A wonderful dealership if you like having products and services you don't want, and explicitly decline, shoved down your throat.I just bought a 2017 Camry at this dealership, and the entire experience was unpleasant. Sales staff were clearly under pressure to push products and services, and it was pitiful to watch them struggle to balance their common sense about how to deal with customers with the demands of management. I bought the car here solely because they are the only dealer in the area, and have an essential monopoly on the brand. After this experience I probably will drive the two hours to the next dealership to have service done - it was that uncomfortable.There were a couple of moments when I almost walked out, despite already having decided on the car. Worst were a "worksheet" the salesman presented and demanded I fill out, to show the benefit (in his mind) of leasing, and snarky comments by their business geek that "people in your financial position almost always buy this protection...." The real topper here was that come delivery day - 3 days after the deal was committed - they presented a car with a chip in the windshield, and a promise to fix it someday. I accepted the car because by that time it didn't matter - I was so angry I just wanted out of there. I immediately went to a glass shop and had the repair done, since it was too much for Alderman's to handle.I got no contact for three weeks after that - except to try to sell me more stuff I didn't want. When I finally got peeved and contacted the salesman to complain he hadn't contacted me, I got the "I left a message" excuse. Maybe he did, and the call got lost in the pile of calls they made pimping their business. Doesn't matter at all - by that time it was far too late. Damaged goods were delivered, with no specific remedy. So, to sum it up, high pressure sales, snarky comments, and damaged goods. I was not impressed.I am impressed with the car - a nice ride for the money.FWIW, I sent this information to their sales manager, and he has not responded.

I have been doing business with Alderman's since 2005. The atmosphere is friendly ( I think our pug ate all their cookies. ) the restrooms are clean, the work on the car is always done well and quickly, the taxi service driver is courteous and prompt, service people are helpful and informative, every employee there has a smile and a "hello" . When I bought my new car there I was given time to think for myself about what I wanted, there was no pressure put on me. I wouldn't dream of changing dealerships.

This is the first time I been to Aldermans service with my new vehicle. I was concerned that with a late afternoon appointment that they would be running behind and I would be delayed for the rest of the day. That did not happen. I hate having to shop around for a new or used car!!! It is a big investment and one that I don't take lightly. My last car I had for twelve years, and it was not easy having to let it go. After doing quite a bit of research on line, and then going to visit the local car dealers over the course of a week, I had in mind what I wanted. Gathering up a view family members, (some driving three hours away), to help and advise me in my investment we went to Alderman's Toyota. They have a great team of professional people working there! Niel Carlson was the sales person that worked with us. He was great and very patient with all of us! All of our questions were answered, and I did not feel rushed or pressured at all. After a couple hours of test driving, and negotiating, I am happy to say I purchased a camry, and I love it.

I only get my car serviced at Alderman's Toyota and today's experience is part of the reason. The service member who helped me, Mike M. was relatively new but that did not stop him from taking every step and giving every effort to ensure I had a great experience right down to tightening my license plate when he noticed it was loose! I've only been in every 5,000 miles for 25,000 miles since November 6, 2013. During this time I've had routine preventive maintenance done such as: synthetic oil changes every 10,000 miles, tire rotations every 5,000 miles, road tests, fluid level/ drive belts & filter checks, brake pads measured for wear, rear brake inspections and adjustments & several other miscellaneous checks. I really liked the complimentary car wash that came after each 5K service. All the previously mentioned service was complimentary on Toyota. A new phase of owning a new Toyota starts in the next 1,500 miles when I must start paying my own way. Like the title of my review states: So far, so good. I think I will still have a pretty upbeat review in the next 25,000 miles. Best, Mike B.

Neal Carlson was fantastic. I'm from NY and he never gave up on finding the right car for me. He even drove it down 6 hours to Long Island, NY for me. He also saved me hours of aggravation at the motor vehicle bureau, and was patient in teaching me how all the things worked in the car. When I was in Rutland decided to go for my first car servicing there, I was taken care of exactly at my appointment time, and it only took one hour. Alderman's Toyota was beautiful, very clean, spacious and had lots of parking. The service department was very well run. And the customer service was very friendly.

Steve Burke was honest about our exhaust problem and gave us a referral and Robert Atkinson is still the old school service manager he has always been. So, similar experience as my wife. I called to make an appointment with the service dept as I knew my extra wrap around warranty was about to expire. When I called, they looked me up, saw my car in their computer and made an appointment for me.I went in and told them there was a squeaky belt and some other issues that needed to be addressed. After waiting awhile, they came out and told me my warranty had already expired. (Keep in mind they knew this when I was on the phone with them but chose to not tell me so they could get me in there). Then they told me that I had TWO BROKEN LUG NUTS AFTER THEY MESSED WITH MY TIRES. They told me that they did not break the lug nuts and must have been the last person that changed tires for me. They then told me how dangerous it was to drive with the broken lug nuts and they would fix them for $165!!!! Online, the lug nuts are about $8. I took my car back, promptly took the car to my mechanic who fixed the lug nuts for $25.They broke the lug nuts and ACTUALLY LET ME DRIVE AWAY like that. So many of my family have bought cars here, but none of us will EVER, EVER make that mistake again.Oh, yeah - forgot about the recalls. I called to have the recalls fixed and was told that they didn't have the parts (a couple of bolts for the first recall). As to the frame recall, they said they wouldn't ever look at it until next summer. As to the seatbelts, they let me leave with the broken lug nuts and the recalled seatbelts. So much for caring about your customers.I called Toyota in Bennington and they were SO nice. They said the parts were only a few bolts and please come in - they would take care of it right away. Guess who gets my business next?

Myself and my wife have spent $80,000 on our 2 Toyota vehicles at Alderman's. My 2002 Sequoia is on the recall list for passenger airbag replacement. Called the service dept. to ask about the recall and was curtly dismissed by employee Elizabeth "0nly vehicles in southern high humidity states are being scheduled for airbag replacement." Period. Hang-up on me. Okay so I called another dealership in Vermont. The Customer Service rep there took my VIN number, looked it up on the computer and said it is indeed part of the recall and I should expect a letter from Toyota. Quite helpful, and I am not a customer there, but may be if Alderman's doesn't show some appreciation for their long-term loyal customers.

Went for a 60,000 mile check up with a squealing fan belt and, check engine light on, and red airbag light on. The service desk staff was very kind and helpful. However, I left the garage with my fan belt still squealing, my check engine light off (thanks!) and red airbag light still on. I called the service department and was told they "saved me $150" by tightening my fan belt and that if I wanted my fan belt to stop squealing I would need to come back and pay the hourly service rate in addition to the fan belt charge. I'm sorry, I paid $250 for this 60,000 mile check up. As far as I can see I got my tires rotated and an oil change. I would be fine paying for the fan belt (quoted to me by my mechanic later at $28.00) but I have, in my view, already paid for the service. Apparently, my car will also not pass inspection with the airbag light on - an issue which they never even addressed!I'll say that when I came in, I was impressed by the customer service and that gigantic indoor garage. However, after them trying to sell me $400 brakes I didn't really need, and not fixing the obvious, I feel really duped.I will not go back. I have gotten over being impressed by the surface illusions.

I contacted them about some less expensive, quality, pre-owned cars and they were very helpful in sending both videos of the cars I was interested in well as the CarFax. Unfortunately being out of State I have to rely on my family to get to the dealership to inspect the cars and by the time my family was able to go, the cars I was interested in, were all ready gone. The Salesman I spoke with was very nice and seems helpful and said that he will keep an eye out for cars meeting my specifics and will contact me when he comes across something that he believes I would be interested in.

Aldermans Toyota commitment to customer service permeates every aspect of dealership, setting them apart from the competition. I asked several dealers in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts for a price on a very specific vehicle that had to be special ordered. Each of the other dealers tried to either get me to agree to a vehicle that I didnt want or tell me my request was impossible. Stacy Alderman said that not only could she get the vehicle, but that she would beat the lowest price I received. What the other dealers struggled with for days, Stacy accomplished with two emails. As a testament to my experience with Stacy and willingness to pay for the best, I purposely did not take her up on her offer to beat the lowest price I received.At delivery, I worked with Kyle Sheridan, who patiently answered all of my questions and walked me through each and every detail of my new car. He was incredibly knowledgeable and efficient, and wanted to make sure that I was completely satisfied with my new purchase before I drove off of the lot. Based on my experience, I would gladly work with the Aldermans Toyota team again because of the dealerships high caliber employees and commitment to customer satisfaction.

We stopped into this dealership to ask what their pricing was on used tacomas. They were initially very affable and helpful. However once we figured out that a used Tacoma was simply out of our price range the salesman became indignant and insistent that because we were there and the vehicle in question had a good turning radius we "had to do business". After refusing our polite hints that we were in over our head and simply wanted to leave they insulted us by offering us $1800 less a $300 "reconditioning fee" for a car that Kelly Blue Book gives a $4600 trade in value. They were so insistent that we had to walk out of the dealership while the salesman insisted on getting "better numbers". Though they may be able to pressure some people into assuming a car payment that extends them beyond their means on an abused vehicle that they aren't sure they want, I was not about to become that sucker. Alderman will certainly not be receiving any of my business in the future, despite the solar panels on their roof.

Brought truck in to be serviced under wrap extra warranty. During the time there, I wanted to trade truck in for a new truck. The value of the truck is approx $16k and I owe $6K. I have excellent credit. After spending 3 hours with the salesperson thinking I was being treated fairly, he throws 6.5% at me with about $14k trade in and nothing off the new truck. I was absolutely disgusted. Then, I went to get my truck and they could not find the paperwork. After waiting a while for the paperwork to be found, I realized they were charging me for everything that was included in the warranty. I mentioned it and they said I didn't have the extra warranty. I showed them my card, but also showed them that the work order DIRECTLY MENTIONED EXTRA WARRANTY. After spending the worthless afternoon in the sales room, I believed the service department knew I had the warranty and thought maybe I would not notice the extra charges. My entire family and extended family have all bought cars from Alderman Toyota. Not one of us will ever go there again for a car.

The overall experience was excellent. We told AJ exactly what we wanted and how much we could afford. He provided options and answered every conceivable question. When it was time to finalize things Joe was extremely efficient and went the "extra mile" to make everything possible and acceptable to all concerned. In short, within 1 1/2 hours we were in a new, licensed, registered and insured vehicle, all handled by a friendly, cooperative and extremely competent, professional staff.I believe they have made new customers for life.

You guys are the best, I really appreciate everything you did for me. You guys made car shopping a pleasure. AJ clearly wanted me to buy a certified toyota, but... I'm a honda girl at heart. AJ made his preference clear, wasn't pushy, or demanding, and was supportive of my decision to go with a honda civic instead. He was helpful and polite, and went out of his way to bend over backwards for me. Joe Ferrara was also a perfect gentleman, he kindly and clearly gave me great advice and helped me to make an informed decision without being pushy or forceful. He explained my options to me and answered all of my questions. I had, by far, the best car shopping experience at Alderman's Toyota, they made me feel like family, and I wouldn't dream of buying a car anywhere else. I highly recommend them to all my friends and family.

I went to Alderman's to buy my first car, I took my boyfriends Mom to help me. I had already communicated through email with AJ for a few days: telling him the kind of car i wanted, the price range i was in, the fact that i didn't have a cosigner, that i had no money to put down and that i wanted to lease. When we got to the dealership we first took out a scion tc to test drive, then took a corolla. when we started talking numbers he didn't take into consideration anything that i told him. payment started out at over $500 and $500 down. After i told him i couldn't afford that the payment went down to $240 and a $500 rebate. Again i told him i couldn't afford that and it turned into a $450 rebate and still more money then i could afford. when my boyfriends mom had some input into the price AJ got very defensive and told us that there was nothing more he could do about the price.when we were ready to walk out he brought out the finance manager who spoke to me like i was a child. telling me that he does this all day and that "people who think they are experts" meaning my boyfriends mom didn't know what they were talking about. at this point he continued with questions about my situation. leading me to believe that AJ had not told him that i didn't have a cosigner, i had no money down and that i had a set limit for monthly payment.i was insulted not only with the way he talked to me but the way he talked about my boyfriends mom. once we started questioning him he got defensive. when we did finally walk out he didn't even shake my hand, he grabbed his jacket and left. he passed us in the parking lot on the way out and he acted as if he didn't even know us.i will never go back to alderman's and i will never recommend them to anyone looking to buy a car. AJ would say that we wasted 2 hours of his time but he wasted my time by not listening to a thing that i said

Rodney was fair and open and relaxed. He offered me information and also to stay after the closing hours. When I went to pick up my "new" (pre-owned) Prius he came in on his day off to see that I had all that I needed. Joe (filling in for Joe Ferrara) was also very pleasant and polite and helpful in completing the paperwork. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone!

It is a wonderful place to buy a car and the service department is great. Everyone is so helpful and nice to work with even the girls in the office where you pay your bill. I would never go anywhere else.I would recomend this dealership and have already.

I called to say I was coming to buy a certain Toyota Tacoma ( I knew stock number and had told Mr. Kelly that I would be there at 4:30 PM. I called at 4:15 PM and told him I was on my way. When I got to the dealership ( a one hour drive) he told me the car was sold yesterday. He had no mare of the model I was looking for.Wasted a half day and half a tank of gas. He should have told me when I called. BUSH LEAGUE !!!

They want to skimp and get by with what they can. They have the market cornered in this area and they know it. Service Manager actually yelled at me for the shoddy work they did on my car. I paid for a extra inside and outside protectant and when my inside was not protected and I questioned them they mistakenly claimed to not have mixed the formula right due the manufacturer GIVING them the wrong formula.....how many others out there have paid for a product and do not know this....I asked... so you are going to redo my whole interior right? NO! Why would I we are just going to do the seats! iTHis is the reply I received. .... PLUS, numerous other things have gone wrong with my car and they are unwilling to claim responsibility and I have less than 2000 miles on my BRAND NEW CAR! After talking with several other public locals they too say have expressed the will travel out of town NOT to have to deal with this dealership. Oh how I wish I could take it all back now and have gone somewhere else. Sad thing my salesman was wonderful, not pushy, nice but now that I have problems and I am questioning their customer service they are rude and condensending! I could go on and on. OH and my vehicle received a crack at 570 some odd miles and then another and they told me to call the 1800 number to complain to the manufacturer... It was out of their hands and Mr. Alderman had stated "He didnt want no part of dealing with that issue!" How is that for customer service?
