This is a follow up review on my purchase from Axis and i'm delightfully happy. These guys really care about making sure things are done the right way. I bought my car sometime ago and being a first time buyer am not too sure about up keep. So i called the office and asked to speak with someone in service they were a little busy at the time so they called me back about an hour later. I talked with Johnatahn and he was more than willing to help. Answered allmy questions on maintaining my car and preparing it for winter. Axis Auto Group i applaud you thank you for taking then next step above customer care.

I recently bought a Honda Odyssey touring from Axis. I live in Philadelphia PA and made the drive to Jersey city because they had the car that I wanted. My trade in was not worth much because it had sudden transmission problems. I was not even sure that they would take it as a trade...but they did! I am soooo pleased with my purchase. The car was immaculate and drives well. They offer good cars for good prices. My sales agent Rosa went out of her way to accommodate me....she even came in on her day off to help me! Overall I had a great experience with Axis and would recommend this dealership and sales agent Rosa to everyone.

I had emailed several dealerships about trading in my classic, low mileage, Porsche 928 for a used late model Camaro and this dealership was the only one that responded to my email. They had a beautiful 2013 Convertible Camaro that blew me and my family away during the test drive. They gave me a fair price for my 1989 classic car, not exactly what I wanted but fair. The salesperson, Rosa, was not pushy at all and very professional. It was actually her first day working at this dealership, but she had a lot of experience working at another dealership. I have terrible credit, but the owner was able to get me a car loan for the remainder of the purchase price with an excellent interest rate. He even had his very nice nephew drive me to the Credit Union in Newark to complete the paperwork. When picking up my car, they detailed it at my request and did minor touch up on the front bumper. This dealership went above and beyond my expectations.

Do not go there, unless you want to ruin the rest of your day. I called in the night prior to ask if they still had a vehicle that we were interested in. They said "yes" and they told us to come by. After a 4 hour drive they told us that they sold it yesterday. We decided to leave without looking at any other vehicles. The salesman started using profanity and chased us out of the dealership while cussing. We could not believe what just happened. We were blown away with their lack of professionalism and basic communication skills. Please do not give them any business.

I work in a dealership so I am VERY aware of the process that comes with it. For this reason, I try to be understanding with things that may come up in the auto purchasing process, so believe me when I say to STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! I drove from NC to NJ to do business with Axis Auto. I was told I was approved before coming all the way up there, when I got there, they told me they were going to go through another financial institution. Okay, cool. Aside from the sales person, Samantha, not reading anything verbally out loud on the contract, (which is illegal), everything else went fine and I drove home to NC. We will not even talk about the things that were wrong with the car (no fuse cover on fuse box, and it was pouring down raining, weather stripping came off the windshield when driving, motor is from a junk yard, gears popping out when driving, etc.) happened on my way home with the actual car, but after arriving home, I got a call a week later saying my loan had been kicked back because I work in a dealership and the financial institution said it was a conflict of interest. How did I drive away in a car that technically I never was approved for? Clearly my occupation was on my check stubs that were submitted to both the dealership and the finance company. My occupation was never hidden. Sketch #1. I got numerous calls from the dealership while they tried to get me financed through someone else. Why didn't they just go back to the 1st finance company that "approved" me before I even went up there? Sketch #2. I ended up getting an additional 10 credit inquiries on my credit report, and so did my Father who was the co-signer. We never agreed to these inquiries being ran. Maybe 2 or 3, but 10? Chase Bank finally came through, or so they said. After I was told I was "approved" by Chase, I did another contract, and then I was STILL being asked to call Chase every day to do some type of interview. Interview for what if I was already "approved"? It gets better.... I was unable to drive my car for over a month because my permanent tags never came through from the dealership. I got the run around for literally a month and no one would return my call, including the sketch manager, Sal. I called the NC DMV and they said nothing about my car had even been reported at all. I called Chase Bank, which they proceeded to tell me they didn't even have the title to the vehicle yet. Sketch #3. I had to get my personal assistants to call and handle the situation, and I finally got my permanent tags on September 15th. I bought the car in July.. you do the math. Sketch #4. 2 days after getting my permanent tags, my 5th gear decides to give out on me. Further investigation proves the radiator isn't the one that is suppose to be in the car, it's not even fully held in; the motor is from a junk yard and is not the original motor in the car, the hood is rigged and not fully bolted down, as well as the fan to the car (which keeps overheating). Either it's a clutch issue now, or the lovely transmission is gone. When buying a used car, you never really know what you are getting, which is why I never made a fuss about the issues with the car... but with all of the lies, run arounds, financing issues, then tag issues, I MUST speak out on this. I never got a call afterward apologizing for all the issues, I haven't heard one bit of concern. I work in sales selling cars, and I would NEVER treat my clients as if they don't matter the way they have treated me. Not one ounce of consideration from these people. They made my whole first trip to the North a NIGHTMARE!!!! I guess not everyone does business the correct way like we do it in the South. Read the reviews, I WISH I would have done the same. Fortunately for them, they just so happened to have the car I wanted. Now, I wouldn't buy a piece of bread from them if I was on their street in front of their dealership starving! AXIS WILL AXE YOU!!!

I went in with a certain car in mind. Unfortunately by the time I got there it had been sold, but the staff most specifically John Luca worked with me made me feel at home and found me the right car I was looking for. This was my first time buying a car and I was nervous going into the situation but my sales representative helped me feel at home and very comfertable. I recommend this dealership for their great quality care and warm welcome and family like treatment. Lastly I strongly recommend John Luca even after my purchase he often checks on me to make sure everything's okay with the car and that I'm happy with my purchase. Also in my experience it felt more like friendship a few days after my purchase I had realized I needed a new tire at the time I didn't have the necessary funds but this man bought me a tire out of his own pocket I can't say it enough they make you feel at home and almost like family definitely worth a 5 star rating.

I came in on a Mercedes Benz E class that I found online that seemed nice and seemed to be at a reasonable price through some research. I wound up not liking the car seemed a little big for me but the gentlemen I worked with Peter showed me to a few other cars I might be interested in. I wound up selecting a Lexus IS took it for a test drive and like it. I just want to say thanks for sticking with me even though I was a little picky. I would recommend again.

When looking for a used car sometimes it takes a little more than the car itself to make your decision. I am a very picky person and spent the last 5 months trying to find the right car, the model and the right color. I came to Axis about three separate times trying to find what exactly I was looking for. I wound up getting so friendly with these guys they outsourced and went and found me the exact car I wanted. They treated me like a family member. Thank you Sergio and thank you Angel for being a huge help.

I was told about this place being operated by thieves. Thankfully It costed me only $100.00 for nothing Because I decided to leave a small deposit for a car that was said to be refundable. Horribly they never returned the money to me after I attempted several times to get them to refund the money. I don't try anymore because they started being rude and I believe that karma will get them back for robbing me and selling the car I made a deposit on and later refused to give me back the money. I hope that $100 serves them justice. The reason for me not buying the car was the list of navigation charge backup camera charge and all these finance fees they tried to pull on me. I know alot about financing a used vehicle and I asked them for copies of the charges to review on my own. They refused to do so because they knew I cold have showed back up with a lawyer. Beware of this place. Someone needs to shut these scam businesses down!

I came to Axis because their Jeep Liberty fell in my price range and the reassuring quality photos of the vehicle made me feel comfortable that the vehicle was in good shape and I would not be wasting my Saturday afternoon. We called early in the day to advise this "dealer" that we'd be coming by to look at a car. They confirmed the time, took down my name and tried to get additional info, which I declined to share. They also asked us to identify the car we were interested in and they confirmed that they still had it. We got there at at the time we discussed and no one was in the office to assist us. Finally, a man told us that "the man" was on the lot and coming. So we wait. Please note, the car in which we expressed interest was not out front and ready to be viewed and test driven by a potential buyer. When "the man" -- we'll stick with that since he never introduced himself -- finally came to assist us he literally "pointed" us to the car. No, the keys were not in the car. Umm, why did he think we were there??? So, we chase him down again and request the key so we can start and test drive the car. He brings the key and discourages the test drive by suggesting we start it and go ftom there. We start the car and notice the check engine light is on, as well as some other indicator lights. When we ginally capture his attention again, we mention them and he says the issue relates to an echaust leak. He assures us that the engine and transmission are fine, but says the car will need work such as an oil change and tune up. At that point we ask whether he has a code reader so we can determine fir ourselves the readon for the check engine light. He says they don't. Once we chase him down again, we tell him we'd like to test drive the car. I cant imagine that's an unusual request of a person who sells cars. He asks when we would be looking yo buy the car. Since it is less than 30 minutes before they were closing on Wednesday night. We said we would look to purchase on Friday morning. In response, "the man" suggested we drive it when we came back to buy it. What kinds of fools does he come across? First of all, we're not buying anything that performs poorly and there''s no way to determine that without driving the car. Nor are we buying anything before determining the nature of the check engine light issue. Who does that???? I gave a curt you-just-lost-a-customer "okay" and asked my husband to give him the keys. They can keep that bs and that lemon. We'll find another car from a reputable and professional source. Beware and stay far away from these unprofessional scammer who go to ridiculously unreasonable lengths to thwart the discovery of the flaws in their lemons.

These guys are really great. I was divorced five years ago and had to file bankruptcy three years ago. I am a social worker-teacher and put a lot of miles on my car for work. I was able to keep my car. I had a Hyundai. I had one year left on the payments but the car had 196,000 miles on it and it started to have problems. These gentleman got me financed which included the last year on my Hyundai wrapped into my deal. I was shocked and so happy and grateful. You aint going to walk into a Honda or Ford Dealership and expect this to happen. It won't. I got a great payment-only about $25 more then my current payment. And I got a great car. This is what happens when you go to a family owned dealership. I can't comment on the negative ratings. Like I said-you in the same situation I was-like I said a new car dealership aint touching you. These are good people and they take care of you.

The problem with buying a used vehicle is that the dealer doesn't tell you all the problems the vehicle has. By the time you find out, your "30-day warranty" has expired. They can state adamantly that they weren't aware of the issues. And they WILL NOT pay for the repair, not even half! That is our problem. Thing is, we made them aware of the issues the NEXT DAY and they STILL didn't fix the problem. Their mechanics are very limited in what they understand about automobiles, and the "Preferred Warranty" firm they charge you over $1500 to be a member of is just as bad. For one thing, MAKE SURE you get the contract up front for this warranty company and READ IT, ALL of it. Therefore you can cancel the contract if you do not wish to use them, which is not an obligation. We didn't receive the full contract from the dealer. We only received it when we called the company for necessary repairs that Axis'' mechanics couldn't/wouldn't fix and were informed of what "was not" covered. THEN they emailed us the contract. This was AFTER the deadline to cancel the contract with them!

We purchased a 2004 Lincoln LS from the dealership on Garfield Ave. in Jersey City. Yes, the reps are VERY nice and they do all they can to help you to purchase a vehicle. HOWEVER, once they get paid, the "nice" disappears! There were major issues with the car the DAY AFTER we drove off the lot. Their "mechanics" (notice the quotations marks) repaired some of the issues but denied that there was anything else wrong with the car. Our mechanic informed us of a very major issue, which THEIR "mechanic" adamantly stated there was nothing wrong. Viola! The car ended up overheating and we had to get it towed. The $800+ invoice had to come out of OUR pocket as Axis refused to share in the repair bill. Now, we have to take them to court, and take them we will! This is ridiculous! Folks: BEFORE you purchase ANYTHING from Axis, have a good mechanic check it out. That will save you the headache that you will certainly have if you don't.

I was interested in a car that I've seen on their website, instead of calling and wasting time I drove all the way to Garfield NJ coming from New York where the car was posted and originally located when I arrived I went inside the office and asked a gentlemen that was sitting at the desk about the car and he had told me the car was sold that same morning. Fine I decided to walk out after being told that. Two days had passed and I go on the website again to see other cars that I could be interested in and I came across the same car I was interested in the first place still up as for sale, so I go ahead put all my information on the form to get called back regarding the car, Long and behold I get a call back from this guy named Sergio (don't even know why he still has a job because his customer service sucks!) he told me that the car was still in stock in his lot in the Broadway location he asked me when would be a good day to come and see the car I told him I would be there Friday when we spoke over the phone it was on a Wednesday. Now mind you this is the same car I had already gone to the Garfield location inquiring about and they said they sold it but Sergio had the nerve to say it was available so I finally arrived after being stuck in traffic for three hours I asked for Sergio and he comes out and I tell him I'm here looking for the car, he at first asked me what day we spoke and I told him then he comes and tells me some nonsense xxxx that he sold the car yesterday. Now tell me how can you sell a car you never had in the first place, had me waste my time and money for nothing. It's like he said that to me to get me to go and look at other cars for nothing. Then he has the nerve to catch an attitude with me because I caught him lying and I told him that he never had the car in his lot because it was sold in the Garfield location. He is a bull xxxxxxx and doesn't even know how to talk to customers, the worst experience I've had, he should be fired. Take your money somewhere else they don't deserve your business nor your time.

Sergio looked at me and said "we don't go by that" I told him I had a few credit issues (nothing major) and I'm building my credit. Sergio priced the vehicle at $17,987.00 after financing. I could do nothing but laugh and walk out the door. I will Never recommend this place to anyone. Thieves with attitudes! Oh Yea, and the vehicle was a 2004 with over 80,000 MLS. Lol. SMH.......

Scam artists to say the least. I do not understand how a place like this is still in business. I gave them 7 months to fix my car ... bent over backwards to convenience them. And now - I go to my lawyer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE ... ESP SERGIO AND CESAR !!! TERRIBLE ATTITUDES, AND THE ONLY TIME THEY MOVE FAST IS WHEN ITS TIME TO SIGN THE PAPERS. AMAZING THE BBB HAS NOT TURNED THEM DOWN.

I bought a 2008 Volvo XC90 last week from Axis Auto Group. It's no secret that used car dealers generally don't have excellent reputations, so I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the level of personal service that I received from all the guys at Axis. Angel, the salesperson, basically spent the day with me and accompanied me to a mechanic OF MY CHOICE to check out the car. John gave me a ride to/from the PATH train so I didn't have to use a taxi.Sergio was very accommodating during the negotiating process, and worked with me to ensure the best value for my buck. I encourage any buyer to be very up front and ask ANY AND ALL applicable questions that you may have, but if your communication is good, then you will receive top notch service from these HONEST guys.I would buy from them again.

I should have read the reviews before I went there. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS. I paid $4,900 for a car that drove off the lot and broke down. When I walked back to the dealership they told me it is a used car and nothing they can do. CARS ARE GARBAGE - STAFF IS CRAP - LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS... STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

DO NOT USE THESE THIEVES!!! HOW ARE THEY STILL IN BUSINESS?? Searched for what seemed like forever to buy my daughter's first car.....searched the internet and found a Honda CR-V with lower mileage at the Axis Auto Group..So my boyfriend and I go up to test drive the car..seemed to ride smoothly, air conditioning didn't blow cold, I didn't mind, but the check engine light was on, so I questioned it..Cesar said, oh don't worry, Our mechanic has looked it over and said that he just needed to order a part and it was a minor issue. He also said that the mechanic was on lunch and would be available to look at the car and talk to us about it later. We went to lunch and pondered it over and decided to purchase the car. They didn't agree to taking the car to our mechanic, they insisted it was minor and that just a part needed to be ordered to pass inspection. Long story short, I purchased the car and my ex-husband took the car to his local mechanic and found that the engine is not the original engine in the car... My ex called to ask about the dishonesty and Ceasar told us we were BEAT!".. this car will never pass inspection and we are out my daughter's birthday money $4000.00..

Scheduled an appointment to see a specific car. Was going to be my son's first car and it seemed perfect! I made it clear I had an hour and a half drive each way. Just as we pulled into lot....which had no parking... we saw the salesperson putting a plate on the car we came to buy because they sold it to someone else. They never even gave us the courtesy of a phone call to spare us the long drive and rush hour traffic. When I approached the sales people to say something about the situation they were very rude and just said first come first serve with no appology what so ever!!!! Wouldn't take a car if they gave it to me. Take your business somewhere else.

A big disappointment! Do NOT buy from here! I purchased a 2003 VW Beetle Convertible for $6,100.00 for my daughter from salesman named John on 10/25/12 and today is two months later (2/3/13) and we had the following problemS with this vehicle and dealership. First we live a hour away and drove there to have salesman John P. sell us a total, 100% lemon. As soon as we drove into our driveway at home the window fell into the door and still needs to be fixed (That quote from 3 places has been at "least" $400.00!). So, the very next day we drove to our mechanic to have it checked out because our daughter had said she felt the brakes were not braking correctly and the car kept making a banging sound and jolting. We found out that it needed new brakes on front so we paid $700.00 for that. The car also needed new tires but that we didn't mind because it was a used car..so we replaced the tires. The mechanic couldn't feel banging but my daughter said it would happen after driving for 15-20 minutes. Next, our daughter said the convertible top wouldn't lock and she said as she drove the sensor light was on and it screamed while she drove. She took it to VW dealer and they said sensor was missing and to not take it down. Well, it is winter so she HASNT had it down...also if she did take it down the window that falls in the door, well, falls in door. Lets get back to the banging. We had the car checked by a 2nd mechanic and he drove the car for 30 minutes and came back to my daughter shaking his head saying he felt it to be transmission but he couldn't fix it. So, we had car towed (because it was undriveable and this is week 2 or 3 of having car) to a Volkswagon specialist and the car needed a new transmission. My wife decided to call John and tell him everything in hopes of some help. John said, "So, you want to work something out?' my wife happily agreed. John said he had to talk to owner and could we call back at 2 pm that day. My wife said that I would call. When I did call back John said that they would NOT work out a deal and that the car was "as is" and once the car leaves the lot it is was ours. The owner is such a coward that he couldn't even get on phone to talk to me. So, thinking this was a loss and how much we put into the car and could not sell a car like this to anyone or even use it as a trade in without losing money, we went ahead and bought a used transmission for car for $4300.00. We were just about to make the drive to pick up the car when I called the garage and asked if there was anything else needed to fix. The mechanic said the a timing belt was bad and since he knew all we went through he said instead of what he normally would charge he charged us $900.00. So, Here is the cost for the lemon that Axis obviously never inspected before selling. Purchase of car : $6,140.00Brakes and tires: 700.00Used transmission: 4,300.00 Timing Belt : 900.00 Window repair: 400.00 still needs repairing and this could cost more or less.Convertible sensor: ??? still needs repairing need quote stilltotal:--------------------------------------------- $12,440.00 minus sensor repair that we have investedI am a business owner for 24 years and if I treated my customers like this business, Axis Group, we wouldn't have lasted one year. Please don't buy from Axis Group. They sell a bad product don't expect any help. NONE...and we didn't expect a lot. We only wanted them to work with us. Final Deal or not they should back their cars.sincerely and honestly,Dean Sulimay

DO NOT GO HERE THEY SCAM EVERY PENNY OFF YOU! Their cars are pretty on the outside and broken on the inside! And they don't help you when you tell them the problems! Once again DO NOT GO HERE!

These are a bunch of theives, sorry I didn't read the reveiws before I bought the car. I bought a 1998 Navigator and was told, I had a three month warranty, less than 5 minutes from leaving the lot, the check engine lights came on. They sent me out on a major dangerous highway with a flawed brake system, that could have caused a fatal accident. Then after the fact, they tell me that the vehicle has too many miles to qualify for warranty. As I didn't have all the money, to pay cash. I had it financed. As it stands now I owe the finance company $4500, and I have vehicle that at the end of the day. If I can get it running right at all is going to cost me twice as much as it is worth.Avoid these Low Life, like the plauge.

After several months of searching for the right car, we found Axis Auto Group. As soon as we got there, the staff was very friendly and willing to work with both my husband and I on the right deal. My husband loves a challenge and has always been the type of person who pushes the sales staff to the limit when bargaining for the best price. Many dealerships wouldn't even entertain his suggested dollar amount. With Axis Auto Group the entire experience was completely different. The staff was super friendly, and willing to work with my husband. He was satisfied with the final cost and I was super excited to have been able to drive out of the lot with the car that I had been wanting plus more. And did I mention a few thousand dollars less than any other dealer that we had gone to. After an exhausting four months of searching for the right car and right dealership, I'm glad we found Axis, I highly recommend them. The staff including the owner go above and beyond to make your experience pleasant, I highyl recommend them and would definitely go back.

Terrible place to do any business. I purchased a vehicle from these thieves and they refuse to send the title as promised by the salesperson, Sergio Mendez. The fact that these crooks are allowed to take advantage of people the way they do is a true crime that needs to be dealt with and I am sure it will be. In the mean time keep your money away from this discrace of a dealership.

I got a use car from Axis and like I always say u get what u pay for, so at the time I was not very happy with the car I picked out, so I asks if I could get a different car to one of the sellers and they said I would need to talk to the owner of the Axis, so I waited for his arrival, and as soon as he saw me he came right up to me and heard that I wasn't happy with the car I picked out and said he would help me to pick a car that I would be happy with and would swap the one I had with a car I really like, I must say I was very surprise that he would even help me, but he did, so he show me a 2001 Lexus RX300 and I love the car, and in very good condition and all was working in the car, as well, so I just like to thank him for all his help in finding the right car for me & my wife ..

I put a down payment on a car and the dealer sold the car anyway. The dealer had me wait four days to get approved and then told me one of the other employees sold the car while he was working with banks on my deal. Dealer told me the car was sold while I was waiting in the insurance place and told me to pick up the deposit I left. Terrible busy to do with a customer

I saw a 1992 Lexus that was being sold by Axis Group and I needed a car for my older son. We went and bought it on Saturday, May 22, 2010, Full payment. We receive a temporary license (20 days to drive it) and for 5 weeks now, we have been trying to get the title for the car. The car had to be garaged since June 10 and it was bought in order for my son to do his job of marketing for a healthcare business. I've called them and they kept telling me, tomorrow, and tomorrow and it has now been 31 tomorrows and no title. I also realized that many people are complaining about them, how they sell lemons and when they take over 30 days to turn in a title, you can't bring the car back as a lemon because it's over 30 days. and I am starting to believe that they are playing the lemon card wih me.

I bought a car from these people. My car had been wrecked and I needed a car to get back home. They said the car had been garaged and was relatively rust free. The top and interior looked good. The underside had been coated with undercoat to hide the rust. My mechanic said it was the worst case of "cover up" he has seen. When I called them to talk to them about the car their response was "you bought a used car". "Tough luck". STEER CLEAR OF THESE PEOPLE

Would sue them if I could. Car had an oil flow problem which was masked by a disabled engine temperature gauge. Car overheated massively resulting in a bent crank arm. As a result I either have to scrap the car or replace the entire engine. Unfortunately owned it just over 2 months so not covered by NJ lemon laws. BEWARE OF THESE GUYS.
