We worked with Anthony Grippo who was extremely patient in answering all our questions and in helping us choose the right model and decide on whether buying or leasing was best for us. He never pressured us or "fast talked" us, and offered us the best deal of all the Subaru dealers we visited.We also met with Michael Chiusano and he was equally helpful, informative and non-pressuring.Once we had purchased the vehicle, Anthony took the time to familiarize us with it and show us how the equipment worked, and even told us that we could call him any time if we had any further questions.

Traded in my 2012 Honda CRV-EX for a Subaru Forester 2.5i Limited with EyeSight and Harmon-Cardon/navigation system and did my homework before going in. Priced out the trade-in value and the price of the new car on Autotrader and KBB and cars.com and got the "guaranteed" low price from autotrader with the exact options I wanted. Based on my bad dealership experiences with Honda I went in loaded for bear! To my surprise, it couldn't have been a more pleasant and stress-free experience. Went in on a Sunday and met the salesman Joseph Teti. The man is friendly, professional, personable, and as honest and transparent as anyone I've ever dealt with. Without saying a word, he priced out the new car at approximately $600 less than the autotrader "excellent" price for my area, and used the dealer inventory price and not the sticker price. The car with the accessories had to be located, and and the trade-in value of my car was what I was hoping for. By Friday afternoon, I was back to finalize and pick up my new car. I was introduced to the finance manager, Craig Miller. Again, no high pressure, just a discussion about the extended warranty and the theft recovery system. he laid at the facts, and let me come to a decision on my own. The transaction was complete, the registration transfer processed on premises and I drove out with my new Subaru with the permanent registration, the options I requested, at a better price than I expected. Oh, and his walk-through of the actual functions of the car was informative, fun, and done in a way that Joe shows his personal passion and love of the product he represents. I couldn't be happier and more satisfied. Thank you, Joe!

After having done extensive research on a 2016 Forester and visiting another Subaru dealership, I settled upon Bay Ridge Subaru. After discussing what I was looking for and what I expected to spend on it - the sales rep, David was easy to deal with (at least as easy as haggling for a price can be). Even after the purchase David followed through maintaining contact with me checking on how everything was going with the car and if I had any questions regarding the functions of the vehicle. Bay Ridge Subaru will be my first choice when it comes time to purchasing a Subaru Legacy. I just hopes that they can get it in red which my wife so badly desires.

I had an excellent experience with Bay Ridge Subaru and saleswoman Patricia Froncillo. I visited her once when I was still shopping for cars and she gave me a full rundown of options straight from the catalog that she gave me. I really did my homework on a number of different brands, and I had a lot of salespeople act evasively about the package options. Patricia took me straight to the options page and pointed out the differences, and the prices. She took me on a test drive. She basically said, we've got the best price and best customer service, go see what else is out there, and I'll be here if/when you are ready to buy a Subaru. After talking to her I tried other dealers and told them the package I wanted, and they always tried to steer me toward ones I did not want. I also found they often did not even deal with me seriously because I knew exactly what I wanted. Car buying is a weird business.So I went back to Bay Ridge Subaru after exploring all my options (including New Jersey and Westchester). I knew what I wanted to pay, and that is what they offered, and better yet, that is what I paid. Patricia laid out every fee, and stuck to the interest rate. The car took a while to get (2.5 months), but it was 2 weeks earlier than Patricia said it would be.What I learned about buying a car is know what you want, research the price and options, and then find a salesperson who has roots in the community and takes his/her reputation seriously.

Joseph Teti was our salesperson and he was really knowledgeable, friendly and helped us to understand what model of the Forester was best for us. We also met with Mike Chiusano, General Sales Manager who also took time to discuss our purchase/lease. Even the owner, Tom took time to speak with us. Horrible experience, I "scheduled a test drive" through their website only to get there the next morning and have the car still be inside. When I asked the salesmen who was appointed to me, Peter Marconi, if we could test drive the car he refused and wanted to speak price first stating "I'm not going to move all these cars if you're going to offer something low". Who in their right mind would offer money on a car they haven't even driven? I spoke to Peter about another car I was considering, same make, same year, different specs, certified and better price. He responded with "maybe you should go by that car then". Thank you Mr. Marconi for the great advice because that's exactly what I did that very day at another friendly, non-pushy, and professional dealership. Funny how a week later this dealership is still calling/e-mailing asking for my business. Even if I hadn't boughten a new car yet I would not return to a place as unprofessional as this.

I am a savvy, discerning consumer who pays attention to detail and is hard to please. My 2000 Toyota Avalon XLS was totaled one night and I found myself test driving a Honda Accord XL the following day. It was acceptable. I moved on to Bay Ridge Subaru, where I met with Patricia Froncillo. (Friends had recommended I speak with her)I drove my friend's Impreza to the showroom. The Impreza ride was much like the Accord. After speaking with Patricia, she thought I should test drive a Forester Subaru as it had a similar ride to the Toyota I had driven for 15+ years. Even though it is a 4 cylinder, it has lots of power and a smooth ,silky ride, not to mention a sound system that blew me away! The 2016 Forester sold itself to me! Patricia facilitated a perfect match! Patricia is one amazing salesperson! Not only does she know her stuff, she is detail oriented and passionate about selling quality cars. Patricia has a most engaging personality and a sense of humor that is beyond entertaining! I almost lost sight that I was sitting in a car showroom!I usually think( for a long time) and obsess about large purchases. Well, this experience was a first for me! We discussed the price and terms of the lease and I made a decision to lease the Forester that day. I LOVE MY SUBARU and Patricia. I will be back at the end of the lease to move into another exceptional car. I highly recommend working with Patricia. I have not yet had any experience with the service department, but the staff seems pleasant and helpful in general as I observed them dealing with customers.

I have tried to make this dealership work for me and sadly, it seems it will not. They insist you bring your car into the dealership during the week, which for me means taking the day off of work for regular maintenance. I'm also not impressed with their ability to think. For example, when I called and scheduled to have my recalled seat swapped out, not they calling me to tell me that the part was in, they had me come in at 7 AND THE TECHNICIANS WHO INSTALL THE SEAT AREN'T IN UNTIL 8!Everyone here seems reasonably nice but give me a break, my time is important and I need some better options. Sounds like I will be traveling to Staten Island or, gasp, New Jersey. ..

Once again Subaru came through! Besides the usual NYS inspection, they did a great job with a 30, 000 mile tune-up, so we have plenty more Subaru miles to go! The front desk staff (all staff) are very nice, the waiting room is comfortable, and all of this was done in a small amount of time. I thank you for the service and when I drove away to my home, I could feel that once again Subaru did a great, no, make that a grand job!

I had a very positive experience at Bay Ridge Subaru. After living in NYC for 30 years, I was buying my first car in order to move to the Midwest. I met with Patricia and test drove a Forester and an Impreza and, while I liked both cars (both highly recommended by Consumer Reports) I decided on the Forester because of the interior room and great visibility out the back. Patricia was friendly, candid and helpful throughout the process and Craig clearly explained the financing arrangements and got it approved quickly. I liked the small, neighborhood feel of the dealership and the lack of high pressure selling.

Best car buying experience I have ever had.I went into Bay Ridge Subaru dealership on 1/19/15. The sales rep, Corey Middleton was extremely knowledgeable, answering all my questions(of which i had many). I asked for a test drive of the 2015 Outback and Forrester. I immediately knew after the test drive that the Outback was for me. Corey explained that with all the options i wanted with the car(especially Eyesight) that it would be a 3-4 month wait. I received the call from Corey the first week in May that my car was in and a week later I picked it up. On that day he took time(over 1 hour) to explain all the features of the car to me, and I drove out feeling great.The Outback rides like a DREAM! The financial adviser Craig also was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend Bay Ridge Subaru as the place to purchase a car and don't forget to ask for Corey! Great Dealership, friendly, non-rushed atmosphere, and extremely knowledgeable STAFF!!!!

Last week I received excellent service from Bay Ridge Subaru, especially from Advisor Steve Cravotta, who thoroughly explained needed repairs (while pointing out the problems fromunder the lift), and made sure all repairs were completed on time as promised. Mr. Cravottaalso dealt directly with my extended warrantee company, and saw to it that most of the repairs (including engine work) were covered at no cost to me. They diagnosed and resolved problems that other mechanics were unable to take care of, and the car has never driven better.That's why I can recommend Bay Ridge Subaru Service without reservation.

I bought my first car (at age 52!) from BayRidge Subaru. Subaru is a terrific car, so I am sure I would have been satisfied had I bought it elsewhere but everyone I dealt with here made the process less scary. I have been servicing my car at BayRidge Subaru since I bought it there, and although it is out of my way I find the trek worth it. My car feels smoother and gets much better mileage after a visit. The waiting room has several comfy chairs as well as tables to sit at, along with a TV, WiFi, a water cooler, and hot drinks. After service is performed they always inform me well as to what was done and why. If they find something unexpected while they are working on your car they will let you know so they can amend their original estimated charge with your approval. All around top notch.

Purchased my car 2013 legacy in December 2012, headlights have been out 3 times, fog lights twice. The first time I came to get them fixed, they told me I went somewhere else to get my fog lights. I NEVER went anywhere else but here. They did not fix the fog light, nor did they call to tell me they ordered one because they probably never did. My headlight was out again 4 months later. I caled up and told them to make sure there was a foglight bulb for my car, the lady on the phone said yes I will make sure they know that. As I'm here they tell me they need to order a foglight bulb for me, AGAIN. So i haven't had a working foglight for 8+ months. HORRIBLE customer service, my family and I complretly regret purchasing my car here. It's a shame because I love my legacy, but as for this dealership, biggest mistake of my life.

I have no problems with the service. What I object to is the very costly interval service {7500 mile service ] which runs from $150 to over $300 for 15K and so on--practically all other dealers provide free service or greatly reduced thru coupons. Knowing how expensive these service requirements are will certainly influence any further dealings with this comany. Considering that you don't really replace anything in service interval--I'm a bit perplexed as to Why??? Does a brand new car really need a fuel cleaning service???? I think you get my message. Very good car and hope it will be as good as my Sienna, toyota which was destroyed by a driver over 80 years old in a parking lot

I've been a loyal customer of Bay Ridge Subaru for over 10 years and they never disappoint. Even after moving to Queens, I still drive into Brooklyn to bring my car here. I brought my 2013 Subaru Outback to get it's scheduled service on Friday 8/2/13. The service took about an hour and a half but the wi-fi, free coffee, free newspapers and television made the time fly. Bay Ridge Subaru is trustworthy, friendly and efficient.

This is the fourth Subaru that I have leased with this dealship, with Peter Marconi as my salesman every time. Peter makes the whole process seamless and worked with me (on all four leases) to keep the cost in my price range. He takes care of every detail and all I had to do was drive my old car in and drive the new one out. He programmed my GPS and set up the Bluetooth and I was in out in less than an hour. All four times, I have leased a Imprezza WRX and the car is awesome! As far as maintenance on my cars, the Service Department is wonderful. There have been many instances when I would bring the car into service without an appointment with what seemed to be a problem. When the trouble was just a slight adjustment, I would not be charged at all. They are courteous, accommodating and the mechanics are top notch. Can't be happier with my car, the dealership and service department and will keep coming back year after year.

So far I've found Bay Ridge Subaru's service department to be pretty surly and unhelpful. I used them for a pair of simple recalls (I mean extremely simple, one was "check glue on the sunroof") and they acted like I was putting them out - even though I had an appointment they ended up keeping the car for an entire work day, for what couldn't have been more than 15 minutes of labor.This week I needed an appointment to address some warning lights, and was told that the next available slot was ten days away! Happily, I found Koeppel Subaru in Long Island City who could take me much sooner, turned around the car quickly, and were nice about it.

Terrific response to my needs. Professional, knowledgeable and courteous attention from everyone from the valet Parker to the receptionist to the sales staff. Especially impressive was Peter Marconi who guided me through the purchase process and had all paperwork prepared and organized on pickup day so we were in and out with our car in 10 minutes. When I brought my car in for its first tune up, I didn't have the bluetooth set up correctly. One of the employees stayed with me for quite awhile until it was set up and I understood how to use it. Other employees are always polite and helpful as well. All my experiences there have been positive.

We leased a Subaru with Patricia at Bay Ridge Subaru back in March-- this letter is certainly long overdue but we just wanted everyone to know how impressed we were with the customer relations aspect of our relationship. Patricia could not do enough for us. Specifically, she was diligent in keeping us informed of the progress, and ALWAYS returned our telephone calls. Patricia was funny, courteous, respectful, and VERY - VERY understanding (we were worried that we might not get the new Subaru in time as Patricia promised-- at the time our current leased Honda had to be returned around the same time the new Subaru would be delivered). However, Patricia made it happen, and as promised, it was on time and she even took our old Honda and had it returned to the dealer. The day we went to pick it up, she spent over an hour going over every feature in our new car including setting up both our Bluetooth. If we didn't have to return to work she would have spent more time with us, she would not let us leave until she was certain we were satisfied and even followed up with phone calls weeks and months later, to make sure we were still satisfied. Patricia is rare as they come and a true professional. I will always refer others to her and will definitely be back ourselves-- can't imagine doing business with anyone else. T & M

What a great car buying experience. I made an inquiry and was told at my own convenience make an appointment and he will sit with us. There was no further contact made until weeks later. This was certainly a no pressure easy buying experience. Definitely total opposite of common car buying tales. Very professional and knowledgeable. I wanted to test drive the new Forester xt on a Saturday afternoon at 3:30PM, so I called the dealer on Friday to schedule a test for Saturday after, the sales told me to call like 2 hours before to confirm if the car is not sold, I said ok. I called Saturday at 12PM and got to voicemail and left a message to call me back if I can test drive the car. Waited till 1pm, no call back, so I called the main number and explained the situation, and the other sales told me the sales I was working with is with a client and he will forward the call to his voicemail. Bay Ridge Subaru just don't get back to their customer. Go some place else. If they don't care about the customer ever before they own a Subaru, I don't see how good of the customer service after getting the car.!!!

I just wrapped up a deal on a new vehicle purchase with Bay Ridge Subaru. The process was very fair and honest. I test drove the vehicle, spoke with several dealers in the area and communicated with them on offers I had received. I ultimately went with them because they dealt with me the same way I dealt with them - Fairly and honestly. We set up the deal via e-mail and when I came in to finalize, everything was exactly as we negotiated, with no surprises and excellent service. Rusty, my sales professional could not have been better and was extremely responsive and professional. If you are interested in a Subaru, you would be well served to talk to these guys, even if you are working with other dealers.I see some negative reviews here which I cannot understand. I admit, I am even surprised how smooth everything went with these guys and was prepared for some kind of "Issues" to come up. There were none and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to buy a Subaru.

I initially went for a first oil change and was in and out in about two hours which is perfectly acceptable to me considering they do not take appointments for maintenance. I received two letters in the mail from Subaru about recalls a couple months later; one was for the moonroof and the second was for the windshield wiper motor. Made the appointment for a few few weeks later as that was when I had off on a Saturday and I know the dealer isn't in the best location.We had the freak snow storm in October 2011 and my wipers quit working. I called the dealer and they said sorry we close at so and so time; make it if you can. I somehow drove home from Staten Island to Brooklyn (where I lived at the time) and a usual 20 minute drive took me two hours.I go to the dealer on Monday morning bright and early and I tell the initial person who is doing the inspection of my car what was wrong and he laughed at me. They have me wait 45 minutes before calling me from the waiting room. I speak to the advisor (Jacob Chako) and next thing I know they accuse me of breaking the wipers. I explained their was a recall and showed them the letter; they didn't seem to care. I asked to speak to the supervisor (Steve Cravotta) and show him the letter and he goes we'll fix it for you this one time since you got the car from this dealer. I agreed but demanded a loaner vehicle as my car would have to sit there over night until the part(s) arrived on the next day.Livid, aggravated, and frustrated for the way I was spoken to, I called Subaru Corporate when I got home and lodged a complaint against the dealership. Corporate told me there was an open recall and it should have been fixed regardless where I got the car.I go back Monday evening to pick up my car and barely say two words to the dealership and my car wasn't even washed. A week later I get my "courtesy call" from some girl and I explain what happened. She is in disbelief and says a manager will contact me by the end of the day. Steve Cravotta calls me saying I should have explained how I how upset I was. I told him it was inexcusable and I filed a complaint with Corporate. I could tell he was upset from the tone in his voice and kept reiterating that I shouldn't have called Corporate. I told him too little too late. We hung up and I have never returned to the dealership. If you want to get a Subaru serviced, take it to Staten Island Subaru. They were excellent, didn't give the hard sell for the "dealer maintenance plan" and my car was washed free of charge when it was returned to me after 2.5 hours.This is my third Subaru and I was very disappointed in this specific dealer and unfortunately, it has left a sour taste in my mouth in regards to the company.

I have brought my Suzuki here for service on several occasions, and I could say a few things about that, but I won't. Most recently I brought my car in for an oil change, an inspection and a fix for a slow leak in one of the tires. Upon returning the car to me, the service manager assured me that they took the tire in question apart, tested it for a leak and found nothing. They resealed it and sent me on my way with a clean bill of health, and didn't charge me for the tire. I found this suspicious since I've been filling the tire every two weeks all summer, but what do I know, I'm a girl. The next morning I got on the LIE and the tire pressure indicator came on. Thinking that I could make it to my destination to check the tire pressure (why wouldn't I, I only had a slow leak, maybe they didn't fill the tire with enough air), that ended up not being the case, and I pulled off the highway. Fortunately there was a gas station with a garage right on the corner. The tire was completely flat, and when the mechanic looked at it, he flat out said those guys are idiots. He tested the valve, which was clearly the source of the leak. Said mechanic replaced the valve and sent me on my way with an air tight (although somewhat damaged) tire. He charged me $15.When I called the dealership and told them what happened, they said bring it in, we'll fix the valve and replace the tire. When I suggested they pay for the repairs since the damage was obviously caused by their service, the service manager said, no way, he had "done me a favor" by looking at the tire to begin with.Since when is putting a customers life in danger a "favor?" Needless to say, I am never going back to Bay Ridge Subaru. Those guys can keep their favors. However, I will be filing a claim against them in small claims court.

Bad experience all around. We live close by so this was the obvious first choice to visit for a Subaru. Had comparative pricing on a new Outback - they did not want to hear anything - they were very independent and aloof (two different sales people on two different occasions, both there for longer than they cared to remember) as apparently there are not too many Subarus coming in these days. The attitude was anything but friendly.After we eventually leased our car from Hudson Subaru in NJ (which was a very positive experience by the way) the car began to smoke after about a week. I drove in to Bay Ridge Subaru at 8:15 am on 6/23/11 after taking my girls to school and asked if they could look at it.I was told by the Service Dept manager (not a disgruntled lower level employee as you could sometimes understand if not tolerate) that maybe I should call Hudson Subaru instead - he saw the new "Hudson" plates (didn't have my NY plates yet)and wanted to know why I didn't buy the car from Bay Ridge rather than help me with my problem.When pressed, he said he would take it but could not tell me when he would be able to even look at it - probably not even that day (PS - I was there 20 min and saw only one car arrive after me.)This manager should be fired yesterday, besides being an unprofessional #%*&, he is running a Subaru dealer - it would have taken all of 20 min to at least see if the problem was serious or a 5 minute fix (which it was in the end.) I had to have the car flatbedded to Hudson Subaru who got me in right away and the car was fixed in 1/2 an hour.The Bay Ridge Service Dept manager was argumentative and nasty, could obviously care less about my problem or my impression of my brand new Subaru.This is the fourth Subaru in my life and I love them but the dealer experience... well lets just say is not nearly as much fun as driving the car.Bay Ridge Subaru gets double zeros from me on both the sales side and the service side - stay away!!!

Jonas Luima in the service department was verbally abusive and was rude after being advised of a mistake he made. I asked him to remove a sticker from the exterior of my brand new car (2 weeks old), and he mistakenly removed anothter sticker else that was irreplaceable. After notifying him of this error he became very densive and began to yell at me and called me stupid. I asked to immediately speak to his manager, Steve, and he put the phone down, not realizing I was not on hold I heard him say "get this stupid b*tch off the phone". He then transferred me to my salesman who had nothing to do with this. I did speak to his manager after calling back several times and he offered an apology and said he would speak to Jonas Luima. The manager did not seem to be taken back or surprised by the way Jonas Luima was speaking to me but he did say this is the first time this has happened. I was treated in the same inexcusable manner by Jonas Luima on 3 seperate occasionas. His lack of customer service is unmatched and should not hold such a position at his place of work. Being verbally abused by the service department is unacceptable. A simple apology for Jonas Luima would have sufficed. He should not have raised his voice and used profane words. I will never again visit this service department, but I do feel that approriate action needs to be taken so that Jonas Louima learns how to deal with customers. He does a great disservice to the entire dealership as well as the Subaru name.

Worst experience with a maintenance service. The owner Steve Cravotta lied to me and told me during 4 hours that my car would be ready in less than one hour. He became extremely rude when I asked him why my car was not ready after 5 hours waiting.I will not recommend this place to anyone and will never give them anymore business.

The sales man is dishonest. He tried to add some hidden charges into the contract. I was glad that I discovered the errors and didn't sign the paper. As my bad experience with the salesman in the dealership, you should avoid going there unless you want to be cheated.

I brought my '98 Legacy GT there over this past winter with $112,000 miles on the clock. I reasoned that a genuine Suby dealer would do a good job on a new clutch (I still had the original in it) and a small oil leak. Wrong, wrong, wrong! From an original estimate of $1,770.00 plus tax, the bill balooned up to over $3,000.00. Jacob Chacko, the service advisor and Steve Cravotta, the manager were always polite and returned my phone calls, but the mechanics are clueless. It took them over a week to find a clutch that "mated" with my car, finally getting an "after market" clutch. The oil leak turned out to be a bad power steering pump. When I brought the car back after three days with the same leak on my garage floor, they insisted that all the expensive work on the seals and rings was justified. I wound up writing a letter to Subaru of North America and to their credit, they sent me a check for $850.00. Stay far, far away from this place! I wouldn't trust them to fix my broiler oven .

Do NOT purchase a vehicle from these people. Their customer service is just HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE....1)They harassed me to purchase an extended warranty...2)When I bought the car, the inside had all kinds of crud in the console (crumbs, dirt, etc..)3)I brought the car to the service center 2 weeks after purchasing it to deal with a cold start problem.. I was told "We are really busy, you should take it somewhere else"4)I brought it back 2 months later at 7am for the same problem and a check engine light.. I was told "We will get back to you by 3pm and may need to keep it overnight... Here I am the next day, 10:30am, I call, they say they haven't even looked at it and will TRY to get to it today.5)I was also told that I should really get the "Tune-Up" because I am close to 60,000 miles. I had the damn thing for 2,500 miles, 2 months.. This should have been done b4 I bought the damn thing... It costs $480.00...Just awful awful awfull....
