On a 100F day I visited the Encinitas BMW dealership to check-out a used X3. The sales assoc Jessica Dill-Schmidt was very accomodating, professional, & provided the information necessary to make a decision. The vehicle came without a back-up camera system but the dealership agreed to upgrade one at no charge. The Certified process added an extended warranty which sealed the deal. I was very happy with the entire car-buying process & would highly recommend this dealership & especially Jessica to anyone interested in a BMW.

I have owned 5 BMWs in last 20 years including an X5 that I returned this week as part of the lease termination. They have demonstrated the worst service for 3 years which made me furious almost every time. Never bothered to fix the BMW recall. On top of that worst sales team attitude, not trust worthy and disrespectful. even when escalated, they ignored. They are nothing compared to Escondido BMW and other dealers in the area. I have never experienced disrespect in any dealership as much as this place

There are many places you could buy a BMW from in Southern California, but in my own personal experience BMW Encinitas is hands down the best BMW dealership in Southern California. My sales person was excellent. Unfortunately, I've had post-delivery issues and management at this business seems interested ONLY in getting me to give them "10's" on their customer satisfaction survey, and NOT on addressing or solving my problems, which they said were "my fault" (definitely not true). Very disappointing. I'll never recommend them to a friend, or purchase another vehicle from this dealer.

Went in to have some problems looked at that I noticed and Mike as well as the team in the service dept. took care of the car. I did need a loaner so that they could try to duplicate the problem and did find that all appeared ok at this time. Will continue to monitor the concern. I called to ask if they could do a price out the door for a certified pre-owned 2013 328i Sportline. They agreed to my price right away, which was a great deal. We went to BMW Encinitas for our latest BMW X5 and had the worst experience of life. I've had the worst customer service which was not only limited to bad customer service but me and my wife were insulted on multiple fronts. We talked to one of their managers "Justin Beck" because the manager whom we were dealing with originally was not in office. Justin was really impossible to talk to and couldn't accommodate our request that we will pick up the car on the next day instead of that day. These were his exact words on the phone "I would rather sell this car to someone else, don't waste my time. I don't have time to deal with you, I have better things to do". We found this very derogatory and xxxxxx, and anyone in our place would. I have had better service while buying a $6 car from toy store than a $60K car from BMW Encinitas.We hung up the phone and dealt with other people to proceed with the deal, since our old car didnt have much life in it. When we went to sign the contract for the car, we came across their finance manager "Eddie Alriz" who had a really bad attitude. With his utterly bad attitude, he gave half information while made us go to dealership twice for a contract which doesn't take more than 20mins to get finished.The only two good people we dealt with at dealership were Adham and Kim Rosenberry, if it were not them, we would not even have purchased the car.

The team at BMW Encinitas was outstanding! Jeremy provided excellent customer service that was "above and beyond" what I'm accustomed to when car buying. I started by calling in about a vehicle I'd seen online. Since I'm about 2 hours away from the dealership, I didn't want to waste a 4-hour round trip if I had to tolerate typical car dealer nonsense. I was pleasantly surprised that BMW Encinitas was willing to talk numbers over the phone, and genuinely didn't want to waste my time. They assured me that the numbers we talked were workable, and that it' d be worth my time to come down. True to their word, they had the right car at the right price. They valued my trade reasonably as well. All in all, it was an easy car buying experience. My wife and I had a good chat with Jeremy as fellow military veterans, and (this is highly unusual) he even offered us concert tickets to see a major band in LA after the sale was done. Seriously, great customer service, good pricing, and I love my M3! Thanks to the BMW Encinitas team.

I purchased my 750Li from Encinitas BMW just over a year ago. Anthony Razzouki is the online sales manager who assisted me in purchasing my gently used 2007 vehicle with crazy low milage. Anthony made the buying experience simple. This vehicle was initially purchased from their dealership, and he treated me like a repeat customer. There were minor things like the rear window screen and an alignment that was thrown in the due bill to be repaired, but Anthony had the rims refinished because he said "we can't have you leaving this place with your rims looking like that!" I think it's that above and beyond attitude that solidified my judgement of this establishment.Since the previous owner utilized Encinitas BMW for all of her vehicle maintenance, my car was basically "born and raised" at Encinitas BMW. I followed suit with servicing my vehicle there. Anthony talked me into purchasing an extended warranty which has been a God send in monetary savings!My service consultant is Mike Voiles. He is the most professional service rep I've ever dealt with along with the fact that I believe he has my best interest in mind. I trust that when he gives me a price, that is the bottom line and he's done his due diligence to get me to the lowest price possible.I actually have a friend who owns a BMW service shop but I still take my car to Encinitas BMW because although I may save a little money here and there by utilizing my friend's shop, I am a loyal customer who believes that the quality of service, across the board provided by Encinitas BMW, makes using their services a no brainer.Their free vehicle loaner program is the best. I have never had a loaner vehicle with more than 2000 miles on it. It's basically like driving a new car every time!I believe it'd be hard for anyone to find a better BMW dealership that gets five stars from sales to service across the board like BMW Encinitas. I got there and didn't go over the car as well as I should have but being in the car industry most of my life I assumed a new car bmw dealer wouldn't put junk out on the lot to rip off the locals and ruin their reputation, I was wrong... On the way home I noticed a tail lamp failure, I didn't think much of it but when I got home I found the light was working but the malfunction indicator was still on and this is a bigger problem then just a bulb. The next morning I walked up to the drivers side and got in, I started to adjust my mirrors when I saw something looked wavy and not straight on the passengers side (saw this in the mirror). I got out to investigate and was horrified to see that the bmw I just purchased and was assured by the dealer had never been in a accident had clearly been in a accident and repaired poorly. I called and they tried to tell me that just because a car has been in a accident doesn't lower its value... idiots... then tried to tell me if the car has been repaired properly then it shouldn't matter, I stated if the car had been repaired properly I wouldn't have noticed the repair... They reluctantly took the car back, I told them to sell me a brand new X5 at a good price and they did. I had a X5 built to my specs and waited for it to be ready. I stated I wanted to take delivery at the BMW factory as I saw online available and even asking several times for this they ignored it and sent the car to the dealer in SD. Whatever lets go get our new car, I get there and the car had 10 miles on it, this may seem like no big deal but when a car is delivered to a dealer from the factory it comes with under 2 miles on it every time (I sold cars for over 20 years so yes I know this for a fact). My car also had none of the little xxxxxxx on the tires that are there when they are new. I have to assume the rest but I believe they took my car out and beat it, did donuts or something because the driver side rear tire had a rip in it when I got home and as I stated there were no xxxxxxx on the tires and the car had 10 miles on it. Then the phone calls start. I would get a phone call and ignore it because I was at work and it would immediately ring again so I would silence it again, then it would ring again right away. It was like I was being harassed by a drunk ex girlfriend or something. After this happened a couple times I called the dealer and asked them to stop calling me, they assured me the calls would stop, they didn't. After a few weeks of calls I called and bitched out the salesmen who sold me the car. Once again he assured me the calls would stop. A week later same thing calling and calling and not leaving time between calls making my phone ring over and over while I'm in a meeting. Finally I answered and it was the very salesmen who assured me the calls would stop!! I was so mad he was acting like a child (Juan Duff), this clearly must have been because they were mad I returned the first car and mad I wanted to order my car the way I wanted it instead of picking one off the lot. This is a run down dump not worthy of a BMW badge on the building. The place is falling apart in every way. The sales team is weak, the cars are junk. the building is falling apart, they have no idea how to treat customers and apparently no idea how to pick or repair used cars since the first car had been in a accident and either the used car manager didn't notice or their body shop did a horrible job fixing it. Either way the used car manager shouldn't be working there because he either couldn't tell a car had been hit when he bought it or he didn't check the body work after their body shop fixed it. Either way he doesn't deserve his job and should go to a $5k or less lot in the ghetto or something if those are the kind of cars he picks and sells.GO TO ANY OTHER BMW DEALER IN THE WORLD!!

I am so incredibly impressed with BMW Encinitas. I recently purchased a BMW X5 and worked with Anthony Razzuoki, Internet Sales Manager. Anthony was knowledgeable, patient and exceeded my customer service expectations. He never rushed me or pressured me to make an immediate decision and only showed me cars that were what I described and best fit my lifestyle. I made my final decision after Anthony left work and knowing that I had limited time availability, he turned around (albeit in a completely different part of the county) at 8:30pm to get the deal done. We were at the dealership until nearly 11:00pm and neither Anthony nor Nelson, the Finance Manager every made us feel like we had inconvenienced them by keeping them so late. This is a true example of exceptional customer service and I can honestly say that I will never take my BMW business elsewhere. Last but not least I absolutely LOVE my car, this is my 3rd BMW, but the only one that is exactly what I have always wanted. Thank you Anthony and Nelson!

No a great buying experience for my wife's first luxury car purchase. The dealership is packed with cars but not much space for anything else. Even though we made an appointment to test drive a specific car it took over 30 minutes just to get it out of the lot because another car was parked in front of it. It took a total of 3.5 hours to lease the vehicle we already selected. We were not offered water or giving any updates as to what was going on. The manager tried to argue with me after we had waited for over an hour just to sign the paper work. Not a luxury brand experience and I have had much better service purchasing another BMW at our local dealer. Even our local Ford dealer has better customer service and gives you a coupon to go to their cafe and get snacks while you wait. The online services were also not registered to my wife's email address correctly.

This review is for the service department at BMW Encinitas. This was my first visit to this dealership for service on my BMW X5 5.0i. First and foremost, i live in downtown San Diego and was searching for appointments on Sun across all dealerships in the area and they did not have any appointments until Thu of this week??? BMW Encinitas had availability on Monday starting at 7am. My service advisor, Darren Mauch, is one of the best SA's i have ever worked with. Extremely professional, knowledgeable and communicated flawlessly throughout the entire process. Darren went above and beyond the call of duty, during the diagnostic process noticed that my front brakes were close to their end of life, BMW Encinitas replaced the front rotors, pads and sensors during this visit saving me a trip. This level of service is exceptional and has exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Darren for his dedication and customer focus, he should be recognized for such great work by the BMW Encinitas leadership team. I will not be going to any other dealership other than BMW Encinitas for all my future service and sales needs. Thank you again Darren, job well done!

I absolutely had such a great experience with my sales person Adham Ahmadi TaleshBMW Encinitas..he has the patience of a saint as I was so indecisive about what sub or color to get, I went back 3 different times and each time he was so professional and informative. I had an issue with making sure my dog crate fit in the sub and he even put it in the sub to make sure it would work as I have a show dog to cart around.The car and ease of financing and purchasing it from beginning to end was so easy! The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. My only callout is that they said the transaction would be completed in 45 minutes as I had a prior appointment. In reality I arrived at the dealership at 3:30 PM and I was not able to meet my appointment at 5:00 PM. As it turns out it took more than 5 hours before I was able to leave with the car. Evidently there were other larger transactions that were being handled before mine and the finance dept was backed up. I mention this only because I made my decision to buy the car and I told my sales person that I could return later to complete the transaction. He kept telling me I was next in line for completion indicating he did not want me to leave.

I have been to dealers that make you feel queasy about test driving too many of their cars for too long, and on more than one day. At Encinitas BMW, there was no hint of that attitude. They let me test drive as many cars and for as long as I needed to be able to make a decision. Ash is the worst dealer I met in my in southern California. Guy was outright rude and acted as if he is doing me favor talking to me. At first I assumed I was miss-reading his attitude while on the phone. But then his later comments confirmed his disdain for his customers. "Get over yourself and recognize that the clients that by these cars are more accomplished and more intelligent than you will ever be." On top of that he was deceitful with a bait and switch. Watch out! Dont trust him if he outbids another offer you have. He will pad it with some other cost, fee or interest rate to make it mush worse than your other offer. He is not typical of other dealerships who politely told me, "that's a great offer and we will not be able to match it, we advise you take it."

Came here few years back after seeing 07 335i convertible. called in and salesman name Jeremy S. took my info and stated he will send me pics of the car asap... within few hrs I got the pics and decided to go down to encinitas bmw to check out the car myself w/ my wife. met Jeremy in person and he was professional from the get go. Went on test drive and when we got back my wife and I decided to make an offer..after few counters we came to a deal that we was happy thr terms. Unfortunately my credit was so bad that I wasn't happy w/ apr...after 2 days...we decided to take car back w/ no hassle due this dealership had 3 days/150 miles returned policy. I knew exactly the car I wanted purchase, so I took a trip from San Diego up to the BMW dealership of Encinitas to find out if I'd get a good deal within my price range after checking out their website and being reffered to them by a friend, i went over to find out if their customer service is any better than the BMW dealerships I've visited out in SD just few days prior; i quickly found out the quality of their service when i was approached by a Sales Rep named Murat who made it very easy to find the vehicle I wanted and get the buying process a lot simpler and faster than I even expected. Though meeting him for the first time I felt as if he's been a friend for years, a real great straight up kind of guy you would want any car sales man to be. Murat and his associates were really friendly and helpful. They offer nothing but great customer service! I was very satisfied with the help and services they provided me with at the BMW Encinitas and I would highly reccomend them to anyone. Within less than two hours I was on my way home in my new 2015 428i Coupe. ?

Bought on 3/28/15 a used 2012 BMW X3 certified not knowing it had three rear light LED panel system that were out before buying the BMW X3. And 5 weeks later inner light LED panel system when out. Originally it took over a month for BMW Mike Hegnei to decide to fix the problem with Eagle Community Credit Unioc thru Toyata AutoNation Irvine. So on May 2, 2015, they replaced three of the rear LED light panel system I pick up car on May 4, 2015. Five week later the four inner LED light panel system when out I called Mike Voiles, service Dept to see what needed to be done and made an appointment for Saturday, June 27, 2015. BMW changed there viewed and decided to charge me on invoice #543230 with a small discount a total of $398.17. Now, I had the BMW X3 less tha 90 days and it needed all rear LED light panel system replaced. Know wonder the previous owner got ridge of the BMW X3, three of the four rear LED light panel are out and to replace at BMW retail costs would have close to $2,000.00Buyer beware the LED light system is not check, otherwise they would if corrected the problem before resale it to public or another car dealership in this Toyota AuoNation Irvine...I am not a happy camper on how I was used and how I am out another half tank gas to get to BMW of Encinitas and back home to Garden Grove, CA...J. I dropped by BMW Encinitas to check out the pre-owned lot around 4:30 pm, just by chance they would have the car I was looking to purchase.. And there it was.... Acura MDA... Jordan Fisher greeted me, I explained to him my interest in the car, he immediately got the keys for me to test drive and I was sold on the car. Unfortunately, while he was picking up the keys, another family pulled up to test drive the same car so the pressure was on. He did tell me that he would do his best to get as much for my trade in as possible but was disappointed when the numbers came to me. Not sure if it was because they had another seller waiting to buy the car if I did not and did not need to wheel and deal. I kept my car and moved on to also purchase the Acura. He did try to make the process of purchasing the car a quick as possible but it seemed to take longer than expected for whatever reason...My husband met me at the dealership at 7:00 (yes I was still there), we went over all the DMV paper work with the finance manager and then test drove the car again. We did a final inspection and noticed there were a few dings and scratches of the the Manager nicely agreed to take care of the body work for me next week. Jorday, took the car to get a full tank of gas and personally delivered it to my house at 8:30pm. My experience was very good at BMW Encinitas and would definitely recommend family and friends to check them out when their time comes to shop for a vehicle. I have purchased 4 new vehicles before, one on the east coast & three in LA over the last 20 years. At BMW Encinitas I worked with Juan Duff on the purchase of a 2011 M3, first certified pre-owned vehicle I have purchased. He was knowledgeable about the vehicle/alternative, did not use any pressure tactics whatsoever and ran a transparent process. They presented the original invoice for review and the service department's summary of reconditioning/repair work performed by dealer. Folks from the manager through the service department were friendly and trustworthy. I would definitely utilize BMW Encinitas again and highly recommend this dealership to others in the market for the CPO or new vehicle.

I was working with other dealers in San Diego to purchase a new BMW X5, but they were unable to locate the car with the options I wanted. A quick online search led me to BMW of Encinitas who had a much larger selection of vehicles than any of the other dealers in town. I reached out via email and got a quick response from William Sullivan, indicating that he likely had the car I wanted in stock. I showed up in the showroom to have a look pretty much immediately.William worked with me, carefully understanding my requirements for the X5 I wanted, and spent some time with me searching their inventory online. We located a couple of potential matches, and he drove me over to their nearby lot. He located the specific cars we'd looked at back in his office for me, then waited patiently for a good half hour or so as I looked at pretty much all of the X5s there and made a few calls home. William helped me go car to car to find the exact X5 I wanted, opening the ones that were interesting and going back and forth to get keys for probably half a dozen different cars. He helped me locate the perfect match, and allowed me to test drive it.William and his managers ended up making me an excellent deal on the car. I had arrived with a high trade-in offer for my existing car, a firm price in mind I wanted to pay for the new car, and was - frankly - unreasonable in the amount I was willing to budge. I initially walked away from the negotiations, but William and his manager Ash followed up with me via email, worked with me a little more, and made me an excellent deal on the perfect X5 I could not refuse.I got an excellent car and a great price, and am now looking forward to returning to this dealership in six months with my 335 lease is up.

I will never buy or recommend this dealership to friends family or buy from another Auto Nation dealership. I've left multiple messages and emails for a call back or response regarding my extended warranty. It's been over a month and I still haven't recieved my extended warranty information which i was told was sent in the mail. They also sold me the car with an existing warranty which expires 100k miles or October 2015. I go to have my car serviced for a problem with my electric folding mirror and service tells me there is no existing warranty on record. Next step will be to take the dealership Encinitas BMW or Auto Nation to court. Open public, save yourself the trouble and hassle and go somewhere else where customer service is priority.

I went to BMW Encinitas with the intention of leasing a convertible as I had just recently relocated to California from the east coast. I had not researched the model choices and associated prices prior to my impromptu visit so, when it came time to discuss numbers, I quickly learned that the convertible I was looking at would have resulted in a lease payment that was over my budget. Murat Ebesek, the Sales Consultant with whom I was working, spent a great deal of time looking at creative solutions. He located several cars that he felt would be more economical yet still meet my needs and desires. While they were not convertibles, the models he suggested met my size, body style, performance and cost preferences. Over a period of about 3 days, Murat answered all of my emails, texts and calls in a timely manner and continually presented options until we narrowed to the best option. He was friendly, courteous, available, and patient and he did not push me to make decisions, nor did he push me to spend more than my budget would allow. I felt as though Murat's focus was not on the sale but on developing a happy customer. The negotiation process was fair and transparent and Murat was (and still is) very informative. I would recommend BMW Encinitas, and specifically Murat, to anyone.

Jeremy Shadburn is the salesperson to speak with if you are looking for an M product. He knows his stuff about all Bimmers, but has particular expertise with the M's. I take pride in the preparation I do before buying a car to completely understand the product I'm buying. I typically know more about the cars I'm buying than the salespeople who sell them. That's less a statement of my car knowledge, and more of a statement about the inferior training car manufacturers and dealers do in preparing their sales reps. I bought an M6 Gran Coupe from Jeremy and he was quick to confirm what I already thought I knew about the car, and provided a lot more info about the technology and driving mechanics of the car. He was a true professional throughout the entire buying experience. His focus on taking care of me, making sure my interests were met financially and otherwise, certainly trumped what was in the best interest for him and the dealership. He was fair and that is all I can ask for. I highly recommend that you stop by and see him. I gave the Facilities a lower score because BMW Encinitas needs a makeover. It's in a prime location, and it has the space to build a premier showroom and lot. For a customer who knows exactly what he/she is looking for, it's no big deal. But an outdated, cramped showroom, an overcrowded lot, and cramped sales offices/cubes gives off a bad impression. I think the ownership knows that they need to put money into the facilities, and with the amount of M inventory they have, these impressive and expensive cars need a better home.

Highly recommend!!! I had been 'browsing' the car ads for a few weeks now, and stumbled on a car I liked at Encinitas BMW. Though its a good 45 min from my house, I decided to make the drive to give the car a whirl, not really expecting to make a purchase. Though the car I initially was interested in had already sold, the internet sales manager Ray showed me a car that had just arrived and wasn't even processed in their system, but based on what he sensed about my tastes encouraged me to take it for a drive. The car was a perfect fit, had everything I could ever want in a car and more, plus the price was more than fair considering the upgrades that were included and the condition of the car. Although I know you are supposed to haggle over trade in, and car price ect. I much appreciated the no-nonsense approach Ray took when we looked over the numbers. He told me what my trade in was worth, and where he could go with the car price and suggested we just get to brass tacks rather than play with the figures like so many sales people do. Not only were the figures comfortable for me, there was no pressure to buy and he even offered to call me if something he thought would be a better fit came along at a future date. Although I was eager to drive the car immediately, the dealership has very high standards about how they sell a car, and were very insistent the car needed to go through their refinishing process to ensure it was up to their quality expectations, and they even discovered one of the tires was patched so the tire was replaced with a new one. More than worth the days wait, and I respect the fact that even though I was pressuring them into just letting me take the car home they preferred to make sure it was perfect before releasing it. Even after I had purchased the car, Ray was very thorough in making sure I was satisfied, even offering to help me get some of my upgrades out of my old car despite the fact I had already signed on the dotted line so to speak. At every aspect of the buying experience my expectations were exceeded and I can wholeheartedly recommend this dealership to anyone interested in a car. Just be careful, they are so good at sensing your needs they will probably find a car for you that you just cant live without, I know I did and I'm much happier for it.

I rarely give a one star, but this is one such case where I believe it is warranted. I purchased a BMW Certified used X5. You get a 60 day warranty with your purchase. All went beautify for 70 days when the battery died on me for no apparent reason. I had it tested and they said it was a bad battery, likely the original from 2007, meaning it was never once replaced. When you purchase a used vehicle, you do not expect perfection. But, there are certain things you do expect. Good tires, clean oil and air filters. These are all things you can see. With the battery, it's in the trunk, under the liner and tucked away--takes a screw driver to get to it. In fact, when it died, it took me a few minutes to find it. But, upon doing so, the negative cable had a white flaky puss around it. That means it was visibly old and that Encinitas BMW, did not check the battery before selling it to me. I took it in and they offered me a discount for a new battery. Even with the discount, I paid 500.00 to have the battery installed. I voiced that I didn't think it was fair to have to pay for a new battery after such a short period of time, that they would never do this to me with tires or something visible and they said, "Sorry." I said, I'm sorry too. I love Beemers and will always drive one. I'd never give that up. But, there are many dealerships in Southern California and I'll go elsewhere next time. I feel unappreciated as a customer of Encinitas BMW and that I was treated unfairly. 70 days, 10 days past the warranty, shouldn't require a new battery. Goodbye Encinitas BMW. You have lost what would have been a life long customer. Can't wait for Molly B to give a patent response on how sorry she is to hear that I had a bad experience and then do nothing about. Save it.

I found a 2012 BMW X5 online. The price was right, and I wanted that car. I called Ray Ramsey who I had e-mailed about the car. He came in to the dealership outside his working hours and gave me a test drive of the car. It was getting late, so I asked if I could do something for the dealership to hold the car. The staff stayed late and went through all of the paperwork to get me that car. I drove home ion it that night. I've not seen such excellent customer service when buying a car.

Usually I know more than the sale staff after my own exhaustive research, but Juan had me covered. I met practically everyone at the dealer through the course of delivery and one was nicer than the other. I expect the service to be up to par as is always has been. Finance was a breeze without a hint of pressure to purchase a thing. This is my very first M car and with it comes a "genius" who comes to my home,programs the door opener and walks me through the extensive iDrive. This may just turn out to be my favorite of all cars, and purchasing process.

Well , I must say the entire process was painless and dare I say pleasurable. The day after I showed up around 6, test drove a couple that I liked and then started the leasing process. I gave them my budget, and found out that my credit is not good!!! The sales manager and the finance manager did everything they could to meet my budget which was pretty amazing since I had been to other BMW dealerships and nobody even bothered to say hello to me!! While shopping for a new vehicle I visited BMW of Encinitas. I wasn't planning on sharing my concerns but the the GM of that dealership emailed me asking how my recent visit went. I replied to him describing several concerns and 4 days later, haven't heard back. Here is what I recently experienced at BMW Encinitas. I expressed interest in coming to look at vehicles and was in touch with one if the internet sales people. I was very clear with the sales person that I would consider a lease on a new car or a certified pre owned model only. I had the opportunity to look at three pre owned X1s while at BMW Encinitas This visit was tiresome. I spent a significant amount of time waiting alone, meandering the lot, while the sales person was running getting keys or checking on other things. While with the sales person I had the opportunity to test drive a white pre owned X1. This car was marked as certified pre owned in one of the emails between the sales person and myself. When I arrived at the dealership I found out that the car wasn't CPO and that it would cost "several thousands more" to make it such. The man working in the pre owned department didn't apologize for the mistake or try to find any middle ground that would help me consider this non CPO X1. I found the pre owned area to be a cluttered mess. There seemed to be too much going on for the space available. The keys for pre owned cars were hung up on a tattered board (which featured a notice to employes that they would be reprimanded if they didn't check out the keys prior to a drive. Customers shouldn't be able to see, in plain sight, this kind of notice from employer to employee). In addition, there were stacks of papers piled up throughout much of the office. Furthermore, the lot isn't big enough for the dealership's inventory. It was necessary to move 4 cars (this was incredibly time consuming) for the white X1 I looked at to have access to the road. While looking at the white X1 the sales person was telling me about the car's headlights and mentioned that "they help illuminate the road." While this is only my second BMW and I may not be familiar with all of the various features offered by BMW, I am familiar with the general purpose of a headlight. I wasn't able to get clear and concise answers to most of my questions. From initial email contact to my departure, the sales person seemed disinterested in learning about my needs and wants in a new vehicle. After the test drive I mentioned that I'd really like to look at some new X1s and 320i/328is. I was never given the opportunity to do so. Rather, this white (non CPO) X1 was pushed on to me. Even though the car wasn't really what I wanted, I allowed the dealership to run some numbers to see what kind of payments I'd be looking at. I was not able to consider the initial offer. A second offer was made. While it was lower in price, it wasn't acceptable to me given that the car wasn't CPO like I had initially been told it was. I told the sales person that I'd like some time to go to lunch and consider the offer. I was then asked what it would take to earn my business. I again mentioned that I'd like some time to consider the offer and requested the keys to my current vehicle be given back to me promptly.On my way out, I was introduced to the sales manager on duty. I was again asked what it would take to get me in that white X1. I mentioned that the car wasn't exactly what I wanted but for me to begin considering it the price would need to be lower. Some numbers were tossed back and forth to no avail. We were at an impasse. I mentioned to the manager that I had a significantly lower priced offer on a brand new X1 from a nearby BMW dealership. Given that what I want is available elsewhere, why would I buy an expensively priced used car that isn't what I was told it was?Throughout my entire visit at BMW Encinitas everyone I interacted with seemed stressed, tense and disinterested in selling me a car that meets my needs and wants. Sadly, I can only describe this experience as a disorganized mess. I have always received great customer service from BMW dealerships in the San Diego and Phoenix areas. This visit to BMW Encinitas was different than what I have become accustomed to while working with other dealerships.

The car was horrendous, scratches galore, chipped paint amd when we opened the door sand and dirt was everywhere. In no way is this how you display vehicles for sale, another note the vehicle was a retired loaner and the paperwork the dealer gave me the day before showed 400 less miles then was actually on the car. So the car was continued to be used by the dealer.Jessica is the worst sales manager and didn't even care.

I went to the Service Department at BMW of Encinitas to have a tire installed onto my car that was recomended by my service advisor. My service advisor said that my spare tire that was in my trunk was brand new and good. Because I get my car serviced at bmw of encinitas I trusted the service advisors judgement. The service advisor took my car threw the service drive to a technician and installed the tire. The tire that was installed onto my 3series BMW was a 12 year old tire. When the service advisor took my car back he failed to write up a work order and just instructed the technician to install the tire with out following normal protocol. If BMW of Encinitas would of done there job then they would of noticed the tire was 12years old and not safe to drive on then they would of advised me to not install it. Instead they installed the tire and sent me on my way. The whole time I was driving I did not know I was driving with an old unsafe tire. I did not like the way my car was driving so I took my car to discount tire to have them check my tire and rotate them. Discount tire then noticed the 12year old tire on the rear driver side and asked me who installed it. Discount tire then advised me that any tire 8 years or older should not be installed on any car because of the un-safeness of driving on this 12 year old tire, because the tire was 12years old and unsafe per discount tires safety rules- they were not aloud to rotate my tires because of it being old and unsafe. If I did not go to discount tire I would of never of realized the old tire that was on my car and anything could of happened to me while driving, especially on the freeway. If bmw service would of followed there normal required protocol then they would not of put this old tire on my car. Once bmw was notified of what they had done,Greg Bobbier service manager admitted that bmw did not do there job but continued to treat me like crap even though bmw was in the wrong. My BMW was not safe to drive on the freeway and I did let Greg Bobbier (service manager) be aware of that. But service manager Greg Bobbier would not install my car with a new safe tire rite away even though this situation was BMW of Encinitas fault. They are horrible with customers, they do not have good customer service skills. I am letting everyone know about there horrible mistake! Never go there! If this was Harloff Bmw this would of never of ever happened. When something did go wrong with Harloff Bmw they took care of it ASAP with no question asked. Such a shame do not know how this place stays in buisness.

I went to BMW Encinitas in response to an ad for a used 335i. I was greeted by Billy Freyberger who was very friendly while being very professional in his approach, great guy. I originally spoke on the phone with Greg Holland regarding the ad for the 335i and Billy introduced me to Greg and he took it from there. Greg like everyone I met at BMW Encinitas was very professional but there was no used car sales pitch at any time. They just answered all of my questions regarding the car and its history in a very honest and thorough way. Greg could not have been more helpful during the initial discussion on the car and then with any follow up after the car was purchased. His sales approach while being unassuming was extremely thorough and one of the main reasons for my purchase. Any issues with the car were addressed beyond my expectations and the car has been perfect. Greg really made my first experience with BMW Encinitas an exceptional one and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new or used BMW. Kim in finance was also a pleasure to work with and made the paperwork part of the transaction quick and easy. Overall I was very impressed with the entire dealership.

Drove 30 miles north to look at their new and used inventory. I ended up talking to a very helpful dealer who knew his stuff. After talking and trying to work a deal on a new X1 we came to a stand still and I decided to leave. After a couple days they called me and said they were willing to make the deal we were trying to work. I scheduled a time and day to come up and that morning they called and confirmed my appointment. I arrived at the scheduled time and my salesmen was no where to be found. About 20 minutes later he showed up and he wasn't happy. He had one of the two keys to the vehicle but NO vehicle. They literally lost it! After another almost two hours of waiting they tried to sell me on a similar X1 but it was $500 more because of an extra option. I agreed to the extra expense but ultimately the manager wouldn't make the deal. 60 miles round trip, a few hours wasted, and I end up going home without a new car and their salesmen ends up without his commission. Such a wasted day and crappy experience. I will not go back nor will I recommend this dealership. I blame the wasted time, energy, and money directly on their management. Zero management equals zero leadership which equals none of my hard earned money. I hope you treat your other customers better!

My husband and I flew into San Diego from San Jose, Ca to pick up our custom order BMW 550 i Xdrive from the BMW dealership in Encinitas. This was the 2nd time we ended up flying into San Diego to pick up a BMW from this dealership. Everytime the purchase experience is excellent. In the case of my custom ordered car, the team waited til the morning of the car pick up day to remove all paint/car protection material. They had just started to apply the final paint protection coatings and finishing touch up activities when we arrived at the lot. The sales person does the heavy lifting and prep work while you relax in a comfy seat getting excited about driving the car of the lot. We are returning customers at this dealership. No dealership we have visited so far in the bay area meets the customer excellence and competitiveness BMW encinitas is providing.

Walked in on a Sunday afternoon of course not expecting to walk away with a new car and a few hours later there I was driving home in my new X6! I knew I wanted it but the entire process from start to finish was so smooth and easy; nothing like previous buying experiences I've dealt with in the past. Bought a used 328i in January. The salesman, Sean was very pleasant and really let the car sell itself. Did not feel pressured, negotiations were the usual back and forth but we ended up with a fair price for both of us. Takes a while to complete the sales process with lots of paperwork, but the upside is that the car gets detailed while you are waiting and did have a full tank of gas. Overall the experience was about as good as it gets when you buy a car, car is great and I would recommend the dealership.

Made service appt in advance. Brought it in on a Thursday for some TSB's and a recall. By 5 pm no status phone call. Called and was told they are 5 hrs behind. Friday by 2pm no status update phone call. I called and was told they are "waiting to hear from BMW to authorize". Me: I need my car by the end of the day Monday, am going on a business trip for 10 days and want it parked in my garage. Them: Once we open a service ticket we can't release the car until the work is done. Me: Are you kidding me? There is a TSB for one problem and they are telling me my battery is bad. I said reset and try with a shop battery. Problem still there. Not battery. They blew me off on a warranty covered complaint. Now that it is out of warranty they want to charge me to fix it.This is my second and last BMW and last visit w/ present car to this stealership. BMW's business model is to build and sell a good product at a decent price then do the minimum under warranty and wait so they can charge you for services. BMW in general and this dealership in particular are not customer service oriented. Next time will go back to a Lexus.

I bought a 2006 BMW 550i on February 16th of 2013 and I purchased a full warranty on the car. After two weeks of driving, I noticed a weird noise like a knocking sound coming out of the engine when the car starts moving on the first gear. I took the car to the service shop on a Thursday and I had a guy named Erin help me. The manager, Tim, took my car for a test drive and then told me the sound is normal for manual cars, even though it doesn't sound normal as I had a manual car for 6 years before I buy this car and I can tell whether it's normal or not. Anyways, he agreed to take the car in after I insisted. Erin promised he would call me the next day and tell me what's wrong with the car, if something is wrong. He was friendly. Anyways, four days after and I still didn't get a call, so I called Erin on Monday and left a voice message. He calls me back and tells me nothing is wrong with the car and the hold was because they were waiting for Tim's signature to release the car but he didn't bother to call me and let me know. Then Erin calls me Tuesday telling me the car is ready. When I went to get my car, they didn't give me any paper work to show what tests were done on the car so I have no proof they even touched the car, and I'm still hearing the same sound again. The guys were friendly but I wasn't satisfied with the service especially since the car is still under two warranties, the dealer's 60 days warranty and the 3 years warranty I purchased. On top of that, Erin asks me to give the service department a 5 rating. Overall, I'm not happy with the service and I'm planing to take the car to another shop, and if something is wrong with it, I won't be paying for any costs, that's for sure.

I contacted the dealer via email and Peter was quick to respond to my questions. It then took him 2 days to respond to my offer. He then sent me an email saying the offer was accepted. But he never called me even thought he had my number. I called him hours later to ask what the next step was and where to wire transfer the money. The info he sent was not enough for my bank to send the money. I called the dealership several times in order to get the necessary information. They did not acknowledge the money was received for 3 days! Then it took 3 more days before they sent the paperwork for me to sign. It has now been 14 days that they have had my money. Which left my account 17 days ago and I STILL do not have the title to the car!!! They have refused to answer my emails and phone calls. Buyers BEWARE!! They are helpful until you send the money then they ignore you!

Horrible customer service, Kim is rude and not professional especially over the phone. Never had my license plates. When I called and asked nicely she was rude and told me to check the car as if I was a child and hung up. Left Jorge a multiple amount of messages and no response or thru via email or text. It's funny how quickly they respond when trying to sell you a $50k car, but once your signed and gone they won't lift a finger. This dealership has not even had someone at the front desk or steadily answering phone lines since I purchased my car in July!!! Jorge wouldn't even help me locate my warranty information and with the license plates, Kim said she had "taken care" of the in October after I called her in September and when I still did not recieve them and called her after getting a ticket for no plates, she said "I did my job, you need to deal with it". So if you did you job, and you do this everyday for a living, how come you can get it right? Incompetence at its highest at this dealership ALL throughout. I would NEVER reccommend anyone to EVER do business with them. They lost another 2 BMW sales from my family because of they horrible service and dishonesty.

Our experience at BMW Escondido was exceptional. Our client advisor Jeremy Shadburn was professional, knowledgable, and attentive. He listened to what we wanted and showed us what he had available. At no time was he pushy, nor did he attempt to interest us in anything else we weren't looking for. He was able to quickly and effectively provide us with the price we were looking to pay without any back-and-forth haggling over price. It is solely the experience we had due to the efforts of Jeremy that will bring us back to this dealership as long as he is still working with them.The only portion of our experience that I would grade poorly was strictly due to the finance department. I was not financing my vehicle with BMW. The first individual we worked with seemed overwhelmed and his knowledge of the process was below average. The second individual demonstrated terrible customer service, unwilling to go the extra mile with a phone call to his finance superiors to ensure we had everything we needed regarding the sale. Instead he provided a phone number and basically said "good luck". This is the same individual that played loud music during our time in the sales office, while we were trying to complete the sale. It was a very unprofessional environment in the finance office.

BMW Encinitas is by far the best in San Diego. They are attentive, follow up with you, and really want to find the best option for you that meets your wants and needs. Jeremy explained to us what was going to happen in the process. He showed us all the features on the new car. He emphasized that he would be available to take care of any problems, for the long term and short term. We had one problem with the factory and Jeremy promised that it would be fixed. The car came with the wrong color interior trim. The financial part went very smoothly and quickly. The finance manager was very helpful, fun and friendly.

Communication is key for me and from my phone calls to my emails to even my text messages - were all returned promptly and consistently. In my view, the selection of BMW's both new and certified and the various color combinations available are the best in the market. Justin Beck perfectly represents this dealership, which is arrogant, lazy and unreliable. BMW should take a good hard look at whether they want this bunch of people from the owner down to represent them. The cars outside are filthy, covered in bird droppings. We went there a number of days and no attempts were made to clean them or pick up trash. The entire place is seedy. But the staff is terrible. The whole lot should be let go, with Justin leading the pack. The one star reviews on YELP certainly tell the full picture. We tried very hard to buy a particular car from this dealership. We even located the exact car and it could have been easily transferred in. We were handed to Justin, who is their "most experienced" with three years under his belt. Well, even though he only had to get the car transferred in, even that was apparently too much for him to handle. He ignored our calls and blew us off twice. We had money in hand! A cash purchase! Car located! How difficult is this??? I guess since it was 'only' a mid-$30 price and not a $100,000 price, he couldn't be bothered. This went on for a month and finally we called the dealer in Las Vegas, Desert BMW, who flew us over, made other travel arrangements and had the car ready to go. They gave us a great price and conducted themselves the way that a BMW dealership should - professional and intelligent. I hope you read this, BMW of America. This dealership needs to be cancelled. These people are such losers and they make BMW look very bad. CONSUMERS BEWARE: you will be treated badly and overcharged.

Of all the car-buying experiences I have ever had, the one at BMW of Encinitas was by far the greatest. When I totaled my BMW 325i I was completely unprepared to suddenly have to buy a new car and honestly quite nervous to be rushed into choosing something that in the end I may be unhappy with if I wasnt careful.In my search I was sent by friends to sales managers at two different BMW dealers in the Los Angeles area. There I learned what my options could be but wasnt convinced that they were the right choices. I had always known what I (eventually) wanted my next car to be, clearly an upgrade- a 335i to be exact, but given the circumstances I was realizing that I may have to settle for less. A dear friend sent me the number of Darrin Fetterolf at BMW of Encinitas. After just a brief conversation, he not only convinced me to make the 2+ hour drive down, but listened to my explanation of what Id seen, what I thought I could do, and somehow read between the lines, finding exactly what I was looking for, only better a 335d (Diesel) with every package I needed. Im still a skeptic so I was still a bit hesitant. I waited a week and ultimately committed to making the drive down in my rental car. Peter Gautille called for my ETA and had my car ready for me when I got there. While Darrin was in meetings I met his partner Ray Pezzi greeting me upon arrival. Not only did Peter listen to everything I wanted and needed, when Ray came to check on us he listened to my desired look of the car-a small thing perhaps but a big deal to me-I didnt like the wheels, preferring the wheels of a different model. He came back moments later with exactly what I wanted to hear, not only did they have the wheels there but they gave me an amazing price on swapping them out.Darrin and I went over the details of the deal and he too listened to what I needed and he made everything I asked for happen. Finally I met with Kim in finance to go over the paperwork. We chatted like we were old friends, such a lovely woman.Once all was said and done, I gave up the keys to my rental car (which they offered to return for me) while Peter went over all the small details of the car that I was unfamiliar with to be sure I was comfortable before I drove away. I have to say, I have never had a more enjoyable time buying a car, or anything for that matter, as I did at BMW of Encinitas. I felt so welcome and left there feeling like I not only got a good deal and (better than) the exact car I wanted, but like I have friends to pop in on when I am in the area.

After several email exchanges back and forth, Ash found me a different car that I really loved. He listened, he worked hard to find me the exact car I was looking for, and he delivered! We continued to exchange emails over the next two days until I could make it to the dealership. He answered any and all questions I had about the car. The day I went into the dealership went quite smoothly. Ash did everything he could with the numbers and while it wasn't the exact monthly payment I wanted, I know that I got a great deal!! I have a 2008 X6 that was leased and I had decided to purchase it. It had been serviced by BMW Encinitas for almost 3 year.To summarize the poor experience this is what happened1. I already had my own financing arranged. The salesperson told me I HAD to fill in a credit application no matter what. She kept pressurizing me and only stopped after I asked the sales manager if this was the case and he admitted it was not.2. The sales department turned on their maintenance/warranty department after the warranty department had taken a long time explaining and recommending the best option for a pre-owned vehicle. Apparently each department competes for these sales dollars.3. The sales department told me I needed to replace the tires so I told them I would do it at Discount Tires, they then told me if I did that when I returned they would tell me they were not authorized and would insist on me taking them back off. I asked them if the tires on the car were authorized or not and they looked at them and said yes so I told them that these tires had also come from Discount Tires! I'm not stupid and neither are Discount Tires in Encinitas, last time I got them changed I explained it was leased and had to have authorized tires and they have a list of all the authorized tires you can use.I was so disgusted by their high pressure attempts to sell that I walked out and went to Vista BMW where the experience was far better. They also pointed out that some of the things BMW Encinitas had told me regarding prepaid maintenance and certified preowned was completely inaccurate.BOTH Discount Tires and BMW Vista told me they had constant complaints from customers about BMW Encinitas all similar to mine.Although Encinitas is a bit closer to me I would never recommend them to anyone, their sales people are what give car sales people in general a bad name.BMW Vista has continued to be a FAR better experience, including a free car wash every week for anyone who purchases a car from them! Nice perk on top of waay better service.

My experience in buying a new BMW 528i at Encinitas BMW, was by far the most pleasant and enjoyable experience I have had in purchasing a car. Our experience began when we appeared on the lot. The Sales Manager, Ray, was walking by and asked if we needed help or if we preferred to browse alone. We requested to talk to a salesman and he went inside and brought Jordan Fisher out to meet us. We explained that we just wanted a test drive, since we were trying to decide among the BMW, the Mercedes 350 and the Audi A6. Jordan said fine, and asked us what we wanted to drive, then left to go get a suitable car. During the entire drive he showed us the various features of the BMW and never once tried to convince us that his car was more suitable than the others we were considering. At the end of the drive, he asked us if there was anything else we needed and that he hoped we would return to buy a BMW. Jordan was helpful and pleasant and totally lacked the usual bravado, bluster and pressure I expect from car sales people. He called me once to give me an answer to a previous question, again with no pressure or trying to tell me what I needed in a car. We ultimately decided on the BMW and called Jordan to set up another test drive and to purchase a 528i. Again no pressure. We simply provided him a list of the options we wanted (most of them)and that we wanted the USAA pricing. When he said he needed to run the numbers with the Sales Manager, my reaction was, "Oh no, here it comes!" Shortly, he returned with the Sales Manager and they gave me a printout quoting a price of $1000 over true invoice. I verified that the prices were the same as the true invoice prices I had acquired from an independent source and accepted the terms. They then informed me that they would have to order the vehicle since they did not have a vehicle with all the options I wanted. I paid a $2000 deposit to reserve the car and the Sales Manager gave me one of their previously reserved slots at the factory, which was going to production in two to three days. Jordan gave me the production number as well as the options list and said he would keep me informed on my car's progress as well as showing me the BMW website where I could follow its progress. That was it!My car was delivered in 5-6 weeks and was in immaculate condition when delivered. We spent a few minutes with the finance manager purchasing the car and getting a very soft sell on the various warranty extensions and maintenance options available. We took the tire failure option. Then, Jordan spent over an hour going through all of our car's features and told us to call him anytime we needed. He wished us well and reiterated that we could come by or call him anytime we had questions. Since then, he has called us to ask how things were going and if we had any additional questions.The people at Encinitas BMW really went all out to make my experience pleasant and comfortable. They were friendly, knowledgeable, professional and anxious to serve my expressed needs. They really listened to me! Most importantly, there was no high pressure selling or arogant disertations on what I needed in a car. They let the car sell itself. I would recommend Encinitas BMW to anyone wishing to buy a new or used BMW. If they treat you as they did me, you will have a very pleasant and gratifying experience!

About nine months ago I got on a waiting list for a 1M. I knew the wait would be long because of the limited availability of these highly sought after cars. Up to the day the car was delivered to me, BMW of Encinitas, and especially Mike Wille did an outstanding job supporting my many inquiries, questions, and requests on order status and on the car itself. The wait was long, and I'm sure I became a pest from time to time. Regardless, I really believe I couldn't have been treated any better or more professionally by Mike and the rest of the staff. I should also add that BMW of Encinitas did not engage in price gouging, like many other dealerships did for this limited production car. Because of some computer issues, I did have to go back a couple of times to get my satelite and my BMW Assist working and to re-do some paperwork (which was to my benefit). I have bought quite a few cars and I can honestly say this is the first time I have walked out feeling completely satisfied getting a good deal and an enjoyable experience. Jordan Fisher my sales associate was great and very easy to work with. Jordan was not the typical "pushy salesman". The negotiations were very easy and Encitias BMW has the best prices around.......believe me I shopped around. I almost bought a car at BMW Riverside however left becasue I felt I was getting screwed around. The car was over priced and they were not willing to come down at all. I called BMW Encinitas and spoke to Jordan. I asked if they could get the car down to a certain number which they did. I drove down to their lot and was on my way home in under an hour and a half which is unheard of when buying a car. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff at BMW Encinitas. Jordan Fisher the sales associate was great and followed up after the purchase to make sure I was satisfied as well as offering assistance in anyway possible should I need anything. Jeffrey Dodds was the Finance Manager and Ext. Warranty Specialist (the guy you sign all the papers with when buying a car). Jeffry was also great. He explained the various warranty items offered both for free and at a cost in detail but was also not the typical "pushy salesman". When this was all done and I went out front to take my new BMW 528i home another lady was out front who also worked there and thanked me for coming down and my business. I believe she was the manager of the lot. I don't recall her name but she was also very nice and went out of her way to make sure all my needs were attended to. Like I said...I have bought quite a few cars before and never had a GREAT experience until now. I have never bought a car from the same dealer because I did not leave feeling very good. I can definatley say I had a great experience at BMW Encinitas. In the future I will definatley be returning. BMW is a great car and BMW Encinitas is a great dealership. I would recommend you give them a shot.....you will get great service and at a price that beats everyone else.

Both parties were very informative and answered all my questions regarding the possible purchase of a new X5. I have previously leased 2 X3's and was unsure of going to a bigger car. I liked being able to go on line to review all the options and then come to see Mike to have all the options more fully explained so I felt very comfortable in my final decision. Have purchased three vehicles from BMW of Encinitas in the past three years. Took vehicle in for service due to unusual noise and a rattle in the rear door. They never called to say vehicle would be held over night. I had to call around 4:30 to find car would not be ready until the next day due to special order parts. Rattle in ddor resolved, but vehicle returned with code unresolved in computer and vehicle still making same noise. No explanation as to why noise remains. Repair ticket states "BMW is working on it." Wonderful. Filled out survey and receive call and e-mail from Mary Jo Gelardo, Customer Service Manager who wants to discuss why I am unhappy with service. We discuss on phone on May 20 and she promises to set appointment with service manager week of May 23 to resolve issue. Never heard any more from her, so sent e-mail on May 27 advising we would not use the dealership again. Forwarded a copy of that e-mail to Brian Woods, the General manager and he has not replied either. Finally, there is a recall on one vehicle we purchased from them on 12/28/10. The recall was initiated on Oct 18, 2010 by BMW. I kind of think the dealer would have done the recall work before delivering the car? We just found out about the recall by taking it to another dealer, since we never received a recall notice. Or the owners card or anything else we should have received following the purchase. Just their way of doing business I suppose. SO glad the latest 535i came from somewhere else and the next 7 series will too!

Peter was very helpful. He took a lot of time to help us and we weren't exactly the biggest sake he was ever going to have. We were there to look at a used Toyota Sienna, not a BMW. Peter, however, treated us like we were there to buy a much nicer vehicle. My wife & I have two small children who both need to be in car-seats, so he literally had to allow both of us to take turns test-driving the vehicle. On top of that, we could not decide right away (because of our kids' needs), so we had to go home & come back later in order to purchase the Sienna. My research enabled me to decide upon a particular BMW model before even contacting the dealership. We also wanted it built to our specifications. I was also able to determine the price I was willing to pay. The dealership agreed to the price and we worked with Peter to order the vehicle. After agreeing upon the price, I asked the dealership to give us an offer on our current car. The price was not only fair, but it exceeded the offers received from others. So, the price for the new car was less than others were willing to sell it to us for, and the offer for our car was more than others were willing to pay. The bottom line was a very attractive transaction from our perspective.During the waiting period while our car was being built, Peter was in constant contact with us as to the process and when our car might be ready. He truly exceeded our expectations in keeping us informed. Although our car cost far less than the more expensive BMW's available, we were treated as though we were their most important customer. During the delivery process, Peter spent about 3 hours with us making sure that we knew exactly how everything worked.During the process, I also worked with Mac and Jose in the parts department. They were also friendly and accommodating, thereby further enhancing our overall experience.

I was interested in ordering a vehicle from the factory. Peter G. was friendly, but just didn't have the interest in making my request anything but an extremely low priority. In general, I'm not that put out, but I do wish that Peter would have been more upfront about the focus of the dealership towards selling cars on the lot vice custom orders. He wrote an email stating: "sorry I haven't gotten back to you, the weekends here are MAX busy"... who the heck wants to hear their sales rep say that?!Look elsewhere if you want to custom order a vehicle. I get the impression they're OK if you want to help them move their lot stock.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!! **STAY AWAY**I have been in a family of owning BMW's, Mercedes Benz's, and Range Rovers my WHOLE life. For those of you who know, it truly is a different experience owning one of these cars...the customer service is outstanding as well, UNTIL I CAME TO BMW of ENCINITAS. This place has THE WORST customer service, I had a problem with a salesman (bc he was new & clueless) and he HUNG UP on me!!! If you knew me, I am a super easy going individual. I asked to speak with the MANAGER of the sales department and Justin Beck was put on the phone as the "manager." I asked if, "are you the sales manager?" and he said "yes, I am" SO...I told him my problems etc. He let me know OVER & OVER how they were losing money on my deal...made me feel like utter sh*t until I realized I just got a sick deal they can't back out of (they totally gave me WAY too much money for my trade in :D...Mike Hayden was willing to do anything to make his first sale apparently) Anyway, after hearing Justin Beck, "the manager" tell me how he needs more time to think about this and how they are losing money on this deal, I was like SORRY..not my problem, very unprofessional to let a customer know how you guys are losing money on the deal. Everything was on paper so it was impossible to back out of :o). Justin told me he would make an appt. for me to get my car in to get scratches fixed on it. NEVER HAPPENED. I called him 3 times, wrote an email and then had to talk to the DIRECTOR of the service department because Justin Beck was clearly ignoring my calls!!! My fiance had to call him and tell him to be more professional and how horrible the customer service is here. THEN...I went to drop my car off for servicing, after they had my license for over 45 minutes (with my DOB on it...), it came down to the time to sign papers for a loaner car...... then they realized I am only 24!!!!! WTF?!?!?! So, i can OWN a BMW but I cant LOAN one at BMW of ENCINITAS?!?!?!? This place IS A JOKE!!!!! I called other BMW places and ENCINITAS is the only one with that "insurance policy"...yeah, because they SUCK.I told them how horrible their customer service is compared to Range Rover, Mercedes Benz and BMW back in NY. These people need some SERIOUS HELP!!When people found out I was potentially going there to lease a new car, I was told the place was a joke and I also talked to a couple who literally returned their X5 and re-bought it at another BMW dealership! Please do yourself a favor, PLEASE....if you're used to 5 star customer service since you own a nice name brand car, STAY AWAY FROM BMW OF ENCINITAS bc you feel like crap walking in and walking out.I am in the process of switching from them :o)

Having the option to chose among many dealers in San Diego, I chose Encinitas for their friendly customer service, straight talk and depth of knowledge - all exhibited by Peter Gautille. No attitude, no pressure, no gimmicks. Just patiently explaining the features (extensive) between the 5-series and 3-series BMW's. Peter was very conscientious in insuring I was registered correctly in the BMW Assist program, had my books, keys and iPod and even set up my bluetooth phone showing me each and every button in my new BMW! Peter was friendly and accommodating, and was very knowledgeable about the car he was selling (328i).That was an almost new car, and the price ended up being OK after some negotiation of the price and the trade-in value. Overall the process was long, but there was no pressure or gimmicks, which I appreciated.I also liked the way he explained everything about the car after the purchase: he got in the car with me and went over the not-so-obvious features. he didn't seem to pressure me out.

While Steve was showing me the features of the car I was about to purchase, Dennis ran the numbers and brought me a very easy-to-understand chart of leasing and payment options. There was no bartering, no hidden fees or add-ons, and I was in and out of finance in minutes - keys in hand and ready to go. The car had every option I could have wanted and is a joy to drive. What a great dealership!! I bought a new X5 and they couldn't have been nicer. From Sales, to Service to Parts for Floor Mats...everyone was super helpful. They took care of my trade in, gave me a better deal than I had anticipated and I was really pleased how friendly everyone was through the entire process. I would certainly recommend them in the future.

I was in contact with a salesman about a trade in and used car purchase. My son brought the car in for appraisal. The salesman called me and he was upset that I brought the car in without calling him first because now he would have to share the commission with someone else. We never discussed calling him first. Anyone, then he LOST the appraisal and wanted me to bring the car back in. I'm sure he lost the appraisal so now he could get the entire commission. Needless to say, I did not bring it back in and found a new dealership.

Very poor customer service. After 7 BMWs in 20 years, Encinitas BMW has convinced me to buy Porsches and Mercedes. Be careful!I had a warranty claim and was denied coverage by the general manager. They wouldn't let me talk with the service rep that supposedly inspected my car (they are not customer facing) Very frustrating experience.

CPO BMW - Certified Pre-owned crash damage vehicle is what i was sold. There are no standards applied to inspection, selection or refurbishment. BMW NA told me its my problem, not theirs and to go pound sand, get an attorney, whatever I wanted to do; they said BMW dealers, only buy the CPO extended warranty and marketing supplies from BMW; they have no control over cars sold. Beware of lies, cover up, and ineptness which is not limited to any one specific department. When questioned directly, they lied straight to my face. A general consumer may not be able to spot the damage but anyone in the auto industry could spot this. The damage was obvious and documented by another BMW dealer.

I contacted this dealership in an effort to buy or lease a new car. I was put in touch with salesperson Tom Swapp. He was terse and gave me contradictory information about their lease program. His information was not consistent with another local dealership I had contacted. When I mentioned this to Swapp, he said that the other dealership employee didn't know what he was talking about and was lying to me. I was shocked at this brazen attack on another local dealership employee. Swapp refused to assist me further and refused my request for another salesperson. I wrote a letter to the dealership owner and contacted BMW customer care. The customer care employee I dealt with said that Harloff was willing to do business with me if I came in person to their dealership. However, I received a letter from Mike Wilson saying that he would not do business with me (even though he had never met or had a conversation with me before). I have since found a local BMW dealership that has made an effort to work with me in an honest manner and without attacking and accusing other dealerships of improper conduct. I obviously have no intention of ever doing business at Harloff BMW, but I feel that the manner in which they treated me was atrocious for any business - but especially so for a Better Business Bureau member. In response to a complaint I filed on complaints.com, Mr Swapp submitted intentional mistatements of facts, claiming that I had visited the dealership and had been asked to leave by the sales manager. I have never set foot on the grounds of the dealership or had a conversation with the sales manager there. I was shocked that he would be intentionally untruthful just to try to discredit an honest customer's relating of an experience at his dealership. Unfortunately, the stereotype of a car salesman does in fact still exist with some.

1/09/07 - This is the 4th time I've brought in my 2002 325CI for the same problem. They have been nickle and diming me each time I bring it in although they say its covered under warranty. Warranty has a deductible of $50, I can understand that but for each time I bring it in with the same problem BMW Harloff claim they have fixed?! The 3rd time I brought it in they had to bring in a BMW consultant because their mechanics were unable to figure out the problem...that time they had my car for 3 weeks. Previous time it was 2 weeks. The "droning noise" (which is the problem) started when I brought it in the 1st time for new brake pads. They changed the rotors (which didn't need replacing) and ever since BMW did the brake/rotor change, the car makes this awful noise when I turn (left or right) or when I slow down and go at a very low speed. They've had my car for 2 days now, have not heard from them, have left messages to check the status and Brian has not returned my phone call and I have yet to hear from Mike (Director of Sales & Svc) whom I've also left a msg for. A courtesy call would be nice esp since I haven't heard from them since I dropped the car off a couple of days ago.

"Highway robbery" is one phrase that describes my experience with Harloff. Checked in my car with the "Service Engine" light on and excessive vibration. 4 days later paid $1,300 and sat in the car and both problems still existed. They fixed it with replacing a $70 part in 30 minutes, but charged me $1300. Terrible service and extremely crock service representatives.

I purchased my 2005 M3 with the Performance Center Delivery in SC through Tom Swapp. He was very courteous, straight forward, and he offered the best price in Socal. I called everywhere from LA, OC, and SD and Harloff was the best. This was on a custom order too. Best part was that I live in San Diego which makes it very convenient. I will definitely use him again when I decide to purchase my next BMW.

A small dealership near Rancho Santa Fe that caters to upper end BMWs. 7 series, M cars, 545i, X5, etc. I have purchased 5 cars from them and they have always provided great service.
