Lucky I'm even giving it one star. Actually I'm only going to give it 0.5 out of 5. I was going in to look at a vehicle. I liked it...but I needed to place a hold on the vehicle. So I gave them my card information and they were going to place a hold of $500 on the vehicle...they never took it off the market and kept threatening me to sell it when I already had a hold on it. Very unprofessional salesman too he kept arguing with me about details on the vehicle and what we had discussed, it was just very unprofessional and a waste of my time. Also, sales guy was pushy I just told him to sell it....that week I was waiting for my truck to sell but deal fell thru, that's why I had this on hold so I had something. They weren't prepared either, when I went in to do paperwork after I had set up an appointment they had it locked it a room somewhere. Communication was non existent.. plus they never gave me a precise figure on my payment they just said they got under the amount I wanted...If your time is valuable to you DO NOT waste it here. I've been to a lot of dealerships in past Bur this was probably one of my worst experiences. To top it off i ended up buying other vehicle with same equipment..same vehicle..one year older and like 22,000 miles less and the vehicle was 500$ cheaper at this particular dealership...explain why ???? I'll never do business here and I wouldn't recommend anyone to this place to anyone I know. Thanks have a great day

Dropped my vehicle off on a scheduled day at 7:00 a.m. for a recall repair. The service manager said it would be completed by the end of the day. Arrangements were made for the shuttle to bring me back to the dealership at 4:00 p.m. When I returned, the work hadn't been started. The service manager said I could wait 30 minutes for them to do the work or they could pick up my car the next day. I opted to wait and have them complete the recall. Fifteen minutes later he came back and said they couldn't complete the recall in 30 minutes. Arrangements were made for my car to be picked up the next day. The recall work was completed that day. I was without a car for 2 full days and waited at the dealership for 45 minutes while the manager figured out a solution. I was given an apology, but no compensation for my time or loss of a vehicle for 2 days. This is not my first poor experience with the Bob Brown service department. The facilities are nice and the shuttle service is great, but it has consistently taken more than one appointment to complete work.

I am not disappointed in the actual oil changing service, but I disappointed in several things: 1) Car washes used to be included with oil change, but are no longer included; 2) Your cheapest oil change was $60.00, and did not include car wash or tire rotation; 3) Tire rotation was $15 + $60 oil change, so $75 for a basic service, that is high in comparison to others. 4) I had a fog light out, they offered to replace it for $12.00 plus the cost of the bulb, then they realized they couldn't replace the bulb, so i would have to make an appointment with the service department. 5) Thankfully i had a $20.00 off coupon, otherwise the cost of the service i received was definitely not worth it.

Okay, I think it is wrong that you charge the sticker price. You like all car dealers are taking advantage of the pandemic. I was told long ago that a good deal is when both sides feel they were treated fairly and not taken advantage of. This is only the second time in my life I have paid sticker price. I guess I should be happy that you were not charging more than the sticker price. I know there is a car shortage and it was my choice to pay the sticker price, so I am not complaining I knew what I was getting and that buying at this time I would pay more than it is worth. I would not have said anything but your survey wanted a comment like you are good guys you did me a great deal and service. Like you really value my business. We both know that is a crock. You are no worse than the other dealers and really no better!! You even shorted me on my trade-in. So I guess change this survey, so you do not have to hear at least my real feeling on my recent car puschase. I do like the car. So I changed your ratings from a 10 to a 5 and 5 star to a 3 star. Just as good as all the other dealers. I would be amazed if this ever is published.

I brought my car in for basic maintenance - oil change and general inspection. I didn't need to set up an appointment. I arrived at 7:00 am and work started immediately. All of the staff there I worked with were courteous and conscientious; they explained what they were doing and talked to me first before doing any extra work (changing an air filter in my case) and they were extremely efficient. I go to this dealer even though it is by no means the closest to where I live because I have always had positive experiences there.

When I was * years old I went with my Aunt to Bob browns Chevrolet.My Aunt bought a new Chevy Malibu off the show room floor and I remember how she was treated and taken care of. I always said that someday I woulddo the same thing.Well, three years ago, that happened. The dealership had gotten bigger, moved out west, but when we went to buy a new Chevy Spark off the show room floor,I am very happy to say that I was and still am treated just like she was; with respect, which continues every time I need to go to the service center and they still give me that same extended family treatment making sure they get it right the first time and always being welcomed by name from two specific people.My Aunt is gone now, and so is her Malibu, but it wasn't until she passed 5 years ago that her Maliblue as she called it left. She drove that car off the lot the day she bought it and still had it until 5 years ago. Which proves that you CAN go home again.

It was a wonderful experience! I went in because my vehicle was sounding funny. They asked if I would like to stay there during the diagnosis, if not, they offered me a free shuttle service home. I went home thinking it could take all day. They were able to diagnose the problem within an hour and called me to let me know what the issue was, how much it would cost to fix, and when it should be done! Less than 2 hours later I had my vehicle back and it was running perfectly! I'm very impressed with Bob Brown and their services.

My wife and I were searching for a used and or certified Buick LaCrosse. We live near Omaha, NE and we could not find many cars in the local area that were the color or had the equipment that we wanted. We expanded our search to the surrounding areas and found some at a few different dealers in Iowa. After messaging a few dealers we weren't getting any responses, until we left a message at Bob Brown. Minutes after leaving the message, I had an email from Jason. Over a few emails he answered my questions and we set up an appointment for the following Saturday. The level of customer service was excellent from the first message and when we arrived it was evident that I was dealing with the right company. The car was waiting for us with a welcome sign when we arrived. Jason showed us the car, answered some more questions and was patient as we took our time. Everyone was extremely helpful, but at the same time not pushy or overbearing. This was actually an enjoyable car buying experience and when I am looking for our next car, I will make the drive to Urbandale again. I highly recommend Bob Brown.

Bought a preowned car of a different make from them. Salesperson was extremely courteous and great to work with. Answered questions via email or calls quickly. Negotiated an acceptable purchase and trade in price and up to this point it was great working with them. However the very afternoon I drove the 1 year old car home, I could not restart it- dead battery. I realize buying preowned would not come with any coverage or service from Bob Brown, but since the battery was dead on Day 0 of owning the car, I thought I should call to see if they could help me jumpstart or be willing to consider replacing the battery. However my calls and email to the salesman, and a call to the manager, went unanswered. I would have been totally ok with a response that they were not able to grant my request- I would have been ok forking out $100 for a new battery- but the total lack of response was disappointing . The after sales service or lack of it left a very bad taste in the mouth, giving the impression that they were keen only to sell you cars, but didn't value the customer anymore after they took your cheque. Unfortunate end to an otherwise good experience. Would not be referring anyone there. Side note: we have gotten 5 letters from companies selling "extended warranties " for our SUV in the last month. This suggests Bob Brown shares/sells customer information with/to these companies. Because we did not finance the SUV and wrote a cheque there would have been no middleman (bank) who could have shared that information. Perhaps this is common practice amongst dealers but we certainly have never encountered this in our previous car purchases.

I found a great deal on an Impala on their web site but the car had just been procured out of state, and it still needed to go through inspection. I was looking to trade in a car that was starting to have some serious issues. During this process, my father suddenly became severely ill and was in the hospital in a coma a few hundred miles away. They loaned me a brand new Impala that I used for over two weeks. Since I had a new car, I was able to reliably be at the hospital and handle driving family as needed. My father passed during this time, and not once did Matt G. pressure me or indicate I had to return the vehicle. When I returned, I was able to complete the sale process and ended up with the car I wanted with a great deal. found out that the update I came in to have done expired with the original warranty even though this is a certified used vehicle. talked with the sales manager while picking up some paperwork and he went and talked with the service advisor and got this taken care of at no additional cost. Service was great but if I am going to drive past other oil change places and Chevy dealers it should be worth it. Also the quick lube should be just that, not tire rotation and wiper blade.

The Check Engine light came on as we were headed out for the evening. The vehicle stalled a couple times so we decide to try to get it in to Bob Brown Service Center. We got there about 5:30 PM and there were no other vehicles in the bay so I drove right in. I was planning to have to leave it but wasn't sure if we would be able to get a rental that late. In about 15 minutes Todd Ferguson had us checked in and had arranged for a great loaner vehicle. It was not cost, just had to top off the fuel. This kind of service is why I will ALWAYS go to Bob Brown Chevrolet first when I need a new vehicle. The sales staff has always treated me great and the service department is second to none. Never pushy and always friendly.

DONT offer a oil change promotion online and have it state "More then 6 quarts of oil" My Acadia takes 5.5 quarts but they say they use "6". I was not able to use my coupon. More then 6 it states online. 6 is not more then 6. Either way not the service peoples fault. I will keep going to the dealorship because the service people are awesome but the "promotions / online coupons" are bad. Anyways keep up the great service it is very much appriciated.

Brought my car in without an appointment in the afternoon it was making a howling noise, I am a mobile signing agent and I need my car for my work. They said they were backed up, but would try to work it in. I wasn't planning on them getting to it so I was surprised when they called and said I had a bad wheel bearing. I told them to go ahead and repair it and I picked up a few hours later. Great job by the service dept.

I was emailed promptly, but no one ever called me personally. We worked out a deal on a vehicle and got down to the buying part. I have a pre approved B of A Auto Loan check. They are a B of A approved lender, which means that all I needed to give them was the approval number. They demanded that I give them a credit application, which B of A told me that I did not need to do. The business manager had no clue how to handle a service that they were approved to accept. By the time he got back with me, I had already decided that this was not the place to buy a vehicle from. I did not buy the Ford Explorer. I would not consider a purchase from them in the future. I believe every good sale begins with a phone call. They are lacking in the customer service department.

My intentions the day I came to Bob Brown in Urbandale were only to look at a new car. I was not 100% on buying. I had the privilege to work with Jamie Scott, as I was unable to work with the previous dealer Robert McGhee as he has moved to a different position within the company. Jamie took the time to get to know me first, didnt try selling the vehicle within the first 5 minutes of me being there. I explained to Jamie my current financial situation and he was able to share personal information about himself that related to my situation that was able to make me feel as he understood me as a person, not just as a customer. This service was beyond fantastic and has sold a customer for LIFE. Between working with Robert when purchasing my first car in 2013, to Jamie helping me get into a 2015 Silverado, I cant be thankful enough to the staff at Bob Brown for such an amazing job they are doing. I will also have to say the Kyle, who walked me through all the new features was awesome, the temperature outside was close to 100 degrees and it was hot, but that did not stop him from doing what he needed to do and making sure to have a smile about it the whole time. This has been one of the best buying experiences I have had at a dealership, and as I said it has sold me to be a customer for LIFE. I look forward to purchasing my next vehicle with Jamie and at Bob Brown.

I live 350 miles from your dealership, and I had been looking for one of the old-style, extended-cab Colorado pickups ever since January, when I saw how huge the 2015 Colorado trucks were. I have arthritic knees, and the new Colorado trucks are too far off the ground for me to get into them, so, I started to search for one of the older ones that had an extended cab. My search proved fruitless until I saw one of your 2012 Colorado trucks listed on Cars.com. I then e-mailed your Internet salesman, Michael McNeley, and asked him about it. After a few e-mail exchanges, and a couple of phone conversations, your Colorado seemed to be a pretty close fit to what I was looking for. Finally, after Michael informed me that it had a GM-certified, pre-owned vehicle warranty, I decided that it was worth making a 13-hour roundtrip to examine it close up.The truck was close enough to what I wanted, so, even though its rear window was leaking when I saw it (its 1-year bumper-to-bumper warranty will pay for fixing it) I bought it.In all, I was very pleased with the treatment that I received at your dealership, and I wish you and your staff all the best.

I would recommend the quick lube, but not the dealership for service. I do not like your check-in process when you drop off your vehicle. Keeping your service managers in offices makes them more important than the customer. Standing and waiting for a period of time with physical impairment made me change to a different dealership.

My fiance and I were in the market for a new vehicle and managed to find a new Cruze at the Bob Brown dealership in Urbandale. I was a little skeptical about driving down from Ames to purchase the vehicle, but it was more than worth it. At first, we felt rushed because we wanted to take advantage of the May rebates that Chevy was offering which brought the car down into our price range. We worked with Luke Bowers and he made us feel much better about everything. The entire sales process was perfect! They were patient with us getting everything in order with our insurance so that we were able to sign the paperwork. Matt Johnson even stepped out of his own office in order to give us a couple of minutes to discuss what we wanted to do with our extra warranty extension options as well. The entire sales team worked as one cohesive unit, including our delivery specialist, Andrew. He must make that same speech every single day and he still made us feel like he had our best interests at heart and made us feel very comfortable about everything!All in all, we were extremely impressed with everything that your team has done to help us through our first major purchase as a couple. Tire on new car hit object on highway and needed replacement. We gave them the information necessary to get a replacement and they told us to come in soon and they would be ready to replace the flat tire.We came in and they had the tire already. I like that they remind you to watch your step when going to the lounge area. Every one is so clean and professional. The bay areas are also so clean! Te waiting area is great. Coffee, tea, other beverages are available. A TV is on in case you want to watch. Magazines, brochures o the current vehicles are available to look and see. We were not sure of which building to go to when we arrived, Service Department or Quick Lube, so we went to the Quick Lube as it was the closets to the entrance. We pulled up to the doors and were quickly greeted by an attendant who asked us about our service needs and explained that they could take care of this service here at the Quick Lube. We went to the waiting area and our vehicle was serviced and ready to go in under 25 minutes. We were pleasantly satisfied with the whole process.

Dar Rohlfsen was my dealer through the whole process from the test drive, back at the lot explaining all the bells and whistles, answering my questions to getting a good trade for my car, finding "my vehicle", and the final transaction. I would recommend him as a dealer to anyone. I had to wait a couple of days due to money being transferred and for my car to come in but by time my money had been deposited my car was in the lot so everything was working out good. When I saw my car it was everything I had ever wanted plus some. Matt Johnson was excellent at explaining the different warranties and since I was on a tight budget, he worked with me on putting one on the end price of the car and buying the other one in installments, Courtney Deardorft went over everything inside and out of the vehicle, helped me set up On-Star's account and gave me a 101 course on operating the menu options.And then it was mine! I'm so glad I decided on the Chevy Equinox and going to Bob Brown. I am one happy camper and it even fits in my garage! :-)

I don't have a problem with the service however I am not happy with the price increase and then loss of car wash as I have been getting for my prior services. The rate went up about $5.00 then the car wash was taken away from the deal.Then I got a thank you letter, but then I got a letter via email that we have not see you and here are some discount coupons for your next visit, which would have been for the basic prior deal. Great timing, you have not seen me and know you have a better deal for me so here is the coupons after you already paid for your next visit.This is just a poor way of saying thanks to your customers. I would question if I should be sending my 2300 local families to Bob Brown whom have auto claims from my insurance agency when they have a claim or service needed.

The oil change itself was quick although I waited outside for about 30 minutes just to get in. I just happened to pick a busy time/ day. I wasn't happy that you no longer do the free car wash. That is part of the reason that I go to the car dealership for an oil change. If I spend $50 on an oil change the least the dealership can do is give me a free oil change. Will have to rethink if it is worth driving to your dealership, paying extra money for an oil change AND not even get my vehicle washed. Can say that I was a loyal customer and that might change.

The oil change process was fine...i have no complaints. But as far as the service department goes id have to pass. I bought a camaro from you guys a few months ago and have been getting a warning light on my rearview for onstar...i called a week ago and left a msg with a service advisor and never recieved a call back. Last night i called again to set up an appointment and the guy said he didnt know what i was talking about as if im the first person to have a warning light on the rearview mirror after about 15 min he said call back when im ready to bring it in...as if that wasnt the reason for the call...so i wont be bringing the car back for service....ill try another chevy dealer. I decided i didnt want the car like 2 weeks after i purchased it and wanted to trade it for something i could drive in the winter but that process was a hassle...seems like all that matters is getting the cars off the lot. Its cool though. I wouldnt recommend bob brown to any friends or family in the future though.

Because of a bad service experience at Bob Brown on one occassion last year, I always ask for Bob Lundy when I call the service dept. Bob has never let me down and is always friendly, professional and informative. At my most recent service visit, not only was Bob able to fit my car in the SAME DAY that I called (it was not recommended that I continue driving the vehicle based on the issues that I was having) but he went above and beyond to help me review the warranty information that I did not understand and moving forward what would/would not be covered on my certified vehicle. While that level customer service is cause for an "Excellent" rating on your survey, I felt that his service exceeded excellence that day. I have to say that Bob went above and beyond for me that day, proving yet again to myslef- why I will never buy from anyone other than Bob Brown. I was having a tough week (everything that could go wrong WAS) and I asked about a loaner car. My nephew was in NICU and I was back and forth between home, work and hospital sometimes several times each day. Bob helped me secure a loaner car even when his normal hours that day had ended. I was able to avoid catching rides, inconveniencing my family when they were already stressed, etc. Furthermore, Bob called early the NEXT afternoon to tell me that my car was finished. As a VERY satisfied Certified Chevy Traverse owner, I would like to thank you for a job well done!

Incredible. Very helpful! We came in looking for a vehicle ((used-low miles) or new). After looking at used and discussing with our salesman Brock we started to compare new to used. Brock new our situation with our car breaking down, traveling 90 miles to look at a car and the money we could spend. He was consistent with giving us many options rather then pushing just one idea. This allowed us to breath a little bit and get a handle on what a new car option would be compared to a used car. I'm very thankful that Brock came out and was the first person that we talked to. We are confident that we made a good decision based on all the info that we received. We now move into the service side of our purchase and hope that we will have the same result/service that we had on the sales side!

The visit was great and everything was ready to go as planned. All things worked out as expected.On a bit of a different note concerning the interpretation of this survey or any survey from GM--I am concerned that any rating less than a 10 or an 'Excellent' is considered a 'failure' on the part of a dealer. I do not feel that is fair to the dealer and/or the customer. If that is indeed the standard of how the dealership is rated then don't allow a rating system of 5 steps from 'Poor to Excellent' or '1-10', just allow a pass or fail rating. My point is that I may be completely satisfied with everything at a dealer and rate them a 9, just because I don't give 10's or I was having a bad day. Besides there is almost always room for improvement. I certainly do not understand how a rating of 9 would be considered a failure of the dealership in the eyes of GM. I agree that we should all strive to be a 10 but to expect that all the time is not practical. It is like saying that if I come in second in a competition I am the first loser or that getting an 'A-' in school makes me a failure because I didn't get an 'A.'

One area for improvement in my preference is the process of pulling the cars into the bays. I was parked and waiting outside of bay #4 but had to pull into bay #2. There were other cars parked in front of all the others bays. Made it seem unorganized and confusing to some of the other customers. The car that was in front of bay #2 tried to pull in once the door opened but the technician had to wave him off so I could pull in. All the guys were very friendly considering the number of cars that were waiting for service.

I am very disappointed in this GM product. When a transmission goes bad after 64,000 miles when GM knew it was a bad product in the first place. I am going to think twice before purchasing another GM product in the future. I have bought GM for the past 10 years switching from Ford. Please make a better transmission for the Traverse and back it up.

I wasn't planning on doing a tire rotation but the technician made me aware of a deal going on where I was able to rotate my tires for a discounted price. They measured my tires and ensured I was aware that in the near future I will need to replace my tires that are lower tread.

My experience with this service on this date was good. The service was kind and professional. That being said, I'm still concerned about the cause for the work (seal of differential replaced) that was performed on my vehicle at Bob Brown. On 6/5 I had the front differential service on my 2005 GMC Envoy at Bob Brown. I then had an oil change at Bob Brown in late August during which I was informed about an "oil leak". I didn't have any trouble or leak before the front differential service was done but a couple weeks after the differential service, I had the leak. The service tech said he didn't think they were related but I'm not sure.

Over all I was pleased with the experience they delt with my wife due to it being her car. The repair was made ahead of schedule and the vehicle was returned quickly, the only thing that upset me was when we returned the vehicle back due to another problem that had developed that was not there when we dropped it off originally the service representative wanted to debate about whether whose responsible for the cause. In the end the problem was fixed and I was not charged, but the way it was handled could have been done differently.

Our experience was with the Ankeny location. We made several calls regarding a car and set up an appointment to test drive it. We drove 40 miles to the dealership and the salesperson wasn't there, and they didn't know when he'd be back - what did we want? When we told them, they laughed and said, "Oh, sorry, we sold that car an hour ago." They thought it was funny. No offer to show us another vehicle or reimburse us for gas. That was 2 yr. ago.We decided to give them another chance because they had a car we were interested in. We met with a salesman, drove the car and negotiated unsuccessfully. The next day he called with a counteroffer that was agreeable if certain things were fixed, he said he'd try to get it done right away and we made a deposit. Several days later we were told the chrome was fixed, a wheel was being fixed, and a new seat cover was on the way, but he couldn't get a tracking number. This went on for over a week, being told it was getting fixed/seat cover on the way.After 10 days we received a call from someone else in sales wanting to know why we hadn't picked up the car. We explained what the salesman told us, and the new guy said "that's not true, the price didn't include fixing that stuff, nothing has been fixed or ordered, it's being sold as is". We were stunned, there was no apology, no negotiating, just a "too bad so sad" attitude on their part. We declined the purchase and requested our down payment be refunded. We were given the impression they could care less if we bought it or not.We will never consider Bob Brown again, and will be very willing to share our experience with anyone who asks. We made 3 trips total to their facilities only to be treated with disrespect and deceit. Too bad so sad for them.

My trade in, a 2011 camaro CGM, was fairly valued, and the next owner will be very happy as I babied it and the vast majority of its miles are Iowa highway commute. Loved that car, which I got from Bob Brown in early 2012. I traded it to upgrade to a 2012 2SS convertible. The convertible has been rock solid. As a nurse servicing rural Iowa I need my used cars to be reliable and a little fun. I spend a lot of time in my cars. Bob Brown used cars have not disappointed.Randy was terrific. He had good knowledge of the model and was patient with my requests. At no time did I feel pressured. Even after the deal was sealed he took me on a tour of the new grounds. I could tell he was genuinely proud as he introduced me to support staff and talked about the facility.The sales manager I worked with understood that I wasn't there to be in a haggle match. Ask for a fair bottom line price and you get one. At a price not more then auction I kept my end of the no haggle agreement and purchased. My fellow camaro club members paid more at competing dealerships in the area. I didn't have my extra key or factory floormats in me.The took my word that I would send them and did not ding my trade in value. Dave is a master at his craft. The rates he finds is competitive with the best credit unions. When I told him I wasn't interested in loan add ons he did not sales pitch me hard. He knows his business and he knows his customers. He remembered my loan requirements from my last purchase (major bank, low apr, simple interest, no gap on used, etc).That cyber gray 1LT is on the lot now. Ask the sales team for a previous owner reference and I will be happy to talk on the phone with a perspective buyer. It's a great car and I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it sometimes; the roaring power of the L99 engine in my 2SS helps me cope, though.I'm currently looking at volts for the wife and will defiantly keep Bob Brown in my list of dealers to deal with. Very high on the list.

I bought a 6 year warranty battery 7/09 for $132.93. I needed to replace it 11/2012. I got 40 months out of the battery and the new battery cost me $115.39. I then went home and called Firestone, Tires Plus etc. I could have bought a battery straight out for about $120. The only reason I replaced it at Bob Brown was because I mistakenly believed the warranty would be worth something. Also I don't even know if the new battery has a warranty. No one mentioned a warranty and it is not stated on my receipt. I love my Chevy Tahoe but I will not be purchasing another Chevy product. Bob Brown labor costs are ridiculously overpriced. My Tahoe is 11 years old and several times over the past 11 years, I have had the vehicle repaired repeatedly for some of the same problems so I don't feel that I am getting better service for the price. Oil changes at Bob Brown most recently cost me with tax $41.78. In November, I had the oil changed at Meineke for $25.91. Also the tech at Meineke showed me some of the fluids that Bob Brown has been telling me needed to be changed, guess what? By appearance, those same fluids do not need to be changed yet. I think the tech should be telling me that according to the suggested schedule, yes, changes at certain mileage are suggested BUT at this time they fluids still appear to be OK. I am sick of the upselling.

After having my Malibu in for sensor and warenty work; my car never drove the same. The service department repaired my transmission; the transmission works fine. but 7 weeks later we are putting new ball joints and new front tires on the car. I have been told by another mechanic (who has also purchased a car from Bob Brown this year) that it appeared the ball joint was not put on correctly. I have tires that had plenty of life still on them except where it wore hole on the inside of my tire in less than 2 months! My keyless remote also stopped working after the service, i took it back in to have it reset and they told me I need new remotes "they were both shot" wierd since I never used one of them and they both never worked after I pciked the car up. Save your time and your cars maintence and go somewhere else!

Called about the bad brake pads within 30 days would not do anything. The rubber on the window keeps coming out. But the salesman told us oh there wasn't anything they had to do to the vehicle when it was checked over before we picked it up because it was in such good shape. I feel we were overcharged on the extended warranty after checking prices elsewhere. We got an extended warranty with longer coverage on a vehicle 2 years older which was 4 wheel drive for $700 less. After checking on the internet prices they are way overpriced in that area. You would think brakes would be an important thing to check before sending someone off in a vehicle you sale them. Will not buy from them again. Also purchased 2nd vehicle just this week and am paying half the interest rate we got with Bob Brown. Will not purchase from them again.

My wife saw a vehicle on the Bob Brown website that interested us. I stopped by the dealership and was introduced to Kendal Cook. He located the vehicle, brought it around front for me, and we visited for an hour about the vehicle. He was very thourough and knowledgeable about the vehicle, and explained everything to me. We returned two days later and drove the vehicle with him. He explained again to my wife all aspects of the vehicle in depth. He also spent much time explaining the GM Certified Vehicle Warranty, and all of the different things Bob Brown does for their customers.He never put pressure on us, and although there was much negotiation with the final sale price and our trade-in value, he was very accomodating in spending as much time as was necessary, going back and forth with the sales manager, and ensuring we got the deal we felt was fair.During our purchase, Kendal had a serious family emergency, but stayed with us until we completed the transaction. He went above and beyond what he needed to do during that time. He had already earned our business, but earned our respect as well for ataying during this difficult time, putting his customer first. Although this was our first purchase through him, it wont be our last.

There were NO high pressure tactics from Clyde or the sales manager. They gave us a FANTASTIC price for our trade in AND the car we bought. There was a problem with the clear coat peeling on one of the doors of the car we were buying and they fixed it. No charge, no hesitation and no increase in price. Clyde was the most down to earth car salesman we've ever met and very helpful. The only issue we had was with the lady doing the paperwork for the sale. She must have been having a bad day. What can I say? Great experience. Contacted Internet sales for interest in a camaro 2011 base model. Internet sales called back within a few hours. Showed up and met with Billy. No pressure, and he didn't try to upgrade me to something I couldn't afford. The finance dept took some time, but they managed to beat my rate from PenFed Credit Union, which I didn't think possible. Saving money was worth the time. Left with a 2011 base model that I love. The car on the lot was a little dirty. They gave me my keys and we came out of the dealership to a shiny car. I went to Bob Brown Chevy to look at at Chevy Traverse. I looked at the vehicle, took for a test drive, and loved it. Five minutes later, my sister-in-law called and said she thought she could get me a better deal, and another local dealer called me about another vehicle that I had thought was out of my price range. At that point, I could not make a decision. It was starting to get late, and so I explained why I was hesitating. Clyde was very patient. I know other dealers would have just said, fine, go buy some where else. However, he brought his boss Dave out, and explained to him why I was hesitating to purchase. They worked with me one on one, and explained how they came up with their price. I now feel very confident that I got a great deal and I love my new vehicle. All my questions were answered quickly and financing was easy. I couldn't have asked for better service or buying experience. I have already told many people about my postive experience at Bob Brown and was pleased to hear many of them had good stories about the dealership as well. I will be sure to visit them again the next time we are shopping for a new/used vehicle.

This is the second vehicle I have purchased from Kendal Cook at Bob Brown. Both Kendal and the dealership have always been very professional. The positive experience starts when you walk in the door, and continues though the sale, routine services, and as a returning customer. Kendal is the type of salesperson who is up front and honest, something which seems hard to come by these days. He has always worked hard for me, and treated me with respect and dignity. As a customer who can take their business anywhere to purchase a vehicle, or have it serviced, I continue to return to Bob Brown due to their customer integrity. Even after the sale, everyone has continued to go above and beyond to make sure I am pleased. As a veteran I also appreciate their acknowledgment of Veteran's day by providing all veterans with a free oil change on this specific holiday. Again, service above and beyond anywhere else I have been a customer. I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. I am not the type of person who normally gives a complete positive review, as I can usually come up with some issue and or area where things could be improved. However, my experiences with Kendal and Bob Brown have been awesome, to date I have no complaints!

Customer Service and followup were exceptional, number of vehicles to choose from was very good, questions were answered promptly and accurately. Prior to the sale, the internet representative followed up; the scheduler re-scheduled for us with no hassles, then followed up to be certain we could meet the appointment.Upon arrival, our wait was very short before Joe introduced us to the "Traverse expert", Kendal.Everyone was very accomodating to us and our five boys ranging in age from 11 months to 17 years, including three with special needs. The vehicle was ready a day sooner than expected and exceeds our expectations in all ways. Kendal took plenty of time with us during delivery, explaining the features and controls - including a live demonstration of OnStar.We will be returning (soon) to purchase another new vehicle from Kendal and Bob Brown Chevrolet.

Customer Service provided by the Salesman ensured that all of our questions/concerns were fully addressed. We were able to obtain an acceptable loan rate and term through the help of the Finance person. The salesman was able to answer most of my questions and address many of my concerns. When necessary he immediately sought answers to questions.The salesman was very friendly and took his time to make sure that all of my questions were answered and concerns were addressed.This car purchase was one of the easiest for me because I felt very much at ease working with the Salesman. Although the final price was higher than I had hoped to pay I feel that it was justified for what I received in return. The pre-owned vehicle is in excellent condition and Plan A with Extended Maintenace should provide many years of worry-free use.

My husband and I had been looking at cars online for several months. We could never find a time when we were both available to do the shopping in person. I found myself in Des Moines with some extra time on my hands, so I stopped in at Bob Brown Chevrolet. (There was a Kia we saw online that we liked.) Bill Fryer was the sales person that worked with me. He was so helpful and friendly!! Especially since I had my two kids with me - ages 5 & 9. (They loved the ride on the golf cart) I had never purchased a car on my own, but Bill Fryer made it a great experience. He was personable and professional and made me very comfortable with the whole process. When I stopped in at a local dealership I was dismissed by the salesman and told to come back when my husband was with me. Obviously, I never went back!! Bill, on the other hand, was happy to deal with me and my kids. We test drove the car, looked it over and took care of all of the paperwork. My husband and I were able to return the next day to sign the final contract. It took about 10 minutes of my husbands time and he loved the car too!! We are so glad with our whole experience at Bob Brown Chevrolet and will absolutely return when we replace my husband's car. Thanks!!!

It was a great experience for my mom to purchase her first brand spankin' new vehicle overall. Price was great, the salespeople were great, and they worked with us. My only issue is with the last minute sales pitch to try and get you to purchase the rust "proofing" when you're in the middle of signing paperwork. I've purchased it before (during that last minute salespitch) and it doesn't work...and once we told the finance person we would be waiving the fictitious rust proofing, her entire attitude towards us changed and she became very short. I felt blamed for talking my mom out of it when I had personal experience with it not working. What should have happened, was she should have taken down the name of the dealership (George White in Ames) I purchased the waste-of-a-grand rust 'proofing' from and taken it up directly with that dealership for scamming me. That would have proved to me this dealership was selling a quality product and we might have gone forward with the purchase of the rust proofing.

The only negative thing I can say so far is that when I went to pick up my newly pre-owned vehicle is that when I asked my salesman if it had a full tank of gas his response was "it should be close." I work with the public everyday all day long and to me his repsonse should have been "let me go check and fill it up for you." Other then that my overall experience as been great so far even working with the service department, they get your vehicle in quickly and get you out in a timely manner.

Our salesman, Eric Dowerah, was very low-pressure, which we appreciated as we were not sure if we were ready to buy a vehicle yet. We test drove the vehicle three times and never felt like we "had" to buy from them. Eric answered all of our questions and helped us find the vehicle that was the right fit for us. As far as customer service goes after the sale, Eric made sure to give us his contact information so that we could contact him directly any time with questions. We appreciated also that they were willing to negotiate price and show us the options that made the most sense for us financially. They worked with us to get a payment that we could afford. We were first time customers at Bob Brown and if we are in the market for a Chevy vehicle in the future or know others that are, we would not hesitate to return or recommend the dealership.

I have shopped and purchased new cars and trucks at other dealers over the last 30 years and have never had an experience like I had at Bob Brown's in Des Moines, Iowa. Jeff (Salesman) was great from the start. He greated me and did not try to show me what I didn't want, he listened to what I wanted and was very informitive about my car. Dave ( I assume he quotes trade-ins) was a very pleasant and a breath of fresh air. I have to say in the many years I have been car shopping, this is the first time I have ever gotten to meet the individual who quotes the trade-ins. He explained what and how he came to the price they wanted to give me for my Nissan...(I knew what it was worth from Edmonds for it's Trade-In value) he gave me more then Edmonds had quoted on the web site. He explained to me that they are in the business to sell cars and he wanted to make my experince a good one and be fair to me as well as he wanted to see me leave the lot in my Equinox...and he did. Tony (Finance) was as nice as the others. He was very sensitive to my needs and wants as far as payments as well as the down payment. HE WORKED WITH ME AND FOR ME...I will be sending everyone I know to Bob Brown from now on. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. I live in Newton, Iowa and drove the 30 miles to Bob Brown...I would drive further. I have shopped at Karl's Chevrolet in the past as well as Nobel in Newton, I will not be returning to these dealers. They should take a page out of the Bob Brown play book on how to treat customers.

We went in on a Monday night to test drive a car and we were not planning on purchasing. We were able to recieve the price we wanted for our trade in with minimal games. Our salesman was great, he wasn't a typical "salesman" and wasn't pushy at all. He was very personable and made us feel comfortable. Unfortunately there was a lack of finance people there and the sale took over 3 hours from the start of our test drive to signing the papers. We also had a hungry baby and she was not happy by the end of the evening. We ended up rushing through the paper signing just to get out of there.

The service I received on my visit to Bob Brown was exceptional. I used my experience, with Megin Nopoulos, in a training exercise in my own small business. I was pleasantly surprised when a representative called me back after I called about a used car (from the website). Megin called back within THREE minutes from my initial phone call. After I made an appointment for a test drive, Megin sent an email to me withing TWO minutes of our phone conversation. The email confirmed the time of my scheduled appointment, described the main entrance under the blue awning, included directions and a map to Bob Brown Chevrolet. I was able to test drive the car, within 15-20 minutes of my arrival to the dealership. Ed Olivetta was very informative about the car. Since it was early in my search for a car, I did not make an offer to buy the car, but Ed explained the price (and of course, was willing to sell the car to me that evening). Megin left two voicemails on my phone over the long weekend, as a follow-up. She wanted to make sure my visit and experience at Bob Brown was good. I am especially impressed with Megin, as she was very thorough, prompt, friendly, and her attention to detail was superb.

From the very first moment I walked in the door, I was treated with much respect by Billy Fryer. I have never met such a personable sales person. He did such a great job golf carting me around to check out all the vehicles that would fit our needs. Not to say I have bought to many cars, but I did sell them for 5 years. This was the best buying experience for me and my wife! I live 2 1/2 hours from Bob Browns. I found the Suburban that we were looking for (after 3 months of looking)on the internet at 4:30 p.m. on a Thursday and on my way home from work I called them and give them my trade info. Eric the salesman called me back 10 min.later, I told him where we needed to be on price and he called me back once more and they were so close we had a deal. Honesty is a big thing for anyone buy a major purchase and it goes both ways (for the buyer and the seller)! I told them everything about my trade I could and they were honest about there Suburban! My wife and I drove to Bob Browns on Friday morning and signed so paperwork and drove our (new to us) 2007 Chevy Suburban home and we love it! Eric did a great job with a couple of problems that we had with the truck. Bob Brown should be very proud of his employees! I stopped at the dealership and just wanted to look at a Cruz. Mr. Cook wanted me to test drive one, but I was leaving town the next day so said I would bring my husband back in about 10 days. We went in thinking there was no way we could make a trade, but Mr. Cook showed us three different vehicles and told us of some rebates and discounts available. He did some figuring and we found out we COULD make a very good deal and save us money on our monthly payments. We are getting more for less! He stayed late to help us make this trade, to our satisfaction. There was not pressure at all. Both he and the business manager, Lois Enga, explained everything to us both before the deal and after. In 2002, I purchased a new Isuzu Trooper from Bob Brown Isuzu. Last week, I traded that in on a new 2011 Chevrolet Traverse at Bob Brown Chevrolet. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and Doug Nichol identified several on the lot that more than my criteria. We went for a test drive & Doug was able to answer all of my questions, but there was never a high-pressure sales pitch. I went to chevy.com to find dealers in my area for a 2011 Chevy Cruze and submitted an online request. Bob Brown Chevrolet was one of the dealerships I selected and I received an after hours automated email within minutes of my request. The following morning I received a personal email from Megin with links to their inventory. She also called a little later to see if I wanted to schedule a time to visit the dealership. When I visited the dealership Doug greeted me within minutes of walking through the door. After a short sit down to make sure he understood what I was looking for we went out to the lot and he did a thorough walk through of all the vehicles options while parked and during the test drive. Doug was knowledgeable of the vehicle, answered all my questions clearly and in general is just a very personable man. I have visited other dealerships and felt pressured to make a decision that day, which makes me uncomfortable. Doug spent the time to show me the vehicle and broke down how the payment plan would work, but at no time did I feel pressured.My visit was less than a week ago and I have already told a few family members and friends of my good experience at Bob Brown.

Since 1969 I have purchased six automobiles from Bob Brown Chevrolet. (five new - one used) I have been extremely satisfied with each experience. The sales staff have always been friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer every question, without being "pushy" to purchase a vehicle that exact day.This is especially true with this experience-- when I purchased a 2011 Cruze LTZ. My salesperson, Kendal Cook, went out of his way to make sure that I was 100% satisfied before, during, and after the sale was made. In addition, the business department made sure I was given all the possible options in financing, as well as extra features I could purchase at the time.Even though I am a little "sad" that the dealership will be moving to a new location which will not be as geographically convenient for me-- I am sure that I will still service my new auto at Bob Brown, and when the time comes in the future for another purchase, I am confident that Bob Brown will be at the top of my list for another automobile. I chose Bob Brown based on my previous buying experience. I was in the market for a compact car with a good mpg rating for around town use. After reviewing many makes, I decided I wanted a 2011 Chevy Aveo LS. This is the base model of the Aveo, and exactly what I needed for around town use. Bob Brown had the Aveo LS, and they offered me a discount plus a large discount from Chevrolet. I decided to have A/C and cruise added. (Remember, the LS is a base model) The discounts I recieved covered the cost of adding both, and they installed the options in just one day! Jon and Joe are great salesmen, and a pleasure to deal with. I have purchased seven cars from them, and look forward to future purchases.

I liked that the salesperson was very helpful and friendly. I also liked he did not pressure me for a sale. I test drove several cars and went to a few other car dealers but I came back to Bob Brown. I liked the fact that they would deal with me and no just say this is the price of the car and there is no room to deal. I won a 1963 Chevy Nova SS convertible 02/23/03 that Bob Browns has sold Lakeside Casino in Osceola, Iowa for a sum of $17,500.00. I have pictures of the car before I won it to show it leaked fluids on show floor. When I won it I got to sit in the car to take pictures I said the gear shifter is not screwed in, and then said the sun visors are not there they told me floor mats and sun visors and other things were in the trunk. They did not have the keys to show me. The would not let me take the car that night they told me I had to wait till Monday to go to Bob Browns in Des Moines to sign papers. The car was sitting outside when I stopped by Monday Morning. An employee told me they had to push the car out it would not start, the back window is ripped out, and that there are many problems with the car. I was taken down stairs where Kevin Preston told me we could sign papers there instead of going to Des Moines, he gave me papers to sign having another paper on top of the as is. I trusted them. I was told my car would be delivered to me on a roll back truck or enclosed trailer. (Instead Bob Browns pickup/trailer delivered it over gravel and there was damage done. The driver refused to give insurance name; I called police they said the car was in 3 different counties and did not know where damage was done so they could not do anything. I called the boat and Bob Browns both refused to talk or help me. I explained the car did not run the man delivering the car said not to complain I won the car free.(since when is taxes and fees free)The driver told me that needed new carburetor and fuel pump and little things and that the accelerator peddle broke but I can get a new one. I have tried to get Ron Brown to talk to me for over 5 years he has never once done it. Matt and Tim wrote letters and sent but where is the proof I denied anything I told them what I wanted done and they refused why shouldn't I got a car worth $17,500.00 instead of one that many dealers said was not worth even $3700. I feel Bob Browns should do all the repairs to the car to get it in that condition and if you checked with Old Classic Cars dealers the car is not worth that much to this day in mint condition but according to Des Moines Register Ron Brown had stated the car is worth closer to $22,000.00. Yet when I took the car to Bob Browns to trade it in they offered me $300.00 now where is the justice. I feel the IRS should look into Bob Browns books and see if this is a common practice for them. I have pictures of the car and TV 8 came and looked at the car after I won it the 2 people could not believe that was the car. Any questions I would be glad to answer I will return your eamil asap Unlike Ron Brown who still has never returned a call to me yet and I have called and left many messages for him to Please call me back in the last 5 years and he still has not done it and I doubt if he ever does.
