i have had nothing but a great experience at chapman volkswagen. roland in sales was great over a year ago when i bought my car and still is super friendly when i bring my car in! the two mikes that work in service are amazing - they had my car fixed within 2 days of it being at the shop when it had multiple repairs that needed to be done. everyone is extremely friendly and i cannot recommend this dealership enough!!

I took my Passat to Chapman for service after having a less than pleasant customer service experience at another dealer in town. Chapman Volkswagen delivered excellent customer service, took my car in immediately and turned it around way before the promise date. I highly recommend their service department. Do not do business here. Volkswagen dealerships will do absolutely nothing when it comes to good customer service. They weren't ready even though I had an appointment and had been communicating with John Stanley. Luckily, the young sales guy helped out as much as he possible could until the finance part came. What do you think they did? Yes, you are correct, they lowballed me for half the value of my car because the battery is "dead". Check out my other review when it comes to the service the Volkswagen in Gilbert gave me. My car lasted two weeks with a "warranty" battery. It's sat ever since. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU DONT GO HERE. One old guy even told me AT THIS CHAPMAN VOLKSWAGEN, to leave when I was trying to buy a Honda Civic hatchback with cash!!! Nice work. I have been around customer service and retail for 9+ years now and this was a sad experience.

Went to the dealer to check out 2016 GTI Autobahn Performance Pack, Manual, 4 door, with LED lighting Package. Agreed to a price of 29908 with Internet Manager Mr. Drew Costas. Once presented with Price Sheet, there many add-ons like Dessert Protection, Nitrogen, Tint for an additional cost of $1200. I would not pay for those items and they would not sell me the car for the agreed price of 29908. STAY AWAY for unscrupulous Dealership.

I purchased a Jetta from them in 2010 and leased a Tiguan from them in 2013. I got a call several weeks ago from Shawn Sicari, saying that they need newer model used Tiguans and he could make me a deal on a new car. I ended up with a 2015 Passat, which I'm happy with. However, on the 7th day after my new lease, I started getting calls from Reza, the sales manager. He called me no fewer than 10 times, saying that they neglected to have me sign a paper. I've been really busy so I never called him back. Next, I had my salesperson, Shawn, start calling me, as well as the General Manager, Radu. They said I had missed a signature. Because they literally wouldn't leave me alone, I had Shawn meet me at Richardson's while I was at dinner with 6 other people so I could sign the stupid form.Of course I thought that would be the end of it, but the following week I had ANOTHER sales manager call me, saying that I missed another signature. By this time I was irate... why didn't Shawn bring it with him when he interrupted my dinner?? At least this guy mailed me the form; I signed it and sent it back.Today I just got a call on my cell phone, then immediately on my work phone. It was the finance guy - and guess what? I missed another signature! He said that if I don't sign it, then I didn't get the deal they had told me. I said, well if that's the case, I'm bringing this car back. He said, "Go ahead!" I asked if my old car was still there and he said, "I don't know - you'd have to talk to a salesman." ARE YOU F&*^&*I^&* KIDDING ME? They're acting like this is all my fault. Um, I apparently missed 3 DIFFERENT signatures - that's on you guys. Failure to do your job correctly does not constitute an emergency on my part. I hung up on him.The best part is that the state of Arizona has not yet been notified of the sale, so I'm getting notices from them that I let the insurance on my Tiguan lapse, when in fact I traded it in 5 weeks ago.I likely will buy another VW, because I do like the cars. But I will NEVER do business with Chapman again.I know this is a long review, so thank you for reading if you got to this part! :) Read less

I recently had my new Passat into Chapman 4 routine service and a couple warranty items. Peter was my service advisor. He was very courteous and efficient and I was pleased that everything was done on time and correctly and they even gave me a beautiful wash job. after having had a great experience with a past experience I was not expecting to be intentionally misled by the salesperson, and then have him completely disregard the vehicle I had clearly stated I wanted to se, but rather have him try to push me into another vehicle at over twice the sticker price. The manager verified the claim of the salesperson could not have been fulfilled, yet all I was offered was a chance to come back 2 days later and to deal with someone else. If that wasn't bad enough today I receive a form letter that completely disregards any troubles from Saturday and makes claims of purchasing a car from them makes you part of the family, however actual experience would indicate having purchased previously at this dealership has no advantage whatsoever. You are just another opportunity to see how they can sell you what they want, not what you are looking for. I highly recommend avoiding this dealership.

I am very careful with my auto purchases. Like most people I want the most for my money. Buying a car is usually filled with opportunities to go wrong. So I do my research carefully online. I know exactly what car I want and I know what a good deal would be. I went to a nearby Chapman competitor and presented my offer and was flatly refused! No negotiation, just NO; "we sell at MSRP". A few hours later I walked into Chapman and presented my offer and was asked a key question: "Are you ready to buy?"My answer was "Yes". The sales manager came back to me with an offer a few dollars LOWER than my ask. I was shocked; thought I messed something up. But no, it was the deal I wanted... no haggling, no jerking around. I strongly recommend this dealership.

According to the high ratings of this dealership my experience is the exception. While the service rep was articulate and helpful at first, he was horrible at keeping in touch and then returning calls when I inquired. My inquiry was based on a fuel smell, poor Milage and a liquid drip on underside, and request to change oil. I paid $150 for an inspection and $50 for an oil change. The diagnosis was "ruptured fuel line, parts obsolete". Scary to consider driving a potential car-b-que. It took three weeks to learn they could not help me. I had the vehicle over to Montz Auto Renditions and they fixed a WATER leak, a damaged filler cap and several other serious, latent items, a couple that chapman completely missed, in four days. Allegedly Chapman has a German immigrant mechanic that knows and loves to work on my type of vehicle, an older Rialta motorhome pulled by a VW chassis. An oddball for sure, but don't invite me over if the work is over your head. 12/19/14 updateThanks for your response Jamie, but the point is missed here. You are still covering your xxx, as everyone in this process has done, with a smile and friendly corporate tone. xxxxxxxx is still xxxxxxxx even if it is called Public Relations. The point was not the lack of parts. The points of my complaint were POOR COMMUNICATIONS and that Mike allegedly spent three weeks searching for a fuel line to fix a FUEL LEAK THAT DID NOT EXIST. The water leak, by the way, was disclosed when the vehicle was dropped off. All Mike had to do was keep me up to date as to what was going on and call me to say he could not help me. I had to chase him, and twice I had to reach him by calling his manager. This is an integrity issue. You are the first person to apologize, by the way. By the other reviews, Chapman seems to do a fantastic job. I'll bet it's a great place to have warranty service work or oil changes done on late model Tauregs, Beetles and such. In and out. I only came to you because other dealers in the valley said Chapman has the only hoist large enough to lift my Rialta and Mike said Chapman has a specialist on hand who knew the Rialta front to back. I would recommend Chapman send Rialtas to a Winnebago dealer for service and older Volkswagons, whenever "part obsolete" is an issue, to Montz Auto Renditions on 34th and Thomas. Those guys are rock stars in all aspects of a service experience; fast, thorough, communicative, detailed and reasonably priced. Take a difficult case to them and see how they handle it.

Who knew buying a new car could actually be fun and enjoyable.As a single woman buying a new car at a dealership i was very apprehensive. After doing some initial research and inquiries online I settled on working with Craig Cummings at Chapman Volkswagen.I knew what I wanted and had communicated with Craig via e-mail (then text) for about a week until I was able to finally visit the dealership. When I did arrive Craig Cummings was there and had a couple different Tiguans pulled up for me to take a look at and drive. From the get go Craig was friendly, knowledgeable, and NEVER pushy. The numbers we had discussed prior to coming to the dealership were exactly what was discussed (and my percentage rate actually improved after submitting everything to VW!!)I will certainly feel comfortable recommending Craig Cummings and staff at Chapman VW and I already have. Highly recommend. Thanks for restoring my faith in car guys Craig! Oh, I love my new Tiguan too!!

I was greeted cordially by James of the Internet Sales department and was promptly assigned a sales consultant named Tavo Terrazas who walked me through a detailed product introduction and comprehensive test drive. Tavo spent all the time I needed to understand the Passat TDI SEL's multiple features. The negotiation was quick, the car was prepped in no time and I was on my way. From the very first experience at Chapman, getting out of the car at the lot, I was really impressed. I was shopping with my teenage daughter but for a car for myself, as I wanted her to see the process, and Frank (my salesman) made sure to include her throughout. There was literally no pressure - here's what we have and can do for you - and I appreciated that immensely. We were at the lot for under an hour the first day, including the test drive and speaking about what I wanted, and I asked them to call the next day if they could make the deal work. The next day Scott and I talked on the phone and agreed on terms, and I was in and out very rapidly that afternoon to sign paperwork and pick up my car. No games, a very fair deal that my bank fleet buyer said was better than he could do, and great people to work with throughout. I will refer friends and repeat as a Chapman customer.

On 01/22/14 I had an appointment for an oil change and a light bulb replacement at this dealership, Chapman VW of Scottsdale. At that time I was told I needed a new vacuum pump for the braking system. (I was aware there had been a slow leak of engine oil at this point). I was told that if I did not have it replaced immediately, it was of great danger (scare tactic). Because of this, I did have it replaced. The part itself was $300. The labor charge on the invoice to install this was just under $900, which was for 1-1/2 hours of labor, which comes to $600/hour for labor. Is there a legal limit as to how much a dealership can charge for labor? I will take this to small claims court.

I came to this dealer because I had a "pre-negotiated" price through my insurance company. Once on the lot, Steve Cargill took me for a test drive on a new Jetta. The car was fine. Back in the office, Steve started to tell me that I had to pay extra for window tinting and nitrogen in the tires. The good news, according to Steve, was that my car buying program arranged special pricing for these items. $199 for window tinting and $40 for nitrogen in the tires. I said that I did not want to pay for this stuff and I wanted to pay the price on the price certificate I brought with me. Steve said OK. HE EVEN SHOOK MY HAND.Steve said I had to wait to see the finance guy to sign the paperwork. After keeping me waiting an hour, I was introduced to Nick in Finance. Nick printed out my paperwork (why was I waiting an hour?) Nick said that he had to charge me $239 for a special security etching that was on the windshield. He had me sign a special piece of paper for this. By this time I was tired of fighting and relented. I was never given a copy of the "window etching" paperwork.Upon inspecting the car in the light of day, there is no tinting on the windows. There is no nitrogen in the tires. Chapman VW sells you of "bill of goods" for these so called features they add to the car.I am never purchasing a car from any Chapman dealer in the future and I am never buying another VW.If you are smart, stay away from these guys.

This was my go-to dealer after dealing with the incompetent staff at VW North Scottsdale. That is until I needed to have a major item replaced that is still covered under warranty. I had hesitation to have such work performed on my vehicle, but was ensured that everything would be handled correctly. Once I picked my vehicle up, I noticed that there were several trim pieces on the interior of my vehicle that were scratched, some even having deep gouges. I immediately drove the car back into the service area to disclose my findings. Both the service advisor and manager were speechless. Not only did they incorrectly install the major component on my vehicle, they also neglected to replace some parts leaving holes exposed, and of course the scratches. I was assured that they would fix the issues and that everything would be as good as new. After contemplating legal action, I decided to have them fix their so-called work and take it from there. The management staff at this dealership refuses to take responsibility for what they have done, instead they basically made me feel as though they did me a favor(!) And then I received a phone call from "management" after the fact, where they stated to me that my vehicle may have already had those scratches prior to my bringing it to their dealership! So not only was it a slap in the face for the damage they caused the first time around, but no to insinuate that I may have done the damage myself! This is the kind of treatment this dealership believes in when dealing with a serious situation such as this. I had no choice but to contact VW North America and speak to the office of the president. Hopefully they will straighten out this mess and this dealership's holier than thou attitude. I will NEVER bring my vehicle back to this dealership, or give any Chapman dealership my business. I would rather return to VW of North Scottsdale then ever return here!

The sales process was made better by the willingness of the sales employees to make sure that the customer was fully satisfied. I had to have the radio exchanged for a GPS Navigation system which the service department was superb about to make sure that the unit was exactly what we purchased. They went beyond the usual limits to accommodate us.

I brought my Tiguan into the dealership for warranty repair of a faulty gas gauge. Dustin provided exemplary service in explaining the difficulty of diagnosing the problem. The repair technicians test drove the car and determined that the standard repair of replacing the part did not resolve the problem. Dustin again explained that the problem was unusual, and that Techline needed to the called for advice on how to complete the repair. Altough the repair took longer than expected, Dustin and the service staff made clear that they would keep at it until it was fixed.The gauge is working fine now, and I continue to recommend Chapman to fiends and family members interested in a VW.

I brought my leased vehicle in for service. Justin called to update me on the status of the service as well as the time frame of when to expect my vehicle to be completed. I was unable to pick up the vehicle the day of service so I came the next day. When I picked up my vehicle, it was filthy. Justin said that it was put through the car was the day before, but there were a lot of dust storms coming through. Justin was great at making sure it was run through the was again before I left the dealership. All questions and concerns were answered throughouly.

My 2008 VW Rabbit was totalled in April; I'd expected to be in that car until it keeled over but the accident left me heartbroken and carless. I've always been a Volkswagen girl- so I did my research and had my choices narrowed down to 2 cars: a GTI or Golf TDI. A friend and I went to Chapman VW and I was immediately greeted warmly and given the 5 star treatment...Frank Stevens was amazing and Adam West took me out for a test drive in a 6spd 2011 GTI that had just come off the truck. I was sold! The company I work for is ranked #1 is customer service in our industry and I take that very seriously everywhere I go- I have a heightened sensitivity to it and if the customer service is lacking, I politely leave. No need at this dealership- I was treated like I was the only customer in there and received the most gracious service from the time I walked in...I will be sending anyone looking for a car here and will be singing their accolades as long as I can. They LIED about the OTD price and wasted our time.First, I worked out a price with an internet sales manager (Steve) via email and telephone. I live 2 hours away from the dealership. My goal was to get an OTD price prior to traveling to the dealership. They gave us the best price and provided an OTD breakdown via email. I had financing and was ready to buy the car and be done. We worked out a great price. They asked for a 500 dollar deposit on the car and I provided the needed information for the deposit.Upon arriving at the dealership we filled out some Homeland Security Documents. Then the salesman made us wait around for 1.5 hours under the ruse that he did not understand how to use our financing check from bank. We could not leave since they had our check. We would walk by a room and they were just sitting in the room doing nothing. In the mean time they had plenty of other sales people lurking around. After waiting 1.5 hours the sales manager (Tyson) met with me and says he cannot honor the negotiated OTD price. He gives about 5-6 excuses and asks for about another thousand dollars. He even said he did not know about the deal, which was a lie since our first email was from him and we kept getting emails from him. We walked out on the deal. They wasted our time, gas money on a Friday night. Three days later we receive the following email from a different internet sales manager:(by this time we have already made a better deal for the same car with a local dealership)"I just wanted to touch base with you and see how we are missing your business? If there was one thing holding you back from purchasing a vehicle what would that one thing be? Maybe we can help! We do not want to miss your business over something silly so if there is anything that we can do to help please let me know. I can be reached anytime by phone or email, hope to hear from you soon."Kind of funny that something was holding us back when they did not honor the original deal.

I bought my certified Used 2009 Volkwagon Jetta about a month ago at Chaoman, Scottsdale. I want you to know I have had the BEST experience with your Dealership. My buying experience was so was very easy, and friendly, and nothing like what the stereotype expects. I am so very pleased. I brought my car in for an oil change on 6/16/ 2011 and worked with Dustin, and he was very friendly. He even let me know my battery was two years old, and would most likely die this summer in the Arizona heat. He showed me the test, and I did not feel at all like her was trying to sell me something I did not need. I appreciated the fact that he pointed this out, and saved me from the hassle of possibly having a dead battery in 115 degree heat. I also appreciated the fact that he let me know to come back in again in 10,000 miles to have my oil serviced again. My friend bought a Mini-Cooper (from someone else ) and was not told when to come back, but just to "top the oil off if it gets low."I have told everyone who asks about my new car about my great experience, and I will absolutely buy from you again when then time comes.Thank you for the great service experience!John Wallace

I tried Berge Volkswagen first and hated the experience. Chapman is further away from me, but definitely worth the drive, even with the rising gas prices. In addition to 1 year check, I was also having intermittent problems with the trunk not unlatching after the first pop. With my luck, of course I couldn't recreate it in the shop, but they still checked it out and loosened the latch since too tight, and I haven't had problems since.

I would recommend you for service, not for sales. Your service department is friendly and efficient. I never have a problem.However, my last sales experience was nightmarish. They sold me a NEW car that someone else had for 500 MILES, but listed 12 miles on the paperwork. After I got the car, we thought that the miles were something else, then when I called the sales girl told me. So I feel like they misinformed me totally on that particilar vehicle. Then they wrote up contract, VW finance didn't like it, they called me one day and HAD TO DRIVE OVER HERE IMMEDIATELY for me to sign new paperwork, which I didn't have time to review, while we stood outside my workplace. Probably won't buy another car from you.

Making the online appointment was very easy and convenient. Electronic response times were fast and an in person phone call to confirm was completed accordingly and appreciated. Time for completion of service estimate was provided with great accuracy. Price was not an issue as serivces were covered under warranty. I bought my car at Chapman VW, have only had it serviced there and will continue to have it services there (despite the 40 mile drive) because I trust the staff and know the services will be completed correctly and honestly.

I completed a financing application online, then had to complete it at the dealership also. I knew exactly what I wanted (except color) and explained over the phone about 4.5 hours before arriving. I was told that several vehicles would be ready for test drive when I arrived. When I arrived, there were not only no test vehicles but not one vehicle on the lot for the lease that I told them I wanted and was advertised at the time I called. Then, the lease terms were apparently not understood by finance and it took at least three times to get it right. At one point, I told the finance person that if they were not going to give the lease terms described in the banner advertisment and agreed to by the salesman and a manager, then I would walk. My wife and I were there for 2.5 hours and finally left without a vehicle (we did have a lease contract). During that time, we were led to believe that the vehicle was being prepared and we would have it when we left.You should train your staff to under-promise and over-deliver, and not accept the opposite.We were familiar with Chapman having purchased cars in the past and having a great experience with Tony DiSalvo at Chapman BMW. What a let-down. I cannot imagine going to that dealership for any future purchase or lease.

I went in to purchase a new Jetta TDI. I did my homework, I researched the car and the pricing for the car as equipped. I knew the exact options. Unfortunately, the color and options I chose were not available. They did a national search made some offers to other dealers but at the end of a week of trying they came and said this car is simply not available. This buying experience was one of the worst purchasing experiences of an auto sale. The vehicle I purchased two or three days after a test drive alignment was incorrect, front brakes needed to be replaced (rotors and pads), and an oil leak coming from the drain plug, also my owners manual was missing which is part of the the "VW Certification." It took three trips for the alignment to be repaired correctly, one trip included with the 3 previously mentioned to fix the oil leak that was spotted by a 3rd party mechanic shop, and 2 trips for the pads and rotors to be replaced. The dealership also chose the wrong trade in option with VWoA and I was to pay ~800 for my excessive milage but the dealership paid them for their mistake. I asked to see how I could be reimbursed for the many inconveniences but they said they would look into it. My overall experience is for anyone reading this be very cautious of purchasing any used vehicle that is "certified" or not and don't let the dealership get one over on you.

I have to pass by another dealer to get to Chapman VW which is far away from our home, but I read the reviews so Chapman got my business. Even tho we purchased our van in GA Justin Mitchell gave us honest and dependable service, I felt like a Chapman customer. He did all he could to accommodate me and my needs as a customer. We had another unexpected problem with our air conditioner a few days later and although the problem could not be identified at this time the tech who spoke with me was clearly knowledgeable about my van which was a first. The VW Routan is a newer vehicle which is why many are not familiar with it. Chapman VW is the type of dealer that VW would want representing them. I love the Routan and now that I have found a dealer who understands this vehicle I am even more satisfied with my VW!

The tire was repaired and since the blemish was not able to be buffed out a new window is being ordered and will be installed when it comes in. Over the course of 3 years of servicing my VW at this dealer, I was overcharged for service and a part was broken by the dealer which, after arguing with them for 1.5 years, they finally ending up paying for 50% of a $1,000 cost. when I finally came to pick up my car, it wouldn't even start and there was a array of new lights that came on that never had come on before. I ended up wasting about 2 hours of my day and had to leave the car there again. This is on top of trying to reach a manager for over a year to discuss my problems. I am glad I am selling my VW so I do not have to use this dealership again (it is the closest to my office / house which is the only reason why I used it)

I bought a used certified GTI. The vehicle was taken in to the service department to fix the key, then suddenly the car began to smoke. We called road side assistance which took two hours to get to us. The vehicle was towed but could not be looked at til the next morning. We were told we would get a call by noon. We did not, I called and was told the clutch was burnt out and it would cost me 2,400 if the fly wheel was bad and 1,400 if it was not. I asked why it was covered by the warranty and they said it was the drivers fault, I explained the vehicle was bought used and it was certified. They still insisted it was the drivers fault. I then called Tyson, who sold me the car and he said he would look into it, however when he called he just repeated what the service department said. He then told me Jeff from the service department would call me to see if anything could be done. Jeff never called and when I called him he stated he knew nothing about the situation. So again, I had to wait for a return call while he figured out what was going on. I then went to the dealership personally and talked with Jeff and Tyson both insisted the parts were not covered and Tyson had the nerve to say he knew it was my stepsons fault because he called him when the car broke down and there was no way it couldn't be his fault since he was all the way on the I17 in less than 20 minutes. We decided this was b.s. And finally asked to speak with the general manager. We were told to make an appointment by Tyson. While we were waiting other associates came out and told Jeff to just go inside and he walked away.We then had the vehicle towed to camelback VW who fixed it in 2 days without charge because it was covered under the WARRANTY. Camelback VW will get all of my business from now on. Worse thing is I bought two Challengers from Scottsdale and were told we had no right to get upset. Who wouldn't be upset after purchasing a vehicle and 3 weeks later be told it's going to cost almost 3thousand to fix!

Amazing that your price for a VW Beetle synthetic oil change is $44. Berge VW is $95 (or $59 with coupon) and random VW service shops are $69 and higher. Most dealerships are not competitive on service, so I appreciate this price as well as the friendly staff. Also, your waiting room is awesomely with good vending machines, comfortable chairs, wireless internet (huge!) and a work area -- this makes a big difference.My wife and I bought the Beetle for our daughter from a private seller -- we have a bias against buying used from dealers because we assume inflated prices outweigh any warranty. But I would definitely consider buying a new or used car from you based on your reasonably-priced service.And kudos to Justin.Keep it up!!!Addendum...moving down this survey form, I am extremely put-off by having to register in order to submit this form. Brought car in for valve body. Received letter warranty was extended and dealership got me in right away. I was happy about this because I actually received the letter the night before. When I called another VW dealership, they quoted me $2200 and never mentioned the warranty extension. Additionally, another VW dealership was supposed to call me back and never did!

Robert was very pleasant to work with and he took the time to explain what the problem may be with my windows. Since we couldn't reproduce the problem, he was very nice to tell me that he didn't want to throw labor at a problem and not fix it the first time. At just that moment, the window started acting up and he got a tech over right away to see the problem as it was happening. The tech said he had seen the problem before and knew what it was. Also, the cashier is super nice and very friendly!

Despite issues whether or not VW wanted to cover the repair of my window seal, Neil and the service manager were persistent to make sure I was happy with the warranty coverage of my vehicle. The window seal was ultimately replaced under the warranty and the wind noise that was driving me crazy went away. Once again great service at Chapman.

This is the third Volkswagen that I have purchased from Chapman. I had a 1999 New Beetle, a 2007 EOS (that got totaled in the 10/5/10 hailstorm in Phoenix) and now a 2010 New Beetle. Justin has been my service advisor for the last couple of years & is a great guy and Tyler Umpley (not sure of the spelling of his last name) has been the mechanic that has done all work on all three of my cars. Issues:1. 9/23/10: Nick couldn't figure out how to print a temporary registration so I was given a Dealer's plate which I had to return to the dealership the next day after purchase.2. 9/23 - 24/10: I was not given the second key to the vehicle because neither Roy nor Mike K could find it. When I went back to the dealership to turn in the dealer plate, they still didn't have it for me.3. 9/27/10: Nick told me I had to go to DMV to transfer the registration myself; that Chapman didn't do that. I took a 1/2 day off work, sat around DMV, and then found out that the dealership has up to 45 days to make the transfer of title yet I was given a 30-day temporary registration. Additionally, I learned that the transfer of title IS something the dealership does on a daily basis AND that a refund can be done by the dealership. I made another trip to Chapman. I met with Mike K who said he'd "take care of it". I also asked about the registration credit and he said a check would be cut. When asked about the second key, he said he'd order it and call me in 2 weeks.4. 10/12/10: Received bill from Chrysler for payoff amount on car I traded on 9/23/10. Also received bill for new VW showing two payments already received.5. 10/13/10: Called Chapman to ask Mike about the second key and Marcus about the bills. Found out that Mike no longer works at Chapman. Asked Marcus about the bills and he then transferred me to Chester. Chester said he'd look into the matter and call me back.6. 10/15/10: Received DMV registration for new car in envelope from Chapman but no refund check. No return call from Chester yet. Left message for him to call me.7. 10/16/10: Called Chester; he said he was "really busy and the Finance department isn't open on the weekend" and that he would call me on Monday.8. 10/18/10: Called Chester who then passed me off to Brian in Finance. Left message for Brian who returned the call within 15 minutes. He followed up with his registration person who over-nighted the payment to Chrysler and confirmed that a refund should come to me from DMV within the next two weeks.9. 10/20/10: Still no resolution about the second key. Called to speak to Chester and was transferred to Stacy. Stacy checked with the Service department who had no record of a key being ordered. An order has been placed and I should get a call from Service within two weeks to bring the car in to have the key programmed.Summary:Stacy is the ONLY person in this entire debacle of dreadful customer "service" who apologized for any inconvenience. I appreciate his attitude and Brian was very professional and I appreciate his ability to find where my case was dropped to keep Chrysler from reporting a late payment. There is no excuse for the poor treatment I received from Mike, Nick, Marcus, and Chester! Once the key is programmed, I will have made four trips to Chapman, spent more than 4 hours at DMV, and spent more than 3 hours in phone calls for this purchase! I will not be referring ANYONE to do business with Chapman Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/VW.

While i began my early (7:00am) Saturday morning visit (on 10/16/2010) to Chapman by bringing my daughter's 2004 VW Jetta into the service department and courteously greeted by Mr. Brownlee, my long day ended (around 7:30pm) by leasing a new 2011 VW Jetta SE, working with Tony Simmons and Chester Spychala. First, i owe a great deal of thanks and sincere gratitude to Mr. Brownlee, who unselfishly turned down his commission on an estimated $4000.00 worth of repair work, because of his professional integrity and dedication to serving the best interest of the customer. Mr. Brownlee, without hesitation, approached me in the waiting room, including bringing along the auto tech or mechanic, to explaing the extent of required repair work on my vechicle. After patiently explaining the problems and recognizing my dilemma and obvious state discouragement, he immediately led me to the sales department to discuss possible options - which included assessing the market value of my vehicle versus the cost of repairs. After considerable deliberations with Mr. Spychala and Mr. Simmons, I make the decision to trade-in the old vehicle in favor of a new leased vehicle. While all were especially courteous and helpful, Mr. Simmons provided exemplary assistance and guidance in helping my daughter and me make an informed decision. Mr. Simmons, while juggling multiple priorities with other customers (with prior appointments), provided extraordinary assistance and exhibited exceptional patience in showing us many vehicle options on the lot, as well as staying beyond his normal duty time to complete the transactions. In short, Tony Simmons provided outstanding and expert customer service, and should be viewed as a great asset to your sales workforce and business. Yet this would have never happened without the customer sensitivity of Mr. Brownlee in your service department. He is a gentleman and a great tribute to Chapman's business. I drove down to the dealership the next day, he was ready for me with the car and was extremely knowledgable and helpful. He was even patient with my three year old who was running around. This is the second Jetta TDI I have purchased from Justin and for the second time I have been greatly impressed with his customer service, no pressure salesmanship, and product knowledge. I was very pleased with my first 2006 TDI and when I found out there was 0% on the 2010's I had to look into it. Well needless to say with out ever really intending on buying a new car I drove away in a new TDI cup even more content then I was before with my VW product. I in 2008 my father went to Justin to purchase his TDI sportwagen and again purchased a new 2011 sportwagen from Justin the same day I purchased my 2010. Justin's made sure that were happy and his manager, Chester, ensured there was a deal we were pleased with. I even got more for my trade than I had expected. For anyone looking for a new or used Volkswagen I highly recommend they give Justin at Chapman Volkswagen a call.

I was very frustrated with my experience. I got the shuttle to work and it took over an hour to get here. I requested to be picked up as close to three as possible as that is the time I get off work and since I'd been late an hour and a half I needed to work as long as possible - - I was picked up at 5:00 - granted the weather was bad, but I don't think it is good to have so many people scheduled around the same time and have to go to so many places. I think I should have been picked up much sooner and taken back for my vehicle. The shuttle drivers are very nice; however, the way pickups and drop offs are schedule is not acceptable for someone who has to get to work. When I take my vehicle to Peoria I am given a ride very soon after I arrive and am picked back up around the time I request. Had I known I would have to wait for hours and then have another hour going around picking other people up I would have made other arrangements - by the time I realized I wasn't going to be picked up for a long time I'd already gotten off work at 3:00 and just had to wait.I was told that I needed a recall part put in and if they had the part they would do it that day. I asked to be called to let me know because if the part is not available I'll just go to Peoria and have it done there. I did not get a call letting me know if was available or not and had to call - I was then told that the part was not available. There was not a reminder sticker for my next oil change so I called to get the mileage I need to change the oil for.I usually go to Peoria Volkswagen; however, I had to go to Chapman because I have a problem with my window tint - it is very blotchy - almost looks spotted - I was told I needed to take the care to where I bought it. The service tech said my windows are not tinted - they are factory made the way they are and that it is normal for them to look this way. They were not always this way and they are getting worse. The only window that isn't like this is my windshield and I had that replaced. I am upset about the way my windows look and feel frustrated that I was told this is just the way Volkswagen makes their windows and basically I just have to live with it. If this is true then I don't think I want my next car to be a Volkswagen.

I was looking at a Golf TDI and it was too small. They had me drive a Jetta TDI and I was thrilled. Everyone was working with me, for me, were very friendly and actually had the same story/information and knew the vehicles. Having had bad dealer experiences before I was skepical they could do what they offered but they came through and in a timely professional manner.My only disappointment was the time on a very hot day it took to get the 2 cars from the back lot for me to test drive...argh ! I guess it's just the nature of the beast. All in all great experience, I got the car I wanted at the right price with no BS.Thank You

Justin was great, he was friendly, helpfull, thorough, and spot on. The service was also very good, everything was done on time and seemed to be performed properly. The only complaint I have is the availability of loaner vehicles. Camelback VW's premise is that someone should not have to go without a vehicle just because they are spending the time to protect their investment. The only reason Chapman was able to win my business was because I was ensured a vehicle would be made available to me, which it was. Unfortunately, this was done through Enterprise. I easily wasted 1.5 hours of my day dealing with that. I have to wait to be picked up by Enterprise, driven in the opposite direction of where I was headed, wait in line, fill out the paperwork and then finally I'm on my way. Returning the car, I have to again, drive out of my way, past the dealership, and I'm expected to match the gas, a trip to the gas station I would not otherwise be making. Then I have to wait in line again, complete the rental agreements, and then wait to be driven back in the direction I just came from to the dealership again. Is it the end of the World? No. But, I'm now considering driving a little bit out of my way to Camelback just to have my service done there, since it seems as if it will be ultimately more convinient and efficient. Again, my expereince with Chapman's service and Justin as my service contact was great. It is how I feel I should be treated in this situation. I just have a problem that a business as large as Chapman's cannot provide a simple loaner car.

Chapman is great! I (We) have been customers for a long while. I was very pleased to see that in addition to our visit and repair, they did an update to our sunroof drain (recall). I would never have know about this unless we had been in for an unscheduled service. i hope the electrical module replacement is a fix to cure all our electrical issues we have experienced the last two years. All of a sudden this Beetle is performing as it did many years ago. It is a 160 HP Turbo 20 Valve 4 cyl. engine, etc. Thanks, JEM/KLM

The emissions indicator light came on and the engine was sputtering so I pulled out the owners manual. The manual said to call the dealership immediately. Becky was able to give me an idea of what the problem might be and provided a phone number for VW roadside service. My vehicle is still under warranty so the roadside/tow service was free of charge. I called VW customer service and they sent a tow truck within 30 minutes of my call. The two truck driver delivered my Jetta to Chapman Volkswagen at about 3pm. I received a call at about 4:45pm stating that my car was ready and that they replaced the ingition coil recall part. We showed up at Chapman Volkswagen at about 5:30pm to pick up the car. Becky was extremely friendly and helpful when we arrived. Becky made what started out to seem like a nightmare into just a little bump in the road. I will definitely tell this story to anyone that will listen. Thanks.

I thought the price for 20,000 miles service fee is really high. All the other cars that I and my husband had we never had to pay that much for routine service. Employees at Chapman is always friendly and courteous. I always have to wait for the work to be done as I live too far away to get a ride home and they always are willing to provide transportation to anywhere I want to go. I am very happy with Chapman.

WARNING!!!! Very disturbing and questionable business tactics. I figured the Chapman name stood for integrity. I have dealt with Chapman BMW for several years without any problems. This must be the black sheep of the family. I have placed 6 calls to the dealership since signing the contract. Mike K, Marcus and Brian each provided a different version of what happenedeach call resulted in a different story. Good luck getting any of the upper management to return your call. Carmine Grassi (GM) must have too many complaints- his voicemail will no longer accept messages. Chad Hubler (GSM) hasnt returned three phone calls. Still waiting for Brian to return my call. Mike says we can return the car Brian says we cant. I wanted to speak to Baxter Chapman since its his name on the dealership, but I was told by the receptionist that he doesnt accept calls from customers. WOW that blew me away. All I am trying to do is figure out where we are in the deal which bank, which financing package two conversations with Marcus and one conversation with Brian have provided us with 3 different versions. Save yourself the brain damage and go to the VW dealership in North Scottsdale.

The first person that approached us was Daniel, he was very courteuos and LISTENED to what our needs were. He did not try and steer us into something more expensive, which had happened at other dealerships. He worked with us to find the car that would best meet our needs.The next person we met with was Michael. He was determined to fit the car we had fallen in love with into our budget. He worked with us and re-priced using different terms, different incentives, different promotions, etc...finally we came to an agreed upon price.The final person we met with was Marcus. Marcus was extremely thorough and made sure we understood eveything. I was supposed to get a rear spoiler put on my car. No one from the service department could look at the spoiler and figure out what shop I need to be at before I get there? It was a whole wasted trip and another scheduled appointment to drive to from Goodyear. That is terrible managment, I would have been fired from my job.

Prices, though higher than non-dealer garages, are still competitive compared to other VW dealers. Everytime I go to Chapman Volkswagon, I am greeted in a friendly manner within seconds. They always give me an estimate of the time it will take them and ask if I have any other issues with my car. This time it took slightly longer than quoted, however, Justin kindly took the time to let me know it would only be a few more minutes. The car was waiting to be washed, so I gladly waited! This time I was just in for an oil change but was excited because I had received a 25$ gift card from Chapman for being a valued customer. These are things that keep me returning to Chapman. Another great experience :)

I had a 9:00 appointment for an oil change on Thursday, July 2nd. When I got there, I met Neil right away and he was very nice. He took my car, and I waited in the waiting room. An hour and a half later, I was still waiting and getting anxious about why it was taking so long. Finally, at 10:45 I was told my car was ready, Neil shook my hand and I paid the cashier. So why did an oil change take an hour and 45 minutes? I didn't ask, because at that point I was very irritated and just needed to get home as quickly as possible. No one mentioned the reason for the long wait, nor did anyone apologized for the long wait. So I'm wondering, is this normal to have to wait almost 2 hours for an oil change that is scheduled in advance? Since no one mentioned anything about it to me, I am going to assume this is normal. Needless to say I will not be returning to Chapman VW because you wasted my time and didn't even acknowledge it.

Everyone we've worked with at this dealership has been wonderful. They are always helpful and kind. As my car was being maintenanced this past week, Keith Gallaway, our service manager was professional and courteous. The periodic coupons are the real reason I keep returning to Chapman VW for routine service. Even though Chapman is over 20 miles from my house, I feel the service discount makes it worth the trip. The customer lounges are a bit sparse. At a minimum, I would like to see a purified water dispenser and free WiFi in the lounge. These cost-efficient upgrades would really make for a positive customer experience during extended wait times. Kevin Fore and the service team were fantastic. Very professional and courteous.

Chapman VW has been servicing my vehicles for over 10 years. I have never, ever considered changing dealerships. I have always been treated well in sales and service. The work performed is always perfect the first time. The staff is kind, courteous, helpful, understanding. I feel respected. It's all good. I'm happy!

I had to wait quite a while for the first time at my last visit. Usually the estimated time for completion is more than adequate and my vehicle is ready well before then. This last time, I'm guessing due to reduced workforce and the economy. I waited an extra hour and one half. This is not typical and I hope will not continue. I felt bad that my customer service rep actually washed my car due to lack of staff and the extended wait. I would also like to mention that when I have picked up my car from service in the past. The radio was changed to another station, the air conditioning was left in the on position. My rear view mirror & seat positons were changed. It would be nice for the service guys to be a little more respectful. They only have the vehicle for a couple of hours and don't drive it but around back.Justin does a great job taking care of my needs. None of the above should refect on him. Thank you.

Everything was great, very friendly staff and good service to my car. I also was very comfortable in the waiting area and Keith came to check in with during my wait. The only thing that I was not impressed with was the length of my service. I was in for an oil change and it took two hours!

My wife and I just moved here from Las Vegas Nevada and wanted our vehicles serviced. We own a 2008 VW Jetta and a 2008 Dodge 3500 Truck. We were able to visit one dealer (Chapman)for service of both vehicles which was a great blessing. The first person I had contact with was Justin Lenocker, Chapman's VW Assistant Service Manager. Justin was very professional and took the time to explain to me everything that was going on with my vehicle as well as took his personal time to take me everywhere I needed to go around the dealership from the service bay where he listened to everything I needed to say about my vehicle and what I wanted looked at to coming in to me to tell me additional things they found that needed work. Justin then came and got me when the VW was done and took me to the cashier and then right to my vehicle. I appreciated the one on one personal touch.

I have a VW that I lease and will be turning in next month. After reading some online reviews I decided to bring my car to Chapman. Kevin Fore was my service advisor and was by far the BEST service adivsor I have ever dealt with. He was genuine, honest and delivered everything he promised. He made my visit an exceptional one and I have already recommended Kevin to several people I know. He is an asset to Chapman. The only negative thing I have to say is that I wanted to purchase the VW since the lease is up but the Finance Manager failed to call me back after I left 2 messages for him, so I ended up purchasing a new Honda, perhaps the finance manager could take some lessons from Kevin Fore.

When I made my appointment with a service representative [woman], approximately 2 weeks in advance, apparently it did NOT get logged in.When I arrived for 9:30 a.m. appointment that I had scheduled on MY calendar, my service & name was not on the board outside. But Kevin registered me regardless, took me right in for my scheduled appointment at 9:30 a.m., he said it'd take about 3 hrs what I need to have done, 40,000 mile check up and the VW Eos top wouldn't go down.I said I'd wait, after a while Kevin came in to say that it would take longer than expected for all of the check up and repair on the top. So they were kind enough to get me a rental car so I would not have to wait in the customers lounge for 6 hrs.I was very thankful for that courtesy. My car was ready that same day, brought the rental back, paid my bill, and left with my car.So far the weather here has been below normal "cool", so I have not been able to put the top down to try it out, but I will as soon as the Arizona weather warms up again.Thank you.

I've been taking my VW to Chapman for service for about 5 years now. Although the faces have changed in that time, the service has always been excellent, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Work is done in a reasonable amount of time, if not quickly -- it's usually faster than I think it will take. Some routine services (oil change, etc) may be cheaper at non-dealer shops, but I've received such good service at Chapman that I'd rather spend the extra money with a service department that knows my car and treats both of us well, than go hunting for an independent mechanic or shop that could or would do as well for less.

He knows the car (2004 VW Toureg) very well and keeps me informed as to what needs to be done and how long it will take. Every time I go there I am made to feel as a very valued customer. It is little far for me to drive but I prefer Chapman VW better than Berge VW. Justin is always courteous and keeps me informed about the work that is being done or needs. I usually wait for the service to be done so it is noce to have the coffee/tea maker right there.

Although I would prefer to never have to have any service beyond the basic maintenance, my Beetle has required some extra attention. Justin has always been very kind and the car has always been returned to me in promptly and in much better shape. Justin is friendly, the serivce guys do a good job and the dealerhip offers a better experience than the other VW one that is actually closer to where I live in Chandler. The price is competitive with other dealers but not as good as independant service centers for VW. If I continue to have repeat issues I may have to switch to a local garage for cost efficiency.

We brought the Jetta in for an oil change and to have the engine light that had been coming on intermitently checked. This happened once before and there was nothing wrong, so we weren't too worried. Justing was great. He ran the diagnostic, determined that it was the timing belt and that it was covered under the certified pre-owned warranty and had everything taken care of! I can now rest assured that when my student has her car up at NAU that everything is in good shape and she's safe driving this vehicle.

MY HUSBAND WAS A MECHANIC SO HAVE HAD LOTS OF EXPERIENCE WITH BOTH RACE VEHICLES AND STREET CARS. NOW THAT HE IS GONE, HAVE TO DEPEND ON A DEALERSHIP TO TAKE CARE OF ANY MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. HAD HOPED A VW DEALERSHIP WOULD BE PLACED IN TEMPE AS I LIVE IN AHWATUKEE AND THAT WOULD ME MORE CONVENIENT. I had an oil change and requested some pricing on some other items. My tire pressure sensors won't shut off and I was told I needed a part that was ~$700. Then I lost the keys to my roof rack. Apparently that is another ~$600 or so. OR I could call another dealership and get both of these fixed for $500. Oh, and I had to pay a $15 diagnostic fee for the "test" on the sensors. The oil change on my 6 banger was ONLY $70 as well. This is not my first experience with this dealership but unfortunately it is the last. In this economy they seem to find the need to gouge the customer to make their numbers. Too bad.

I am so happy I came in. Kevin was extremely friendly and helpful. I felt like I knew him for years and I actually just met him. I was in very good hands. I will be returning for all of my service and maintenance. He made my experience a great one. I wanted my car to be inspected because I was out of the country for 4 months. He brought me into his office and thoroughly explained everything they were going to do. He recommended an oil change as well. He came into the lounge to check on me while I was waiting and to let me know the remaining time on my car being finished. This was the best customer service I have ever had with getting my car serviced.
