I live in Chicago suburbs, liked a 2020 M760 at this location. It was my first experience to buy virtually, upon inquiry I was contacted by salesman Josh promptly, he sent me additional pictures and video. I filled the application, all was done timely. Josh was very helpful in finding me a car shipper. Paperwork was done in few days , car left the dealership on Friday and I got it Monday. Best in the business. I took my car in to get a couple of recalls remedied. They provided a loaner while they serviced the car. Once they completed the service, they found some issues with the lighting which they then serviced as a courtesy. Everything was fast and efficient. The staff was amazing from start to finish. They definitely have their clients' best interest in mind.

Competition BMW of Smithtown has always been good to me. The service department is excellent. They always treat me like a queen. My car always gets washed, clean and shiny after each service. They always do a great job, and don’t over charge me. They even gave me discounts this time around. I can count on them to not rip me off. I bought four cars in the past 20 years from competition BMW. I’m sad that I’ll be leaving the area, only because I won’t have BMW to service my car anymore.

This was the easiest car buying experience yet. Theresa was AMAZING. She worked with me and got me the exact car, exact color, exact seat I needed really quickly and we couldn't be happier with her level of customer service. The car is gorgeous! I entered this dealership as I entered many throughout the past few months in search of a vehicle. Every dealership had the same gimmicks in terms of ridiculous assumed hidden down payments. Not all dealerships were local to me and when calling ahead, they all claimed to have the vehicle in stock, and they were looking at it. I went, they vehicle was sold. I asked to show me the sales invoice and none were able to produce it.Thats when I arrived at Competition BMW. I had my guards up, and as usual, I was prepared to be harassed into purchasing a vehicle with every penny squeezed out of my pocket. This was absolutely not the case. From the second I walked in I was greeted by the receptionist in what you could immediately see was a relaxed environment. There were no sales people hovering around looking for their next prey. I was introduced to Antonella who had the nicest smile and personality Ive ever seen at a dealership. Used car salespeople are usually very aggressive and not relatable. She was amazing. We started talking about the car and ended up comparing stories about our families and our little ones. She was very kind and knew allot about the vehicle. She took me down to check it out and it was an amazing experience.One concern I had was that I was trading in my vehicle. All dealers fluctuated by 2-4K in difference. It was clear they were trying to significantly undervalue my trade in. They even delay giving you numbers until they know what you're looking for etc. Antonella on the other hand had those numbers ready for me before we even got back to her desk. I didnt even have to argue about it because they gave me the highest amount right off the bat for my vehicle.We did the deal and she even went above and beyond to see if I qualified for any additional savings. Turns out I did and that was AFTER we did all the number. Have you ever been to a user car dealer and saved money AFTER all numbers were negotiated? Me never, but this time I did. Im not saying everyone would experience this, but it tells you something about the staff and the dealership if they save the customer money that could have gone to their bottom line.The paperwork, financing and delivery were smooth and no hassles at all. The car looked even better than it did when I saw it upon pickup. Antonella was personally there to meet with me and make sure everything was up to my liking. No shortcuts were taken, and they genuinely cared more about my experience than anything else. To be honest, I wanted to hang out a bit longer before leaving :-)I would highly recommend this dealer for your purchases. Not only are the prices very competitive, but you do not have to deal with the hassles that typically ruin car buying. It was very relaxing experience. I highly recommend this dealer.

Being that it was our first BMW experience and the nicest vehicle we'd purchase my wife and I were apprehensive about everything. Right away, Marc made us comfortable with his calm demeanor, low pressure conversation and expert knowledge. He was patient with us as we went through certain options, test drove cars and distracted our toddlers from screaming and wrecking the place. A lot of dealers probably get spoken about like this but Marc really gave the "family man" vibe and came across honestly. We were offered a nice lease deal on a 2016 535i xdrive, which was the best size and trim for us. We liked the color and the fact that it was almost brand new. Before that day I had done most of the research on BMWs and part of me had really liked the msport package, which the lease did not have. There were little details about it that just made a huge impression on me. But with the lease deal I had convinced myself it was the right car and we had a good deal so I'd move forward. My wife was easy going with the process and just wanted me to be happy. We signed papers, put a deposit down and went home. Then I couldn't fall asleep, I had buyers remorse and knew it wasn't EXACTLY what I wanted. I panicked, wondering if I'd be able to fix this and emailed Marc in the middle of the night, explaining to him my issue. He texted me in the morning, understood where I was coming from and recommended starting the process all over. It was as easy as that. I came back in, we found the exact car I wanted (2014 535i xdrive msport) and he gave me a fair deal on it. It couldn't have ended any better. He did what was best for me and my family, not him.. and that's what I truly appreciated. We'll plan to work solely with Marc when we return for out next deal. (X7?). Also, from the front desk to the finance department, they are all professional, kind and a pleasure to be around.

Had to take my BMW in for annual inspection.. and tire rotation and balancing... Easily made my appointment through my wonderful salesperson Antonella... and then she set up with Joseph in Service to write my appointment and set up loaner vehicle for me When I arrived... everyone there expected me.. and Joseph wrote up my service and the ladies set up my loaner car.. all took no time at all... My car was ready as promised and I did return first to chat with Antonella and then Joseph found me to say my car was washed and ready for me to pick up.. The X1 was cute but the wagon fits my dog, art, camping lifestyle best. I'm a self motivated buyer however my experience was good. Only lingering issue was I wanted an extended warranty and was sold an extended maintainance contract. I rescinded it when I realized and was told I could buy an extended warranty anytime before the original expired. I wanted 6 years/100k miles. I was quoted $2500. When I returned to dealership to get lessons on the equipment on car and attempted to buy the extended warranty I was told it was $3400. I was told it was only $2500 if you bought it at same time as you purchased the car. I certainly would have done so if I'd known it would be more later. That was not mentioned. Seemed to want to sell the maintenance, not the warranty.

My current lease was ending and was dreading going to the dealer and spending all day going back and forth in negotiation. Decided to give Competition BMW a shot. I must say, I did not get my usual headache nor did I leave the place feeling like I could have done better. I was happy with the price and extremely excited that Ron Figat from the finance dept (the place where you sign and make the deal final) did not tried to sell me everything under the sun or pad the agreed price. Nina Maldonado the Sales person was fantastic and very informative, not only did I look at one BMW, I leased two. The young man that explained the controls in the cars , Nick Bogdan was very informative and patient.

This is the place to go for your BMW and you have to ask for Phil!! I've had BMW's and Mercedes before and while the cars are always great the dealers are always awful. They're always so stuck up and snobby. They act like the cars sell themselves and they don't need to do anything extra for you. Working with Phil was the complete opposite. He went out of his way and handled every detail, even things that I didn't ask for. He made it so easy on me. The service that Phil offers is absolutely unheard of and he does it all without asking. And the price was amazing!! No dirty tricks or shady business at all. Everything was upfront and clear, he worked with me to find the exact car I wanted and beat every other dealers price the first time. I'm just sorry I have to wait for this lease to be up before I can go back and get another one from Phil.

They were all very proffesional, starting with Nicole who tried reaching me for almost two months and never gave up on trying to set up an appointment. Eventually i decided to go and check the cars and fell in love with their customer service and kindness so i ended up getting the car the same day. I have driven only Mercedes fo 18 years. I thought I would look at what other manufacturers had to offer. There are a lot of great cars available, both domestic and foreign. The problem is the dealer experience in most cases is awful. I have had great experiences with Competition's Mercedes store and Competition BMW maintains the same high standards of customer care. I did purchase my BMW from them.... and they have always gone over board to make me feel welcome and a part of their family. Dealt with both my salesperson Antonelle Martinis and then my service adviser Joe. Both assisted me and got me out as fast as they could.. explaining fully the time frame of the work. While there I did ask one of the BMW Genius a question and again no issue helping me out fully. Bought a 328xi back in July of 2015 and had a wonderful experience! The bmw was a loaner car with 5,000 miles and I bought it as a lease. John Oliveira was able to make me an offer I couldn't refuse! I've purchased many vehicles in my life and usually I dread going to a dealership. My wife and I decided that our 10 year old Audi convertible was due for a change. I first went to Audi, we liked the new convertible but decided to look at the new BMW 418i convertible as a comparison. We decided to go to 2 dealerships to get a comparison with both knowing the other was quoting us a price. The first dealer we took a test drive and decided we liked the car. The salesman was asked to give me his best price no haggling just a bottom line figure. We told him we would call him after we received the other dealers price. We then went to Competition Imports and met Phil. Phil was warm and courteous taking his time explaining Competitions advantages. We explained what we wanted and he said they didn't have that vehicle on the lot. He then said another vehicle (slightly more than we were looking for) was in transit from Europe and would be here in two weeks. Unfortunately it had additional extra's then we wanted by about $3,000.00 MSRP. We both thought here we go bait and switch. Phil worked up the numbers and he actually came in $2,000 less than the other dealer. I called the other dealer and explained that we were getting more of a vehicle for less than his bottom line. I explained that this dealer asked what I did for a living and got an extra $1,500 concession. He interrupted and said he can do that as well. I told him he can but it will be for another couple as we are buying the car from Competition. In addition, Phil explained for maintenance and scheduled services they would bring a ;loaner to my house and take my vehicle back for servicing. That was icing on the cake. A pleasant experience all around.

I went to BMW looking for a lower model SUV such as an X3, but ended up purchasing a "like new" pre-owned X6. I always loved the X6 but felt it was out of my price range, but was able to get a great deal on it. Tom made everything easy and followed up whenever necessary. It was a painless process and I would definitely recommend him to a friend. Helga assisted with all of the financing and that was a breeze as well. ***UPDATE! After I signed, the customer service went down hill fast. Examples: 1. It took nearly 4 weeks and numerous phone calls to get my deposit back. 2. I called Tom and asked a question about a TPM Malfunction and was told he would get back to me the next day. Three or four days later I followed up, he said he had been sick and would find out the next day. Two days later he asked me what my question was again. The following day, I had not heard anything so I asked what was going on to which I was told "call my service department." Thanks for nothing. Rating changed from 5 star to 3.

Ron helped with all the paperwork on the day of the sale and then a few days later I went in to pick up the car on the delivery date which was the last day of the month. Car dealerships are quite busy on this day. However Ron was under no stress at all even though they were delivering a ton of cars that day. He was organized and efficient and I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes, 10 minutes to complete all the needed documents and 10 minutes to relax and just have a nice conversation with him. With all that was going on that day and I am sure it was long. He took the time to make sure i new what I was signing and he was organized in fact he made everything seem so simple if you did not know it was the busiest day of the month you would think it was a Monday morning at 9am calm cool collected and efficient leaving nothing undone and no question unanswered.I hope to deal with Ron in three years when I turn this car in and get my next BMW. thanks RonFrank C Perry DDS

I received a call from Phil Laccone that the lease was coming due on my 335i and I should stop by and look at the new lineup. I did lease my 335i from Phil. I ordered my BMW 2016 X- line,X drive X5 35i. X-line car front and the back bumper should be silver chrome, but When I got the car I found it's black plastic made. It's the same as basic line. After a wonder delivery of my NEW BMW convertible... I was dismayed to see that the tow cap was stolen from my rear bumper. I called Antonella to ask her what I can do?? she took care of getting me a replacement part.. When I went to pick up the cover... Bill informed me that the part was not painted in RED but in BLACK... He suggested that I get it painted my colour and then took it upon himself to have it painted my colour and ship it to me.. I did get a follow up call from Howard.. saying he was sorry that I had to come out to pick up the part only to find it not painted.. so he assured me HE would have it sent to me and apologized for my trouble. I had the greatest buying experience yesterday when I picked up my 2015 X5. My sales advisor was Antonella Martinis, she was available for questions during every step of the sale and was extremely helpful in making the process a very smooth transaction. This is my second purchase from Competition BMW. This is the sixth BMW for my wife and I .Previously we have done business with another BMW dealership in the area but after working with Antonella we will not go anywhere else for our BMW's. We also came into contact with Jonathan Bottomley, Sales Manager who also was extremely helpful during the buying process. Attempted to purchase a 2013 CPO BMW 550ix. Salesperson failed to provide maintenance records despite my multiple requests. Flew 1300 miles to their dealership. Car wasn't ready. Left waiting for over 2 hours with no explanation. When I told them I wanted to see the car, salesperson told me it would be ready "shortly". When I asked why the car wasn't ready, salesperson indicated "everything was okay." No member of management even attempted to welcome me or to clarify and appease me for the major delay. Was left wondering around, and they were not even busy with customers. Car had dings, dents, and deep scratches. Brake area in the wheels was not even cleaned. Was jerked around over my insurance, despite I had already provided it. Left stranded in the suburbs of New York on a Friday at 7pm. Was treated like a criminal. Dealership still has not even refunded my $500 down payment made with my credit card, which I am already contesting with my credit card company. This has been by far my worst car buying experience ever, and I have bought cars in the past ranging from $5k to $75k. Buyers beware of unprofessional staff at this dealership who will say or promise whatever to get customer to buy a car. Never expected this horrendous experience from a BMW dealership. Will certainly take my money somewhere else where customers are valued, respected and appreciated.

My lease was up, so I came back in to order another car. This would be my 4th lease, but my first time dealing with Helga. It is a good thing that I knew the dealership, or I would have cancelled my car after dealing with Helga on the phone. For my previous leases, and my husband's purchase and lease, I had dealt with another financial person. Helga was beyond awful. She was all sweet and cheery until I asked a question, or did not agree with her. Then she talked over me on the phone, did not listen and was totally frustrating! Do not base the dealership on her, since everyone else is wonderful, but do be aware when dealing with her.

She found my information and we sat down to pick a new BMW 4 series convertible that I wanted. I bought a BMW from this dealer and its was certified and pre-owned. It had a clean Carfax that I was presented with. After 6 months or so I checked the Carfax again to find that the car had been in a collision from the rear from the previous owner! This was not disclosed to me. I went to the dealer and the people below were involved. So was NA and Germany. They ran a magnet around the car and told me the Carfax must be wrong. They told me that they would take the car back on a trade, buy it outright or pay the difference because of the dirty Carfax. They told me to give them 2 weeks. That was months ago with zero contact, no calls back, no e-mails returned and being completely ignored as a customer. I was told that people were unavailable, in the hospital (I hope not) and on vacation. No one else could help me. NA did nothing but support the dealer and Germany punted the issue back to NA. Fast forward, I now has a CPO BMW that is worth much less due to the undisclosed Carfax issue. I would never have bought this BMW if it had been known and disclosed to me that it was in any type of accident (minor or worse). Competition BMW at all levels refuses to communicate, rectify the issue or do what is right for the customer (me). It is sad and unfortunate that this is what the brand has come down to with this dealer. As a result they have lost a customer for life and I would never buy another BMW again because of this experience. I am sure that they could care less. My service experience was just as poor with this dealer. FFF rated experience. Horrible.

First off, I have to say, I am not the normal person to write reviews but I have to say I had a extremely pleasant experience with Jason. I placed my order for the 2015 X3 over a month ago(had to wait for it to be built) and I had changed the options multiple times since I was indecisive. Every time I would email or call him, he would respond quickly and had a great attitude!He even replied after hours, now that is exceptional service! They gave me a great price from the beginning and never pressured me at all! I had other dealerships who were willing to match the price however, I decided to give the best dealership the my business since they gave me a price with no hassle or haggling. I would definitely recommend Jason and Competition.

William DeRosa the car apparently is yours if you want it see review below. I was the person who was going to buy the car! I had put a deposit on this vehicle almost a month ago, and now Chris (Pre-Owned manager) has decided to pull the deal one day before I was scheduled to pick it up because he didn't think it was going to be a "good fit".When I first came to see the car, it wasnt even ready to be test driven, so I put a deposit on the car and placed a contingency of test driving the vehicle before purchase. Also there was a light on the dash indicating a TPMS issue (so Jonathan the new car sales manager stated) that could not be fixed, and I had to acknowledge this in writing. I asked for a receipt showing what the out-the-door price of the car was, and I was handed an invoice indicating the price along with other dealer fees.I was going on vacation the following week, and the salesperson was going the week after, so the earliest pickup could be was Labor Day weekend. I was ready to pick up after I returned from vacation, but the salesperson insisted on being present. I wrote the salesperson after she returned from her vacation and was informed the car could not be prepared in time for Labor Day Weekend, so it would have to be the weekend after.In the time I was waiting, I had done some research on the TPMS issue and found that this was an easy fix. So I called the dealership to have them take a look it turned out it was a brake sensor light issue due to an aftermarket brake kit installed on the car (even thought it's written as a TPMS issue on my invoice). Again, I called on forum friends and other BMW EXPERTS if this was a fixable issue, and of course the answer was yes. So I called back to demand this be taken care of and the response was I going to pay for that. My thought was why would I pay for something that would be an easy fix for the dealer who was getting the car ready for sale? If this light was on and it's an easy fix, why didn't they just do it to begin with? Before picking up the car, I wanted a copy of the maintenance history that had been done on premise, a checklist showing what had been inspected on the car prior to purchase, and a paint micrometer handy to show if any work had been done, and a test drive. I dont think those were unreasonable requests. Jonathan agreed. I went and got the check two days prior to pick up. The final straw came down to what I perceived to be hidden fees. I live in CT and was looking to buy the car in NY. The title transfer fee would be an additional $500 something never mentioned in my original conversation nor was it noted on my invoice. This was in addition to the dealer fee and the optional dealer fee for processing titling paperwork. I asked if I could do this myself since I was paying cash and had to go to CT DMV for a different reason. A title transfer in CT is $25. Add some other DMV fees and it would amount to $75 give or take. I was told by Chris the car was not driveable off the lot without having this in place. I called NY DMV and and guess what they said this is NOT A STATE LAW. I called CT DMV and guess what they said Go to DMV for title transfer. I again went to the forums and and asked others who had bought their cars in NY who live in CT. Other people who purchased vehicles in NY were only charged CT fees other responses I received before closing the thread were less kind. So is it my loss? Sure, as Im sure the car will sell. I wouldn't be surprised if they got a better offer from Mr. DeRosa and were just looking for an excuse to back out. But there are plenty of fish in the ocean. Competition BMW KNOW YOUR PRODUCT. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BMW EXPERTS. Im the one figuring out how to fix your product sorry if doing your homework for you offended you. And secondly BE MORE TRANSPARENT with your customers who is not going to complain about an additional $500 fee the day before pick up? Of course theres going to be a lack of trust if what you say isnt fixable actually is, and if last minute fees are sprung onto your customers.

After much initial confusion on whether this particular M3 was actually for sale , Jonathon Bottomley and Russell Caccace handled a difficult situation with dignity and elegance. Although I did not end up purchasing actual vehicle as it was actually sold to another party I appreciated the effort by this dealership to smooth over some misinformation. Although I purchased 2 3 series from Manhattan BMW few years back I highly doubt they would have taken the time nor made the effort this dealership did .

Spoke with Jason last week to get a trade in value on my trade. He knew the history of my car and gave me a trade in over the phone to match other dealers. I travelled 45 minutes to the dealer today only to be told they can give me $2500 less for the trade than what he quoted over the phone. I don't appreciate wasting my time by a dealer that thinks they can be so misleading and insincere.

I confidently purchased a certified pre owned 2009 X5 in October of 2012. The truck had many problems which caused it to be serviced 8 times in the year that I had owned it. Six months into the purchase I realized that I could not rely on the vehicle so I asked the dealer to take the truck back and give me something I could rely on. The dealer offered me 25% less than what I paid to trade the truck in. Losing $10,000 in six months was appalling to me so I was then referred to Corporate. I was disappointed to find out that Corporate Customer Care was also horrendous. I ended up chasing my tail for weeks. Even at the Executive Corporate level, they couldn't explain why I was receiving terrible service and apologized that it occurred. Had this not been the case, I would still be a customer. The only one who is sorry now is me - that I put my faith in what i believed to be a reputable company - and wasted a lot of time and money. ALWAYS check Consumer Reports etc... before you purchase a used vehicle. Especially from BMW.

Ordering process was a breeze. I was in and out of the dealer fast. I went in knowing what I wanted. Doug did not pressure me into anything I didn't want or need. Helga (Finance Manager called me a few days before my pickup. She went over all the settings I wanted programmed in the car such as how the doors unlock, alarm chirping, pathway lights, etc. She was very friendly and never tried to push anything either. Pickup process- Picking up the car was also a breeze. Doug took me outside and spent a good 45 minutes to an hour showing me the details of the car. Car was in excellent condition. Doug was friendly and I never felt rushed. Signing the papers to get the car was just as easy. No pressure on me declining the additional packages and warranties unlike other dealers who spent 20 minutes after you decline. This dealer is so modern. I hardly had to fill out any paper work. Most stuff was electronically signed.I would highly recommend this dealer and Doug Monette

I highly recommend Dave Metz if you want a no-pressure sales experience and a fantastic test drive of a brand new car with someone who will really listen to what you want in a car. Dave is friendly and easy going and he spent a lot of time showing and explaining the car's features and letting me experience the BMW 328i xDrive Sedan which I wound up leasing days after the test drive. Dave not only made sure that the car was perfect and all the paperwork was in order on the day of pickup, but he again took the time to review all of the car's features and made sure that I was comfortable with using the car, and he set up all of the controls personalized to me including my telephone contacts, radio and GPS system. Thanks to Dave Metz, the whole process of test driving, leasing and driving off in a beautiful BMW, from start to finish, was hassle-free and simply a pleasure.

I had been searching for a convertible for almost a year, and had looked at many different makes/models trying to find what I liked. At the beginning of December 2011, I visited Competition BMW in Smithtown. When I arrived, several of the staff members were engaged in various activities, so I waited a bit until someone inquired to see if I needed help. When I said yes, I was soon introduced to Jason Phelps, a new car client advisor. I explained what I was looking for, and Jason asked appropriate questions to show me the vehicle that would provide the features I was looking for. After showing me the 128i that was on the showroom floor, we sat down to discuss a potential deal. Jason was very thorough and took the time to go over the features and benefits as well as some additional extras which I really liked. I left with a brochure, his business card and the info I needed to decide if this would be my next new vehicle.The following day, I received a call from the dealership to ensure that I had had a pleasant experience and to determine if there would be any reasons that would prevent me from becoming a future Competition BMW client. I assured them that I was still thinking things over, and would get back to them shortly.Ultimately, it came down to making the choice between a Volkswagen Eos and the BMW 128i. The deciding factors: Jason Phelps and the Competion Group. They followed up with me at the beginning of January, on the day I was test driving the Eos. When I got home from the test drive and returned Jason's call, he was able to put together a deal that beat VW by a significant amount. Additionally, the car that I wanted was in stock, so I was able to take delivery within the week.I have also stopped by recently to have my vehicle washed, and I was treated very well by the service department. It is apparent that providing clients with excellent treatment no matter where you are (sales, service, etc) is fully ingrained in the entire Competion BMW staff.I absolutely recommend Competion BMW and especially Jason Phelps.

My overall experience with BMW has always been good. I am on my fourth BMW from them and have never had a bad experience. I have found the salesman works the deal to get me the most competitive price. Bob in sales has always had everything ready to go when I pick up my car and he is very thorough in explaining the features in the car; and since I'm not very good at figuring out the radio he even tunes in my radio stations for me. The service department is always ready with my loaner car when I come in for scheduled maintenance and on some occassions they have come out and picked up my car right from my office and brought it back when it was finished. The loaner cars are always a BMW which I like, when I had my Audi the loaner car was never an Audi.Nice people at Competition BMW, always very friendly.

Purchased a part online for a BMW as a Christmas gift, and specified that I would pick it up at Competition BMW. There was a minor issue in the shipping of the part from BMW to the dealership. The parts department, particular one employee whose name I cannot remember, was more than helpful. He kept me updated almost every day about the status of the shipment, and actually was able to reorder the part on a different order and had it overnighted to ensure it would be here by Christmas. He really went out of his way to help me out. If I ever decide to purchase a BMW, I will certainly go to Competition BMW.

I have bought and leased several cars over the years. None have compared to Competition in sales and service. My experience includes Competition Toyota, BMW and Infiniti for vehichles for both my wife and I over the past 12 years. Never had a single significant bad experience. Normal annoyances/delays/hassels are to be expected when buying and servicing cars. I think I have realistic expectations and Competition has always exceeded these. We will continue to be loyal customers.

BEWARE this was a a NIGHTMARE!!!! The staff is mis managed too say the least! Three trips for the same issue, never fixed! THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SERVICE THE PRODUCTS THEY SELL. They do not know how to PROVIDE LOANERS TO THEIR CLIENTS! I made the mistake of calling BMW NA, that was the end for me! They took my car and told me that I had done something wrong? A $69,000 car? 20,000 miles brand new! This place is a nightmare! they tried to stick me with a $7,000.00 bill. In the end since the car was broke so long and the mileage was so low, I made out. I went and sold it to another BMW dealer after a $3500.00 repair for $5,000 more than my buyout. I sat with the car broken in my driveway for 8 months. This dealer is a discrace and they should be ashamed of how they treat their clients. I have owned, Infiniti 5, Mercedes 1, Nissan 3, and Dodge 2, I was never treated like this by any of them. Clueles management trickles down through that whole place. With so many dealerships on Long Island GO ELSEWHERE!!

I'm surprised at many of these reviews. This is my second BMW from competition after getting one from rallye then huntington and competition is much easier to deal with, both service and sales, specifically Jason.The sales process is nice and easy, low pressure and his price is similar to everyone else I shopped. One big plus is that there is no running back and forth to the boss.If you are getting a BMW definitely see Jason, he's a pleasure to deal with, very helpful after the sale, and his price is right.

I have been going there for years. I can point out MANY instances, where they tried to overcharge me (or give unreasonably high prices). The BEST evidence of this is the oil change price: Habberstad charges $90, Competition charges $140. How can that be acceptable? Thats just one of the very obvious cases .. there are many others. I really think they need to research and at the very least have prices that are competitive with the nearest dealership (Habberstad) -- when just that happens, I wouldn't complain (about the pricing, at least).Apart from the above very-big complaint, I don't have any other big negatives to point about them overall.

No warm and fuzzy feeling. Could not get them to give me a price over the phone. Really didn't want to deal. Sort of the take or leave it attitude. That's fine but other dealers realize that they must compete in this market. They get one shot to get your business. Remember competition is out there! You can buy a BMW anywhere in the USA.

Picked up my BMW X3 3.5i on Sat..LOVE IT! Although there was a slight delay with taking possession of the car due to a cracked windshield and difficulty of finding a replacement, Jason Phelps was most helpful & absolutely terrific during this entire process. From beginning to end, Jason was professional, courteous, and very personable. During my BMW X3 search, I had dealings with quite a number of BMW dealerships and my primary reason for purchasing my X3 at Competition BMW of Smithtown was because of Jason. The X3 speaks for itself and the sales process went smoothly thanks to Jason.

The dealership is fine, but the service department is terrible. I made the mistake of sending my wife for a regular service, and they conned her into a $300 repair which I notified to corporate BMW. The service department is unprofessional - they set me up for an appointment with a loaner and every time they've said they did not have me for a loaner. They never call back in a timely manner. I'm not going back.

In the past with my mother we bought 1 car, and leased 2, I now was going there with her. She was considering getting a car, and I was definitely looking to get a 328xi. I went over specifics, I wanted a montego blue colored one and was going to be getting a 2009. So they found me what I was looking for, and I put a deposit on the car. I get a phone call 2 days later saying that there was a problem, that they accidentally didn't re-look when i put the down payment on and that car had already been sold, but they would do right by me, they found me a car with more equipment, same color just a different interior, for almost the same price. They said they would be bringing in the car from a dealership in Pennsylvania, and woould give be a cheaper rate for the cost to bring it in. I put the deposit on that car. Well I than get another phone call a few days later, and to my shock they sold that car to someone else after I put a deposit on it. Completely unethical..but nothing I could do about it!

My experience at this dealership was absolutely horrible. Not only are the sales people rude and obnoxious, so is the sales manager. If I could leave ratings less than 1 I would. Definitely, definitely, would not recommend this dealership to anyone. You would think they would want to sell cars. Nope, they are the opposite. STAY AWAY FROM COMPETITION BMW in SMITHTOWN!!! You will not be happy with them. They need to replace theirs salespeople and sales manager!!!!

I have had my 750li for 2 1/2 yrs. The car has continually had problems. It has been in for service over & over. Competition claimed no problems existed for 1 1/2 yrs. Finally agreed to some & fixed them. Problems began again. They refuse to admit it. The Nav. system doesn't work, the car idles very rough, seat & map settings are lost frequently,the car lurches forward (even in park). I am treated as if I am imagining it all. The problems appear whether I drive or my husband. Last year the svc. mgr. said that the car had too many problems & it was time to get us out of the car. He left shortly after. No manager will even get on the phone to speak w/ us, many messages have been left. I no longer feel that this car is safe, they have it once again & I am driving an $80,000 Toyota loaner! I have never felt so frustrated.

I wish I could've gotten to the point to actually talk to someone so I could give a rating. Maybe everyone was just having a bad day on this day (3/15/08), but I would've thought that at least one of the three salesmen not tending to anyone would've approached me and my pregnant wife. As a current Audi owner, I was eager to switch to BMW. I'm sure they will but will definitely not come back nor recommend this place. I have since experienced a much better experience at Huntington and Manhattan BMW. I agree these cars sell themselves, but the 'professional' at Competition are pathetic.

I leased a 750Li in Jan. 2006. I dealt with one very professional salesman, upon delivery of the car I had to deal with a "new" salesman. Unfortunately he knew very little about the car & wasn't able to teach us much. This car needs a lot of instructions.The real problem is service. The car has idled rough since delivery. The electronics have also been a problem. The seat never keeps it's settings, the radio & nav. settings are also lost often. The car has been in numerous (dozens) times & they can't fix it. They kept insisting that there was nothing wrong with the car. A car in this class should not idle like a paint can mixer. It is exteremly frustrating to reset all settings on this car (there are many) on a daily basis. The dealer takes the car, keeps it for days & does nothing. Now after 1 1/2 years they admit to the problems, they have seen, felt them, but they do not show up on the computer, so they can not fix it. I have been told that a regional rep must come (he has been there before, very rude)I am waiting weeks. No date is set. No one will take my calls or return them. A few months back the svc. mgr, stated that the problems were getting out of hand & they would get me out of the car if it continued. Now that mgr. is gone & no one will speak to me. I am stuck driving a very expensive defective car & Competition BMW does not care or is not willing to make any attempts to correct the situation.

This was the 3rd BMW that I purchased and so far this has been by far the best experience of any purchase yet.
