I'm a bit indecisive and visited the dealership a couple times before deciding to purchase. Each time he answered my questions without taking any personal information which is a plus in my book. This is an edit to my previous review concerning my Dad's Honda. After much thought I decided to write a review on my own experience. Overall I have been highly satisfied with the entire team. Rich Craven is great to work with and it is obvious that Steven Courtney Jr. really cares about his customers and his employees and dealership. I consider these folks an extension of family. They are terrific and I have decided despite of another family situation involving the dealership, I will remain a loyal and respectful client. what other owner would call and follow up while vacationing? Impressive Steven.

Let me begin... As ive stated before the salesman vic was great, no pressure, honest and made the purchase easy. But, shortly after begin to have mechanical issues. Performance was bogged down from time to time very badly and gas mileage much lower then advertised. Rattles started from the dashboard to put it all shortly it didn't feel like a new car at all ! Made apt. Had to wait over a week because the service advisor craig was on vacation. Was told nothing they could do if they found a problem therefor wait to bring it in. Fuel pump module was replaced and the rattle attempts were unsuccessful after over 6 hours of missing work n sitting there. End of the day comes an was told to make another apt. The performance issues later returned and by time oil change was due i had fixed the rattle myself. I still tried to work with them as much as i could. After several more apts. For misc. Rattles, a heavy vibration and a bad jerking/judder to keep it quick i was basically told they were normal every time and sent on my way. As of 26th of Feb the vibration all over the car sometimes worse then others had gotten bad, constant rattle deep inside dashboard and heavy jerking were all told to service adv. Who was test driving with me. Was again told it was normal, and even though rattle was acknowledged was told they wouldn't keep car or provide rental. To make another Apt. Lol.. called corporate honda and started case file shortly after. Luckily i have recorded as many of the problems on video as i was able to and as much detail from service Apt's as i could. PLEASE! Look at your service tickets before you leave and make sure you get one EVERY time people. Double check that the problems you went there for are stated clearly because you might need them. Had high hopes after such good experience while buying the car with my Gf. Things went downhill quick after dealing with service dept. We love the car and just want it the way it was when it was bought, not even 3 months ago lol. O yea the service advisor led me to believe his name was Russell for 3 apts. Until I overheard someone in the shop call him crai*g. Real nice... *** As of feb,29,2016 have video of engine moving back and forth and then slamming down as switched from park to drive to reverse. Called service dept. and told them this, that i had recorded it and thought the car was dangerous and was told no rental for the small vibration I'm feeling, and that they'll let me know when they figure out what they want to do. We feel unsafe in this car... who knows from here. My Gf is wrecked and beyond upset. Now we feel like were stuck with no help and having to fight uphill just to get the car back to normal. They are also VERY abusive to the cars they drive at least was the case with me. One time even going from reverse to drive without hitting brake and stopping first. What a nightmare, hope this gets better at some point.

My car buying experience at Courtney Honda was nothing short of extraordinary. Jay Vining didn't pressure me for a sale - he patiently walked me through all the features and answered my questions , took me for a test drive to demo the features , and then put me behibd the wheel. Jay then did something even more amazing. He encouraged me to also test drive the other cars on my list. Needlesa to say neither the cars nor the salea experience came close to measuring up.When I came back the next day with my family, Jay was with a customer. .. so he had Steve Courtney run through the features again, while he was busy. Then, he took my deposit and within days, located the exact version I was looking for. I was able to pick up the car within a week, wven though I had splash guards installed. When I came to pick up the car, we walked through all the technology setup. Jay encouraged me to come back if I had any questions, and introduced me to the service department. I really have never had anything close to this positive exoerience when buying a car - I highly recommend Courtney Honda.

Jay Vining was beyond amazing handling the sale of my new odyssey!!! This was the second time in 3 years purchasing from Courtney Honda!!! My husband and I wanted black and it is very difficult to find in an odyssey and he moved heaven and earth to find us one. My husband and I are extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and customer service he provided. We have 3 other Honda dealerships near our home and we went back to Courtney Honda because of the high level of customer service they provide. The ones near our home have your typical not very nice salespeople that are just not pleasant at all!!! Courtney Honda is 40+ miles from our home and we will continue to go back and purchase our vehicles from them. We also had an unbelievable experience with Marc Miller who handles the finance end of things and he also went the extra mile for us getting us the best rate and monthly payment. Don't buy any used cars from this dealership. Figured I'd be safe by going with a dealership. The car didn't start when taking it off the lot, 2 doors didn't open, the back of the driver seat fell off. That was the first 4 days. I was told I needed to wait 90 days before anything could be done, It had 37 k miles thought it would be reliable..., I thought wrong. Wanted to trade it in, book value it only lost $400 but they took $3000 off the value that I just paid 3 months prior. Basically forced to purchase a new car from them cause the trade in value would be even lower another dealer. I paid for my new car plus and extra $3,000 because they wouldn't work with me. There could have been upgrades, lower % rate. Even $1000 down But they did nothing to resolve the problem. Just screwed me out of $3000.

Rich Craven and Steve Altieri both distinguish themselves as the "BEST" in the business for their patience and help in locating and delivering the right car to my 83 yr old father who has been driving a family hand me down 91 Honda Accord for the past 10 years. Rich came across this jewel in a trade in and knowing that I was searching for an older Accord, an easier transition for my Dad, immediately contacted me. I was honestly so impressed that he not only listened to what I was looking for but called me when the opportunity presented itself. Rich was very patient as the entire family checked out the car and presented their questions and opinions. Since we are Italian, this is no easy task....Steve was present the night we came to pick up the car and he was kind and responsive to special requests of keys and Honda key chains. He even took a symbolic Mom and Dad photo as we were entering the car. I can honestly say that Courtney Honda definitely sets itself apart from all other dealerships for having such wonderful team members like Rich and Steve. Congratulations Mr. Courtney and Team!!!!

After shopping around at other car dealerships in the area, I was extremely pleased at the treatment I received here. Mark, one of the best salespersons I have met, took care of me and gave me a thorough test drive, explaining the features of the car as I drove it which really helped solidify my decision buying the Honda Civic EX model. Mark was able to give me a great deal on the price of the brand new vehicle. Then, Milton, one of the Finance guys, continued to exhibit exceptional customer service. I was able to put down quite a bit of money on the car and he helped me finance the rest. He also thoroughly explained all the warranties and add-ons and helped me decide to get the extended lifetime warranty on the entire car for mechanical issues and get the special tire warranty. Five star team. In November I experienced a flat tire and the issue was resolved right then and there. This past Tuesday when I got another flat tire, there was some miscommunication about my warranty and I had to go somewhere else for my tire. Next day, the same exact tire I had just replaced with a new one was flat again!! I came back to the dealership / sales area to reaffirm that I had purchased the tire warranty and the finance manager Mark was extremely helpful. He partnered with the service area and they were able to fix my flat tire problem. I received such good customer service today, that it really made an impact. I'm so happy I purchased my car and the extra warranties from Courtney Honda, and I can't stress enough that not only did I have a great purchasing process for the car the moment I walked in but they really showed they care more about just the sale by helping me with my mechanical issues as well. I have to bring my grandfather to his doctors appointment tomorrow morning and Courtney Honda helped me get my issue resolved in the same day. Would highly recommend!!!! And I also love love love my new Honda Civic EX !!

I went into the dealership on a Saturday already knowing what features I wanted and I was not going to settle for anything less. At first Jay Vining thought I was insane because of my requests but then he managed to find a car with everything I wanted and more. Jay was both friendly and professional. He showed hospitality and made me feel welcomed. I test drove the car that Saturday and picked it up Tuesday. Unlike many sales men Jay was not pushy and that is part of the reason why I decided to finance my car at Courtney Honda. Once I decided I was going to get the car I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Milton Jones. Milton was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He treated me like I was one of his own daughters. He had even arranged for one of the sales men to pick me up on Tuesday so that I could head straight to work from the dealership. Since this experience was new to me, this being my first car and all, Milton made sure I understood and felt comfortable with the paperwork, terms and conditions. Milton's consideration for my needs and wants reassured me that I was making the best decision. And to close out my experience the mechanics put a few finishing touches on my car to ensure my safety by providing quality service. Every time I called either gentleman they answered and if they missed my call they made sure to call me back. Even Joe the mechanic was available when I needed him. No one ever gave me the run around nor were they ever unavailable. My experience at Courtney Honda was by far the best experience I've had throughout my car search. If you are in the market for a new car, first thing you should decide on is buying a Honda....their insight (no pun intended) in designing a car is clearly second to none. I purchased a 2014 Pilot and I couldn't be happier. Every detail, down to the "blind spot" window defogger on the passenger side window only (think about it - why would you need it on the other window) is well thought out.With that being said, and since this is a dealer review, the second thing you should decide on is your Honda dealership. If you live in CT, then the correct choice is Courtney Honda in Milford. Every person I dealt with was professional, sincere and extremely proud of their product and their dealership.And now the third and final thing you should do when entering Courtney Honda is request Linda Thanassi. She is pleasant, always happy to see you, knows her product and has great follow up skills without being pushy about it. Linda was a pleasure to work with and 3 weeks after my purchase I am still in contact with her thanking her for the extras she delivered in making my buying experience great. They help me get a very awesome car of my choice. They made sure that the car i selected was comfortable for me and it was, and they explained all the cars features u from front to back.They even introduced me to their service advisor joe riccio so if i had any problems or in need of car maintenance he's the man. When all said and done i left with a 2010 honda accord and just when i thought i was walking out they called me and said here are four tickets to a sound tigers game. Recommended number one dealer for me it was a great experience. A+++++

I'm excited to write this review. I went to the dealership worried to death. All my other car buying experiences were horrible at Ford and Hyundai. High pressure, no information, or worse ... misleading information. Happy to report ... that is NOT the case AT COURTNEY HONDA!!! The salesman, Ron, was both professional and courteous. He was knowledgeable and took the time to go the extra mile. I left there with a new Civic ... and I'm just thrilled. When I went to pick it up Ron took me to the car, explained all of the features, offered to help set up and sync my iphone and went bumper to bumper with everything I needed to know. He's first class all the way.The financial people are wonderful as well. No hidden fees, no bull. What you see is what you get. He had everything prepared when I met to sign the papers, explained everything thoroughly and I did not feel pressured at all. The best car buying experience I have ever had. Ron even called the next day to see how things were going ... and to find out if we had any questions. We are glad we stopped here first. Their professionalism sealed the deal along with a great product!Every staff member was friendly and genuinely happy to see you there. No bad vibes ... just happy people, looking to make you happy too.Don't go elsewhere ... go Courtney Honda! You won't be disappointed.

I had searched on yout website and a few days later I heard from Mr. Anthony Feliciano. He was cordial and professional. I would recommend him highly, I already have and as well Courtney Honda. I was impressed with the staff and also with Milton Jones,Financial Manager. He made me feel comfortable and was a passive gentleman. What I loved about Mr. Feliciano was,the fact, that he wasn't overbearing and pushy like some sales persons can be. I told him what I was shopping for and by the time I got there, he had information for me about your CRV's and what I was searching for. Everyone was cordial, friendly and professional, from the moment you walk into the building. Ron, was another wonderful and gentle man, as well, Bob (do not kow their last names). The staff in the service department were also very friendly and pleasant. Mr. Steve Courtney was very pleasant. I am glad to have had the pleasure of meeting him. Overall, I recommend Courtney Honda, the employees and especially Anthony Feliciano and Mr. Jones, who helped me through the process. I thank them for their kindness. Thank you for this opportunity.

I'd like to send a shout out to Mark Lavin and his colleagues in the Courtney Honda Service department. We stopped by without an appointment, traveling from Maryland to Boston, when the cover for our Accord catalytic converter started dragging. Mark and his team had the cover off, and us back on the road, in less than 20 minutes - and at no charge. We're headed to our Weymouth MA dealership tomorrow for a new cover. We so appreciate the Courtney Honda team's prompt, professional, friendly service - even to one-time customers.

This was the most low pressure, no nonsense car purchase I've ever had. I kept waiting for the "gotcha" but it never happened. Their 30 second credit application provided me a very attractive rate with no surprises. This large well known dealership had a huge in stock selection. Stephen is knowledgeable and accommodating and returned our calls promptly. The purchase went so quickly that I felt obligated to take a few minutes to post my gratitude. Thank you Courtney Honda.

WE WERE LOOKING FOR A QUALITY USED HONDA TO REPLACE OURS AFTER IT WAS TOTALLED IN AN ACCIDENT. I FOUND THE PERFECT CAR ON COURTNEY'S WEBSITE AND WAS PLEASED TO FIND THAT IT WAS AS GOOD AS WE WERE TOLD IT WAS DURING OUR INITIAL PHONE CONVERSATION WITH JAY. NEGOTIATING WAS EASY AND PLEASANT. THE CAR WAS DELIVERED TO US IN SPIT AND POLISHED SHAPE EVEN THOUGH IT IS AN OLDER MODEL. OUR SALESMAN, JAY, PERSONALLY TOOK US TO A LOCAL BRANCH OF OUR BANK (WE LIVE A DISTANCE AWAY) TO FACILITATE OUR BEING ABLE TO FINALIZE OUR PURCHASE THAT DAY THUS AVOIDING ANOTHER TWO HOUR ROUND TRIP. I came in looking for a car after visiting their competitors. I was received warmly! I explained that I was not purchasing today and that I would make my decision after looking at 2 other vehicles. Amira extended herself and made sure that I was being treated as if I were purchasing the car that day. As a person formerly in retail I was impressed. I came back several days later and Amira was not there and I spoke with an associate of her's Jay and he said that he would take care of me as if he was she. I wanted to compare 2 color choices and he parked them side by side which made the choice easier. The negotiations were relatively pain free after doing our dance. I told them what I wanted and they met my request as much as they could and I was extremely satisfied and drove home with a spanking new car that day. Happy to become a member of the Courtney Family. This is the third Honda we have purchased and the second from this dealership. We would certainly recommend Courtney Honda to anyone interested in purchasing a Honda. At this visit, we were turning in a Honda Accord that we had leased and leasing a new car, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our salesperson, Anthony Verdi, was extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to and did not make you feel as if you were dealing with the stereotypical "car salesman" that everyone cringes to deal with. He was helpful, courteous and made the transaction as easy and seamless as possible. We felt comfortable that he was working in our best interests, explaining all of our options before we made a final decision. The financing was handled professionally and expediently. I would highly recommend Courtney Honda and will definitely go back there in the future.

Rich exceeded our expectations. This buying experience was the most hassle free one we've ever had. Rich delivered the car that we wanted at the price and terms that we wanted. He handled every single aspect of the sale of my old vehicle and the purchase of the new. I bought this Jeep - I was told it had absolutely no problems with it. While driving home, the temperate gauge was spiking. I brought it back in, they claimed it was a loose hose, and they "fixed" it. Then it was "fine" for awhile. Now I realize that all they did was add coolant (or water) to the vehicle.. because when the temperate gauge spiked again a month later, they claimed that they have no record of what they did to fix it. Turns out, the vehicle needed a new heater coil ($1,100). Thanks for nothing.

I have taken my car back to Courtny every 3,000 miles for car e since I bought it in 2007. They are very good to the customer and do not take advantage of people, the service techs are great and I had my daughter buy her used car from this dealership. Re:2006 Honda Odyssey (purchased new at Courtney) Starter / Relay / Solenoid problemSymptoms:Intermittent starting problem. Occasionally, when I turn the ignition switch, I only get a single click, the starter does not engage, and the car will not start. This issue will continue for one or more days. Then, all of a sudden, the starter starts fine.Some other times, when I turn the ignition switch, I get repeating clicks and the starter does not engage. I release the ignition switch. Try it again and the starter works fine.Not sure if this is a starter problem, a relay problem or a solenoid issue. Would like the problem identified and corrected. Would hate to pay for a starter replacement to find that was not the issue and Im sure it is not multiple components at issue.Resolution: - Service took the time to acurately diagnose the problem first and not use just a "parts changer" mindset (where you just keep replacing parts until you "Solve" the problem). Left the van with Honda and Bob (and the mechanic) patiently checked it multple times per day (for an entire week) until we could confidently id the problem component.

Service area is clean and neat. What you first notice when you walk through the door is the quiet. Everyone is about their job quietly, listening to the service manager behind the desk. Parts dept. was equally as efficient. The waiting area was pleasant. Service was quick and professional. Service manager came to me when the car was done and politely answered my questions about the car and then took me to the cashier: 1, 2, 3- done.

I've visited this dealership for service over eight times since I moved to CT. Each time, they have been courteous, honest, and forthright with the work that needed to be completed on my car. They've let me make my own decisions as to what I wanted to have repaired each visit. In my perspective, there's not much more to ask from a service station. I would reccomend this dealrship to anyone needing repairs on Hondas or Acuras. I'm certain more people than myself would say the same. Keep up the good work guys.~ John Martin

My name is Bob. Last Tuesday night May 21st I was looking for a used Honda on line. I saw six cars I wanted to see and check out by 4 different dealers in and around New Haven. Two were Honda dealers. I wrote to all of them on tues night saying I was interested in one of they cars. The next morning Courtney s Mr. Howard Eber answered my email. The other three dealers answered 48 hours later. I had time Wednesday morning so I stopped by Courtney Honda to see, in person, the cars I saw in the Internet ad.Howard introduced me to Mr. Jay Vining person in charge of Internet sales. I was not ready to buy a car that day. I told Jay what amount I had in my budget and what interest rate I wanted on the loan. I ended up buying a car that day. I didnt feel pressured, nervous or pushed to make a decision. Mr Jay Vinning is very professional.Mr. Mark Miller handles the money side of the sale. He set me up with a loan from Bank of America when I saw that I told him I didnt want to do business with them because of the rules and regulations they had against the Veterans and Members of the U.S. Armed Forces.Mark went out of his way and found Chase Bank to take my loan at the same rate.When I went to my bank the next day to get a Tellers check for the down payment. My favorite teller told me her family been buying Hondas from Coutney Honda for a very long time. She says she would recommend them . Howard, Jay and Mark left me with the impression that they work as a well manage team, and they enjoy it!I have always been a Honda man, but now I am a Courtney Honda Man.One thing I regret I didnt have time to see Howard . I talked to Howard when I came to pick up the car. He asked me to see him on my way out, Jay reminded me but I had a appointment to keep which was already running late. I have purchased many Honda's and always from one dealership. It was a huge step for me to leave that dealership and move my business to Courtney Honda of Milford. Jay Vining treated me as if I had been a long time customer of Courtney instead of a first time customer. I was not sure what to expect when I first contacted internet sales, but right from the start they where responsive and fair. For my experience there wasn't any gamesmanship on their part it was clear and direct. It was what I was expecting from the dealership I purchased all my Honda's from but apparently they where more interested in getting the best deal for them than keeping me as a customer. Courtney is still family owned and works hard for the business. I appreciated the customer service and feel of Courtney I wasn't just another "number" on the tote board. I was blown away by the ease of the transaction. There weren't any unexpected surprises at the closing of the deal. I look forward to purchasing my next car from Courtney in about 5 years.

My family has been going to Courtney Honda for years and we had yet another great experience. Anthony was perfect. He was very patient with us and all of our questions. We never felt rushed or pressured and we felt like he had plenty of time for us. As usual, negotiating is a part of buying a new car...the part nobody enjoys! Anthony realized that our toddler was getting restless and did his best to get us a fair deal while getting things moving as fast as possible. He is a great asset to Courtney Honda and we were happy to work with him. We hope to work with him again when our lease is up in three years!

I have bought 2 used Honda Civics at Courtney Honda. Mark McGorry was our salesman both times. He is very knowledgeable and patient. Mark even offered to teach us how to drive a manual trans! Both cars were a perfect match to the buyers' needs.When my hybrid needed a new IMA battery, Bob Watt and Craig Jennings made sure that the service was covered under a newly-extended warranty. They took the initiative to look up the particulars of the warranty in their computer and saved me the cost of the repair and any undue paperwork that might have occurred without their assistance.Bob is always willing to answer questions and explain things relating to maintenance and service for our cars.When I needed to clear a maintenance minder light, Mark Lavin was willing to come out to show me how to do the procedure. Whether it's a simple question or a more complex matter, the people at Courtney have been very helpful with sales and service of our Hondas.

Mr. Jennings was so kind. I was on an errand when my car wouldn't start. I called the dealership and he came right out and jumped it for me. I drove to the dealership where they found out the battery needed replacing. I was out in a short amount of time. I would recommend Courtney Honda service again.

Called on a Thursday, spoke to Chris in Service. Very polite and knowledgeable. Dropped car off on the weekend to me diagnosed on that following Monday. Got a call explaining the process and testing as well as the pricing. These guys were very honest and helpful and the pricing was unbelievably fair and outstanding service. The experience was excellent. I got the appointment day needed as the vehicle is in daily use. This was this car's 1st service. Service was performed and completed that morning which relieves any stress by not having the vehicle. Upon picking up the vehicle the service rep advised us that there was a recall on the steering wheel air bag. We are now scheduling for that service to be performed. Overall our experience with Courtney Honda has been excellent.

Bob has always treated me with respect and always goes out of his way to make my service experience GREAT....this time I needed a document faxed ASAP, Bob made it happen, and thats having an excellent experience. He initially finds out what kind of service is needed and explains each component so I understand the reasoning for the service - explains what has been done and why - explains the Honda Multi Point Inspection Checklist in its entirety. Has a fantastic personality combined with his technical knowledge. Courtney Honda in my books is the only dealership to purchase a vehicle. I always speak highly to other people about them.

Last week I had a check engine light come on while driving home from work. I used my navigation to find the closest Honda dealer because I am still under dealer warranty. Unfortunately I arrived at the dealership at 5:15 p.m. and the service technicians had gone home. An employee was still there and I told him I was afraid to drive with the warning light on and asked if I should leave it there until the next day when they open? He said he would check the car's computer and let me know if it was something that could be driven until they open. He went and got a portable device and checked it and told me it was an oxygen sensor code and I could drive it home and return at a more convenient time the next day. I was thrilled I didn't have to arrange for a ride home and could safely leave. He didn't have a name tag so I asked his name. He said it was Craig or possibly Greg(?) and he was the service manager. I told him I was surprised a manager knew something kind of technical and learned he was a technician there for over 20 years until his back gave out. I dropped the car back off the next day and it was fixed that same day. I was really impressed that they didnt close the door in my face at quitting time and really cared about my emergency situation..which turned out to be not such an emergency! Thanks guys!

I put up a review years ago because of an almost 10 year long problem with the old service manager.I decided to give Courtney another chance after I heard the Service Dept. was under new management.Craig Jennings went out of his way to troubleshoot and track down the problem I was having. I was going to Courtney Honda for ten years. My check engine light came on in my civic after three visits they could not fix the problem though each visit cost me 200. Plus dollars. So their motto we fix it right the first time is bull. I was shopping for my next Honda a pilot touring was what I wanted. I brought my car in for the fourth time this time the service guys were making it sound like it was my fault they couldn't fix the problem. They said because I was waiting the were rushing to get me out of there. To which I responded don't rush I will have a family member pick me up or give me a loaner while you fix my car. Their response.....we don't give loaners for that. They once again could not fix my car. I left and never looked back. Just an FYI. To the manager of Courtney Honda .... I did buy a Honda Pilot Touring but not at your place. You lost the sale and you lost a 10 year customer becaue of the way your service team treated me. You might want to rethink how you treat your customers. Unless you have so many you can afford to treat a customer of 10 years so badly.

I recently bought a CRV from Courtney Honda I found the people there to be very friendly and helpful. They gave me a great price on my trade in and my new car. I financed my car and dealing with Rob Martin in the finance department was a pleasure. Rob was informative and every step of the process was explained thoroughly. My salesperson Ralph Zukowski was pleasant and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make me feel at ease and was patient with all of my questions and concerns. When I was picking up my new car, Ralph took the time to explain the many features and functions and made sure I felt comfortable with my new car before I left the dealership. Ralph continued to follow up with my purchase after I had a few days to drive it. My overall experience was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend buying a car from Ralph and the staff at Courtney Honda.

Our car buying experience at Courtney Honda was absolutely smooth and professional. We did find similar certified models at some other places up to $1,000 less price. However, the overall experience in those shops was far from convincing. At Courtney, we had the feeling that the dealership has taken effort when putting the 'certified' tag on the car. Ralph was very helpful, up front and deployed no gimmics. No haggling policy was advised to us soon enough. I will certainly recommend this dealership to anyone who has had scary experience of over-commitment, under-delivery and sales push.
