Crown Toyota is a great place to buy a vehicle. The selection of used cars was exceptional. All the staff I met were very helpful and nice. I initially came in after noticing a Toyota Camry online. David Wilson had everything ready to go for first car but also took time to show me all the cars that might interest me and was very knowledgeable. David made me feel comfortable during the whole process and I left feeling like I had made a great decision. I visited Crown to look at a pre-owned vehicle I had found online. After doing alot of research I had decided that this was likely the vehicle I wanted. But since I live over an hour away from the dealership I called first to ask a few questions. I spoke with salesmen David Wilson who was very helpful. He answered all of my questions and gave me his cell number to call when I was on my way so that he could meet me in person. My first impression was that the facilities were very nice. They had a lounge area including a kids table for children to play. I had left my children with a sitter, but in retrospect I really think I could have brought them along and they would have been fine. After a test drive we decided that we wanted to make a deal. It only took about 10-15 minutes to get an estimate on my trade-in. Although it wasn't as much as I wanted, the process itself was quick and painless. The only pain point in the entire process was how long it took for the business office to get my paperwork and lender information approved. I had already been pre-approved and it took about 45 minutes to get everything done. Although, when it was all done, they were able to save me a half point in APR through another lender than who I had been pre-approved through. The salesmen stayed late to help us move our personal effects and plates from our trade in to our newly purchased vehicle. All in all, we were at the dealership for about 3.5 hours which is longer than I anticipated considering much of it was spent waiting, but I feel that everyone was very helpful, informative, and polite. David was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him to others. He was helping 2-3 other customer throughout the course of our visit, but I never felt that we were ignored.

We were in the market for a smaller truck, of which Crown had our choice. Our over all buying experience with Crown was made much easier and pleasent with the very capable and courtious help of our salesman Joe Higdon. Joe was by far one of the very best salespersons I have encountered in my years of buying vehicles and would personally recommend his services to anyone. The actual buying experience was typical and somewhat lengthy but favorable.

David Wilson at Crown Toyota in Lawrence kept contact with me by phone and text during our search for a 2015 Toyota XLE van. He let me know they were willing to work on the price. He was honest about the vehicle having been a rental. He did not try to sway us toward a 2016. My husband was impressed that when we had completed the negotiations the van had 37 miles remaining on the gas gauge and when we drove away it had a full tank. I appreciated that everyone there was polite and friendly, and not pushy. Our salesman made sure to go through the various features of he van more than once. We will definitely give Crown Toyota a call when we are ready to buy our next van. It was definitely worth the drive from Newton, KS.

This was my best car buying experience ever. Salesman Tristan was excellent. Assessed my needs and interests. He showed me cars he thought would be appropriate. He answered all my questions and gave me information about each vehicle. He told me about the development of some of the newer models and their safety and technology features. I found several more cars I wanted to try and we drove them all. When I went to pick up my car the process was flawless. He spent an hour going over more features and getting me safely on the road. This was a low pressure, informative, customer service oriented experience.

I'd highly recommend purchasing a car from Tristan at Crown Toyota. Having purchased several Toyotas over the years, Tristan went above and beyond to make this purchase convenient. He listened to what I wanted in a used car and did not try to up sell. He found several vehicles that met my criteria and then assisted with narrowing them down to the perfect car to suit our needs. He pointed out safety features and pros and cons of the different vehicles. Once the vehicle was selected, he had all the paperwork ready when I arrived at the dealership which eliminated unnecessary wait time and got me in and out in a matter of minutes. He made the experience even more convenient by having a few remaining final touches delivered to me at work. Who could ask for anything more?

The dealer was accommodating in showing me the car I drove an hour to see, although it had not been repaired or cleaned. I drove two used cars that had tire balance problems. They were willing to expedite repairs. This dealer was too far from home for me to revisit to check repairs, when there are a lot of cars and dealers around. It would have been better if they had communicated by email that the car was not yet ready.

Jacob Lorenzo (Jake) was great to work with. He answered my questions by phone then was ready with the car once I arrived at dealership. Most time is awkward taking a test drive with the salesperson in the backseat, but Jake made me feel comfortable driving around in a town I didn't know. They performed an all points inspection and fixed almost $1000 worth of minor issues as part of the pre-agreed sales price, no extra charge. The sales and service staff was courteous and professional. Our sales person, David Wilson, was very responsive and helpful. The finance person spent extra time explaining in detail how all the financing worked to our daughter. Overall, this was a very positive experience.

Our sales associate David Wilson was very courteous and helpful. He walked through the differences between the Honda Accord Sport and the Toyota Camry and answered all of our questions. We came back the next day and worked to negotiate on the pricing for the Camry. We had a set price in mind and David was willing to go the extra mile to get us the deal we were looking for. The business manager "Bruce" was also very patient and helpful. He was even willing to wait to make sure the color of the car was exactly what we wanted before finishing all the paperwork. We were on a time crunch and the back shop was able to install the enviroguard and get the car ready for us to take before the end of the day. David also walked through all the accessories and how to use them before we left. Extremely helpful staff and a fantastic place to buy a car!!

Dave was great. We went there to buy a Chevy Tahoe and I ended up trading my Nissan Murano in for a Toyota Camry. It has been 9 months and we still love both cars! They sent us the check in the mail with the hours of our local vehicle inspection office. I have never had a dealership do that before. Our sales person TC Franklin was very helpful and honest in selecting an affordable, reliable, pre-owned 2011 Prius. Working with TC was very pleasant and enjoyable. He is truly into what he does, and he likes his interaction with his customers. He is very genuine and is not at all pressuring you to buy a car. He went far out of his way to take care of the details, including setting up the blue tooth setting on my cell phone in the Prius. I can't say I have ever experienced such a wonderful personality in a car sales person. He out-does my brother-in-law, Skip by far..... We Love the Prius. I love Toyota. I still have my 96 Camry. It still runs great, gets good mileage and has over 313,000 miles. I look forward to the same experience with the Prius.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid we bought from Crown in 2008 was recently totaled in an accident. Based on our experience then, we decided to go back to Crown to get our next Camry Hybrid. David Wilson was the salesperson who handled our purchase and we were more than pleased at how calm and knowledgeable he was. There was no pressure and he answered all our questions completely to our satisfaction. Let me just start off by saying that I have been on the hunt for a Toyota 4 Runner for a WHILE and wasn't getting anywhere with local dealerships. We had dealt with MANY different dealerships and even more salespersons. From the get-go, Kent Lee was a breath of fresh air compared to the others. Just had the 30 day check up on my new Jetta. What a grand experience! We had not purchased a car in over 13 yrs as I liken car shopping to root canals. But...I was wrong this time. Met Jake Lorenzo and could not have had a better experience. There was none of the back and forth ridiculous bartering. We stated what we felt comfortable with price wise and what we wanted on the car and Jake and Crown VW delivered. Everything was professional, fast, and dare I say, even fun. The "Crown Difference" is receiving a response back on a Sunday when the dealership is closed from a sales person (David Wilson) the next day after sending in a request for purchasing a used 2013 Toyota Prius 5 on a Saturday. The "Crown Difference" is being told from a sales person (David Wilson) that the used vehicle that I wanted was sold already but that they could put my wife & I actually into a new Toyota Prius 5 at basically the same price if we were still interested. David would need to speak with his manager on Monday and give me a call back on Monday. The "Crown Difference" is when a sales person (David Wilson) calls on Monday (like he said he would) to inform us that his manager said we could purchase a 2014 Prius 5 loaded at $624.00 over the price of a used 2013 and the price was already reduced $4,000 below MSRP. We drove 2 hours from King City (MO) to Lawrence (KS). The "Crown Difference" is when you are at their Lawrence, KS dealership, test drive the Prius that you are interested in, and still negotiate the price down an additional $750 with zero interest. My wife & I just "Experienced the Crown Difference" and bought that Prius 5.

My 10 year old Prius was sideswiped and declared a total loss by the insurance company even though it had been completely dependable and was running perfectly even with the passenger doors hanging awry. I went to my Crown Service Advisor, Tony Hunt and asked for a low pressure salesman since I was already sold on another Prius. He introduced me to David Wilson who, as promised, just gave me the facts and worked with me on my choices without crowding me. The day after I picked up the car I was having problems with getting my cellphone hooked up to the variety of sites that were promised. I drove back to Crown and since David was off that day another salesman, Kent Lee, sat with me in the car and worked with me on the initial setup. The problem had been my cellphone, not the Prius. Crown Toyota has dealt with me fairly, in both purchase and service areas for almost 8 years and I appreciate the entire team!

Like "your car is not worth that much but we'll take just so your not angry, Please. I buy cars every two years and drive all over to get them, this rarely happens. This is my second purchase from a Crown dealership, but my first Volkswagen purchase. Justin Hulshof had no problems answering my questions and suggesting cars based off of my feedback. The end result is a perfect car for me and a fantastic experience at this dealership. They explained all of the technology and explained differences between models of the same car so I knew which one would work best for me. Justin and Jacob Sacks worked hard to make a deal that worked for me financially, and Dave Gero provided a no pressure finance experience that was enjoyable instead of terrifying (which is rare). After a fair amount of research, we decided to buy a pre-owned Toyota Highlander. We found a great 2009 online priced very competitively. I called ahead and talked to David Wilson. He answered all our questions and was very helpful. I wasn't sure I wanted to make the 50 minute drive, but the price made it worthwhile. I was impressed by the size, quality and professionalism of Crown. I didn't expect that from a smaller town. They carry lots of cars and price them competitively. David was willing to negotiate some on the price and got the vehicle in great shape for delivery. They added new tires, brake pads, filters, buffed out the car and completely detailed it. 5 star services from Crown VW despite some twists and turns! Here is the detail: I was in the market for a 2013 VW Golf GTI. Crown VW was doing a promotion and gave me a very good deal. I worked with Josh Sinnard on this transaction. Josh provided top notch services from initial contact to test drive to price negotiation to closing the deal. Here is the twist. When I was ready to drive the new car home, an error message pop-up on the screen - a very rare occurrence for a new car. Josh and Jake (Josh's manager) offered a loaner car to me while their service professionals performed the diagnosis to resolve the error message. Under the guidance from VW engineers (those with wings and rainbows - get it?), they swapped out a few suspected defect parts and performed many test runs. Unfortunately, the error message persisted. This was really not dealer's issue but VW's issue. To save me from waiting further, Josh and Jake obtained approval from VW to exchange to a new GTI, which made me a very happy camper (or should I say happy driver, since I got the Driver's Edition? 'Wink'...'Wink'). Because I was busy at work, they even went to DMV to register my first GTI in order to help me complete the car swap transaction. Josh brought the new GTI all the way from Lawrence to Overland Park to me to swap out the loaner car. Throughout the process, Josh kept me informed on the status and made sure I was comfortable with their approach. It could have been a complete different experience with a different dealership but Josh and Jake made it a great experience! I was respected as a customer throughout and they stood by their promise and commitment! This rare incident revealed how truly customer focus they were and the high standard they set for themselves. I highly recommend Josh, Jake and Crown VW if you are in the market for a VW!

One word describes my general feeling when entering a dealership, "LEARY." I know why I am on the lot and so does everyone else but I have often felt treated as a repository of wealth and ignorance with much salesmanship mumbo-jumbo in the process. HOWEVER, I must say that my visit to Crown Toyota and working with Justin Hulshof, especially, and Steven Moore never left a hint of any such feelings. In fact, I agree with the posts I have read that speak of the outstanding sense of ease, respect and absence of pressure in the buying process. My daughter and I had embarked on a Saturday car browsing expedition and Crown was on our list of excursions. Justin welcomed us at the door and put us at ease from the beginning; his rapport with us was never forced or false; he was GENUINE! In fact, when my daughter and I took a lunch break to consider her options for a possible purchase on that day, she commented, "He's not your normal salesman" . . . and he is not. Though his work is his livelihood, Justin portrayed more interest in caring for us than selling a car. Due to his manner, both were accomplished; we experienced the ultimate in care and courtesy and a car was purchased. Being "transferred" to Steven for the finance talk, continued our positive experience and before heading out the door, Justin reviewed some matters and pointed out the need for the auto to have its windshield replaced which he stated he would address first thing on Monday morning. . . . Zach, your team has reflected very positively on this customer, and I am a tough customer when it comes to dolling out such terms. I worked in customer service and know how demanding customers can be; I never had cause to be the least bit uncomfortable or critical or demanding. GREAT job!

I went to Crown Toyota in Lawrence to drive a Rav4. Crown Toyota had been recommended to me by a friend of mine who has bought two Toyotas from them. I was greeted at the door by David Wilson. He was very polite and when I found out the salesman who I had come to see was on vacation, I asked him if he would help me. He was very knowledgeable and answered every question I asked. He let me drive a Rav4. I really liked the car but didn't like the color. He showed me a black Rav4 as I asked and that was the color I wanted. He found one with exactly what I wanted and has brought it to Lawrence. I will pick it up Friday. I liked the way it drove and it was easy to handle. I also liked all of the features. I travel a lot and wanted to make sure I was comfortable driving it on the highway. No problem. He has done everything I asked and has followed up as promised. I returned from 28 months in Afghanistan in need of a solid car. I went to numerous dealers of various brands. I was first impressed with the quality of the VW products. These cars are even broken-in prior to delivery to the dealers. While the dealers in KC were helpful, the Crown team were extremely easy to work with, accommodating to the max, and honest--I was not told any even slight exaggerations. In fact, I was given detail that no others disclosed, and they delivered my car to me at my hotel near KCI the next morning since I was in a rental car. Justin and Crown appraised my trade via the Internet (thus saving me a trip to Lawrence) and told me I could continue to drive my car for the 6 weeks it took for my new car to arrive. I just bought a 2013 RAV4 from Crown Toyota, and it was the easiest car-buying experience I've had thus far. The sales representative, David Wilson, was very knowledgeable about the different trims available and really worked to match me up with the one that best met my needs. He and his sales manager offered me all of the available bells and whistles, but didn't oversell anything. When I said "no," they understood and moved on rather than trying to cajole me into buying a package I didn't want or need. All in all, it was a very straightforward and easy to navigate experience. When it comes time to trade my RAV4 in, I am definitely going to stop by and see David first.

Justin Holshof not only worked extremely hard to make the deal happen, but did it almost entirely through email which is extremely rare in today's modern age. He went to any length necessary to make sure we were completely satisfied, and even took care of most of the paperwork so that once we got there we were in and out in all of 40 minutes. Incredible! I'd also like to mention that their finance person, Dave Gero, was the most professional finance person I have ever worked with. He was not high pressure, understood that we may not want everything he had to offer, and didn't push it when we declined. He had everything ready when we came in, wasted absolutely no time, and made sure we understood everything completely before signing away. In today's competitive age, Crown Toyota really understands how to make the customer buying experience as easy-going and pleasant as it could possibly be. We couldn't be happier!

I had a really terrible service experience from their service department, one of their staff members named Ed Keane had a really bad attitude when he spoke to me and my friend, he was talking to us like a police officer, he was extremely rude and impolite. Crown should be your dealership of choice. I just bought my new rav4 from Cody Chiles. I had visited 2 other Toyota stores in Kansas City, they don't hold a candle to the service or selection that Crown Toyota has. The absolute best part was when I told Cody what I wanted he went outside and got the car. He brought the car INSIDE the "kingdom" . I have never looked at the car I was buying inside a building before. Oh by the way they still gave me the best price. Cody made sure this was a special purchase for us. I will skip the other dealerships next time and go straight to Cody Chiles, and you should to.

Needed a new vehicle for work. Wasn't sure exactly what would be the right choice so I wanted to sty within a pretty tight budget. My sales guy [David] was patient and helpful. He understood my situation and wasn't pushy. He was honest about his opinions and knowledge of vehicles. There was no perfect choice but after driving several and lot's of deliberation, I ended up with a vehicle I am happy with. Wasn't a "steal of the century" deal but a fair and competitive price. Only had one issue since my purchase. I found a ding in the upper door frame on passenger side. I didn't notice it when shopping and test driving. I don't think David did either. Other than that it has been a great vehicle. I asked for a warranty since this vehicle had 88K miles. I intend to trade and buy my next vehicle with David if possible. Good experience.

The wife and I just bought a used Toyota Matrix at Crown and we could not be happier with our decision. Our buying experience was the best we have had. We highly recommend talking to Joshua Sinnard who helped us find the right car. I was trading in my Highlander so I didn't like sitting so low in the Camry. Cody talked me into test driving the RAV4. That is all it took to show me how great it was. Great buying experince from Josh Sinnard at Crown! Josh was very helpful in providing me with exactly the information I needed to make a decision. I am located 40 miles from the dealership so I was happy to find out when I arrived at the dealer everything that was discussed in emails and on the phone was exactly what appeared in the final paperwork. Josh also did a very good job walking through every feature on the Tacoma Truck. I learned a lot of new information from Josh I never would have read in the vehicle manual. We just bought our 3rd (her 4th) vehicle from Crown last week. Yes, we looked in Topeka and Kansas City and there surely was no way we would end up back in Lawrence at Crown to purchase again. We even went to another dealer in Lawrence and did not even make it to the test drive. It seems we had been spoiled by Laura Augustine (yes, that is a plug for her) who helped us out tons. We generally take forever in picking out a car but we had scouted out the website and had a few vehicles in mind when we came. We went from no-car to driving out in with a sweet low monthly payment on a low mileage 2012 Toyota Camry in about 3 1/2 hours. (A Toyota dealer in Topeka was not even in the price ball park on a higher mileage older model car!) We are not sure what was up with Laura as she was looking information up as she rode with us on several test drives so we had all the information we could think to ask of her. She was friend friendly, not pushy at all, and was very honest with us. (We figure she flunked out of car salesman school or something.) Her card says she is "your smiling sales consultant" and she was just that from the minute she came out to greet us in the rain to attaching the 60-day tag at the end so we could get on the road. I doubt the Camry will give out anytime soon but if we are going to look for another vehicle, we will be looking again at Crown and hope that Laura is still there.

Seems like every time a repair on my car is done, it has to go back to be done again. Has happened with two different cars on multiple ocassions. When my last problem was brought up with the service manager he adopted a blame the customer approach. No loaner cars for inadequate repairs, and their dropoff service is very poor. In my last service visit it took two hours to get a ride to Lawrence. Based on my experience stay away, they are not worth the hassle. If you intend to purchase a new car you are better off looking for a dealer with adequate customer service.

Gary Tilley made the buying process quite enjoyable. We found the car we were looking for at a fair price and Gary took time to show us everything about the dealership. The detailing of the car on delivery could have been better, and if they had taken more time for clean up it would have been appreciated. I contacted Cody on Tuesday afternoon concerning the lease of 2013 Toyota Tacoma. I told him what I had in mind and he brought the vehicle to my house that evening to test drive. A couple of hours later, Cody called me with the details of the lease agreement. With no haggling whatsoever, my terms were met. My time in the dealership the next day was minimal as Cody had already taken care of most of the paperwork. Overall, it was THE most pleasant car buying experience I've had to date. Our sales consultant (Gary Tilley) did an outstanding job finding the exact used car that met our needs, and our price point. We had a long list of ust havesand Gary took the time to make sure all of our questions were answered, and made the buying experience a pleasure. Dave Gero was, without a doubt, the best finance director we have ever worked with. He made the entire financing process quick, and also made sure we understood our financing options, and that we were comfortable with the terms we selected for our purchase. I am very meticulous about my vehicles, and how they are maintained, so I was eager to see the service area, and how it was ran. It was very clean and well organized, which is important to me. Service after the sale plays a large role in whether we return to the dealership for our next purchase. ABSOLUTELY THE SINGLE WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! I spent an afternoon coming to an agreement with the dealership, finally we agreed to a price and a deal was made. I needed to get approval from our credit union for the loan, and the dealership had to send in the paperwork the next morning. Even though we came to an agreement they pressured me to put money down, I gave my word I would be back the next day as soon as the loan was approved, we would return with a check for the amount we had agreed to. The salesman called in the morning to say the paperwork had been sent, my wife took half a day off from work, and off to the credit union we went. While on our way I called the sales manager to let him now we were on our way and would be there around 2, again I was pressured to put money down, even though we were on our way! After getting the paperwork done at the credit union we received the check and left for the dealership. We arrived at the dealership, right on time, excited and check in hand, only to be told, they were talking to someone else about the truck we had planned to buy! If the deal didn't work out, however, we could then buy the truck! REALLY!? Needless to say we left, any IAFF firefighter, family member, or friend, please go elsewhere to purchase a vehicle! If I could 0 out of 5 would be the score for this shady place, but they make you put at least 1 star down.

Stupendous!!!! Crown is the best car dealership in Lawrence, KS and the surrounding area. Their customer service and sales specialists exceeded all of our expectations in a dealership. They went far above and replaced a window motor and a speaker in our used vehicle we purchased in a quick and speedy fashion. Our sales specialist, Cody Chiles even drove back and forth from my current job to pick up our new truck to get the window motor repaired and provided a vehilce for me to utilize while the window motor was being repaired. A certified pre-owned )CPO) car was a key factor for our purchase decision. Our experience with this dealer was not worth the extra money we spent for a CPO VW. The sales staff was courteous, but their follow up and promises made at the sale were not timely and did not meet our requirements and expectations for a CPO vehicle; thus, the "fair" rating for this dealership.
