I recently purchased a pre-owned Honda Accord from Kenny Cross at Don Jacobs Imports. Kenny was fantastic to work with! The car I purchased was part of their new AUCTION ACCESS program. Kenny explained to me how the program works and even encouraged me to take the car for in independent inspection. I took his advice and although the car needed some minor service work, I felt very good about the cars past and future performance. What really impressed me the most about the entire experience was the fact Kenny sent the dealerships shuttle service to pick me up! I was a bit surprised at how easy the entire process was. Without a doubt, my experience was fantastic.

I have bought two VW beetles from Don Jacob Volkswagon. Brian Hill in the service department has always been my "go to person". Brian is courteous, friendly and always explains what is being done. I have dealt with him at DJ for at least 12 years and he is one of the main reasons I keep coming back-because I know I will get good service! You just don't find this kind of consistency at most car dealerships.

For some reason it seems like I have always had bad luck with mechanics and dealerships. Between being treated rudely and condescended to, and being overcharged for problems that weren't fixed, I have come to dread needing to get my car fixed or getting any service done. Well, that changes here!I am happy to say that the guys at don jacobs couldn't be nicer! They left me feeling well informed and confident that I was receiving the services that I needed, not just whatever they felt like selling me that day, as with past experiences. The man I worked with seemed happy to help, proud of the quality work they do, and had me in and out of the shop very quickly! I might not know much about cars but I know a lot about good customer service, and after visitng don jacobs, I know more about being a happy, satisfied customer. They've earned my business for life, or at least until I buy a diffI would happily recommend them to family, friends, or anyone looking to get their volkswagen worked on.

The quality of service that I received at Don Jacobs VW can't be beat! At least not in the local area. I've been bringing my passat to them since I bought it, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with it's maintenance. They are consistently, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I've yet to have a bad experience, and have enough faith in these guys that I feel comfortable recommending Don Jacobs to my own friends and family!

I called to schedule an appointment with Don Jacobs in Lexington. I requested to have my car serviced for the 20,000 mile maintenance on a Saturday due to my work schedule. Brian was able to give me the day requested and told me it would take at least 2 hours for the appointment. I arrived at 10 a.m. on November 2nd with Brian to greet me. Although it was obvious Brian was not feeling well with laryngitis, he was friendly! courteous and timely in getting me assisted. Brian made me feel welcome by offing me a hot drink and snacks while I waited in the comfortable waiting area. I had access to the morning paper and a room for quiet time which I chose in order to use my laptop. During my wait time, Brian came in to give me an update status on my car and continued wait time. I requested if I could get my car washed and Brian said he would take care of that as well. While I continued to wait, I browsed throughout the dealership to look at cars....the staff present spoke to me and asked if I needed anything (great customer service). At approximately 2 hrs and 10 minutes I was headed to pick up my key to leave. Brain did informed of my next scheduled visit and asked if there was any other concerns. This is my 3rd visit with this location and I will continue to return and for sure drive a Volkswagen....which I think are great cars as well.

Salesman completely dropped the ball on his communication with me and ultimately caused me to not by from their dealership. Was quick to call/email me with interest in locating a car for me since the car I was interested in was sold. Week later had to email him back and once he replied back he had to ask questions he was already given the information for. Very dissatisfied with promptness of help!

I purchased a used vehicle as-is with no extended warranty. The next day, I discovered the headlights were badly aligned and provided no visibility at night. This is certainly a safety issue. I confronted Tracey about it and we made arrangements to return to the dealership for a service technician to correct the problem. The technician indicated there was nothing wrong. Still not satisfied, I went back and had a conversation with the used car manager (Mark), who was condescending, rude and not willing to help. He insisted that the vehicle was inspected upon arriving as a used car and a second time when I requested, then insinuated that I did not know what I was taking about. I asked him to have someone correct it and he told me he wasn't willing to give me the free fix. After a heated argument with Mark, I decided to take the vehicle to James Motor where they acknowledged the mis-aligned headlights and corrected them within 10 minutes for free. I took a picture of the headlights while 1 was adjusted correctly and the other was at its original position; I took this photo back to Mark to show him the problem and how badly they were aligned. Even, after seeing this proof, he would not admit being wrong. I told Mark that I have owned many VWs over the past 10 years and would never return to that dealership and his lack of representation of the brand will be a part of any future decision to buy a VW. He apologized for how I felt, and never did apologize for any misrepresentation or his own behavior. Tracey Strouse was a great salesman and went above and beyond throughout the whole purchasing process. The management team (specifically Mark) seems to base their level of customer service on the amount of profit margin you pay. The used car manager has no respect for his customers and will never admit any fault in his own mistakes.

Based upon my experience derived from several visits I can attest that he entire team is highly professional,knowledgeable and customer-oriented in every respect.

Mr. Dycus was congenial in person at first but cannot, in my opinion, be trusted to follow through with his commitments. I asked a specific question regarding the engine in the Eurovan I had taken in for engine repair. He said he'd get back to me but didn't saying the the age of the van (1995) required a paper search. I really wonder how a Volkswagen dealership/repair facility correctly repairs these engines (5 cylinder, aluminum head, cast iron block) without data on the requirement of headbolt replacement according to the Volkswagen technical site not to mention removal procedure for headbolts and correct installation procedure of new bolts. My repair of this engine less than 400 miles prior at great expense made me want to ask questions in advance. Mr. Dycus said he'd report me to Volkswagen!! Amazing what people will say in a temper fit!!

Patron was excellent to work with. When I stop by Don Jacobs it was to drop of a friend to pick up his car for services. While I was at the dealership I met Patron and asked about looking at an EOS. Patron was very knowledgeable about the EOS and let me know of the new zero interest rate on the 2010 EOS and he took me on a test drive. He was friendly and not pushy and allowed me the time I requested to consider if I was going to buy a new car since I had not really made plans to do that at that time. he called me several times over the following week to see if I was still interested. He impressed me with his friendliness and listened to me which I feel is essential to being a good Sales person. My experience with Don Jacobs and in particular with David Monk has to be one of the best car shopping experience possible. It started the moment we walked on the lot. Mr. Monk greeted my Girlfriend ( the one buying the car) and I with a very positive and welcoming attitude. As my girlfriend walked around Mr. Monk was very honest about and forthcoming about the cars on the lot and purchasing options available. When my girlfriend had made her decisions we informed Mr. Monk we would have to return at a later date, he was very understanding and did not push her to make a rush decision. On the day she bought the car he was very helpful in getting all of the paperwork together and filled out. While my girlfriend was with the business manager wrapping things up Mr. Monk took the time to sit and talk things over with me. He found the important documents related to her new car and walked me through how to setup the bluetooth for my girlfriends hands free setup. Overall, it was a great experience and when I am ready to buy my next VW I will not hesitate to return to Don Jacobs or work with Mr. Monk again.

I set out to find a gently used but newer BMW 5 series for my wifes 30th birthday. Don Jacobs was my first and last stop. There was no need to look any further. They had several used certified used BMW's to choose from. All with VERY low miles and still looking brand new. Gabe took the time to explain in detail everything I wanted to know. He was able to assist me the whole way through the unforgetable car buying experience. I found the car of wifes dreams and a price that I couldn't turn down. They're able to finance my BMW at an awesome rate and BMW even paid my first 3 car payments! After owning other sport luxery sedans, Don Jacobs was able to leave an everlasting experience that no other dealer has done. Very pleased!

I was cautious about going to the dealer and not to my normal repair shop. I was blown away by the professionalism that I saw in service!! Brain Hill was very prompt in returning my calls and knew the answers to all my questions as a new volkswagon owner. I was told about the current warranty and when to bring in my car in next. I have been to 2 Volkswagen dealerships in the past in Louisville and have been treated horribly with poor service. When I came to the one in Lexington, I was expecting the same thing, but it was a completely new experience. The customer service was excellent. The workers actually help their customers, and it makes me feel good about bringing my car here. Everytime I walk in, I am always greeted and taken care of right away. The quality of work is superb, and I cannot explain how much I value the customer service team. They are wonderful! Brian Hill has always helped me since the first day I brought my car in. He is a very hard worker and has magnificent customer service skills. I really appreciate his hard work and curteous attitude every time I bring my car in. I will continue to bring my car into this VW dealership, even if I have to drive from Louisville because of the fantastic customer service! Thanks again!!

I've owned my VW Jetta since 2001 and have always taken it back to Don Jacob's (where I purchased the car) for the scheduled maintenance. The ONLY customer service person I work with at VW Service is Brian Hill. He takes care of everything I need. I make sure I schedule the service on days he is working. Owning a foreign car is expensive to maintain so the price is more than going somewhere else other than the dealer for services. However, I ALWAYS take my car to Don Jacob's and work with Brian because I know it will be done right. They use service technicians that work solely on VW's, so they catch things that may otherwise go un-noticed.If Brian ever leaves Don Jacob's, I don't know what I will do!

Just like any dealership, service on your vehicle will be pricey. However, Don Jacobs charged me for several services which were not even performed. For one, they charged me $175 to clean the throttle body; 5 months later I took it to another mechanic who cleaned the throttle body for free; when I mentioned that it had just recently been cleaned, he informed me that it didn't appear to have been cleaned since installed (10 years). The list also includes very temporary, yet expensive, fixes and nonexistent newly installed parts. I guess I look like a fool, because that is how I was treated.

I would never deal with these people again. They hide behind a "family atmosphere" slogan and that is farther from the truth than you can get. My wife and I test drove a used 2006 Toyota Sequoia and liked what we saw. When we returned to the lot the salesman was ready to make the deal happen. We went back and forth with him and the sales manager for at least two hours. At one point he said that he could not go in his managers office right now because he was busy talking to other sales managers about their yearly report. This statement was made while my pregnant wife sat next to me and had been waiting for at least an hour and a half. Here's the kicker!! We made an offer and they accepted pending that we get a certain amount for our trade in. Well, our trade in was priced 800 less than fair value trade in on both nada and kbb and that is at the worst possible value. We were 1300 away from a deal in a bad economy. When we were leaving the salesman walked us out and said that they were going to find out how much the repair on the DVD system would be (deal contingent) and that he would try to make something happen. Either way he was going to call us to let us know. So the next day went by and I called the guy back to find out what he came up with and was given the run around and told that after a full day they still had no word on what the cost would be. At this point I told the salesman that my wife wanted the car and that if they would give me 500 more dollars on my trade in (still 375 less than true trade in value) that I would pay the difference! I just knew the deal was done... Day three of dealing with these guys and the salesman comes back saying that after the repairs were done they want 4000 more than their accepted offer that never happened because of the trade in. Oh buddy was I hot!!! My wife and I wasted at least 3 hours of time dealing with these people and were insulted at the end. Unless you want to get raped on your trade in and jerked around in a bad economy stay away from these people because I can guarantee you I was not the first and will not be the last person to experience stuff like this from these guys.

Had a BMW to trade in, drove it to the lot late one afternoon....after leaving it for the night for a trade-in evaluation, suddenly the car had many problems...offered me 1/2 of the fair value trade in (KBB) on the car. i refused. Offered to checkout "problems" for free. All they did was have the tech price the "problems," not diagnosis them...their estimate to fix the problems was over the fair market value! They then tried to convince me that I would be better off taking their deal since repairs would cost me more than the value of the car.Had to jump start the car to get it home. Replaced the battery and everything is working fine...interesting!Will NEVER attempt to do business with these people again!

I recently bought a new vehicle from Don Jacobs. The salesperson was really nice but the used car manager was very unprofessional and would not give a fair deal on my trade-in or the new car. In fact, his initial offer was exactly 50% of what he ended up giving me for the trade-in. The service department supervisor is very knowledgable but services are way too overpriced.
