Our entire buying experience was outstanding. Everyone at the dealership were very helpful and courteous. Taking the time to say hello and actually waiting for a response tells you they were doing everything they could to make it a good experience. I am a bit of a horse trader and Dave Lareau hung in there with me and worked with me till were able to get the deal finished. Some dealers won't do that and that is part of it for me so this is why we come back to Douglas Dodge. This is the second vehicle we have purchased from them in less than a year. I will continue to come to them in the future. Have not worked with the service department yet so don't know them yet but if they are anything like the sales dept. it will be just fine. Says a lot for the management of a store when the staff is like this. Great dealership!! Thanks guys.

Douglas in Clinton IL does it all right. They are the most friendly staff and service people that I have had the pleasure of working with. I bought a low mileage 2013 Laramie Longhorn 3500, loaded. The whole process of buying as well as my trade in was simple, direct, and very happy with entire process. Owner, Dave(salesman), and all the other people involved were really spot on and easy to work "with". I am 51 and driven Chevy since I was 16, the salesman joking said that 'it was about time I stepped' up. Sorry to say Chevy, this truck is a step up and we are taking this Ram for a ride. We are retiring, hooking to a 43 foot fifth wheel, and enjoying the ride across USA.

Overall our experience was very good. There is a few small things that could of been better. We like the truck that we purchased and are very well pleased with it. Taylor at Douglas Dodge was great! I bought the car out of state and Taylor was awesome sending me pictures of the car and talking to me on the phone. He even had someone pick me up from the airport in Bloomingdale, so I could purchase the car and drive it home. He also had his shop guys put on new wheels on the car, after I had snow tires shipped to him. Overall the experience was great buying.

We are very satisfied! We searched all over and Douglas Dodge had the most car for the least money of anywhere we found. We drove over 250 miles to buy our car there. We didn't make it before they closed and the salesman who usually had Friday as his day off, came in especially for us on Friday. He even called the motel and got us a discount on a room. My husband and I seen a Dodge Journey on the internet under this dealership. We had inquired about it and took a drive there. It was a little over a 2 hr drive. We read many reviews on this certain salesperson. This was Dave Lareau. We were told to go for a test drive. I love when the salesperson doesn't come with. It is more relaxing and less stressful. The deal didn't go through on the day we were there. The financing was too much for us; we decided to wait. The dealership called us back and worked out the numbers for us. We eventually went back in a few days. Everything was waiting for our signatures. Then we were on our way back home with our new car. Other than that little glitch in the deal we were very pleased and still pleased of how it worked out. We give 5 stars to the dealership and to Dave. To me he is the best salesperson of this country. I am not happy dealing with salespeople, but he is exceptional. Remember, just deal with Dave.

He knew the vehicles, what they had in stock, and was very patient while we looked at several. He made several trips to get different sets of keys as we looked through the options without any complaining. I already wrote a review once but cars.com must have lost it? Anyway, I bought a 2012 Dodge Avenger on 3/18/13 and LOVE it! Dave Lareau was EXCELLENT! I test drove probably 5 or 6 cars and had him running all over the lot to find the ones I wanted and he was very friendly and patient the whole time! They have a GREAT selection of used cars with GREAT options! The buying process is very FAST and efficient! Dave at Douglas Dodge did a great job in assisting me with purchasing my 2012 Grand Caravan. I worked with him over a 4 week period trying to decide on the perfect van for our family and after changing my selection half a dozen times, I finally decided on one. Even though Douglas Dodge has the vehicles priced very aggressively, you can rest assured that the vehicles are top quality because they provide you with a carfax report. I cannot think of a better car buying experience! Dave Lareau is not all about making a "deal" but more about taking care of his customers and giving them what they want. We went in looking for a used Durango and walked away with a brand new one instead! He took the time to make sure we were happy and really cared about what we needed and wanted in a vehicle, whether is was the looks of the vehicle or the price ranges we wanted. He ran around outside, mind you it was windy, cold and started snowing, finding other vehicles to meet our needs, and he always had a smile on his face. Dave was great and made the experience that much better for us and we cannot say how much we appreciated it. He even called and checked in on us a few weeks later to see how things were going. I just bought my second minivan from Douglas. Dave Lareau handled the sale. Douglas buys a number of low-mileage program cars every year, and sells them about $2K less than anything I've seen anywhere else. This could be because there is really no negotiating room on these vehicles - which is good news if you don't like to haggle. It's worth the 160 mile round trip for me to get there. The selection of Dodge and Chrysler minivans is huge. Dave asked a number of good questions about my family and our driving habits to show that he really was interested in making a good fit. When I came back a year later, he remembered me and the names of everyone in the family. There was no pressure, never any nagging telephone calls. While offered extras (such as extended warranty) during the purchase, there was no pressure to accept those either. The facilities are clean and nice. I used their free wifi to do some comparisons. With their prices and easy sales process, I plan on trading annually.

Ask for Dave Lareau. He made it a great experience purchasing my 2013 RAM. Buying a vehicle is one of the worst experiences in the world. Not here, no pressure, not the typical game that is played with a lowball trade-in offer just to make it look like they are working for you. I suggest going ahead and wasting about an hour of your time with another dealer just to get the normal experience, but DO NOT buy anything until you have talked to Dave at Douglas Dodge! I will be calling Dave in about a year, when I am looking for my daughter a used car.

My wife and I went to Douglas Dodge to buy a used minivan, a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country. We made the trip to Clinton from Champaign because they had the lowest starting prices. We went without an appointment. We met with Dave Lareau. He was friendly, courteous, and helped us test-drive, trade-in, finance and buy all in one visit, between the appointments he already had scheduled. We had our 12 month old son with us throughout the process and Dave was great with him too.A couple of days after the purchase we realized that the van was missing the DVD remote and headsets that came in the other vans we'd test drove. It was also missing the owner's manual. I gave Dave a call and he shipped us a package with the missing items, along with an extra key and our son's stocking cap which we had dropped in his office. Other than being kind and looking to please a customer he was under no obligation to go that extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. Great guy. We love the car, got more for our trade-in that we anticipated and would buy from there again.

I have been going to Douglas Dodge in Clinton off and on for 2 years trying to find my "dream" car. Dave Lareau has met me with a smile and the patience of a saint each and every time I went in. I would make sure to email Dave to see when he would be there and Dave has even offered to come in on his days off to let me test drive a car. Dave took the time out of his day to explain to me the functions of a car, the pros, as well as the cons, of each and every vehicle I looked at. Dave has always been very accomodating and understanding of my wants/needs. Dave would always tell me "If you don't find what you are looking for, just wait and keep looking. We will get you in a great car." He was NEVER pushy. I never once felt like Dave was just in it for the sale. Dave took the time to get to know me and helped me find the right vehicle for me. Dave ended up getting me behind the wheel of a Dodge Avenger, even though I didn't think it was what I wanted (I had gone to test drive a Chrysler 200 and was disapponted). I fell in love within the first 30 seconds of being behind that wheel. Dave made the entire process quick and painless. I am 100% satisfied with my vehicle, as well as the dealership and Dave, in particular. I will never go anywhere else.

This dealership provided little to no cooperation after I purchased a used Dodge Ram 3500 diesel. Within the first 30 days owning the truck the engine blew while traveling through Oklahoma. Douglas Dodge provided me no assistance in repairing the vehicle. They did not even offer to repair it if I could get it to them. During the engine failure, I was transporting a horse. Douglas Dodge refused to loan me a vehicle to return to Oklahoma to pick up my horse and trailer. Through the entire ordeal, Douglas Dodge offerred me $600.00 off the %14,000.00 repair cost. It's all about the sale to them, NO after the sale customer service here. STAY AWAY

Never felt compelled to write a review before until today. Found the truck I was looking for online at Douglas dodge called and spoke to Steve. I personally hate haggling so after a brief discussion over the phone we came up with agreed price. Drove three hours to purchase vehicle and when I arrived was told they would not accept my trade for the simple reason that my 4 wheel drive wasn't working. Being unaware of this problem, driving the distance to purchase the truck, and dealership having a service dept I was under the impression that we could come to some type of agreement. Manager was unwilling to even communicate with me so I drove another three hours home. My truck managed to make the 330 mile journey without any mishaps. Ill find another truck just very disappointed that I wasn't given an opportunity to buy the truck after the effort I put into purchasing it.

Found my Ram 2500 on their website. No one in New Jersey had the model I was looking for. Douglas not only had it but had many different styles, at a better price than every other dealer. Absolutly great experience. Picked me up at the airport, full tank of gas, Dave the salesman was very helpful and friendly. Wish we had dealers like this in New Jersey, but its alright because id take the flight and 11 hour drive home again to deal with the great people at Douglas! I finally found the Ram truck I wanted, but it was 4 hours away. After a lot of second guessing myself and a couple phone conversations with Ed at Douglas Dodge, I decided to make the trip. The price on the truck was spot on for the options and condition of the vehicle, and they worked with me to make sure I got a fair deal on my trade in. It was very hot the day I made the trip, but before I got there, Ed had the truck I wanted to look at pulled in the shop so it could cool down a bit. After I drove the truck and found it to be everything their website and Ed had described to me, (and then some!) we negotiated for a few minutes on my trade in and made a deal. Since the truck was priced where it should have been according to all my research, the negotiating process took 10-15 minutes and focused solely on my trade in. The 8 hours round trip that I spent driving was well worth not having to negotiate for hours on end like I've experienced elsewhere. I appreciated the "small-town" feel of the dealership and that the negotiating didn't take place in a small back room, but rather right out in the open. Also, from what I saw (though I wasn't really looking for anything else as I knew exactly what I was looking for) they appear to have a selection comparable to a larger big city dealership. To top off the whole experience, I completely forgot to try to have them throw in a full tank of gas on the new truck (would have cost me $90), but when I got in the truck it was completely topped off. Ed had told me on the phone a week prior that they'd be sure to give me a full tank of gas to get me home and he didn't forget. Two weeks later, Ed even called me to ask how I was liking the new truck and make sure everything was still working well. Overall, this was the best car buying experience and I will definitely give them a chance to find me another vehicle when it comes time to trade in my wife's car. Dealing with Douglas Dodge (Ed in particular) was well worth the 4 hour drive for me.

I had such a great experience here. My family has gone here for cars and refers everyone. I came down from Chicago just to get my car here due to their reputation. The guy that helped me out was named Dave Lareau. He is very helpful and makes the process run smoothly. He isn't one of those typical pushy sales people. When you walk in you feel like you are a friend visiting and testing out cars. When I went to sign the paperwork everything was filled in and the guy was so nice. Everyone I met there was very friendly and made you feel at ease. I know buying a car is such a large investment and everyone there is trustworthy. I have not ever had a glowing experience at a car dealership until this past weekend. Saw this vehicle online and was a great deal. Drove 6.5 hours on a whim without even checking to make sure the car was there. Thank goodness it was. Dave Lareau is friendly personable and not "the typical pushy car salesman". We had our two boys with us and they were just very accomodating. They let me walk out of there with my reasonable requests of some price drop and the interest rate I knew my credit deserved. The manager and Dave made our car buying experience the best EVER! Thank you for not trying to upsale us and really listening to our needs. I will tell you we will definitely be willing to make that 6.5 hour trip again in a few years when my husband upgrades his truck. They even filled up our tank halfway before pulling out and Dave stood outside to see us off. Best customer service EVER. Thank you Dave. We will be back.

live a couple hours away so i called them first to see if car was still available and it was. told them i had financing in order and could come in to purchase vehicle within a couple days. offered them their asking price, if they could sell it for that total price out the door. i was advised they dont come down on price and there is no haggling because they list the best price upfront, and wouldnt offer me anything but full sticker price (which granted is their right) but if this is the case, this would be the first car dealership i've ever dealt with that doesnt try to make some kind of deal. they seem nice, but just be advised, the price they advertise is what you get, apparently that is the best they have to offer. its really too bad, i was ready to make a drive to buy a $20,000+ car for very little work on their part.

There was no pressure at this Dealer. I was just kicking arround the idea of buying a used vehicle and was tired of the dealers in decatur. So i found a couple of Trucks at Douglass in clintion. I called the dealer and got hooked up with a salesman and set up an apointment. Once I got there they put Me in a golf cart and we started looking. I saw some cool vehicles that i wasnt intent on buying but the salesman and i looked anyway. He didnt say hey you need this vechile he just stoped and admired it well as i did. Finally I found a Truck I wanted to test drive They gave me the keys and off I went. I returned and told the salesman I couldnt figure out how to work the 4wd, he jumped in the driver seat and told me to get in and he figured it out for me. I decided to get the truck and he even helped me out with the paperwork. The salesman even kept me updated by phone as the loan was being processed. If you want a no pressure buying experience from some good ole boys Try out Douglass Dodge in Clinton illinois. Even if you dont find the vehicle you want you can always stop by the lake and take in the scenery. The salesman even called me a week later and asked me how i liked the truck and sent me a thank you card. Dealers in Decatur dont do that

From start to finish Dave was great to work with. Called him before heading over about a vehicle, when we got there it was already for a test drive! Easy to work with as he had a no hassle approach to selling his vehicle and no running back and forth to sales manager's and having different people try and talk with you.
