However, I wrote to Ford Motor Company last week for help and I received a letter from someone by the name of Ben in Customer Relations. I wrote him asking for help and he wrote me back and said he could not help.As you know by looking at my record that I am driving my second Lincoln and I love it. In fact I went to the dealer here Ed Howard and spoke with the Sales Manager and told him I would like to try and terminate my lease on my MKC and get buy a new MKZ Hybrid. He said he was not interested in making a deal since he sold the MKZ Hybrid as quick as he could get them in. I said I would pay in cash and he said he was better off with a finance because he made more money.So long story short I went to Honda yesterday and purchased an Accord Hybrid and traded in my MKC which they were glad to do. Our mission was to determine if we were going to add the Lincoln MKC and MKX to our list possible SUV's for our next purchase in 2017. We had been to Cadillac, BMW, Audi, and Jaguar. All GREAT experiences. Vehicles were shown, options discussed, friendly, helpful. We were greeted at the door by a salesperson, and explained we were just looking, and would not be purchasing until Spring 2017, When asked for our names and phone, we replied we would not provide personal information other than first names. The salesperson seemed to loose interest, and we were treated with indifference. We had not been to dealership since 2002, when we experienced a "High Pressure" salesperson. Today was our LAST visit to this dealership. We then went to a competitor in Bradenton and had an outstanding experience.....we expect to purchase a MKX next spring from them.

We were pushed, yelled at, had our arms bent backwards and even asked how much we'd be willing to payThen we went to Ed Howard Lincoln where Joe Stratton said "hello" and "welcome" and offered to show us the model we liked. He offered to let us test drive. He offered to discuss the fine points of the Navigator (our choice) and really knew his product. No pushing. No "what will it take to get your business " just courtesy and a fair deal. We bought the Navigator We met several folks there including the manager, Mike. Everyone was gracious. They valued our business. They sold us a great vehicle. We are on the road in it, hauling a trailer effortlessly and headed North!I have to say it: we love our Lincoln. We are so glad we went to Ed Howard Lincoln. And as for Joe Stratton, he believes Lincolns sell themselves. He just helps the process along

After a dismal day visiting other Sarasota dealerships to determine which SUV brand, and model we wanted to lease, my grandson and I went to Ed Howard Lincoln. What a remarkable difference. We were fortunate to have our car serviced by an honest technician and to have a service department managed by an honest man with integrity and attention to personal care. About a month prior to getting our car serviced for an A/C issue, we had lost an envelope with a large amount of cash obtained during a charity fund raiser. My wife thought she had placed it in the glove compartment, but we were unable to find it anywhere in the car. When servicing the A/C, the technician had to remove the glove compartment and discovered the envelope. With knowledge that we were traveling and not at our home location, he had the option of saying nothing and keeping the envelope, but he did the honest thing and brought it to the service manager Steve Fine, who promptly called to notify us and held the envelope for us to come retrieve. This demonstrates excellent management and choice of employees as well as a personal concern for customers. Thank you very much.

Took MKZ for recalled light fixture and service was very, very good. Lenora was very professional and polite. The complimentary car wash is always welcomed but this time the wheels/hub caps were not cleaned. If the vehicle is washed using a drive-thru machine, the bottom section was not touched; a personal inspection would have easily spotted this and a piece of wet cloth would have completed the job.Armor All can help!

Called service department on Monday morning about a recall on our Grand Marquis, headlight module. Lanora got us in right away for diagnosis. Part ordered, arrived Tuesday, appointment Wednesday morning - done in 1 hour!!!!!!!We are from NY and needed the repair ASAP, since we are driving home next week. Couldn't believe how accommodating they were - Lanora was extremely sensitive to our need to get the recall / repair done is very short order!!!!!

Lenora Smiley, in the service department truly knows how to treat a customer. Many dealerships would have most likely dismissed my observation about discoloration in my seat, but the entire service team, including Steve and Terry, acknowledged the problem and ordered a replacement. On top of that they completed the job far quicker than anticipated and when I couldn't return to pick up the car, they locked it inside. Unlike other experiences I've had, I can do nothing but praise the professional and empathetic treatment I received from Lenora and the service team. I couldn't be happier. From the moment we walked into the dealership and were greeted by Joe Stratton, we had a very pleasant experience. I can't say enough about this dealership. I had a small problem with the door handle on our MKX and called for a service visit. I talked with Lanora Smiley and set up a service visit. for the following day. The handle was repaired in the drive up area without even going into the garage space. It took minutes and there wasn't even a charge. She's the face of the service department and is wonderful to work with. While I was waiting for the job to be completed I ran into Bob Gowan, the Body Shop Manager and we discussed touching up the rear bumper that had become nicked up from all the use. We scheduled the touch up for a VERY reasonable amount. The repair took one more day than promised and Bob discounted the job by the one day extension on the rental car that was needed. We're snowbirds, but if we lived anywhere in the area I would by my next vehicle from this dealership just to get to work with this service department. It's what customer service should be!

We moved to Florida a year ago and started bring our car to Ed Howard Lincoln for service. Everyone has been friendly and completely professional. Lenore explains everything that they do to the car and always follows up with a phone call to make sure we were satisfied with our service and if there else she can do for us. Steve Fine also stops by the waiting room to make sure every thing is going okay with our service and if we need anything.We were traveling on I-75 coming back from Miami when we hit a 5 gal. bucket of paint sitting in the road. The bucket was stuck under car which we managed to remove. We took the car to Ed Howard so see if we had any damage under the car and Steve and Lenore immediately took the car back and put it up on the rack and made sure a thorough inspection was performed.. Lucky for us all was well .

We recently purchased a 2013 Lincoln MKX from Ed Howard Lincoln. Jim Halas was the Lincoln Brand Champion (sales representative) who was very instrumental in our decision to purchase the car. We were very pleased with the service we had received once before from Jim and were happy to work with him when we decided to purchase a new MKX.My husband test drove at least 5 other cross-over vehicles and I test-drove the Lincoln and the Cadillac SRX. I preferred the Lincoln MKX. When Jim first introduced the 2013 MKX to us he carefully explained the physical exterior differences between our 2010 Lincoln MKX and the 2013 MKX. It was refreshing to see Jims excited attitude about the new look of the 2013 MKX. When we got into the car and before we left the parking lot to test drive the car, Jim made sure we understood all the functions necessary for safety. He pointed out the upgrades and significant changes in the interior of the 2013 MKX from our 2010 MKX. He also patiently answered our questions while we were driving. When we returned to the dealership, Jim carefully explained the Navigation-Entertainment-Telephone system in the car and again answered all our questions. Jim knows the vehicle thoroughly and is able to clearly explain the workings of the vehicle to a non-techy person. He doesnt need to bad mouth other cross-over vehicles in order to sell the Lincoln. He obviously believes in the quality of Lincoln vehicles and conveys his confidence in the company which is encouraging to a prospective buyer. Jim has a beautiful smile, engaging personality, and seems to have a genuine desire to do the most he can to satisfy his customer and his dealership and bring the two together in a happy relationship. We would certainly work with Jim again to buy another vehicle from Lincoln. We will also recommend Jim to our friends and acquaintances who may be ready to purchase a car. We were ready to pay the listed price, $23,450 for a "Certified Pre-Owned" 2010 MKX listed on http://EdHowardLincoln.net/. I found this car by doing a search on the site for "Certified Pre-Owned" because I wanted to purchase a car that came with that type of guarantee and quality assurances. On the listing for this specific car, it states that the car is "Certified Pre-Owned," it has the logo for Lincoln Certified Pre-Owned, and it has a video explaining what Certified Pre-Owned means.When we called to inquire about the total cost including tax and dealer fees for this vehicle, we were told that the price for the car "Certified Pre-Owned" is actually $1,000 more than the price advertised on their web site. It was explained to me that the price listed is only if we take the care WITHOUT the certification, even the "Certified Pre-Owned" is mentioned on this specific vehicle's listing in THREE different places. There is no disclaimer on the web site explaining the discrepancy between the actual price and the listed price if you want to buy the car as advertised, "Certified Pre-Owned."Clearly fraudulent advertising. I was at Ed Howard for my regular mileage check, which was done in a timely way. I was on my way home when there was a large object on I-75 and I had a blowout. After AAA changed to my spare, I called Lenore in Service and she informed me that she had a tire in stock. I returned and they put on the new tire, checked my alignment and the underside of my car...all at a very reasonable price. I was planning on making a 600+ mile road trip in a few days (a woman driving alone). I talked to Lenore about it. She had checked all my tires and we decided that I would return and have two more new tires installed before my trip. I trust her and the whole dealership explicitly and will always have all my work done there. Their prices are competitive and they are very accommodating.

Jim Halas was our salesman and he was extremely friendly and had a sound, in-depth knowledge of the new Lincoln MKZ and it's features. This was a new model with new technology and we had many questions that Jim handled easily. We first arrived at the Ed Howard dealership after leaving another local Lincoln dealership where we were very dissatisfied with the reception we received when we were inquiring about the new MKZ that was about to arrive on dealer lots. We had a lot of trouble with late delivery (ordered Nov 22nd, delivered April 15th), which was very frustrating to us, but that was the fault of the manufacturer and not the dealership. As it turned out we were compensated generously by Ford for this situation.On final closing at delivery we were treated very well by the financial manager Jim Robinson. He was very knowledgeable and helped us cut through a lot of problems that were happening in transferring of monies from our financial lender. We were having the car registered in Michigan but the financing was being done in Florida and Jim Robinson contacted our financial institution to iron out the wrinkles. He and the dealership allowed and arranged for us to take the car to Michigan for registration and then return the necessary paperwork by mail, so they could apply for funds from the lender. We were owed refund and incentives monies from Ford that they flowed through to us promptly by mail. Overall, a well coordinated effort.

On 5/2/13 I stopped in the dealership to ask for help learning to operate the GPS in my car. My salesman, Ted Long, was not working that evening. Jim Halas immediately stepped forward and explained that he was helping another client at that time. He said if I could return the next day Ted Long would be there and if Ted was not available, he would help me. No one else was available. I thanked Jim and left. I returned the next evening. Jim did just as he promised. He came out to my car, sat with me and clearly explained the GPS system to me. He set some addresses in it and made sure I understood how to do it by letting me set some addresses. He also connected my phone to the car. He did not hurry me and treated me as if I was the most important client he had that day. Jim told me not to hesitate to call him or come back in if I had any additional questions. He clearly understands the technical aspects of the car but did not make me feel incompetent as he explained them to me. That is a quality of a good teacher. I highly recommend Jim to anyone visiting Ed Howard and I hope Ed Howard realizes the value of Jim Halas. Thanks again, Jim!

Lanora greeted us early in the morning with a smile and went a step further by agreeing to complete our request for the service department to complete a software update that we were not sure of completing on our computer ourselves. She also asked us if we would like our vehicle washed as a complimentary service. She is also pleasant when we phone for our service appointment and does not rush us off the phone.Our salesperson Jim Halas was great at the time of delivery when we purchased our vehicle, went over every aspect of the vehicle and set up our phone on the SYNC system for us. Lanora Rambeau and Steve Fine are excellent people to deal with. They both know the business and are honest and to the point so that there is no misunderstandings. It is a pleasure doing business with them, they just can't do enough for their customers. I see it over and over with the way they operate. Never heard of one complaint in service pertaining to either of them. I call make an appointment and tell Lanora that I want to bring my vehicle in and what time. I pull it in and am greeted by my name and am welcomed. She writes up the order and off I go. She thenlets me know when it is done and goes over the details. Off I go. Mr Fine checks sporadically to make sure all is going well.

Bought my 2009 Mercury Mariner Premier new from Ed Howard thinking I would be getting an excellent vehicle. However, at 7,000 miles, I had to have my vehicle brought in for service only to discover I needed to have my transmission entirely replaced. They informed me that the Mariner was known for having transmission issues, and you would assume they would be prepared for someone to be bringing one in. However, it took me over 2 weeks to simply have the new transmission installed. From then on, the nightmare simply got worse and worse. Approximately ever 2-3 months through the present I have had to have it in to get serviced. I have two more payments to make until the vehicle is paid off, and never before have I regretted purchasing a vehicle like I have with this. The worst part to me, was that every time after warranty that I brought the vehicle in to be serviced, I was treated like helping me was the last thing that Steve was interested in doing. The only good employee there that I dealt with was Lenora and she was the only bright spot of this entire service department. I ended up resorting to bringing my vehicle to Matthews Currie Ford in Venice to get my issues looked at and they were far, far, far more helpful and knowledgeable. And after all of this, all of the issues I kept having with my Mariner, Ford informed me that Ed Howard Lincoln-Mercury had actually managed to install part of the transmission BACKWARDS, causing my transmission to repeatedly overheat and essentially ruining all of the internal components, and all of the payment for the service is now my problem thanks to the multitude of mistakes made by the Ed Howard staff. I have never felt so ripped off and disappointed with a business in my life, and anyone whom I know cant believe all of the hassle that I had to go through to even get Ed Howard to merely look at the vehicle without charging me an arm and a leg. The worst of the people working there is Steve Braver, and he is far less "brave" than his name implied, his name should really be Steve Care-Less or Steve Do-No-Work. One time when I went in and was upset with how the vehicle had not been fixed for what I had brought it in for previously, and the vehicle broke down in the middle of Beneva Road leaving me stranded, he told me to "relax" and that it was "not his problem", and that I had no reason to be upset. He then proceeded to say he was going to look into the problem and would get back to me. Two days later, the problem was "fixed" and I paid full cost, and was sent on my way, and surprise surprise, not two weeks later my car broke down again for the 3rd time and had to be brought back, and still was never fixed until I took it to Matthews Currie and they could not believe the mess up of work that had been done on the car, and how now, the transmission was essentially ruined. Never ever ever should you take your car to this place, the one good employee cannot compare to all of the headaches and poor work that were performed there, and the customer service was literally as poor as it gets, and that is the only reason I actually took the time to write this whole review, because I have never taken the time to actually give a place a bad review ever before in my life. Please reconsider if you are considering doing ANY business with this dealership, trust me, within 6 months, you will be kicking yourself and wishing you had paid attention to this review.

This dealer screwed me over. I wasn't provided with the "official" ford checklist on a certified pre-owned car that I purchased. Turns out they had a very good reason to be less than forthcoming with checklist as the car was previously in an accident. This would have been documented on the official Ford form and wasn't disclosed. Shame on Ed Howard.I would NOT recommend this dealer and personally I am a little disturbed that Ford would consider certifying a car that has been in an accident with a Certified Pre-Owned designation.

Went to this dealership because of the big selection of MKX's on their website - trading in a 2010 MKZ. Spent 30 minutes looking at cars on the lot and even went inside to use the restroom. Had to ask a salesman where the restrooms were and he nor the salesman that walked past us on the lot with his lunch nor anyone else asked if we needed help or if we had any questions. Left this dealership and went to another dealership the following weekend and purchased a $50,000 2011 Lincoln MKX.

After being treated very poorly at another local Lincoln Mercury dealership, I was very aprehensive about trying another. Fortunately, I went to Ed Howard is Sarasota and met Mike Hillman the Sales Manager who worked with Ted Long my salesman. They were both very easy to work with and were able to give me a better deal than I thought because of where I was retired from. Buying a new car on my own, I would like to compliment how they treated me from the moment I came in the door to when I drove my new car home. I signed the paperwork for the deal, the financning manager realized he misread the mileage and handed me my money back (all of it in cash after I signed a contract) and told me he was no going to honor it. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED LIKE THIS IN MY ENTIRE LIFE AND I WILL NEVER SET FOOT ON THEIR PROPERTY AGAIN. I hired a lawyer to let them deal with their crap.

After Vince Butera, the service manager, totaled my Navigator while joy riding in a rented mustang inside the service building, I was threatened, told that if I caused trouble I would be blackballed at 15,000 Ford/Lincoln dealership worldwide, I was lied to, and after four weeks of fighting an uphill battle with unresponsive people, I was sold a sub-standard replacement vehicle and basically told to get lost. The management personnel was despicable and treated me with the utmost disdain, Ed Howard never had the courage, the courtesy or the social grace of even sending me an apology. All I wanted was for them to make it right.This is the worst dealership with which I ever dealt.

Brough in vehicle for oil change and tire rotation and wheel balancing. Balancing was never done even though charged for as old weights were never replaced. Took vehicle back only to have tech scratch rims and advised service manager who has been there over 30 years and did nothing, Would never bring vehicle back again. Also you cannot contact Ed Howard to discuss this and a few other things. Guess hes to big to take the call or he must be busy writing that sports article that goes in his advertisements. No time for the customer.
