My son recommended the dealership and especially Michael Dejesus the sales person he had worked with in the past. Michael was wonderful as were all of the other people I interacted with at the dealership. Everything went smoothly during the purchase negotiations and they immediately addressed and corrected a couple of issues I noticed after test driving the vehicle. They readily met and lowered their price by an extra $100 to meet the price for an identical vehicle I found at a different dealership.

I never leave a car dealership thinking that I've gotten a great deal, but I believe that I got a fair deal at Fitzgerald. My salesman Drew was terrific, helpful but not pushy, and saw to it that all of my questions were answered. Kenny and Robert at the front desk were patient and helpful, as was Mark in finance. My wife bought a Santa Fe from Drew and Fitzgerald a few years back, and has been very pleased, which was a major reason why we went there for my car. Now that the purchase has been made, the quality of the service department and the durability of the car will determine if we come back for a future purchase.

My family has purchased 3 vehicles from this location (all Hyundais), and I myself have made 3 purchases (2 Subarus and now 1 Hyundai). Every time I leave with the satisfaction that I didn't get ripped off or taken advantage of. My friends ask me why I keep going here to get cars, and I just tell them it is the best experience. There is no aggressive behavior from the sales staff... with the exception of Bill Sherrill who is the worst and no one should ever buy from him. He was far too pushy and insulted my mother who was standing next to me. This was back in 2012 when I was buying my first Subaru, and I still remember it. Everyone else, though, is great, and Andrew Huon was no exception. He was efficient and friendly and knowledgeable about the vehicles.

I knew exactly what kind of Hyundai I wanted. Did all the research online, test drove the model at different dealerships but wanted to purchase the suv at Fitz since I have bought two high end models from the Fitz Toyota dealership in the past few years. Walked into dealership and asked for Richard, didn't need any assistance with car since I already am sold, just needed a good deal. He reluctantly sold me the car and the total time spent with him was 15 minutes. I ended up buying a high end SUV. He really didn't give me any service or guidance. What a deal for him! What about the customer?

We weighed our options between a used car and a brand new Hyundai Elantra and it just didn't make sense to buy used when for just a few more dollars, you can get a brand new Elantra. This car is incredible. Great price, great gas mileage and it loaded with a lot of frills that would cost you a lot more from a different manufacturer. Back in 2013 we bought a new Sonata from the same salesperson we just bought a 2017. Our experience was great the first time and equally as good this time. Glad to be back!

Called on the phone to purchase a car advertised on line. Spoke to the general manager and asked him if I came in at 830 pm to test drive and purchase a car would I be able to get out quickly. He said yes and that he'd have the car ready up front for me to test drive and that he'd have John Dutton help me out when I arrived. I had my trade in appraised and was out the door with my new car at about 930pm.

On my first visit with my new preowned Sonata, they did normal service and checked for a slow leak in one of the tires. They could not find the leak and I discovered a few days later that they left the tire they were testing way overinflated. On my 2nd visit, they did some extensive break work and I had checked the box to give me the old parts but that wasn't done and I didn't realize it until later. My confidence in these guys is low. Going to try another dealer for my next service.

This was my first experience buying a new car. I wasn't sure which car I wanted - A Tucson, A Santa Fe or a Forester. So I test drove all of them. The salesperson Drew Huon explained each car to me as I test drove them. He was legitimately knowledgeable about the cars and I actually learned a lot. I wasn't ready to buy that day, and he in no way pressured me. After I left Fitzgerald I went to drive a Jeep Cherokee and the salesmen told me absolutely nothing about the car as I drove it. I couldn't believe what a big difference in customer service and salesmanship. After deciding on the Santa Fe, I returned to Fitzgerald to talk turkey. I went in well-armed with information and knew which price I wanted to pay. I was willing to walk out if I didn't get that price. And guess what? They beat that price!! Drew and the manager Kevin were great to work with. I was treated with respect and I wasn't expecting that after hearing so many bad stories about car dealerships. Drew even stayed late, until all of my paperwork was completed, to get in the car with me and connect my bluetooth and make sure I understood how to use everything. I don't normally write reviews but my experience was so superior I just had to in this case. I cannot recommend the team at Fitzgerald Hyundai enough. Especially if you are a first time buyer and/or a female. I won't go anywhere else!

This is my third vehicle purchase from Fitzgerald Automotive in Gaithersburg, MD. As been my experience with my prior purchases, the buying process was straight forward and without issue. Qualifier: We did our first business with Fitzgerald in maybe 2001 or 2002. The Santa Fe I mention below just turned over 100,000 miles and runs like a sewing machine thanks, in part I'm sure, to regular routine service by Fitzgerald. I just found out about this site and can't neglect mentioning their excellent service.We've done business with Fitzgerald's Lakeforest dealership two times, and while I hope not to see them for anything but service for a long, long time, we'll be back the next time we need to buy either new or used.Our second visit to them was for a new vehicle after my wife had paid enough minivan dues to escape to something more fun to drive. She had her eye on a friend's Subaru, so we went to Fitzgerald because they sell Subaru's and because of an unbelievable earlier experience with their honesty. Natalie suggested that we take a look at a Hyundai Santa Fe in addition to the Subaru. We stopped at the Santa Fe and never made it to test drive the Subaru. I wasn't excited about buying a new car (and certainly not a Hyundai). Dave Ramsey would kill us and I hate turning loose of new-car money. I was impressed with how tightly constructed and rattle-free it was, my wife liked it a lot and the price was considerably below a comparable Subaru. Online Santa Fe reviews are really positive, so we decided to roll the dice. The dealership people were a pleasure to work with on this. Bill even took over for Natalie when she had a family emergency and we never missed a beat. Service is likewise exceptional; prompt, fair and with a really nice loyalty program. They also have a quiet customer lounge away from the TV room!I mentioned this being our second purchase from Fitzgerald. Our first was for a used van; the price was right for the vehicle in as good a condition as this one was and it was way easier to deal with a car seat in the van vs. our Jeep Cherokee. We had shaken on the deal and were in the finance office - usually the worst place on earth to find oneself. One of the salesmen came in and told the finance guy that the van had already been placed into the newspaper ad for the weekend's run, but for a thousand less than was on the sticker - and to take the thousand off of the price. That completely floored us; they didn't have to do that and we would have never been the wiser. That one act prompted us to look for the new vehicle there and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. I tell this story whenever I can because it's so indicative of their level of service and because this attitude is so very rare today. Five stars all the way.

Looked at cars and fell in love with the Hyundai Elantra. They gave me a good deal and went through with it. The sales team is amazing and friendly. I had issues with the service center. I left my car at the dealership overnight to get it detailed in the morning for undercoating. I called twice to confirm my appointment in the early morning to get it done. I later found out that I wasn't even in the system for the appointment. I left my car there over night and missed work for no reason. I left without my under coat because I was pressed for time (it was noon at this point and the service center opens at 7:30am). I rescheduled for another day.

We enjoyed the salesman, Chris Veres, but then had to endure two hours of pitches by an insurance guy (we already have insurance, all we had to do was call Geico to get the car covered), a woman trying to sell some kind of exterior paint coating, a strange fellow who made us wait while he smoked a cigarette before trying to help us get the car registered, etc.It was my impression that everyone but Chris -- maybe him too, don't know -- are freelancers, "independent contractors," who hang around the dealership trying to pick up business. None of them knew the least thing about getting a car insured, registered and license-plated in DC. It's like they'd never heard there was a big city nearby, Washington, with different rules, laws, regulations etc.Everything but chatting with Chris and actually driving the car home was pretty much intolerable. But the price was good, and the car is lovely. Just have to endure the hangers on.

My first car from Fitzgerald was a Chrysler. I kept it until it was falling apart. I brought a Mitsubishi next from a dealer in Rockville who I later found out charged me an extra $1000 which was not revealed to me when I brought the car. After a lot of hassle and letters to every BBB type of agency (Better Business Bureau, JD Powers, MD Attorney General, etc.), the $1000 was refunded. When I wanted a new car in 1996, I went back to Fitzgerald and brought a Hyundai Tiburon, after the Tiburon, I brought a Hyundai Tucson; my third car in a row from Fitzgerald was a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe which I still own. I went back to Fitzgerald for all my cars since 1996 because of the no hassle price; Ive received discounts on the car prices without negotiating. Their service has been excellent on all the cars I have brought. The personnel in the service department are always cheerful and have a good sense of humor and dont try to upsell on service, or parts. Im especially impressed with one of the service representatives, Mr. Josh Krumpach. Unless something drastically changes I will purchase every car in the future from this dealership.Rupert A. I purchased genesis from this location. Sales person was richard han. He told me that the price on online was included graduate and military incentives. But he told me that he will adjust price to online price. I trusted him; however, after I signed all papers, price was not same as he guaranteed ans even higher than $1200. he told me that he will fix the price and will resend me finalized documentation. I do not recommend this dealership.I purchased a used cpo genesis a few months ago. The salesperson John Dutton seems friendly and may do a good job gaining people's trust but he's just as bad as your stereotypical used car salesman with many tricks up his sleeve. I inquired about the vehicle and before I got there. He had the engine running and a hanging dealer tag covering a big scratch in the back bumper. This literally covered up the scratch and prevented me from hearing the loud tick from the transmission when shifting without the car fully warmed up. He didn't seem to be completely knowledgeable in Hyundais but gave answers to my questions that were not accurate (more to come on this in a bit).The dealership also makes a mockery of the cpo program. The check list mentions a whole host of things regarding the condition of the interior, exterior, and mechanical, but you have to wonder what kind of standards they truly hold themselves to. Regardless, if you have decent people you're doing business with, you expect them to be fair, have common sense, and treat you with respect. The dealership's two big flaws were the following:- Emissions testing. He told me the car had passed MD emissions which I knew was transferable to my state of Virginia. This means I would not have had to get and pay for emissions myself. A few days before the temporary tag expired I got an email from the title clerk saying I need to send her emissions certification. I responded saying that must be a mistake and at the end they wound up admitting they made a mistake in telling me the car had passed emissions. I told them I"ll just go get it done myself but they need to reimburse me for the cost. A couple of the managers got involved but there was no success in getting them to pay for their mistake.- Poor job in removing old window tint. When I took the car into a local tint shop I was told a poor job removing the old tint and glue, and that they would have to charge extra to remove the old glue first. First of all, you have to question the quality control of their cpo cars if a car in this condition is made available for sale. Secondly, I respectfully informed the dealer of this and asked to be reimbursed for this extra cost but they wouldn't budge on this, either, and instead invited me to use my personal time to take a 60 mile round trip drive for them to fix their mistake.There were a few other issues with this transaction but the takeaway of this story is i gave them a golden opportunity to very easily and economically make up for their mistakes. Them reimbursing me $100 or so would've won themselves a fan and a repeat customer (the cars in our household tend to be replaced every 4 to 6 years). But they did not want to make their wrongs right. My request was out of principle as that $100 is not enough for even two tanks of gas. This dealership, on the other hand, lacks the most basic principle of treating their customers with fairness.

We were seeking to replace our leased 2011 Hyundai Sonata, and Robert Hess and Dan McCarthy both worked with us to find a good fit. Rob worked with me through a series of emails to find out what we were looking for. Although Hyundai no longer offers a GLS model with navigation and premium audio, which our 2011 model had, Rob was able to find a 2013 Sonata Limited with all the features we wanted (and several we didn't really have on our list of "must-haves") and at a lease price that was very reasonable. These two representatives did not stop until we had found the car we finally leased, and Dan took us through the leasing process on Saturday morning in fewer than two hours. We love our new Sonata and appreciate the fine attention we got from Rob and Dan. If they are still with Fitzgerald Hyundai in three years, they will definitely see us again!

Upon entering the dealership, myself and family had to go to the dealer desk in order to get helped. This is ok but several employees walking around never even had the courtesy to say hello. Upon being assigned a salesperson, Frances Bezila, the process went pretty well. Frances is relatively new, however, she listened to what we were interested in, answered our questions and gave us her full attention quickly and cheerfully. She was honest about being new and indicated if she didn't know an answer she would get it for us. The manager was less appealing. Not because we didn't get our way when asking if there was any room for price negotiation but because I felt he had a tone which indicated he was "handling" us like he has propbably done, so many times before, with others. This to me was slightly demeaning. After choosing a vehicle, the paperwork process was easy and quick enough. The finance manager knew his job well and was quick and clear with all the paperwork. Frances remained attentive the entire time and I would highly recommend her to anyone ready to purchase a new Hyundai.

Of the dealerships I visited in Gaithersburg, Annapolis, and Columbia, Fitzgerald Auto was the most welcoming. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision quickly, and I was not constantly bothered with sales calls and emails like I was from other dealerships. Everyone at the dealer was friendly, and Dan McCarthy made the test driving and shopping experience simple and fun.I did not end up purchasing a new vehicle, so I can't comment on the pricing or service, but the pre-purchase shopping experience was much more enjoyable than the other Hyundai (and Mitsubishi) dealers that I visited.

The processs was very efficient until it came time for the financial stuff because they only had one person from the department in at that time. Spoke with Gary Grace on a purchase of a 2013 Hyundai Tucson. I was trading in My 2007 Jeep Wrangler that I had purchased 5 years prior from Fitzgerald Auto. After taking a test drive, Gary had me speak with Danny Rosenfeld when I came back from the test drive due to his appointment that had showed. This made me feel that I was going to be taken care of no matter what and that I was not just going to be placed aside in a waiting room and forgotten. Danny Rosenfeld was a joy to work with. He spent time with me going over what was available and the time period I would be looking at to receive my Tucson (24 hour delivery). The next day, Danny took time out and personally showed me the Tucson and it was exactly what I was looking for. From the time period of walking in speaking with Gary Grace and Danny Rosenfeld, I never felt any pressure of purchasing something that I did not want (like most dealers do). With the trade in value of my 07 Jeep, to be able to purchase a 2013 Hyundai Tucson, I was very satisfied with the way Danny Rosenfeld worked with me. My wife and I just purchased a Sonata from Fitzgerald and Thomas Barker the week before. While we were in the dealership finishing that deal, I noticed the Santa Fe in the showroom. A few days later, and after some homework on my part, I talked to Thomas Barker about the specific Santa Fe that I wanted. Unfortunately, through my online investigations, I didn't think there were any in the area that met my criteria. I thought I would have to wait until the next shipment from the factory to get what I wanted.That's when Thomas and the Fitzgerald team impressed me. They were able to find exactly the vehicle I wanted, but it was near the Virginia/North Carolina border. They were able to work out a complicated multi-dealer trade to get the vehicle up to Maryland and ready for sale to me.That's when they continued to impress me. Their "internet" and "value" prices were spot on with what I expected to pay. Their offer for my trade in exceeded my expectations. And, of course, the entire transaction was friendly and low-pressure. Thomas went over and above to help us out with this vehicle. Of course, we expected that, given our experience with him the prior week buying the Sonata. Sam in the finance office was very pleasant to deal with, again without any pressure for add-ons that we did not want. Finally, when Thomas had to check in on another client a second salesman worked with me on the Santa Fe features, and he and Thomas brought out some cleaning materials to take care of a few scuffs on the vehicle.All in all, this was a very satisfying auto buying experience. Over the years, we have purchased 5 Hyundai's, the past three have been from Fitzgerald in Gaithersburg Hyundai. For this recent purchase we again looked online...checked multiple dealerships and found a varying prices. Antwerpen Hyundai had prices that were $1,000 less than any other dealer....only to find out the price did not include freight. Other dealers were called and wanted you to "come by and take a look"....really? do they not live in this metro area....getting anywhere in the evening is a pain, including just getting home.As we looked online, Fitz had their Internet pricing listed, which is still the best pricing available. The only thing to add to the price is tax+tags+title. I called Fitz, talked with Thomas Barker, he called back shortly thereafter and gave me an out the door price, not including any rebates. Simple....why should this be a difficult process. Now if you're a masochist, and enjoy wasting hours of your time to squeeze another couple hundred dollars out of a dealership, playing one against the other....have at it.Financing: If you have your own financing, you can use that...if not Hyundai Motor Finance will be offered by the dealer, and is a good deal...nothing shady about it.Every dealer will want to sell you add-on packages, totally up to you...we didn't want any, and there was no added pressure to by any.Summary...do your research, check your pricing, make sure it includes all extra's except tax/tags/title. Once you do, you should find Fitz offers the best pricing with a simple purchase process.

This is my third purchase from the guys over at Fitzgerald Lakeforest Hyundai. Although I was considering a different brand of vehicle this go round, I decided that the dealership and how you will be treated after the sale is just as important as the car itself. I have no regrets about buying another Hyundai, as they really stand behind their promise of quality when push comes to shove. I feel like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Ford, Chevy, etc don't do that. I've bought many cars from various dealerships over the years, (even worked for a dealer), and the way Fitzgerald operates their business just makes sense. They make the buying process easy and painless and advocate for their clients after the sale (if need be). The sales managers behind the desk are focused on making sure you get exactly what you want as far as payments and terms. No shadyness like I've experienced at other dealers.

The sales rep we had, Lincoln Wells, and his sales manager, Ed Zayas, couldn't have been more helpful and courteous. They were honest and straightforward--not pushy in the least. They told us what we needed to know and answered all of our questions. We especially liked the fact the Fitzgerald posts it prices on the internet and the prices they offer are more than competitive--they even offer a 150 percent price match if you find a better deal. They also gave us a good price on our trade in. The rest of the sales team that we worked with was also very helpful and professional. We would highly recommend them.

The people were very friendly, no one pushed too hard for a sale. It was a busy day, so my salesman had to help someone else, but made sure I was taken care of by others and checked back. I hate spending money, so any price seems high, but I feel it was a fair price for what I got. Could probably have been a little more knowledgeable about the car I specifically wanted, but was willing to find the answer if he didn't know it. I would probably go back in the future if I buy a car model sold by this location.

This is my second purchase from the Fitzgerald Automotive Group within the last 6 months. The first was a new Toyota for me and this current purchase was for 2003 Hyundai for my teenage daughter. Both purchases proved to be very painless and over all I felt I got a very good deal in a very short period of time. I would definitely recommend this dealership and I would absolutely buy another vehicle from them in the future. They are a fixed sales price dealership. If you do your research before going, I think you'll find their pricing is very fair without the painful back and forth from other dealerships. The salesman who assisted me with this latest transaction is Dan McCarthy. He was very patient as I went through the car from top to bottom. When I did identify a slight mechanical problem he immediately got approval from the sales manager to repair the issue. I would recommend Dan as well.

My wife and I were in the market for a mid-sized SUV, and ended up selecting the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe. Initially, we were not expecting the Santa Fe to be a real contender for our purchase but after a test drive this car became the #1 choice. Its quality and comfort surprised us, so off we went to start a deal.I contacted the Internet Sales department at Fitzgerald, and was hooked up with Thomas Barker. He was extremely prompt in his email responses, and was always very clear on pricing. He provided a complete breakdown (line by line) of the pricing on the car, and was willing to match pricing offered from the competition. In dealing with other internet departments, they were all very hesitant to provide such a detailed breakdown and would usually respond with, "when can you come in?" That's the whole beauty of Internet Sales, I DON'T WANT TO COME IN UNTIL I'M SIGNING PAPERWORK!! After receiving several quotes, I provided the lowest offered price to Thomas, and Fitzgerald matched it without hesitation. In addition, they offered a fair price on our "thoroughly loved" car, so that sealed the deal. While they did not have the exact model in stock my wife wanted, they promptly set out to reserve the next incoming model. We were initially expecting 2 weeks before delivery, and the car came in in 1 week! The paperwork and final steps were very laid back, and no real strong pressure on warranties, etc. We politely declined, and were on our way with our new car. We also interacted with Spencer Cummings (Sales Manager), who was very straight forward and polite. I have been around the car business my entire life as a result of my father's career, and I can honestly say I was never once was skeptical of what Spencer or Thomas was saying. They were very straight forward and honest, which is a rarity in most dealerships. Not once did I feel pressured to commit to a deal, or get the "this offer expires today" nonsense. I respect that greatly, and it made my wife and I very relaxed. I would highly recommend Fitzgerald Hyundai and specifically Thomas to any friend, family or acquaintance. As a matter of fact, family is how we came to Fitzgerald as my in-laws purchased 2 cars from them in the past 2 years. If you are looking for a dealership and staff to take the intimidation and stress out of car buying, look no further than Fitzgerald Hyundai. I had been considering a used car but decided to check on getting a new car just to see what kind of deal i could get. I used some website (cant remember) to get a quote over the internet. Andrew responded quickly and referred me to their website fitzmall.com to check out their inventory. I was surprised how low the prices were on the Sonatas (almost 4k below sticker) and suspected a catch (or 2 or 3 lol) but decided to go a check it out. In the end my drive out prices with tax and everything was $1500 below the sticker price. Hard to beat that. The advertised prices were legit but you had to finance through them to get the advertised price. That was fine with me since they gave me 2.9% for 60 months.Andrew is an upbeat young guy who knows the cars well. Easy to work with. After the purchase he gave me a thorough walk through to explain all of the car's features. When we were walking through the lot he mentioned that their prices go down the longer a car stays on the lot. I though this was odd and check their inventory a couple of days after my purchse. Sure enough the prices on the cars i was looking at were a little lower. All in all it couldn't have gone better for me.

My wife and I went to Fitzgerald Hyundai to look at a Sonata and was greeted by Dan McCarthy. He was the friendliest salesman we ever had, not pushy, but extremely helpful. After taking us for a test drive in a hybrid, we told him we were going to check on a Toyota Camry. We came back and decided on a 2013 Sonata. He really explained the differences between the hybrid and the non-hybrid and the costs. When we decided on the non-hybrid, he clearly explained the differences in the various packages, Then he let us test drive a Sonata SE limited and was just so informative and friendly. We have bought many cars, but Dan was definitely the best. We were there until almost 8pm finalizing the paperwork and drove home with a new car at what we believe was a very fair and affordable price! Arthur Hamlet was my salesman when I purchased my Sonata. Mr. Hamlet was extremely knowledgable about all aspects of the vehicle and everything pertaining to the purchase. I am every detailed oriented and asks lots of questions. I really didn't have many questions because of how informative Mr. Hamlet was. I felt that he could have handled the financial portion also. I live in NJ but drove all the way to Maryland to purchase my vehicle because I was confident and very pleased with how I was treated. Thomas Barker worked mostly with my father and he is a hard man to please. Thomas was so accommodating and friendly. He wasn't pushy or annoyingly aggressive like some salesmen. This dealer is great in customer service. I was there for good used car and I met John, a friendly sale man, and he explained patiently about a few cars I liked there. He even compare and advice me for what type of car I should use. Finally I choose a hyundai sonata 2006, with a great deal of prize. I would 100% advice if you want to buy a new or used car this is the place you sould visit first. I believe the friendly John is always waiting for you there.

The team at Fitzgerald, Danny Rosenfeld and Thomas Barker provided excellent service. I could not have asked for anything more. I can't say enough about the professionalism of these two gentlemen. Danny and Thomas had our car prepped and ready to drive away when we arrived. The only thing that we had to do was sign the papers. It was a very smooth transaction. Their subsequent customer service (deer accident shortly after our purchase) was typical of them but totally unexpected and gratefully appreciated. FYI - we have purchased our last 8 cars from Fitzgerald Hyundai and we will go back to them for our next 8.

Looking for Hyundai Sonata. I've always been frustrated by the games involved in trying to find out how much a car costs, so I appreciated Fitzgerald's policy of putting the actual price I could expect to pay on their website - my calculation (after I figured tax, tags and dealer prep)ended up being within $100 of the final price. Spoke w/ Ed Zayas on the phone, who assured me that the price he was giving me was valid, and put it in writing via email. So I went in, met Ed, and discovered that the car I wanted had been sold while I was on my way - he'd called my house to try to get me, but I was already on my way. Turned me over to Thomas Barker, who continued working with me to find a suitable substitute. After looking at four or five other cars in the same price range, I settled on two Sonatas that were exactly the same price with exactly the same features/options as my preferred one, just different colors. I ended up picking one of them (ruby red w/ beige leather interior, vs. my preferred black w/beige).Mr. Barker was courteous, friendly, good-humored, and straightforward. A couple of times, I asked him to explain certain details, and when he wasn't sure, he didn't try to bluff me or lie - he went and got the answer or got someone else to come over and explain the answer (regarding financing). A couple of times, he had to leave the dealership on other business, and both times handed me off to other personnel, explaining exactly what our situation and status were.All in all, about as low-pressure a sales experience as I could expect from a car dealership. Unlikely I'll bring my car in to be serviced there, as I live about 45 minutes away when traffic ISN'T fouled up, but I'd definitely shop there again.

We had a really hard time locating this car and a really hard time working with other dealerships in Northern Virginia before we came to Maryland's Fitzgerald Lakeforest Hyundai. Thomas checked to make sure that they had exactly what we were looking for before we made the drive out from Virginia to Maryland and when we pulled up to park, he already had the car outside ready for us to take a look. He showed us everything on the car, and matched the price of other places we looked. After going through financing, We were able to go home with the exact car we wanted and didn't have to compromise. They have great pricing and great no pressure sales people, like John Dutton, who just sold us a 2013 Sonata Ltd.I used to dread shopping for a car, with the "haggle game" everyone else plays when they are pricing the car. My wife spent 17 hours at a dealer once, negotiating with a dealer, only to find out the sticker price for the very same car at Fitzmall was considerably lower. we have not been to another dealer in the past 12 years.

So far my transaction with Fitzgerald Automall Lakeforest has been outstanding. Thomas Barker has been on top of communications and made me feel like I had five star service even though I was buying a used car. I ended up buying a much nicer car than what I initially came in to look at and Thomas was flexible and dependable throughout the transaction. He was even completely understanding when I changed my mind late in my shopping process to purchase the much nicer and more dependable vehicle for just a little bit more money. He offered onsite financing but never pressured me to try their financing since I had a credit union preapproval. I've shopped at other dealers and he definitely was the most attentive without making me feel like he was trying to make a sale. From the moment we first shook hands until now he has shown me honor, honesty and integrity. I'm looking forward to shopping with Thomas again next year when it's time to buy a used car for my younger daughter and will certainly come to Thomas first when I'm ready for a new car for myself. I went to this dealership twice in one month and they were amazing. This was my first time ever purchasing a car so I had a lot of questions. William was amazing and answered all my questions in ways that I could understand, not being an experienced car buyer. The second time I came back was due to me needing a new vehicle because I totaled my other one. They were just as good to me as they were the first time! First thing I have to say is honest. I walked into the dealership after being to a few other places, and I met John. He seemed really nice and we start talking about what I was looking for... until he saw my car. I had a 2004 Subaru Baja, which turned out to be a semi-rare car, but I had no idea. He explained to me about my car's worth, completely baffling me with his sincerity. I came in feeling like I was going to be tricked in someway, and left feeling very self assured. He also was able to shoot the breeze with me about things other than cars, and it felt like I was just having lunch with an old friend. After our conversation, I ended up selling my car to someone else, but I knew I was coming back to buy a car from him. He is young, and I think his youth really gives him a different approach when trying to sell cars. I felt like I was being helped, rather than forced into making a decision. I cannot recommend him enough.

This was by far my most pleasurable experience I have had purchasing a new car. I was able to negotiate price, finance, and many other options through email and fax. I spoke to my salesman Thomas Barker by phone for additional questions which required a bit more detail. As a women buyer, I did not feel pressure to close my deal nor did I receive the unwanted phone calls or emails. Thomas Barker was however very prompt to return my calls and assured me that the verbal contract we discussed would be the same as the paperwork he would produce when and if I wanted to finalize the purchase.When I chose to buy my new 21012 Sonata, the paper work was exactly as we discussed with no hidden fees or surprises. Mr. Cummings, who is the Sales Manager, walked over and explained the finance portion of the purchase and answered all my questions in a very professional manner and made it easy to understand. Because of a prior appointment, Mr. Moss turned me over to Mr. DeJesus when he had to leave. My DeJesus picked up the ball and scored high marks. I had the fortune (or perhaps misfortune) to by two Hyundai Sonatas within a years time. The first was a miserable experience, but the 2nd (with Fitzgerald Hyundai) could not have gone smoother! Having had a bad experience with a dealer that shall go unnamed (I believe they are in College Park ), I kept waiting for something to go wrong with Fitzgerald, but it didnt. I was treated very well, and there was absolutely no surprises!My Ex (another story in itself) loves her Sonata much better than the 1st, and we are so happy that if she ever needs to can have it serviced just around the corner. We even got a far better deal (and I can prove it), and no mandatory dealer installed options (I mean are we idiots) this time.So, my hats off to GM Danny Rosenfeld, our sales agent Author Hamet, and Archie who went over every inch of the car with us, Brenda who did the paperwork, and of course Sponsor who helped with the coordination. I hope I dont need another car for a while again, but if I do, and its a Hyundai, it does not matter that I now live in Virginia, Im trekking back to MD to see them at Fitzgerald!

I brought my Kia in to Fitzgerald as I had several previous bad experiences with the local Kia service department. I had previously purchased from Fitzgerald, and had a very pleasant experience. I walked in on a Monday morning with no appointment, and they were quick to assist me and get me on my way. I left my car for service for the day, but received a phone call before lunch that my car was ready for pickup. Everyone was extremely friendly, and the price was very reasonable! I went in for routine service, and waited for my car to be ready. Justin explained that my brakes were OK for some short, local driving, but should be replaced soon. I told him I would be traveling soon, and driving through mountains. He recommended replacing the brakes, which I agreed to. He kept me informed of what was going on at all stages of the service, what my options were, the time and cost involved. At the end, he handed me back a car cleaner than when I brought it in. I have always received excellent service at this facility; repairs are done right the first time, and the cost is comparable to other shops in the area.

This Santa Fe purchase was our second Fitzgerald experience. We came in looking for a Subaru and Natalie suggested we look at the Hyundai Santa Fe as well. I wasn't excited about buying a new car )and certainly not a Hyundai), but my wife had her eye on a friend's Subaru. I was impressed with how tightly constructed and rattle-free it was, my wife liked it a lot and the price was considerably below a comparable Subaru. Online Santa Fe reviews are really positive, so we decided to roll the dice. The dealership people were a pleasure to work with on this second purchase from them. Service is likewise exceptional; prompt, fair and with a really nice loyalty program. They also have a quiet customer lounge away from the TV room!I mentioned this being our second purchase from Fitzgerald. Our first was for a used van; the price was right for the vehicle in as good a condition as this one was and it was way easier to deal with a car seat in the van vs. the Jeep Cherokee. We had shaken on the deal and were in the finance office - usually the worst place on earth to find oneself. One of the salesmen came in and told the finance guy that the van had already been placed into the newspaper ad for the weekend's run, but for a thousand less than was on the sticker - and to take the thousand off of the price. That completely floored us; they didn't have to do that and we would have never been the wiser. That one act prompted us to look for the new vehivle there and we couldn't have been happier with the experience.

I when to FitzMall in Gaitersburg first because I had bought a car there before. It was a Hyundai Azera. This time I was looking for the new hybrid, Sonata Hybrid. I used the FitzMall inventory selector and found what I was looking for. I contacted FitzMall and that's when I connected with JJ Trenholm. JJ was very helpful, answering my questions, and staying in contact. During one visit, JJ was busy with another client, but made sure that one of the other sales associates showed me the Sonata and got me out for a test drive. While I was not ready to purchase that day, and I was unable to speak directly with JJ, I was taken care of all the same.Later, when I was closer to my purchase, JJ was able to spend several hours with me test driving several different [model] cars. After that I came in with my wife in the evening (Halloween night) and JJ again took us out for a test drive (this time my wife) and being satisfied we completed our purchase of a new 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid (Premium Package). We're very pleased with everyone, especially JJ, at Fitzgerald Gaithersburg. Everyone was professional, friendly, and explained every detail as the process unfolded. Then JJ explained all the items on the dashboard, buttons on steering wheel (12), and how to work the center console buttons (~20) & touch screen interfaces [plural] (I lost count). Finally, we "paired" my cell phone. My head was swimming, but I was good to go. We filled the gas tank, and I was on my way.As I drove home, I called my wife - WITH THE CAR - hehe. *** Update 11/2011 **** Dealership heard our concerns and addressed them. Thankyou Fitzgerald Hyundai and General Manager Danny Rosenfeld. Above ratings updated. ************************Our complaint is with Fitzgerald Hyundai for the extremely poor service due to repeated lies and excessive delays to repair our 3 month old Hyundai Sonata following an accident. The Bodyshop representative said they would take good care of us, would check the breaking system, and based on his estimates said it to be a weeks worth of work. In the end, this was far from the case, after 37 days we incurred a $504 dollar rental car bill for overages, and paid $502/mo on a car we did not have use of. The most common explanation we got was that the airbag harnesses had to be ordered (which was known from day one) and we were told they were not ordered until at least a week into the repair, and the delay to receive them was over 3 weeks. We were later told from the body shop that they had to come from overseas. Then we were told they had to be custom made overseas. All the while we kept reminding them to do a thorough analysis of the brakes due to the belief they were the cause of the accident. They repeatedly assured us that they were taking care of this. After over 4 weeks they said they were having the brakes looked into (and had finally received the parts). In fact they asked we delay the pickup for a day just to ensure they had gone over the brakes thoroughly. Finally the car is picked up. My Ex had been telling them and telling them about the overages of the rental for a while, and they suggested she bring in the bill and ask for some consideration. I took the day off and took the bill to the body shop manager John Sartori personally, and then later to the dealership General Manager Danny Rosenfeld. John had said they had submitted a request to Hyundai for some consideration as a result in the delays to getting her car on the road. I too saw this is unacceptable that Hyundai requires these parts to be replaced to the tune of several thousand dollars when an airbag is deployed, but that the do not keep them in inventory locally, or even in the USA! They said they would get back to me probably on Monday.A week went by without any contact. Finally I called and was told they had been researching the situation and several managers met specifically on my situation. Danny was disturbed that I had not gotten a call back from either the service or bodyshop manager especially after he was told it would be done a specific time. I called and spoke to John , and what I heard that was even more unacceptable was the discovery that they had no justification to ask consideration of Hyundai because in reality the parts were ordered and arrived in a couple days!!!! When asked what was done for each of the 37 days if the parts were not the delay. The response I got was that it went back and forth from the body shop and service, but no ones accounting system could pinpoint what was done when. I was offered a measly $170 to just go away. I declined, and requested my request for refunds be elevated. John took the request and said he or someone would get right back to me. From his tone that sounded like within an hour or two. Here it is another week has gone by, and still Im getting the runaround. My ex is currently having job problems, and Hyundai stuck her with all this rental overage ,and to make matters worse, she had to make $504 month payments on a car that presumably just sat at the dealer.Danny Rosenfeld seemed genuinely concerned over our ordeal and seemed to want to make it right, but it would seem that the bodyshop and service Managers have only one thing on their minds, and thats their bottom line. Oh yes, did I mention they have absolutely no record of ever checking the brakes, or anyone who can vouch for having done a diagnostic? Summary: I have not bought a car here, and have no negative things to say about the sales group. Its the Service and BodyShop that I believe that despite a $12,000 repair do not put the customer first (or 2nd, third, or fourth for that matter). Get your repairs done elsewhere.

I have been to many dealerships, but I must say this was the BEST experience that I have ever had. Spencer was excellent in helping me to make discussions as a manager, Erol the most worderful car salesman I have ever had and Robert closed the deal, paperwork went easy and smooth. Also the attendant Michael Brown was also very helpful with helping me to transfer from car to car. I love my car, used but in very good condition. Althought I fell like I was spending a lum of money, but these guys really eased the pain. Kodos to Fitzgeral auto I will refer this dealership ship to any other. They also talked to me about the condition of my car and would not let me leave without a good choice. These guys were funny but very professional. My auto shop teacher spoke highly of them (John Maher). The credit union spoke highly (Dave Kelleher). Thank You for the experience.

I rate "Customer Service" as only "Good" because I could not follow some of the info I was after via email. However, meeting Rob was an excellent experience: extremely thorough, answered questions clearly, etc. Rob was super friendly without getting off track and wasting time; he was able to make it a casual meeting and still get everything done. Overall experience with Rob was excellent--we will definitely go back to him personally when we need our next car. The price was expected, no surprises.

I brought my white Sonata in to have the radio replaced. I received a loaner car while the service was being performed. The work was peformed and my Sonata was washed. However, when I returned home, I noticed black scuff marks on the passenger, left quarter panel. The next morning I called Justin expressing my concern ove rthe scuff marks. Justin asked me when it would be convenient for me to bring it back. I told him I could be there within 30 min. When I got there, Justin immediately took the car back to have it cleaned, buffed, and made to look like new. His professionalism was greatly appreciated.

I bought my Hyndai at this dealership and and I dearly love it...AND I got a great deal!! So of course I returned for service and have not been disappointed yet! The service writers are excellent... my favorites are two brothers Josh K. (sorry, I can't spell the last name...but who cares, he always remembers me and MY name!) and his older brother, (I have dealt with Josh the past 2 times) are friendly, efficient, professional, knowledgeable, very courteous, and always tell me up front how much the service will cost so I can RELAX... because I know there will be no surprises. If I choose to wait, I am kept always kept informed of my car's progress. While waiting snacks and water(bottled COLD) were passed around (REALLY! AWESOME! Vending machines were available but this was the same mix for FREE and offered in a basket! What hospitality...like a fancy hotel!) making the wait seem MUCH shorter and, I must say, most welcome. A very modern large flat-screen TV carried news/entertainment programming while magazines were available with plenty of OVER-SIZED seating everywhere making plus-sized folks like me feel much more at ease. Clean, well-stocked restrooms (yes, one for each gender) right in the waiting area were also a very thoughtful touch. My car was done in the expected amount of time. It was done right. It was washed, vacuumed, and waxed. I am one HAPPY CAMPER. You bet I am coming back to Fitzgerald's Hyndai for service on my car because they are the BEST!and so is Josh K. and his brother. Sorry I can't spell fellas...

I hate the car buying process. I tend to compare shop. I came to Fitzgerald and then went to two other dealerships, only to come right back. The staff here are phenomenal. They put everything out there and I didn't feel like I was being haggled like at some other places. Arthur made the car buying process the easiest I have ever had (this is my fourth car). He even made my family feel like his own, particularly when my son was getting antsy! Arthur made sure to find the exact vehicle I wanted, white with tan interior. I would highly recommend this dealership AND Arthur to anyone.

Best car buying experience ever! Dealer price was very competitive and made me want to drive 50 miles to see if it truly was for real. The dark blue Elantra they had was gorgeous. Robert Hess dealt with us over the Internet and was fast, direct, and very helpful. He greeted the family as if he was showing off this cool car to his friends, immediately setting everyone at ease. I continued to keep my guard up until the final price came in. Can you believe there were no surprises and everything was as we agreed. And the paperwork was fast as well. Very satisfied customer. Robert Hess is the best! I contacted Robert via e-mail regarding purchasing my new Hyundai. He sent me two follow-up e-mails and was very nice when I spoke with him over the phone. I remembered him, called him, he made arrangements to get the car I wanted in his lot within an hour, and that night I drove home with my car. Rob was never pushy and was genuinely nice, which is important to me as I never want to feel like a salesperson is taking advantage of me. Rob and the man who did the financing (so sorry I don't remember his name)stayed late and worked everything out so that I left with the car. They were both kind and honest which I deeply appreciate, especially having a horrible experience at another dealership closer to my home(which I actually need to write a review about...). Driving from DC to Gaithersburg to purchase my car from Rob was definitely worth the ride! As a hybrid owner he understands my car and gave me some tips to help get the most out of my car. I am very happy with my purchase and will be back when it's time to purchase another Hyundai.

I have bought from Fitzgerald in the past (twice). I have had nothing but good experiences thus far. When my family was looking for a new Hyundai, without much investigating Fitzgerald seemed to have the best price on the vehicle we were looking for. After digging a little deeper, I uncovered a number of dealerships that "appeared" to have better prices than Fitzgerald. Just as the salesman suggested, MOST of these competitors were hiding something. (multiple rebates built into prices, excluding other items like freight, etc). However, when I located one dealership that was able to beat Fitzgerald's prices, I was treated as if I had gone crazy. Sales manager and sales person assured me that this price couldn't be possible. Had I not actually driven out to the other dealership to find out, I would have over paid for my car by almost $2000. Needless to say, I purchased the same car from the other dealership, and will definitely bring my business there first in the future. The Fitzgerald salesman was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and an overall great guy. I would have preferred to give him my business. However, something rubbed me the wrong way when I located a better price for the same car, and Fitzgerald dismissed it as some sort of anomaly (rather than honoring their price match guarantee). I understand that they are in the business of making money. But when a savvy customer locates a better price, the dealership should man up and honor their word, rather than dismiss the deal as nonsense.

I bought my 2012 Sonata from this dealership and the salesman (Mr. Hess) was so knowledgeable and friendly! He took the time to explain all the features of the car - inside and out. He spent as much as I needed. The sales manager (Chip Buddin) was very helpful with my trade and was around to help unload veihcle when the time came. Both salesmen were very professional, kind, courteous. The vehicle was spotless and ready when I was done with financing, which took no time at all. Friendly sales consultants, even when original salesman was not there others stepped in the assist with the sale. No haggle, no pressure, reasonable prices. We had a problem with the speaker a few weeks after the sale, they provided a loaner car while it was being fixed and they were under no obligation to do so. Very much appreciated!

We wanted a used Hyundai Sonata/Elantra, 2010 model in good condition with Hyundai's warranty.We came in not sure if this was the right place to finalize our deal, since we already had Enterprise Dealership offer us an excellent trade in value for our used car "to get out business today". Erol was our sales person at Fitsgerald, Gaithsburg, and he was kind and patient, and showed us the cars they had. We immediately noticed that the prices that Fitzgerald put up were not "marked up" and then negotiated down. Instead, they had put up the correct values of the car. One thing that initially bothered us was that FITZG was not matching the price of the trade in value of our old car with Enterprise. Instead they gave us what was the correct value of the car. We left the dealer and were trying to weigh our options, if to go back to Enterprise. However, on an analysis we realized that we were not only getting a cheaper deal but also a more reliable car (with 10 year/100000 miles warranty + 5 year bumper to bumper). We also noticed that other dealerships were advertising "Hyundai Certified" cars, but when you went there, they would charge you 600 $ additionally to do the certification!!!In summary, I must say that Fitzgerald offered us a great car, for excellent price (with NO HIDDEN COSTS) and an excellent warranty. Not only that Erol, who was our sales person was very informed, and came out as honest and straightforward in the dealings. Matt made our paperwork very smooth, and was very patient in answering all our queries. We are very happy with the service we received from Erol and Matt. Overall, I would highly recommend anyone buying a car to try Fitzgerald first.

This the third car we have purchased from Fitzgerld Hyundai in Gaithersburg and every experiance has been better than the last. Arthur has always found us (we have 3 kids) the right car. When it comes to the financing and the price then he turns to Danny. We have ad some issues in the past but Danny works everything out better than we could every expect. I will send all my family and friends to see them. We have shopped them against other dealers on price but have found them to allways be staraight forward and at first thought some were a little cheeper,however after you add back the extra freight charge or the processing fee and dealer added packages at some stores they always have the best price.

When we couldn't find the car we wanted in Annapolis,where we live, Fitzgerald got us the car the next day! The other dealer emailed us 2 days later hoping one would be on their next truck! A friendly, fun, positive atmosphere was great, along with others besides the sales person (managers? at the front desk)jumping in to get us finished and on the way home at the end of the deal which ended up late at night. No one complained that it was 9 pm and they wanted to go home--nice way to do business as far as we were concerned since we went on our way with our new car--the one we wanted with want we wanted on it and didn't have to wait a week or more as told to us by the local dealer. Being in sales, we know!!! when a customer inquires--there is an interest--when you get them what they want fast--they usually purchase. Fitzgerald did that. Thus, more happy customers! (Our friend had suggested we use this dealer since she had a few times with happy results so we drove to the dealership even tho we could practically walk to the local one.)
