The initial contact with the dealership was impressive. The buying process was not what I like but somewhat typical of dealerships. I did not feel I could bargain effectively. It was kind of a take it or leave it attitude until I left then within minutes a better offer was phoned to me. The warranty information was not given to me until the time of delivery which did not give me time to think it over, I don't care for high pressure sales. I still felt there could have been a better bargaining process. When the vehicle was delivered the detailing left a lot to be desired. The bed liner was still dirty with rust particles and dirt in it. The seats still had spots on them and the carpet didn't look like it had been cleaned. The door pockets had dirt particles in them with the glossy detail coating just spread on top of them. I did talk to the dealership about this and they offered to have me make an appointment sometime to have it cleaned better but I declined due to time constraints. This should have been done originally. Also the salesman told me my Sirius trial would start when I called Sirius. I waited two weeks because I was out of town and not using the vehicle, when I called Sirius I was informed the trial started on delivery and I should have called upon delivery, so I lost two free weeks. It has now been 3 weeks and I still do not have my memorandum title and the phone call I made this morning to the dealership has no yet been returned. I would only recommending this dealer to friends with reservations to check the vehicle over better than I did on delivery.

Every issue I've ever had with my car, previously a Pontiac Grand Prix and now a Chevy Equinox, the service department (notably Russ, Steve and Michelle) has been very accommodating, friendly and professional in my dealings with them. Oftentimes they've taken my car into service immediately after I report the issue. They've ensured I didn't have to pay a cent for repairs, since my current car is still under warranty. And one time, when they made a mistake in fixing the wrong door latch on my Pontiac, they repaired the right one at no extra cost. So I basically received a free door latch. I would highly recommend Foster to anyone buying a car and, especially, if they need a vehicle fixed. A standout business in the Sandusky area.

Bought a 2015 Chevy Cruze recently from Foster Chevrolet. John Thompson in Sales did an excellent job and moved through the process quickly, going out of his way to make it a good experience. Had a little problem with the voice recognition and called the service department; called in the after noon and Chis told me to bring it right in and he would look at it. He determined it needed four internet updates and Chuc (he tells me with no k) did the updates that same afternoon. I have always used Fosters ever since my first new car a 2004 Cadillac that they still maintain, a wonderful car. Russ and Steve have been top shelf in service too. The good news for me was that the sales staff (Liam Galvin) presented options to me so I could make an educated decision that satisfied my needs and provided me great value. He even gave me information from competitors' web site so I could compare features and dimensions. He listened to want I wanted and only got back to me once he found a car that I wanted to buy versus trying to sell me what was on the lot. I took my car in to find and fix a leak before 8 a.m. on Friday morning. While there, I agreed to additional work to be done, and agreed to leave the car for the day. I only received one phone call in the afternoon, telling me that certain parts "should" be replaced. I agreed to that, also. I received no further calls the rest of the day, so I had my wife drive me out there just prior to 6 p.m. to see what the status of my car was. No one could tell me anything. The work was not completed. The service department people had left for the day. Saturday morning, at about 9:40 a.m., I called to find out what was going on. I talked to Russ, who told me the parts that "should" be replaced, were not in stock, and would be delivered Monday. It would've been nice if someone would have called me to tell me that. This is pretty crappy customer service. Would I go there in the future for service? Nope. Would I recommend this service department? Not a chance.

In all fairness to everyone involved, I felt compelled to write a supplement to my initial review. What I left out are the following facts. Foster Chevrolet/Cadillac as a whole seems like a great place and thier entire staff as a whole was professional and courteous to me, and I'm sure they're over all good folks, doing their job. I consider myself a good, honest, fair man. I gave back every bit of courtesy and respect given to me. The only pressure I felt was we got the sales process started on the car I eventually bought late due to the failure of the original car I came there for in the first place, not to be worth purchasing at all, and I had along drive home ahead of me. What has cheesed me off about this whole after the sale scenario is that not once during my end of the buying process did I ever even mention negotiating down the price of the car I ultimately purchased. I Didn't ask for one dime off their asking price. I made a huge mistake in not doing so. Had I done so and succeeded I wouldn't have asked them for anything. However, I felt that not doing so would allow them to cut me some slack after the sale to take care of any small issues like those I found that need attending to. I AM A COMPLETE IDIOT!!..... my idea was good for nothing.

My wife and I were looking for a new(er) car. We test drove a 2014 Escape Titanium at a dealership not far from us, but when we finished driving, we were quickly attacked with all of the high pressure sales gimmicks. After saying no about 70 times, we finally left that dealership. We didn't rule out buying a brand new car, but I know how quickly new cars depreciate, and was open to looking at a used car. My brother in law found a 2013 Escape that we both really liked and we decided to drive from Brunswick to Sandusky to check it out and possibly buy. We called and talked to Ashley Johnston, told her we were driving from an hour away, and she said she would have the car ready for us on arrival. We got to the dealership, and no more than 5 minutes later we were test driving it. We both really liked it and decided to talk numbers. Ashley was more than accommodating, and treated us like family. She was super helpful and didn't pressure us once during the whole process. We agreed and filled out the paper work and soon enough we were on our way home in our new car! Ashley helped make our experience working with a dealer a great one after a not-so-good experience a few days earlier. The only negative thing was that our floor mats were left at the dealer when they were cleaning it up for us to take home. This wasn't even a big deal because it was late (we were finishing up after they closed) and we were planning on buying Weathertech mats regardless. We would like to thank Ashley and Vicki (finance manager) for all their help.

Service invoice stated oil change, topp off all fluids & 27 point inspection. However, once I got home & checked vehicle, there was no washer fluid & rear tail light was not working. So much for 27 point inspection. i guess that doesn't include checking lights. I would think that washer fluid would be included in fluids also. Will be looking to take elsewhere. I suggest you look over you vehicle before leaving.

The only thing I didn't like was driving into the building to drop off my car, I'm used to just dropping my car off and picking it up after service. I didn't know this was how it was done and I parked outside and walked in, I then had to go back out and bring my car inside, why didn't they just do the paperwork and get it themselves instead of making me retrieve the car and feel dumb about doing so. Other then that I was extremely happy about the work. It was done in about a half an hour and worked for me because I work night shift and I could have waited if had wanted to, thanks and I will be bringing it back in the future.

we left our cell phone number with the woman in the body shop to call when our truck was done, a 45 minute job. 2 hours later our salesman Jerry checked on the truck and said oh its done, when we walked in the woman said we were wondering if you were coming back! Door on the passenger side wouldn't open or shut, Alan came out and found the push pins to hold the inner door panel weren't pushed into the holes. When we asked about why they didn't wash our truck after they were done, the lady said, oh it will just be dirty by the time you get home anyways! They new mirror that was put on the truck had some many finger and hand prints on it my wife had to clean it before I could see out of it to drive home! We have dealt with Allan in the body shop on a few occasions and he is always very nice and professional, the woman back there helping him is rude and and doesn't know her job!

I thought I was royalty, truly I did. You must understand at Fosters there's no big I's little you's. I felt a personal attention which I (as a man of color) haven't experienced in over 50 years. I am not pointing a racial finger just conveying the fact that the entire Foster team from the moment that automatic garage door opens it's show time. Thank the whole team for me for an excellent job of service.

Everytime I go there they take me right in and take care of my vehicle right away. Never any problems and I am treated kindly by everyone. Being a Viet Nam veteran I am happy to do business with an American dealership.

Russ got me in same day and finished at 3:00 as promised. 2 issues with car 12/23, it's 12/24 and all is well. Service dept and sales experience keep us with Foster (unless we r getting a make not sold here!).

Went in for oil change and 30,000 mile service. While waiting it was discovered that a transfer output seal was leaking. It was explained that they could replace it in very little additional time and was covered under warranty. Very professional service and quick!

Great experience as always but was surprised my car wasn't washed. Whenever, I have taken my Tahoe in for service it has always been washed. ( no rain in the forecast that day).

I recently purchased a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox from Foster Chevrolet. Steve Smith went above and beyond getting the exact vehicle I wanted with limited quantities in inventory because of the new 2014 models coming in. He also made sure I got all the incentives I was entitled to. Adam Tressler was also very helpful in explaining the new technology of the vehicle. This was the most satisfying experience I've had in buying a car!

Wow! What an easy way to buy a vehicle. No fuss, no mess. Our salesperson (who asked to not be mentioned) was wonderful. He was very knowledgable about the vehicle we wanted. Very patient, hassled for me for the best price & was fair all the way around. He gave me a tour of the facility, introduced me to some of staff & made me buying a car there seem important and fun! After the paperwork was signed, my salesperson asked me to meet Adam who delivers all the new cars. He was great. This young man was literally an expert on the Cadillac Cue system inside my vehicle. He was very pleasant, informative & made sure I was confident with all operations before he just let me drive off the lot in a vehicle I was unfamiliar with. He even showed me all the fun stuff I could do to make the driving experience more fun. He explained all my safety features, showed me how to use my remote start & even how to properly seal my fuel cap. Sounds dimple, but I greatly appreciate the attention to detail this young man showed me. Overall, From start to finish this dealership has been wonderful to deal with. If this is any kind of indication of how the folks at Fosters do business, I look forward to having my vehicle in there for service. Perspective my call when someone I know needs a vehicle. Wow!!!

We met Sally Wild recently when in the dealership with our son who was interested in a new Chev pickup. She was very knowledgeable and professional in the handling of his new purchase. We mentioned we were interested in a new Cadillac and we test drove one. She did not pressure us and when we returned to talk further, she was very helpful in locating a car for us with the options we wanted. Sally made the whole car buying process enjoyable and answered our questions promptly. We have purchased several cars from Foster Chev. over the years and dealt with the service dept., body shop, and the parts dept. finding all to be very helpful and professional. I would highly recommend this dealership.

It has been 2 weeks since I signed my lease with Fosters, and I could not be happier with my car- and especially the process that came along with it! Ashley Johnston was extremely knowledgable in answering any questions I had. And the best part? She was down to earth! Since this was my first car that I got on my own (no help from mom or dad)- I was pretty clueless to the whole leasing process, and Ashley made sure to go over everything with my step by step. Adam was extremely kind, and the most knowledgeable sales associate I have ever had the experience to deal with. The buying process was actually fun. Before we left the dealership Adam brought in my old car ( which we were NOT trading in ) and had it washed and swept, because I made a comment about how dirty our old car was compared with the new one. I have been a long time buyer of GM cars and also a long time customer of Foster's. I continue to patronize Fosters because their staff is very professional, courteous and helpful. This includes not only the sales staff but the Office, Service and repair staff as well. They have always had a great selection of vehicles and if they do not have something on the lot they will find it for you. On my recent purchase, Ashley went out of her way to find the car I wanted.

We traveled from over 2 hours away to buy a car we only saw in pictures online. They answered all of our questions ahead of time and even told us about a little scratch that wasn't shown in the photo's. When we showed up we were greeted by a friendly phone operator who got us to Rich our sales person promptly. As we inspected the car we couldn't even find the scratch that was mentioned in our phone conversation ! We really enjoyed this purchase, the honesty of everyone, and would rate it as our best car buying experience ever. Expect a call when we need our next car !
