Brian was very helpful in my process to get a new car ! Everything he explained to me made sense and he was very patient with me. However, one of the other employees who had me sign the rest of my paper work got angry with me after I signed the wrong part . He made me feel very rushed and had a bad attitude after that.

Tom, the salesperson at Gates was excellent!! At no point did he (or anyone) try to convince me to purchase a more expensive vehicle - he listened to what my needs were and found me exactly what I needed. I'm unsure where to start. Gates Hyundai and Internet Sales Manager Brian McMahan has exceeded my expectations. Thanks to website www.cargurus.com, I found a 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL with less than 3,400 miles. Needless to say, I was very hesitant and reluctant to buy from them because they're out of state and 800 miles away. I live in Louisiana. I had a very affordable pre-inspection of the car performed in nearby Lexington (Auto Tech). Their rigorous report came back A+. Whether Gates Hyundai knew beforehand or not, the car had minor touch-up paint that you can't see with the naked eye. It was detected via UV light in an automotive shop. (This wasn't a make or break deal for me). Everything under the hood, inside of the car and under body came out phenomenal; not 1 ounce of rust on a nearly 4 year car with 1 owner. The only "major" issue was the tires were cracking bad from sitting on the lot. I requested the dealership to replace a minimum of TWO (rear) tires and I'd take care of the front tires later. They were committed in the sale and did what it took to make it work. What sold me on the car was a pre-inspection and I previously owned a 2008 2.5 SL Altima that I drove to 90k miles before I sold it. My best friend works on Nissans for a living near Charlotte and works on a Nascar crew. Thanks to his advice and www.carcomplaints.com, I came to a swift decision. I'm a large guy 6' 3" and 320 lbs. I love a very roomy car. At no time did Brian pressure me into a decision. He was very honest and upfront. Most of you know that basically (all) car dealers try to rip off the customer one way or another. These Kentucky gentlemen are the most professional I've come across. Any question you have, you'll receive a swift response!! I can't imagine Brian having a negative attitude with any customer. Where I live, near Alexandria, LA, Walker Automotive has dominated the dealerships here for over 100 years. I've met some great folks at Walker. If Brian is not treated like royalty for his professionalism in KY, I can make sure he is appreciated elsewhere. (No, I'm not exaggerating!!!) I'm blown away.. Thanks Gates!!!

They did not tack on every rebate you can imagine (that you don't qualify for) just to get the price more attractive online. What you see is truly what you get. Brian even worked to get me a great financing rate on top of a great price. To top it all off, even though I was prepare to drive over 200 miles to make the deal happen, they arranged to have the car delivered to me. A cars.com search lead me to their website where prices were accurate and did not include rebates that most people do not qualify for such as recent graduate etc.. I live in Louisville, about an 1 and half drive. I test drove a Sonata at a local dealership, whose initial price offered was too high but I gave them a chance to meet the Gate's price. They couldn't touch it. I want to thank Brian McMahan, who was courteous and answered emails promptly. Picking up the car went very well and there were no "surprises" and I appreciate the low pressure to buy an extended warranty or other add ons. I had a very bad experience with a Hyundai dealer in Florence, KY, but Gates Hyundai in Richmond, KY redeemed the Hyundai name. The salesman (Drew) was good but we were unable to agree on a price. I asked for the key to my trade to be returned so I could leave, and walked out to the showroom to wait for my key. At this point the Used Car Manager (Tony Abston) stormed out of his office with my key yelling at me what the H..L is it going to take to get you into this car. He proceeding to throw my key at me while calling me a bully and accusing me of trying to strong-arm the salesman. He then proceeded to follow me out to my car still yelling and calling me a bully and continued this while I was backing out of my parking space. All of this took place with about 8 to 10 other prospective customers in the showroom, all of them just in awe of his behavior. I hope, for their sake, they all were smart enough to get up and walk out.

After going and looking at other dealerships in the Lexington area and narrowing our search down to four vehicles, Hyundai vehicles stood at the top of the list. We were unable to find the color combination we wanted in Lexington so my husband did a search on line to see where there were other Hyundai dealers and found Gates Hyundai and they had the vehicle color and package we were looking for, so my husband contacted the dealership and spoke with a salesman by the name of Buddy Rue and when my husband told him what we were looking for, he said yes he had one left on the lot if we would like to come and check it out. Buddy went over all the details for the financing portion of the purchase so we would be prepared. After my last car buying experience I was sick for 3 days and promised myself never to do it again, but sure enough, like everyone else, I had to. I was very apprehensive about car shopping but Buddy was recommended to me and I thought sure, Ill try it. From the first phone call with him to the actual purchase of the vehicle 4 days later, he never made me feel pressured and let me have control over my car buying experience. He was willing to spend as much time as I needed test driving car after car only to go home and sleep on it. He always paid attention to what I was asking for and listened/answered all my questions. If I had to buy another car, I would search to find him. This time I wasnt sick for 3 days and I have never been happier with a car. When I had purchased the vehicle, he took almost two hours showing me the service department and all the buttons on the car. I saw a Honda Accord they had listed online and inquired about it. Brian got right back to me and we were able to negotiate through e-mail. Its an hour drive from my home to the dealership and I wanted to make sure I was not going there for nothing. World Class Customer Service. Repair was orginally done by another Hyundai dealership in another state. Gates service personnell found the oil leak source and had it fixed (under warranty) in less than 2 hours. Entire service staff was very personable and professional. Stewart Haddix is one of the rudest sales persons ever in my history of car buying. He has a superior attitude and treats customers awful. First time I complained about the mileage reading on vehicle because they had it delivered, and on the paperwork they put 2 different mileages down. He refused to listen to anything I had to say, then he kicked me out of the showroom. I would never buy or recommend anyone to EVER go to Gates Hyundai of Richmond. If you live in the area and want a Hyundai Please for your sake go someplace else.Hope you will have better judgement than I did.

I discovered a pre-owned, low-mileage, excellent-condition 2004 Mitsubishi at an attractive price at the Gates Hyundai website. Did my research and discovered a superb CarFax report for the VIN. The original owner had ensured every oil change and 100% of maintenance had been performed on-time by the very same Mitsubishi dealership for over 80,000 miles. Moreover, I liked the upbeat online reviews of Gates a lot. While my residence is in Virginia, more than 500 miles from Gates' location, everything appeared upbeat about this car and I was willing to travel to eastern Kentucky to buy this car if it was a winner. Contacted Buddy Rue via online chat and then spoke with him in more detail about the car. I lined up a one-way car rental that I eventually dropped off 3 miles from the Gates dealership. Buddy shepherded every single key detail of the purchase every step of the way. Went with Buddy for a test drive of the car and everything checked out well. A touch of final detailing and a full tank of gas were great touches. Plus Gates helped me out with a suitable front license plate bracket/frame for the car, which is a Virginia requirement. Signing the paperwork that Jamie prepared was a breeze and I'll take care of the title/registration/plates in Virginia. The temporary Kentucky tags last 60 days, by the way. In summary, it was a superb buying experience. And I'd buy from them again. Gates gets my strongest recommendation.

I first contacted Brian McMahan late on a Thursday evening through an internet form. He responded right away, even though it was 9:54 PM. Later that night I replied, and didn't expect a response until the next day. When I checked my email the next morning, I saw that he had responded at 2:45 AM. I was impressed. But I was even more impressed as we continued to correspond and he had some very good ideas. One was suggesting that they could easily adjust the steering sensitivity on the Sonata, since my wife had driven one and found the steering to require too much muscle. Sure enough, when we arrived for our test drive, the car was parked by the side of the dealership like Brian had said it would be, and the steering had been adjusted so it was very comfortable for my wife to drive.Because we couldn't give Brian a firm appointment time on the Saturday we visited the dealership, we happened to arrive when he was assisting another customer. But he had arranged to have another salesperson, Mark Sharp, show us the car. Both Mark and Brian took the time to answer all our questions. They were both very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and easy to talk to.We made an offer on the used 2011 Sonata we originally test-drove, but we couldn't agree on a price. While we were negotiating, Mark and Brian treated us with respect, they did not pressure us, and they listened to us. We mentioned that we'd seen a brand new car advertised online at a different Hyundai dealership -- with a ridiculously low price. I didn't mention it to them, but we didn't like that car's color. I had also called that competing dealership, and they had admitted the car had recently been reduced because it had been sitting on their lot for several months. Evidently, other people didn't like it either.At that point, Mark introduced us to Stewart Haddix, the new car manager. Stewart immediately offered to try to match that price -- and to find the car in the color we wanted. Within a few minutes, he was able to locate a car with all the same features, in the exact color we wanted. And we got it for the same low price as the car with the unappealing color at the other dealership.They got us very attractive financing through Hyundai, and Jamie Reynolds (the finance manager) was also great to work with.We had expected to have to wait up to several days for our car to arrive, but they got it on Monday, and we picked it up that evening. It was gleaming when we arrived to pick it up, having been freshly washed. Mark Sharp and Mike Vescio answered all our questions about the car, and we also scheduled another appointment to go over the car in even greater detail.At that appointment, Brian McMahan went over the car from top to bottom, making sure we'd be able to enjoy all the features and benefits.Throughout the whole process, all the employees coordinated with each other seamlessly to give us great hospitality and service. We would definitely buy from them again, and we would recommend them to anyone.

The best auto purchase I have ever had, by far--and I have bought at least a dozen cars in my life. One offer, a very fair counteroffer and one trip to the dealer. That was it. The salesman was knowledgeable about the car and replied to my e-mails and texts promptly. He was never pushy. He treated me like a serious customer from the start, even though most of our communications were by e-mail and text and I live 2 hours from the dealership. The dealer experience was flawless. I had been working very long hours at work, and had decided if there was a single hitch, I'd just put it off for a couple months when work would be less busy. There wasn't. I was in and out of there in an hour and a half, which included a trade-in. The salesman offered a test drive and gave a quick, but thorough, review of the car after the purchase. He would have gone into much more depth about the vehicle if I wanted that, but I was ready to get home.In my past experiences, the finance guys are typically the shadiest, but not the one I dealt with at Gates. He was matter of fact about Gap, and the extended warranty. He was efficient and not pushy. None of the "DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH A COMPUTER MODULE WILL COST TO REPLACE ON THIS CAR?!!?!" or "WERE LOSING MONEY ON THIS CAR AS IT IS!!!" that I had to suffer with when I purchased my last car at the Toyota dealership in Frankfort. The salesman and I had agreed on a bottom line number, and the finance guy kept to that. There was a slight APR increase (1.9% Hyundai to 2.03% credit union), but it wasn't enough for me to sweat it. The finance guy explained something about fees and APR, but I decided the overall deal was fair enough. In the past, I've put off buying a new car for months because I was dreading having to deal with the haggling and hucksterism. My last purchase, at Toyota in Frankfort, was the worst ever. So even though my in-laws had bragged about Gates, I was skeptical that I'd be driving home in a new car that night. I'm no longer skeptical.Honest, fair, efficient with no drama. In summary, Gates treated me fairly, honestly, and like an adult, and I appreciate them.

The whole process is very streamlined, allowing us to get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. The waiting area has always had coffee and drinks. All employees have been courteous. I contacted Gates Hyundai via email. Brian McMahan quickly responded to my email with ZERO pressure. I scheduled a visit for that afternoon-during a heavy downpour of rain. Brian phoned a few minutes prior to my appointment to assure me that I would not have to get soaked to look at the car. He pulled it into the service garage and gave us all the time we wanted to inspect the vehicle where it was warm and dry! Brian was knowledgeable about the car and answered all of our questions. Every person we came in contact with was super nice and eager to help with the car buying process. I have purchased around a dozen cars in my life and for the first time I can honestly say that I would return to a Dealership for my future car purchases. Thanks Brian and Gates Hyundai of Richmond for providing a wonderful car buying experience.

Allan was a pleasure to deal with; he was friendly, professional and accomodating to our time schedules. He not pushy or arrogant, but was very concerned that we got what we wanted. He was well informed about their products, services and options. At first I contacted this dealer with an through internet. Brian McMahon responded with a phone call. This was the first of two calls. At no time was I pressured yet everything I requested was responded to. Weather interfered with my first appointment to test drive. When I was able to get there on a Sunday, I was able to test drive a few models. Brian and the finance office worked with me and I finally was able to purchase the vehicle I had chosen at a price that was fair and responsive to my requests.After the agreement, all papers requiring signature were explained to me, When the papers were "signed and sealed", Brian gassed up the car, gave it a final cleaning and spent time with me programming the bluetooth and satellite radio, assuring that I was comfortable with these features.My grand daughter and fiance accompanied me. It was wonderful for them to see professionalism, courtesy and responsiveness in such a large tranaction.Many thanks to Gates Hyundai!

everything was done by phone Brian McMahan made it very easy to purchase a car. My wife could not make up her mind on the s.e. or limited or the color. This took several days and Brian was very understanding. Gates beat every price i did shop around.The night we picked up the car it was detailed and spotless. I really wanted to purchase at gates because we owned a toyota and the service is unmatched. 1st time hyundai buyer love the sonata s.e. with nav. and chrome handles, dual exhaust really set the car off. We were just shopping around for a small size SUV. After looking at the CR-V, Journey, Escape, and Equinox, we drove past they Hyundai dealership. My wife saw the Tucson's in the lot and really liked the styling, I really like the price for what we were getting. They happened to have the color (exterior and interior) that we liked and Adam was great at showing us all the nice features on the vehicle. After a quick test drive my wife decided that this was the car for her. We were able to quickly negotiate what I considered to be an excellent deal (hard to do with me and cars!). We never felt pressured into buying like we did when we previously shopped at the nearby Honda dealer. It was an excellent buying experience and I look forward to going back in the near future to pick me out a Veloster.

this was by far the best car buying experience i have ever experienced! our salesperson, adam atherton, was incredible to work with. usually, i do not complete surveys, but he deserves the positive feedback. he was very professional, competent, personable, timely and did not push or force buying onto us. he is exactly what a salesperson should be like. in fact, i hope he is in a position to train other salespeople so that it doesn't give the profession a bad stereotype! also, jaime reynolds was very professional. they worked with our budget and got us an incredible deal. very impressive. i will be referring all of my friends and family to adam atherton.

We came into the dealership we were not looking to buy. We have not bought from a dealership in over 20 years. Our vehicles have all come from Ebay LOL.We met Brian online looking at the cars and he said he had just what we were looking for. We did not like how far away it was but thought if the deal could be made we would work to try and make it happen. They came to our price and got us in and out in a very good amount of time. We also got a much better interest rate than we were thinking and were promised service after the sale. Hopefully that will pan out and we will be a loyal customer if the customer service stands the test of time. Would highly recommend this dealership for professional, quick service and they actually listen to the customer.Great job all the way around....hopefully it continues into the servicing of us after the sale...:)

I went to glen hyuandi of lexington first... They were so rude to me that i left crying! In addition my sales representitive would not tell me information that i was askIng for. I ended up at gates hyuandi of richmond because i was hoping that i could find someone that was helpfull and friendly. Not only was Adam Atherton friendly the entire staff was warm, welcoming, and helpfull. They were very patient with me as i tried to find out the best option for me and my specific situation. Adam was never pushy, rude, or condescending. (all things i experienced at glen hyuandi.) i had no idea that car buying could be so easy! 7/17/2012I recently went car shopping with my wife after her car was totaled in an accident. After test driving a Sonata, we were comfortable buying if the price was right. In the interim, my wife found a different Sonata that she liked better because of the color, so we made an offer (conditional upon some scratches getting fixed) on that one instead. Stupidly, we never test drove the actual car we purchased. There's no good excuse, but it had been an incredibly long day, we had driven from lexington, had a baby sitter, and it was closing time. On the way home, my wife heard A LOT of road noise as speed increased. At first, I wasn't worried figuring we were protected by lemon laws and the 3 day cooling off period, but after some research online, realized we were basically at the dealerships mercy. My wife called the next morning, after a sleepless night, and she was told "don't worry, we'll take care of it, whatever it is." Reassuring, but actions speak louder than words. Gates Hyundai picked up our car later that evening and left us with a loaner that was basically brand new. It turned out to be a problem with the tires and they needed to be replaced. Gates Hyundai put on four new tires, had a body shop take care of the scratches identified at purchase, and delivered it back to our door good as new. Gates Hyundai had no legal obligation to replace the tires at no cost to us, but they did....more importantly they showed my wife and I that they really care about our satisfaction. We will certainly give Gates Hyundai our business again in the future and would recommend them to any friend looking to buy a car.

Within a couple of minutes after I put in my contact info for a new car, Brian called me to set up and appt time to come and visit with the dealership. He met me at the front door and introduced himself, we took the Santa Fe for a test drive and everything went smoothly from that point on until we finished with me driving off the lot. He is a personable young man and I never felt like he was pressuring me to buy the car. He was tolerant of my needs in regards to payment, etc.. Mike was a pleasure to work with. My wife and I stopped in to check out our options knowing we had a sizable repair bill on our Honda minivan that we had to make a decision on. I started with letting Mike know that we had recently filed a personal bankruptcy and did not want to waste his time if financing was not going to be an option. This did not discourage him in the least as he began structuring an experience for my wife and I that was respectful, enjoyable and absolutely without pressure. His first and foremost concern was that we chose a vehicle that would fit all of our needs. It has been my experience that a lot of sales people (not professionals) would have pushed us and been aggressive in trying to "close the deal" especially after about 4 hours or more. Mike did neither. What he did do however was, answer all of our questions in a manner that assured us he was listening and understood our concerns and positions and was never condescending. Overall it was a very good experience and I would send any friend of mine that was in the market for a car to see Mike. Last but not least we are both thrilled with our new 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The fuel savings alone will more than pay the monthly payment and I love the hands free Bluetooth cell phone linking feature!

If you are in the market for either a new or pre-owned vehicle, then Gates Hyundai of Richmond is your dealership and Dennis Ford is your salesperson! The staff at Gates Hyundai was very friendly and helpful, but Dennis stood out above them all. I did the majority of my negotiations via telephone and email, and Dennis made the entire process very easy and answered all of my emails very quickly. Before I arrived at the dealership, Dennis did almost all of the haggling with the sales manager and got me a great deal and top dollar for my trade-in. He never pressured me and was very patient with me, which was much appreciated since I must have changed my mind a dozen times on which vehicle to purchase. When I finally arrived at the dealership, the transaction went very smoothly and in no time at all I was driving home in my beautiful 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Although it will be awhile before I need another vehicle, I will certainly recommend Gates Hyundai of Richmond, especially Dennis Ford, to all of my family and friends!

I puchased a used 2008 Sonata Hyundai from Dennis Ford on 4/12/2012. Dennis was a salesman I was comfortable working with. He created no pressure on me to buy as he understood what I was looking for and the dollar value of the car I felt was affordable. Dennis had the vehicle prepped for me, and ready to drive away upon my arrival Thursday pm. The car was immaculate and detailed to my standards. I would recommend anyone to work with Dennis whether buying new or used. I also worked briefly with Mike Wallace who explained the licensing/plate policy in Kentucky. He answered all of my questions and thanked me for being a Gates customer. The new dealership there is spacious, well decorated and functionable. Love this dealership group! I have bought two Toyotas from their sister store and now a New Sonata. I have to pass other dealerships closer to me and drive an additional 20 miles. The buying experience is worth it. As in the pass I'm sure the service experience will be just as great. Yes I drive out of my way for the service too. I know I get a fair price there too. I just met Drew and Mike and they were great. My father bought his first new car at the age of 80, and they treated him like he was the king! I'll return after my 10 year old sequoia with 183000 miles wears out. Could be another 5 years!

Everyone at Gates was wonderful to work with. I usually don't like going to car dealerships because I always feel that they try to pressure me into buying a car that is out of my budget and I end up feeling like I settled on a lesser car and end up with buyers remorse. That was not the case at all when I worked with Mike and everyone at Gates. Mike knew my budget and what kind of features that I was looking for in a vehicle and he did a great job about being honest with me about which cars would fir in my budget and I really felt like he had everyone else did everything they could to help me.

We had a great experience with Gates Hyundai in Richmond, Kentucky. I tried to get a yellow Veloster in Kansas City for 8 weeks before callig and putting a deposit down on the car at Gates. We drove 650 miles from KC and the car was waiting for us. Brian Veloster was terrific to work with, as was the sales manager and finance manager. Overall it was a really smooth transaction and we had our new car and were ready to head back to Kansas in about an hour and a half. A very good experience for us. Even my husband thought so and he usually doesn't deal well with car salesman. We would highly recommend this dealership to anyone wanting t buy a car.

While they presented all options (which is their job), they were never pushy or overbearing. And, as it turned out, their financing offer beat what our credit union had pre-approved us for. Call me crazy, but I think that if you're going to pay $17k for a brand new car, you should get what you want! Several dealerships told me my request for a black, manual transmission Elantra was too specific; there were only a handful of those cars in the entire country, and it would be "impossible" to find. One visit to Gates Hyundai, and their staff were determined to get me the car I wanted...and they did it in less than one week! I appreciated Brian's help through the process; he never applied the high-pressure sales approach that I felt from other dealers, and he maintained communication through e-mail and phone to keep me apprised of the acquisition. And he even delivered my new car to my doorstep! What more could you ask for? I got a great deal on the exact car I wanted, and I'm very happy with my purchase so far. Had another great experience at a Gates dealership. My last car was Toyota Avalon that I bought from Toyota South. I drove onto the lot one rainy day in November . . . just looking. My husband had been trying to convince me to trade in my perfectly good 3+ year old vehicle. I got out of the car with an umbrella and looked at the only Tucson on the lot. I decided that if a salesman was interested enough to come out in the rain, I would seriously consider purchasing a vehicle. Here comes Drew, walking out in the rain to see if he could help a lone female, car shopping. He was courteous, NOT pushy or condescending! I came back 3 days later with my husband to get his opinion. I never felt pushed or pressured. The Tucson on the lot sold while we were making the deal but the employees located a vehicle with the options and color we wanted and immediately sent someone to pick it up. I could have gotten the vehicle that afternoon but waited until the next day to pick it up. The car was full of gas and ready to go when I drove onto the lot the next day. I have never purchased a vehicle as quickly and painlessly as I did at this dealership.Drew, Jamie and Matt were all extremely courteous and helpful during the process. Any other employees we came in contact with, were equally courteous and helpful. I definitely recommend this dealership!

I was in the market for the very hot Hyundai Veloster in an automatic with all the options and trimmings. Most of the dealers in my area offered me everything that I wanted with no practical means of delivering on the promises. They all wanted me to purchase a vehicle that they didn't physically have to sell and they treated the sale as if they had just successfully participated in the Great Train Robbery by boasting that they could get $3000 to $5000 over MSRP. They said that they had to do that because the mark up was not enough from invoice. (If they can't make money at MSRP, perhaps they should re-evaluate their business model)?Now to the salient points:I searched cars.com and autotrader.com to find the vehicle I wanted located at Gates Hyundai in Kentucky. I called, spoke with salesman Drew, confirmed the product specifics and offered him MSRP to purchase right now. He put me on hold to discuss with sales manager Becky and returned after only a few moments to tell me that we had a deal.Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I live in Florida and the dealership is 850 miles from my home so Drew drove to the nearest airport to pick me up on his day off to drive me the 34 miles to the dealership to close the deal.Business manager Jamie helped me complete the purchase in only a few minutes then I spent another hour just chatting with the employees because I was amazed how pleasant they all were!They made my purchase a win/win sale by not behaving with the condescending attitude that I encountered with most of the dealers in my local area.They were professional, courteous, pleasant and fair with their pricing. I didn't even feel like I was making a high value purchase but the best part was that I didn't have to take the standard "after car shopping shower" that we usually need to remove the car salesman BS fragrance left behind from the experience.These were all great people with great instincts. I would travel the 850 miles to buy my next car from them again.

I had been in the market for a car for quite some time after I graduated college. It was time to get a more practical car and get rid of my roadster. (Something that is quite rare these days!) Brain and Jamie (the finance guy) really worked with me to get the payments down to fit my budget, without sacrificing all the goodies on the car! I have called Brian many times with questions and he has happily answered every time. I have recommended them to everyone I know, and stand by them. They definitely have a repeat customer out of me! To the question 'Would you recommend this dealership?' a simple 'Yes' cannot even begin to do it justice.I am originally from a small town and was 'raised right' as my dad would say--meaning that you treat people with respect and courtesy. I am from Louisville and had been looking for a new Elantra since I graduated in May. I had put my name down on several lists at Louisville Hyundai dealers and even a deposit or two. I told them exactly what I wanted, either white or light blue exterior and tan leather interior. Well, after about a month of empty promises from them I decided I should try and look elsewhere. While looking on cars.com I found a light blue Elantra that I really wanted at Gates Hyundai. I called and spoke with Brian who told me it was recently sold but that he would continue to look around and give me a call if he found something. I assumed this was another broken promise like the Louisville dealers had given me. However, in a week or so Brian told me he found one! I did my credit application online and he e-mailed me the price break down of the car. Within the next few days I drove to Richmond and purchased my Elantra absolutely hassle free. I am recommending Gates Hyundai to all of my Louisville friends and am totally convinced Brian works miracles. Jamie, the finance manager, was also super friendly and helpful. He didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need and just laid out all of the facts in front of us. Hands down the BEST and easiest car buying experience of my life. I've wasted the last 4 weeks with another dealer telling me lie after lie of when an Elantra would make it to his dealership. I gave him a security deposit, which didn't me...an anything to him because he sold "my" car yesterday to someone else. Contacted Becky today and she put a deal together within a 1/2 hour on the phone and is having my Elantra delivered to me tomorrow. We live in Northern KY and wouldn't make it down to Richmond until the weekend, but Becky wanted us to have our new car right away. I will recommend this dealership to EVERYONE I know

Brian called us and asked questions before we ever came in, and sent us pics of cars he thought we might like. When we arrived, he had the three cars we were most interested in set up in the same area of the parking lot, ready for us to test drive. He helped us think through the pros and cons of the final two cars (newer with fewer features, versus "loaded" but older). In the office, he explained the cost and how to purchase an extended warranty. Finally, he and the finance manager made sure the interest rate on the loan was attractive and within our budget. We would recommend Brian to all our friends, in fact I put his name out to my Kentucky friends on Facebook next time they need a car.Separately, I was very impressed with Gates' website, made it very easy to see and compare cars.

I went and saw Brian McMahan at Gates hyundai after visiting several different dealerships including Nissan on Nicholasville road, Toyota, Kia, as well as searching extensively online. I found Brian to be extremely helpful and honest in showing me cars and explaining to me how they compare to similar cars in its class. Brian helped explain to me how the hyundai Tucson compared with other cars and warranties available at other dealerships. He helped me compare safety, gas mileage, as well as customer ratings. Being a new graduate I was informed of how first time car buyers could earn cash off their purchase, as well as other incentives available. I was so grateful I went to Gates Hyundai, everyone was friendly and most importantly honest which is hard to come by in the car selling industry. Gate's Hyundai makes the process of buying a new car hassle free from start to finish. I had to search the entire eastern seaboard for the vehicle I wanted, a 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 GT in Silverstone, and I found it at Gates Hyundai. Living in Virginia, everything had to be done over the phone and the computer to purchase the car. Jake Childress was great the whole way, answering every question we had (there were many!), even sending me a video of my car for me to look at constantly while waiting to come pick it up in Kentucky (that was fantastic by the way.. all of the guys at my office were VERY jealous). When my flight arrived Jake had a driver waiting for me to take me straight to the dealership, and they had me ready to drive away in less than 30 minutes. Jake really rolled out the red carpet, and turned what has been a stressful process in the past with previous vehicle purchases at other dealerships into a pleasure at Gates Hyundai. I wish all major purchases at other retailers for other goods could have been as great an experience as Jake provided with the purchase of my new Genesis. In fact, I am so pleased with the service Jake provided that as I'm now in the market for a second car (my fiancee loves the new 2012 Elantra) I would rather buy the vehicle from Jake some 500 miles away from my location than to drive 15 minutes down the road to my local Hyundai dealer.
