Stay away from this dealership! They are pushy, over-priced, rude, and simply there to take advantage of their consumer. They breached my contract and when I told them they had breached the contract, they threatened me. This dealership isn't afraid to use the bully tactic and I'd recommend going to a dealer who actually wants to satisfy their customer as opposed to cheating them. Overall: sneaky, manipulative, and greedy.

My husband and I went to go look at a Passat and had an wonderful experience in car buying. The salesman wasn't pushy or just trying to just make the sale. The customer service at Elk Mountain Motors is amazing.

I came to Elk Mountain Motors to turn in a car I had leased and was due to be returned. I had no money to get a new car due to some economical issues that came up this month, so I was planning on catching the bus home and going without a car for a month. One of the sales guys, Eric, started talking to me and when he found out about my situation, he let me know about the Sign & Drive special from VW and asked if I would be interested in a new VW. I have had VWs for a long time now and like them, but I was looking to find lease that would be a little more inexpensive than my last one. Also, my credit had been turned down by Jeep due to my less than great income and student loan debt I am currently paying off. I was told I would need a cosigner in order to get a Jeep. The finance director, Chris, was awesome as well and explained every step of the way to me. He made sure I was happy with everything and he was even able to get me a lower monthly payment for my new 2013 Jetta than I was paying for my 2010 Jetta. I also met John, his boss, who came to help with a little hiccup. They both figured everything out very quickly and got me out of there very fast. I honestly feel they treated me as they would have treated a member of their family and tried to get me the best deal they could. I was very satisfied with every step of the process and am grateful not to be catching the bus for a month!! I'd recommend to anyone! Thank you Elk Mountain Motors =)

I came to ElkMountainMotors to look for a new car. My Intention was to look for a VW Passat 2013 and when i meet Eric he told me about a VW Passat 2012. Reason why was because that Passat was cheaper than a brand new Passat and I liked that idea very much( I mean who wouldn't).... We took it for a Test Ride and I was very pleased with pretty much everything(including Eric of course)....We finalized the Deal with Chris from Financing and he was just great....!!!Helmut Kaschitz

Robert, at Elk Mountain Motors, made this the first time I actually enjoyed buying a car! He was friendly , not pushy and really cared about what I wanted and not what he could push me to buy. My 2005 Volkswagen Beetle had a burnt out front headlight and the rear hatch wouldn't stay up, so I brought it into Elkhorn Mountain Motors where I purchased it and the service agent who greeted me was Steve Bruni. From the moment I entered I felt welcomed and that I and my car would be well taken care of. Steve was thorough in going over the servicing to be done, giving me estimates and asked if I needed transportation. The headlight was in stock and would take approximately an hour, so I chose to wait. Steve said he would order the struts for the rear hatch and call me as soon as the parts came in. The lounge was quite comfortable, with complimentary bottled water, lovely magazines like Town & Country and a flat panel TV. Steve stopped by a couple of times to see if I had everything I needed and to update me on the progress of the servicing. Several staff members walked by as I waited and they all had a welcoming 'Hello" for me. The car was finished right on time and even had a wash. True to his word, Steve called me when the part arrived for the rear hatch and I set up an appointment and the same excellent service was demonstrated again. His estimates were right on and the work done was superior. The headlight and rear hatch are now working beautifully. Eric Brekhus was the mechanic who serviced my car and he did a great job. We've bought cars at other dealerships in the past and dreaded the servicing,because it was such poor quality and the estimates given were way below the actual costs. We've always had a great experience with Elkhorn Mountain Motors. I would highly recommend this dealership for their excellence in sales and services.Linda Lallier

We were looking at cars, trying to decide which one would be best suit our purpose, and when we walked into the Elk Mountain Motors dealership in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, we were met by Chase Wilfer who introduced himself to us and was perhaps the most polite, helpful car salesman we have ever met. Chase showed us the vehicles we were interested in and explained their options, prices etc. and answered all our questions and concerns, and was never pushy or high pressure. We thanked him, and explained we wanted to look at some other makes of cars and would get back to him if we were interested in a VW Passat TDI. Chase was very understanding, and never once tried to high pressure us into buying a car while we were there, and we really appreciated that. We thought about the Passat over the weekend, and called him on Monday morning and expressed our desire to learn more about the Passat and see if we could make a deal on it. Chase and Chris Hamlin, the Dealership Finance Director, helped us arrive at an agreeable price and gave us several options on financing. All in all, this was the most positive, pleasant car buying experience I have ever experienced, and I have purchased several vehicles in my fifty plus years of driving. We did decide on the 2013 Passat TDI, and in the week we have owned it, we are extremely happy with our decision, and would definitely recommend The Elk Mountain Motors Volkswagen dealership, and their very capable staff to anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle.

There was a truly genuine quality about the dealership. Zippy, the salesman who assisted me was knowledgeable and engaging throughout the process, and his follow up after the sale indicated his commitment beyond the completion of the sale. Chris Hamlin, the Finance Director, personified the qualities of sincerity and commitment while assisting me with financing. Truly outstanding and an asset to both the dealership and customer. Buying my car at Elk mountain motors was a very enjoyable experience. I looked at used cars in Colorado Springs and Denver, and they by far had the best selection and prices. Robert was extremely helpful in finding me a car that had all bells and whistles I wanted, and a car that I could actually afford!! Robert had my brand new studded tires put on the car, it was beautifully cleaned and detailed, and there was a full tank of gas. Was so nice to pick up my car and have it all ready to go! They even helped me set up the blue tooth. Chris and Robert kept me up to date every step of the way with how the financing would work, and all of the logistics with the car. Chris worked magic making numbers work for me, and getting a competitive interest rate. When I called a week later concerned about the breaks, they checked the car out no questions asked. Customer service was very friendly- even gave me a ride to target and back while car was being serviced. Working with Chris and Robert was a pleasure! I would highly recommend Elk Mountain Motors!!!

I came to this dealer from Grand Junction, Colorado to purchase a used Lexus. It was on a Saturday. After we purchased the car it was nearly closing time. The salesman and finance manager seemed to disappear. I had a hard time finding anyone to help me remove the window stickers so we could see to drive home. The gas tank was nearly empty and the best they would do is offer to fill it only to half a tank. A couple of days later Chris Hamlin called me to tell me be couldn't process the title until he collected another $143 to pay the County sales tax. I gave him my credit card number. Four weeks later I noticed the radiator was leaking. I called and asked about the three month warranty they offered and they never called me back! Finally, after several phone calls and left messages I managed to get ahold of Christ Hamlin. He told me that it wasn't covered under their warranty but he would like to have his service department look at it and see what he could do to help me. He gave me his direct phone number and email and told me to get in touch when I could bring it back to set up an appointment. After several calls and emails these last two weeks I have yet to hear from him! I ended up replacing the radiator myself because the leak grew worse. Customer service at this dealer is truly awful! Most of the time when you call you get an answering service. I would definitely NOT recommend this dealer.

Got great price on trade in for new car and when I took it in for the first service, Bruce was very courteous, professional and outstanding to deal with. They had the car back out when promised and it was clean, it's worth the trip to Glenwood.

My husband and I have bought and sold several cars over the past few years and this was by far the best experience at a dealership!! We traded in a truck for a car and walked out of there feeling good for once!! Thanks to the staff who stayed late to help us get this done in a quick amount of time!!!

I was tentative about going here after reading some of these reviews. The dealership was close and convenient for me though, and I haven't presonally heard any negative experiences so I figured why not give them a chance. My experience was GREAT!!! Jason was friendly and courtious, and really wanted to help us find exactly the car we needed. Josh, who was the used car manager I believe, really helped in making the numbers work for us. After my experience, I am shocked to see some of these reviews, but hope that others will see mine and not pass up on Elk Mountain Motors.

Purchased used vehicle. Sales person need to have a cigarette before he could complete the paperwork. Found out the next day several things were wrong with the vehicle. Including a broken windshield and brakes. Showed up at the dealer and salesman walked away. Have tried contacting the dealer by phone several times. Left messages and spoke with manager. Dealer says they will call back and never do. Dealer did not honestly disclose everything about the vehicle. Do not buy from this dealer. You will end up with a car that needs a lot of work and a dealer who doe not care because they've made money off of you.

I CALLED AND TALKED TO RICHARD ABOUT A SPECIFIC NEW VW TO BUY,HE TOLD ME TO COME DOWN AT A SPECIFIC TIME AND WE COULD MAKE THE DEAL. WOKE UP EARLY , CALLED FIRST AND DROVE ONE HOUR, WHEN WE GOT THERE, HE SAID THE CAR WAS SOLD. HE TRIED TO SELL US A CAR WE DIDNT WANT.TYPICAL ELK MOUNTAIN MOTORS, THIS WAS THIRD TIME I TRIED TO BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER IN 7 YEARS. IVE BOUGHT 2 NEW VWS FROM OTHER DEALERS. THIS DEALER HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, PERIOD

I own a 2001 VW beetle which i took to Elk Mountain motors to have the ABS brakes repaired. While in thier possesion a light or something like that was left on resulting in the battery going dead.They jump started my car and left it to run unattended. While it was left running the car overheated causing substantial damage to the engine. The first call i received from the service dept was to tell me that the water pump had gone out while the car was running and the repair cost was going to be around 1500.00 to fix. They were very sure there was no damage to the engine. So as i declined to take responsibility for them leaving it running and causing the damage they decided to repair the car. Two weeks later i recieve a phone call saying that the engine was no good and they were going to replace the engine with one they had found on the east coast. I was fine with this as it seemed they were going to stand up and take responsibility and fix my car. It took them three months to get my car repaired. They did offer a loaner two months after the car was damaged and after i had already spent 1100.00 on a rental car which they declined to reimberse me for. The car was repaired with a used engine and at least i got that out of the deal but my main complaint is that the original repair was on the brake system which they also fixed and charged me full price for. After all of the problems i had with this and they wouldnt adjust the the bill at all. I did not expect them to eat the total bill even after three months of inconvenience, but after everything that happened i felt they should have at the very least paid for the rental car and given me a break on the repair bill which was 1700.00 for repairing the ABS. Very dissapointed with the service i received as when i questioned the bill they acted like they had done me a favor and that i was out of line for asking.

Rich was wonderfull he went out of his way to help me. he brought the truck up to rifle for me to test drive. The next day he picked me up in rifle and took me to the dealership to pick the truck up so I didn't have to find a ride. I sure apprecate it thank you

I brought my Passat in to get the locks disconnected and a tune-up. Elk Mountain motors proceeded to sell me a 80,000 mile check up (only have 60,000 miles on the car) and a timing belt which I do not believe I needed. They then found damage to my transmission pan, which I remember giving permission to fix. At the time, my husband was told the timing belt would cost around $600 (it cost $1,600) and he was not told the exact price of the 80K tune-up. At all times, Elk mountain motors only gave him quotes of each piece, never the entire bill. My husband sat in Glenwood Springs for the entire day of 10/12/07 and when they said they would pick him up to bring him back to the dealership to get the loaner, it took them 1.5 hours for them to come get him. Upon receiving the loaner (b/c they didnt have the parts), he was never given a full copy of the estimated cost of repairs (only verbal pieces). Had he seen this he would never had agreed to all the repairs, as the estimate was $4,800. This equates to 8% of my annual salary and now I will be paying this bill (+ credit card interest) for the next six months, as I do not have this cash on hand.

Took my car into them to change three motor mounts that I supplied (OEM). When I got the car back there were more cabin rattles and vibration than when I took it in with the old mounts. Took a look at the front mount and it was installed incorrectly (I had to give them a printed diagram from the service manual for them to orient it correctly). Took it back to see if they could fix this, and they reoriented it but still major rattles and vibration. Took it to another mechanic who knows VW's and he said that they didn't even bother to change the transmission mount, yet they kept the part I gave them. Service manager complained how difficult it was to change them?!? Normally an easy job for a competent mechanic. They also twisted and broke my steering rack boot when they were messing with it.Won't be going back and won't recommend them to anyone.

I was told that I would not regret it for a day, I would have no problem with payments, and everything would be so much better if I bought this car. I was extremely pressured to sign the papers. I have had to drive 3-4 times to the dealer (which is a good 45 min. away) in the first 3 months or owning my car. (Which is bad because I have to make the REALLY expensive payments, that I can not afford if I miss work) Now, I am having another MAJOR issue and they will not return my phonecalls or emails. This is the worst dealership/ customer service ever. So far I have not been happy with my purchase.

Consitantly bad service for both VW and Audi cars, not only with myself but also with many of my friends and colleagues.<br>Unfortunately they are the only VW/Audi dealership between Denver and Salt Lake City, so they have the monopoly in the Rockies.<br><br>Don't let their brand new dealership fool you, they still have many of their staff and incompetance and poor work/service still reign there.<br>I gave them many opportunities to regain my trust and satisfaction, but I have lost hope and I file many formal complaints to VWoA.<br><br>If you want quality knowledgeable service that treats you with respect and courtesy, I strongly suggest going to Midstate Motors in Basalt. They have all the latest equipent and computers to do a far superior and thorough work. They specializes in German and exotic cars.<br>If you want to buy a new VW/Audi I suggest making the drive to Denver, like many. It's definately worth the trek.
