I wanted to buy a new small SUV, and was considering an Acura, an Infiniti, a Ford Edge, a Lincoln MKX, or Audi 5. Ali took the time to discuss with me what I was expecting from my new vehicle, as far as how it would drive, the luxury feel of it, important whistles and bells to me, the exterior look I wanted, the maintenance costs, the gas mileage, and re-sell. He was patient to answer all of my questions, and was not pushy in any way. He treated me with respect, and understood my decision would take me a few days to make because I wanted to be absolutely sure I was choosing the right vehicle. I narrowed down to the Acura RDX, and the Lincoln MKX. I spent alot of time driving both vehicles, also riding as a passenger, sitting in the front and back seats, and comparing their look side by side. I decided on the Acura because it drove and felt like it was made just for me, and also because Ali had treated me as a highly valued customer. I have never had a good car buying experience - I would rather have a root canal. Ali and the staff at Gunn Acura changed that for me - they are FABULOUS! The young man in the finance dept. - Mr. D - he too was kind, professional, and informative, he did not push the extra warranties on me. I would not hesitate to refer any of my friends or family to the staff at Gunn Acura, and especially to Ali. He conducts himself as I wish all car sales persons would - respectful of my time, and always a professional. I also purchased some accessories for the exterior of my vehicle, and can tell you my experience with the Gunn Acura service team was also FABULOUS. They too, made me feel very valued.

I tried scheduling an appointment that required towing with what I came to learn was just a call center. After being disconnected twice, and having to explain my situation twice, I finally ended up in Sandy's capable hands. It was at the end of a very hectic day and I was very frustrated by this point, but Sandy listened and offered to call my roadside assistance to schedule a tow truck to pick my car up the following morning, She assured me she would take care of everything. And she DID! Not only was the brake problem unrelated to the car (a rock had made its way into the caliper guard), they did not charge us to remove it and did it the same day. Sandy -you've won customers for life. Thank you!

Will Chadry was our salesperson and he was probably the best we have ever dealt with. When we first arrived we asked for someone else. Wil did not care. That person was gone for the day. Will still took us for a ride in the SUV that we wanted to see as we had driven from another area to see it. Will told us the policies of Gunn Auto, told us about the vehicle, gave us as much information as he could. As we were leaving, Will even told us what time the salesman we asked for would be in the next day. Once we left my husband and I talked and decided we wanted to buy the car from Will. He is very honest and worked with us very well. The next day that's what we did. Will then turned us over to Moe, he also is very helpful. My husband was going to shop his own loan but Moe was so good we let him handle it. If These two young men are truly a very good example of all Gunn employees then you have an amazing company!!!!

Mike Juarez is a great guy. Made my wife and I feel comfortable and did not rush us at all. It was more like test driving with a friend that was knowledgeable than a salesman trying to push you to buy something. He was and has still been great at communicating with us and helping with any questions we may have. The other team members were very helpful as well. All around great shopping experience, and now that we have taken our RDX in for it's first service, all went well there as well.

I received a recall on the air bag for my Acura RDX in March. The letter stated that a loaner car would be available to the customer if they felt unsafe. When I called to request a car my phone calls were never returned. I called in June and 2 times in July. I did not hear back so I called the 1-800-382-2238 for help. They contacted the dealer on July 7, July 8, and July 12 and the local service department was suppose to call me back but they did not. The deal never contacted me until an air bag was available in late July. When I set up an appointment they told me that they were unable to give me a loaner car for the day because they did not have one available. I had to reschedule the appointment for a week later to be able to get a loaner car. It was the WORST service I have ever experience. I spoke to the service manager and of course he said he never received my messages, but he could not explain away the calls that customer service had made to him on my behalf.

I purchased my 2014 pre certified Acura RDX last October, 2015. This was my first vehicle to buy as a single woman. Frank sumadi was both courteous & informative without pressuring me into something I wasn't ready to do. He also took the time to go over every feature on my RDX & programmed my Sirius & navigation system for me! This took a lot of stress off of me in getting familiar with my RDX.I've enjoyed my RDX & have had it serviced twice this year & have had positive experiences both times. Charles was courteous, helpful & informative of what service items were needed. I appreciated his assistance, as well as Frank's, on all my car needs.

I bought a pre-owned Volvo from this dealership. I purchased the extended warranty that covered everything including tires. When I first purchased the car and took it home, I found that the passenger side seat belt did not work. Well low and behold they did not want to fix it. I had to argue with the general manager to have it covered, and the Volvo dealership made that happen. Now less than four months of owning the car, I got a flat tire, and when they went to fix it, 3 of the 4 wheels are bent. So I went to Discount Tire, and they called my so called extended warranty, and low and behold they would not cover it. Not surprised!! Then I was told the front two tires were bald, no surprise there either. If I were a consumer I would never nor recommend this dealership to anyone. They took my money, I even asked the finance guy these specific questions, and he assured me up and down these types of things are covered. Well they are not, and its a shame that I pay for a car, bought the extended warranty to cover these things, and now I had to put another 1000.00 out of pocket. Please beware of this dealership and the sharks that work there.

My MDX is 10+ years old, but has only 91K miles. I bought it new here and all my service has been done by Gunn. I have always been treated fairly, and any service problems were attended to properly and promptly. I think the head of the Service Department, Mr. Long, runs a tight ship. I've had a driver's license for 60 years and can say without equivocation that this dealership, Gunn Acura, is the best automobile dealership I've ever dealt with.

Carla did a tremendous job of my most recent service visit. I was concerned about the cost of replacing my left front blinker, which involves quite a bit of labor these days. The cost was surprisingly reasonable. I needed an alignment, and they took care of that for me, too. Carla welcomed me as soon as I drive in, she called and filled me in during the service, called when service was complete, and met me when I arrived to pick up my car. And, I always love having my car freshly washed. Carla and Acura service were the best.

I called a week before and also requested a rental. I spoke with Charles in the service department. He was professional, knowledgable and very accommodating. I wanted to have my air bag replaced due to the recall. He scheduled my vehicle for the maintenance, the air bag replacement recall and reserved a rental car for me. He sent me a reminder the day before. The day I dropped my car off he greeted me, he asked me what time he needed to have my ready. How awesome was that!! I always ask for an estimate, so there was no surprise when it came time to pay for the service. Charles called me 30 minutes early informing me my vehicle was ready. When I picked up my vehicle it was clean, shiney and tires armoralled. Wow!! He is an exemplary Acura team member that others should follow, Charles has always provided me with outstanding customer service each and every time.( probably over 30 times) in the past 10 years.Here's the kicker, I never wrote a review, Shame on me! Carla is the one who takes care of my RDX when I have it serviced by Gunn Acura. She always ask if I want to other items to be checked with my RDX. Last time I was ther, I told her there is a stain in the leather seat that I cannot remove with my cleaner. She got the cleaner and started cleaning it until the stain is gone.

First of all, let me say I love my 2012 Acura TL! The dealership awesome and professional. My sales experience was very laid back, Frank was patient and knowledgeable, smooth buying of the car. He even sends a birthday email occasionally which is nice. The service department is exceptional. I had Judy for a short period of time, she was great. My current Service Advisor since then has been Charles. He explains everything to me on what is needed, works with my schedule, very courteous, pleasant, and listens. My car is well taken care of (mostly regular maintenance, my car gives me little else to fix!) Always comes back to me with a wash and vacuum which is an extra plus. The wait room, if staying for car, is clean and usually has snacks and drinks, coffee in the morning, and television to watch. Everyone is nice. Great place to buy and service a car, Love Gunn Acura.

Judy Pritchett is the ONLY Service Manager in my opinion. Ever since Pat Enriquez unceremoniously disappeared, Judy is the only Service Manager that is comparable to Pat in terms of customer service. She's personable, efficient and thorough, and doesn't try to upsale us with stuff we don't need and keeps service costs reasonable. We've had some interactions with a couple of the other current Service Managers and let's just say, if Judy isn't available, we'll likely trek to Austin to service our cars.

Andrew had the exact MDX that I wanted to see. We took a test drive in which he explained everything thoroughly, but didn't go overboard. I took my car in on 5/14 for A13 service and I also had the service department replace a PVC valve that was brought to my attention during a previous visit. During my visit my worn tires were brought to my attention. Tomas the service person informed me that he could get me into the same tires and match discount tires prices after I told him I would take the car to discount tires for the new tires. I told him if he was able to match the tire prices I would give him my tire business. After about 1 hour since Tomas stated he would match discount tire prices and the same tires I went looking for Tomas and ask what the price of the tires would total. Tomas told me he would get right back to me. After 45 min he came back to with a price that was much higher than expected since I had look up the tire online. After I ask why the tires were so expensive he informed me that Discounted Tires had sold me the wrong tires for my car. The set of tires he was selling me where $40 more per tire and he stated were correct tires for my car. Never mind that both Discount Tire and Consumer Reports had highly recommend my previous Michelin Pilot Tires. These Michelin Primacy tires were Acura recommended the right tire for my car according to Tomas. I've been a customer of Gunn Acura since 2008. I've had 100% of my oil changes completed by Acura and most of my car issues addressed by Gunn Acura. The exception being a alternator and starter replacement because the dealer could not get to my car for at least a week when this occurred. After my most recent experience with Gunn Acura service I have to question if the service department puts commission in front of a good value for it's customers. I went to the Gunn Acura website and I don't see one TL with Primacy tires and I have to wonder is Tomas gave me lip service when he told me that the Primacy tires were the tires needed on my car. I guess Discount Tire and Consumer Reports were wrong? Gunn Acura why don't you sell cars with Primacy Tires? I see a lower price Potenza tires which is what was on my car when I first bought my car. The comments above are for Tomas and refer to my most recent visit.

Took my TL in for service for a saturday appt. i arrived late but Thomas still took my car in without delay. I asked them to look at a loose mirror and an SRS warning light in addition to my A1 service and they took care of it in a timely manner (3hr). They did not have the color I wanted without hail damage in the MDX when I went in on Wednesday afternoon, but got the black MDX at the dealership and ready for me to take home by Thursday afternoon. This is the second post I write in less than a month. My experience with this company has been probably the worst I have ever had. I bought a car which they insisted had been serviced and checked with an 85 pt check. Not only were there two lights not working and the oil of this car not been changed, but the car was smoking and burning oil only a week and a half after I bought it. Makes you think that their 85 pt check was very superficial, if at all true. They took a week and a half to diagnosed a problem that was obvious: there was a problem in the engine. They have to fix the cylinder head. They have had the car now for almost three weeks and still cannot comfirm when I will get it back. Frankly I think they are waiting for the 3 months warranty to run out, so that if I find any more problems I will not be able to claim. Even though they have had the car longer than I have since I bought it. Really this place seems like a racket.

My Acura RDX had a recall, Gunn paid for my rental while we waited for the parts to come in and then when the parts were in, they repaired my car the same day and all I had to do was drive the rental to the dealership and my car was repaired, clean and waiting for me. Went in to test drive the TLX - having been an 12-year owner of a TL and loved every year of it - and walked out with an RDX. Love the model. Erik was easy going, helpful, informative and cared to ensure my shopping experience was easy. It was a much smoother process than I recall from 12 years ago at a different dealership. I feel like I have been RIPPED OFF. I bought a used Nissan Sentra 2.0 2007 from GUNN Acura on March 17, 2016 after they had repeatedly mentioned that the car had been serviced and checked with an 85 pt check. The next day I noticed that the car had two lights (one in the front and one of the break light) not working and had to take it in. The following weekend as I checked il level I noticed the oil was quite dark and probably had not been changed. Because this was Easter weekend, my husband said we should take it to change oil the following weekend. You would think that if it had been serviced and check, the oil would have been changed. That week (our second week in possession of the car) my husband was stopped on the road because the car was releasing smoke through the exhaust every time he started at a traffic light. We also checked the oil level that evening and noticed that the oil was extremely low and dark. We added a quart to make sure the engine would not burn when we drove it back to the dealer. We went back to GUNN Acura to have the fix this problem which is obviously an engine problem where the car is burning oil big time. They received the car and said they would call us back. Two days later they called me telling me that they would change the spark plugs and I should remember that the warranty had a deductible of $100 for this service. Knowing that the problem was more than a spark plug problem, my husband and I went in to talk to the service department. After about an hour and a half they finally agreed to have it checked properly and make sure the engine problem would be fixed. The next day the notified me that the car was being sent to the Nissan dealership to diagnose the problem. I have not heard back from them since. This is five days after that and a week since I left the car at GUNN Acura and when I call I just get bounced from one person to another, but no one will take responsibility and let me know what is going on with the car that I now have to pay for with interest, but do not have and don't even know where it is. I am surprised of the inability to diagnose a car problem, that any other mechanic could diagnose easily and the lack of communication and responsibility. I feel like this is a RIP-OFF. Once you buy it really does not matter what happens next. They get their money thats all that matters. You can get a lemon and it is your fault for trusting their lies. Today is April 9, 2016, I bought the car three weeks ago and only drove it for two weeks.

Great experience beginning with scheduling for an oil change and reserving a loaner with Julian. Once I arrived, Javier made sure I was well informed on the service options and price. I had driven off in a loaner, which Giancarlo (porter) helped me without hesitation when I couldn't figure out the many new features in the car. My car was ready within an hour and Javier called to let me know as well as to assure there was no rush for pickup. I took advantage of the time since they finished promptly and asked for a quote on a part I'd been putting off. They happily completed that as well. Last month my wife and I went looking for a new crossover. We had already decided that the new vehicle would be either an Acura or a Lexus. We went to the Lexus dealership here in San Antonio first, we were treated with the usual slow paced (trying to steal your trade) crap for over 3 hours. We test drove and liked the vehicle, but the sales person and his assistant gave us basically no info or specs about the vehicle except that it was a Lexus and had a turbo engine, all they wanted was a sale! When we left we were stopped at the door by the sales manager offering more money for our trade, it was too late, my wife and I were fed up and wanted nothing more to do with the dealership. Three days later we went to Gunn Acura to look at the Acura RDX. Our salesperson "Frank Sumadi" greeted us right away and within a few minutes we had pretty much settled on want we wanted. For the next 30 minutes Frank explained every thing about the vehicle. We were very impressed with the knowledge Frank had regarding standard features and the differences between the different levels available. We went for a test drive with Frank and he did a fantastic job explaining the features. While were out our trade in was being appraised. When we got back to the dealership after a great test drive we waited about 10 minutes and were presented with a extremely fair value for our trade. I'm not an impulse buyer, so we told Frank we had to think it over for a few hours. When we left about an hour and a half total time had passed and we didn't feel worn out. Frank was very gracious as he walked us to our car, NO HIGH PRESSURE! Later that day we called Frank back and purchased the Acura RDX. GUNN ACURA gave us the nicest car buying experience we had ever had and Frank Sumadi is the most knowledgeable sales consultant we had ever met. Thank-you Frank, we love our new Acura! Alan & Sonya

Tony Alvarez. Always a gentleman and easy to communicate with. Second time to buy Acura with Tony. Had a 2014 Acura TL and found for us it was just too low to the ground. Traded for the RDX which suits us much better. Like the vehicle, like the salesperson. Only downside was the high rate of depreciation for the 2014TL...expected better value.RDX rides well and drives easily. I had been eyeing a 2006 Ford Mustang at Gunn Acura for a few days. Stopped in on 10/27/14, met with the sales consultant Frank Sumadi. I have purchased from Gunn Dealerships several times in the past. So I knew I'd be walking into a positive situation. However, this was my first at Gunn Acura. Frank took me on a test drive, and pointed out how well maintained the vehicle was and that he personally knew some history on it. It was actually in excellent condition in my opinion and only had 29K miles. Needless to say, I was sold. Now I know I keep going back to Gunn. Good product, Good service, and last but not least Good People.

Mike Juarez was a "no Pressure" type of guy that made me feel welcome, He was very knowledgeable about ACURA products and gave me enough information to mull over. After leaving GUNN Acura I test drove several other vehicles that ranked in the top 5 with the RDX, but decided to come back to GUNN and get my ACURA. I only had one issue about my experience, was being told by the one who valuated my car that I couldn't haggle on the trade in value, mainly because other dealers had offered me 2 grand more, but other than that, I definitely will recommend buying from Mike. I purchased a used vehicle from Gunn Acura abut one year back. We also own a Honda Odyssey and have always had it serviced at Gunn Honda down the road. We have never had service issues with Gunn Honda, even with them doing tremendously more volume then Gunn Acura AND that the Honda is supposed to be the "lesser" product line versus the Acura. But here is a summary of the pathetic service experiences we have endured with Gunn Acura: scheduled two appointments on-line only to NOT be in the system BOTH times upon arrival, two times the maintenance indicator light was not reset, and never have we waited two hours or more at Gunn Honda for basic service. My business has been blessed this year, and my intent was to purchase another MDX at years end. However at this point, I do not intend to return to Gunn Acura. For the caliber of vehicle, I expect much more on the service side. I have read several other reviews on Gunn Acura stating the exact same problems I have noted here. This leaves me feeling that the service department at Gunn Acura is not professional, not dedicated, and lacking in proper management and oversight. Should i have the capability to open an Acura dealership in San Antonio, it would be very simple to out perform Gunn Acura by simply catering to the clients in a proper manner. I believe that by having a general monopoly in San Antonio as the only Acura dealership they have chosen to become complacent in their service. Just in case their market research indicated otherwise, servicing vehicles is more often than not tedious, money you can think of many other ways that you would like to spend, and typically a weekend chore that is time you would rather spend elsewhere. Thus, having a service experience that actually helps ease the stress of maintaining a vehicle is critical to the overall experience of owning that product.

On 19 April 2014 I was introduced to a sales person by the name of Brian Wallace. My 2010 lease of my 2010 TSX was expiring. Brian starting assisting me with checking into the status of my account. I was very impressed with the manner in which Brian started checking into my account. He kept me well informed on every process. Purchased a 2014 TL, Peter Eng was able to perform a dealer trade at the factory for manual 6 speed. Very happy with the car. Peter was great, not pushy, very informative and giving advice to keep the price down when it came to options. I have yet to go to a finance department that has not irritated me in someway. The finance person tried to sneak paper work in, to get me to finance through them, even though I wanted to finance directly with my bank, TRICKY.ADVICE FOR ACURA PURCHASERS: Acura is made by Honda (some people do not know this). Certified Acura warranties (Honda Care Warranties) can be purchased from a Honda dealership. The day I bought my car, I purchased a 6 yr. 120,000 mile extended Certified Acura warranty for $1,600.00 from Benson Honda which was $800.00 less than the SAME one from Gunn Acura. I also saved $1000.00 on a Chevy extended warranty through Benson when buying an Avalanche from Gunn Chevrolet. Do your homework. And when the finance person says warranties from Honda dealerships are not the same, call BS! My 2005 TL extended warranty was also from Benson Honda and was honored and registered with Acura. My 2005 TL had 200,000 miles with few mechanical problems, 3 window regulators and a sensor. The service department managers are some of the friendliest I have had to deal with. My only disappointment was having the check engine light turn on after replacing my timing belt, which the computer showed as a cylinder misfire. The tech turned off the engine light and said he could not find anything wrong and that it was possibly bad gas. HHHMMMM 5 years of using the same gas station (Exxon at IH10 and UTSA Blvd) which the service manager said she uses also. Well the check engine light continued to come on every 15,000 to 30,000 miles for the same thing. Autozone would print out the reason for the engine light for free. Since it didn't seem to effect the cars performance I ignored it.I cross my fingers and hope my 2014 TL is as reliable as my 2005 TL. We also have a 2013 MDX after dumping our 2009 Pilot for burning oil. Beware the variable cylinder management motors (VCM) from Honda, some burn oil. Honda was sued for this, and can be found online. We picked up the MDX before the 2014 came out with the VCM engine. We keep our cars for a long time and the fuel savings would not offset the A$$ pain of a $5000.00 engine repair for burning oil.Good luck to you all.

This is my 8th new Acura. I have only purchased 2 of those 8 at the same dealership. Needless to say, I have had all types of experiences at different Acura dealerships. I have to say that working with Peter Eng at Gunn Acura and all of the Management that I met while going through the buying experience was different than any other Acura dealer I have experienced in the past. Stay away from Gunn Acura or you may find yourself in the same position I did... They don't care about their customers nor do they care about customer retention.I have gone to Gunn Acura on a number of occasions to service my 2008 Acura TL Type-S and the first couple of times thought that it was a decent dealership.Then I ran into a service problem surrounding my warranty on my radio which produced a pop in my speakers when my car would start. Also I would get an intermittent drop in sound that would last for a second or two while the radio was on the tuner and signal strength was good. They got advisement from their Acura Tech line to replace the radio. Once they replaced the radio (different version of the radio and also re-manufactured) I asked that they also inspect my car.I got my car back only to find that there were scrapings all over my car from the removed inspection sticker and then started noticing scratches on my dash and my AC vent bezel. After looking over the area more I found scratching on my kick panels and aluminum trim on the drivers side. Then I drove the car and realized that my AC wasn't responding to the buttons and the temp wasn't being displayed. Turns out they left my AC disconnected behind the dash after installing my radio. This left my AC and heater on full blast and they told me I would have to wait a few days to get another loaner so they could fix the issue.After pointing out the damages to the Service Director Larry Long he agreed that this was poor service. They had some of the interior fixed by an interior guy and ordered the part for the aluminum trim. After I got my car back I also noticed two other chips on my dash near the Nav and the radio along with some scratching on my carbon fiber shifter. Once I pointed this additional findings out to Larry he asked me when this was going to end and that he couldn't replace my entire interior knowing full well that his service tech damaged my car.During the final repair of my interior at the dealer, after the warranty repair was completed on the radio, they took it upon themselves to put 400 miles on my car to supposedly try and identify the shifting, steering, and radio issues that still existed. I was in awe over the fact that they put this amount of mileage on my vehicle and flabbergasted that they saw no issue with this. After putting that much mileage on my car they turned it back over to me saying that nothing was wrong even though the pop in the stereo still existed when the car was started. Yes that very same pop that they decided was a problem and switched the radio out for under manufacturer warranty.After the car was returned to me I was told that they would no longer provide service on my car under warranty and that they would only work on my car if I paid them hourly to do so.Now I am in need of an oil change so I scheduled an appointment with Gunn Acura, drove across town to make that appointment, only for them to tell me that they were no longer going to work on my car after I already drove from Boerne to San Antonio to make this appointment.Being that they are the only Acura dealer and service center in town I am now either forced to drive to Austin every time I need service which is around a 150 mile round trip or I will have to sell my car quickly at a low rate and take a hit to get rid of my Acura.The two things that came of this experience was my realizing the Gunn Acura dealership is a terrible place to expect to be treated well in keeping with the make of cars they service and if this is the precedent the Gunn Acura dealer follows then I'd hate to see what the other Gunn dealers that aren't high profile follow and do to their customers.In closing, if you use the Gunn dealers to buy a vehicle or service your vehicle then you best beware and watch out so you don't end up in the same position of being forced to sell the car you were once so eager and excited to own only to have that destroyed by the repeated bad experiences of the Gunn dealer / service center.UPDATE: I tried one last ditch effort to find resolution to this issue by calling the corporate offices of Gunn and the lady that serves as the corporate liaison laughed at me for doing so multiple times explaining that she would not help me and my concerns and requests will not be considered. The lack of professionalism that Gunn has obviously runs to the top from their dealerships to their discourteous and unprofessional corporate staff.Time to say goodbye to my 2008 TL Type S thanks to Gunn Acura!!!

I have been to many car dealerships (Mercedes, Lexus, BMW, & Nissan) prior from purchasing my Acura TSX, I must say that at Gunn Acura I have been treated with Outstanding Professional Customer Service and Respect! They focus/listen to what the customer's needs are and work with you to make your vision of your perfect car purchase happen. Unlike other Acura dealerships, they have a "One Time Competitive Low Price" program that discounts $3-4K off of car price tags and no negotiations is necessary. The sales consultants there are all paid salary so they do not badger you into getting a car like the typical car salesman. Gunn Acura does all of the research for you and provide you with the lowest competitive rate against their competitors. I know its hard to believe that a dealership is willing to do that for its customer but from my personal research and long far trips to 3 other Acura dealerships (2-Houston & 1-Austin), I realized Gunn Acura is truly a very honest and trusting dealership. My experience with the other dealerships does not come any where near the EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE I had at Gunn Acura. Everyone is super friendly/knowledgeable and treat every customer with value before & after purchasing your car. I strongly recommend Gunn Acura to everyone and will definitely come back to this dealership to purchase another vehicle!! Paul the customer service salesman, and Andy the finance director, were outstanding, really went the extra mile to help me get financed at a great rate. Also purchased the Blue Steel package with window tint, which looks great. They even helped me out with a loaner car while the tint was being applied.I was skeptical about Gunns, no hassel one price, but not anymore, I am sold. I purchased a used 2004 Acura TSX from an individual seller off of Craigslist a few months ago. I absolutely LOVE my car but the headlights stopped working due to a leak in the headlight. I was about to replace the headlight at my own cost, but I decided to see if Acura was aware of any issues and come to find out they knew all about it. The service rep told me to bring it on it and that would get it all taken care of. They had a TSB (technical service bulletin) for moisture in the headlights that covered it all. So I got two new headlights on my 2004 TSX (8 years old with 130,000 miles) for free b/c they acknlowdged it was their fault. AMAZING. And to top things off they gave me a loaner car that I could use for the 48 hours they had it in their shop while they waited for the headlights to come in. I thought the loaner car would be some older model (like mine), but oh no! It was a brand new 2013 Acura ILX with only 1300 miles and every bell and whistle. I think they were hoping I would go ahead and upgrade...which was very hard not to do!All in all, a wonderful experience. I think I am going to be a very long time Acura owner if not a life time owner after having such a great experience from beginning to end with my car. Thanks Gunn Acura!

At the time I first visited Gunn Acura, my car had been totalled and I needed to find another quickly. I had been looking everywhere without much success. When I got to Gunn Acura I explained my dilema and what I wanted. They did a search of their entire Gunn inventory, based on my criteria, and came up with two great choices that fit my needs. No other dealer went to this much trouble. I was looking for a used car and did not want to have car payments if possible. I had gotten approval for a loan from USAA to cover anything over what they were giving me for my totalled car. The interest rate was kinda high, but thought that was the best I could do. When Peter Eng saw the letter and the interest rate, he went to Joe who went to work for me. He got me an interest rate that was SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the USAA rate, and included enough to cover an extended warranty. I have a car payment, but it is only $250.00, and not for a long time either. They noticed a gash in the bumper that the prior owner had tried to hide. Before they let me take the car, they repaired the bumper properly and even gave me a new Acura to drive while they fixed my car. (Highly recommend that car, by the way!) Peter drove my car to the office where I worked (Floresville) after it was repaired, so that I did not have to make another trip into San Antonio or take off work. The 90 day Acura warranty was something that made me feel better about purchasing a used car. I have been back a couple times after buying my car and Peter has always been there to be of assistance! These guys are awesome!! This is where I will go from now on for any auto purchase or repair. Way to go Gunn Acura.

I had an 'Ok' experience buying my vehicle here at Gunn Acura. First, I understood that there was no haggling with the price of the vehicle. I was disappointed that I couldn't at least talk or negotiate the price. The vehicle is in very good condition. I was also disappointed with the lack of follow-up; i.e. not even a card or letter expressing the sale.

After owning my 1994 Toyota Camry for almost 12 years and running up 298,000 miles, it was time for me to move on to a new vehicle. I just wasn't sure what kind of vehicle I wanted. I knew I didn't want a big sedan, nor too sporty of a car. One of my daughters owns an MDX suv, and an older daughter owned an Acura Legend, so I have had my eye on the Acuras for a while. Nevertheless, I research just about every model, and I especially looked over scores of owner's reviews. I found out that Acura car owners, compared to other Make owners, were by far, if not unanimously, the most satisfied customers. The TSX received rave reviews. With these findings, I decided to go look at the TSXs at the nearby Acura dealer. I test drove a TSX and nothng had to be said after that. I was sold on the car. The TSX had a smooth, quite and comfortable ride. I loved the luxurious ambiance the TSX offered with the leather seats and sun roof, and the size was perfect for me. However, my wife and I had budget constraints to work with. Then, Peter Eng came into our lives. Peter is the consumate professional. There are salespersons who don't want to engage the customer, they just want you to purchase the vehicle and be on your way. Peter is unassuming and very approachable, and is committed to his customers. Using Gunn's "Simple Price" policy, he was committed and determined to find us a TSX that would fit our budget. Peter's due diligence, professionalism, patience, knowledge of product, and wittiness, were very instrumental in ultimately my wife and I selecting the TSX that we did. I took my TSX to the Acura service department to have accessories installed, and the customer service was second to none. They were courteous and attentive, and getting the loaner car was the cherry on top. I love and am enjoying my TSX. Thanks Peter.

We had heard about the MDX and were looking for a crossover equivalent to the Lexis 350. What we found when we got to Gunn and met Peter Eng was the consumate gentleman offering technical expertise on a great car. After deciding on the car, I worked with a knowlegable, friendly guy in financing, and left after individualized instruction and the promise of additional training. Since owning the car I feel as though I have had numerous opportunities to obtain assistance in learning about the features of my fabulous RDX.

When my 2002 TL was totaled, I did not hesitate to go back to Gunn Acura to look for another car. I was fortunate to work with Peter Eng and was impressed with how hard he worked to get me into the right car. It took a little while, but he was able to get me into a used TSX and I love it! I have recommended Gunn in the past and will continue to do so in the future.As another note, the TL that was wrecked had 233,000 miles on it and was still running great! The service department at Gunn Acura was the ONLY place I took my car, whether for a routine oil change or full service major maintenance. Pat Enriquez and the staff in the service department have always provided top quality work and customer service. Wow! Not my first rodeo buying a car; new, used or luxury, but the best experience ever by far. From the moment I strolled onto the lot after I parked my Equinox, I was made to feel like Ernest had all the time in world to devote to me and what I was looking for, never a moment feeling any pressure or hearing a "sales pitch", their philosophy is transparent, genuine and they really are a team.I rolled out of there 1 & 1/2 hours later in my baby! I named her Lola and told Ernest that.. because what Lola wants, Lola will get from Gunn Acura. Well, when I returned a week later to get accessories installed and gave my name in the Service Depatment, I was greeted by SEVERAL people with "Oh, you're Lola's owner. We've been expecting you!" I CRACKED UP. Anybody goofy enough to name their car is going to appreciate THIS level of personalized service, naturally... her special license plates are being made as we speak and I'm looking forward to many, many years of bringing her back to their wonderful service department. Oh, and the loaner I had while she was getting beautified? SUWHEET! A local dealership (Volvo) had my volvo for TEN DAYS once in the past and acted like I was "outta my mind" when I requested a loaner...sheesh. Had to get UGLY w/them to get one. I am an Acura girl. This purchase is my third Acura. Even though I entered the dealership letting them know they automatically had my business, I was never treated in a way that indicated they felt they didn't need to compete for my business. Due to my schedule and a variety of other things the entire process took over 6 months. While they stayed in touch with me I never felt they were pressuring or rushing me. When I showed up or made inquiries they were ready to help. When I put the process on the back burner they understood that and backed off. I never ever felt they were bothering me or being annoying. I was always greeted promptly and in a very friendly manner. When I asked Mr. Eng certain questions when we were actually looking at cars he always encouraged me to try it myself; as an RN I believe this is one of the most effective ways for people to learn-by doing. My overall experience was wonderful. The day I picked up my car was so exciting. My cay was pulled up near the building in the shade and had a look of being on display. It was terrific.

The experience of buying a car from Gunn Acura was totally satisfactory in every regard. The decision to buy a new 2013 RDX was influenced by a number of factors. The introductory remarks by the salesman Peter Eng set the tone and atmosphere for the entire experience. Peter said that his employment with Gunn was based, primarily, on two considerations: first, he was selling a car that he never needed to apologize for (i.e. that the product sold itself); and second, he enjoyed the caliber of clientele that were normally interested in the cars that he sold. Peter's professionalism, thorough knowledge of Acura products, and personal charm played a major role in our decision to buy the car.

I went in on a Saturday 20 min before closing, with my 9 year old and pregnant wife in tow. Since I am going to have another kid I was eager to get rid of my two-door coupe Volvo C30 and buy something more sensible. Paul Bracken, our sales consultant, greeted us and was very friendly but not the cheesy kind you find elsewhere. He was a true gentlemen and genuinely interested in us making the right choice. We were interested in a TSX Wagon but I did not consider that car since I thought it would be underpowered by its engine. However, he offered us a secret route through the Hill Country with lots of turns, uphills, lots of possibilities to test the cars agility. We were convinced and started doing the paperwork. They offered me a very fair price on my C30, which is not exactly a very common car. They would not budge on the price for the TSX, I tried but the price was more than fair and very close to invoice. By ten it was one hour beyond their closing, but Paul, the appraiser and the finance person stayed to finalize the deal. I signed the papers, they helped to unload my old car and put everything into the new one and kept us hydrated with water and soft drinks. We were done in a total of 2 hours, including test drive, paperwork, finance (took only 15 min) and unload/load of personal belongings. I can recommend Paul Bracken as an outstanding consultant that made our purchasing experience a very positive one.

I bought a new MDX in 2007 from Gunn Acura (our second Acura from Gunn). At the time, I was so happy with the experience because I hate buying new cars and always end up feeling like I got a bad deal because I am not a good negotiator. I loved the MDX and drove it happily until recently. At almost 100,000 miles, I needed a new vehicle. I began researching my options. I need 7 seats so my options are somewhat limited. I visited many car dealerships over the past two months, test driving nearly every vehicle that is in the crossover family without being a huge SUV. I finally decided on either a Volvo CX 90 or another MDX. I began looking at out the door pricing for both vehicles and negotiated a price with the Volvo dealer. Gunn doesn't negotiate so the only question with the Acura was trade in value. Volvo gave me a great offer on the new car and Gunn gave a much better offer on my trade in. I finally decided to go with the Volvo, my only concern was the decision to take Gunn up on their 10 day offer for my trade in. Would they really give me a good trade in even though I had decided to buy a car somewhere else? I just left Gunn Acura with yet another great experience with them. They bought my old Acura at the agreed upon price. They were helpful and never gave me the feeling that I was putting them out by utilizing their 10 day trade in policy. It made me realize that these people put their money where their mouth is. They are trust worthy. They do not pressure. We will need a sedan in a few months to replace our second vehicle. I won't shop anywhere but Gunn for that purchase.My ONLY complaint is that their finance department is slow. If you are buying a car, expect to be at the dealership for several hours. Otherwise, this is genuinely the best car dealership I have ever dealt with. Five years of continued excellent service.

I recently purchased a 2009 Acura TL at Gunn Acura. Part of the appeal of this dealer is that they are highly rated. It is easy to see why. We were greeted outside by salesman, Peter Eng. He did not approach us but was easily approachable and ready to be of assistance. I let him know what I was looking for and had already done my research so I had a good idea of what their inventory was and that their vehicles were priced right. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had a no-haggle policy as I am used to having to fight for the right price and even more pleased when they came back with a very fair price for my trade-in. Everyone was very pleasant to deal with from our salesman, Peter, to the gentleman who appraised my trade in, the finance manager and even the security guard. I have honestly never had a more pleasant car buying experience and plan to keep dealing with Gunn in the future.

Having just moved to San Antonio from the UK I was in the market for two cars. I hadn't heard of Acura before but so far we have been very pleased with the product. It offers value for money with a great quality and finish. I was obviously new to the Gunn dealership and at first was skeptical about the simple price but I was pleasantly surprised. I found Peter Eng and the Gunn team to be genuine in their efforts to make the experience as best they can. As we were buying second hand we had to source one vehicle from another dealer just because Gunn didn't have the stock we were looking for. It really wasn't a pleasant experience compared to Gunn. I would highly recommend Gunn and in particular Peter Eng. At no time did I feel pressured in the sales process but rather a real focus to meet our requirements.

I purchased a vehicle back in September and I wanted to ensure I gave the salesman, David Fanning kudos. He did an excellent job helping find a vehicle. He was patient and kept me abreast of any vehicles that fit the Information I gave to him. The managers were ok, however their customer service skills could use some improvement. You could tell the genuineness of their conversation was "just doing their job". I also noticed how they interacted with men versus women, which was not the same across the board. It could be because there are no saleswomen to bring balance to the buying experience.I also had an opportunity to visit their service department where I was taken care of by the Service Advisor, Pat Gonzalez. She did an excellent job of ensuring the issue with the vehicle I bought 2 days prior was taken care of. The sad part about this entire issue was I had to pay the $100 deductible on bushings that I am not sure why were not checked prior to the sale. They did decide to replace my brakes for free but the brakes were a part of the 85 point inspection and should have been replaced during the preparation stage anyway. My point? Do it right the first time!This was my second time purchasing a vehicle from Gunn. This time I loved my salesman and the service advisor however I am not sure everyone is in on Gunn's vision. Areas of improvement? Finding people with the gift of selling as well customer service skills and people who take pride in ensuring the vehicles being sold have been thoroughly checked prior to the sale. I also recommend having more women on staff for balance.I definitley recommend the Salesman, David Fanning, Service Adviosr Pat Gonzalez Advisor in the Service Department and Salesman, Art Miller who if I did not purchase with David's assistance, would have been my next choice.

They answered all our questions and if one of them does not know the answer, they always find someone who can answer it. There was no sales pressure, sewers given time to think throughout decision. What brought us back to gunn Acura was Peter Eng, he was very accommodating and pleasant when we were there last August. My son test drove the RDX and he was impressed. Mr Eng explained every features to him even though he knew that we were not ready to buy at that time. He treated us very well.

However, Ive also grown tired of the game most dealerships seem to play these days. This was not the case with Peter Eng, nor anyone at Gunn Acura in San Antonio. I sensed a genuine caring and congenial nature from everyone I met, especially Peter Eng. Peter was extremely knowledgeable, open, honest, and fun to work with, as he has a great sense of humor. I plan to recommend Peter to everyone I know who is interested in purchasing a new vehicle.No, I didnt purchase an Acura, but that isnt because I didnt want to buy the MDX. My spouse made it clear that we needed a larger vehicle to replace my totaled Suburban. And so it will be, another Suburban.Regardless, great job Peteryou made our Gunn Acura experience outstanding.

We recently bought a new TL from Gunn Acura. Our salesman was David Fanning. HE IS AWESOME! When we bought the car we made a deal to bring it back to get the windows tinted. First time we got the windows tinted the quality was terrible. They did not wash the windows prior to applying the tint and there were small bits of dust in all the air bubbles. Also, they did not cut the tint to fit the window...it was too small and you could see where the tint was not covering the windows from the outside. I brought the car back to have the tint redone a week later. When I picked it up the second time, the tint job was still unacceptable with the same issues as the first time. One of the windows was not retinted....they literally did not retint it. I brought this to the managers attention and he lied saying he personally watched the man take all the tint off the car. I am extremely frustrated with Gunn Acura and the quality of work in regards to the tint job. We will be getting our money back and getting the tint redone (for the THIRD time) elsewhere. David Fanning is amazing. We would love to work with him again...but not at Gunn Acura. Not only will my husband I never buy from Gunn again, we will certainly not be having our car serviced there either.

We were In the process of purchasing a 2006 Acura RSX and when we were presented with the price breakdown. I questioned the Dealers Inventory tax that I was responsible to pay for. Even though it was a mere $25+ Im still a man of principle and dont believe I should pay for something the dealer is responsible for paying himself. This is a great example of how this particular dealer can pass on fees to their customers.I walked away to do more researching on the Internet and came upon this statement, The Dealers inventory tax charge is intended to reimburse the dealer for ad valorem taxes on its motor vehicle inventory. The charge, which is paid by the dealer to the county tax assessor-collector is not a tax imposed on a consumer by the government, and is NOT required to be charged by the dealer to the consumer.I called GUNN ACURA and asked if they could waive the $25+ fee and I will come in to do up the paperwork. GUNN ACURA did not accept my condition and explained to me that it was a sales tax paid to the county tax assessor and they were not willing to waive the fee. It saddens me that they were not empathetic to customers during these tough economic times and cared only about their bottom Line. Well, needless to say I did not do any more business with this dealership and will not recommend them to any of my friends and relatives. Im a military veteran and hope military folks and veterans alike, closely question this dealerships core values. Next time you go ahead with a purchase and think they are on your side, closely examine all fees tacked on to your final price and question the ones you arent sure about. If they werent willing to waive a $25 fee/tax, what other fees can they pass on to you? Or you can just skip this dealer and spend your money with a dealership whos willing to work with their customers.

I'm not a very good negotiator and Gunn takes all that worry out of the picture. It is truly a no haggle environment. Once they set the price that's it. Since they don't work on commission they don't push cars down your throat. They work with you and are very patient. I was missing some of the paperwork that I needed to finalize the deal, but they didn't seem to mind and they worked around it so that I could take my car home that night. I had a trade in for my car and I thought they were very generous on what they offered me for it. This is my second car that I've bought from them and after this experience I don't think I'll be going any where else.

I have yet to purchase, but what an experience. I was greeted by David in sales and I must say this was by far the best experience I have had since I began looking for a used vehicle. David took his time in showing the used Acura's I had requested to look at, it was a little late and we didn't fill rushed at all. The sales manager Ed help out when we had a few questions David was unable to answer about finance, and like David he was very courteous and pleasant to deal with as well. I will definitely be buying from the Gunn group.

Our relationship with this dealership has been outstanding so far. They have gone above and beyond what is normally required to make us feel comfortable in our negotiations for a vehicle. Their (Acura's) reputation as a superior vehicle dealership is well founded. Their availability of new vehicles was outstanding; in fact they had two vehicles to show us in the model, style and colors that we specified.I believe, based on the conversations I have had with the two employees mentioned above, that our relationship with Gunn Acura will be a rewarding one. They have expressed to me that they will not become a "disppearing salesperson" as so often has happened in the past.We just accepted delivery on our vehicle yesterday so I have not had an opportunity to evaluate their repair services. I met the service manager and she seemed real nice so I am looking forward to a satisfying experience with any repairs or corrections that may be required.

We called Gunn Acura in San Antonio regarding a used Lexus they offered for sale on June 27. We completed the credit application that evening and we were approved for financing the next day. We discussed all of the financing details regarding the downpayment, etc. and agreed to purchase the car on June 28. As we live 250 miles away from San Antonio, Tony agreed to drive part of the way to meet us so we could sign the paperwork and pick up the car. We asked if we could do this on Saturday, as they were closed Sunday and Monday for the 4th of July holiday. Tony told us he found a couple of scratches and wanted to get the paint touched up before delivery, so we would need to meet on July 5 or 6. We called and emailed over the weekend to follow up on the status of the paint job to see if we would need to drive down on July 5 or 6 to pick up the car. However, we received no response. We called the morning of July 5 and we were told they needed to call the shop and check the status of the touch up paint job. We received a call back informing us they sold the car to someone else over the weekend. Although we had been in discussions regarding this car for 10+ days and agreed to purchase the car one week prior, it was sold to a different customer. Furthermore, the finance department ran a credit check before they approved us, so now we run the risk of looking like we're trying to get credit all over the place if we find another car in the near future. Needless to say, we were VERY disappointed in the customer service. We had to be very proactive in our communication and messages were not always returned. We were willing to overlook this since the price was right and we were pleased with the car. However, they demonstrated that they lack organization and ethics. After conversations with the assistant manager (and the unreturned phone calls from the manager), we are still unsure if the car ever had scratches or was being repainted (as it clearly was not in the shop when it was sold). I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. To rectify this situation, we asked the general manager, Eric, to remove the credit check from our record. He said he would get back to us. In response to this negative review, Peter Holloway contacted us. I explained what we had requested from Eric and that we had not heard from him in a few days. Peter was the only person we dealt with at this dealership who took initiative and offered any customer service. I would rate our experience with him as very positive. Peter continued to follow up with us and see this issue through to the end. We never heard back from Eric again. It is my assumption that he knew Peter was helping us, but I've learned my lesson from assuming anyone at this dealership communicates with one another. It is unfortunate that Gunn Acura does not employ more people like Peter.

We were in a pinch to buy a nice SUV as our daughter was being transferred immediately with her company from San Antonio to Minneapolis in the beginning of the winter 2010. She definitely could not be driving a VW convertible in the Minnesota winter weather. We had heard, through friends in the San Antonio area, that Gunn Acura was reputable and honest. All of the good things we had heard were absolutely true and more. Richard Wright was our sales person and he could not have been more responsive to our needs and the needs of our daughter as she explained what meant the most to her in an SUV that she assuredly was going to need in Minnesota. Richard explained in detail the special features that really made the Acura MDX SUV attractive and set the bar very high for all SUVs. Our daughter was sold!!!! In a matter of a couple of hours our daughter had purchased the car and the detailing staff were taking the car away to have minor detailing done prior to delivery. The efficiency with which Richard and the entire staff operated was just outstanding. They made a very stressful and anxious time a lot more manageable. It was a pleasure, beyond words, to work with the team at Gunn Acura. Thank you for the seamless sales process of our daughter's most important purchase for many years to come.

My husband and I had done our homework on line and I had decided on the MDX for my vehicle. It was my Mothers Day gift. There were 2 MDX available with the options we wanted. Richard Wright was our salesperson. The test drive with the first vehicle was the one we decided to purchase. He answered all our questions and was very informed on the features of the MDX. We were able to go thru the paperwork process in a reasonable time. Richard went thru the navigation features before we left and offered to come out to our home to set up the garage door button if we couldn't figure it out. He set up the phone for for me so all I need to do is list the names. He told me to call him for any questions and even gave me his cell number. I am happy with my MDX, and with the experience we have had with the dealership.

Gunn is very nice to deal with because their sales people do not work on commission, so they don't pressure you. Also, the "One Simple Price" means there is no haggling. Additionally the financing will find the best rates around for you. They bought my trade-in and told me exactly why they were offering me the price that they were. I felt like there were no secrets. I have not owned an Acura until now. I found my car on line, emailed questions on the vehicle and had a phone response from Mr. Alvarez within 10 minutes. This is the quickest I have ever had a response. I went in test drove the car, went home to think about it, had a very nice email from Mr. Alvarz and the internet manger thanking me for coming in. No,pressure sales there. I went back and the rest is history. I noticed a couple of scratches and a ding in the door and they had no problem with fixing. Very helpful in financing. I have purchased several vehicles and this is the first time I did not feel like I had to make a decision on the spot. I look foward to a long relationship with Gunn and will purchase again when I am ready.

I initially went into the dealership to test-drive an Acura TL and came out the same day a totally satisfied customer. The friendliness of the staff is by far the best I have ever seen. I will definitely recommend this dealership to anyknow I know. From the time I hit submit on my on-line submission, I was immediately impressed with the professionalism of my sales person (Tony Alvarez). He provided me an indoctrination of the vehicle from hood to trunk and also provided me other options if the car was outside of my budget. He listened to my concerns and was never pushy about me purchasing the vehicle. The one-price guarantee made it extremely easy and efficient to complete the purchase. The appraiser was courteous and did a thorough walk around with me for my trade in and provided me a good price for my vehicle. Chris Zapata in finance was also patient with my questions and concerns and explained to me the various options that I could purchase to protect my investment. I came back days later to pick up my vehicle and minus one issue (that was immediately solved by my salesperson) the car was beautifully detailed. I will say that this was by far the very best experiences that I have had with purchasing a vehicle. After years of leasing and purchasing, I just today had the most positive experience working with any car dealership--ever. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed the buying/leasing process at Gunn Acura in San Antonio. Special shout outs go to Adam Segner, sales; Pete Holloway, sales manager; and Andy Mendez in finance. Their sales philosophy is one that would serve all dealers well. I went in "just to take a look" and several hours later, after testing a number of cars on the lot, I happily drove out with a lease on a 2011 TL.I arrived at the dealership late on a Friday afternoon, but I never felt hurried while there. Adam Segner was incredibly patient with me, letting me drive a number of cars while I listened to a score of cds to check out sound systems. Everything was straightforward, and the terms offered were better than I might have thought to ask for. He gave helpful advice when I asked for it, but never pushed one car over another. I found the Gunn Acura on DealerRater. They were the only dealership near me (ninety miles away) with a five-star rating. I would give them a five-plus if I could. If you live anywhere near San Antonio and are looking for an Acura, start with them. My guess is that you'll look no further. They also have an extensive selection of pre-owned vehicles. Everyone I met seemed committed to making the car-shopping experience a joy. My guess is that anyone who starts their car-shopping with Gunn Acura will buy from Gunn. I found that after visiting their dealership there was no reason to go anywhere else. I couldn't have been a happier customer when I pulled out of the lot in my new TL.

I really liked the Gunn method - one simple price. I usually hate shopping for a new car because there's so much pressure. I felt no pressure at all at Gunn. Even though I live about 80 miles from Gunn Acura and buying a new car closer to home would have been nice, I really think I made the best decision and I plan to go there again in the future when I need another vehicle.

My wife bought her '03 TL-S from Drew, and I must say he was easily the most informative salesman I have ever met. Even before we bought the car and were just looking he gave an in depth tour of the car and its features. We took a nice test drive that allowed us to experience the accoutrements and performance characteristics of the car.
