I wanted to trade in my car and purchase a new one. A friend suggested I look at the Hyundai as I had a bad experience with Ford. I absolutely hate trying to purchase a car. Usually I get a pushy salesperson who doesnt listen to what I want and I end up frustrated. But this time, I ended up at Hall Hyundai in Newport News, VA and met Lisa Bollhorst. I knew Lisa's motherinlaw and had "seen" her in public a few times. She showed me a couple of cars and I got some idea of what I wanted. I told her I wanted a blue Elantra with the larger computer screen. She did not have one in stock. But the next day, she called and told me she found one at another lot out of town and could have it at her lot in a day. So I gave her the go ahead. The car was exactly what I wanted and even had heated seats. I got a fair trade for my old car, money back from Hyundai and the car I wanted delivered clean and with a full tank of gas. Also got a $50 gift card to Target (hasnt been delivered yet but on the way). Now, I tell all my friends about Hall. Everyone there was professional, friendly and quick to make sure I was happy.

I would highly recommend Hall Hyundai of Newport News for all of your auto needs including service. I have purchased two new cars there and the buying experience is fantastic. As a woman, I have purchased autos in the past where I was treated in a pushy manner, charged more than I should have been and generally been bullied into a car. Here they are friendly, extremely knowledgable about the products, respectful and make the negotiations clear and honest. The closing session with the business manager is also fast, smooth and best of all- what they quoted you to begin with. My salesperson Chris Meadows was a joy to deal with.

I had a great experience going to Hall Automotive in Newport News . I was looking for a car not saying a new one but then I meet Mr. Melvin Martin. He took the time to show me used cars on the lot and brand new cars on the lot. I knew I wanted a Hyundai Elantra. I had been looking around a lot for used cars on web sites and on car lots but not finding anything that I really liked. Then Mr. Martin showed me the 2017 Elantra that I now have. I can't say or thank Mr. Melvin enough for helping me make the right decision. I would and have been speaking ever highly of him to friends and family. The overall experience with Hall Hyundai NN was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Talked to all of the departments and they know their stuff. Cashiers greeted me with a smile!!!! I was really impressed with parts dept on how friendly they were. The parts manager (Don) greets me with a hello and Zac and Vic (Parts counter people) were helping the other customers with a smile on their face. It felt good knowing people take pride in their work and they even gave me some ideas to get some accessorize my 2016 Genesis.

I was in serious need of a vehicle, for a traveling job position I just couldn't pass up. Even though I really, really didn't want a car payment the car I had was not going to survive the first trip. Mr. Bly was very nice and straight to the point. I didn't feel like he was trying to get over or take advantage of my need for a vehicle. I was put in a new vehicle that gets great gas mileage. We started shopping for a CPO vehicle for my god daughter to drive. I was leaning toward CPO so she's have the extended warranty and roadside assistance. Then a friend mentioned Hyundai had a lot of model year-end incentives and perhaps I should give them a look. I perused the website and thought I should go in and see just how good these deals were. Long story short: we found a car she liked (2016 Elantra) at a price that fit her budget. Freddie was friendly and professional. I told him what we were looking for and he put her in the car. No pressure to move up or down, no pressure to buy extra "stuff." And she is so excited with her new car. (And I am so happy she has the Hyundai warranty and roadside assistance.)

I was searching for a 2016 Hyundai and stopped by this dealership. This is the first time I had stopped to check out their cars. We were on the lot for approximately 30 minutes walking around looking at various vehicles. No salesperson ever approached to help. We later went inside and looked around the show room. Again, no one asked if they could help or even spoke to us. As we were leaving we say salespeople in the smoking area. We left and went and went to Tysinger where we were able to find the car we were looking for.

Terry was great, very personable, experienced, and enthusiastic. They seem to have a small service area, and had Terry doing a lot of the setup for a new sale. He had to put the plates and spare tire option in himself. He was still very enthusiastic even through this, which I felt was a bit odd since he is the sales person and not a mechanic. Overall great experience!

Although understaffed at the time of purchase, initially the general manager assisted me with my sale and then turned me over to a salesman. They accepted 2 trade-ins and processed the sale in a friendly, expedient manner. They were able to locate and transfer the car I wanted and delivered it that evening. The sales guy was excellent but the management sucks went to go look at a vehicle got there they said it would be there it. When I got there it wasn't there. They said it would be there in 20 minutes. 20 minutes turned into 2 hours. So When the vehicle arrived it was missing the tool box, bed mat, and hitch it was advertised with.So they said they would get me factory tool box it was advertised with.I took the truck on a 24 hour test drive there wasn't any gas in it I had to put gas in it myself just to get home. I have been waiting for what is going on three months. The manager told me it would take three weeks to get it when I called a month after having it. I called the dealer that has the box they said it only takes a day for the tool box to arrive. I then called the manager told him what the dealer said. He told me he wasn't going to spend that price on the box and was trying to talk be into just putting a cheap box in it and they would put the factory logo on it. When it was agreed on when I was buying the truck to put a factory gmc box in it.

After carefully researching a vehicle to tow my new travel trailer I stumbled on a 2013 GMC Terrain V6 AWD SLT on the Hall Elizabeth City, NC page. Since its only right down the road I went to check it out, found out that Hall puts all of their used vehicles on all Hall websites and this one was located in Newport News. Since I was already in the Newport News area later that week I decided to check it out. During the walk around I noticed on the driver side door, passenger driver side door and front fender it looked as if the clear coat was coming off. I was informed that if I bought it I would have the option of buying environmental protection plan (environmental clear coat). Ended up purchasing the Vehicle and the protection plan (At the time I was not informed that this plan was only good at this location) since I live in Elizabeth City two hours away. Drove back up there to drop my car off two days later for environmental protection and was turned away, they said it looked like it had been repainted some time ago which is where the fading came from (Car Fax was clean?). Took it for second opinion and was told it had been repainted (they showed me where I could prove it, since Im not a body shop mechanic). I then called Hall Hyundai Newport news a total of 15 times and spoke with four different managers from 17Aug-12Sep2015 (These Managers said they would call me back that day or the next when they figured it out. But I never received a call). The final time I called about this problem I received the used car sales manager Nate Hollis. He was very interested in what I had to say and super friendly (If only they can all be like Nate), I received a callback within three hours. I took my Car back to Newport News on the 14th of Sep to have that side painted and received it back on the 22Sep and It looks great. Will be taking it back next month to have the environmental protection plan put on and hope that all goes well. My final thought to Military would be, do not buy most plans they sell because you can only use at that location for free oil changes and coating and only Halls automotives for maintenance. I want to Reiterate Thank you Nate Hollis for helping me and you would be the only reason I would come back.

I was at the sales floor at 1200 today and the only one in the store. I was greeted by two gentleman who seemed nice and followed Harvey to his desk. We joked around and he was fun to talk to in the beginning as long as numbers weren't being discussed. Before I even told him what kind of car I wanted we were already going through the credit apps and signing a bunch of paperwork - thought it was weird but whatever I'll go with it. Get to the point of numbers - my credit isn't the best and I wasn't putting anything down other than my trade - a 2006 Toyota Corolla with 221,000+ miles. But I have worked with dealers all weekend and knew that I could get a Hyundai in the price range I wanted. Harvey wasn't really willing to play the game so he kept going to Farhad, who wasn't willing to play the game either. I heard "NO" alot but not what they offered to get me there. I broke down my calculations but nothing worked so I decided to leave. So now, I will buy a Toyota Corolla who is priced more than $2,500 more ticket price than their Hyundai Elantra at the price range I want because Farhad had tunnel vision and wouldn't think outside the box. Thank you Hall Hyundai for passing up my business I will now give it to someone who wants and deserves it. Phew, and I was ready to walk off with a car today.

He was very knowledgeable about my vehicle. He took his time to explain all the bells and whistles my vehicle came with! The finance lady (sorry, I don't remember her name) was awesome as well. She made the paperwork quick and also explained everything to me and was able to answer any questions I had with out hesitation. I also love the service department as well! I also own a 2006 Sonata and always take it to Hall for my service needs. Chris House is my service advisor and is always upfront with what repairs need to be done with clear pricing. That may be an odd way to say what I'm trying to convey, but my point is that often times the ones who work the hardest and provide the greatest service are the people in the back and who don't get the positive feedback that they deserve. Brenda you have been a great help to me with my service needs and you are an important part of why Hall Hyundai is such a great dealership. A lot of the people that you see are frustrated because they're cars need servicing which means their delicate schedules get knocked out of kilter. My company is part of the TRUECar program so they suggested 3 dealerships to visit while in my search for a new car. One was in Richmond, one in Chester and one in Newport News. Hall Hyundai advertised some great deals for Memorial Day Weekend. So after visiting the dealership in Richmond we drove down late one evening. Arrived at the showroom at 7:30pm. My family and I visited a local competitor (diff type of car) and Hall Hyundai. Mitch Williams greeted us kindly and answered our questions thoroughly. He was extremely knowledgeable about our vehicle of interest. Mitch was not pushy which we greatly appreciated. We were introduced to sales manager, John Hagood who was also very kind and helpful. After further research and dealer visits we returned the next day to purchase a Santa Fe. The color we wanted was not available but they went out of their way to locate one and also provided a competitive price without haggling. We also appreciated Farhan's help in the finance department and Murphy making our car spiffy before driving it off the lot. Felt the whole team did well. I searched for months for a particular used vehicle and finally found it at Hall Automotive in Newport News, VA. I feel lucky that the salesperson who first greeted me was Kris Platon (male). He knew the exact car I was looking for and in no time we were on the open road. The experience was relaxed, no pressure to buy and allowed me to make all observations regarding car performance. Processing was smooth, no haggling over price (I had only a set price I could pay), and we quickly had everything settled. There was no need for me to contact the DMV regarding tax, title, tag. They did it all. PLUS, Kris arranged for two of their employees to drive the vehicle to my home since I went there alone and really didn't know when I would be back with someone to take it for me. Now that was something I never thought would happen. The dearlership showroom and restrooms were open, extremely clean and a great place to do business. FYI: this is the only time I have bothered to review anything online, but these people deserve it, thanks to my experience with KRIS. Oh by the way, I get my next three oil changes free at Hall's.

This is a followup to my review I submitted two weeks ago on a 2013 Azera I am leasing from Hall Hyundai Newport News , VA (for less than my cable bill). I noticed some deep scratches on the front hood two days AFTER I leased the car. I was concerned and took it in to the dealer for some local work. But after the local repair guy did "his thing" both my service tech Brenda Messer and salesman Jamie Cornette agreed that more needed to be done...to get it perfect. I was offered a loaner, my car was picked up from my driveway, loaded on a lowbed tow truck it was sent to a body shop 30 miles away, and returned to me within three days. I never had to ask them to fix the scratches (redid the entire front hood) they just did and returned the car to me in pristine condition with a tube of fix it paint thrown in. My hats off to Halls Service Manager Craig Brown and his team especially Brenda Messer. She is the main reason I have bought four cars from this dealership in 5 years...once you meet her and have her work for you you will know what I am talking about.

Hall Hyundai made the car buying process easy and low stress! We started out at Hall Ford where the service could have been better, so we sought out Hall Hyundai next door. From the time we stepped in the door, it was a pleasant atmosphere - not at all what I expected from a car dealership. We were greeted by numerous staff members, yet no one ran over and tried to put us in a car we couldn't afford. Everyone was professional, helpful, and down-to-earth - from the sales staff to the new finance guy to the sales manager. Ashley Cline was a great pleasure to work with. She helped us find a financing plan to meet our needs and was able to explain the ins and outs of the buying process. It was a really stressful time for us, but she put us at ease and assured us that she would find a deal that would work with our budget. They are very lucky to have her. After buying a 2014 Santa Fe from Hall Hyundai, they were suppose to transfer my vehicle tags from the old car to the new car. Well they transferred my vehicle tags to the wrong county in Virginia and I received a tax bill from the new county! Then when I called the General Manager ( Mr. Scott Buckley) at Hall Hyundai and explained the situation, he stated he would research what had to be done and call me back. After two days of waiting no call back and I keep leaving messages on his voice mail! Also I talked to the Finance Manager (James) and he stated he did not submit the paperwork wrong, yet he's the responsible person for doing ALL the paperwork!

My wife and I have been loyal Hyundai car owner's until now! The customer service at Hall Hyundai is TERRIBLE! The General Manager and his New Car Sales Manager don't followup or keep their word during the sales and delivery process! The Finance Department fails to date the paperwork correctly and we had to come back to resign the paperwork! The Hall Auto Group Regional General Manager and President won't return phone calls, because they don't want to hear about the TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Between the Sales Department and Parts Department there was a constant conflict of what accessories you could buy for a 2014 Santa Fe, neither really knows! The customer is not the priority when buying a car from Hall Hyundai!

My experience with Hall Hyundai Newport News was very pleasant. Ashley was so sweet and helpful. Eddie and John helped me a lot with getting me approved with no $ down. They even gave me a higher trade in value than I expected on my 2003 Saturn Ion. We spent about 3 hours in the car dealership, which to my understanding is pretty average. I had the opportunity to test the new car before I drove off the lot. Ashley even took the time to show me how to set up my Bluetooth. I would definitely recomment Hall Hyundai...I was very nervous, and they made me feel at ease. I'm loving my new ride...2011 Hybrid Hyundai Sonata :)

There are other dealerships that could learn something form Hall Hyundai Service department. There is normally two reasons to use the service department, maintenance or ya broke something. In my case the bearing went out in my A/C unit. Summertime 91, need I say more. I called, they said; sure Com-on down... I did three hours later, done!! Now considering I live 45 miles from Hall;, what you say? Why not use someone closer? really ? HA; I am spoiled with the service department at Hall Hyundai. The whole team; Craig Brown, Brenda, Chris, (my adviser) all just great people I have been there many times and will continue to return.... oh, go bean town...................

I bought my new Hyundai Veloster in May of 2012. Now that I have had it for a few months I thought I would take a moment to write about the experience. In a word EXCELLENT. Alex Pauley was my salesman and couldn't have been nicer. The sales manager I dealt with was a fellow retired Navy man and was also a pleasure to work with. Overall an outstanding car buying experience and no those are no longer mutually exclusive terms, at least not anymore. I would definitely go back to Hall next time I want a new car. No pressure. Easy to work with and you get them feeling they are happy to be working with you. I got a good deal. Not a spectacular deal but am satisfied and that, as I was taught as a child, is the definition of a good deal. Nice price. GREAT car. If you haven't seen the Hyundai Veloster it's a head turner. I still get the "NICE CAR" thumbs up just driving it on a day to day basis. Might want to take a look, especially now that the 2013 turbo version is out.

My car was totaled in a flood and I was preparing to file for GAP insurance. I called the dealership, was transferred twice , calls rang back to the operator, and eventually ended up in someones voicemail. The person called back, I explained my situation that I needed a claim form, and was laughed at. He stated that in 15 years of doing his job, he had NEVER been asked for a claim form. I stated that I would read the statement on the insurance form that I signed, which stated that I COULD get a claim form from the dealer, or the Insurance company. He suggested that I contact the insurance company. I DO NOT appreciate being laughed at.......I called the dealership back after seeing a vehicle on their website that I was interested in, a Sante Fe. I asked repeatedly if it was available. I was told It was. I made an appointment to see it on saturday morning. This was thursday night. Got a call on fridaysaying the internet person was wrong....The car was NOT available. But the salesman said to give him a call, as he would have other options available. Called him back, he was with a customer, but would call me back with a SWEET deal......This was friday afternoon. Now I sit here on a wednesday afternoon, after reading the email, NOT a phone call, saying he was busy but would I be interested in a 2013? I don't think so......Got another car from a dealership who practices customer service.

Based on my latest experience with their service department, I would not recommend this dealership. I had the oil changed in my Santa Fe on Friday June 8th. Got there around 9:30am, I was told it would take between 45 min to an hour. At around 11am I saw my vehicle parked outside, so I asked if my car was ready, the guy checked his computer and said, yes it is! So I drive home, and that afternoon when my husband gets home, he tells me he had a message on his cellphone from the dealership saying that the car was ready, they left this message at 10am!! So this means that they forgot I was sitting in their waiting area, I waited for an hour and a half when I could have waited just half an hour. I wonder how long would I have been there if I hadn't checked with them if the car was ready, when were they going to realize that their client was sitting in their waiting area. I specifically told them "I will be waiting here", I was with my 8 months old son sitting right outside their door!

I would not send a dog to this location. I didn't have the best credit when I tried to trade carsand I knew it, but I was still embarressed and humiliated by the used car manager. I will never go to this locatin again. And I did trade with another dealer.

The sales associate should have a better technical knowledge of the vehicle. Also, she should have been better about returning phone calls, we called several times and did not receive a call back. She went above and beyond to get the exact car I wanted from another dealership within the notice of just one phone call. Last Friday i was looking for cars to see if any had any great deals because I was looking for a newer car 2006 and up with low miles. when i got off work that night my mom stopped by Hall Hyundai and we had met our great sales representative Alyisa and that night she pulled up our credit in less then five minutes and took all of our information in less then thirty minutes. Since it was late night we weren't guaranteed a car that night but Alyisa who i would say is AWESOME, promised me a car the next day. The next day we get a call and she found me a 2006 Hyundai Elantra, at first she told us the monthly payments we were not to happy with it but Alyisa help us get to a stable price and in the next hour i got my first car :). I made a service appt on line friday 12-2-11 for monday morning. I arrived 15 mins early I was quickley greeted, Brenda had my information up and ready and by 8;10 my car was taken back. Fourty five minutes later my car was inspected the oil was changed and they checked all other systems on my Sonata. Not only was it fast there was no charge for my services today. Being the holiday season no charge was music to my ears. This is my second time I have been in for service on my vehicle and Brenda has been amazing. I had shopped around quite a bit, and was about to purchase a Chevy Traverse but liked the Hyundai Sonata I had seen at a local warehouse store. I decided to stop in at lunch and just look really quick. They allowed me to take one as a loaner while they appraised my current vehicle. That gave me a chance to really test the vehicle out. When I came back I told them I really liked it but would like heated seats. They said the could be installed but I wasn't comfortable with something dealer installed. The looked some more and found a vehicle with everything I wanted and at a lower monthly payment then we first discussed. They were wonderful, worked with me, gave me a great amount for my trade and made the process painless.

Just purchased my wife a new 2011 Elantra Limited! I was worried that the color we wanted wouldn't be available before I deployed to Kuwait for 12 months, and I really wanted to see my wife with her new car. The sales manager was quick to return with our options and was very knowledgable about credit worthiness as well as co-signing options. Except for how long I had to wait to actually see the finance person, my experience with Hall Hyundai was nothing but pleasant. Once we did get to see him, he was efficient and very nice. Perhaps on a busy holiday sales weekend, more than one finance person might make a little more sense.

The service at this dealership is beyond excellent! Being that this was my first time buying a car, I went in with certain expectations to be "sold" or "bought" by the dealer. From the moment I walked through the door, my entire outlook changed! Fredie (my dealer) was nice, entertaining, thoughough,and paid attention to everything that I wanted. He went out of his way to make sure I was completely satisfied. I looked at atleast different 5 cars, went back and forth between which one I wanted,was there beyond closing hours and he never made me feel rushed to make a decision. William (the manager) gave me all of my options and came up with a payment plan that worked best for my budget.I ended up buying a used 2010 Sonata, but it looks and runs as if it were brand new! Even though I mainly worked directly with Fredie and William, the entire staff made me feel welcome and comfortable.I will definately be going back to this dealership in the future!

My wife and I were traveling to Hampton from Maryland to visit our children and grandchildren. Just a few miles from their house, my power steering began to make strange noises. Upon inspection, I noticed a major fluid leak. My son-in-law phoned Hall Hyundai in Newport News and spoke with a gentleman in the service department at approximately 2:30 pm on Saturday afternoon. The service department was busy and closed at 5:00 pm but he said he would squeeze my Santa Fe in and take a look at it. Upon arriving at the dealership service service department at around 3:00 pm, I dealt with Brenda Messer, the Assistant Service Manager. Brenda is a top notch person; very professional, friendly and caring. My vehicle was taken to a service bay after just a very few minutes. The mechanic determined that the power steering rack had failed. Brenda informed me that the vehicle was not drivable and I would have to leave it. The rack was not in stock but she promptly ordered the rack from a "sister" dealership in the area for delivery Monday morning. Brenda then proceded to make arrangements for me to have a loaner vehicle until mine was repaired on Monday. With my family living in Hampton and the wife and I staying in Williamsburg, the visit that we had looked forward to for weeks would not have been possible without the loaner car. My Santa Fe was completed on Monday afternoon and enabled us to return home as originally planned. Brenda and the service department staff saved the weekend.In my 35+ years of owning automobiles, I have never been treated better. If Hall Hyundai treated a total stranger this well, I can only imagine how well they treat their regular customers. If I lived in the area, Hall would get all of my business. Thanks so much.

I walked in with a $12k insurance check to purchase a replacement vehicle but it took way too long and just to get a price on a vehicle. Hall was more focused on gathering my personal information before dealing with me. The sales person had a difficult time entering my information in their computer and was more worried that my phone number was not recognized. Even the "sales manager" kept me waiting while he chatted with the receptionist. I finally walked out. Had they noticed, I drove in with my second vehicle, a Hyundai Azera which I get serviced there - until now. You treated me like a CRM program, wasted my time, lost a sale and a customer.

Good customer service- not pushy. But could have stood to be a little more knowledgeable about the cars in order to help sell them: Be able to talk more to the performance and features. We ended up getting the car we desired but only after coming back several days later. We could have closed the deal sooner if there had been a greater desire to negotiate a deal from the beginning.Good experience overall.

Hall Hyundai Newport News exceeded my expectations. I test drove an Elantra GLS at another Hyundai dealership where they didn't have an LTD on the lot. I called Hall to see if they had any available, and it turned out they had the color I was looking for, too.As soon as I arrived, I was able to take it for a ride right away and loved it.The purchase was relatively painless; much more enjoyable than I was anticipating. Alex was informative, easy to deal with, and pleasant.I am a USAA customer and used their car buying service to get a good price, so negotiating a price wasn't an issue.I was happy that the dealership agreed to take my trade-in (they're even going to pick it up with a tow truck) even though I didn't have immediate access to my title.I purchased the environmental protection package. Making the day-long appointment was easy and they'll give me a loaner car while the protection is being applied.

I was very pleased working with John Vommero and Hall Hyundai in general to get my latest vehicle. I went there to purchase a used car, and we were able to find one in their inventory that fit my needs and budget well. Because they have a large used inventory across several lots, I left for a couple hours so they could bring it over for me to look at. While I was gone, John noticed a similar car that he thought I would like a bit more, and had me take a look. John was right and that car was the one I ended up buying.I was very appreciative of John paying attention and having the presence of mind to get me the car I wanted, even after I had left the floor and even though it wasn't as expensive. It was exactly what I was looking for and fit my budget exactly. When it came to pricing, they didn't put any "stupid high" numbers in front of me, and gave me a very fair trade value for the car I had. I came into the hall Hyundai dealership with no credit no money for a down payment and no expectation on getting a vehicle and then I met John vommero, John approached my wife and I and we told him our situation and and he along with William Rodgers did everything in there abilities to get us financed and into a pre owned vehicle. The car ended up being really competitively priced, but the dealership played games with the pricing beforehand and I really had to negotiate over several days to get the best deal. For some time, my wife and I have been contemplating the purchase of our daughter's first vehicle. It needed to be safe, reliable and affordable. Being new to the area, I sent both my daughter and wife on a quest to visit/contact all the local Hyundai dealerships in the region. I was immediately greeted by John and Jerry. They were extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable. John took us through every aspect of the vehicle. He also made my extremely nervous daughter feel comfortable during her first test drive. Although my daughter's priorities were with the color and sound system, I was more focused on the safety aspects and bottom-line. I left the dealership extremely satisfied with the safety, incentives and financing! The financing agent was also very helpful. He took me through all the possible additional options and although I did not purchasing any, I felt no pressure to do so or change my mind. My experience with Hall Hyundai was outstanding. Did a bunch of research on different 2011 model sedans. The Hyundai Sonatawas on our list so we visited the dealer for a look and were met by Terry Hert. Terryshowed us the different models, took us for a test drive, and provided expert knowledge without any pressure sales pitch. The best car I ever had was wrecked in an accident. (2003 Hyundai Elantra, I loved that car) Replaceing it would be hard. However, John Vommero, the sales consultant, was so helful and understanding. This is by fare the best car buying experience I have ever had. When I walked into the dealership There was a spirit of peace that I felt. Everyone was cordial and treated me like family. I am still pinching myself - there was no gimmicks, or fast talk!! Everything was all up front and it took less time than I thought it would - I imagined at least a week to find a car or even someone to finance it, even my time spent in the dealership to do the paperwork was quick and thorough. We worked with Terry Hert and Dave Gosslin,Both worked very hard to get us the deal we wanted on the vehicle we wanted. The exact car we wanted was at a dealer in MD. They went up to pick it up for us, however we weren't pressured to buy the vehicle after it got here if it wasn't what we wanted and the price wasn't what we were looking for. Everything worked out great! Everybody at the dealership has been very friendly and helpful. So far I have worked with the service dept. getting a state inspection on one of my existing cars and Chris was great, also made a few purchases from the parts dept. they also have been friendly and helpful, even the receptionist's speak to you and are very friendly. I really would recomend this dealership to anyone. And I LOVE my new 2010 Santa Fe!!!

In my search for a car to fit my family I visisted several dealerships in the Hampton Roads area all the way out to Chesapeake and here I finally found a place with car salesman that were real people that you can trust. I had talked to them about some of the other vehicles that we were considering and they went over the differences with no pressure at all. They genuinely wanted to help me get a vehicle that fit my families needs. From the initial founding the right vehicle to showing my wife, all the way to figuring out how to work the pricing they were honest and did a lot to help me out. Excellent dealership with atleast two salesman I would go back and buy from everytime. Our salesman, Alex Pauley, was recommended by a neighbor. He was very helpful and the price he and his manager offered us was exceptional. We were allowed to take home a 2010 Santa Fe for 24 hours without a hassle and it allowed us to make a final determination to purchase the vehicle. The only concern was that the vehicle was sold to us with a 6 month old inspection sticker. Within a few days, we took the vehicle back to the dealership for an updated inspection. The management was very appologetic and expedited the inspection process. Overall we were extremely satisfied with our purchasing experience and would shop there again as well as recommend the dealership to friends.

Oscar was fantastic. From the moment he introduced himself to the final gong on the sale he was the consummate professional. Courteous, friendly and helpful. When he didn't know an answer to a question, he didn't try to fake his way through. He politely and honestly told me he didn't know but he would find out... and each time I was given the correct answer within 5 minutes. When I told him what kind of car I was looking for and what my price range was he didn't try to sell me more than I wanted or needed but listened to me and showed me EXACTLY the car I was looking for at the right price. There was never a moment where I felt like I was being pressured. Oscar let the car and the test drive get me interested and patiently and politely made sure he knew my expectations. I was given every piece of information about the vehicle that I asked for and all my questions were answered without fluff or bluff. I felt that I could trust Oscar. We did our research before we went in, so we knew we wanted a Sonata, but Mr. Meyer was very knowledgeable and very patient in letting us test drive several models. We were originally looking for the Limited, but after driving both the Limited and Sports Edition, we decided we liked the Sports Edition better. We found ALL the employees at this dealership to be incredibly friendly, very informative, and best of all: not pushy. They let us make our own decisions and didn't pressure us into buying anything extra, they just let us know what all of our options were and were very good at explaining the legal mumbo jumbo to us. They were also FAST once we had made our decision and the paperwork didn't take all day. My wife and I just stopped in to look quickly since not familiar with Hyundai, as part of considering to buy a used Volvo XC90 or Honda CRV. The sales rep did a great job in a short time contrasting and showing us the various features of a Santa Fe. His manager added to this with contrasts with pros and cons of the CRV and other makes of similar SUVs, even going on-line to ensure the research data was independent and objective. The manager also worked up great price deal, using a wide range of incentives and trade in (on a non-functioning vehicle, no less) to get us the features we wanted at an excellent price, well below the competition. But the car sold itself with performance, features, and comfort. Can't beat the warrantee. They did all the work for us, so the whole experience was easy, thorough and enjoyable. We were able to take the car we ended up buying as a loaner overnight to ensure we really wanted it. We were able to use a very helpful interactive display in the showroom to understand the vehicle features. As a result we were able to make a decision quickly based on many factors, with minimum complexity to the information. Jerry in particular was impressive with the speed of decisions and actions, knowledge across manufactures, and customer interface. We came away very happy!

I was hesitant to switch car dealers as I had previously owned a Honda Fit. A friend of mine recommended that I check out the Hyundai line and I am so thrilled that I did. Hall Hyundai of Newport News is an awesome place to do business. My sales person, Oscar, was so personable and friendly! He made me feel so comfortable on my test drive and was instrumental in convincing me that a Hyundai Elantra was a much better choice than a new Honda Fit. The new car sales manager Jerry helped make the whole deal a great experience. The $1000 factory rebate was an added bonus, and I loved ringing the gong when my sale was complete!

I started my search on-line so by time I got into the dealership it only took me 2.5 hours to buy a new car. I spent more than I wanted but I will have no maintenance costs for the first 4 years which is great for me. Their financing department gave me a much better interest rate then my credit union. Over all a very good experience.

I found everyone I worked with at Hall Hyundai friendly and informative, but not pushy. Our primary sales rep, Terry Hert, told us exactly what we needed to know about our primary car choice and did not try to push us to buy immediately or to buy a car we did not want. When they did not have one type of vehicle we wanted to test drive, they were quick to get one the next day for us to compare. Once we had compared all the vehicles we were interested in, Jeffry Gehrig gave us a price on our first option that was right in line with where we wanted to buy. The whole experience was easy and haggle free which was a nice change of pace from past experiences. We would definitely buy here again when we are in the market for a Hyundai.

My daughter and I were looking for a vehicle for her use. Upon arriving at the dealership I dreaded getting out of my vehicle, having had bad experiences in the past I tried to have a positive outlook. "Let me show you this or this", that is normally what you here when you walk on to a car lot. My car buying experience at Hall Hyundai in Newport News, VA was nothing I expected it to be. A few months prior to visiting Hall Hyundai, I had visited a Subaru dealership. I felt as if the salesman heard nothing I said to him. Of course walking into Hall Hyundai, I thought I would receive that same treatment. Knowing that my credit is beyond terrible, I had honestly gone into the dealership expecting to get turned down. I immediately told Nick that my credit was terrible and he assured me that he would get me into a car (I've heard that before). He suggested a few cars that was well in my budget, but of course neither of those vehicles was what I wanted. I expected Nick and the team (Jerry and Devin)to insist upon me getting one of the vehicles that was suggested to me, but they proved me wrong. They had gotten me approved for a 2010 Tuscon, but I did not like the vehicle when I drove it. I told the team that I wanted to test drive the 2010 Santa Fe. Knowing that this particular vehicle was priced higher than the Tuscon, I didn't expect them to be able to get me approved. Nick, Jerry, and Devine did all that they could to get me into the vehicle of my choice, all while being professional, polite, and most of all, patient with me. Nick and myself walked the car lot until I found what I wanted. Needless to say, I am a proud owner of a 2010 Santa Fe. Thanks Hall Hyundai of Newport News!

Like with any big purchases, buying a car can be a challenging process. Especially when you have a specific model in mind, and its hard to find. Thats what happenedto us when we were shopping for New Hyundai Genesis Coupe in Lime Rock Green. Alex Pauley at Hall Hyundai found the only one available after searching the entire state and more. However, we still werent completely positive that Lime Rock Green is the right color without seeing it in person. To put our minds at ease, Alex again searched the only owner of the same car with the same color in the area, and coordinated with him to bring the car to the dealership right then for us to see. This late April purchase was the most painless and pleasant new car buying experience I have had since I bought my first car a Chevy Vega in 1972. Although my time was split between Alex Pauley the Internet Sales person, and the new car manager Jerry Gehrig, there was no pressure or push to buy any car...they seemed confident that the product would sell itself, and it did. I brought in a Certified Truecar price qoute on a 2011 Sonata Limited for well under invoice, left it with Jerry Gehrig (since Alex was gone for the day). I returned the next day and it was accepted and verified as a sales price in 10 seconds by Jerry, if that long.Should have spent more time getting an orientation when I did return to pick up the car...I guess I was excited. But Alex is willing to answer and follow up as needed as in the case of the missing cargo net...will get today. Dealership has stood by all of its statements and promises. When I balked at an initial value given for my trade they accepted my requested value.The typical after market sales add-ons picthes were made, but when all were declined my decsion was accepted by the dealership without a fuss...nice.Smiles all around as can be expected at a car dealership, but these seemed to be sincere ones.

I came by the dealership to have my 2005 Hyundai Elantra serviced for oil and as I was waiting I was curious to see what the newer models had to offer but wasn't planning on buying anything just merely wish listing. The salesperson Jamie Cornette was the first to approach me by letting me have a seat inside the 2010 Elantra to check it out further, he was very polite and friendly and didn't go into a sales pitch he let me have a look then offered to give me a chance to explore the possibility of trading in for a new vehicle that day. I felt respected and appreciated all the time while I was there and he really went to bat to help me decide what works for me. I test drove the car and the next day I was being seen by Alex Pauley who really did an awesome job in being clear and fair to have me comfortably afford this used LIMITED EDITION Hyundai SONATA 2008! Both Jamie and Alex made me feel like I deserved that nice fully loaded vehicle which I know is part of their job to say but I could sense that they believed it on a genuine level. Alex was very respectful and sensitive to my financial needs that I never at any time felt uncomfortable which is a real plus! They gave me a better understanding of what buying a car should be like. I was overjoyed with my experience. The salesmen LISTENED to what I was asking for and the price I could work with. I was never shown anything over the budget I had laid out or pressed to look at cars that were more expensive. The gentlemen were polite, friendly, and honest. The staff at Hall Hyundai is by far the friendliest, most patient people my husband and I have had the pleasure to do business with. We first went there to find a cheap, used vehicle because we were sick of being a one vehicle family with two kids. Alex was kind enough to spend several hours with us showing us numerous vehicles. We found one we kind of liked but needed to think about. There was no pressure from him at all to decide right then, he said call him when we decided what we wanted to do. We went home and thought about it over the weekend. Monday evening we went back and decided we'd like to see the numbers for a new car. Alex and Nick took the time to work out all the numbers for buying vs. leasing with and without a down payment. The numbers for a lease worked for us so they stayed almost 2 hours past closing time to work it all out with us. In the end we feel we got a great deal and throughout the process we had the friendliest guys helping us out. They really seem to care about you as a person and not just getting a sale. I know they really helped us out and we would recommend them to anyone looking for a car.

First of all, Hall has a great group of people at this dealership. I visited Hall Newport News twice before window shopping (no test drive or dealing) and I told them I was making my list of vehicles to eventually consider, and absolutely no pressure at all from any one of the staff. A slight push to talk turkey but no real push at all, and thats expected its what they do for a living. That is what brought me back. A year ago, with a new car purchase for my wife, at the end she was in tears driving her happy new car, I was furious, it was not just one dealership but an entire list of car brands, we did not visit any Hyundai dealership at that time.Regarding my trade in, I believe they rated my vehicle right on regarding its trade in value. Do the research its not Blue Book value it is trade in value. Remember, one needs to understand this is how the people at a dealership make a living by selling your/our cars for us.Bottom line:Half way through the negotiation my wife was running out of time and they drove her back home to complete an appointment. That was very polite.I stated my needs and concerns and they worked with me generously (and with out the 15-20 minute waiting just to tell me no) not the same car originally same model but different color. I was fine with that, tit for tat. Respect on both sides goes along way at this dealership I suspect they appreciate respect just as much as their customers. I will recommend this dealership to any of my friends.

Before visiting the dealership I went to their web site and called the Internet Sales group. Instead of getting returned calls, I had to follow up. The second item, the Internet Price was not the real price. The way to describe the Internet Price, it contains any, and all, possible discounts and none of the add-ons. So this created a bad start to the overall experience and I was ready to move to another dealership. I was then connected with Jamie and he seemed to be genuinely interested in making things right, so I agreed to meet with him in person. Once we met, Jamie and his team at the dealership managed to make things right and I made the purchase.I have had better car buying experiences at other Hall Dealerships, however, I believe the team at Hall Hyundai is truly interested in doing the right thing by their customers and I would recommend them.

I can actually say this was a very enjoyable car-buying experience! Justin Porter, my saleman, was low-key and very helpful and responsive to my questions. I felt no pressure at all. There was a $2500 rebate on the 2010 Sonata and they also gave me additional discounts off of the sticker price. The Sales Manager, Dave Gosselin, reinforced what I had read on the Internet about the Hyundai Corportation and also added to that, giving me a great feeling of assurance about my purchase. I have had two Hondas and this was a big switch for me! The warranty clinched the deal since I plan on keeping this car for about 7-8 years. The Finance Manager, Devin, was also very helpful, especially helping me with what to do about the sale of my Honda and processing the paperwork for that.I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone who is interested in buying a Hyundai. I hope I am just as satisfied with the service of the vehicle. They promised me a car wash when I get it serviced, since that was important to me also. I plan on coming back to this site after I have had my Sonata for awhile, with the expectation I will be able to give this dealership great praise for their servicing of the vehicle also.

My Fiance' and I came to Hall after leaving a competitor who wasted our time for 4.5 hours. The "other guys" wouldn't tell us the prices on their vehicles until after we went inside to "work out some prices." In the end, we walked away. Everyone at Hall listened to everything we said, understood our price ranges and limits, and helped us make decisions we were comfortable with. We arrived with a specific vehicle in mind; printed out from their website complete with a listed price. They never tried to move us to another vehicle. In fact, they never tried to "sell" us anything. That made all the difference in the world. We ended up buying a second car while we were there that my Fiance' picked out with one of the Managers while I worked on my paperwork. It was completely her decision. To give you an idea how solid of a team they are, they stayed open 1.5 hours after their closing time to help us AND the desk clerk (I wish I knew her name) gave me something for my headache when I asked if she had anything. She didn't even hesitate. The showroom was immaculate and they offered us a drink and a snack within minutes of us shaking hands with everyone. This visit to Hall was easily the best consumer experience of my life!

We planned to buy a used Hyundai from Hall Hyundai in Newport News. We told them our limit was $7000 with our trade-in. Hall said theyd let us know when a used vehicle within that range arrived. The salesman called us about two weeks after our initial visit, saying on the phone that $7000 would work for this car. We went in, test drove it, and were then told that the price was $7400. We offered $5500 cash and our trade-in at $1500 ($7000 total) for the used Hyundai to include taxes, title, and fees. They agreed, so long as we took the car without the 30 day warranty. Fair enough. He put the deal on paper and we signed. It was approved by the manager. We did most of the paperwork, and they took our plates off of our trade-in. Then, when it came time to write the check, the manager asked us to write it for $7000 (so, with our trade-in, we would be paying $8500). Our deal with the salesman had been quite clear, but now the manager said it was meaningless to him. In fact, he didnt apologize and told us that we were being dishonest. We wasted three hours of our day. Im shocked by our treatment there. Well never buy from Hall Hyundai.

I picked out the vehicle I wanted (2009 Hyundai Genesis) after discussing options with Jamie. The one I had chosen had to brought to the dealership from VA Beach. A traffic backup on I64 resulted in the vehicle arriving late in the afternoon. My wife and I had an engagement that evening. Jamie, Nick, and Devin expedited getting me through the sales/warranty process. Jamie arranged for me to return another day and walked me through the vehicle (he would have spent more time with me if I had needed, but he gave me the basics of the Technology Package. Jamie also introduced me to Chris in Service, who assured me of his attention to me as needed. He has answered several questions for me when I called about service and warranty questions. Jamie and Nick have also talked to me several times on the phone since my purchase when I had questions. My overall experience at Hall Hyundai was the best I have had in the 40+ years I have been purchasing new vehicles. I never felt any pressure to buy - I have many examples over the years of pressure. We decided late in the cash for clunkers program that we wanted to take advantage of it. I heard about the great warranty that Hyundais have so we pulled into Hall Hyundai and started looking at the Elantra. Nick the general Manager started chatting with us, I appreciated that he was not pushy or in our face. He let us look and answered any questions we had. We were on our way out for dinner and he said to go ahead and take the car and bring it back after dinner. During dinner we decided this was a great deal with the 2K rebate and 4-1/2 K Cash for Clunker Bonus. After dinner we came back and completed all the paperwork pretty quickly. Jamie Cornette and General Manager Nick did a great job in answering all of our questions and finalizing everything. We got very quick and friendly service. We got a 2009 Elantra.Thanks Hall Hyunda!

Ok so my deal is different. My daughter was killed last year in a car accident. She was 15. I promised her that I would buy her a new car when she graduated.Since i am not going to get that opportunity I decided that I would buy a car, get personalized plates, and put her picture and name on the back window for all the world to see. Jamie was very friendly and down to earth. He made everything as easy as possible. I was dreading being in a dealership for hours and because of the team work at Hall, I was in and out:) I purchased a 2009 Sonata, which I liked but after having it for a couple of days I decided that I wanted the V-6. So thanks to the great guys Jamie & Nick...they made it happen. So now I love my car!! It will be perfect once my daughter's picture is on it. Thanks guys for making this a smooth process:)

I was looking for a new car and headed to another dealer when I came upon Hall Hyundai and decided to stop in well, once I was received with great customer service with excellent knowledge about the vehicles I never left. I really like the vehicles that. I ended up test driving the Sante Fe and loved the ride not to mention that the sales person (Jamie Cornette) ensured that I drove on every type surface possible to get the feel of the vehicle. I purchased a New Santa Fe Limited in Oct08 and purchased a new Santa Fe Limited in Feb09,My08 was stolen. I returned back to this dealership based on how I was treated when I purchased the 08. Nick and Devon both times were very professional & caring; Jamie was my sales person this time and went the extra mile to meet my needs. I took such a loss from the insurance co. on the stolen 08, they only appraised it at $25,000. I not only lost all the money I put down put also lost on appraised value. It certainly would have been great to get a better rebate than $1,000 this time since this was the 2nd Santa Fe purchased in 3 1/2 months. As a result my payments are higher plus longer financing. I really like the Santa Fe however, I am dispointed in the blue tooth connection since my $300 cell phone won't work with the blue tooth, what's the point in having the connection? This Dealership is one of the BEST I have dealt with.

Buying a car, to me is a major purchase. This year it came time to do that. On a Friday night I went out car shopping to see what cars were out there that I would like and could possibly afford. The only ideas that I had were that it had to be 4 doors and no smaller than the car I had at the time (cavalier). I went to several different dealers and narrowed my choice between two dealers that had the same type of car. The next day I went to dealer 1 and test drove two cars of the same type. I then went to the Hyundai dealer and looked at the same car. I test drove that car. The employees at Hall made me feel welcome and I got a very nice greeting from all. My salesman was Mitch Sears. Mr. Sears, the finance team and the sales manager at Hall worked with me to get the price, within their means, that I wanted on the car and I appreciated the time they allowed me to work through making this decision as it became overwhelming at times and I never felt pushed into making a decision unless I was comfortable with it. When the time comes that I need another call I would go back to Hall and would recommend this dealership to others.

We've purchased two vehicles from Hall Hyundai Newport News and have been completely satisfied with each purchase and every service visit. Mitch Sears is the most honest salesperson I've ever encountered and you definitely have the feeling he's trying to get you the best deal possible. On my last visit for regular service, Chris went the extra mile in making sure our 2007 Santa Fe was ready as promised and all the work was done to my satisfaction. When we had the Elantra serviced, he reminded me we should have a service coupon in the glove box for our oil change - and he was right! I only wish Hyundai made a truck - I would have three vehicles from this dealership.

Overall I found it to be a very pleasant buying experience. I was searching for something special in an auto and found it in the car I purchased (Hyundai Genesis). Mr Sears was very knowledgealbe concerning this product and more importantly how this vehicle stacked up against other vehicales in this price range. He was not a pressure salesmen and I greatly apprechiated that, it was like talking to an old friend.All managers came by and introduced themselves as well as extented themselves to answer any question we may have had. They did all they could do to see to it that I walked out of the door comfortalbe with the payment I requested.MOST OF ALL, after buying the car they were just as considerate when my wife and I returned to have the car serviced. Hall Huyundai excells in customer service. We went down to Newport News from Chester (south of Richmond) and purchased a new 2008 Santa Fe Hyundai and could not be happier with it. My girlfriend and myself went to Hall Hyundai in Newport News on a Saturday, hoping to look around at all the options that Hall had to offer. We ended up riding away with a 2009 Hyundai. Something I really regret at this point. My sales Consultant was Mitch Sears, which was a very nice person and we didn't have any problems with him. He met us as we walked into their lot. He was willing to let us test drive the car as soon as we saw one we liked, no questions asked. But when it was time to make the purchase, that's when we started to run into problems. I really can't remember the sale managers name right now but the day would have been a lot better just dealing with Mitch. After test driving the car and sitting in the office to talk business, I felt like I was getting the run around. We would ask one question and never get the answer. I stepped outside to have a smoke at one point and over heard another sale taking place not to far away. I heard the Sales Men sale a customer a SUV at same price I got the Elantra for, I asked the dealer if I could maybe take the car home and test it out for a day, and got no for an answer. I asked the dealer if there was a 3 day 1,000 mile return plan, and got the answer no. We were really backed into the corner. So I had the option to take it or leave it. I really didn't like that. I have no problem with the car ( for right now ) but I would also like the option to take it back if I wanted something bigger, but I don't have that option. So now I'm stuck with a car that I may not like, with a price that I know could be better cause I witnessed it with the other customer. Now what can I do.. It took 8 hours from the time we walked in, to the time we walked out. I know buying a car isn't fast but 8 hours is way to long. On the up side of things - I really like the service department. I feel that they care more about us then the office personal. Keep up the great job Service Department.

I met Nick Vendt about a year ago, He is one of the friendliest sales person I have ever met. If I need my car worked on, he has given me his car as a loner to get my job done, I am a real estate agent and I need a car at all times. He really cares about a person, it is not just a sale for him, when he does business with you, then you become part of his family. You have a real gem for an employee and a loyal employee. Thanks for having someone like him there for me and my family & friends. I always send my friends and family to him to take care of, because I know he will take special care of them, they are not just a sale. He was going to sell my father a car, but with the price of gas, my dad would loose a lot of money, his advice, keep the car a little longer and he would help him get another one in about a year, WHAT a breathe of fresh air, it is not all about numbers for him, word of mouth can make or break you, I vote to make Nick Vendt, again thanks and his service department is just as wonderful.Charlene Stanaway

This was my second purchase from Hall Hyundai and it was just as positive as my first. The people there are very friendly and professional in their demeanor and attitude. My lead person this time (Rachel) was excellent, and my experience with her was far superior to my first sales guy (Garrett) who was definitely efficient and knowledgeable, but nowhere near as friendly or empathetic as Rachel. Everything with Rachel was great - her friendly greeting, her lack of "pressure" and her knowledge of the Hyundai line. I felt very confident with her. Nick is the general manager, so of course he was a little more of a strong armer. He knew his stuff, though, and was open to negotiation. He was a little too corporate in his shuffling of people around; I kept getting moved from Rachel to Jamie, then to Nick, then back to Rachel, then Jamie again. Par for the course with dealers, but a real nuisance. Jamie tried to be "slick," but was nowhere near as knowledgeable about stuff as Rachel; I would have preferred to do all my work with her. The financial guy, Devin, is super pleasant, but both he and jamie seemed a little flustered when trying to talk the details of financing and stuff. Okay to deal with, but occasionally too slippery and sometimes I got the feeling they didn't quite know as much as I would have liked. Hall Hyundai is great with follow-up calls, hand-holding, and general customer service skills; I gave them a 4 on this rather than 5, however, because, aside from Rachel, the others are very tough to reach; messages not returned, etc., but I'm told they often have to shuttle between dealerships so they're not always at the same location all the time. I will add that I have every intention of staying with this Hall dealership in the future. In general, the best auto dealer I've ever dealt with. ALSO, a big, big plus for the service department, and this guy named Chris House. I have NEVER dealt with a service department that was so professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Never any misinformation, never any pricing surprises, and ALWAYS fast! I really like this dealership. I just wish their cars were a little cheaper....
