The people at this dealership are absolutely legendary. Herb Thomas, and the rest of the crew in the financing department are the most patient, down to earth people I've seen at a dealership. Can not sing more praises about everyone and the staff here. They even pulled over the exact color of the CX-5 I wanted from a partner dealership, AND let me drive it back to finalize the paperwork! Update: This review was for the Heritage Mazda dealership in Reisterstown that closed. I have never been a customer of the Heritage Mazda dealership in Catonsville. I came in to the dealership around last fall after my car had started having a lot of problems. I hadn't ever had to shop for my own car before so I was sincerely grateful that I had a salesman as great as Aaron helping me. He spent a while looking at used cars that would suit my needs and I came in to test drive one that he suggested. Unfortunately, I didn't end up buying a car from him but he did a lot of research on my behalf and found me a new car at Heritage Subaru down the road that I did end up purchasing. Because of Aaron's referral, I ended up with the perfectly reliable car that I needed. I'm really glad I got to work with him.

I just bought a new Mazda 3 from Heritage. The real amazing part of that is that I came in looking for a used one. But the GM Mike, and then the finance manager Adam made it happen on a new one. The folks at Heritage Subaru are great. We walked in and test drove a car, and Matt helped us through the entire process, even when we came back later to purchase the car. He was polite, knowledgeable, didn't pressure us at all, and dealt very calmly with our small child in tow! He was understanding of any questions we had, and presented himself as a resource for questions we may have in the future. We love our Impreza, and Matt helped make sure we made the right decision for us!

My husband and I just bought a Subaru Outback from Heritage Subaru. We had such a great, relaxing experience. Richie Ramkelawan was a great sales person. He was very relaxed and helpful. It was a busy Saturday, so he was actually pulled over from the Volkswagen side, but he was still very knowledgable and made sure that all our questions were answered, even if he had to ask someone else. He also helped make sure we got a really nice price on our trade in! The actual buying process was very relaxed and easy. CJ was extremely knowledgable, which made it easy to figure out what options we wanted. We also had help from May Farris who walked us through our new car and let us know about all the features. She was extremely knowledgable and relaxed. The entire process was amazing! I would recommend Heritage Subaru to a friend and I will be going back for any future cars.

My son was in an accident and because the car was paid off insurance would not cover the replacement so we had to find a new car quick that was affordable in payment and insurance for an 18 year old going to college and working full time. Being a female, I dread car dealerships but we found Heritage in Catonsville online with a car he wanted so we made the journey. Alex Barrash was the first person to come talk to us and I am so glad he did. He took time to understand the situation and even let us call the insurance company a few times to figure things out so my son could feel comfortable with the payments. He allowed us to take our time to make sure this is what he could afford. I really appreciate how well he handled our situation and worked with us. I visited the dealership to test drive the 2017 Outback at my husbands recommendation. When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted promptly by Mat. I didn't know than that Mat and I would enter into a partnership. Mat was great, no pressure sales pitch-Mat let the car do all the work. On the test drive, Mat was informative and attentive to the needs of my family. Once, we were sure the Outback was the perfect car for our family- I reached out to Mat. He worked to get us the color and trim level we wanted at the best price. Kevin Fin manager- was awesome too. He got us a great rate with a local bank. My entire Experience from beginning to end was awesome. I went there for one vehicle but ended up getting a 2017 Jetta! It's beautiful. I love it! My son was purchasing his first car and Mr Yong Lee was patient and supportive throughout; as my son first wanted a used car and eventually selected a premium Impreza. Mr Lee has a great personality and wasn't pushy or overbearing. Russel did a great job quickly locating the color car my son selected. Everyone we encountered was polite and positive. The least pleasant part of the experience was when we went back to sign the final papers and there was an attempt to sell us various maintenance agreements and gap insurance. The finance salesman went quickly from friendly to insistent to brusque when we turned down all packages.

May and Kevin treated me with a lot of respect, being up front with price, and went the extra mile to earn my business. I showed up around 8 pm to complete purchase and delivery. Even though May was handling other customers, she, CJ, the business manager who handled the transaction paperwork, and those that prepared the vehicle for delivery got me on the road fairly quickly. I bought a new Legacy from May Farris two days ago and was extremely pleased with her assistance as well as the General Sales Manager, Danny. May was very knowledgeable of her product and, while she was extremely busy, took her time with the process, found me the car in the color I wanted and it was picked up, prepped and delivered the same day. I've only driven it about 40 miles so service hasn't been needed but if they are nearly as cooperative as the sales department I'll be a happy camper. May even spent a considerable amount of time today re-instruction me on how several items on the car worked. So often it's difficult to get in touch with a salesperson after the sale but that has not been the case with May.

Bought a used CX-5 and it was time to get a new one. Went to Russel and met with mazda manger (cant remeber his name but he had blue eyes and gray hair). He was nice, but shut me down when i said i wanted more car for less of a payment, but this is were Julian came in. I think he hounded him until he could get the manager to help me out. I left that day and Julian got me back in the day after. He was able to get me more car for just 15$ extra a month. The manager was a nice guy tho, he just wanted me to be realistic and honsetly, i was just taking a shot. but Julian was awesome and really nice and truly did do his best i believe to help me get a new car that could fit in my budget. Ask for Julian and the blue eyed mazda manager if you ever go to Russel.

I purchased a manual Mazda6 from Julian Barnes. Started off great. I had been dealing with him for a while, plus I could nor forget his name due to the amount of Voicemalis he left on my home phone, but he persistence, so I finally decided to hed out that way. I met with Julian late one night right before they close to drive a Mazda3 and instead of rushing me, he still took me on a timely route to get a true feel. I liked him from that point on. 2 weeks later. I brought my wife with me, but not to buy a Mazda3. Instead we decided on a Mazda6. Purchased the car, but it came from another dealership and had chips in the paint, but all in all Julian said he would take care of it and that he did. I was impressed by him and his service staff. My wife told him that we had 2 kids and will be needing cars in the near future, so dont quit the car business anytime soon. I recommend Julian because he gets it done. I came in 2 weeks ago to test drive a wrx but decided not to because there were a few cars parked in front of it and I didn't have time for them move it. I came back today and called 15 minutes ahead so they could pull It out. When I arrive they ask if I intend on buying the car today. I don't know who in their right mind would buy a car or even consider buying a car before driving it. Either way, they tell me "customers want these cars with as few miles as possible on them." I guess Im not a customer then. I'm convinced they don't even sell cars there. Either way you obviously won't be my dealership of choice and I Will make sure everyone I know in this area is aware of this places nonsense.

I had a very good experience at Russel. My salesperson, I felt that Julian Barnes, and the manager, Alona Holland, were very customer centered. Julian was straightforward, positive and efficiently moved me through the process. Alona was personable, articulate and appeared to be very genuine. I believe we all negotiated a fair price for my trade in and the new vehicle and overall I was very pleased. Serge in financing was helpful and did not make the hard sell or extras which I truly appreciated. Admittedly, I had read some very negative reviews about Russel Mazda, but it looks like those are all dated and that new management and sales team in place has the right temperament and attitude to be very successful.

I was looking for the best deals on the 2015 2.5i Limited, got one with an outside state dealer. But the car was not available for 2-3 weeks. Same car was available with Russel and Yong Lee was my sales person. I told him upfront of my deal. He told me that the car that I looked at Russel was sold but another was coming in 2 days. He promised to meet the same price even though the other car had some additional accessories installed. He coordinated the delivery schedule, had all the paperwork ready before my visit from NY, Yong was thorough, professional and very respectful all throughout the whole process and explained some of the financial aspects of the deal. He had the car prepped up, tank full with all documents ready. I would definitely recommend his services to all my friends and family. Excellent service!!

I just purchased a new 2014 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Touring from Russel Subaru last night. In short it was the best car-buying experience I'd ever had. Here's why: I informed the sales people that this was a birthday present for my wife and she'd never owned a NEW car before. Without me asking they went ahead and prepped the car I'd test drived - the one I wanted for my wife - put it in the center of the showroom floor and covered it with a huge amount of baloons. I'd tried to make the car a suprise so she knew just for a few hours that she was getting it. When my wife saw it she was totally smitten. You couldn't wipe the smile off her face. The salesman and the process: I highly recommend both Scott Wilson and Yung Lee. Mr. Lee did most of the work with us walking us through the physical car, the paperwork, application for financing and all but the complicated paperwork process. He helped me get better financing by suggesting different ways to buy the car. He saved us a lot of money. He was informative, friendly and in a word - Great! I was really impressed with the complicated paperwork process as well. "Karen" was extremely honest about her opinions about what additional options one should add to the car. She owns a Subaru and has some of these options herself. Thus, she's well qualified to recommend which Extended Warranty I should choose, the GAP insurance, etc. Please note that my past experiences have had the "finance guy" sneaking in thousands of dollars in additional features I cared nothing about. They didn't tell me about these charges but was hoping I wouldn't notice their inclusion in the paperwork process. Karen did nothing of the sort. She was extremely helpful. Have I had the car serviced yet? No. I cannot speak of the service experience. However, I'd highly recommend the sales experience.

I purchased a 2014 Miata from Russel Mazda. I wanted to relive my past because I had owned one 10 years ago. Long story short, I came in and met Julian and he was sweet as can be. We went test driving around Catonsville and he made me stop in the middle of the street and told me to put the top down and floor it! I fell right back in love with the car I had once owned before. We waited a while to get in finance, but it was a Saturday and their was alot of people so I understood. All in all, Julian stayed by me and even gave me some pizza that was actually for the dealership. Julian was great from beginning to end. I give him a A+++

Started off shakey because the of the whole eprice thing and then the add backs to it but I wouldn't have even bought the car if it wasn't for Julian. Russel Mazda has a very odd business plan - I don't know how they actually sell any cars off internet leads. They quoted me a very good internet price for a Mazda Miata. I took a test drive and then came back to do the paperwork. They then offered me a price that was over $3,000 more than the internet quote. The salesman and manager then did a song and dance indicating the price they originally quoted me in an email included all possible incentives and since I did not qualify for the incentives the price was $3,000 more. They then wanted to start negotiations over the inflated price. I have done many internet deals for new cars. This is the first time a dealer wouldn't actually honor their quoted internet price. Fortunately, they are just down the road from me. Definitely, don't drive very far to do business with these folks unless you qualify for all possible Mazda incentives.

I purchased a (used) 2010 Mazda 3 from this dealership with such ease. From the minute I stepped into the dealership I felt welcomed. My sales associate, Frank, was absolutely wonderful. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable with all the vehicles that I was interested in. Frank also introduced his Sales Manager, Bobby, who was very friendly and an absolute delight. The financing department was very efficient and I was done before I knew it. I would definitely recommend this dealership. They have great customer service, great prices and a great selection of vehicles to choose from.

After looking the online price, called the dealership, they transferred me to Sales Department The Sales Representative, female not the best and calm voice insisted to me the price was over 3000.00 the price advertised, wasn't nice or anything a little rude no explanatory at all. Doesn't look like a Dealer looking to seal cars one family at time. Thank You going to find a better Customer Service Dealership.

This is the second car I've bought from Russel Mazda, and when I bought it, I got the 5-year prepaid maintenance plan. That has worked like a charm - regular oil changes and all other routine maintenance, every few months. It's been easy to schedule the maintenance appointments on line and to get an appointment day and time that's convenient, and the servicing has always been completed very promptly. Waiting room is comfortable, too.

If you want to buy a new car and are in the market for a Mazda, go here. Nothing more needs to be said. I was looking for a Mazda 6 and I found this place (Russel Mazda) on the internet. it was the right price. Frank Tilghman and I were able to agree on a price over the phone and via e-mail so when my wife and I got to the dealership it was just a matter of signing papers and driving out, which is basically what happened. The car was ready and the paperwork transition was executed smoothly by Frank McCormack (the finance guy). I'd also like to mention that we are not locals....we live about one hour and 30 min away from the dealership so that kind of shows you the feeling that we got over the phone just talking to these guys (what I mean is that we would not have wasted our time driving almost 2 hours to buy this car otherwise). So, again, if you want to buy a new car, and are looking for a Mazda, go here.

Purchased a pre-owned certified 2012 Subaru Outback with 19K miles. Sales person excellent. Nice car, nice price. We drove the 7 miles home and noticed there was a nail in the sidewall of the tire. Drove back to Russell and they said they would fix. After the mechanics examined, they determined not fixable and since this is an all-wheel drive vehicle, they could not just replace one tire. They replaced all 4 tires with brand new tires - NO CHARGE. I will most likely be buying my next car from Russell Subaru.

I traded in my 2006 BMW 525 for a 2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring. The sales rep, Kevin James, was outstanding - very helpful, patient, no BS or pressure. After talking to him about life during my and my wife''so test drives, I liked him not only as a salesman but as a person. Fares Hassan was very helpful in arriving at the final price, and the financial people were also very professional and pleasant to deal with. Overall, a very pleasant experience and a great new car.

Kevin James was very knowledgable and gracious, easy to work with and talk to. Kevin had a good personality. Fares Hassan is very good with people and trying to help out customers. He introduced me to the Service Department and Service Writers. I appreciated him introducing me to the rest of the Staff.
