Awesome people! Upbeat, positive attitudes and they don’t make you feel pressured or like they’re using a sneaky sales tactic. They are all honest people that truly make you feel like the Subaru family is just that, a family! I purchased my first Subaru yesterday and I already know I’m going to be a Subaru driver for life after my positive experience at Hicks yesterday!

Hicks Family Subaru is Awesome! The staff and sales team are very professional and knowledgeable about their vehicles. I had a great experience purchasing my wife's new Ascent. I never felt pressured into buying from the sales team. LuLu and Chris were both great to work with. They worked hard to make me feel comfortable with my purchase. I would definitely recommend Hicks Family Subaru! Thanks for a great, easy, pressure free experience.

I went back and forth as to whether I should give a two or three star rating. I must say, their customer service has always been excellent, very kind staff. Yet, we have come across some issues that frustrated me. So much so, I felt sharing my experience my assist others. My husband and I recently drove my 2010 Subaru Outback from Corpus Christi to Southern Oregon (then back). While visiting family in OR, we took advantage of my dads shop to change my oil and break pads (since this dealership told us that we would need to change our break pads soon, before we left). Changing oil went seamless. However, when it came time to take the tires off to change the break pads, we discovered that the dealership over torqued the bolts holding my tires. Even using the air drill, we had to use some serious muscle. (Almost) Every. Single. Bolt. Broke. A 30-ish minute job turned in to a five hour excursion. We had to check every tire and sure enough, every bolt was over torqued. This means, had we popped a tire on our drive over, we would have been stranded (with our TWO puppies). Luckily, we were able to fix this error before our return home. Oh, and the break pads were like new (barely used). You thought I was done? Not quite. Before we left for our trip, we asked the dealership to replace the battery (we knew it was almost done for). They insisted in NOT changing it, but “cleaning” [the battery acid] instead. My battery blew up as my husband was heading out of town to go camping. He had to coast the ‘bru back down to the house with smoke spilling out from the hood. Battery acid everywhere. This caused the AC in my car to stop working. Luckily for us, my dad had an appointment to have the compressor fixed in his truck. We called our mechanic and let them know he would be showing up with a Subaru instead (bless my father). We didn’t have our car for a week. Turns out, the battery acid ate away at one of the hoses leading to the compressor. If you know anything about cars, you know we saved some big bucks *whew*. Yet, this would have been all avoidable if the mechanics at the dealership would have had more attention to detail. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this dealership for mechanical repairs. For the amount of money we have put in, we don’t find the physical services to be adequate. We love Subaru, but feel very sad to have to say goodbye to this dealership.

Hicks Family Subaru is hands down the most excellent dealership in the coastal bend to do business with, and I could not say enough positive things about the staff and how they do business. Additionally, I would like to praise all the departments that I have been fortunate to meet and work with so far. The salesmen are very knowledgeable on all inventory on their lot, not just on their makes but also on their used lot. Instead of pressuring you into a vehicle that may not be right for you, they spend time listening to you and asking you questions that will help them right fit you into the car that will be best for you, and you will ultimately get the most out of. I have enjoyed working with two different sales associates on separate vehicle purchases that made the purchase so easy and worry-free. The service departments' staff are attentive individuals who have taken a facilitative approach no matter if I was calling for an inquiry or bringing my car in to be serviced. I went through the Parts department to order racks and a cargo carrier for my car and am glad I did! They saved me a lot of time and money by giving me the best deal possible. They like the sales guys are very knowledgeable and informative. The cargo carrier that I had ordered ended up being on backorder, so Ryan, the associate that had taken the initial order, went in and found an alternate way for me to receive my cargo carrier on schedule as he promised he would when he learned it was going to be on backorder. When I picked up my cargo carrier, Ryan and the new parts manager assisted with putting it in place. Lastly, a special appreciation goes to the General Manager, Mark Hale, who plays a substantial role in this business and their staff's exceptional customer service. Almost every time I have run into the service or sales side, I've seen him walking around personally greeting everyone. He is one of those managers that genuinely really care about the customer and their needs. He is conscientious.
