This close to DC where else can one find the warm friendliness of a small town dealership combined with a great buying experience and consistently good maintenance service. We have purchased two new vehicles from Kathy McKay in the last 3 years and our Chevrolet vehicles have been maintained there for the last 13 years. Seeing familiar faces when entering the dealership is a definite plus, but finding the principle owner on the floor is fantastic.

I've not been dealing with him McKay for long but since I have, I went to get my recalls repaired on my 2006 g6 and service was great, so great I decided to buy a new car from them. I purchased a 2015 Chrysler 200 which is amazing. The guys and ladies there really work with you and take all the time needed to make sure your purchase goes well and is appreciated. I recommend them to my friends and family.

This was my first time coming to Jim Mckay, I heard the commercials and was in the market to buy an new automobile. Previously that week i had went to two other car dealerships and was completely disappointed with the service and walked out. Then I called Jim Mckay's and spoke with SanDeep prior to meeting him the phone conversation went well and i was more than excited to get off that day so i could meet him and check out a couple cars. When i arrived everyone in the dealership spoke to me, (unlike other dealerships where i had to find a sales person and greet myself.) the staff at Jim Mckay made me feel welcomed. Sandeep had pulled the car around and once I took it for a test drive I was sold. Oh and I Love the Finance Manager!!! (Can't remember his name) But he has a great sense of humor and really tries his best to get you a low interest rate.I love the folks at Jim McKay!!!! I'll recommend everyone I know to purchase a car from those guys.

My Salesman, Andrew Radchenko was professional, easy to work with and very accommodating. The entire process was painless. I received a tour of the Service Dept and even met Mrs. McKay! I could not be more happier with the service I received this past Friday at Jim McKay in Fairfax. My car was recently totaled and I have been without transportation since June. While still awaiting for insurance to settle my claim, I could not wait any longer to get a car. Since already having a current auto loan still open (pending settlement) and having poor credit, I was hesitant about trying to get a new car. I told them up front I did not have much money for a down payment, my credit stinks, and I already had an open auto loan (just in case they wanted to say "Look lady, get your life together first and then come back to see us) LOL. I was referred to Jim McKay by someone I know who recently purchased a new car and was very happy with the service he received from them. To make a long story short, I am so blessed to have found these guys at Jim McKay. I was helped by Demetrius and Jonathan who worked together to help me drive away in my brand new 2016 Chevy Sonic. Words can not describe how happy I am to finally have a car again. I didn't think I would ever have a new car again because of my financial background, but these guys made sure it happened. This experience has eliminated so much stress in my life. I have two little boys ages 7 & 5 who are in love with mommies new car. I am blessed to have a brand new reliable car and I am blessed to have found these gentlemen at Jim McKay. I wish I could remember everyone's name there that helped me out, so that I could mention them but unfortunately I don't recall the names of everyone. Once I purchased my car a gentlemen literally sat in the car with me and took the time to explain what everything on the dashboard means, how my touchscreen audio and blue-tooth features ETC. works, and he even assisted me with setting up my on-star and downloading the "MyChevy" app on my phone. They made sure I was able to drive away with all of my questions and concerns addressed! I could keep going on how awesome my experience was but I will just stop here. Definitely will be a returning customer!

I got a quote from Abel over the phone for $130 to change and reprogram my ECM, and they finished the work in 40 minutes. Then I was handed the bill for $277. When I asked, Abel explained that the part change (5 minutes, literally) was $130 and the programming (35 minutes) was an additional $130. What a ripoff!!! Worse yet, it turns out that the tech did not disconnect the battery prior to changing the ECU, causing the fuel gauge to read incorrectly. After calling Abel about this, his reply was that I must have something else wrong with the truck and he would be happy to look at for me for an additional $130. The following morning, I disconnected the battery, disconnected the ECM and left it sit for 10 minutes. When I reconnected the ECM and battery, everything worked normally. I recommend avoiding this place at any cost since I am sure I am not the first to get this bait and switch quote. BBB is my next stop after here.After attempting to follow-up with Frank, the Service Manager, for 4 days, his explanation was that I didn't know what I was talking about since Abel had quoted me $260 and Abel's witness to this was the Service Tech. I asked if it was possible that both of them might be colluding, and he responded that it was impossible since neither of them would lie despite both of them benefitting from additional money charged to me. I also asked about the time required to change the part and do the reprogramming, and he replied that changing the ECM takes an hour since there are a lot of other things that have to be done. I asked about why the entire job only took 40 minutes, and he stated that since it was a Master Technician that the part change and programming took less time. I questioned how a Master Tech could make the programming go faster and Frank avoided answering the question. I also described how it took me less than 3 minutes to do the part change *correctly* to fix their mistake that caused the fuel gauge problem, and he responded that I should have brought the truck back in and had them do the work despite Abel having lied to me. He also stated that all of my experience is normal for Jim McKay Chevrolet, that they had been working this way for years and doing just fine.It took a couple days to catch up with Elia, the General Manager, and the result was surprising but not unexpected. Of course, his employee Abel is an "ideal employee, etc, etc, etc" and would never lie. He pointed out that I did sign the repair order, and I admitted that I should have read it more closely instead of having trusted him to have entered what he promised. Here's where it got surprising. Elia tried to sell me a new truck using "magic math". That is, he used the sales con that when you buy one at $40,000 and pay for it for 2 years and only lose $6000 in value that you are actually only paying $175/month, not the $600/month that you actually pay. At least now I see that the lack of integrity is actually applicable at the entire dealership, not just within the Service Department. Although he graciously offered a $130 credit for future service, why would anyone take their vehicle in for a service knowing the likelihood that they will lie about what is actually needed and what it will cost will likely be a lie? Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Save yourself the hassle, and your wallet, and go anywhere but here.

I was told my son was approved for a vehicle with NO money down & NO cosigner. Once we travel almost 2 hours out of our way, we find out he needs money down or a cosigner. After spending 2 hours in the dealership we were told we would receive a call today. I called & left a message & still haven't received a call. The underwriter Octavia is very rude & disrespectful & probably the biggest liar they have there

I've scheduled two appointments to get my car serviced. Both times the people who have helped me set up the appointments have been incredibly helpful - even more than they need to be. This last time, I spoke to a woman (I think Rachel?), she helped me figure out what I should get serviced now and what would be coming up. She gave me a heads up about prices. Incredible customer service, customers are treated with respect and are given great information. I am very pleased and so grateful for such great service!

I had a great experience with my car purchase, 1. Charles Gantt was very friendly and first thing offered to let us test drive the car and take as long as we needed. 2. Also dealt with Kathy McKay who could not be more down to earth in the car sales business, as with any car purchase you have to negotiate, but there was never any hard sale pressure if I said I didn't want it that was it we moved to the next step. 3. When we picked up the car a gentleman named Willis showed us all about the options the car had and fixed a few little things with the car, he also could not have been nicer. As I have posted elsewhere, I had a very nice experience purchasing my new Traverse despite having some very specific requirements. While the process was a bit complicated and took awhile as far as the actual procurement of the vehicle, for me the process was actually easy and met my outside time need. I enjoyed the different style sales approach from our agent, something I can't say to the same extent for past experiences. And considering that I have only ever bought American, this particular SUV totally meets my needs.

Jim McKay Chevrolet beat all the other dealerships on the price of my 2016 corvette. Buying it was quick and easy,no haggeling, they just met my desired price and that was it . My salesman John Berry is very knowledgeable about this very complicated corvette. He spent time with me getting the car settled in to my satisfaction. I love this car. My name is Ms.Walker and im a district of columbia resident i was told by that xxxxx Stephanie that i would be approved for a vehicle and drive off the lot with a car and have cash money in my pockets once i purchased a new vehicle that was a lie you don't receive cash in your hands you have to wait 30 days for a refund then i was told bt octavia that i was approved and she was going to call me back never returned my call and the xxxxx Stephanie said oh she is sick i was the one who approved your loan and then u spoke with Ken and he says im sorry but you need a co signer or 2000 dollars down when i specifically said i have no cosigner or down payment do not never go to Jim Mckay dealership it is a waste of time

I called the dealership and spoke to two females who when I explained my credit history advised that it was ok and that credit wasn't a factor with the 88 program. Arrived and spoke with a Duane who didn't present any details about the company until prompted. I explained I was interested in the 88 program where your income supposedly gets you approved at least that's what was told on the phone. All he was concerned about was running my credit and to tell me about I needed a lawyer to dispute something that wasn't valid in which I told him in the first place. Was there for 15 mins and was told couldn't help.me after driving so far based on the statements given by the two ladies on the phone. Called to speak to a manager was hung up on and transferred several times. Called back several times and kept being hung up on as if they had Caller ID. Terrible terrible service. Duane or whatever his name is was a terrible sales rep

i recently visited this dealership because a friend of mind recommended i give them a shot.i have a low credit score, a few debts and was unable to get a vehicle anywhere since 2011.no one would give me a car. they would ask for a high down payment and a co signer.Not Jim McKay Chevrolet , Charles the sales rep there was very professional, upfront, work with me , put me in a Brand new vehicle, brand new , and got me a decent monthly note.the staff there was very professional . i'm glad i listened to my friend and went there.

The person I dealt with Charles Gantt Jr. gave him my card for down payment he went somewhere with the card than comes back and says take the card to the window over there next thing I know unauthorized charges was made to my account sad part is was I just got that card and used it at that dealership I was refunded my money that was stolen also ask for a second key he would not give me had to go over his head to get another key also was not offer gap insurance he was worried about some xxxx survey the service was poor even with the lady that did the paper work beware I will go there again

I came in to the dealership after being referred by a friend. I was in need of a car because my previous car was breaking down so much I did not want to put anymore money into it. I was a little skeptical because I felt because of my current credit financing a car might be hard for me. I was wrong!!! From the moment I arrived after being picked up from the metro station by Mr. Gantt the whole experience was wonderful. From the tour around the dealership, from the discussion about what vehicle I was interested in, the test drive...everything went better than I expected! I came in wanting to get a used vehicle but ended up driving away in a brand new 2016 Cruze! The customer service was out of this world! This dealer has to be the crapiest place on earth. I returned a car that I purchased three weeks ago, and the general manager said that I would get my down payment back. However when I came to the dealer there was someone there to inspect it . Apparently he found two minor nicks on the car, which didn't come from me (I have my suspicions on where it came from but I will save that for later) They say that I can get the car estimated and they'll deduct it from my down payment. The place they chose had the nerve to quote the minor damages for $1030 which should not have been that much so I went across the st to another auto body and received a lesser quote. However I'm still getting the run around because all I want is my down payment backI will be contacting corporate for all of the other issues that has been going on as well.

Layoffs and under employment are more common than not. With the repercussions of such events being felt in ones wallet as well as effecting access to credit. I was pleasantly surprised by the courteous nature and professionalism I was shown. I was completely amazed by the rapid approval process and knowledge base of the staff and management. I came in looking for a lease on a Malibu. The staff was all very accommodating when I discovered that I misinterpreted the finer points of the lease that I saw advertised. Patiently they walked me through all of the fine print that I may have missed or misinterpreted and worked with me on getting a similar deal. The customer service was great, as they took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and even walked me through some of the concerns I had about the end of the lease and concerns about going over the miles afforded to me. Buying a vehicle can be a real pain, but this experience was very pleasant and I walked away very comfortable with the lease I signed. I would definitely recommend to everyone.

This dealership was recommended to me, so I thought I would take it in. I took it in once to get an inspection and there were no problems. Thus I took it in a second time, and that's when the problems started. I specifically requested an oil change...only an oil change. When they got done they said they had also done a 27-point inspection, but that it was custom with every request. When I took it to a different dealer prior to this incident, they had also done a custom 27-point inspection and it was free, so I assumed this would also be free. It wasn't. It cost me an unnecessary $27, especially when I did not request to have it when I first brought it in. Then, as soon as I drove away, my "check engine" light came on. I took it back to them and found that some wiring was exposed. They said it was due to wear and tear and that it would cost me about $190 to replace. However, I took it to my trusted dealer in my hometown, and they said that whoever had worked on that part had damaged it in such a way that it looked like it had been worked on by "someone who did not know what they were doing". Bottom line: I will never go back here and I would not recommend it to anybody.

I bought a used car there on October 1. They could not find the spare key and the person who had access to the keys was not there.. After unanswered e mail and voice mail I went back and was told the person with access to the keys was not there. Next I called and the sales rep told me that the person with access to the keys was not there. On November 21, I wrote a letter to the president of the dealership and as of December 7,there has been no response. I suppose that Jim McKay's customer service philosphy is "We've got your money, no just go away and don't bother us". God alone knows what sort of problems I would have if this were a major problem. Avoid these greedheads.

Took my Cruze, which I bought used, to Jim McKay Chevrolet for a small water leak to find out costs to repair. To my surprise I was told that this particular part, a leaking water outlet, has a TSB on it and seen that my vehicle has done only 61000 miles, the part will be replaced free of charge. Service technician Douglas Osterman as well as mechanic, who's name I did not get but he has a beard, were very helpful and friendly. Thank you very much.

This dealership is best known of late for their special financing. Yes, they've spent a lot of money on BAIT & SWITCH advertising, working to get people in as prospective customers then completely changing their policy, and financing abilities once you get to the dealership.I recently was informed by their marketing department that I was qualified for a car loan based on a pre-approval and that I needed to come by appointment with the proper documentation and I'd be in a late model auto or SUV that same day.I no more than walked in and had taken a seat when it was obvious that I had been mislead, mis-informed, and down right lied to.Stay away from these crooks, they are nothing short of trouble. You'll experience first hand, as I did, and as another customer did that sat over from us while we were being assisted.His salesperson yelled at hi and demanded 2 thousand more dollars than he had come prepared to hand over. It was discussing how poorly he was spoken to. Don't go through it, stay away and learn from mine and others mistakes.

I came to the dealership with a car in mind, for which I had done extensive research. Tony, the salesman who helped me through the experience, was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I elected to spend quite a bit of time with the car and thinking through the pros and cons of my purchase; Tony balanced being available for questions with giving me enough space to not feel pressured into making a snap judgment. Once I decided to purchase the car, Tony and the finance staff handled all of the administrative components of the purchase smoothing, including acting on my behalf to get the car registered in D.C.If I were to purchase a car in the near future, I would definitely return to Jim McKay. I usually have a local dealer but they were not able to get me the year end closeout special on a Red Hot 2015 2SS Camaro and Jim McKay had one in stock. I did my research for the area, 50-100 miles, and found their Red Hot 2SS Camaro at the price point I was looking for. I was contacted by them through TrueCar we worked over Text messaging and when we arrived they had the car ready for us to look at, I got what I was looking for in my trade, and though they were busy the time it took was reasonable for buying a new car. I set up an appointment online with a representative and I went in later on that day; it was a Saturday. I was welcomed with open arms and my sale rep was very nice and personable. He got me in and out within 3 hours; I walked out with a brand new 2016 Chevy Cruze. I originally came in looking for a used car but after talking to him; I was convinced that the new car was the way to go. Drove 1 hour and 42 minutes to go here after I already told them my situation and Amanda was like you are already approved that's why were calling. Ask for Ken when you come in then they will know you are a preapproved customer. Look like everyone that was coming in there was looking for Ken. So the salesman take all my information to tell me I needed to put down a lot of money something I already knew because I told them I was upside down before I even came there. I was contacted from a representative from Jim McKay saying that they went by your income. I repeatedly asked if my credit would play a factor I was informed it would not. After a ONE HOUR drive there!! I get there and they verify my income then asked for a social to basically run credit I need a car bad and the way it was explained to me the credit would not play a factor. Next thing I know I am being asked for a Co- Signer I obliged again the car is needed and my credit is in rebuilding stage. It was late when I got there so the bank was closing so I was told I would be contacted the next day around 12 pm which was a lie. I called on and off from 1 pm until 8 pm from the rude tones to the hang-ups at last I was able to speak to the general manager Ken Richardson which he just put a Band-Aid on the unsatisfactory customer service that they showed all I wanted was answers and they couldnt even give me that. Shame on them for giving false hope and inconsideration to a customer. NEVER AGAIN!!!

For a person who has been in the car business for well over 15 yrs. I must say that I had the most pleasurable experience in purchasing a car. I have only made used car purchases in my life, but having the great sales experience that I had at Jim McKay Chevrolet, I'm sure to buy another car when I finish paying for my New Cruze. The. Sales Person Rebecca Williams was not only knowledgeable, and professional, but also incredible on the eyes, and easy to say yes to. I thought at first the car was too small for what I'm used to driving, but it turns out to be perfect for what I need it for and that's to commute. If, and when I'm ready to purchase my next car based on the Chevrolet line up, and the quality along with pricing I'm sure to purchase another GM product again in the future, but that Only if Rebecca Williams is a part of the sales process.

I'm so thankful for the help I've recived today. I was able to find a car and with payment I can handle. They looked for my best interest and they were very caring. I thank God for coming here and the dealer I had was a blessing. He was really try to find the best way for me to get a job with a good low cost. I couldn't ask for more.

I was contacted by several dealers in response to my phone call for second chance credit loans. I thought I would go to Jim McKay considering they're closer to home. Iman met me at the front door and took me to his desk although I was told to ask for Ken Richardson. Right away Iman gives me 2 forms to complete then he invited one of his home boys to sit beside him while I am completing the forms.. I hesitated to complete the forms considering I didn't know if they even had any cars that interests me. After his friend got up Iman decides to make a person call to check on some payment of his. Prior to making my appointment I mentioned that I wanted a newer model Infiniti but once we finally got to the car lot it felt as though I was being forced to make a decision with the available cars. I was told that a Lexus RX was a great choice and I literally drove it from the used car parking lot to the main office....that was it test drive over. I could not stand to sit in that show room so I decided to stay outside. Apparently the Lexus was new to the lot although it had dealer stickers but no sales price. I didn't find out the price of the vehicle until after they ran the numbers and called the bank for an approval. Later I was told that I had to put down 2000 to 2500 on the vehicle on top of my trade in. Then I found out that Iman took the liberty of requesting bank financing on a Mini Cooper that I only mentioned to him that I thought was nice....I didn't sit in it or drive it. Does it make sense for me to purchase a new car without at least test driving it and who told him to do that? I told Iman that I could not afford the Lexus and he should call me if he gets a car in my price range. Why did I say that? He called Ken over, now Ken has time to talk to me. After speaking with Ken I wish I had dealt with him from the start because he seem to listen and he shared lots of good information. I didn't feel like I needed to make a hasty decision with Ken and although he knew I was so over trying to get my deal down he thanked me for coming in and said he would let me know if anything comes in with my price range. Needless to say Iman was too busy chatting with someone else to say goodbye, thanks for your time, etc.... I definitely will not refer anyone to this dealership.

I have dealt with a few dealers around and finally came here and from the first step I put in the place I noticed a difference. My sales guy spent time showing me a lot of cars. Then my application needed more documents for my loan. Ken the manager got involved and he they really spend the whole day getting me approved for a low interest rate despite my not so great credit history. Thanks

I am finally driving after having an accident. My insurance did not pay me much since I owed a lot. I must have went to 6 different places until I came to Mckay and it was worth the drive. As soon as I came in, I noticed a busy showroom. But there were plenty of salesmen and all friendly. My issue was that I did not have a big down payment, but I did not want an old car. Since I did not have a car to trade, they worked with my small down payment and a lender that gave covered most of the car. I owe them my job because another week of looking and I would have lost my job.Thanks everyone at Mckay Chevrolet.

I have had multiple electrical problems with my suburban after I upgraded my stereo by using aftermarket speakers. I then went to two other dealers and nobody could find the electrical problems I was explaining and they could not duplicate it. After seeing their TV advertising, I drove all the way here and within 5 hours, they had the car ready.

You all are the best dealership I have ever been to. From the time I came in to the time my financing was approved everyone was very very patient and helped me get all the documents I needed to get my car. The BMW is super clean and in this hot weather the air conditioning is a treat. I really like the a.c. of the BMWs. Also my interest rate is the lowest I have ever financed thanks to the many choices and numbers of places your finance guys called. I will definitely come back to you when I want to trade my new BMW.

I have been to a few dealerships and I did not have a perfect score. Most of them did not spend a lot of time. One place in Baltimore was great but they could not finance me. My neighbor bought her car here so I gave them a try. I am sooo glad I came. They spend time explaining to me my credit. They also helped me clean up a false bad credit problem. The sales manager even called me on his day off. I finally got my car. The car was used, but it runs like a clock.Thank you All

We drove a hour and 20 mins and took us 2 hours to get back home in traffic. I explained everything on the phone before we went there. They told us that was no problem. We took everything told us to bring. When we got there they said you have to have a pay check from ur own company. We didnt even get to see the guy who they told us to meet. Lies so unprofessional!

Called before we drove 1 hour and a half away. Explained recently filed bankruptcy Was told over the phone was approved no money down with payment of 229.00 a month. Got there and sat for 4 hours during this time left got something to eat. While out received 5 calls 1 text and 1 voicemail saying everything was a go. Got back still sat for almost hour and a half. Told the salesman numerous times what payment we can afford. That didnt matter he was still trying to put us in something way above our buget. Long story short express my disgust and left only to be stop by another man just to tell me my credit sucked and no one will touch me or be willing to fiance us. He doesn't know that we are highly favored and blessed. And we will get the car we need and want but it will never ever be from Jim Mckay Chevrolet Fairfax Va. Worst experience of my life.

I will preface this review by stating that I avoid dealer service departments at all costs unless there is a recall or other problem that specifically requires dealer attention. My preference is to work with a local independent shop that does not see me simply as an ATM.My GM vehicle has a potentially significant engine issue identified in a recent TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) and the first diagnostic step is an oil change as part of an oil consumption test that must take place at a dealer. I scheduled a 7:30am (first) appointment with Bob (service writer) for the following week and was told that I should be out within an hour. In my opinion Bob could not have been less interested in my issue and the fact that it was going to be an expensive warranty repair likely did not help, but that is something for the dealer and GM to work out, not put on the back of vehicle owners.I rearranged some meetings and arrived shortly before the service bay doors opened. After waiting about 15 minutes I saw Bob who proceeded to get the VIN and other information and by this time it was approaching 7:50am. Bob asked for my phone number so that he could let me know when the car was ready, but I reminded him that I was going to wait. At this point he mentioned that it would an hour to 90 minutes, maybe longer, explaining something about "flex time" and the parts department not opening until 8am.I can accept the last part...the technician needs an oil filter...but why not get the job started while he waits? An oil change start to finish is a 20 minute job...30 if you check fluids and other stuff...I should have easily been out of there by 8:20. What is the point in having a 7:30am appointment if you don't actually start working until 8am?Not knowing how long I would be there I opted to take my car and schedule the service with another dealer. While Jim McKay is easily the most convenient GM dealer, if they cannot meet the basic expectations of an oil change I am not sure that I would trust them with a potentially significant engine repair.*****My vehicle is a GMC, not Chevy, but I was informed by GM that ANY GM-family dealer will perform the required service. During my initial visit to the service department I detected some reluctance to do this work, but after Bob's boss (service manager?) went to his boss, this seemed to be resolved in my favor, so I will give them credit for that.

While the vehicle we ended up purchasing is a good SUV..it isn't the one we wanted. When searching for an AWD vehicle for our soon to be baby on the way, and the fact we live on a mountain down a windy dirt road, we test drove the equinox which was a little out of our price range. Iman was the sales person who assisted us, while assisting several other customers at one time..we traveled over two hours to come to this dealership only to consistently wait and wait. It seemed Iman only wanted us to look at certain vehicles and wouldn't let us look around the new or used lots on our own...so he introduced us to the equinox but it cost too much. When I suggested the price range we were looking for he suggested a used Chevy captiva. When I asked him, before our test drive, if it was an all wheel drive, he said yes it is. I had asked him twice before any paperwork was done and he continually said yes its an AWD. We went ahead and put $1000. Down despite the fact we asked about the specials of no money down and $199 monthly payments which was apparently just a hook to get people in there..Iman said the cars that were offered at those rates we wouldn't want since they are pretty much dogged police impounds....he still insisted the captiva was perfect and it was an AWD.... However, during the signing of paperwork with Simone (?) I noted the paper work said front wheel drive. I did not want to sign, and wanted an AWD. Simone called in Iman, and he swore to me that the Chevy captiva was heavier than my current vehicle and would not slide in the snow. He shook hands with me in this promise. Simone and my fiancee were both witness to this.....we were conned into buying something we don't need and now we are stuck with it...further more Iman claimed to be a manager!! If he is a manager he should really learn to be more personal with his clients, slow the xxxx down, quit pressuring people into buying something they don't want or need and focus on what the client is really looking for!!! Because now we are not only stuck in the snow as I type this, waiting to get pulled out, we are stuck with a vehicle WE DIDNT WANT!! god as my witness I will tell everyone about Jim McKay and the awful service we got until the day I die!! BTW...we only had the vehicle a week as of today. Not to mention we are researching into our legal rights on this matter... Somehow maybe we will be able to get the proper vehicle we need for our growing family that has all wheel drive!! The only reason why I give friendliness five stars is because Simone, the girl that processes all the paperwork, was an absolute treasure to talk too. She has a marvelous personality!

I went to the used car lot on Fairfax Blvd. I was called this morning and throughly explained my situation- I receive a 1099, I don't have a bank account, I don't have money for a down payment, and I don't have a trade. I was briefly put on hold and then told this way not a problem. I drove 30 miles one way only to be turned down because I don't have a bank account. Then I was offered the bargain car section which consisted of a Chevy Cobalt and a small Kia SUV. These require $1,500 and $3,500 Down Payment. I was in and out in 20 minutes or less though.

I thought I was going to a dealership, but I ended up in a trailer park. I was approved for a 2014 Chevy Cruze and was told that I could drive off the lot with the car that day (09/11/2014). I was told by Jimmy the finance director that my tags would be available in 3 days. I stated to Jimmy that I did not want to drive off with the car until I received my permanent tags. He agreed, and said no problem. I called 4 days later and asked about the status of my plates, Mr. Jimmy said it could take 3-4 weeks. I received a customer service review on line and stated my dissatisfaction, Mr. Jimmy called me and said he was aware of my online complaint, I was stressing him out, and he was going to have the bank return/cancel my loan. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I HAD THE CAR??? It has been more then a month later, and to this day I have no written document explaining there decision. PLEASE BE AWARE LADIES AND GENTLEMAN TO NOT GIVE A BAD ONLINE SERVICE REVIEW, BECUASE IF YOU DO, YOUR LOAN WILL BE CANCELED. Please stay away from Mr. Jimmy the finance director, he is the ruddiest person you will ever encounter especially when he knows he's WRONG. I don't know how people like Jimmy have a job. Regional Acceptance is the bank they mainly use, and there as bad as Jim McKay Chevrolet. Please go to another dealership.

Worst dealership ever!First, my husband was told that his job was his credit, he was PRE-approved with no money down and they did not check your credit... LIE!!! Said we weren't approved, we left and 3 minutes later were called and told that we were approved. Went back the next week to pick up the car and was told that we had to do something else that we had not been told we had to do! Jumped through hoops and was approved. Ended up paying $1000 down and they checked credit! NOW, after having my car for 1 1/2 weeks, YES, you heard me, 1 1/2 weeks they called me and told me to BRING THE CAR BACK! Why you ask... because I am a teacher, it's July, I am going to a new school system, but still getting paid by my previous system until the end of August. Since we're out for the summer, it's considered I don't have a job until the new school year starts. This is with them having verification of pay stubs still coming in from previous school system and new school system verification of employment starting in a week when school starts! THEN the Finance Manager, JIMMY, has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! He was rude by telling me to have HIS car back by the morning or he was going to do this that and the other! Called me fraudulent, as well! After I continued to try to explain and gain better understanding because this made absolutely no sense, he told me that he didn't have time to go back and forth with me because he had work to do, as if I did not matter! I have never seen people who are so incompetent that they don't know how to deal with people! Whether I have good credit, bad credit, money or no money, I should have been listened to! I pray no one else has this experience with them! Because it is the worst! God bless them, because they don't know that they just messed with a child of the MOST HIGH!

I inquired about an ad I saw on TV about a no money down promotion they had on repo'd cars. I am in need of a newer and reliable car so I called about it. I spoke to an underwriter and she took all my income information and told me that is a government program and that they only have certain numbers of vouchers. I was supposed to go for my appointment with Alex on Saturday morning. I had to pull overtime at my job and I was unable to come to I called and spoke to Amanda in the underwriting department. She told me I was fine and that I was approved for an 18,000.00 car loan based on my income. She asked me if all my jobs took taxes out. I informed her all but one but that I received a 1099 at the end of the year. She said that was fine and she was looking forward to working with me. I found it weird that they did not check my credit and I know that they did not cause I never gave them my SSN. I rescheduled for Monday. Monday came and I had an family issue that I could not make it, Amanda rescheduled me until Thursday 5/15/14. My boyfriend and I showed up. I was told to ask for Alex. I asked for him and was told that he actually worked in a different building. Another guy took my income and residence verification, he asked me if all 3 of my jobs took taxes out and I said yes all but one but I get a 1099 at the end of the year. He said he could not use that income, I told him that is not what Amanda told me. So the final outcome is that I was not approved for the 18,000.00 loan which I was lied too, told all my friends and family that I was getting a new car, took time off of my job to get to this appointment because I was told I would lose the voucher. So I lost money there plus the 30.00 in gas it took me to get from WInchester VA to Fairfax VA. Not to mention the wear and tear on my 1995 car to get to Fairfax. I walked out of the dealership in tears and very disappointed. Now to today, 5/16/14, I have been trying to call Jim McKay this morning to get this resolved in civil resolved manner and I am getting the run around. I was asked to speak with Ajliah or Ken, Everytime I call, I am told that they are not in. I am very disappointed and hurt. I woke up crying. How are you guys allowed to do business like this? I have spent 700.00 to a credit repair agency trying to fix my credit and I thought that this was my award.

I have bad credit, doesn't mean I deserve to be treated badly, or misled, which I was, severely.The supervisor apologized but too little too late. A waste of my time. worse experience ever! I showed up, the car online was cheaper and that was the reason why i went there in first place. I got there, they told me the price was enter incorrect online, so it $2000 more than what it was online. I was in need of a car, so i didn't argue cus i trusted them. I got the car and it turn to be a nightmare. I'm spending more money to get the car fix, everyone keep telling that I got robbed and I should sue, but it was my mistake for trusting them. They told me the car was in good condition and since it was my first time buying a car and not knowing much abt it...I got screwed big time!!!! I would not recommend anyone to this company!! The bunch of rubbers!!!!

0n 2/26/2014 I spoke to Rebecca. I asked her if they had any used Subaru's in stock. She said they had six. After driving over there I was informed they had 0. Then they tried to sell me another vehicle. This is called bait and switch. I would never do businesses with this place If you don't believe me you can call 304-725-8095. If they act like this before they get your money you can guess how they will act after they have it. Every bad thing you can think about a used car dealer is embodied buy these people. I spoke to Rebecca at 10.05 11.07 12.31. Each time I told her what I was looking for. Each time I was told they had these cars in stock. After I realized what there scam was I tried to contact Rebecca. Surprise she was no were to be found. I tried to call her at 12.45 12.50 12.52 1.08. each time my call was given to a different person. When I voiced my displeasure wit there treatment of me some how my calls were lost or disconnected. Wow unless you can not get a car anywhere else. RUN RUN DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PIECES OF GARBAGE

I stopped by Jim McKay Chevrolet on Saturday morning (5/18/2013). I had recently been provided a Chevrolet promotion meant to get folks into the dealership and try out (test drive) the vehicles. The promotion worked as I decided to visit my local dealer for a drive. Unfortunately, my experience was terrible! The sales rep (Craig Caldwell) had no interest in honoring the promotion and insisted that it was not valid at this dealership. He clearly did not want to waste his time on a promo visit. I received no help. I have been buying cars for over 30 years and have never been treated that poorly..in fact I have never submitted a bad review on-line! (BTW - I later confirmed that the promo is good at ALL Chevrolet dealers.) Stay Away from Jim McKay!

I just purchsed my 4rh car from Jim McKay and I am a very happy customer. The people who work at Jim McKay are friendly, knowledgeable and most of all have integrity, which is so important in the car business. I also think my mechanic, Mike Ramey, is the best repair guy I have ever used. As long as I live in the northern VA area and as long as Mike works at Jim McKay I will be buying cars from them.

I bought a car from carmax but a few days after purchase it started to have a metal on metal sound coming from the brakes. So I went back to carmax and it took them three days to figure out what they thought was wrong. Within a mile of leaving carmax, the sound happened again and I was not about to take it right back to them. I googled a chevy dealership near my home and Jim Mckay popped up so I called and made an appointment. To my surprise , Mike said to roll on in and could start working on it almost immediately. That was a major relief. I couldn't show up that day so I stopped by the next morning with a friend to drop off my car. Mike immediately greeted me and had a technician hop in. After about a minute of paperwork, I left with my friend and 15 minutes later, Mike called and said the technician had identified the problem and said it could be fixed with a half hour!! And to make my day even more, he said he was only going to charge me for actual work done which was a half hour. Mike and the technician did an amazing job. I was notified promptly, I had great service, and it was a more than fair price. What more can anyone want from a dealer? A month later the problem still has not come back and I can say the problem was fixed. I have also had an oil change there since the original fix and that also went flawlessly. I have also convinced my other family members with a chrysler and a honda to come by for the amazing service and they are pleased. Every needs to use Jim Mckay Chevrolet for any service. They have me and my family as a customer for life.

My visit to the dealership was for service. I am very loyal to another dealership where my family has a long-standing sales/service relationship, but my preferred dealer is an hour away and time constraints made me look in the Fairfax area. After scheduling service and receiving an estimate for repairs, the service representative found I had an extended warranty and might be covered. I had forgotten about the extension I added on when purchasing the vehicle. I only thought electronics were covered anyway.In the end, I was prepared to pay a lot more for repairs. From the dealership's due diligence, I only ended up paying $200.I've got a year left on my current vehicle loan. Once that is over, I'll be looking for a truck. I will probably look to buy from the home dealership where I have history, but knowing that my home is now Fairfax, I may look to purchase from here. This dealership would be my first choice in Fairfax.

I was told by a friend that I should have my paintwork done at Jim McKay Chevrolet in Fairfax, VA. My friend said that they would give me a reasonable price and being that the dealership was right down the road from my house, it was super convenient. I stopped by one Friday afternoon to discuss the paintwork that I would like done, they were incredibly enthusiastic about it and were looking forward to working on my car, so they scheduled the work to be completed first thing the following Monday morning. They weren't kidding, shortly after dropping the car off around 8am, they began working on painting my trunk right away. They taped off the lip of the trunk perfectly along the curves, preserving the overall aggressive lines of the car. By Tuesday afternoon I got a call to come inspect the trunk, I was shocked at how quickly they'd completed the work. It was easily 10/10, the work was spectacular and I get a smile everytime I walk out to my car, even a month later.

All three of these employees are what make people buy Chevy again. I have a 2012 ZL1 and these guys show extreme care for my vehicle every time I come in. They let me watch what they are doing and their passion is customer service. I am picky over my cars and never am given attitude about how particular I am. Thank you for all your help!

I bought my 09 Silverado at Jim McKay and it has been a great experience ever since!! I recently got into a fender bender and damaged my silverado's front end, I took it to them and they handled everything! They dealt with the insurance company and got my truck fixed better than new! They did a fantastic job. I couldn't be happier! A++ Guys!

Both the used car salesperson and sales manager have lied about obtaining tags for the new vehicle I purchased 4 weeks ago. I made to two trips to the dealer because I was told that my tags were there. Another set of temporary tags was placed on the vehicle. Very unprofessional sales experience. I will NEVER refer anyone to this dealership. I wish that I had checked out customer experience before going to this dealership. I do not have time nor should I get the run around about tags or title when in fact it is there responsibility. They do not know how to treat customers that purchase vehciles. I completed application prior to going to the dealer, I received a call to say I had been approved for $48,000 when I got there that was false. I was approved but not for 48,000. I did see other customers come in and walk out disappointed. The commercial that runs on television is to lure in customers for second chance credit and believe me NOT everyone is approved, so that is false advertisement.

First of all we arrived at the dealership with pre-approval and the first thing the dealer wanted to do was run numbers again before we even had a chance to see if there were any vehicles that we wanted. We found a vehicle that we linked and indicated that we did not want to put any money down. We were presented with a financial agreement ASSUMING we did not have to put any money down. We accepted the paper work and left the dealership. OVER THREE WEEKS later we were called and told we needed to provide a $500 dollar down payment that was included on the invoice. The dealer indicated that he made a mistake but the dealership ownership was calling him directly asking for the money. This is by far the worst experience we have had buying a car and feel like dealer integrity is not in their vocabulary. I would not recommend this dealer.

Very straight forward transaction, Willis is very helpful and not overbearing. Nothing was misrepresented in our discussions and I didn't have to sort through any hidden costs at any point. Very positive experience.

I just want to state that I have bought many cars in my life but I must say I was never treated so good and fairly before this experience. I was not pushed what so ever. I was given all the information i needed and felt at ease with taking my time to decide on my purchase. Tony acknowledged that buying a car is the second biggest decision other that buying a house and i really appreciate him for that..

I went there on July 02,2012. Darin the sales Boy. Try to play me. I told him I'm looking for a good car better then the one I'm trading. Do you know him and Jimmy wasn't trying to give me a chance to pick my Vehicle. So they show me this impala that just came in their lot not even inspecting it, I was told everything OK. So I told them no I want to see an Malibu and they were like no the Malibu is to expensive and the bank is not offer you that much. But I was told it was before all of this. I got play to get this impala that been in two accidents and car door that been replace and paint job all over the vehicle fuel don't want to stay in the tank burn like crazy.I went to anorher dealer where I was told all of this because Darin big chess ball face did not want to give me a carfax. So I got an auto check where I found all over this information. This is not a good Dealership to go too. Trust me let your money be worth.

My car had a flat tire and GM sent it to this shop. They tried to quote me $900 for a flat tire, while everywhere else charged me less than $300. They claimed a few fixes that weren't problems. It is a place that honesty is second while ripping customer off could their moral.

My wife and I went to this dealer to look for a used car for her. We were not going to purchase that day just look. They had a nice Monte Carlo for sale at an acceptable price. It had rained about an hour before, so the car was wet. The salesman said that we could take the car home to look it over. I did not want to do this since you do not look for a car when its raining, but he insisted it was OK. I asked him multiple times if the car was ever damaged, and he said no. We did take the car home and sure enough the next day I was looking at the rear bumper and saw some grains of sand in the paint. I called him up on the phone and he said that the car was never damaged. I immediately brought the car back. I said that the bumper was repainted. He said that it was minor, but the car was not really damaged. So I asked why was it repainted if it wasnt damaged. He said that the bumper was just repainted in the parking lot (too lazy to bring it to the paint shop) but there was not damaged. I dropped the keys on his desk, and he started yelling at me about how it was a great car and it wasnt damaged. I left the building, started walking down the street, and hes following me yelling at me saying how Im going to have to buy the car! I went to the dealership manager down the street. He said that they would check into it, but they never called me back. Big surprise.

I bought a 1995 Camaro from Jim Mckay's used sales department. I ran the VIN and checked out the vehicle's car report. Everything came up clean. I did a visual around the body and underneath and saw nothing major. After a flat tire I removed the spare and found some broken glass underneath the tire so I took it to a friend who is an insurance adjuster. It turns out the car had been rear-ended damaging the rear bumper, breaking the rear window and seemingly crushing the rear quarterpanels. We took out the carpet in the trunk and found the seams and fresh glue where the quarterpanels had been replaced. The car ran fine, but the evidenced damaged severely reduced the car's value for resale. I took the car back to Jim Mckay to see what could be done but recieved the cold shoulder. Would definetely not recommend these guys.
