Well guess it all depends on how much money you can afford to sink into a vehicle after u just paid 1500 to fix it and for the warranty and they won't honor the warranty its places like this that makes people fear going to the good ones. I paid for the part everyone knows its.possible to get a bad new part. Why not just change the part and go from there some of us cant.afford to sink money we don't have into work that isn't needed

We were shopping for a vehicle for my teenage daughter. She was very interested in getting some type of Jeep. Marlon Jones greeted us as we got out of our vehicle. He was very personable from the start. He welcomed us to look around and said he would be happy to help us in any way he could. He then let us look around the lot. He gave us space which was very refreshing. He checked in with us after we had a chance to look around. Answered our questions specific to a couple of cars on the lot. He offered to let us test drive the vehicle we were interested in and we did. This was our first test drive and lot we had gone to. We thanked Marlon and told him we would think about it. He gave us a card and said to call him anytime he would like to work with us. Well upon leaving the lot our daughter said she really liked the car and she really liked Marlon's personality and would like to buy a car from him. Keep in mind he was the first car salesman she had met on our journey and she is 17. Well mom and dad felt the need to shop around for the next 2 weeks but did not find a car or a salesman like Marlon. Then because our daughter liked the vehicle and Marlon we returned. By then my daughter knew the difference between a caring kind and genuine salesman and those who were not. She knew though the first time to John Hofferer this was who she wanted to deal with. We love the vehicle and how easy Marlon made the whole purchase. Buying a car is stressful and we are thankful that through Marlon's thoughtful approach he turned it into a very positive and fun experience. Thank you so much!!

This is our 2nd trip to John Hoffer for another car with one of their dealers Randy Glass man he is the best over there! Almost 3 yrs ago bought a 2012 Chrysler 300 loved it and got a nice deal on it. Then just recently looking i had been looking off and on at the dealership always bumping into Randy and he knew exactly what I was looking for. The minute he got one on the lot he called me and their she was another 300..man Randy knew what I was wanting and got it for me and again a nice deal and such a easy transition . Fair prices, Great service and overall management folks are all very pleasant folks that is what you are going to get from John Hoffer Chrysler Jeep The best car lot in Topeka! I entered the dealership just to look at cars and ask some questions. My first sentence was "I don't want to waste your time, I don't think I want to buy today." Richard Harmon was very friendly and stated he had nothing else to do they answer my questions. He showed me the cars I had questions about allowed me to test drive the car even though I stated I would not be buying a car today. Of course I drove the car and fell in love. Richard offered to speak with his manager about holding the car for me until I got my tax refund back. We spoke with his manager and Greg Fisher finance manager. They made me a offer that I could not refuse. They offered me more then I thought my trade was worth. After getting the financing completed they found me the most perfect warranty program. They even offered to let me go home and think about it before buying! Multiple times I was offered drinks from water to hot chocolate. It was a great experience.

I bought a car from there in 2004, and the experience was great. I got a good deal on a crappy trade in, the sales person was really helpful, and the finance person was good (but unmemorable). I went back this December looking at a used vehicle. The sale person was ok, it's the finance manager who seems to be a problem. I filled out the finance information, and was told that someone would call me in an hour or 2. Having told them the payments I needed, the sales manager (Jim I think) called back an hour later and told me payments would be $60 a month higher than I advised I could go. Call ended amicably enough, I thanked him and wished him happy holidays. An hour later, he called back with lower payments, but still higher than my ball park. I did initially say no that night (was 445 pm), wished him a happy holidays, and he hung up on me. I called back the next morning (b/c I'm still not sure why I said no to the second offer) I told the sales manager I would like to proceed with the 2nd offer. He told me "You must have misheard" and that the payments would be the original offer. He verified this exact same thing back twice, claiming it was me who was mistaken. Talking with my mom, who had bought her car from there some years back, this is the EXACT phrase they told her. She purchased the extended warranty, b/c the sales or finance person had advised her that if she never used it, they would refund her money. Wouldn't you know, when she inquired about getting the 1/2 back, she was told "You must have misheard". I'd file a complaint, but he's clearly smart enough that in the voicemail he didn't leave any info but to call back, and there was nothing in writing, either to my mother or I. But that phrase "You must have misheard", used twice in separate instances just a couple years apart, indicates that is a new M.O.

There was alot of miscommunication in the finalization of attempting to register my vehicle in another state. My husband is active duty and it was explained we would like to register in our home state. They were very unhelpful in helping make this happen after the fact. I would not recommend using them again to anyone. Our salesman, Randy was wonderful and found me exactly what I wanted but the registration title clerk Teresa treated me with no respect and did not any way to try and help with the situation. I would not recommend this dealer after this experience. For the future maybe their staff would benefit on how they can better help their military community by being able to assess the taxes and registration process in other states.

Made an appointment with Tim Sales Manager to bring my Vehicle to the shop at 7am being assured someone would be there to take my keys and give me the rental. I arrived at the service shop the staff had no idea, nor did they have a rental. The behaviors of the staff was unacceptable. Almost interrogating me to why I was there. Finally they decided I needed to go the body shop. BUT the staff would not be there until 7:30a. The staff did show up and kind of knew about it. The rental car was indeed parked by the door BUT NOT READY. It had a flat tire he had to air up, the service light is on and a sticky steering wheel. Hopefully the tire will hold me over until I return the vehicle! On a side note on a 2013 Jeep I purchased, you would think it would have new wiper blades. NO it is making streak marks all over the drivers side windshield. I requested to have that fixed on their dime we will see if that happens! My 1994 at least cleans the wind shields. Previously I have used Laird Noller Ford shop, and will be taking my JEEP to FORD! Yes Jeep has better vehicles to choose from BUT they need to work on their communication!

Their service department is horrible. The can't seem to find problems. Most recent problem had a service bulletin but didn't match the VIN but the problem was exactly as described. Would have been resolved by lubricating a suspension part. Manager Hasenkamp did not return call. Purchased a car many years ago and said I wouldn't go back and I gave them another chance. Never again!

DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM JOHN HOFFER! My parents had bought a certified jeep from there around 12 years ago and ended up getting rid of it because they were tired of getting the run around. They took it in to get some work done on it and my dad was out by the service center where he could see the jeep in the shop the whole time and they never even put the jeep up on the lift to work on it. Then they called him in to pay his bill and give him his keys. So, he told them that he had watched them the whole time and they never even touched the vehicle (It was just to get an alignment, balance, and tire rotation done). Had he not been watching, he would have paid for a service that wasn't even done. About seven or eight years later I was looking for a grand cherokee as my new car and sure enough john hoffer was the only place that I could find one. I figured things would have changed by then and I shouldn't have any problems buying one from them. I was wrong. I couldn't afford much, so I knew that I had to settle for a higher mileage jeep and they had one that was in very good shape so I just went for it. I had noticed that the transfer case was leaking and they agreed that if I purchased the vehicle they would resolve the issue. So, I had them hold on to it to get it fixed. The next day I was told that they had gotten it fixed so I took the jeep home and, of course it was still leaking. I got under the jeep to try and see where it was leaking from and there was no evidence of anything even being done. So, I called them to let them know it is still leaking and there had been no attempt to even fix the leak. They apologized and said to bring it in again and they would make sure it got fixed. So, I brought it in to be worked on for the second time. Took it home, still leaking. Called them again, another apology and another drive to john hoffer. Finally after the third attempt, the leak went away and my jeep never saw john hoffer again.That jeep is still running like a top with 200,000 miles, probably because I had no work done on it there after that. I was in the market for a new vehicle with lower miles in 2013. I'm a huge fan of jeep after having my 99 grand cherokee, so I wanted another jeep. I looked everywhere in Topeka trying to find a 2005 or newer that I liked, but of course the only place that had one was hoffer. I trusted in the quality of jeep and told myself all I have to do is buy it there and then never go there again. Well, I bought the jeep there and have since been there on three different occasions in one months time.Turns out that not everything was working properly on the jeep like I was told. We came to a purchase agreement after I was told that if I found any problems with it in the next 30 days that they would do whatever it takes to keep me happy. I called them with three things that were not working properly and they had me bring it in to get looked at. When I came to pick it up I had to argue with them to get one thing replaced, but they finally agreed to take care of it. The other two things I just have to live with because they are to incompetent to know what's wrong. At least that's what I like to believe, chances are they're just waiting for the 30 days to pass before they figure it out. They will tell you anything you want to hear just to get your money. Once they have your money, you're no longer a valued customer and will be treated like a nusiance. I will drive across the country to buy my next car before I ever go back to john hoffer.

I'd like to start off by saying from the first phone call to my recent detail/repair work, my husband and I have been impressed. Our sale representative, Marc Thompson, was GREAT! He was never pushy or rude, unlike others we had been dealing with. He listened to what we wanted and made it happen. The entire team was awesome. I never saw someone who wasn't smiling. Any time someone walked past, we were immediately greeted and asked if we needed anything. I've had my car for almost a week and I am so very happy with my car and my experience.

I have used Hoffer's for years and they normally provide excellent service. My last experience was a bit unusual. I asked them to replace my battery. They said it would be 30-60 minutes so I waited. Instead of just replacing the battery (10 years old, had to have it jump started twice recently) the technician decided to charge it instead. After more than 2 hours they decided the battery was not good and needed replacing which is what I requested initially. Although they charged for for the normal labor time I spent nearly 3 hours of my day waiting for what should have taken no more than an hour. Like I said this is not my normal experience and I will continue to use them for all my service.

This week I bought my first car, a 2006 Mitsubishi Endeavor, from John Hoffer. My salesman, Randy Glass was incredibly helpful and personable compared to other salespeople I had talked to. Our afternoon at John Hoffer was very enjoyable and we were not pressured to make up our mind or do anything that we did not want to do. That makes a big difference to my wife and I. We test drove both a Jeep Liberty and a Jeep Compass and the Jeep Compass was way over and above the best investment for us! The comfort of the ride and the extremely great gas mileage sold us on the Compass immediately. Our new 2012 Jeep Compass did not come with a remote start or heated seats, but we were able to add them to the vehicle and in just a couple of days, the dealership added both of these options and we were picking up our new Jeep. We are both very happy with our new purchase and this vehicle is a joy to drive!!! Probably the easiest quickest purchase we have ever made. The negotiations were painless and addressed our concerns in a matter of minutes. None of the traditional back and forth with the sales manager giving a little each time. Simply old them what we needed and decisions were made on the spot. Went to dealer to look at new or used cars and trade in mine. Salesman seemed only concerned for himself wanted to rush sale gave me a time frame of one day or he wouldn't be able to do business with me. I have taken my car back to get a few things fixed they were supposed to fix and have had problems since. Service department was a mess they never knew who I had previously talked with never knew what was going on with my car or what they were supposed to be doing with it when I brought it in. Customer service is extremely poor with this business. I will not be back ever and wouldnt advise anyone else to go here.

John and I went there to talk about buying a brand new car, we had a 2012 Toyota Corolla to trade. The guy who greeted us told us that Bucky had quit and went on to sell large men clothing, Bucky was who we talked to when we would come in there. Anyways, this man told us that he had no time to sell us a car, they were preparing for a Mega car sale at the Westridge Mall on the grass. He told us to come there once they got set up, we wanted to trade right then. He took no time for us and lied to us and told us there was no financing man there and he had no time for us. To try back another day. We left, went out of town, traded off the toyota corolla, and got us a very nice 2012 suv, white, fits our needs. I suggest everyone wanting to buy from this company to go out of town, these people lie, and dont want to speak truth to you. We are glad we went out of town, we got a better deal. and we like our new car.

went to see about buying a car from this company but they had no time because they were going to have some kind of sale at west Ridge mall in topeka what about taking care of your coustomers that come to your lot????????????????

very professional...would highly suggest...5 star service.<br><br>The sales peson was very honest and great with the pricing...I got a great deal! The finance experience was the BEST I have ever experienced. This is an amazing dealership to do business with. They definately have earned my business in the future. Not only did they take care of me the day of the sale, but I had a problem 3 weeks later...my 3 year old did some damage to the back seat with a permanent marker...they gave me a vehicle to drive until their person came in and fixed the upholstry...wow I was sooo impressed. <br><br>Would definately suggest doing business with them.....
