I called at 3,000 miles to make an spot for my oil change. When I called, I was told to make an appt at 5,000 miles because they had used synthetic on my last oil change. I thought that was odd, because I didn't think they switched me to synthetic the last time. I did as they said and came back at 5,000 miles. When I took my car in, they asked me what kind of oil I wanted to use. I told them synthetic, since that's what they used last time. The woman was looking in the system and told me that they had actually used standard last time. I told her that I tried to make an appt 2,000 miles ago and was told not to. I told her I was pretty irritated about what had happened, she apologized and asked if I knew the name of the person who told me I had used synthetic, which I did not. I was not very happy with what happened, good thing my engine didn't burn

My last oil change was less than satisfactory. After leaving 4 messages asking if I could use a coupon they sent me, I finally got a confirmation and made an appt. They overfilled my oil which necessitated another trip and another hour to take out. Charged me for 6 qts of oil when my car takes 5.1 and would not adjust the price. Told me my coupon did not cover the service (after they had confirmed it would!) I sent a letter to their customer service dept and never received so much as an email back. NOT a happy customer and am spreading the news.

I made an appointment for an oil change at 11:30. I got there at 11:20 and no one knew who I was. I had to walk back and forth between three service agents for ten minutes before they figured it out.I FINALLY left at 1:15. 90 minutes for an oil change. RIDICULOUS.

Went in for oil change and free 24-point inspection. Oil change fine but they noted in the 24-point inspection that I had a dirty air filter that needed replacing. The problem was I had installed a new air filter the day before, so it was clean.

My car was repaired by the time I got off work and the cost was minimal. I am very pleased with the service department at Kendall Auto. CLEAN FACILITIES. always get my car serviced . if i buy a new car, would buy it from here. brought my car here from n.y. by truck transport. pleased they would take care of it , even when they didn't sell it. one dealer wouldn't service a different car, because it was not bought there. I had moved there after I bought the car. didn't make any difference to them. so they lost a future customer. It was not a subaru dealer.

The last 2 times I have had my oil changed they have over filled it and had to drain and refill the oil. This second time I mentioned that the last time they had overfilled it and asked them to be more careful this time. Instead this time they put in 5 quarts - when it only takes 3.8 quarts and only has a maximum capacity of 4.2 liters. They then drained the oil and gave me a container with less than a quart of the excess. Examining it later I saw it was marked as containing 5w-20 when the only oil recommended by the manufacturer is 5w-30. I called the Service Manager who had checked me in and asked him to verify that the right oil was used. He said he would call me back the next day. He never did. Three days later I called again without response from him and spoke with someone else who said they were sure the correct oil was used. I was unimpressed with the knowledge, service and customer service of this dealership.

This was my second car buying experience through Kendall Subaru Fairbanks- I always enjoy the friendly, knowledgeable sales staff who take great care in helping their customers through the entire care buying experience. This was my first time interacting with the online sales consultants. I was able to ask questions, negotiate, and essentially complete the sale of my 2015 Crosstrek from the comfort of my home. When I finally rolled on over to Kendall the car I was interested in was out front and ready for a test drive! My sales person: Elizabeth had all the paperwork ready and was able to get in me in and out of there in under an hour! Asta did a wonderful job in her portion of our purchase. And Nick the manager always makes us feel like we are special. They detailed the car and filled it up very quickly. The only thing that we could possibly complain about is that it took a long time to get into finance to sign the final papers. And that is only because it was a Saturday and they were busy selling other cars. So, we ended up being at the dealer a lot longer than we would have liked but the people were all super friendly so it was not an unpleasant wait.

I feel that the service has gone downhill in the last few years. They used to wash your car when you brought it in for service, especially if you had the warranty/extended warranty. This does not happen anymore. Also, in the past they have always gone over my report with me - this did not happen this time. At this point, I am not sure why I even go there for such times as my every six month service. I will think first the next time I am due for this service.

In March, my car had an oil change. I was informed at the time that there was an oil seepage which needed to be repaired. In succeeding weeks, I received e-mail reminders and estimates about the repair. When I finally made the appointment for the repair, I was informed that no repair was needed. Over the years have purchased several vehicles from the dealer, had older Outback in for oil change, looked at 2015s. Sorry to learn Subaru stopped making Outback manual 6 speed. My dog crate still fit in the back of the 2015 even tho it's a bit differently arranged, and gas mileage supposed to be better. Kendall Fairbanks (Lynn was great to work with) about met the good deal the folks in Anchorage gave me for essentially the same vehicle so said yes to the Fbks vehicle, and didn't need to fly to / drive back from Anchorage.

So far I've purchased 3 vehicles from Kendall Fairbanks (and their predecessor Auto Service Company). My experiences have always been pleasant; I particularly like the low pressure sales. If you tell them you are looking for an Access Cab Tacoma only, they won't call 2 days later just to let you know that they just took in a Crew Cab Ford with an 8ft bed that "they can get you a really awesome price on". More interested in making sure you get what you want/need than making a sale. Sales staff are knowledgable and friendly, and I've always gotten a fair deal.

I Like Kendall. We bought a forester there and I continue to bring my toyota rav there for maintenance. This particular time I haven't been able to get a call back from anyone. This is the type of thing that makes people upset. The very nice young woman that answers the phone was apologetic but said I may want to come in and talk with them since they are not returning my messages. All I want is a quote. I don't want to drag my 3 and 1 yr old in there when I could just do that over the phone. Don't have an answering machine if you are not going to return calls.

I first visited because the back tires of my new Forester were wearing unevenly (the vehicle only had 13,000 miles on it). It was clearly something that fell under by warranty, but they argued with me and tried to tell me it was my fault because I must be carrying to much weight in the back of the vehicle (the only thing I usually have back there is an emergency kit). A few months later I decided to tighten my belt and get out of the lease for the Forester so I could buy a cheaper used vehicle. The sales manager I talked to gave me the wrong information and ended up costing me THOUSANDS of dollars!! I now have a used vehicle which rolled into a tree when parked at my house. As my only vehicle it was important I get it in right away for an inspection to make sure it was safe to drive as it hit the tree pretty hard. The Toyota dealership is one of the only mechanics open on weekends. I called first thing in the morning and the person I talked to said she would talk to some people to try to squeeze me in and get back to me within the hour. Its been 7 hours and I am still waiting. I have called several times and left messages with many different people but nobody has returned my call. I guess its not important to them to have the business from a person who's vehicle will probably cost several thousand dollars to repair, not to mention the fact that it is currently dangerous to drive. I will be waiting until Monday to take my car to a mechanic who will actually appreciate my business.

My sales experience simply could not have been made any easier! Our sales person - Lynn Holmgren - listened attentively to our situation (after we had just "totaled" one of our cars in a collision), discussed our needs, located the exact vehicle we were looking for, and presented us with a great deal...with many great personal touches along the way. This is our second vehicle purchased from Kendall (and from Lynn at that dealer) and I doubt we would shop anywhere else. My driver's side windshield wiper stopped working, so I brought in my car to the service department. I was greeted by Mr. Bobby Chance and he said they would take care of it right away. I waited for just a few minutes in the lounge and Mr. Chance came in and told me it was all done. He led me back to my car and I was on my way. Fast and friendly service! It is comforting to know, as an Army wife, that while my husband is away (like he is now for a 6 week training), I can take my car in to Kendall and it will be taken care of. What can I say but positive things about my experience with Kendall Toyota of Fairbanks. I knew I needed a truck but was unsure of the maker I wanted to go with. I met the salesperson, Kendra Dixon, on my first visit to the Toyota dealership. She wasn't pushy and gave me the straight facts on the tundras. I was still undecided but went home and looked at the consumer reports that Kendra referred too. Everything she told me was true about safety and the resale value of the tundra. Once I decided on the truck I had to get my jeep appraised. A few days later Matt Fazio, another floor sales person at Toyota, helped me with that process. He was extremely personable and conversed with ease. With Kendra and Matt's assistance my decision to buy a Tundra was simple. When I made the final deal, Kendra had me in and out of the dealership in just a couple hours. She was amazingly efficient at helping me get the best deal possible, which I appreciated. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my Tundra and have zero regrets buying from Kendall of Fairbanks. Thank you Kendra and Matt for making the experience simple and enjoyable! I will easily refer to you guys when talking about my truck purchase.

I cannot tell how many hours Lynn and Chris spent emailing me back and forth before I bought my sienna. The following are the reasons I went with Toyota even though I test drove at least 20 vehicles in the community:1.Lynn and Chris went out of their way to answer my questions and research the vehicle I wanted at0% financing.2.I really wanted leather seats but did not want the package that came with it. Lynn set up the reupholster, getting me the leather/heated seats I wanted, even the color I wanted. Problem solved.3.I took my husbands Toyota to the service department; I had torn off the mud flaps when I got it stuck. I am sorry I did not get the name of the gentleman who ordered the replacement parts. I told him I needed to get it fixed before my husband got home, so he would not know what I had done. He asked if I wanted it permanently fixed or fixed long enough so that I could blame it on HIM! I am still laughing at that.The bottom line was that the customer service was above and beyond. I LOVE my new Sienna, and feel like I got the exact vehicle I wanted. Toyota of Fairbanks outshines any of the dealerships here, is proactive without being overly pushy. I chose Kendall of Fairbanks because of past experience. We've bought all our vehicles there for some years now (back when they were Auto Service Co.). My husband loves his Toyota pickups and, when I went shopping for a new car, I was hooked on Subaru (I test-drove one off the showroom in Jan. 2004, on snow & ice---no contest.). When that Subaru was totaled in a "T-Bone" accident just recently, I went back to Lynn Holmgren at Kendall for a new car. She was booked solid with appointments, but the new saleswoman was every bit as competent and knowledgeable, though new. Her training was thorough and apparent. Kendra Dixon of Kendall-Fairbanks deserves a lot of credit. For one so young, she is extremely bright and, whenever I asked a question she couldn't answer, she said "I'm not sure, but I'll find out," and she did exactly that. Kendra sold me the perfect vehicle, a Forester, when I thought I would "never drive a wagon." Wagons were "for old people" when I grew up. But it was just right for me. Comes a time when a 60s "wanna-be" young person has to turn in the flash & racing stripes for a damn good, reliable car. (I had a Dodge Stealth at one time.) Subarus are damn good, reliable cars! I will have no other,now. I have yet to talk to a Subaru owner who hasn't bought Subaru again. That speaks well... Especially in a relatively small area, population wise, but vast in distances. Word-of-mouth can make or break a Fairbanks business. I have nothing but good to say about Kendall Toyota/Subaru in Fairbanks. We have been loyal customers for over 20 years. This review is mainly for Theresa, the Shuttle driver since she asked if I would give her a rating. I dropped off my car for several hours' worth of work so Theresa gave me a ride home. We had a great visit on the way. After arriving at my home she gave me her card with her phone number which made calling her for a ride back very convenient. We had a great chat about my dog and she was just the most friendly and fun shuttle driver I have ever come across. Totally a breath of fresh air, not a grumpy bone in her body (*_*)

Both staff members we worked with were fantastic; fast, friendly and efficient. The issue was not enough financial staff on board (only 2) to handle the customer flow. After we had closed the deal with Chris, we had to wait an hour and a half to get into Jaclyn's office to do the paperwork. She was extremely nice and efficient, especially considering the the work load she was handling. Bottom line: more staff in finance would have made our experience much better. Everything else was top notch.

My husband and I recently purchased a certified used car. I was very impressed with how smooth everything went, we picked a bad day to go since they were low staffed but even with the Sales man running back and forth between customers he got everything done as fast as he could and he was very friendly. After researching ther site online, I choose to go see a 2009 Subaru Forester in person, and give it a test drive. At the dealership they didn't seem to mind my son running around, playing in all the new cars there, and eating their lolipops. As soon as he was free Malen came and assisted me with the vehicle, took my information and allowed me to test drive it. It ran great as advertised, and everything seemed to be in order. I asked for a quote on my trade in and what kind of rates they were offering for financing. He quickly took my information and started the assessment process for my vehicle. From start to finish it took quite a while however, having plenty of matchbox Priuses and a Scion for my son to play with time went by realitivity quickly and uneventfully. Finally recieving an acceptable price for my trade in and a great finance rate, the paperwork was finalized, and I walked out a happy customer.

Our first time at Kendall Auto of Fairbanks we were welcomed with smiles and felt at ease during our first visit. Because of this we were more apt to stay longer and really get to look at more vehicles. We did not feel pressured once to make a purchase at all but we were still given the customer satisfaction that anyone deserves. We did end up purchasing a vehicle in which we are more than satisfied with and have been grateful for all of the customer care that we received. The price wasn't any better or worse then the competition around Fairbanks but the vehicles that were at the dealership all were taken better care of then other places that we looked at. We found our perfect vehicle and the experience was better then we had ever expected! Thank you Kendall Auto we would recommend them to anyone!!

Worst car buying experience I have ever had. Absolute worst mechanics I have ever had this misfortune of looking at my car and ultimately the biggest mistake I have made in a dealer or car in 20 years. Would not recommend them to anyone except the chamber of commerce ethics division, BBB or possibly a real-estate developer looking to put in a landfill. I literally wouldn't urinate on the place if it caught on fire - so far it's been the only experience or thing about Alaska that I can honestly say I have disliked since being here. Would never use this company again for any reason ever. Thanks for the awesome memories.

We were looking for a dependable used car that was already prepared for the extreme cold of a Fairbanks winter. The names Toyota and Honda were high on our list of dependable cars so we visited Kendall's website. There was a 2003 Toyota Corolla on the site that seemed to especially fit our needs. We called the dealership and spoke to Malen who confirmed the vehicle was in stock. Later that day we test drove the car and it was exactly what we needed except for an ergonomics issue on the driver's side arm rest that made my wife's shoulder hurt after having surgery performed on her neck. Malen was able to find a solution by reducing the height of the driver's side door armrest and that sealed the deal for us. Thanks for your hard work, Malen, and the rest of the Kendall Fairbanks team.

I live in a very remote Village in Alaska, and can not take time, or spend a lot of money to fly to Fairbanks to purchase a vehicle. I worked with Kendall Auto in fairbanks, told them what i was looking for, where i was shipping it to, and they set me up with the perfect used vehicle for my needs. While in transit from point a in Wasilla to Fairbanks, the vehicle was in an accident and totaled.. But the staff at Kendall had me in a different Vehicle that same afternoon.The best part was that i never had to leave home to purchase this vehicle, I trusted them to find me a viable used vehicle, they out performed all my expectations...kudo's.I will never buy from anyone else. I had a great customer service experience, from the person who greeted me on the way in, to the service advisor, the cashier and the guy who brought the car around. It was fast effiecent, clear, understandable. I never felt like I was waiting around now knowing what to do. I was great customer service, and the car service must have been good because I did not even think about it once after I picked it up.

When i purchased my New Honda Civic Hybrid the sales rep was rude and was trying to push me to purchase a 3,000 service plan only good at this dealership when he knew i was leaving in two months. He also tried to force thier financing on me when i had financing of my own already set up. The service department on the other hand was completly friendly and thier reps knew what they were talking about. They went above thier job description to make me feel like i was going to be taken care of. The reason i rated the quality of work so poorly is simple. I took my vehicle in for them to fix a problem with my window. In the process of fixing my window they scratched my paint and damaged my door so that it no longer sits corectly. When i called to have them fix it i was told that there was no way they could have cause it but to come in for an appraisal. They made me feel like a liar and it just compounded to give me an overall bad feeling about this dealership. The only good quality of this dealership is the knockdown they gave me for buying a new 2009 model in 2010 and that they were polite when i came to setting me up for repairs the first time.
