Everyone there is super nice. When my VW broke down, I needed a car fast. They bought mine and I drove away with a newer, nicer set of wheels for a pretty fair price. Would recommend. Go talk to Mike Bowen and he’ll find you a nice car that fits your needs. And fast.

Great experience. My sales rep was Mike Bowen. He sent me leads to vans I might like, and once I came to look at a specific one, he went the extra mile to help out. He was great to work with. And there were a few things I wanted for the van that I couldn't get at the dealership, but Mike found vendors who would be able to help me, and even negotiated pricing I wasn't able to get myself. Just really great service.

They’re pretty okay but follow up is not so great. We have reached out several times because our bank is missing documentation for the loan and they keep not returning our calls.

After my experience today I’d totally recommend trusting your needs to fine folks of Volkswagen after working with first Hue who went out of her way to meet our needs and get back to me with answers to all my questions and worked with Shawn & Roy the GM and AM who made things work out for the deal and then finally Josh in finance who closed up our deal got us into a great upgrade that met all our needs. Thanks Volkswagen of Tacoma!

First time buying a new car (or any car from a dealer). They were very informative and friendly. We were seeing lots of bad reviews for this place while looking online; however, they said they recently went through a employee overhaul. So, there were lots of new- but still knowledgeable- people. It was an overall great buying experience.

We have been going to Larson Volkswagen since we moved here 8 years ago and have never been disappointed. Starting with the appointments on the days which are most convenient for us, the friendly and professional service personnel, and the quality and on time performance of the service work was and is always outstanding. Thanks, keep on dcoing it this way.

I went in to get my car serviced. We wanted 2 specific things done to the car and that was an oil change and to swap the spark plugs. They quoted me a price of $140 on the paper, had me sign in two different places and left to do their business. 3 hours go by, about twice as long as they told me it would take. After the servicing is done, the same employee told me that I was being charged over $300. I looked at the paper I signed and saw that the $140 written in pen was scribbled over to look like "$240" AFTER I had signed the paper. He didn't even try to point out the $240 on the paper. You don't change a document or a contract after it has been signed, and even if the price exceeded the quoted price, they were suppose to notify me before hand, which they failed to do. I ended up having to pay $215 for the entire thing after they quoted me $140. The manager is the one who helped bring the price down. As the employee led me to my vehicle, he said something slightly rude. "Well our service technician doesn't get to get paid anymore because the full price wasn't paid". Which I responded to with "Have a good day, sir". This place is shady, unprofessional, and dishonest.

Came all the way from Bellevue, WA, made an appointment to see a car, received confirmation from the Internet sales manager that this car is available. I informed them that I will be there in 30-45 minutes. Got there only to be told that their manager decided to drive the car home. Told the salesman to let the manager know that "he just lost my business"! Who would want to do business with this kind of dealership?

I just purchased my second Volkswagen through VW Tacoma. Go somewhere else. These people I have been dealing with for months over the phone on a lease on a Jetta that was ending soon (mistake to begin with I was young) received no help, was forced to come into office with a one year old and received no help nothing, major attitude lack of professionalism and major carelessness. The Finance manager Janice O. Was absolutely sweet and made me feel so much better about my situation if It wasn't for her bubbly and uplifting spirit I may have just walked away with my hands in the air and cut my losses. Myself or my family will never purchase a vehicle from this store again.

We had been thinking about a newer car that would provide better mileage. It required comfort and space for traveling and long term dependability. This translated to VW. While waiting for an appointment at the mall, we stopped in at Larson VW in Tacoma and was greeted by Leon. He showed us a variety of TDI models and later we came back for a test drive. When we returned, Leon was not available so we got Imar. He took us out for a drive in the Jetta TDI and then let us try out upgraded models on our own. When he got too busy, we got Jesse. He answered some of our questions and we decided to purchase. Taken into the office the time was getting very late so we were only able to complete part of the paper work. They allowed my husband to take the car home and we both returned the next day. Spending time doing more paperwork while the car was cleaned took another evening. After returning home we discovered the papers were incorrect and we needed to sign again. The clerk handling the paperwork was new in the VW department and wasn't familiar with the combinations of loan, financing, and extra insurance that we purchased. She offered to FedEx the paperwork but that is inconvenient to where we live so we returned a third evening to finish the paperwork again. Upon our third visit, my husband asked that a dirty handprint be cleaned from the inside of the headliner. The 'detail' department said they did not have anything to take off the smudge. The only thing they do is run the car through a car wash. In conclusion, the sales staff are great! The inventory is quite good, more color options might have been nice. The paperwork took way too many hours and too many trips from home on our part. Each trip costs $4.50 to cross the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Although the person doing our final paperwork was very nice, she obviously needed someone checking her work a bit more while we were there to prevent the incorrect documents being used, shredded and begun again. She was very apologetic for her errors, but we believe her supervisor should have checked in with her more frequently to possibly catch the errors before we left. We felt our time was worth more than being part of a "learning" experience. Thanks to Leon's efforts and his fellow sales staff we ended up with a great car.

The entire process was completed in less than 2 hours. Every step of the way, the salesman kept me involved as we negotiated the amount of my trade-in and the amount of the car purchase. The staff was attentive to my needs and I never felt pressured. All in all, a great experience.

I spent a month doing research before purchasing my new car. (And)To be honest I had forgotten to add vw to my list of searches. (But) luckily enough for me we stopped at Larson vw and was help by dj. We spent 5 hours (I'm a horrible shopper) looking and driving and talking and looking some more before I left with with new car. Not once did Dj or anyone lose patience rush me or use any pressure what so ever to make my purchase. I cant tell u how happy i am with my choice.

Loved dealing with these guys! From the moment I spoke on the phone by chance with the GM of Larson VW, to the trip north from Portland, Oregon to buy my new Driver's Edition VW GTI, and finally driving back home it's been nothing but great- thanks.I highly recommend everyone to give them a call and see what they can do for you whether you live in Washington or a neighboring state as our family does. Good luck and I'll be calling them in the future before making my final decision on future car buys if they have what I need/want. George Will, Oregon resident

You can read my whole review/experience if you'd like, but overall I suggest you just use a better option such as Campbell Nelson, Chaplins, Carter, or University. Keywords for this place: disorganized, unprofessional, dishonest (service dept), argumentative, dissatisfying, doubtful, arrogant... unfortunately the list could go on... No way will I ever recommend this dealership. I do understand that Larson's is a large automotive group, and I will be happy to dissuade anyone I'm in contact with from ever doing business there. So, here it goes...I was scouring the web, looking for a used Jetta. Finally, I found one with the specs I was interested in...When I first made an appointment to see the car, I showed up that Saturday morning as agreed, and the car was not ready as was promised. In fact, it didn't seem as if the salesman knew of my appointment. The sales people couldn't even find the car since the incorrect color had been entered into the description. After waiting around, the car was finally found. After inspecting and driving the car, and hearing of the service history, including the fact that the 40k service had just been done by the dealership, we agreed on a price. I left to secure my financing at my bank, and we agreed that Larson's would bring the car to Seattle to finalize the deal two days later. So, two days go by, and I find out late that day that the car will not be ready for 1 more day... not a big deal. Next day comes... no car... still not ready. Now, I'm getting the impression that I'm having my chain yanked. One more day... I get a call and find out that the sales people don't know what has happened to any paperwork, and can't seem to remember that they agreed to finish the deal with me in Seattle when they were finished with detailing. One sarcastically funny thing was that the person who was going to deliver the car didn't even realize that he was supposed to come finish the paperwork with me. I say it's funny because he told me that if the car would have been ready on time, he planned to just drop it off with me (i.e. no paperwork, money exchange, title transfer... nothing!). Finally, after waiting around, getting misinformation, and spending way too much time on the phone helping people remember what they had agreed upon, the car arrived in Seattle and we completed the deal as originally agreed. The salesperson was new though, and couldn't explain any of the paperwork (not exactly confidence inspiring). After he leaves, I only then find out that the car is delivered with less than 1/4 tank of fuel. Gee thanks for that. Next, after reviewing records and learning more about the car, I find out that the dealership has incorrectly documented the type of oil that they've installed in the car. Normally not a big deal, but the TDI requires a VERY specific oil, and the paperwork showed that they had done it incorrectly. After explaining this to the service manager, he explained to me "that I was wrong, don't worry about it". (what happened to that whole 'customer is always right' thing???) He finally came around, and agreed to change it out for me, but only if I came into Larson's again. Too bad that it's over 40 miles away from where I live, I had only 2 days to do it, and I had to do it during my own working hours! I also understood that he was willing to change my paperwork to show the correct oil (ethics???). He'd also explained to me that the "computing system wasn't updated for a new bulk oil service yet, so even though it isn't written down correctly, it's the right oil"... I'd love to understand how you can decide to sell something that you can't properly document. Does the service department also decide to sell incorrect filter part numbers, sensors, critical auto parts, etc??? Where do you draw the line? Bottom line is that any intelligent business wouldn't sell something that they couldn't account for properly. What a joke. I ended up paying for the oil change myself since I couldn't make it to the Larson facility, and they also wouldn't agree to pay another dealer to correct their mistake. Next, I find out that they should have provided me with 2 spare keys (the car only came with 1 key). Several other VW dealerships informed me that the car should have come with these, even if it weren't certified pre-owned.

Was in the market to buy the new VW Passat 2014. Saw they have one on Cars.com with exact same color combination I wanted. Send them a request and didn't got any response for couple of days. Send another request and then got a call from a sales lady(Rovenna) thanking me for interest and asking me when would I like to come in. I asked her to first confirm on the price, because I didn't wanted to drive from Kirkland to Tacoma and then loose a deal on price. She said she will check with her manager and call me back. Well, I never heard back from her. So I went to my local dealership, VW of Kirkland. They brought the same car from Tacoma for me and offered it at the price I was looking far. Saved me a drive to Tacoma.

We were shopping for a specific vw color and options. We called in and talked to a former marine Nathan S. He was very helpful he found our car for us and arranged a demonestration and inspection. Upon arrival our soon to be new car was clean and gassed up for us to drive. After our drive Nathan presented us with the financial numbers of the new car and our trade in. After very little negotiations we were completely satisfied with our new car transaction. Nathan is truley a professional who is respectful to our time and concerns. We were completely at ease from start to finish. If you want a smoth transaction just ask for Nathan. Thank you guys so much.

I came in the day after Thanksgiving and was not sure which VW model I would purchase. I was greeted cordially, explained my situation, and shortly thereafter they had lined me up to test drive all five models of interest. Having driven a VW convertible to the dealer to trade in, I was expecting to not be able to reach a deal since it was November and demand for used convertibles isn't exactly high. However, once I selected the VW Golf TDI, we quickly reached agreement on numbers that gave them a reasonable profit without gouging me in the process. The people are friendly and professional, the facility is first rate (including their newly revamped service area), and their finance person has almost 30 years with Larson. This is our family's fifth VW purchase from Larson VW. We have purchased from three other VW dealers as well (Campbell-Nelson, Auburn, Carter), but we keep coming back to Larson VW.

I called Larson VW because I needed a key made for my wife's 2001 beetle, I was told there were 2 keys available. A folding electronic key for around $260 or a standard key for around $70. Since this was just to have a spare, I chose the cheaper key. I was told it would be 2-3 days for the key to be made and they would call me upon completion. Payment was made at the time I ordered it. A week and a half later I realized I had received no call and called them at that time. I was told the key had been finished for a week. I was a little irritated that they promised to call and they never did. I had to take the vehicle in (had to schedule an appointment) to get the key programmed for the car. The mechanic had a hard time completing the job and took 2 hours for a 20 minute job. When all was complete I was then told there was a $53 programming charge. That stunned me as there was never a mention of more charges for programming. The $70 for the key should have included programming, or they should have been up front about having to charge more for programming it. Why on earth would I buy a key and not get it programmed? that should have been included in the price of the key. Not happy with them at all.

So, my husband and I kept going back and forth on our car selection. Joe Hampton, salesman at Larson Volkswagen, was kind and patient with us each and every time we visited the lot. When we finally decided on the vehicle we wanted to purchase, Joe worked diligently to get us the best price on the new car and the highest value for our trade in. The purchase process was painless, and Laura Johnson, the finance manager, was an ace at her job. We would buy a car again from Larson Volkswagen, especially if Joe was our salesperson.

Nathan Schilling is an OUTSTANDING Salesman and has the best Customer Service I've ever delt with. He's up front and honest and a true pleasure to work with. I purchased a new VW Jetta TDI on April 13th and Nathan was Great. He made the whole experience enjoyable. A couple of weeks ago, I found out my Niece was looking for a used SUV. She was looking on line at some vehicles that "seemed" to look good. Mind you, this was her first time purchasing a vehicle and she was getting caught up in all the garbage the other salesmen were feeding her. I called Nathan and had him do some research on the vehicle she was looking at. The information the other salesman was giving her wasn't even close to the truth. We were able to get her out of there without making a big mistake. The following weekend, she found another vehicle to go look at but this time I went with her thinking I wasn't going to be able to talk her out of it because she seemed to have her heart set on it. When we got there, I again contacted Nathan to do research and he did it without question even though we were somewhere else. As it turned out, it was another hunk of junk. At that point I asked my Niece if she wanted to go talk to Nathan and see if he has anything that would work for her. We did. It took over 5 hours and looking at several of the Larson dealerships (Nathan took us to look at anything my Niece wanted to look at) but Nathan was able to find her the right vehicle that fit what she wanted and was in her price range. Nathan went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND....I would recommend Nathan Schilling and Larson VW to everyone (and I have) Keep up the good work Nathan.Chris McCann

The salespeople and their team were awesome!I'm a bit picky when buying a car from past experiences, however they took care of my partner and myself even after the deal was signed. Not to mention the payments were lower than I had thought. Thanks guys!

In the past I had done business with Larson VW and got excellent service so of course when I was looking again I went bacvk asking for the same sales person I had dealt with in the past and found out he had since moved on but Bill Lucas assured me that he could provide me with the same level of service I had received in the past. I have to say that I couldn't have asked for better service everyone that I came into contact with was a real pleasure. I love my new Beetle!

Completely love Larson VW! They are always friendly and engaging. Love working with Jenna in the service department, she is very professional and has it together :) Shawn Yi has been our salesman for years and we adore him. He is the reason we continue to purchase cars from Larson VW. His customer service is unparalleled and he continues to assist us even after the sale!

Really a good feeling though the whole process of buying our first new vehicle (age 75+) . Shannon had models ready ( color interior and exterior ) for my wife to look at . She delivered the car to our home that afternoon ,a extra that meant a lot to us . John has a job that people have come to dislike , but he made it painless and actually kind of fun . We met Chris ,he said to call for service and warranty work ,I am sure that will go good too . Price , you always think you paid to much , but probably was about right .Earl Zahn

I have bought a few cars before but this has been my best experience. Charles did not pressure me and I felt like I was able to get what I want at a fair price. I am pleased with my purchase and will come back again, if needed.

When I arrived at the dealership I was greeted by a gentleman that worked there by the name of Joe Hampton. He was very friendly and was available to show me what good deals they had on some of their new/used cars. He was able to give me alot of good information on some of the cars that I was interested in and was able to help me decide which car would be best for me. I finally was able to decide which car I liked best and was able to get my credit and info together to help me show what would be the best payments for me. He was very helpful and I would recommend my friends and family to buy a car from there.

Great dealership! This dealer came through for me. I was able to take a car overnight which is not too normal since half the time most dealers won't even let you take a test ride by yourself. I had already made up my mind. I got a great deal right away. I needed to leave before we finished the paperwork and would return the following day. They had everything prepared and ready I only needed to sign and drive. So happy with the team at Larson VW. Would buy from again and recommend.

I had a great experience at Larson Volkswagen finding the car that I needed to fit my everyday life. The weren't pushy or trying to get me into a car that didn't fit me needs.

I've had a bad car buying experience from Larson VW. It started with a very low price offer on my trade in when they claim to offer 110% of Kelly blue book. Their offer was $3000 below. The service department took 2 days to install the theft system which is a one hour job. 50 days after buying the new car I still don't have the license and registration. They charge $150 for a documentation fee, but don't perform.

They first offered a trade in price $3000 under KBB, when all their ads say 110%. We finally got that straightened out and bought a new VW.Part of the purchase was having LoJack installed. A one hour job turned into a two day waiting experience in their waiting roomThey still have not licensed or registered the vehicle and the temporary licence is expired. They charge a $150 fee to get the car licensed and registered. After 47 days of waiting all they they say is the license is in the mail - a bad take off of the check's in the mail. I don't know if any of the screw ups are intentional or just horrible negligence. All I know is that I have a new car I can not drive, they won't provide a loaner until this gets taken care of and they won't refund the $150 paperwork fee when they didn't do the paperwork.

Larson vw of Tacoma will tell you lies that they will fix items that never happens. They promised me a full detail on the car I was going to purchase. I came back filthy . If you continue to harasse them they will actually do what that said . But will take days in the process and be a headache the entire time. They will talk the talk but not walk! It's been nothing but a hassle with this dealership ! Save yourself the headache and stay clear of this place!!!

I have never been so badly treated in all of my 63 years by a car dealership like Larson VW/Toyota of Tacoma, WA. They were ineficient, discourteous and downright dishonest in their dealings with me. The manager, John Brown, was especially inefficient, discourteous and insulting. I have several friends, who experienced the same kind of treatment at Larson(y) VW and Toyota. I went on-line to complete their own survey of their work and I HAD to give them one star to have my vote counted. I gave them the required one star. And I read over 30 of the surveys done by other customers and almost all of them gave one star to Larson VW and Toyota. I have sought to talk to a manager other than John Brown for weeks and there has been no response until I went to the Attorney General of the state of Washington, invoked the Lemon Law and immediately John Brown tried to call me, but I will NOT speak to that discourteous corporate clone ever again. I have repeatedly asked for another manager, Robert Larson or his son Robbie Larson to call me and it has never happened. They dealt with me dishonestly from the very start and I will never give them my business ever again. If I had been working with Rodland Toyota, Appleway VW or Roger Jobs VW I would certainly have a higher opinuion of a Toyota Yaris and a VW New Beetle. All three firms are honest, efficient and very friendly. "The customer is always right" and "Service with a smile" simply does NOT exist at Larson(y) VW and Toyota. I will warn anyone away from that dishonest company !!!!

I had set up an appointment to get my VW GTI diagnosed. My check engine light has been on for a couple of days and wanted to get a second opionion of what's wrong. I had scheduled my service appointment. Went in and they told me okay we'll see your car, but are you leaving the car with us all day?? Wait, I thought you guys were just diagnosing the car, not fixing it and this will take more than one day? I said that I think my throttle body needs to be replaced, but I want to get the car diagnosed first. The service lady said no we'll be diagnosing the car, but we need it for a long time. I said how long am I looking at one hour or 8 hours, because I didn't plan on leaving my car. I then explained that I believe that my throttle body needs to be replaced and need to explain everything that's going on. Then the service lady said okay so you want us to replace your throttle body. WHAT?? I just earlier said that I just want you guys to diagnose the car, not fix it yet. I will be taking my business elsewhere to get my car fixed since the service people are rude, don't have any communication skills, and want to fix stuff before diagnosing the problem.

No resolution to faulty rear middle seatbelt on 99 Jetta. Dealer refuses to pay more than 50% of a $350 repair. Seatbelt is not wear-and-tear, as it is never used, and therefore should not fail. Staff listened and pretended to care, but offers no satisfactory resolution.
