He asked what vehicle we were looking for and my wife replied, I’m looking for a Rx350 in Red. From that point Mr. Jones took very good care of us and was very professional. This dealer sold me a certified pre-owned ES350. I drove it home 500 miles, rear bumper came loose and the BSM system error light came on a couple days later. I took the car to my local Lexus dealer and was told this car was in a previous wreck and if the BSM system issues was due to the previous damage I would be charged for the diagnostic charge and repair. They also said the previous damage was not fixed correctly explaining the bumper came loose because it was glued on. I got 3 separate quotes to properly repair the rear bumper and the average was $2000. I notified Lexus of Merrillville and they did nothing to resolve this issue. So I have a Certified Pre-Owned Lexus that requires $2k of repairs and has a BSM system that does not work. This previous damage was not disclosed during the sale and the dealer has done nothing to rectify the issue after being notified. This dealer has been very unresponsive on this issue! Worst car buying experience of my life!

I really appreciated the personal attention given when I contacted this dealership via web to inquire about pricing for a 2015 RX 350. Marc LoveJoy was my initial contact with Lexus of Merrillville as he followed up on my web inquiry. He also became my salesperson and went above his call of duty prior to meeting me to finalize my sale. He gained my trust even before I met him in person. I explained to him my concerns and prior experiences with other dealerships with trying to get a price quote on my trade-in, which was a 2015 Highlander Platinum Limited. He right away sympathize with me and heard me without interruption. He was determined not to upset me further. He took all my information over the phone and was able to provide the numbers I needed to bring me into the dealership and close the deal the same day. I was even contacted again by a prior dealer with a better offer, however trust and honesty is priceless. My prior interactions with two other dealers left me feeling dejected. I had initially approached the dealer that i bought my two prior vehicles from as I thought they would provide the care and attention needed since my desire to trade in my current vehicle at that time was due to safety issues. However, the did not deliver on customer service. Even when I was initially contacted concerning my price inquiry I was told I needed to come in to negotiate which is what I was trying to avoid. I needed pricing to determine if doing the transaction would be worthwhile. Although explained I never received pricing for quote on my trade-in value, thus it made me reluctant to return. At any rate, I would recommend the staff at Lexus of Merrillville to all of family and friends. The entire staff made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Being a single mom in the world today it is important to be taken seriously and treated with dignity and respect. This is exactly how I left feeling Lexus of Merrlliville.

When I arrived at the dealership the salesman I had communicated with by email pawned me off to another salesman. The other salesman then gave me the keys to the used car I inquired about and said it was parked in the back row in the back lot. It was raining that day and when I got in the car I could not start it so I then walked back into the dealership and was told by a third salesman that there was a button on the dash to start the vehicle but he made no attempt to get out from behind his desk. I went back to the car, it's still raining, and did not find a button to start the vehicle. At that time a young man who appeared to be from the service department walked by and I asked him to help. He got in the car and couldn't find out how to start it. I then walked back in the showroom and the second salesman walked back out to the car with me and he couldn't start the car!!! He walked back into the showroom and then came back to the car where I was still sitting and said "forget this car, two other salesmen said it's not worth it"!!!! Are you kidding me? After all that time? The salesmen sitting in their office didn't have the courtesy to help in this matter but rather sat in their office eating Xmas candy and carrying on small talk. I will never do business with this dealership and certainly will not recommend them to friends.

I brought my car here to redeem a goodwill voucher provided by corporate. I made an appointment to have work completed but when I brought my car in I was advised it could not be done as the master technician was not in. So here I am questioning why am I even here? I could have been at home and we could've scheduled this for a time where there would be someone to complete the job. Two days later and we're trying this again, now the service manager Todd who obviously does not know the warranty information dismissively advises me that I cannot redeem my corporate voucher because it has been more than 30 says. The nonchalantly and rather rudely tells me that the $3000 worth of work is no longer going to be covered by the company because I did not redeem my Goodwil in the timeframe needed. After our exchange I contacted at Lexus corporate and got to the bottom of the issue. There is no warranty deadline, and Todd is wrong and his mistake/misunderstanding could have cost me over 3000.00! needless to say I'm not happy. Mistakes are made and misunderstandings happen frequently but the bar I find unacceptable is the demeanor and the attitude that I was given when trying to rectify the problem. Lexus considered a luxury brand it is not one I would imagine wishes to inconvenience and frustrate customers by not making any effort to correct the problem.

Our experience was excellent when getting our new Rx350. Ric Cov was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Our only disappointment is with the manufacturer's design in the automatic starter. It was a WASTE of money! You have to be at the car to start it which defeats the purpose. We WOULD HIGHLY recommend this dealership, finance staff, and Ric Coven.

Safety inspection was a joke, car was knowingly sold needing thousands of dollars of work. Of course the warranty didn't cover the needed repairs. Beware of overcharges on title fees. They refused to stand behind the car and was told we got a good enough deal on it. Yeah some deal! Stay away.

A couple of weeks I went to go get an oil change at the Infiniti dealership that was near the Lexus of Merrillville. I had been in an Infiniti IPL Coupe for about two years. I knew my next car had to be a sedan since my daughter is getting taller and a coupe is not cutting it. As I was driving home I decided to drive in and check out the vehicles they had on the floor. Mind you, I was in an Infiniti Lease that was scheduled to end the following summer. When I got to the dealership I was able to walk the floor without feeling pressured. I spotted one of the new Lexus GS350 F-Sports. Bill Parish was one of the sales consultants working the floor. I told him that I was just looking since I was still in a lease. Even with that, Bill took the time to answer all of my questions. I was surprised to have someone take the time to answer my questions on a Saturday afternoon when I clearly stated I had a year left on a lease! Bill then asked if I wanted to take the car out for a test drive. We took the test drive and when we got back he asked that he could run some numbers to see if he could present me with an offer that would get me out of my lease early. Instead of making me wait around that evening, he said he can take down all of my information and would call me on Monday. Again, I was happy not to feel pressured to stay and do the whole back and forth. I received a call on Monday as promised. Bill presented me with the offer they could give me to move out of my lease. We communicated back and forth that day over text and phone calls. By the end of the day Monday, Bill and I came to an agreement. I told him that I would have a short window to pick up the vehicle on Tuesday since I had my daughter's softball game that evening. Bill did a great job of coordinating everything from his team. I was there less than 2 hours. In that time Bill and John Desmet, in the Finance Department, worked out all of the paperwork details and I had Rick Coven, in the Tech Side, walk me through some of the neat features on the vehicle. Being able to get everything done so quickly allowed me to drive home in a new Lexus and surprise my daughter. She is in love with the new GS! I was on my third Infiniti and was looking to stick with Infiniti for a fourth vehicle. The great work by Bill and the Lexus of Merrillville team made moving into the Lexus family easy! The car was a big drive as well! I live over an hour drive to this dealership, with many other Lexus dealerships closer. I will recommend the Lexus of Merrillville location and team to all of my friends and family. Thanks Lexus of Merrillville Team, especially Bill Parish!

As a woman purchasing a used car, one would think this would be a scary process. It was anything but...... I found the exact car I wanted online and had a Car to trade. We bought a pre-owned 2007 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer in October 2014....5 months ago. Since then, we have replaced 4 ignition coils, which we were hoping would be the end of our problems for a decent amount of time. Well, my wife was driving home 2 days ago, and here we go again. Engine is overheating so she pulls over and there is fluid all over the ground. Had the xxx towed to a local Ford dealership and just received the quote of $2600+ to replace the radiator coolant thermostat and o ring ($974.75), replace left rear axle seal ($369.04), replace rear differential fluid ($66.09), Replace spark plugs ($354.86), clean throttle body ($119.95), perform alignment ($99.75), and replace both front lower ball joints ($594.41).This is absolutely inexcusable. We traded our Saab SUV for something that would be reliable and more practical as we have a child on the way. Thank you Lexus of Merrillville for all of the headache and financial burden you have placed upon my family. Since originally posting this review, I have been contacted by the dealership. They informed me that they take in used vehicles as is, and perform a "safety test" which I can only assume means that they look to see that the check engine light is not on. Nothing more. We asked that they run a diagnostic on the car before we make a deal and they refused to do so as one of their "professional drivers" had driven the car and said it ran fine. Stay away from their used cars. Period. From other information I have gathered, if you are planning on buying a $400,000 Lexus, this is your place!

I would stay away from the Used Car department at this dealership, and more specifically Willie Haddad, the Pre-Owned Sales manager. I found a Toyota 4Runner for sale on 11/29 I sent them an immediate deposit via credit card, sent them a signed buyers order, proof of insurance and my drivers license. At the same time i sent them a wire for the remaining balance. On Monday afternoon 12/1 at 4:30pm I get a call from the sales person asking me for proof of the wire. I call Vanguard(the mutual fund) to confirm the time they sent the wire and what time it arrived. I gave them all that information. I then spoke to the used dept sales manager. He informed that he didn't receive the money and sold the truck to someone else. I found out the next day that my money arrived on 12/1 at 1pm Indiana time. The manager sold the truck to someone else and didn't care there was a signed contract and that the deposit and the wired money was already in their bank account.

I felt no sales pressure during my contemplation time (several days, visits and test drives). The deal was a fair price on both the car I bought and the car I traded. The new car was spotlessly detailed and clean at delivery. It felt like a new car. Sue, my salesperson, was joy to work with and was quick in responding to my many questions by way of text messages. As if all this wasn't great, when I got home I discovered the spare tire had a bulge and needed replacement. Since it was not a certified car I figured this was my problem. However, a quick text to Sue and she told me they would order me a new tire and install it. When I had the tire installed, they also gave me new wiper blades and washed/vacuumed my car. Cost $0. I am beyond satisfied with both this dealership's customer service and my new (to me) LS460!

Yesterday I acquired my third Lexus only this time I decided to lease. This is my first time leasing and It was important for me to understand the process. My sales person Sue Iacopelli is the best. While everyone at this dealership is very good at their job, Todd, Willy and John. Sue is the reason I go to Lexus of Merrillville. As a woman sometimes it can be intimidating to buy a luxury car, not with Sue. She is kind, knowledgable and really cares about putting her customers in the right vehicle. She has integrity and truly provides excellent customer service. In January, I had a problem with my tires and Lexus road side assistance could not get to me due to a number of weather related issues. Sue came to my home and got my car and took it to the dealership. That was above and beyond service, but that is who Sue is. I am over the moon with my new GS sport and would like to thank Sue and everyone at Lexus of Merrillville for another great buying experience.

Went there to look at certified Lexus. My salesperson, Sue brought car out and remarked how car should of not been on lot as certified cars are rigorously inspected and all deficiencies fixed. This car clearly was passed by...but knowing that would all be taken care of we spent several hours ther e going over numbers and driving. Sue told me the car would be ready in a day or two. Talked with Sue the next day and she told me they needed a few more days to get car ready....no problem!! I told her I wanted to bring my trade in over to get appraised...as i wanted to get that process out of the way. Sue told me to wait till the Lexus was complete and we would do everything at once. Great...so I thought as the dealer is a hour away. But to my shock....Sue called me and told me they sold the car the same day I last spoke with her. How could the car of gotten sold if it was in the body shop getting cleaned up for me? Something smells fishy I'd say. But let us look and see if we can fiind you another vehicle exactly as that one. ... They sure did...with double the miles and more money!!! I thought bait and switch was illegal!!!!

A week after I purchased a certified Lexus from this dealership I discovered an undetected issue - front door trim pieces falling off vehicle. I could not get the dealership to return my calls to address the problem. Finally with the assistance from Corporate Lexus I received a call from the dealership and they eventually addressed the problem. Awhile later when I had my first oil change and tire rotation, the place where I was having this service done pointed out that all my tires were on "backwards". Lexus of Merryville had installed new tires on this vehicle but these apparently were special tires that were clearly marked "inside" and "outside" and all four of my tires had the "inside" side facing out. The dealership did not respond to my call to correct this issue. Kris and Paul did a good job of presenting and reviewing vehicle to us and we had no issues with John in completing sale documents.

I had a wonderful experience at Lexus of Merrillville on 3/11/14. My sales rep was Sue and I cant explain how helpful and friendly she was. She went above and beyond for me. I was undecided if I was going to get this 2010 BMW or a 2011 Lexus IS 250. I was aiming towards the IS 250 but did not care for the light interior but I loved the price for the car and all the other features. She went above and beyond to get me the black interior IS from another Lexus dealer not only that it had less miles and it was a 2012 for the same price. I was so happy I had to give her a hug and I cried on my way home. I will purchase here in the future. I even got a " thank you" card from her with a gift card for Dunkin Donuts 2 weeks ago. Excellent customer service!!! I would of wrote my review earlier but I wanted to drive my car for a couple of weeks to see if I really liked it and I love it. Best purchase ever!!!

I've recently purchased my 2014 Lexus ES300h from Lexus of Merrillville. I'd heard nothing but good things about Lexus of Merrillville, so I went in to look at and sit in a CT200h while shopping for a fuel efficient trade for my SUV. While I was checking it out, Kris approached me. He took a consultative approach to assisting me and genuinely listened to my needs for a new vehicle, which turned out to be extremely helpful. After we chatted, he recommended that I should test drive the ES300h. He was absolutely right; roomy luxury, and efficiency all in one vehicle. Once I had finished my test drives, I called Kris to discuss my specific needs for color and options. I thought it might be a special order, but he located my perfect car the same day! We worked out a deal on my trade and a good price. Once the vehicle transferred, I walked in, and in about a half hour was done with trade in and sale. Kris then took the time to make sure I was comfortable with the car, all the options, helped setup my phone, and answered all of my questions. He even setup an appointment with Lexus of Merrillville's tech guru, Paul. Long story short, Kris answered every question, exceeded all of my expectations, and was a sincere pleasure to work with.The next day, I met with Paul. I had some questions on the enform apps and bluetooth integration. Not only did he help me integrate my iPod, iPhone, pandora, and enform apps, but he also was a wealth of knowledge on other really useful tips on the car's features, including destination assist, edestinations, driving modes, XM radio, and text/email messaging. I left with the hot setup and my phone was fully integrated with my car and nav. More importantly, within a week of having my car I felt completely comfortable with all of the tech and nav features from Kris and Paul's help.The next week, I dropped my car off for a remote smart start install. Chris was super efficient and helpful at getting me in and out quickly with my loaner and helped me get my settings adjusted exactly how I wanted in no time.In summary, I have purchased cars from Dodge, Ford, Honda, Toyota, BMW, Mini, VW, Audi, and now my first Lexus. I have had both good and bad experiences previously. However I had a superlative experience purchasing my vehicle from Lexus of Merrillville:) I highly recommend Lexus of Merrillville based on my experience. They were great!

I had been searching for my "dream car" - a 2010 to 2012 Matador Red ES 350 with parchment interior and navigation - for over 6 months. DriveChicago.com found a 2011 meeting all my specs at Lexus of Merrillville, which is quite a trek from my home in DuPage County, IL. I was at a client in the area and stopped in. I was greeted by Darryl Jones who was professional and friendly throughout the buying experience. I fell in love with this car during minute 1 of the test drive, but I knew I needed to negotiate to make the dream a reality. Darryl and I haggled for a while to get to a price we both could live with, and we shook hands on a deal. The next evening, I had to drive my 2000 ES 300 (trade-in) back to NW Indiana from my Loop office to pick-up my new "baby". After paperwork and payment, Darryl was thorough and patient explaining basic technological features that felt to me like the Starship Enterprise. Like any good salesperson, Darryl sold himself first, and then sold the product. I recommend Lexus as the best two cars I have ever owned, Lexus of Merrillville as a dealership where I was treated with respect, and Darryl Jones as a true professional and a gentleman.

I would not purchase a Lexus anywhere but Lexus of Merrillville. Bill Parish took his time answered all my questions and showed me many different vehicles. After I bought Bill was there to make sure everything went smooth. He delivered the car in immaculate condition. Not a spec of dust anywhere. Bill is a true expert on Lexus products. He began selling Toyotas in 1981 and started selling the Lexus brand at one of the first dealerships in the country. If you want a Sales Rep who knows the product and can answer any question Bill is the man. I would not think of talking to anyone else.The Finance Manger John Desment is the best finance manager I have dealt with in 40 years of buying cars. Sometimes people over look the importance of a great finance Manager, but they are one of the most import people you deal with. John took the time to go over every option I had to help me get the best rate and lowest cost available to me. John also took his time and explained every additional add on they have. He was in no way pushy, he just wanted to be sure I understood my options and got what was right for me. John is the first Finance manger to ever sell me an extended warranty. Having a MBA I can assure you that John would never try and inflate interest rates or add unneeded fees. He would never try and confuse you with the numbers. If he goes to fast just tell he to slow down and he will. The General Manager, Pete Takacs was not there when I purchased my car. However the next day when I returned he came out of his office to thank me personally and ask if I needed anything. He called me by name and made me feel like I was the only Customer they have. Buying the car I did was a result of a life time of work... Pete knew this and made me feel like I was buying a Rolls Royce.Before I bought a car from Lexus of Merrillville I did not know anyone there. Now I feel like they are friends, ready to help me with any problem I have.When I am ready for my next car I am going to Lexus of Merrillville. If Bill and John are not there, I will make an extra trip to come when they are. They are that good!

I purchased a 2012 RX350 in July of this year and have had one problem after another with this dealership. The way it appears to me is that if all goes well your experience will be fine. However, be forewarned, if there is a problem this dealership will not be responsive or timely. In my case, their (specifically the business offices) lack of action, not returning phone calls, and claiming messages were lost has led to even bigger problems. I have made over 30 calls (yes, 30!) and have received less than a handful of return calls. I have, however, received many unfulfilled promises! (I only have a cell phone and thus tracking outgoing/incoming phone calls is easy and my count is accurate.) My main issue - I bought my car over 6 weeks ago and I STILL do not have proper titling or license plates! As it stands now, the GM (Pete Takacs) told me that, he, personally, would call me back. As of this writing, three days later, I still have not heard from him, neither by phone nor email. This is unacceptable. I have been getting the run-around for over 6 weeks! It seems their tactic of dealing with problems is avoidance. I have now placed the initial credit card charge in dispute with my credit card company, am sending a registered letter to Gene Kowalis Jr (owner of Merrillville and Orland Park dealerships), filing a complaint with the BBB and with the Office of The Attorney General. I'm sorry it's come to this and I am writing this review to make you aware that dealing with Lexus of Merrillville can be fraught with ongoing problems. In addition to the unresolved problems of titling and license plates, let me tell you about my experience with service. The initial detailing took three days! Why so long, you ask? Jennifer in service said she "didn't have time" to call to let me know my car was ready 2 days previous! I had to make 4 phone calls to get my car back - and even then the detailing wasn't done properly and the car had to be brought back for service because an entire handle was missing. My call about this problem went unreturned for nearly a week and again it took 4 phone calls just to get the part ordered. And when the part did arrive no one even called to tell me! There's more.but I think you get the idea. As a side note, however, I do want to mention two people who have done a great job of returning phone calls and trying to help in any way they can. Many thanks to Chris in service and to Ric Coven in sales.

Personally, I detest the automobile shopping/buying experience and classify it almost as "cruel and unusual punishment." Understanding where I am coming from and my immediately negative reaction to anyone involved in that process, I am willing to share some of my experiences when I purchased a new Lexus 350 RX in August of 2013. Sales representative, Ric Coven, did his best to make my visit a pleasant experience. Warning him on the telephone how much I dislike the car-buying experience, he took my threats to walk out seriously and minimized his "meetings" with his manager when I asked for something or made a counter offer. Although we had several issues to resolve prior to my accepting the vehicle, I would say that Mr. Coven truly tried to be convivial, informative and genuinely helpful throughout.Business Manager, John Desmet was exceptionally well informed, seemed genuinely interested in meeting my individual needs and clearly had honed his presentation to an efficiency rivaling that of an award-winning pit crew at the Indianapolis 500. I left his office having purchased two of the recommendations he made for ongoing warranty and cosmetic enhancement which I never would have considered from anyone other than this particularly gifted orchestrator of a sales' successful conclusion. He is a masterful choreographer/director of words selected, and actions designed, to tell a sophisticated story without use of confusing facts or unnecessary descriptors. Rather than his coming across as offensive or imperious, he left me feeling as if I had been in good hands the entire time, and believe him to have been remarkably honest with me. I found Mr. Desmet to be particularly well-qualified and actually a pleasure to deal with. He came across to me as an oxymoron of an automobile salesperson and a consultative client advocate, living together comfortably in the same sentence.

Flew in from Tennessee and was blown away at how well I was treated, I felt as if I was buying a new $500k Rolls Royce not a Certified Pre Owned Lexus. Kris was amazing, straight to the point, and above all, he was honest. Even though I live 7 hours away I will be back to see Kris in the future and will direct any friend or family member his way. The sales experience at Lexus of Merriville even exceeded what one would expect for a luxury vehicle. The showroom is very beautiful, comfortable and inviting. As usual, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly receptionist upon entry to the dealership. I was quickly directed to Ric Coven, the sales representative. This is the second Lexus I purchased from Ric. We had discussed my desires for the new Lexus RX450h and Ric had called when there was a vehicle that met all of my requirements. When I came in, the vehicle he presented was just what I wanted. He carefully described all the differences between my old Lexus and the 2013 model and demonstrated all of the differences. We took a test drive and I was sold. Ric arranged for the car to be delivered at the time of my choosing and handled the delivery paperwork. John Desmet explained the availalbe programs as well as the financial arrangements. He also advised in great detail how to transfer the extended warrantee for the old vehicle to the new buyer. Finally, Paul Kalrlin gave great assistance in the setup of the high-tech features of the RX450h. In all, a very enjoyable purchasing experience.

Staff was friendly and courteous. This is the second car I have purchased at this dealership. I feel the 2011 ES350 is far superior to the 2007 ES350 which I previously owned. I plan on keeping this car for a few years. I had very little problems with my previous vehicle. Lexus of Merrillville was prompt and efficient to take care of any problems I had. My sales person was Sue Iacopelli. She is very knowledgeable and helpful.

This is the second car that I have purchased from Jim. Both times I have found him to be extremely helpful and friendly. Jim also will periodically check to see how my car is doing and always remembers me. Willie was very helpful in helping get the process done in a quick time frame and providing me with useful insight. Recently purchased a 2007 Lexus ES350 with the Luxury package from this dealership. I just want to stress that the entire experience was eye-opening and refreshing from the moment I entered the building. The Sales Consultant - Darryl presented all the paperwork on the vehicles Carfax history, Owners manuals, books, and both keys. He took his time going over the features and functionality of the car during the test drive and inspection, which made my wife and I feel like we were purchasing a brand new 50K vehicle. After deciding to purchase we were then introduced to John who was very fast and accurate in the handling of our financing at a acceptable rate for a used car, he also presented us with value based options that made sense, primarily the 3yr/36k warranty from Lexus and wheel/tire coverage's. While the vehicle was being prepped for delivery GM - Pete introduced himself and thanked us for our business putting the finishing touch on our vehicle purchase with a Lexus Coffee Mug. Lastly Paul made sure the vehicle had the correct license plate bracket installed as it was missing from the front bumper. My Wife and I departed with a very clean and well maintained vehicle that was obtained at a fair price. After having driven the car for 4 days my wife is very happy with the ride and handling, and I have peace of mind knowing I have a low maintenance vehicle with a warranty directly from Lexus. This is the fourth new vehicle I have purchased from this dealership and particularly from the salesperson Sue Iacopelli. When I need a new car I call Sue and she works very hard to find me exactly what I want, assists me in considering issues I may have overlooked and in completing a competitive deal. She is hard working and smart. I very much appreciate the service she consistently delivers. In addition this dealership is comfortable. It is big enough to provide full service yet a bit more "laid back" and freindly. I am a particular buyer and the team addresses every issue I have. And almost always they go an extra few steps to make my experience outstanding. In fact I travel a little futher to continue to do business at this dealership because of the consistently positive experience. Usually this is the part of the deal I dread. John worked very hard to put together a deal that not only worked, but was right for me. John is the first Finance Manager ever to sell me an extended warranty. Not only did I buy it from him, but I was glad I did! No pressure just facts. If your even thinking about an extended warranty (with the technology on these cars today you should be) talk to John about it. He will make it work.Peter Takacs is the first GM I have ever dealt with that really cares and listens to his Customers. While I know his job is maximize profits, he is committed to make your buying experience truly outstanding. When I left the dealership I felt very good about my purchase and the entire process. We could not ask for a better car buying experience. Our salesman, Jim Hineline, was great. He made us feel comfortable and we did not feel pressured. Everyone we dealt with was courteous and friendly. The building itself is impressive and spotless. While waiting for your car to be serviced, there is a very nice place to relax. Coffee, water, Coke is offered, along with a TV to watch while waiting. Even a separate area for children to play with a TV with kid friendly programs. We came in with a specific car in mind. They did not pressure us to buy another car, but worked with us to get the car we wanted. Those who readied the car for us did a beautiful job. The car came to us in pristine condition. We made a return trip the following day to finish up some details we were not able to get done the day before. They were just as nice, even though we had bought the car. They could have treated us indifferently, but they did NOT. This is the place to go, and Jim is the one you want to talk with. We have bought many cars over the years, and this is surely the best experience.

I have bought about 15 new cars in my 33 years in Northwest Indiana and I have never had a better experience with a salesperson than I did with Sue. She was excellent in almost all aspects. Most importantly she smiles all the time. She makes you feel comfortable, she is polite and very professional. If you go to Lexus of Merrillville do ask her by name and you will understand why I am so positive about Sue. You will not be disappointed. I am extremely happy with my purchase and also working with Sue.

Purchased new car end of January 2012. Was told by both the sale associate and the F&I manager that you can get the car serviced at thier Orland Park, IL location since they are owened by the same company with no issues. It is nothing but a hassle when you go to Orland Park for service. Orlad Park claims Merrillville needs to fix the system and Merrillville says it is Orland Park's fault. If they are owned by same company and are selling the same car line it should not be this hard. Lexus is suppossed to be a luxury car line not a Yugo car sevice company. DO NOT buy any car at Merrillville thinking that it will be seemless to have it serviced at Orland Park. It just is not true.

We had a fantastic experience, which we drove over 2 hours for. We actually agreed on the trade in & Purchase costs over the phone as we drove to the dealer. When we arrived, it was 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday. The deal stayed true and several people stayed late to finish our deal so we could leave that day with the car. We were very happy with the experience and would highly recommend Lexus of Merrillville and Sue Iacopelli.

Absolutely the worst dealership I have ever been to! Lexus should be ashamed to put their name on this dealer. Words to describe them: DIS-HONEST, Shady, Unresponsive, Slick, and will take complete advantage of anybody who walks through the door. Drive down the road to the next dealership or find another Lexus dealer, I understand they also have another dealership in Illinois, so be careful. Sales Associates and Managers at this dealership are all horrible! The absolute worst I have ever experienced.

Ric has helped me before, with my first Lexus in 2008 and I was pleased to deal with him again. Ric is always helpful, informative and pleasant to work with. Willie helped me with details and made the experience a good one. He was friendly and patient with my many questions. My family has previously bought their Lexus vehicles from Lexus of Orland, which is owned by the same owners as Lexus of Merrillville. Since my parents had great experiences in the past with Marc (who was at the Orland location before) we decided to take the longer trip and head to the Merrillville location (he's just that good). This time around both myself and my parents were looking for a car. The treatment we received was extremely professional and helpful by both Marc and the sales manager Willie. They were fabulous in both used and new car sales! Marc found a car for me right away (2009 ES 350) and helped my parents with their new 2013 RX. They even stayed after hours for us to make sure we were taken care of, and Marc even sat with my parents for a long gruesome hour of teaching them how to use the navigation system in the new car. Such patience he has! Marc literally went out of his way to make my parents' trade-in on their 2005 ES a breeze, Willie made everything with my used ES perfect, and even the service manager Todd, was extremely friendly and helpful! Everyone in there seemed to have a smile on their face and the mood was very positive. I do not have any complaints and now along with my parents, they have a new customer who will be sure to return! Thanks guys!

Sue made my first car buying experience absolutely excellent. She was available to answer any and all of my questions and was very informative. Sue was off the day that I went to purchase the car. She set me up with Willie who also had amazing customer service. Sue even offered to come in on her day off to help. Willie was very knowledgable and also answered all of my questions. I went to the dealership because I received a letter stating that they were interested in purchasing my 2009 Lexus RX350 for around $29, 700, depending on the condition. It stated that I wouldn't even have to purchase a car. So even though I think most advertising is just a "get you into the door" kind of thing, I thought I'd try it because I do want to sell my car. I don't want another Lexus so the salesman that took care of me was not too thrilled.Well, after being told to wait and see what they can do, the salesman went into the back to "talk to the manager". I thought you only got that when you were buying a car! I guess this dealership hasn't progressed much at all.All the time my car was sitting right out front where I could see it. I saw the salesman take a 5 minute look at it, not even take it out for a drive and that was it. After a half an hour wait, I was getting quite perturbed. I finally asked the receptionist to get the salesman. He came out and gave me such a low ball offer, saying that it's close to needing new tires $800; 30,000mi service $500; a small scratch on the back bumper $; close to needing new brakes $ ....you see where this is going. My car is owned by my husband's company who has an in house mechanic so I know my car got more service than most people's. My oil was even changed every 3,000 miles.He just assumed all these things were going to need fixing so that he could warrant the low price.It was just such poor customer relations that I for sure, won't be back to purchase another car from this dealership.

I recommend Lexus of Merrillville because the people who work there are knowledgeable amd more importantly personable . Which was very important to me, coming from a Ford dealership, before I would become so mad at how they treat you! And they put you in there waiting room with really bad service. Glad to be done with the ford dealer. Mark Lovejoy was extremely patient with me and answered all my questions honestly! Also, Willie Haddad helped thru the buying process and he lightened my mood while I was extremely stressed with humor. I was pleasantly surprised as to how friendly they all make you feel! Mark Lovejoy is a wonderful and thoughtful salesman, who has a customer for life! Willie has helped with other stuff on my car and always is so nice to me. Great place to buy a vehicle! Lisa who answers the phones is awesome! And Todd in service always answers and takes his time with all of my "stupid questions!" It truly is nice to know that there is a honest car dealership still out there!

I would not recommend anyone to go this dealership. I called in to work out the price 33,200 out the door for 2007 Mercedes Benz Gl 470. I get to the dealership and find out car was not properly maintained. It had a nail in the tire. The wheel alignment was not done and it seems dealership didnt care about the car. We had worked price with dealership prior not only did they not honor the price. They had only one key. On the car it wrote that car had a 2 year powertrain warranty came with car but after trying starting to fill out the paperwork they stated that car has no warranty. This has to be most fraud dealership. Their service manager Walli Hadad is crook. The sale person lies to pull you into the dealership. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Please stay way. This dealership sale people are crooks.

We have always been impressed with the service department when we brought our car in to be seviced in the past. Larry Giannini gives that department his upmost attention and I feel very comfortable leaving my car in his department's very capable hands. Sue workded with us in finding the car we had in mind and explained everything about the car that may have been new to us. Sue also assured us she would be there for us if we had any further questions.John went over all of the businss and warranty issues that was involved in purchasing a new car, which was very involved, and he covered everything very thoroughly. I DID NOT hear are you ready to buy today? The basic car sales 101. Over the years Todd and Larry hav given me service that simply spoiled me with all my first lexus sevice visits. Free car washes and free honest pricing with ideas on how to save money on many auto repairs. I spent more yet I get more service and more at trade in. My first one has 132k miles. We drove from a distance to look at a 2010 hardtop convertible. We loved the service, the dealership and Sue Iacopelli our sales consultant. The car is amazing and drives very smooth. We purchased a used Toyota Sienna from the internet and drove from Iowa (5 hrs away!!) to pick up the car. After getting the car home we realized the rear of the van was not getting air from the heater to it due to damage from the spare tire underneath. We had an agreement with Willie that LEXUS OF MERRILLVILLE would cover the repair costs as long as we took the vehicle to a certified Toyota dealership, which we did. There was a long delay in us getting the check but Willie kept his word and made sure the check came thru. I commend the dealership for agreeing to pay for damage on a used vehicle when most dealerships would have said "sorry, sold as is" and left it at that.The only knock I have is the persistance of the guy pushing the extended warranty on us before we could get out of there... but thats his job.I would recommend Lexus of Merillville and Willie to purchasers locally and out of town.

From the time I started looking at the Certified Pre-Owned Lexus GX470, I was met by my sales consultant, Ric Coven. As Mr. Coven approached me, I wondered what kind of first impression we would have on each other. In the past, I have not had the best of experiences at other dealerships. When I walked into the dealership, I knew which model I wanted to look at and test drive. Sue approached me and was very courteous and helpful. She brought in a RX 350that had the options I was looking for. She explained all the options to me and how they work. She was really patient with all my questions. She let me test drive the vehicle and did not pressure me at all. When I went in to order the vehicle, I had a very pleasant price negotiating experience. When my vehicle was not going to come in on time, I was quickly given a loaner RX 350 to drive. This dealership went above and beyond to make my car buying experience great. Buying a used car is supposed to be a painful, frustrating, intimidating, long/drawn out process..... My experience at Lexus of Merrillville was the exact opposite. From the minute Jim Lebo greeted me and took me on a test drive, to the signing of the financing paperwork with John Desmet, I was treated with an unexpected amount of courtesy, professionalism, friendliness, and respect. I was visiting to test drive a $9000 used car with 89000mi and I was treated as though I was purchasing a new LS460h. At no point during the purchasing process did I feel like someone was trying to sell me something, instead I felt like Jim and the financing department were working with me and helping me, as opposed to helping themselves and the dealership by profiting at my expense. I never felt like any terms or charges were forced upon me and the terms of the purchase were extremely reasonable especially the inclusion of the 3yr/30000mi warranty on a vehicle with 89000 already. Lexus/Toyota really do make some of the most reliable/dependable vehicles on the road today. My experience, in short, was exceptional- I will be purchasing another Lexus in the future and I hope to deal with the folks in Merrillville when that time comes- And Jim- as per our conversation- I do believe there may be an LFA in my future- just give me a few years, I'm not quite there yet!!! We had a pleasant buying experience at the Lexus dealership in Merrillville (associated with Lexus of Orland). We are inexperienced in buying used cars in this manner, as we have most often ordered new vehicles from GM, or more recently, asking a dealer friend to find us one at a car auction. From the moment we walked into the dealership, we could tell it was high class and customer-oriented, not simply sales-oriented as many are. Kris took the time we needed to evaluate and test-drive the pre-owned vehicles we inquired about, and brought in the sales manager at the appropriate time. Neither of them tried to pressure us into a purchase that would have been less than satisfactory, but did make offers for vehicles on hand that were closest to our desires, and suggested the very logical option of purchasing a new model exactly as we wanted. Kris and Willy continued to look to place us into the car we were looking for. When it became available a few weeks later, it was the right vehicle for us, and was not lacking in any of our expectations. It still needed detailing and repair of a couple interior and exterior ailments, and they were willing to take care of them before we picked it up the next weekend, at our request. When we came to pick it up, it was cleaned and prepared as promised. We are looking forward to a long-lasting relationship with this quality-made vehicle and a high-quality dealership.

My experience purchasing my 2005 Honda CR-V from Jim Lebo was a good one. My opinion of the dealership changed greatly when it came to receiving my title. It's going on 32 days and I still have not received it. We receive the runaround when calling on it. The calls placed have not been promptly returned. After being told the title was at the DMV, we called the Indiana DMV to find they have no record of this in the system. I am very saddened that my good car buying experience has gone horribly wrong. The delay in my title caused me to lose a very good financing rate from my bank. I am even more upset by the horrible service I've received from Lexus regarding the issue.Jim Lebo has been good about contacting me in regards to a missing spare tire key that was never recovered. His responses to that matter were much appreciated, even though the end result was a busted tire bolt and purchase of new tires.

I wanted a 2011 RX and I informed Mark what I wanted and what I did not need. I informed him of the interior color,style,exterior color and year. I gave him a secord choice that I might accept. He informed me that he wanted me to be happy with what I purchase. I informed him to stay within a figure that I could agree to, for I live on a budget. Mark told me that they did not have the car I requested in stock, but he would have the car in a day. Within 24 hours he called me and stated that he found the RX and I would be please. He Communicated that he was waitng on delivery and would call me when I would be able to pick the car up. He was deligent and on target of meetig my first choice. When it came to getting the staff to cleaning the car switching my personal items to the new car he did not miss a beat. They did not remember my ipass and cleaning the mats he was on it. He went over the features and gave me the opportunity to demostrate, before I completed the paper work. I have been driving a lexus for over ten years, but he patiently explain and demorstrated how to work the new features of the 2011 RX. He stated that I could call him if I had questions after delivery. This is an individual that takes time to talk to me and addresses my concerns each time I visit the dealership, and I visit weekly. I have oberserved him with other customers and he goes over 100% to please all of the customes who come in for car wash or service. Mark is the reason I keep coming back to Lexus of Merriville.

The reason I continue to purchase from them is because my salesperson, Marc Lovejoy, consistently goes beyond the call of duty. The sales process is always quick and seamless and everyone I've come in contact with is very friendly. Marc keeps in contact with me periodically and informs me of any special deals or financing options available at the dealership. Lastly, it is important for him to know that I am a happy customer even after the sales process is complete. In addition, good customer service is hard to come by nowadays. I phoned in to see if a vehicle was still on the lot, and spoke with Tom. He was ready to have the car inside, not even knowing if I would make it in to see it. (raining hard). We bought the car that night, mainly because there was no pressure from Tom. Like a lot of people, I knew what I wanted and he did not try pushing us into something else. He knows the ins and outs of vehicle dealings which also was a plus. Even if I walked in to buy a car and Tom forgot my name, as you can see from the other reviews and mine on Tom and the dealership, thats why you'd repeat business there, because your concerns on big purchases are easy and worry free. My car deal had issues that Tom took care of as quicky as possible. Financing went just as easy with plenty of time to understand everything. This is our second RX Hybrid. The backup camera is so much better and the bluetooth phone is improved also. It sounds like the person is right in the car with you. SueIacopelli is professional and courteous and wonderful to work with. She spent time going over the new features on this 2011. When paying for the car, we were offered several supplemental purchases but were never pressured into purchasing any one of them. It is truly a pleasure to get our car serviced at Lexus of Merrillville. They make it such an enjoyable experience that one forgets he is even sitting down and waiting for a car to be serviced. Todd Sobczak, the assistant service manager, has always gone out of his way to explain car functions and service needs in the simplest of terms, and James DeBord, the dealership service representative, is always the most accommodating and approachable professional. George Krizman, who sold us our present Lexus, was indispensable in explaining even the most minute functions of our vehicle. He gave us our space to examine the vehicle to see if we really wanted to purchase at this time.Being females, we at no time experienced a condescending attitude and were admired for the homework we had done prior to entering the dealership. This attitude should not be surprising, but we actually had an extremely negative experience at a Lexus dealership in Illinois and were quite soured at the prospect of purchasing another Lexus. Luckily we decided to give Lexus of Merrillville a try and have recently purchased our second Lexus there. By the time we got home, we received an email from George Krizman and an accompanying phone call thanking us for our purchase and reminding us to call with any questions we may have in the future. We highly recommend Lexus of Merrillville to not only Hoosier residents but highly recommend those living in nearby states to make the trek to this wonderful establishment.

This is the second Lexus we have bought from Tom Gibbons at Lexus of Merrillville. He is our reason for returning. Tom goes out of his way to make sure you are happy with the vehicle you purchase. He spent so much time explaining everything on this new car to us. He is friendly and courteous and always goes the extra mile and even laughed at my husband's jokes. We have also been happy with the service department at Lexus of Merrillville.

I purchased a new ES350 from this Lexus dealership. After visiting another dealership, I was immediately impressed by the "CURB APPEAL" when I drove onto the lot. My salesperson was Sue Iacopelli, she approached me with a smile and in a professional manner. Sue was very knowledgeable about all of her vehicles and had the patience to deal with my many questions and several test drives. After making my choice, Sue arranged for my trade-in to be evaluated and explained all financing options. Having already researched the value of my current vehicle, I was please with her offer as well as the final price on my new 350. I have and will continue to send friends and family to do business with Sue and Lexus of Merriville.

I have bought 5 used cars (ES 330, ES 300, GS 350, ES 350 and a Nissan Murano) from this dealer for my family and friends so far. from the day I first walked into this dealership Tom Gibbons has been the best! He has been very accomodating to me. He explained to me everything about the car and any issue I had he has been very informative. Whenever I bring it in for a car wash he always asks me if I had any questions or if I have any issues that need to be addressed. Your service department has been excellent also. I had an issue with the tire pressure and they took my car in and fixed it and also returned it to me washed.
