I recently purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy. It was a pleasant experience working with Dylan Maher of Liberty Hyundai. He was honest, professional and attentive to my needs. Never once was I pressured during the process. Although, on the day I decided to purchase my vehicle there were premiums added, Dylan was able to convince his manager to honor the price he originally quoted me. While in the dealership, I was pressed for time, so Peter, the manager, was able to expedite our transaction and I was able to drive my car home quickly. All in all, I am very pleased with the Santa Fe Calligraphy and the experience at Liberty Hyundai.

I turned in my leased 2014 Sonata in exchange for a 2017 sonata. Same type automobile, but new car has no power drivers seat, seems to use more gas ( haven't had it long enough to determine) no heated seat or device to read outside temperature.

Overall satisfactory experience. As a first time lease I didn't feel pressured into anything we didn't want. Friendly staff. Bob was very helpful and guided us through the whole process. My only complain would be that the wait for the finance meeting was too long, we waitied roughly 45 minutes even though we had an appointment time set.

The only thing I can say is that it was a long process, sitting at the salesman desk for awhile with the backup salesman not coming back to us and letting us know that the paperwork will be reviewed and someone will be with you shortly, really didn't sit well it wasn't the first salesman it was the backup salesman

After having been at a different Hyundai dealership, as well as a Chevy dealership, earlier in the day, we knew exactly what we (my husband and I) were looking for when we arrived at Liberty Hyundai. While the other Hyundai dealership was knowledgeable and pleasant, they did not come close enough to meeting our needs for the sale to work out. At the Chevy dealership, our salesperson was rude and completely turned us off from the sale. We were pleasantly surprised at Liberty Hyundai to find a much more helpful staff, and our salesperson Bob, was great to work with. I would recommend to others looking to buy or lease a car.

Most of staffs I met in Liberty Hyundai during the purchase process were excellent. They were kind and giving the proper answers to my questions. I will definitely introduce Liberty Hyundai to my friends and did it. Other maker dealers and other Hyundai dealers near by the Liberty Hyundai are trying too aggressive and not honest for the quotation as usual as the general auto dealer reputations in the market. Comparing those, my experience with Liberty Hyundai was good though it still needs to improve and more careful in some important area. Charlie, Eddie, Kris. They are very friendly and very professional with strong product knowledges and customer oriented mind.

The Genesis on paper and by internet review seemed a perfect fit for the next car I purchased (leased). However, I was more than satisfied with the cars and dealerships I had previously dealt with (Infiniti, Audi, Cadillac) Having never taken Hyundai (Genesis) seriously, I stopped by Liberty Hyundai and was won over by the car. Joe C. did a great job explaining the options and features and suddenly the potential change to a Genesis became a realistic option. Although the forecast of pricing by Joe in my situation was initially extremely misleading (actually mistake ridden) --- I stuck with Joe and the dealership and all was cleared up resulting in my new Genesis lease. I am very happy with the car after two weeks. Eddie in finance was well organized, detail oriented and gave me the confidence that the dealership and the brand (Genesis) is looking to catch up to other luxury brands.

The finance department was a disaster. All of my paper work had the wrong year on it and they could not process anything with department of motor vehicles. When they realized the mistake they told me it took me too long to come back in and resign the paperwork. I guess they are the only people with full time jobs. Because of the hold up I wasn't able to get my vehicle until a month after I made my first payment. When I picked up the vehicle it was full of pollen and bird poop. They did not even wash the car. This was the worst experience I have ever had with the car. The sales department was amazing but the finance woman was a nightmare.

I never saw myself in a Hyundai. The image of the 80's and 90's didn't serve Hyundai well. But wanting to get a Toyota Avallon after looking at a Camry as well, I wanted to see what the sonata was about. I wanted fuel efficient and was willing to upgrade for some luxury feel without going and buying a stuffy luxury car (which I could afford). WAS AMAZED AT THE SONATA LIMITED. Cooling seats, heated steering whee, beautiful panoramic sun roof, lots of space, drives awesome for a 4cyl. I had to take a double take and the value for my money when you add the warranty. I really love the car. I'm with consumer reports that your new image and quality of the last few years is going to put other car dealers on notice. Hyundai is here to stay. My next car is the Genesis!!

I brought my daughter's used 2005 Hyundai in to have the gas tank inspected. They did a full inspection of the tank, filled it up and inspected it again just to be sure. I started using Liberty Hyundai for service on my 2006 Azera 4 years ago and was happy to find them. I was no longer happy with the dealer I was using and decided to travel further to use Liberty. All the service has been done to my satisfaction. Considering the above, I responded to an email I received quoting a lease price, with all the options and lease terms written LOUD and CLEAR. When I called to ask if I would receive that price, I was told "without a doubt". Upon arriving at the Dealership for an appointment with Lenny Connors, I was politely greeted as I came through the door and introduced to my Salesperson. The car I wanted was available immediately for the listed price, but I wanted to upgrade one level. Angelo Fabre was good, It was the Financing dept, that was horrible..left a deposit the night before with infomation to get the financing done for the next day, since the finance dept had closed while there was customers waiting , credit was good, I waited for four hours for them to finish with the paperwork when there was only two people waiting , every hour I asked whats the hold up, the response was the manager has the paperwork which was a lie..This dealership had no consideration for people's time. We were very lucky to get to work with Angelo Fabre, who I must say has the patience of a saint! My daughter & I run on different schedules & it was extremely hard to shop at the same time. We made numerous trips over the course of a month deciding on our purchase. I was never under any pressure to hurry & sign anything. Liberty Hyundai as always been great. I have bought and my family has bought from you too. I have to say that the dealership in Paramus NJ on Route 4 in 2008 was very pushy and very rude. When they went though their numbers with me I wanted to go over the numbers by myself and they said rudely that I did not have to do that it's right there. And the salesperson even said "You don't have to do that, what are you stupid." Which was EXTREMELY unprofessional. I know they want to make their quota by the end of the month but come on!

I being an existing customer I was told Refer a friend $100 bonus in cash / cashier check is what I was promised when I referred a friend to purchase car in this dealership. I referred a friend who bought a car and I was asked to fill a form with my mailing address to receive the $100 bonus in cash for my referral. Eddie was the in store sales person who sold the car. I did send few emails after weeks and months and first couple emails I was told that I will receive the bonus soon it is with the head office finance team for processing and never heard back from them after few phone calls was totally frustrated and decided no to follow-up with them. The dealership is good, but why cheat customer with fake offers like this, no ethics no professionalism and no words to describe them...

I walked in at 1pm on a Monday, last day of the month. There was only one other customer at the time. It took 3 hours to negotiate a price, my salesman was great, it was the Sales manager that took forever each time we renegotiated. At 4pm I finally went to see the Finance Manager. He said it would take another hour to finish the paper work/get the car ready. So, I went next door to a diner (I was starving) and was back before 5pm. I was not called into his office to sign the paper work until 6:15 (after I said I was leaving) and the paperwork was not done!!! He never even apologized, just said he had to take another customer while I was gone. I told him I was very upset having to wait so long. He never even offered to shake my hand when I finished signing all the papers. Now it is 17 days later and my trade in car has not been paid off nor has my new registration/license plates (the temporary ones expire in 3 days) come in. I am a returning customer and they were so unprofessional. I am really disappointed. This is why I would not recommend this dealership.

Our salesman Chris Werling and the manager Kurt Alton really listened to us and made sure we got just the car we wanted equipped just how we wanted it. Due to scheduling , Chris was on vacation when our car was ready for us so Kurt met with us and Charlie Bennett walked us through all the steps and set up our Bluetooth with our phones and made sure we were comfortable with our new car. I loved my 2013 Hyundia Elantra GT, which we had contracted for three years and soon found out that we were deceived and actually got a two year lease, after putting down a $4000 deposit. We were disappointed, shocked and amazed that the sales person at Rockland Hyundai had deceived us and they did nothing to help us. We were referred to Ray and he was amazing, he put us at ease and assured us that would be there for us. He is truly an asset to your company and his professionalism, understanding and caring for his clients, was deeply appreciated. We did not want to do business with Hyundai and was looking at other car companies, as we were appalled and disgusted at the way were treated. Everything went well for the most part. The salesperson was great. The sales manager, Kurt, was phenomenal, which is the only reason why I might go back and recommend to my friends. GREG, the guy in the back office/finance guy, is quite unpleasant. Long story short, he messed up the contract. I had it signed and had a copy. The next day he calls my house TWICE and my work cell phone on the weekend and had the audacity to tell me to come back in to redo the contract. HE messed up the contract and wanted to redo it, BUT if I had messed up the contract and I caught it a day later and wanted to redo the contract... NO WAY he would allow that to happen. I spent an additional TWO HOURS! Arguing with the guy until the managers and the owner came out to apologize and told me that he should've never called me and told me GREG would have to "eat it".Just watch out at the back office with GREG. Do the due diligence and check over EVERYTHING on the contract before you sign anything! He might try to scam you or make a mistake and harass you later on. The salesperson, managers and the owners are great people. If you need to speak to a manager, find KURT. He's a great guy to work with.

After having bad experiences with the two other Hyundai Service Centers in our area, I was apprehensive about trying another one. I hate when Service Centers try to up-sell you on services that are not recommended in your Owner Manual. Also, one of the dealer service centers over-filled my oil which is highly warned against in the Owner Manual and on the engine itself.The new Liberty Service center is 100% different than the other two. Very clean and neat with attention to detail. There was absolutely no up-selling attempt, excellent price for the service I wanted, and great prices on parts I bought in their equally new, spacious, and attentive parts department.The facility is on-par with many luxury dealers, For a Saturday it was not hectic and over-crowded like the other two. Very civilized, calming, and relaxed. The Service Writer made it a point to address my concerns about the past over-filled oil experience and the service was completed quickly.

started with a good experience with sales associate Steve Huzar, but it all went to crap at lease end when they learned I wouldn't be getting another Hyundai. I proudly brought in an Elantra in pristine condition. Greg, a lease manager coldly asked if I'd had it inspected. I told him that I'd called 3 times, but each time they said 'no problem, just bring it in. My mistake was that I believed them.A week later I received an $800 bill for damages that were not there when I turned it in, and not in the photos I'd taken that morning. I called Finance and Liberty, and both essentially said, 'tough. Prove it'.Usually big on surveys, they haven't sent me one now that they've tried to screw me.

I would definitely not recommend this dealership. Though the sales people are generally helpful and nice (Angelo) , overall the management leaves a lot to be desired (Kris). They are very pushy and manipulative. we agreed on a price and then I was told that I misunderstood the price even though I had the price in writing. Power steering failed in 2014 sonata hit curb because could not steer car properly and the service advisor basically said it's my fault because I could not steer a car . Thank God I wasn't on the Gsp and didn't have bodily injury. Service rep was not there to assist me at all. Seemed annoyed that I was even there ! Will not ever return to this dealership except to get my car which is a whole other story and will tell everyone I know to pass by dealership. Drive 40 miles is you have to go elsewhere . You will be better off

I have purchased multiple cars and have done all my service with this Liberty Hyundai service. I travel over 10 miles to get to them when there is another Hyundai dealer 2 miles from me. The service USED to be that good at Liberty. I really trusted them but no more. I made my appointment and discussed my needs. I specifically told Maryanne I did not need an oil change as I had done one locally last week. She told me I needed rear brakes and a cabin filter service. Plus an intermediate service (less the oil change). I was told the cost would be $523. That day I received coupons in the mail from Hyundai. I called Maryanne and she said to leave them in the car when I drop it off at night. I left the car at night with the coupons securely and obviously on the dashboard.The coupons should have reduced the price by $92. I asked to check some bulbs and was called in the afternoon that 8 various bulbs were needed for $132. I agreed. When I came to pick up the car here is what happened: 1) They did an oil change! 2) They charged me for 2 bulbs for 2 sockets that are shorted out. The bulbs were $15 each. If the sockets don't work, why do I need the bulbs??? 3) Not only did they not apply $92 in coupons they claim they don't have them. I wish I had remembered when I was there because I was smart enough to take a photo of the coupons before I left the car. I told the gentleman who assisted me (Steve?) that one of the coupons was for $12 for the cabin filter. He said there is no such thing as a $12 coupon for a cabin filter but he can give me $7.50 off. Guess what Steve? I have a photo of it! Steve did try to help and gave me some discounts which brought the total down from $766 to $702. 3) They tried to sell me a battery for $189 but I do not think mine is a problem. I had left the light on in the car overnight so it was dead. $189?WOW!. When I went to check the car to make sure all the bulbs works, Steve told me that the 2 front ones (burned out sockets) are only reflectors. I tried to sort out the bill and why so many bulbs and was totally confused so I paid and left. Going home I see that the clock is wrong. They didn't bother to re-set the clock- little sloppy things. I can't go to a dealer if I can't trust them. If they are going to charge so much, the service has to be excellent. I can do things cheaper locally. Liberty Hyundai lost a customer.

Taken my three week old Accent to Wayne Hyundai service center twice for the rear window defogger which had never worked since I picked up the car. Twice they told me it was working and twice I told them it wasn't. (Maybe Wayne Hyundai think people like to spend hours in service centers waiting to be told they're wrong about whether something works??!!) Took the car to Liberty Hyundai and within an hour they confirmed it wasn't working, isolated the problem (a loose connection) and fixed it. Works great. Maryanne is the absolute best and from now on, it's the only place I'll go to get my car service. (My mom has been going there for 8 years and was the one who told me to go--clearly a case of 'mother knows best'!!)

When I visited this dealer, Ryan helped and offered the best lease program I needed. But I was visiting other Hyundai dealers around, which basically offered a good deal but a monthly payment with downpayment was not satifying. Finally I found out this dealer's offer was the best one with Elentra with the exact package options. I checked other issues all and I was right. So I visited again, and this time Narotam was my salesperson. Ryan was on day off. Anyway, Narotam was kind and friendly and I did not feel any pressure or manipulation. When I visit any dealer if I feel manipulated I do not buy or lease even though the dealer may offer a best price. Everything was OK and he answered all the questions I had, the contract condition for 2 year lease was very good rather, the best! I am satisfied with the service and car itself, Elentra!

Just bought a new Veloster on Labor Day. It was probably my best experience ever to buy a car. Originally I was going to lease but because of the salesman Bob was very helpful in My decision to buy. There wasn't any pressure which made it easier. I will definitely recommend this dealership to others. Because it's a new car I haven't had any issues to have the car serviced but I'm sure that if they are anything like the showroom personnel that I won't have a problem when I go for service

My review is based primarily on my sales person, Bob Sealy. As an older person, I have had my share of buying cars, Bob made buying this car an extremely good experience. He help me purchase the exact car for my needs with no pressure at all. He was very thorough in reviewing the car and making the buying process an easy one. It was a great relief to find a sales person of his caliber. I have often walked out of dealerships because of the sale person. Bad experiences are what most buyers usually get. This, however, was a great one.

I was shopping for a car to replace my 2002 Saturn SC2 and I stopped in at Liberty Hyundai on a whim. It was almost closing time, but Chris took the time to talk with me and find out what I was looking for in a car. Rather than try to talk me into something I didn't really want, he told me he would call when he got something in I would like. I got the call and came down and test drove a few cars over the next few visits. I visited a lot of different dealerships, but Liberty really made me feel like there was no pressure and they really cared about finding me something I wanted. I have been bought 2 Hyundai cars from this dealership. Their pricing is decent. Leasing is very competitive and you can get a better deal from a private lease company. I did not lease my Elantra Touring and if I would want to purchase another car, I would start at Liberty. But what really brings me back is the better than excellent service at Liberty. Very honest and very friendly. Your car is ready when you need it. Yes, going to a dealer may cost a bit more, but you know that when Liberty Hyundai takes care of your car, it is done right. I bought tires at Sears. What a mistake. They installed the valves wrong and the tire was leaking air., When I went back to Sears, they wanted to charge me $70 for a sensor. At my recent 30K service at Liberty, they repaired it for free. No questions asked. WOW. The Liberty service has made me a Hyundai customer for life. Wayne and Maryanne are just great.

Love Maryanne in the service department! She understands your concerns and is extremely helpful. Liberty is very fortunate to have a woman in that department and she is most knowledgeable about Hyundai and all their products. Although I did not purchase my recent 2014 Sonata from Liberty because they did not have what I wanted, I hope in the future to be able to have a sales consultant that is as professional and helpful as she is.

We were in the market for a used Sonata and had stopped at Liberty Hyundai to browse. After a few minutes walking around the lot and checking window stickers Chris Werling came out, introduced himself, and said he'd be happy to answer any questions when we were ready. I told him we were in the market but at the moment browsing. He marked his weekly hours on his card, gave it to us, and requested we give him a call if we wished. No rapid fire sales traps such as "What are you looking for? What's your price range? What's your name? Give me your phone number. I have exactly what you want over here!" as we experienced at another local highway Hyundai dealer. No pressure. No trap tactics. No shadowing the prospect. Just a sincere wish to help when called upon. Two weeks later we were ready and when we walked into the showroom unannounced Chris was genuinely happy to see us. He let us show him what we were looking for and as we spoke with him about the prices came to the realization we could easily afford a NEW Sonata! That was on a Thursday evening; Friday we did the paperwork and Saturday morning our NEW Sonata was ready and waiting for pick-up. It was truly a pleasant and frankly painless experience. Not only do I recommend a NEW Sonata to everyone I highly recommend they obtain their's from Liberty Hyundai.

I had trouble locating the exact Hyundai Santa Fe I wanted to purchase in my area, and local dealers were unwilling to help us look outside of 100 miles to find us the specs we wanted. I found several New Jersey dealerships on the Hyundai website offering the combination we were looking for in colors we wanted (2014 Limited w/tech package). When i contacted Liberty, Eddie was responsive and straightforward about the price and the process for purchasing the vehicle. I received a competitive price from Liberty on my first ask, rather than a high dealership starting offer price and so we were able to quickly strike a deal. We settled on a day I would travel from DC to North Jersey to pick up the vehicle.During the two days in between, Eddie and Gregg did everything to minimize paperwork and waiting on the pick up day, so i could get back on the road and back home with my new car. Gregg found a rate for us with no gimmicks at more than a percent lower than the already attractive dealer incentive rate.On the day of pickup, Liberty offered to pick me up from the local train station. When I arrived, the car was shined and polished and waiting in front for Me. Rai showed me around all the features of the vehicle, explaining the nav. system, blue link, instrument cluster, controls and everything else about the car. Then Gregg brought me through all the paperwork and for the loan. While Gregg did show me all the possible add-ons and other offerings from the dealership, he presented these while still advocating for my best interests. I've been at signings where dealers have added on expenses where i didn't want them, or pushed me to purchase things i didn't want. Gregg did not do this. He told me what was available, showed me total price, financed price per month, and helped me through the process. Again, I really felt like he was helping me through this process, not pushing me, and I appreciate this.The team at Liberty had me in my new car and on my home in about an hour, and i couldn't be more pleased. I felt a high level of trust through the whole process.Thanks so much, love the car and the experience.

I stopped here to do a lease return of a Sonata and was referred to Ty. He asked if I bought it there and I said no. He immediately dismissed me and said I cant return it here. Hyundai had told me I could but hey its his call. What he didn't know was that the returned Sonata was 3 years old with less than 10K miles so he might have wanted it for resale. And he also didn't know that I wanted to purchase a 2015 loaded Genesis. All because he just didn't ask me. Sometimes Karma is really funny. I do go here for my Hyundai service and they are very helpful. Especially MaryAnne who really is an amazing employee. So go here for Service but not for Sales.

Have shopped here before and had different sales people with different experiences but my most recent was great. I found a car on cars.com and met with a salesman Chris. Unfortunately the car had been sold before I had arrived and Chris was apologetic in me having to come in for nothing. I told him what I was looking for and he walked me around the lot with nothing to what I wanted and he didn't try to push me into something I didn't want. They had a lot of other great options just not specifically what I wanted. He took my info down and said he would continue to look for me which I liked. Overall great experience wish I could have done a deal with him

Overall terrible people. Agree with previous post about false friendliness with terms such as "pal", "buddy", etc. We were promised to be able to return our car here though not originally leased at this dealership, made am appointment, arrived and were turned away. I was with my wife who was 8 months pregnant at time, and not only were we shouted at, treated like disabled children and given no basic human courtesy, the refused to take the car back even though we had the appointment and we had confirmed with corporate that they would have to take the car. They even went to far as to insinuate we were lying about making an appointment. We believe it was because the month before, the evaluated the car for the end of lease buy-out option and noticed a few things that would make the car difficult to sell from their lot. They claimed there was no room, but when we had made the appointment only hours before there was enough room? We dealt with reg floor salesman, manager and the head/owner of the dealership. All were nasty to my wife and myself Never using them again. Tl;dr Liberypty Hyundai salespeople and managers are xxxxxxxx. Never use this dealership, even if your first born sons life depended on it. They would screw you over anyway. My trip to this dealership was a waste of my time. The sales person was new and had limited knowledge of the product, the sales promotions, and the financing. When I entered the store, there was another women complaining about the fact that they did not discount the sticker price of the car! I should have spoke with her and I wouldn't have had wasted 2 and a half hours of my time! Fortunately, I found a better dealership that worked with me on the price, and the promotions and we were able to make and close the deal in under 2 hours. Your dealership was unable to even give me the bottom line of the price on the car. I had to try to back it out of the financed figures. I would never recommend this dealership and please take me off your email list.Thanks

I sent a internet inquiry and quickly received email confirmation from Eddie Saint Preux. Shorty after Gabriella reached me via phone and setup a appointment for later that day. This was very impressive to me. I arrived at the dealer and was treated by one smiling employee after another. I then met Gabriella and we discussed the car of my interest. A test drive was next and Gabriella was very informative and had all the answers. From here on it was negotiation time and my dealings with a sales manager that I am sorry I forgot their name, was as expected, polite and a good give and take. I am especially appreciative for Eddie the internet manager getting involved at the most crucial time and helping get the deal over the finish line. Delivery was conducted by Gabriella and was nothing short of terrific. Very impressed with Gabriella and EVERYONE I dealt with. All have great customer service skills. It was very nice to have a salesperson (Gabriella) approach us with a smile when we entered the dealership. Sometimes, when you venture into a showroom, there are a group of sales people who manage to not make eye contact! We've had this experience at several other dealerships...this is not the case at Liberty Hyundai.She asked us what we were interested in and reviewed several options for us...new or slightly used vehicles. She told us about what was available in the "used" category...including pricing, options and colors. Then she mentioned that she saw us looking at a red Elantra on the floor and did we want to take a better look at it. We did and then she offered us a test drive in a similar model. We liked the car and then she proceeded to review trade in and monthly payment options. We wound up with a very good deal...a nice tradein on our 2011 Sonata and the same monthly payments that we were currently making on that car. Best of all....the price she told us INCLUDED EVERYTHING! Some dealers talk about a certain payment and then as you are about to sign on the dotted line...they tell you about FOB costs, dealer "prep" charges, sales tax, etc., etc. If you want a great car with a fair price...go to Liberty Hyundai of Mahwah!!!Kathy Bergquist

Eddie responded immediately to my online request for info with a real deal - without tricks. When I got to the dealership, he was pleasant, direct and informative. While talking to him, another dealer called me to try to renegotiate on a completely different car I had wanted but couldn't afford. He started exposing lies he'd told me in the first place when he misquoted a car to me. Perhaps the contrast made it easy to see how great Eddie is. I also need to compliment the finance guy... Greg?... he kept things easy and comfortable without any hard sell, but again, informative. Great team!

I was very concerned with going to a car dealership due to the "bad rap" that these places have. Hyundai Liberty was my last resort after trying many different dealers that basically gave me the run around. A friend of mine mentioned that I should try it out and see if they are able to work with me and what I wanted. So I gave it a shot. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by very friendly employees always with a smile. I met Gabriella W. who was extremely friendly and answered all of my questions. I took my 2011 Hyundai Genesis in for service. I was greeted promptly by Mike at exactly when my appointment called for. He was very polite and positive. They shuttled me to my job and picked me up at my convenience when the car was ready. They took care of an issue I was having with my glove box under warranty, and checked my breaks and tires. They could have easily sold me new break pads. Instead Mike said they are fine for now. The overall experience was "Truly Outstanding".

If you want a low stress sales environment I would highly recommend Liberty Hyundai. They do not send a Manager over to attack you and force a deposit. This is a tactic used by the local competition. I highly recommend with working with Ryan in the future. Additionally, Gregg in finance made the process very easy. He was very efficient and honest during the purchasing process. He did not try to bury any additional costs into the final price like the local competition.

I give this dealership a great rating because they enabled me to get the car I wanted, at the price I could afford, on the terms I needed. I had an appointment with Ryan, but I was late and he was by then helping another customer. Rather than make me wait, as another dealership did, Ryan introduced me to another salesperson - Steve. Steve was professional, easy to work with, and friendly while respectful of my time. I truly felt that his goal was to meet my car buying needs. Kurt helped put together the final deal, aware that I had done the research that a smart consumer should do (check out prices/incentives/financing options, research the value of my trade-in, and find a reputable dealership). Ty made completing the paperwork clear and painless. While waiting for my car to be prepped, I visited the service department. I asked for a list of maintenance services and was given a detailed brochure which included the mileage intervals and prices, and a friendly explanation of hours, overnight drop off and loaner car procedures. There was a bit of a wait between the various steps (choosing the car, negotiating, finalizing paperwork, taking my car home), but to me the right deal is worth a little waiting. This dealership earned my business, and I highly recommend Liberty Hyundai of Mahwah, and especially my salesperson, Steve. I chose this dealership because of the honest input on Dealerrater, and am glad I did! I look forward to service that is as good as the sale.

Having only purchased pre-owned cars over the past 22 years, I was very apprehensive about purchasing a new car. Like most of us, I am aware of many "horror stories" of people having very stressful experiences when purchasing a new car, from ANY type of dealership, across the country. I began by narrowing down my search to three makes of SUV's and test drove them all. Once I settled on a Hyundai, I decide to research numerous dealerships within 25 miles of my home. I limited my search to that radius because I have been raised on the concept that "relationships are very important", and since my goal is to drive my new car for 8-10 years, I knew that I would likely be visiting the dealership, many times, over the coming years for service and any "issues" which may arise.With this mindset, I looked at dealerrater.com and got a few quotes from consuemerreports.com. From the moment I walked into the showroom of Liberty Hyundai in Mahwah, NJ, I had a good feeling. The feeling was not "salesy", rather it was relaxed and informative. The first day I walked in, with my son, I told the friendly sales consultant who approached us, Ryan, that we only had 14 minutes, as I had to get home to meet my daugther's bus. Ryan was very helpful in our few minutes together and we agreed to come back the next day at 10:30 am to go through the options. The next morning, I received a call from the dealership saying that Ryan was unable to meet with us and that "Eddie" would be our sales consultant. Candidly, I was very hesitant, because I gave my word to Ryan that I would meet HIM. I decide to keep my 10:30 am appointment. When I arrived, I was informed that Ryan had a family emergency and was unable to meet us, but that Eddie would take good care of us. (I subsequently learned from Ryan that, contrary to my fear that they would "cut him out" of the deal, just the opposite had occurred). Eddie jumped in and Ryan had been "taken care of" (ie received some commission from our sale). What this told me was that this was a dealership highly focused on servicing clients and that they would "do the right thing" for their employees. This awareness made me feel very good about dealing with a dealership whose goal is "total customer satisfaction" from every member of their team.Our internet salesperson, Eddie Saint-Preux, was an absolute pleasure to deal with. In fact, I was very happy to hear while "schmoozing" with Eddie, that he had come from a BMW dealership. Immediately I knew that customer service would be very important to Eddie, and by extension, the whole dealership. Eddie invested about 4 hours with my son and I to analyze the different options of cars, based upon our needs and wants. At no time did I feel pressured or "on the defensive" while dealing with Eddie. Of course, I came in with an idea of what we wanted to pay for our Hyundai Santa Fe, yet I must admit that the longer we spoke and the more I interacted with other members of the Liberty Hyundai staff, the more comfortable I became, as I realized that sales, finance and service truly work together as a "team". They all seem to have the same goal- an outstanding customer experience. Even the finance manager, Gregg Bedrosian, was easy to speak to and he presented our options in a very straightforward and candid manner. At no time did I get the sense that the staff was trying to sell me something with I did not want or need.In summary, I would highly recommend Liberty Hyundai for anyone looking for an informative, educated, consultive buying experience. I look forward to many positive interactions with them in the years to come.

The service I received in trying to buy a Hyundai Elantra GLS was the worst I have ever experienced. Since I am currently without a vehicle and renting a car for transportation, I need to buy a car. However, I will not return to Liberty Hyundai because of my experience. After waiting 20 minutes to talk to a representative, one representative who said he was helping other customers told me that he would obtain help from another representative and then broke his word--never asking fellow staff to talk with me. Then I had to wait another 15 minutes before another representative took my information so that I could test drive a car. That representative promptly left me to take care of 4 other customers. He left me sitting alone at his desk. He didn't even bother to ask a co-worker to assist me. After waiting 40 minutes, I walked. As I noted, I won't return. Hence, I suggest that management change their sales practices at this dealership.

I bought new Hyundai elantra touring from this dealership in 2011. I have been very happy with this car until a couple of months ago when the car seemed to shake when driving at highway speeds. I brought the car in for service, and although they could feel the shake they could find nothing wrong with the car. This went on for a few months going back and forth to the dealership, until I felt like the tires might blow out when driving, so I took the car to a tire dealer And asked about new tires. I had just had the car at Hyundai a week before and asked them for tire prices too. At the tire dealer, he brought me over to my car and said they cannot let me leave with the current tires on my car, as they then showed me the tire was totally split open on the inside, exposing the steel belts... On both back tires! How did the dealer not see this?? He had no answer but did say this did not happen over night... The tires have been like this for awhile. I could have been killed if the tire shredded at highway speed. When I called Hyundai to tell them, the woman in the service department hung up on me, when I called back the manager offered me a free oil change. Really! I could have been killed... When it comes to auto service, I have to trust what you say you did, you did. In this case you obviously didn't. I have paper work that says you did, but tires that say you didn't. I have spent thousands of dollars on preventive maintenance at this dealership. And I cannot trust that the service was performed. A person is as good as there word, their words were lies.. Thank god I decided to have another mechanic look at this car before I had a serious accident I can NEVER trust them again.

Carlos was one of the nicest sales agents I have ever worked with. Extremely honest, very laid back, no pressure, and very down-to-earth. He worked out some awesome numbers for me and it was very hard for me to turn down, but at the time, it just wasn't the right car for me. I would recommend Carlos if anyone were to stop by at Liberty Hyundai, I'm sure if whatever Hyundai is right for you, you would definitely want to buy it from him.

Just bought my third Hyundai - 2nd from Liberty. My 8th car buying experience and Liberty makes it so easy. I definitely trust this dealership. Those two words together are unusual - trust and a car dealership. Both times, I was clear in that I was not going to pay a lot for the car and they needed to come forward with their best price. They shared the dealer invoice and I am confident they gave me really good deals both times. Eddie Saint-Preux was my sales person this time and I highly recommend him. We just purchased a 2013 Sonata at the end of December. We purchased the Sonata from Liberty Hyundai in Mahwah, NJ, and our salesman was Chris Werling. From the minute we walked into the dealership until we purchased the car and took it home it was A++++ customer service. There was no pressure put on us to purchase a car. Chris helped us decide on which model to purchase, explained all of the items that were available with the car, and gave us a very good price. The day we took the car home Chris went over how to use all the features of my beautiful Sonata, and even programed my radio in the system. I have received a few e-mails from Chris since we purchased the Sonata making sure that everything was okay, and if we had any questions on the car to please phone or visit him.The financial manager guided us on the different rebates we could receive with the different options.He explained the different extended warranties on our Sonata we could purchase, but there was no pressure put on us. We did take out two of the warranties, because it was to our benefit to do so.We have always been a Ford/Mercury family, since my dad worked for Ford for many years.This was the first car we purchased that was not a Ford. The experience and customer service was so much better than any we had experienced through the years. Being a victim of Super Storm Sandy and having lost 3 of the familys cars we were devistated to have not only the burden of home repairs but the added chor of replacing our lost cars. My first contact with Liberty Hyundai was thur the internet. Within minutes of my first request i was contacted by Mr Eddie St. Preux. Upon arrival at the dealership I was pleased to find a Smile from every one who worked there. Not only from my salesman buy everyone there seemed so happy, friendly, and helpfull. They had just the right car i was looking for and was so impressed that we ended up buying 2 cars that day. Gregg in finance made the deals go so easy and painlessly that we even opted for the added wheel coverage for both cars.Within 2 1/2 hours we drove home with 2 new cars and all on a Saturday morning.Its not often that I get to say something positve about a car buying experience However those guys at Liberty Hyundai are on top of the game. We scheduled an appointment to test drive a certified pre-owned Sonata 2011 advertised at www.cars.com. Bob Zimmer left a good first impression as a polite and professional sales agent. We liked the car but the road noise was more pronounced than expected and we wanted to drive a few other cars before we make our mind. A week later we called Liberty Hyundai to make sure the car was still available and scheduled a second appointment with Bob Zimmer. We drove the car and decided to purchase it. About 15 minutes after signing a document indicating the conditions of the sale (price, taxes, and fees) Bob came back with a statement "I'm sorry, this car is sold." We left the dealership very disappointed not because we didn't buy this particular vehicle but because we felt cheated.Bob Zimmer should have known if the car was indeed sold and not waste 3 hours of our time for the round trip to the dealership, test drive, and waiting for him to consult with his colleagues after signing the initial paperwork.Even worse, the particular car we wanted to purchase is still advertised for sale (4 days after claimed sold) and I feel Liberty Hundai is using a trivial bait-and-switch trick - very unprofessional. Please, think twice before you decide to spend your valuable time with this car dealer.

On a late Saturday afternoon Mike arranged for his associate to replace my failed battery during the Sandy storm outage when I was staying at a local hotel. Both individuals went out of their way and their helpfulness and courteous manner removed a lot of pressure at a difficult time especially as I faced long stop/start delays in a gas station line.

In making a deal with them, they went back on their own evaluation of my second trade and killed the deal- after the insurence was changed over and plates taken off of the 1st trade. They would not listen to reason and were quite threatening. unless you have no other choice I would go anywhere else but here.

I cant say enough about the service you guys provided me. The Hyundai support line however, leaves a lot to be desired.I stopped to get gas, then my car failed to start. I called the Hyundai Road Service line and was told a tow truck would be there in an hour. 90 minutes later, still no tow truck so I called them back. Said I would need to wait another hour.I called your dealership and talked to Maryann. She figured out the issue and told me how to get the car started. I was only 1000 feet from your location and she promised me if I got the car there, I would be on the road in 15 minutes.I was out in about 20 minutes. I cant thank her and your team enough.Everything was above what I could have expected.Please send a special thanks to Maryann and your Technician.Doug and Cathy

The entire experience at this dealership has been exemplary. The service department just completed my first service. They were able to accomadate my schedule. I was in and out in 30 minutes. They explained what needed to be done on this visit as well as what could be expected on the next service. I've never had a dealership do that.Buying a car can sometimes be a bit intimidating. This was simple and painless. I highly recommend the team at Liberty.

Went to Liberty Hyundai because Paramus Hyundai was unable to take care of my problem with my Radio which was under Warrentee. Maryann without an appointment was able to take care of me and service my Radio at no charge to myself. Receive follow-up calls to see if I was satisfied with my service. Told me that they were able to fixed the problem, but ordered a replacement radio because they didn't know if the fix were be permanent. Maryann was extremely helpfull and knowledge of my problem... Would recommend her and Liberty Hyundai to everyone.

The sales person was very knowledgeable and helpful and the business specialist was careful to help us understand the variables between leasing and buying. The professionalism displayed by the staff ensured that we were comfortable with our final decision; not only on the car purchased, but the dealership. I used Bank of America's on-line car search service while shopping for my new Hyundai Tucson. I visited Liberty Hyundai and was assisted by Eddie Saint-Preux, Internet Sales Manager for the dealership. He was a true gentleman throughout the entire process, with none of the "high pressure" and deceptive sales tactics often associated with buying a car. We agreed on a car model and options, again with no pressure or sudden add-on charges, other than the dealer prep fee which Mr. Saint-Preux had told me about before I came in. When delivery of the car was delayed, Mr. Saint-Preux kept in touch with me by phone and e-mail to keep my apprised of the status. When it arrived, he was very courteous in going over all of the features very patiently to ensure our satisfaction with our new purchase. Based on this experience, I would recommend Mr. Saint-Preux and Liberty Hyundai and will return there again when I am in the market for another Hyundai for my family.

I have bought all my cars (3) from Liberty Hyundai, I kept coming back and everytime the experience was stress free and pleasant, from the owner Mike to Chris the finance person, to Kirk the salesman, and finally service. I service all my cars there and have never had a bad experience. They have always been extremely honest and sometimes it doesn't feel good to have to pay, but cars are worth money especially to keep. I am planning on buying another vehicle soon and Liberty has become my family of cars. I would recommend servicing your cars with them and buying them there. I have been to many dealerships before Liberty and I have never encountered a dealership where I can be sure I am getting a fair deal. When I have service they always call to approve the charges and get confirmation. Danny the Mechanic is fantastic, he has been servicing my cars for over 6 years. Liberty Hyundai was not the first Hyundai dealership my wife and I visited. The first dealership's salesman was uninformed as to the features on the car (I got a 2012 Hyundai Veloster from Liberty Hyundai and love it) and the availability of his inventory. I was initially sold a car that was unavailable and then brought back in 4 days later to once again see a car that was unavailable, needless to say I am very pleased that the bad experience at one Hyundai dealership was easily erased by the friendly and professional experience at Liberty Hyundai. My salesman Chris Werling, at Liberty Hyundai was informative, friendly, and made made the experience quick and easy. I am very pleased with my purchase of the new "2012 Veloster", I have been getting comments everywhere I go about how "cool" it looks and people are amazed as to the quality and style of the car for it amazingly low price, keep up the good work. Mr. Peter AllenMy expectations of my next experience with Hyundai will have to be at leasst at the level of my experience at Liberty. It is obvious to me now that some of the dealerships bearing the name Hyundai are not of the same quality as Liberty. I understand that quality and customer satisfation are number 1 and 2 in the Hyundai rule book and it is with that in mind that will make me a future Hyundai owner as well. I am sure that the experience I had with the other dealership in Paramus will eventually be noticed in either sales numbers or surveys such as this and corrected. Once again Thank you Liberty Hyundai if not for you I'd probably be driving a Toyota or Honda...LOL

I've used Liberty Hyundai in Ramsey, NJ for warranty work in the past and they were great - UNTIL NOW. With 5,000 left on my warranty, I took it in for what I thought was a transmission problem. Naturally nothing was wrong that was under warranty, but they charged me $250 for a transmission flush. They also did the multi-point check on my car - which included a brake check. They measured the brakes and gave me an accurate reading in millimeters of how much was left. Immediately after getting the car back, it started making a weird "tuk tuk tuk" noise in the front of the car (tires? axle?) - rather weak at first. A week later after it got worse and worse, we found that a lug nut was missing and 2 of the remaining 4 were almost off (we could turn them by hand). We spoke to other mechanics who said brake checks were done by taking the tires off. So we called Liberty Hyundai Service back and Joe proceeded to be rude to my boyfriend. He wanted to know "where are you going with this" when my boyfriend asked if they took the tires off to check. They claimed they didn't and that "you can come down here and I'll show you". He then refused to give us a lug nut (that's all we wanted!) and said we have to wait to talk to a Manager on Monday (its Saturday AM). He was EXTREMELY rude to my boyfriend and refused to help. We then called a couple other local Hyundai Dealer Service Departments who said they DO in fact, take the tires off. Obviously Joe at Liberty Hyundai either lied to us or didn't know how to handle the situation. Since my beloved 2004 Santa Fe is almost out of warranty, I was considering getting a new Hyundai. If I DO end up getting a new Hyundai (not from Liberty), I will most definitely NOT be going back to Liberty Hyundai in Ramsey, NJ to have it serviced. Pathetic service.

Saw a used vehicle online, and filled out the contact form. Was contacted within an hour. The salesman, Alan Fong, was very flexible with setting up a time to meet to see the minivan. When I arrived, he made sure I got 1 on 1 attention. Negotiating a price was a simple process, and the repairs I had them make were done quickly. I'd buy another car from them anytime.

The service department does not seem to know what they are doing. They are deceptive and rude when there is a service problem. I like the Hyundai that I own but I will not be buying another because of the way this dealer has treated me. I was without a car for two weeks because of a recall on there defective control arms. My car was not returned they way I brought it in. And The service dept tried to put the responsibility on a new clutch from march of 05.
