I purchased a car from a different dealership in September 2015, and after feeling like it wasn't quite right for me I decided to visit Luther Westside VW to trade in a couple weeks ago. I can't believe what a different experience this was! All of the staff were super friendly and made the car-buying process a breeze. Helton, who helped me with my 2013 Passat, was extremely knowledgeable on the vehicle and was able to get me an awesome deal for my trade. I would highly recommend!

Recently purchased and Audi A5 from Helton at Luther Westside pre-owned. I experienced an issue with the car a few weeks after and reached out to Helton for guidance. He and the Luther Team stepped up and took care of the issue immediately. I could not say enough how happy I am with Luther Westside Pre-owned. Had a great experience with Bobby Scala. Bobby had actually tried to get us into a Pre-Owned vehicle back in the winter, but the car sold before the wife and I could get to the dealership to look at it. When the other car he had didn't suit my needs, he wasn't pushy in the least. Anyway, I pulled into Luther Westside knowing the car I wanted to look at, and Bobby happened to be standing in the foyer. He recognized me, and though we had to exchange names again, it was nice to have a familiar face to work with. I test drove a Certified Pre-Owned 2015 VW Golf. While we were out on the road I said to Bobby, "So, is there a pitch you wanna give me? Any features you wanna highlight?" And he said, "Nope, car sells itself." The build quality is obvious, the TSI engine is a hybrid of peppiness and efficiency, and it's outselling Japanese cars IN JAPAN, he said. And he was right. Which is why I bought the car that very evening. The only problem I with the process at all was it took us a little longer to get into the Finance office than I was expecting, which they apologized for profusely. The financing deal was great, and they're even making our first payment on the car. I guess there's a reason these guys are one of the country's top VW dealers. Overall a great experience.

Brian Sommer was great at Westside VW. We originally came in to look at a different car and it sold but he found us exactly what we wanted the next day. I had my 3 kids with (all 3 and under) and it was about as smooth as possible for getting us set with our new wheels. This was my first time buying a car from a dealer and it was a good experience. Jim was extremely knoledgable. I bought a used Tiguan and there was no question he could not answer about it. I will say the process was fairly long, but it is a very busy place especially on a Saturday. I am pleased with the vehicle I bought and the experience. One thing that is confusing to me is that no one has followed up with me. I was asked to send pay stubs and I never got a response email saying they received them. I also haven't heard from them that my license plates are in which they said they would be contacting me with. Not a big deal but this would definitely bring the customer service over the top!

I flew in from Michigan to buy a 2015 TT from their inventory. Brendan was knowledgable and pleasant during the buying process, and was able to provide me with all the information I needed to send to them before my visit. Once there it was about 90 minutes and I was on my way back home. A very positive experience, and I would recommend them to anyone interested in buying a car long distance. This is the second time I bought a car from out of state, and by far the more positive experience.

I worked with Maura Broucek at Westside VW, and I had a wonderful experience. I have be in the market for a new vehicle, actively looking for about a year now. Maura knew I had explored several options at VW in the past, and when I came in for a consultation she expanded on my interests, recommended a Passat Sport that had just came in, and was able to match me with the perfect vehicle at a comfortable price. I am a very analytical person, and am in the field of Sales as a profession, so working with dealers can be challenging. Maura was a true outlier to the typical experience, and I couldn't have been happier with how she managed the process from initial meeting to final paperwork.

I dropped my vehicle at the scheduled time (10:30) and only needed an oil change. I was a "waiter" and was told about an hour and that someone would contact me. No one did so at 11:40, I asked and was told the paperwork was being finalized (completed at 11:54). Again no one contacted me and it was over 1.5 hours so I asked again. The paperwork was found ready to go on one of the desks. An hour and 50 minutes later I left. I've only been there one other time and left the vehicle so it was fine. But to sit around for almost two hours is uncalled for. I understand this is not an express service but an hour 50 minutes seems awful long to wait for something so simple.

I am a 20 year old college student who has never purchased a vehicle from a dealership before. Needless to say, my experience at Luther Volkswagen has been so far. I purchased a VW CC last Wednesday, so I am writing this review early on in the car owning experience, but I can say that the process of finding and purchasing the vehicle was flawless. Maura, my sales rep., was considerate and friendly, answering all of my questions and concerns. I am very happy with the vehicle I purchased, with the car having low mileage in mint condition. I was satisfied with the price of the vehicle as well. I will definitely look to Luther Auto in the future when shopping for cars!

I financed a 2012 VW Tiguan S 6 speed manual from Luther this weekend. The 6 speed manual is a very rare car and they had the only one I could find with 300 miles of Madison, WI and I got a GREAT deal on it. The buying process was very easy and my salesman Helton was extremely helpful, courteous, and answered all my emails and inquiries in a very timely manner. I was pre approved before I drove up from Madison and the process couldn't have gone smoother. I showed up needing nothing more than the down payment that we agreed upon. I showed up, test drove the truck, loved it, filled out some paper work and I was on my way in about an hour total of being at the dealership with everything I needed. I experienced top notch customer service, selection, and value at the Luther West location.

The best experience I have had with purchasing a car in my 51 years of buying. Purchase price for my car right on to what they quoted. From time I arrived there to purchase a car until purchase was complete and car financed a little over a hour. Told them had to get back on the road to avoid rush hour traffic and time it took them to finalize ever thing was beyond my expectations. I honestly can't tell you much about what the dealership looks like because I was focused on purchasing a used vehicle. I was hoping to find the car I found at the price I could afford. Everyone was helpful from opening the front door to asking if I needed water or coffee. Having just found my way into the dealership thru much road construction, that thoughtfulness was appreciated. I never spent as much for a car before, not even a new one, yet I felt I found just what I wanted for a fair price. (Ford Flex's apparently hold their value!) My experience was such that I would recommend Luther VW, but I would also give careful instructions as to how to reach the dealership. (Minnesota's construction season begins right after the snow melts and, I must say, Hwy. 100 is a MESS!) But I was not deterred by that, even though my second test drive became longer than usual. Don't let the traffic pattern keep you from visiting Luther's Westside VW. The salesperson I met with several times more than made up for the highway problems. Helton is competent and honest. He is willing to go the second mile for people. He is reachable (even, regrettably, on his day off). He made the trek across the Twin Cities to that nightmare of Hwy. 100 worth the effort!

Originally I went to the dealership because my boyfriend was looking for a car, at the time I absolutely hated my car that I had just bought a few months prior (Chevrolet Malibu), I saw the Tiguans and so we looked at them and the sales lady he was working with (Gervona Lynn) let us test drive any one that we wanted. We test drove 6 Tiguans before I decided which trim level I wanted. We brought my car to the dealer for them to get a trade-in value, we were both surprised that we didn't get low-balled especially when I had just purchased the car. Super nice and no pressure customer service. I will purchase all of my next vehicles from this dealer. I definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a new or used car. Fairy priced! My sales lady, Gervona was amazing during the whole experience!

We walked through the door at 1:45 asking for a test drive of a Tiguan we'd seen online and walked out the door with it at 4. No one tried to pressure us into driving more or buying new instead of used. Rich was very helpful and made sure we had our phones connected and knew how to use everything before we left. It was also nice that we only dealt with one salesman and one finance person, at some places there are so many hand-offs.

I had very specific requirements: VW Sportwagen with manual transmission, gasoline engine, under 30K miles. Brian found one for me, pointed out all the good and bad, and made the buying process seamless. Best of all, he KNEW VWs. We spoke engines, models (going back to the great 16-valve 2-liters in old 1990-1992 GLIs and GTIs. It was obvious he wasn't bluffing or "mirroring" a customer. He knows cars, and in particular, VWs.

Westside VW was a very good dealership to work with. To begin with, there was no push or shove into buying a car and it was actually fun to work with the salesman we had who knew his cars and what to expect. The salesman went thru everything we needed to know about the service agreement and waranty coverage because we wanted to make sure being that it was a 2 year old car. The only downside is that like all car buying with any dealership, it takes time to fill out the paperwork. In the end, we were very happy with the car we purchased and the salesman who helped us. VW has a good product these days and that is what interested us the most but it's very important to have a dealership to work with that knows how to treat customers.

I hadn't bought a car in years and was a little anxious. I had let the salesman, Brian Sommer, know I was coming in Friday to purchase the Tiguan I had test driven. Not only did he have car detailed and gassed up, he also made sure it had all its keys and manual. I showed up and he already has my paperwork started. I traded in a car and the value was very fair and on the money for what Kelley Blue book had it at. The business manager, Angela, was very friendly, professional and didn't try to sell me something I didn't want or need. Brian spent a good twenty minutes completely walking me through the car and how everything worked. He even set up my Bluetooth for me! I will be recommending Westside VW and Brian to all my family and friends. It was such a wonderful experience!

Came in for a safety inspection of my VW Jetta 2013 due to a recall involving trailing arms. My experience was seamless. I was due for my 20,000 service check as well and was told it would take about 2 to 21/2 hours. They do offer one way shuttle service over a 5 mile radius but I decline as I came prepared to binge on Netflix. To my surprise my car was done in an hour. I was notified of everything they did and my car checked out perfectly. I was also informed that I had another courtesy inspection and oil change that would be expiring at the end of the year and was advised when to come in for that. They washed my car for me and told me I can come in at anytime for complimentary car washes. This made my day. I felt so well taken care of and most importantly I felt they were honest and had my best interests. I say this because I have been taken for a ride before with car shops and I've become weary. Thank you Luther VW for making this a stress free experience. I will be back.

I had been looking for a Jetta TDI when I found the one at Luther Westside VW. I flew from Chicago to Minneapolis to pick up the car. I worked with Helton who was extremely pleasant to work with and was not at all stereotypical of someone selling used cars. He had the car ready upon my arrival and the document processing was relatively quick. There was an offer for an extended warantee but no pressue to buy this or anything else which I appreciated.

I brought my car in because there was a noise that sounded like a drivetrain issue. A humming sound I thought might be a bearing or something. After a lengthy inspection I was told everything was fine except for the tires. They told me that after 35,000 miles the tires needed to be replaced. They told me that there's an alignment problem and the tires are wearing unevenly which is reason for the noise. I asked if the alignment was checked and they said no. The alignment check is not covered under warranty. I asked them if they rotated the tires to see if that made a difference and they didn't do that either. So I had them rotate the tires and verify tire pressure and return the vehicle. The noise is better now but not fixed. It might even be the tires and alignment but we'll never know until I pay them $50 for an alignment check. Also, they stuck me with $30 charge just for rotating the tires. In the end, they didn't do the simplest steps to verify the problem because they won't get paid by warranty coverage. They did the minimum and it wasn't enough to earn my future business. Clearly a problem with the dealership and the warranty. I'll take my car somewhere else to get better service and better price. $30 to rotate tires? 5 minutes to do that.

This is the first time I have had my 2012 Jetta serviced since I purchased it - what a great experience. It started well with a call to schedule the appointment - professional and knowledgeable. I got "lost" trying to find the service center so called in to see if someone could give directions and apologize for running late - once again, a very professional and helpful person assisted me. Waiting at the service center was pleasurable - good coffee, awesome snacks and a clean and comfortable place to wait for my vehicle to be serviced. I would highly recommend and am sorry I won't be able to use them in the future as I have moved to South Dakota and the drive would be a bit much for an oil change.

Jim Southwell is the sales guy to see. I was selling my 3 Series 2 door sports car BMW that wasn't gonna fit my recent marriage. Needed a 4 door practical fun car. Jim helped me try out a fully loaded CPO GTI he had an I almost immediately fell in love. We spent a lot of the time talking cars, and exchanged hobbies etc. All around good guy. When my wife showed up later to see it, he then washed her car for her as well! Small thing, but really nice. I have visited multiple times, one for service, another to test drive and once just to say hi and show him the current upgrades I had done. I plan to buy my next car from him. Also, my recent service appointment was nice as well. No complaints.

I contracted Vince via the cars.com web site. I got a reply in the morning. I sent in pics of my trade and the vin off my trade. The response was really fast. I contacted 5 other dealers in the same day. Very few responded as fast. These guys were fast and the cost was perfect. I had to order a replacement key. All staff knew their part in the process and directed me accordingly. The process was executed very quickly and effeciently. On the other hand, when BMW of Bloomington was faced with the same situation, they had failed miserably in the whole process. Honestly BMW was the most incompetent group I had ever dealt with in the car industry in Minnesota.

We purchased a new 2015 Passat from West Side and had a great experience. Our sales person (David) was very helpful and instead of pushing us towards any particular model or package he really gave us the information we needed and gave us all the time we needed to figure out what we wanted. We scheduled a test drive on a weekend and they had the cars warmed up and waiting for us. The paperwork during the VW financing went the easiest I've experienced. They did not try to push extra warranty coverage or options on us which happened at a different dealership in the past. Great experience.

My most recent visit (2/17/15) left me wondering - once again - why do I ever bother to take my Passat to this dealership. I've been going to Luther on and off for 7 years and this will be the last time. Simply put, the overall culture of this dealership has always been one of that we 'owe' them the business and they are doing us a favor. This last time, I needed a bulb replacement for a break light. I had my two small children with me on their day off from school (and my day off from work) - and so I had asked to wait and they said it would be about an hour. At 2hrs 45 minutes I finally heard an announcement and when I approached the counter they woman said "oh, I'm glad we finally found you" ... as if they had been paging me for ages. I had not left the showroom for one minute - not even to the bathroom - so please don't suggest otherwise. Then that woman was too busy, so she handed me off to another woman who could do nothing but ask for my money. No "how was your experience', no 'was everything to your satisfaction' ... in fact, they were also supposed to check a code on a check engine light so when I asked what the result was her only response was "oh, no one spoke with you?". So she then actually took the time to look at the paperwork and saw that my 'representative' was no longer in the building and went and got another service rep. Then HE came out, look at the paperwork and said; "so, what have they told you about the engine light?". Good lord, is this a well choreographed joke? And after all this - they charged me $50 for a lightbulb replacement. My wife had similar work done on her Hyundai last month at a Jiffy Lube for $16. So once again, I ask myself - why did I ever bother going here in the first place? I only blame myself ...

We worked with David Hartman and he was extremely professional, knowledgable, and efficient. He promptly communicated via email (my preferred mode of communication) and managed to secure the exact car we were looking for even though there was only one in the 5 state area. I can't say enough about the service I received at West End on my Passat TDI. My experience showed me that they are committed to customer service excellence. I had a major repair that was needed and they went above and beyond to take care of the repair and save me money in the process. They did a good job of keeping me informed of what was taking place, what to expect, and followed through at each step of the way. Just had my first service. It was easy to make an online appointment. The time was when I wanted and at a convenient time. The service was performed promptly while I waited. The waiting area was the largest, cleanest, and most equipped of any I have seen at a dealership. When the car was ready, the person who did the work brought the paper work to me, introduced himself, discussed what had been done and answered questions. I was extremely happy with the service I received.

We purchased a used non-VW SUV/Crossover from Luther Westside a little over a week ago. Our buying experience was straightforward with honest, fair information and very little pressure. We got a great car for a good price. A couple days after our purchase, we started hearing some loud noise from the wheel system. Since we had a limited 30-day warranty, I brought the car in Monday morning. They got me in immediately, determined it was a tie-rod and had me set up for a repair appointment 2 days later after the ordered part came in within 30 minutes. When I dropped the car off for repair, they had a lovely rental car waiting for me, which made the repair about as painless as possible. We were impressed they stood by their warranty and made sure we were taken care of just as well as if we had purchased a brand new VW from them. I would definitely recommend and will consider looking here for future vehicle purchases.

For health reasons, I needed to switch out of a manual transmission into an automatic. That was the only reason for trading my 2014 Mazda3 which I loved. David Hartman, my sales person, quickly grasped the situation, understood that i was not wild about needing to trade and that I just wanted to find the right car quickly. In a very low-key way, he guided me to the vehicle that would clearly work the best for me and, after a very short and respectful period of dickering over the price, he and I reached agreement. He asked for 90 minutes to prep the car so I went home to wait. Came back, had David orient me to the vehicle, signed a few pieces of paper and i was on my way. Not including the 90 minute prep time while I relaxed at home, the entire process took about one hour. Hence the title of my review. I have bought at Westside before and it has always been a good experience. David made this experience extra nice with his understanding that this was a car that I needed to get and that I did not want to spend much time finding it. He listened and he made it happen!

This is a great dealer. Great experience. Love the car. I visited 4 other dealers before finding this dealership on recommendation from a co-worker. Glad I found it as I got a fair deal on my trade-in and a great vehicle with a super warranty. First time in a no-haggle environment, kind of a strange experience, but takes a lot of the pressure out of buying a car. I feel the price was decent for what I received. Would recommend this shop to anyone. Prompt email returns from Jim Southwell, what a great employee. I would probably give this guy a raise ;) Also an honorable mention to Tom Daly. This is a great, honest, fair guy here. He is their used car manager and know his stuff. I regrettably did not let them have the left overs of my birthday cake as I already had promised this to some co-workers. Maybe next year fellas! My wife and I purchased an Audi A4 from Luther Westside VW. We worked with Helton Cerqueira and had a wonderful experience. We had some minor issues taken care of on the car before we took possession. He personally drove the car to the Audi dealership and walked our car through the process. This required him to spend two hours at the Audi dealership on his day off to make make sure the car arrived when we needed it. We will call Helton again when we need to purchase another car.

They were extremely helpful and in my corner when it came to pricing for the repair I brought my car in for.. They also went out of their way to fix things that I didn't even bring the car in for. I had issues with opening my drivers side door, but never told them about it. They never mentioned it but when I got my car back the drivers door opened smoothly. They went out of their way to fix things, without charging me or mentioning it.

I wavered on whether to keep my beloved VW Golf or upgrade to a Tiguan. Brad Davidson was patient, helpful, went over all the possible facts and figures (and more than once), and was never pushy. I test drove on a terrible Minnesota weather day, and Brad agreed to accompany us since I'm not familiar with the back roads in the area. Brad took us on a detour to show us where the restaurant we planned to eat at was, took us along a scenic route through the snow (which was beautiful), and we all joked that if he could just get us movie tickets - it would be a complete evening. When I came back to purchase the vehicle, while we waited for the office, Brad talked us through future cars that VW will release, told us about his history with VW/his personal experience driving Volkswagens, and more about the factories and dealerships in Germany. The car I wanted wasn't at the dealership, but Brad found it immediately and kept be up to date by texting me (my preference of communication). When I came back to pick it up he had it ready, washed, and heated for me. Incredible service...

While I appreciate the attempt to reduce buying anxiety by only having a set price, I can't help but wonder if I couldn't have gotten a better deal elsewhere with similarly little anxiety. It seems many dealerships these days are switching to that model and I can't tell yet if that's a good or bad thing. This, to me, is the only thing that prevents them from getting 5 stars, because I was definitely treated well, everyone there was very friendly, and I never felt pressured. Can't say the same for some of the other dealerships of this type, who in some cases harassed me immediately over the phone. Even as a younger buyer, which I imagine is where some of the hostility comes from, Luther Westside treated me far better than almost all the other dealerships I went to. So if you want to get treated right and have fantastic service, and you don't mind paying maybe an extra $1000 for that experience, this is definitely the place for you.

At our first meeting, Chris had already searched through the inventory of cars and selected several cars that would meet my requirements for price, model and equipment. Worked with Vince to quickly find a range of cars that fit my goals for price, model, and color. Went and test drove a 2012 CC and loved it. It was a really busy day (Saturday) but I was in and out with a nice used car in about 4 hours. Vince never pressured me into buying, or tried to upsell me. They do give you the hard sell on extended warranties and such once you're in the finance phase of the deal, but I was able to negotiate a significantly lower price on a lengthy parts and service warranty which kept me under my target price for the vehicle. The service garage looked clean and welcoming, and I don't have any concerns about bringing my new vehicle back in for service in the future. Overall, a great experience. Thanks Vince and team!

I was shopping for a used car for my 16 year old daughter. After visiting several dealers, we visited Luther Westside and worked with Vince McDonald. Vince was outstanding to work with during the purchase process. Vince was helpful and professional. He didn't attempt to "sell" us, but instead worked with us to find a vehicle that met our requirements. We found a used Mazda 3 that fit our needs. After a week or two, the car began lurching forward when changing gears. The car was still under the 30 day/1000 mile warranty, I took it back to Vince at Luther. They took the car in and worked it until they found the issue, eventually sending it out to a transmission shop to have it professionally repaired. I was impressed by the way Luther stood by their warranty and had the car repaired without blinking an eye. They stood by their product. When I picked up the car after the repair, they filled the gas tank and apologized for the inconvenience. I was impressed with their professionalism and integrity. When I need my next car, I'll definitely pay Vince a visit.

I had numerous concerns throughout the buying process with being quoted one number one day and a different number the next. I even dealt with new fees being added when I arrived to pick up the car that were never discussed or disclosed to me previously. I still purchased the car because we negotiated a fair price and they removed the "new fees" but I think my buying experience was typical of the old car salesmen attitude, meaning they tried to get away with as much as they could until they got caught. Not a wonderful experience, there MUST be a better way to sell cars!

This is my first time buying from Luther Westside. The sales personnel made it a totally positive experience. With the complications that buying a new car can present in this day and age, Luther Westside found a way to make the entire process easy, swift and painless. With today's new cars there is a definitive learning curve, the sales person's teaching skills on how to operate my new VW Jetta made my use of this new vehicle much easier than I had anticipated. I still need to read the manual, but at least now I understand the instructions much better than I would have had I begun to operate the vehicle cold turkey. This is also my first time buying a German car, and I am totally sold. I love my new car, its sturdiness, easy handling, and sound structure.

I ordered a new 2015 Gold TDI SE in blue with manual when they first started taking deposits. Our old TDI failed before the one on order arrived so I moved into the same car at the SEL trim level. More car than we needed but well worth the upgrade. Had it waiting for us, ready to go after paperwork and tutorial on the bells, whistles, features, and wow factors. I just purchased a new Jetta from here. It was my first new car purchase. With no co-signer and little credit history it was hard to find a good vehicle at a decent price. I tried to get financing on my own and with little luck I was ready to give up. I visited Westside for service on my golf. While they worked on it I walked there lot & later test drove two cars. I was surprised they let you go alone. The v-dubs are higher quality than all of my previous cars. My only regret is that I couldn't buy both cars I tested. Maura was very nice to work with. We were looking for a used car for my son and trading in a different car. During appraisal of our trade in, the dealer said there was some hail damage on the hood and trunk requiring $500 repairs. It was dusk so I was unable to corroborate these findings. i was not aware of any hail damage. The next day, I examined the car. It had just been washed and in bright sunlight. There was NO hail damage whatsoever. We ended up trading in the car to a different dealership. They also found NO hail damage. West Side VW lied to me over this purported hail damage and was clearly an attempt to devalue my trade by $500. Do not trust this dealership re. hail damage

Last Saturday I came into the dealership and was welcomed by Bobby Scala, right away I could tell Bobby was a very experienced salesman. I asked him about a car I had seen in the dealership and he was able to help me find the car I had seen and pulled it from a lot in the back of the dealership. Bobby was glad to let me take it for a test drive and the vehicle felt mechanically sound and tight, when I came back to the dealership I told Bobby I'd like to trade in my old SUV. Bobby asked me what I wanted for my trade in and we settled on a fair price, along with the competitive price on the Jetta, I believe I was treated very fairly! This is my second purchase of a preowned car at Westside VW. Both were Audi's and I would recommend this dealership to famity and friends.. They are unlike the sterotypical dealer and there is no high pressure selling on their behalf. They answer your questions and you decide what you want to buy, just the way it should be.Its hard to find something to critique maybe the fact their campus is a little hard to reach as they are in a very busy part of the city. They have a huge inventory and if they don't have it, they can probably get it for you. Nice people and well organized.

This was the first time i tried buying a car by myself. I have always had gm cars until i started having some problems that i wasn't ok with do to the car being a safety hazard. I went to Luther Westside VW without intensions of buying a car, just looking to get ideas and 3 hours later i drove home in my 2012 Jetta! The sales rep that first met me in the parking lot only minutes after arriving, and he was full of knowledge on just about every car made! We walked around and he got the idea of what I was looking for in a car. This gentlement never pushed me to purchase anything but trying to make this an enjoyable experience for me and pretty soon after the test drive i knew i was going to drive home in a different car then when i got there. Overall it was a great experience! The only thing that was time consuming was meeting with the finalcial advisor there because there were so many people that purchased a car the day i went, but hey thats a good thing!

Vince McDonald my sales consultant was accommodating and without me asking he, supported me, my situation, my budget, and my time. In most situations people hate spending time at the dealer ship, but Vince did the opposite. He made this experience the best I ever had, and I would refer anyone to him and west side Volkswagen. On very short notice last Saturday (May 24) I called Michele Pogue at Westside VW and said I'd be at the dealership by 1:30 PM to look at some used cars. Even though Michele (who works in the New Car Showroom) had two other customers at that time (no surprise here, the dealership was having a huge Memorial Day sale!), she graciously made time for my wife and I as we looked at some used cars. We test drove a few cars that we thought fit best with our family's needs and budget. Then Steve Hendricks (General Manager) suggested we take advantage of some very attractive, low interest rates on Certified Pre-owned Volkswagens. A couple of test drives later we settled on a 2013 Jetta. Steve, Craig (in the business office) and Michele went the extra mile finding a way to make the numbers work in terms of a monthly payment. The dealership was more than fair on a trade-in value for our 2005 Passat and, although we spent about three hours at the dealership, we couldn't have been happier with our overall experience. I'm confident anyone shopping for a new or used Volkswagen will have a purchase experience just as good as, if not better, than ours!

Our salesperson ( Doug Karnuth ) was very good treated both of us with the same respect - directed questions and concerns to both myself and my wife. I bought a used, tired Beetle Diesel at another dealership, and I've been getting all the maintenance caught up. Brought it in to Luther Westside VW for a needed timing belt/water pump/roller change, also there was a coolant leak, & also needed extra keys programmed (a different VW dealership had failed to make a working key 2 days before). Luther got it all done competently and the car is running great. The people are pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable & the rental car process was totally painless. The only downside was that the rental car (a 2013 Passat) was such a nice car that now I'm thinking I'd like to buy one... LOL. I don't ordinarily go to dealers, I lean towards Independents, but Luther is an exception. I'll definitely take the car there again for VW-specific repairs (as opposed to generic stuff like tires).

I just bought a new Passat from Westside VW after having my old car for 15 years and my prior car for 11 years. I generally do not like the car buying experience. However, I had an excellent experience at Westside and, in particular, Brian Trevino. I was able to research on the Westside website the three types of VWs I was considering. When I went to the Westside location, Brian showed me the types of cars of my interest and explained the details and answered my questions. When I picked up the car, Brian spent a lot of time explaining how to use the features and helped set up some features like syncing my cellphone. The various warranty extension options were explained to me and I was told that I did not have to decide that day if I wanted to purchase any of the options. It was not a high pressure sales routine that you fear can happen with a car buying situation. I believe I got a fair price and I feel I was treated very well. Brian Trevino and Westside VW are the antithesis of the William H Macy character in the movie Fargo.

I had decided I wanted a certified used car. VW is one fo the best with a 24 month/2 year bumper to bumper and I already have had four Volkswagens in my life, so it seemed a natural fit. For those of you in #MSP, I went to Volkswagen of Inver Grove and was treated with respect, but was told the price on the car was what it was and there was no leeway. There were none that fell within my budget and were just out by $500 or so. The salesperson, Ali, continued to show me things that were not within budget or what I wanted. It's rare that I have ever felt there was nothing I could do for a customer but, it is what it is and I respect that. With that being said, I went to Luther Westside Volkswagen and had my sights on a car, but they sold it. Bobby Scala (<--great guy), the sales person, was apologetic and after a superficial search of the inventory, we both knew there was not a car available within my parameters. He then went one step further and searched inventory that was just coming in and sure enough, found a vehicle that had not been processed to be advertised but was in the inventory. I told them my budget and they adjusted the price of the car to allow for the significant cost of tax, fees and registration. There are times that doing what is right for the customer is a good thing for a company and brand and said dealer recognizes this. If you find yourself in the market for an auto, go see the team at Luther Westside Auto. They'll accommodate your needs and go the extra steps to secure a great experience for you. I have been in customer service orientated jobs for 20 plus years and they nail it.

My recent visit to Luther Westside VW for an oil change on my 2005 Passat exceed all of my expectations. Tracy (Service Writer) greeted me upon arrival; she was charming, efficient and a true professional. Her estimated repair time was spot on. Tracy tried her very best to accommodate a last minute request to check the reasons behind an activated 'check engine' light, but the shop was simply too busy. Her willingness to consult with another Service Writer just proves the service department was doing everything they could that day to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I couldn't have asked for more. Lastly, one couldn't ask for a more comfortable waiting area - free newspapers, free coffee, even free snacks! Wow!

Helton Cerqueira at Luther Westside in St. Louis Park was the ONLY salesperson that I felt went above and beyond for me. Earlier is my buying process, I experienced pushy salespeople who ultimately made me feel pressured and very uncomfortable. Helton was the complete opposite! His laid-back yet professional demeanor was a breath of fresh air. He was exactly what I wanted in a salesperson genuine, honest, and knowledgeable. He happily had me test drive over 5 vehicles, stayed within my price range, and made me feel like he wasnt there just to make a sale. Even when I told Helton that I had to think everything through and come back tomorrow, he remained laid-back and non-aggressive. Obviously, I came back the next day and purchased my VW Jetta from Helton - I love it! I waited a few months to write this review because I wanted to include my follow-up experience. I took my 2009 Passat in for service. It had a good 164,000 miles. Instead of paying significant money to resolve the check engine light issue, I came home with an almost new 2013 Passat SE. Brad Davidson helped me with this purchase too. The 2013 is bigger, fancier, has more options and gets better fuel mileage, along with costing less! I was planning on buying a Buick for my next vehicle, but am glad I stayed with the Passat. It was a good day although I did not leave the dealership til after 9:00pm. My wife and I were in the process of looking to buy a new van, and Westside VW was recommended to us by a friend, so we decided to take a look. I started by viewing the vehicles on their website which was very easy to navigate and we found a couple that we were very interested in driving. I called and spoke with Vince McDonald and set up a time to take a test drive. Through the whole test drive experience Vince was very helpful with our questions about this vehicle, we were very happy with his help. We decided on a vehicle and Vince helped us through the financing process. When it was time to sign the loan agreement, Craig Erickson helped us with that. He was very helpful explaining all of the options that we had, including extended warranty, gap coverage etc. The navagation system was not working when we picked up the vehicle, so Vince set up an appointment for me to bring the vehicle in and have the service department correct this issue. The service department personnel were very helpful and knowledgeable when dealing with my vehicle. The service area was very clean and the waiting area was as well. The service department was able to correct the issue with the navagation system and we have loved our vehicle ever since. Thank you Westside VW for a great buying experience!

On Saturday I had an awesome experience with Bobby Scala and the team at Luther Westside VW. I initially thought I would be purchasing a Jetta S - took it for a test drive and it was a great car except for no cruise control :-( I voiced my concern about no cruise before the test drive and when we returned I was sure I needed cruise. While we were gone, Bobby searched for a vehicle that would fall into my perimeters. He even had the car running to warm up so we could take it for a test drive. It was THE car for me ~ I really love it. I appreciated not having to dicker and deal on price, etc. I feel I got a really good deal with very little hassle (actually no hassle)! I would recommend Bobby and Luther Westside!

I bought my most recent Volkswagen at Westside at the encouragement of a friend. It's further from my home, and a bit of a pain to get too. I began to report problems with the radio and navigation system right away, as soon as my first appointment one month after delivery. From the beginning I experienced quite the run around. I was deferred, told there was nothing they could do, promised follow up, etc. The problems continued and got worse. I've take then vehicle back two more times. Each time I'm told there is nothing they can do right now, just wait. They have a great deal of staff who don't coordinate well with each other. I see them taking lots of notes, but the next person you speak with never seems to know what the person before told you. At the conclusion of my last visit I was directed to the waiting room and told someone would come get me when the car was ready to go. 30 minutes later I started looking for someone and despite the fact that the place was full of staff, everyone was too busy to help. I walked outside and found the car sitting in the middle of the driveway. I won't go back. Today the whole system stopped working (I was promised a follow up within two weeks of my 1/7 visit, which has not happened). I'll go back to the dealership closer to my home, apologize for not buying the car their and see if they can help me.

Service writer, James Gatto, did an excellent job, getting the details of the repair done to my satisfaction! He went above and beyond the normal line of duty working with my auto insurance company, thank you, James! After the repairs were finished, I needed to load my vehicle on my flatbed trailer that night when it was -7, he offered to help, which I declined the offer, but then came out and checked on me before he left work that night. Good work, it is so refreshing to find a dealership that cares, (James, in doing his normal duties, represented the entire organization and because of him, my impression of Luther Westside VW is excellence).

I just bought my third (used) VW from Westside, and the service was courteous and complete. My salesperson, Bobby Scala, allowed me to take an extended test drive for a certified Golf. This gave me the time to pick up my wife from work, take a quick test drive, thoroughly examine the vehicle, and discuss our options over lunch. I didn't end up buying the car, but the gesture was appreciated. I ended up buying a certified GTI through him three days later. I was able to take my time choosing between two certified GTIs (test drives, discussing various equipment packages, etc.) and I'm confident I bought the best car for my needs. Bobby even helped me to navigate the Bluetooth setup (saving me time with the owner's manual) before we drove off the lot. Bobby gets 5 stars from us. I would recommend him to my friends. I did not have as good of an experience with the finance department. The gentleman (I won't name him to give the benefit of the doubt) might have talked quickly because he was nervous, but my wife and I think he was intentionally obfuscating terms and confusing us. We sat down to discuss a simple 60-mo. loan with a large down payment and a target of $200/mo. Instead, he immediately launched into an up-sell for an 8-year/100K mile extended warranty (same terms as usual certification). His approach was unexpected and took us both a few minutes to grasp. It was a confusing whirlwind. Unless we interrupted him and asked point-blank questions (literally, "yes" or "no"), he said only what he wanted to tell us, not what we wanted to hear. My wife and I finally extracted from him what he could have explained in a single sentence: "An extra 40K miles of warranty will cost you an extra $2K." That's all it was -- a simple, reasonably priced deal that covered most big repairs. Why did we have to work so hard to find that out? Had the discussion been framed differently, I might have seriously considered paying the extra amount. My wife had to leave for work, so we didn't discuss the experience until hours later. Her impression were the same as mine -- the guy was either messing with us, or was incapable of clear explanations. Whatever the case, the financing portion of our purchase was unpleasant, and the guy gets 1 star from us. As far as Westside's repair quality is concerned, I have always had good work done there. Prices can be significantly higher than at independent shops, through. As a side note, I purchased a replacement window through Luther's glass shop a few years ago (via an insurance claim). I was treated well and the work has held up over time. Regarding the new and used facilities at Westside -- the showrooms are attractive, modern and comfortable. The shop is tidy and professional.

Our Beetle convertible has been great fun. We've had several people walk over (in gas line, in parking lots) to say what a cute car it is. Our first check-up went very well. In at 11 A.M., out at noon. All was in fine working order. I had a cup of coffee, a granola bar, a comfortable chair, and an hour to read. A very good experience .... and we go forward.

I brought my car in for routine maintenance check. I would be waiting while the check-up/work took place. I was told what would be done, and where I could wait, along with approx. time the work would be completed. The waiting area was quite comfortable with tables to work at, or sofas to sit and relax. There was also a great supply of coffee, teas, and snack bars for the waiting customers. This was a very nice perk for their waiting customers. My car was completed under the estimated time, plus I was shown and given the list of what work was completed. An added surprise was that my car was also washed. What great service. Thanks so much.

I first met our sales guy, Bobby, a few months ago when I was tire-kicking and went to look at an older Honda Odyssey they had on the lot for cheap. I didn't like it, but I really liked Bobby's personality. So when I went back to check out the Routans, I was glad to see that Bobby was there and ready to help. The no-haggle, no pressure model is such a pleasure and the whole staff were courteous and sweet to me and my family. My toddler and 1-year-old were free to sit in the used cars pretending to drive, or hang out and watch TV and play with toys while we got the paperwork in order and everyone was very sweet to them. The Used Car side could use a few more toys to entertain kids during the car-buying process, but at least they try to get you through it as quickly as possible. And the Service Dept. has many more amenities if we need to spend time there (we haven't yet, but their great reputation has us feeling confident that we'll be treated well). Now a quick review of the vehicle: When we were ready to get serious about buying a minivan, I did a ton of research and we test drove a few. The Town & Country had the most amenities but had poor handling. The Odyssey drives great and has some nice features but the used ones are still extremely expensive. I wasn't too optimistic about driving a Routan because it's built on a Town & Country platform and some reviews I read said that it was basically the same but with a "slightly firmer" suspension. I totally disagree - I found the Routan to be worlds better to drive than the Town & Country. It's stiff and European and feels like a million bucks. And with it's few little body tweaks and VW interior styling, it looks way nicer than the Town & Country as well. As for bang for the buck, it's really nicely appointed and we were able to get last year's model with under 20k miles for 4 grand less than a comparable Odyssey that was a year older and had about 40k miles. As for reliability, because it was a newer car and a Certified Used vehicle, we were basically covered bumper-to-bumper for another 4 years. We added a very affordable comprehensive plan so now we're covered for the next 8 years or up to 100k miles for about 20 bucks. That negates any possible concerns about reliability - right down to the Nav system, the DVD entertainment system, etc. - it's all covered. End of story. We feel like we got a no-worries, brand new vehicle for half price.

I came here to look at used SUV but then I've found out that they have couple of VW Passat's in great condition and for affordable price. I drove the previous generation of Passat and know I this car. I want to say thank you to our salesman - Mikhail Lemishenko.He helped us to choose one that we need. I purchased a new to me but "certified" pre-owned 2009 VW at another dealer and right away discovered my vehicle needed help. After 2 visits to dealer that didn't resolve problem I requested they take it to Luther VW. From the moment I pulled up, the service department was so incredibly great to me. They immediately acknowledged there was indeed a very serious issue happening and worked very hard to get my issue resolved while working with the other dealer for the bill. I have purchased an automobile online from Westside VW. This is something that is a little scary if it weren't for their honest commitment to please me. Helton, the internet sales manager was extremely pleasant to work with through emails and phone conversations. The car will be delivered to me soon as Helton is setting up delivery. We test drove a car on Thursday, August 29th. We really liked the ride, the feel of the car, everything you like about a new car. My wife said she would prefer the Tornado red color. Recently, I made the decision to buy a new vehicle. I had done my homework and knew what features and interior/exterior colors I wanted but finding the car was difficult. To make matters worse I live in a rural area where the closest dealer is over 1 hour away. Enter Westside Volkswagen and the internet sales department (call out to Nick Reynolds!). Remarkably, we accomplished most of our communication via email with a few phone calls. Nick and the sales manager Marc Carden took me at my word when I said I wanted a 2013 Passat TDI SE (stick was mandatory!) in tungsten silver with a cornsilk beige interior. They found one in Ohio and we came to an agreement on price, shipping costs and financing only to find out it had just been sold locally. Then they found the last one in Oregon, purchased it outright, and arranged to have it shipped back to Minnesota at the same final price and financing we had agreed upon. It had been a while since I purchased a new car but this experience was nothing like my previous experiences. Luther Westside worked hard to get me what I wanted at what I considered to be a fair price. Signing and filing paperwork went smoothly, and Nick was thorough and knowledgeable about the car when demonstrating it before we left. Owning a new car is much more satisfying when you do not have to go through the wringer to get the deal done. Thank you Westside!

My husband and I were looking for a new car for me. We had a rough time at a local Ford Dealership, and I was feeling very discouraged. Don't you just hate it when you give your budget and the sales person shows you cars $10,000 over that budget!?! My sister in law recommended Jim Southwell at Westside VW, and I am so glad she did. Not only did Jim take the time to get to know exactly what I wanted in a car, he also stuck within my budget. I got to test drive a couple Jettas, and then found the one I loved the most! Best of all, it came in $3,000 under our budget with only 20,000 miles! With Jim, it was the little things; he addressed me and my husband by name after only being told once what they were, he took the time to show me all of the features of my car right down to the vent controls and windows, and (most importantly) he remembered my sister in law and her husband! We went through financing with Craig, and he was quick! We were in and out of the dealership in 3 hours, pretty much unheard of in my car buying experience. We will be back to purchase our next vehicles from Westside VW. It was easily the most pleasant car purchasing experience I've ever had.

I stopped in to have one of my vw vehicles serviced and I left by way of the showroom to see what was new. Kurt Bublitz approached me, introduced himself and asked if he could help me. I was interested in a Jetta SportsWagon. Kurt answered all my questions and showed me all the areas and features of this model. He then gave me a brochure along with details on 2 specific SportsWagons. Before I left he introduced me to Charlie Guptill who was able to explain in detail the variety of extended warranties available. When I arrived home, I discussed the materials with my husband. The next morning I called Kurt and told him that we were seriously considering buying a SportWagon. Kurt worked the numbers and called me back. After work my husband and I met with Kurt at Luther WestSide and test drove the car and covered all the necessary details. Kurt sent us to Charlie where we were able to get the extended warranty that would be best for our family. Both Kurt and Charlie were helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. We had a very good experience buying a new vehicle.

My recent experience with Brad Davidson at Westside met my expectations at a very high level as a car buyer. Past car buying experiences just don't compare. He was very knowledgeable about the various models of cars, options that were available on each, details about the various features and benefits and also very knowledgeable about the company - VW in general. His demeaner was very approachable and responsive. He was very accomodating when it came to test drives and then able to discuss any questions and offer his opinions in an open way afterwards. I met Bobby Scala upon my arrival. He was personable, funny, and listened to what I was looking for. I had been looking online and found a car that was perfect for me. He told me that someone was test driving it and would keep an eye out for when they got back. In the meantime he found me another car that was very similar to the one I had found online and that was also in my price range. I test drove that one and when I got back had found bobby with the keys to the original car I wanted in his hands. I test drove it, fell in love, and bought it. As an out-of-town visitor needing a vehicle service while I was on the road, I didn't expect to get great service from another dealership. On the contrary, the service department was very accommodating. I dropped my car off one hour early for the appointment and went to run some errands. As soon as I drove into the service garage, there was a service manager to look at my car and go over the service with me. I really needed new tires, which they expressed concern about immediately, but weren't pushy about selling me what they had on hand. There was only one type of tire they had on hand that fit my car, but it wasn't what I was looking for and they didn't continue to push it on me (the price was reasonable, but if I found the same tire for less they would have matched it). They had good recommendations, and although the initial estimate for the service about about $250, it only ended up being $117 because they didn't perform the services my car didn't need. The service took about an hour, and I got a phone call when they finished. Payment was easy and prompt, and they washed my car before I picked it up. Overall fantastic service.

This was my first experience buying a car and it was a pleasant experience. I knew what kind of car I wanted to buy before I went to the dealership, but was shown two different model types that they had on their lot. I quickly decided on the CC sport R Line and took a test drive within minutes. Bobby was very helpful, especially with the fact that I was leaving town the day after and couldn't make the purchase that day. He worked with me and let me put a hold on the car until I returned. The only part of the process I felt a little pressured on or nervous with was talking with Craig in finance as I had never made a purchase this large in my life before. It may have been a normal process as far as dealerships go, but I guess I won't know until I buy my next car. Overall I was happy with how I was treated.

I should start by stating that I purchase or lease a new vehicle every two years. I have had a lot of dealings with new car dealerships, and was impressed with the low pressure buying atmosphere at Luther Westside. Having done business at other Luther group locations, I had high expectations and not disappointed with the sales process. After leasing a 2013 Jetta, I decided to have a spoiler installed at the same time as 30-60 day "check-up" service. I was told the car would be in and out on the same day, and given a loaner to use during the service. All good so far, but then the interesting things started to happen. I was contacted later that day and was told the wrong part was ordered and they did not have the spoiler on hand (the part was pre-ordered by the sales department 1 week prior to the appointment), and to stay in the dealer car for another day. The next day I was again contacted by sales and informed that the spoiler was not received overnight like they planned and to stay in the loaner for another day... this occured for several days, with the excuses changing only slightly. After six days in the loaner I informed the service rep that I was going out of town on a road trip and would be in later in the day to get my car and if the spoiler was not on to just cancel the service order and I would just go elsewhere when I returned home. Only then was I told that the spoiler was on, but was put on incorrectly and needed to be reinstalled. Shocked that a week later the car was still not done, I picked it up, went on my trip, and it was picked up by the dealership on the following Monday to be fixed properly. I was again provided a loaner, and told the car would be back later in the day or the next. 3 days later I was contacted and told the work was done perfectly this time and inspected/approved by a service manager. In fact the spoiler was not reinstalled - they just tried to add more adhesive to hold down the unattached portion. The same errors were still visible but now accompanied by excess glue along the edges. The work was sloppy, not what I would expect of an established dealership, and certainly would not pass any sort of quality inspection - which a manager certainly never completed. Finally having enough, I told the service rep that had been communicating with me that the spoiler needed to be removed and I would go elsewhere for the work. Of course he tried to let me have them install it a 3rd time, which I declined. The removal took 3 additional days, and when I finally went to pick up the car and get a refund I was told that they could not refund the credit card I paid with, and that they would instead mail me a check. I refused to take my car back until I get the check; if I have learned anything through this ordeal it is not to trust the word of Westside service. What sort of business today cannot process a refund and must cut you a check? I suspect that the refund issue has to do with the service statistics for dealership ratings, but it still not acceptable. Luther Westside is less than a quarter mile away from my home, but given how a simple spoiler install was handled, I will not be trusting them to service my car in the future. In short, save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

My husband and I were leaving when the salesman - Helton flagged us down to say that 2 used VW's like the one we wanted were just on their way into their shop due to someone trading them in so we waited to check one of them out. We found the Westside VW Dealership on line and decided this would be a good place to go for the Volkswagen we were looking to buy. We live about 1.5 hours away but soon found out it was well worth the trip! Not only is the selection huge, the customer service is outstanding! We worked with Maura. Luther Westside is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure working with. I bought a 2012 Routan and 3 days after I noticed the CD player was not functioning correctly. I returned to the dealership to have it examined and they also found the CD player to be defective. They replaced the CD player with the same model and the exact same problem was happening. At this point, they started ignoring me. My calls were ignored and even an extra visit to speak with a manager was a waste of time. I was promised a phone call the next day with a solution, never heard back. Turns out, ALL of the CD players of that model are defective. (they cut out the beginning of tracks) Luther Westside was ignoring me because they didnt want to admit they were all garbage. I visited Burnsville Luther and they ALSO found it to be defective. I filed a complaint with VW of America and after they sent a case manager to investigate, Westside Luther told them that is was MY fault because I was listening to illegally burned CDs. THAT IS A LIE! The service advisor and the mechanic BOTH watched me use legal CDs (which I purchased off Amazon) to demonstrate the defect. After they told VW of America those lies, I was branded as a liar trying to take advantage of them. So after 2 VW dealerships found it to be defective, they STILL would not replace the CD player they sold me. After 6 MONTHS of arguing with this terrible company, I had no choice but to file a lawsuit. STAY AWAY FROM LUTHER WESTSIDE! TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!

Brought my 2001 New Beetle for "Check Engine" diagnosis and 40,000 mile (not a typo!) service in June 2013. I got a prompt call from the mechanic after a first look; he said ignition needed replacing, otherwise things looked OK. Later, Travino called with a fuller update and the estimated cost. A bit of sticker shock! But by the standards of today, probably not unreasonable considering the 40,000 mile is a big event, and a lot of maintenance was done. Travino did his best to mitigate some of the charges, and I was very satisfied in the end, thanks to his efforts to keep me informed. The work was done promptly and well, and your customer service is the best!

I felt like I was buying a car from my neighbors. If VWs are on your car list, make sure that Westside is on your list of dealers.

I brought 2012 Tiguan in for service and was delighted that it was so easy. When I made the appt. I wanted to wait for my car. In the intervening time, my son got sick and I had to take him to the doc. Rather than make me reschedule either appointment, Brian set me up with a loaner for the afternoon. When I came back, the car was fixed, clean and ready to go. Brian and Boun even helped me get a loaner with a sunroof! This is not my first time at Westside, but each time Ive been there, the service and staff have been excellent.

I found the process of shopping for and buying a car at Luther Westside VW to be an easy experience. I was in the market for a higher-end, pre-owned car to replace my 2000 VW Jetta. After doing an internet search for certain vehicles I found that Luther Westside had a wide selection. I was helped in the process by Gervona Jackson, with whom I developed a friendly e-mail relationship. She remained aware of my interest, respected my time frame and stayed in touch from February through April. On the day of my purchase, April 27, 2013, she was very responsive to my needs even though it was an extremely busy day at the dealership. I like the fair price approach and also know that they offered me slightly above Blue book trade value for my car. All in all, it was very easy and free of some of the most stressful aspects of buying a car.

I had an unevenness in my left side, took the car into the dealer and described the issue. They quickly diagnosed it and were prompt about communication on what they were checking into. They replaced the left wheel bearing being under warranty and I was out the door in about two hours with a clean car. TV was a bit loud so something to be mindful of if needing to get work done. Great experience!

Saturday we stopped by to look at a 2013 EOS. David Hartman started to help us as we were walking the lot. He went and showed us the one in the showroom, and explained everything about the car as if we had bought it already. David then gave us a test ride, after we returned he answered all our questions. Never once did we feel any pressure to buy. Monday we returned to buy the EOS, what a great experience through the whole sales process!!! It may not be the closet dealer to where we live, but we believe it's well worth the drive!

These guys are pros. Helton was a great guy to work with and knows his cars. Very polite and they LISTEN. Plus they are not paid on a percentage commission, but rather a flat rate commission no matter the car. So they show you the car you want rather than a car they want to sell. Luther Westside fixed my 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI and demonstrated quality customer service. I originally took my car in for an extended warranty part that needed to be replaced. Specifically I worked with Mikhail, Angie, and John, and they were incredibly welcoming, friendly, smiley, and knowledgeable. We were comfortable the minute we walked in, and no one was pushy about anything whatsoever. Everything went very smoothly and swiftly. The facility itself was very nice and clean. Started the process on Monday through Cars.com website by requesting a quote. Nick Reynolds responded to our request and emailed quote first thing the next morning. Reviewed options on Wednesday, received an invoice on Thursday, drove 650 miles on Friday (from Williston, ND) and bought 2013 Passat TDI 6 speed on Saturday morning. My wife and I have four children. If we had the money we'd buy each of our children a car just like the one we bought! The car rides quietly and the shifting is smooth. 40 mpg is just icing on the cake.

Each time I come to this dealership, whether I walk in the front door or drive into the service garage, I am always acknowledged by one of the staff within a few seconds. The staff are always professional and friendly. This is the 3rd vehicle that I leased with this dealership and each time I have worked with David Hartman. He is a great salesman, he asks questions to see what my "needs are this time". He explains all the features and benefits of owning a VW compared to other brand vehicles of the same style that I have been looking at (ie: Tiguan, Escape, CRV etc.) David explains all of the buying, leasing options, advantages and disadvantages, he sits in the car with you and explains all of the features and how they work. Purchasd a used 2008 Hyundai Sonata Limited from Westside VW in St Louis Park, MN. The salesman was pleasant to deal with and honest with his answers. Had an issue with the finance dept when I went to finalize the purchase. I had been preapproved for a loan and knew the interest rate I would be paying. When finance wrote up the purchase agreement, they had used an interest rate that was more than double what I could get. After telling the finance person what interest rate I could get, he miraculously was able to get the same rate, which left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I understand business and making money, but felt this was dishonest and know many others that have not done their homework are paying higher rates than need be. I also used their service for a TPMS light issue. The service dept was very cordial and easy to deal with and they provided me with a loaner car for the two times I brought my car in. The first go around, the car was sent to a third party repair shop becuase the VW service did not have the tools to diagnose and repair the TPMS issue. Picked up the repaired car and on the drive back home, the light came back on. I turned around and brought it back. I got a second loaner car and my car was sent to their affiliated Hyundai shop for repairs. A week later I picked up my Hyundai. The next day when it was light outside, I noticed how dirty the drivers side carpet, door panel and rocker panel was. Obviously the mechanic working on the vehicle had greasy hands/boots and left his marks. This was very disappointing to see when I had only driven the car less than 50 miles in 2.5 weeks of owning the car. I would expect that a bit more care be taken when servicing vehicles and clean up any messes they had made.

I think the best thing about Luther is that they took the time to crunch A LOT of numbers for me to find out what the best option was for my needs. They must have ran 6+ different scenarios for me with both leases and purchases. Overall it was a great experience! Also, although I haven't used it yet, the service center seems rather clean and organized. Definitely a place I would feel comfortable bringing a vehicle to get repaired.

I took my car in with an unusual problem. The service department worked hard to figure out what was happening and when they discovered the problem I was quickly advised of what it was and how much it would cost. There was a delay in getting the part and I had to leave my car there for two extra days. They offered me a rental at no charge. It also took more time to fix then originally thought but I was not charged anything over the quoted price. They even washed my car before I came to pick it up.

Great Experience! The folks at Luther Westside VW were so friendly and accomodating throughout my service appointment. I received a promt and friendly greeting upon my arrival and I was kept informed along the way. I chose to rent a car versus waiting for mine to be serviced and the rental car was in great shape and ready upon my arrival---even though I was almost an hour early. Also, I had quite a few things to transfer to the rental car and the fantastic service staff helped me with my bags both in and out of the rental car. Everyone was friendly and ready to answer all sorts of specific questions. The dealership is easy to find and easy to get to from the North but if you are coming from the South you may want to call and get directions so you don't miss the exit. The added bonus to calling ahead is they will get a vehicle ready for you when get there; if you know what you are looking for this can save a lot of time and really get the ball rolling. These guys are there to help you. I never felt like my time was being wasted or that I was being pressured to look at or consider something that I was not interested in.

I could not get my local VW dealer to give me any sort of deal, so I expanded my search. Luther Westside VW is 4 hours from my home, but they had the car I wanted (VW CC 4MOTION), and at a price that blew away my local dealer. I was able to take care of almost everything through emails and phone calls - including the valuation of my trade - and once I got to Luther, finalizing the paperwork took about an hour.The deal could not have gone more smoothly, and Doug Karnuth at Luther was a pleasure to work with. Buying a car long-distance is not something most people would consider. But based on my experience at Luther, I would not hesitate to do it again, and would recommend Luther to anyone.

I just bought my new Tiguan and the overall buying process was fun, easy, no hassels and it was a joy to buy. I looked at several different makes and models, and Westside offered their best price first. The other dealers were more into haggling. My sales person was extremely knowledgeable about their products, very helpful and no pressure. It was a great buying experience. Even when it came time to write the check, the financial process was very streamlined, all the preliminary documents were complete, just awaiting final review with myself. I also looked at several different makes including VW, BMW and Lexus. They say the true test of good customer service is when things do not go right. I brought my car in because the car alarm would go off at all times of the night and my check engine light came on and would never go off. Of course the day I took my car in was the day the engine light finally went off. I was in a frustrated mood as I had brought my car in last October for the exact same reasons. In fact, thie was the 3rd or 4th time I brought my car in because of the alarm going off. The gentleman who checked in my car was polite and professional, as well as the the team leader assigned to my car (I was not impressed with the team leader from the last time I brought my car in as I felt I had to force him to look for a solution to my car alarm problem). However this time people listened to my frustration, assured me my experience would be different from last time, and provided a loaner car free of charge. When I was called about the cost of fixing my car -- a broken door latch was the cause of my alarm problem and a broken thermostat and heat sensor. I did not feel I should pay full price for the door latch as I had 3 or 4 times brought my car in and nor should I pay full price as I had a thermostat installed a year ago. The team leader worked a deal with the dealership and I splitting the cost of the door latch and giving me a reduction on the thermostat. Although I was not happy at paying out $600, especially during the holiday season, I have to say that the staff were all polite, respectful, and professional. One thing that does need to be worked on - I called at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, 15 Dec, to see if my car was ready. I was told it was except for the paperwork, which he thought would be done by 2:15 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. at the latest. I arrived at the dealership at 3:00 p.m., went to the cashier, who said the paperwork was not done yet. When I told her I spoke with the team leader and repeated what he said, she sent me over to him. He said the paperwork was done, just that it was with his manager, who was working in the discounts we had agreed upon. It was not until 3:18 p.m. that the paperwork was finally done. I was told that they were going to bring my car inside (instead of leaving it outside). I waited almost five minutes when the team leader spotted me, and radioed to find out where my car was. He was told they were going to have it washed, but I told them no. I waited almost 40 minutes for my car and I just wanted to go home. So, I would say that staff needs to improve on these handoffs. Don't tell me it will be 5 minutes, when it is going to be 15 or 20. I may not like hearing it will be 15 or 20 minutes, but it is better to know up front than to stand around waiting and waiting. Would I go back - yes, I would. But I would double check any timeframes they gave me.

Bobby was dedicated to finding me the right car. He wasn't pushy and made the buying process smooth. Most of all he created a WOW moment when he told me my car had a fresh tank of gas, my new monster mats put in, and he handed me a gallon of washer fluid.

I appreciated the respectful way I was treated by Bobby Scala, the sales person and the business manager. No hard sell, no games. I test drove the car, we talked pricing and financing options and I even backed out for a short time after that, just because I wasn't sure I was ready to buy yet (this car is a toy and not a necessary purchase). Still, no problem, no pressure. I came back a month later and bought the car. The purchase transaction was well organized and easy. My only complaint is that they had to order an owners manual for me. I didn't have to ask for it, but it seems that if they were going to give one away anyway, that they might have gotten it ordered ahead of time. It's a minor complaint. My overall experience has been very positive.

My experiece this past weekend was unexpected due to an unplanned repair. I am grateful to the towing service provided and to the calm, professional response of the service advisor to my anxiety resulting from this unexpected repair. I was treated with respect and assurance that all would be well once the technicians had time to assess the situation. This happened late in the day on a Friday and I am grateful they would be able to work on my vehicle on Saturday. Oh, BTW, this was during the height of holiday activities!

After exceptional sales service recently to upgrade my lease, I had a problem with a clunky noise that had me concerned. The Service call center worked very hard on a busy day to get me an appointment and the process from check in to solution was personable and efficient. Problem solved, knowledgeable and friendly service and covered by my lease warranty. This is the only VW dealer in town that I trust as reliable after experiences elsewhere.

My car is a 2011 Jetta Sportswagon with less than 10,000 miles and I have had it in the shop a number of times for issues covered under warranty. I use to get a loaner for the inconvenience (which dropping off a car and letting them have it all day is) but now I have to rent a car for the day from Volkswagon. Seems to me I am out financially due to a quality issue with my car that VW is responsible for. Other than this, Westside VW is a great dealership.

I was at Westside to have service done on my VW Passat. I ended up leasing a 2013 Beetle! I have been looking at the Beetle for a while, but was not looking to purchase one for a while. I have mostly had wonderful experiences with Luther Westside VW. Their facilities are awesome when you are waiting for your car, which is what I usually do. As far as their technical work goes they do a good job. This particular time I had sort of a bad experience. The primary issue was that there was a inside the car part defect, which when I was out of town in a different state the local dealership there said yes there was something wrong with it and that since they were a smaller dealership they would have to order the part and it would take a week to come in. So, I said I will just have it fixed when I get back to where I live and the dealership where I bought my car, which is Westside VW. But when I took it in, the dealership said they could find nothing wrong with it and that they would not fix it. I will say that the problem with the part did not seem as bad in a more colder climate, where things don't peel of as easily. But I was just surprised how one dealership thought it was completely defective and the other one things there is nothing wrong. Maybe this is a Volkswagen thing, but either way its tough for me because my full coverage warranty runs out soon and if this issue surfaces again once the summer comes, I am not sure what to do. They did say that since it has been documented they will work with me on it. But who knows if that will happen or how much of it I would have to pay. I am just frustrated because this happened under warranty but now I will be put in a situation where I have to be at their mercy.

I test drove a used car that seemed very nice and well priced. Early on in the sales process I asked for any repair records they had from their shop. Towards the very end I asked again and they finally produced them. The car had been pruchased and serviced by them all along. in the previous 10 months the car had been in their shop 5 times with moderate problems, 2 of the 5 times it had been towed in. When I saw this and said the car seemed like a lemon, I got a blank look and was told its not a lemon, its 2 yr / 24 k miles certified. I didnt buy the car. I did buy another as the car all looked good, repair records too, was well priced, and cars I had seen at other dealers had been sold while I had wasted my time on the "lemon".

I always am very pleased with Westside and its service, personnel, quality, etc. This time there is a small "glitch" in that as soon as I drove away I noticed that my tire light inside was on and didn't have time to go back and was because the car was outside and cold (told when I called) and I thought that someone could have noticed that (the driver who brought me the car) or it should have been checked before bringing me the car. Otherwise, everything was fine as always.

I took my 2001 Jetta in for service and ended up with a monster repair bill. After much consideration I decided I wasn't going to risk the investment into an 11-year old car. I worked with Carol Jean in viewing a few Tiguans and ultimately ended up buying a new 2013 model. I was not pressured to finalize repairs on my old car during the whole 2-week process it took me to decide what to do. Carol's service was outstanding. She even helped me clean out my personal things from my old car! I would highly recommend this dealership, and Carol specifically, to anyone interested in buying a new car!

The sales staff was friendly and helpful. Not pushy, honest, and down-to-earth. It felt like more of a consultation than a sales experience. This dealership does a lot of business and there is a reason for it: you can expect to walk in there and receive good honest advice, not someone just trying to make a sale. I was under the impression that all used car sales are seedy and manipulative, but there was no pressure at all here. I came out with the car of my choice within a couple of hours, and that includes the test drive. They were also diligent and fair with my trade-in value for my old car. No complaints. This place is great.

I really enjoyed working with Gervona on my purchasing a car. I was nervous about the whole dealership thing, and she made me feel comfortable. She was personable and also knowledgable. She knew what she was talking about and helped me understand what I was getting myself into. I also felt comfortable as I was working on doing the application for my loan and received explanations on what it consisted of that were in layman's terms so I really understood it all. Everyone was friendly in demeanor and helpful throughout the whole process. Overall good. Expected vehicle a bit more detailed I guess. Also it needed an alingment which I would have expected the service dept or inspection folks to catch and not the customer. I worked in a service manager role and wouldn't have missed it and it would have been as flawless as possible. I'm picky, but still satisfied.

I was early for my 30K free maintenance check. They were more than happy to accommodate me and a short time later was given an update on how the check was progressing. The service dept came and explained everything they found, told me what to expect, and when I would need to come back for my next maintenance check. Very happy with VW and LOVE my CC!

As a picky buyer, i'm always suspect. I was in for my 10,000 mile service on my new Touareg. It was fast and complete. Everyone i dealt with was awesome from a customer service standpoint. I really like the fact that this dealerships is "very" clean with a very good customer waiting room. I will be back for my 20,000. I should also say this is our 3rd car purchased and all the experiences have been 100%. Nice job Luther.

I originally came into Westside Volkswagen to get my car appraised. It was clear when I arrived the salesman was interested in getting me into a new car that night. I was originally apprehensive, unsure about financing, and unprepared to purchase a new car so soon. However, after some communications and clarity regarding the vehicle I was interested in and pricing options I went home, talked with my insurance agent and picked up my new car the next day. Overall happy experience and outcome.

Went in to just compare a car of their's to another one. But Kader, the salesperson, was very helpful and saw to it that my car was evaluated promptly and that I could test drive the car I was interested in right away. They were willing to add a feature I wanted to the car and a deal was made easily. Although, I was pre approved for a loan by my credit union, the credit manager at Westside kept digging and digging until he found a rate that was better. He didn't stop there and wound up besting my credit union loan rate by 1.5%. They cleaned the car, filled it with gas and I was on my way even though I didn't have the title to my car with me. Excellent and hassle free experience.

I brought my car in for an oil change. My service rep Kale, said he would see if I had any factory recalls. I had a couple of recalls and he asked if I wanted to get the work done now or at another time. I was given an estimated 1 1/2 hours for the work to be completed. It ended up taking closer to 2 hours. Other than an increased in amount of time to have the work completed, I was very pleased and happy I decided to get all the work done.

We just bought our 4th car from John Ward in used car sales. The process is always quick, we get a fair trade value, and it's no pressure. Since our last purchase, Luther has adopted "fair value pricing" which means no haggling over price, kind of like Saturn used to be, one price, as marked, very nice! Gervona in used car sales also helped us with some questions when John was out. She's super knowledgable, and it's nice to visit a dealership where everyone is willing to help you, not just your salesperson. We love our new car, thanks guys for another great experience!

I had a very good shopping and buying experience at Westside. Vad Fridyland, the finance department, and the Closings people were all helpful. In the past I've avoided buying used from dealers, confident I could get better prices through private sellers, but Westside got me a better interest rate than I could get through my Credit Union, so I saved money there. The family loves our Jetta, and I consider it superior to the Corolla we were looking at in the same price range.
