Mark Woolery is a great service manager. He is friendly, professional, and thorough each and every time I visit McCarthy. He does a great job of keeping the customer informed of what needs to be done and how much it will cost. He also always does a thorough check to make sure that everything is in great working order. I am very picky about my car being safe and reliable. I know that by taking my car to McCarthy Service Department, it will run efficiently and safely at all times. Mark is also someone you can trust. He is thorough, honest, and does what he says. He makes sure to take of the customer first and foremost--always calling with updates and showing concern for the customers' time and hassle. The service center will shuttle the customer across the street for shopping while he/she waits, or they have a great reception center as well. Mark can also fix and repair almost any make of vehicle. I have recommended the dealership to my friends and neighbors who have Fords and Chevys, and he does a great job with these makes as well. He is always professional, efficient, and friendly. Even when I have gotten bad news on my car, I have never worried because Mark has a no problem, we will get if fixed in no time and have you back on the road personality. Mark makes the service department the best in town. I highly recommend this shop to everyone who is looking for an expert shop that will keep their vehicle safe and reliable. They do a great job and have very reasonable prices as well. It has the best hassle free experience for the customer too!

I traded my last vehicle July 19, 2014 and Tony was very helpful without being pushy. Now I'm thinking of trading my lease RAV4 for a 2016 RAV4 Hybrid. When you go in the service center and yell them exactly what you want done and to call you on the other items and they take it upon there self to make the decision and fix it and then you have a high bill .If a customer wants a call before fixing that should be what they do but it's all about the mighty dollar to them

This Sedalia, MO Toyota dealer has changed hands in the last several years or so and quite frankly the staff attitude under the "new" banner has changed also, but not for the better. Although people we dealt with tried to be friendly, it seemed forced and fake. As we did end up buying a vehicle, the experience was not as pleasant as our six previous Toyota purchases at the same location, but with a different owner and unlikely for us to buy again.A lot of little things piled up to be quite annoying, and in hindsight, we should have shopped around much more, as I think this dealer would have quickly fallen to last choice. Perhaps we drew an inexperienced sales person, but I would advise one to beware of promises made but no follow up after the sale. Rather a shame as I, at one time, considered this the best Toyota dealership in the state. And we possibly started out on the wrong foot as the first vehicle in the series we were interested in had a dead battery (A new car!), one in which the staff picked for us. Made me wonder what other things were overlooked on the new car sales lot.

I bought a 2011 Rav 4 in March of 2013. The salesman I worked with was Wonderful! I then went to see Mandy, and man was she friendly too! I got great financing and I was also convinced to buy the Vehicle Service Plan. I decided to trade vehicles a few weeks ago just for the fact I didn't want to have to drive to Sedalia everytime I needed something done. So...I find out when I buy my new vehicle that I am entitled to a partial refund on the service agreement. I've been trying to get a hold of Mandy for 4 days to get the ball rolling. I have left numerous messages and have emailed her also. I have yet to hear from her. They must keep her very busy! I gave up and called an 800 number and had matters taken care of in 5 minutes. I think the staff is friendly as long as they are getting your money, but when it comes to giving back refunds..not so much. BTW the refund was almost 700.00. Who wouldn't want that? I would not recommend McCarthy's Toyota!

We arrived for our mid morning oil change and were promptly taken care of by Mark. He took down our concerns, one of which was a noise we heard while driving, and then he showed us the way to the waiting area. The waiting area itself was pleasant with options for something to drink and a TV to watch, tho the TV's sound was a tad quiet. Due to this, we tired of sitting around and decided to take a walk in the sunny but brisk outdoors. To our surprise, we heard someone calling our names. Mark had discovered the cause of the noise we were concerned about, and he tracked us down to let us know what the cause was (tire type). He explained it and left us to think over our options. As we walked around the lot we were approached by a very nice salesman, unfortunately I do not recall his name. He was a very nice young man, and he politely inquired as to whether we were looking to trade in our car on a newer model and explained the advantages of that. We were not interested in trading in the car since we haven't owned it long, and he did not apply any pressure, just was very pleasant. When we tired of our walk we went back inside and had only a little while to wait until Mark appeared again to let us know our car was ready. We paid for the work done, and he explained that the alignment of the car was somewhat off, resulting in the car toeing in, and "out of spec.". We asked him about how long it would take to correct that. It was coming up on their lunch time and ours, so he suggested that we come back after lunch and we would have no waiting for the alignment. We did as he suggested, returned after lunch, and we were immediately taken to the waiting room while the technicians took care of the car. Again, it didn't take long before we saw Mark coming to get us. He assured us that the car was now properly aligned and ready to go. Mark was friendly but professional, and we really appreciated his keeping us so well informed of the details of our car. We are very happy your dealership has Mark there to help customers like us make good decisions to keep our cars running at their best! Thank you so much for your help, Mark!

I purchased a brand new vehicle in December and had an issue with a crack in the windshield. No-one was able to do anything for me until Angie at the collision center. She went out of her way to ensure at least something was done that was satisfactory to help me in everyway possible. Everyone else was concerned with just moving me along to the next person. She acted like she cared and did everything she could to ensure I was happy and at least got something accomplished with the brand new vehicle I bought. If it was not for her, I would never recommend this dealership to anyone again. Due to her, I might buy another vehicle from them.

We knew exactly what we wanted, and our local dealer didn't have the right color of vehicle we were searching for, and we didn't want to commit to buying a vehicle we had not driven. We did an extensive Internet search for the "just right" sedan, and came up with the McCarthy Toyota dealership. We decided to see what they as well as one or two other dealers had to offer. As soon as we parked in the lot, Tony Wood greeted us and asked if he could help. Nothing pushy, but simple courtesy. We explained what we wanted and he showed us exactly what we asked for--he didn't try to push us into another more expensive model, or try to sell us features we weren't interested in. There was the usual back and forth price negotiation, and we came to an agreeable settlement. Even knowing dealerships train their people to "connect" with potential customers, Tony Wood was an exceptional young salesman: not pushy, courteous, knowledgeable, intuitive, with integrity. We drove away very happy with our purchase.

Rob Callahan at McCarthy Toyota provided my family and myself an excellent customer experience during the sale of the Nissan Pathfinder. I sincerely appreciated Rob's no pressure sales approach. When I first contacted him by phone for more information about the pathfinder he was quick to respond with a video of the vehicle emailed to me, considering the dealership had just acquired the car, and they were very flexible when I mentioned my price point. My wife was impressed when Rob delivered the pathfinder to our house (in Columbia an hour away from the dealership) for a test drive and did not give her the "sales pitch". Also delivering the car to columbia for us to test drive was going above and beyond to earn our business. If every customer that visits McCarthy Toyota receives that above mentioned treatment Rob and McCarthy will be very successful. I will definitely tell my friends about my excellent customer experience.

After a week long battle if searching for a car and feeling like I was being "pushed into something" from my insurance company I was lead to a used, yet beautiful 2012 Chevy Equinox here. Ricky (salesman) went above and beyond bringing the car to ME in Blue Springs, Mo all the way from Sedalia, Mo, when he didn't have too just so that I could test drive and check out/keep the car over night and made everything work flawlessly. He was easy to talk too, and I knew it would just be great. While I was very stressed he helped to calm me down and was VERY knowledgable about the car and the whole car business in general. There was no type of intimidation factor and he was very professional. If I needed anything he just told me to let him know, and I did, and he made it happen sticking true to his word. Johnny (sales manager) , Ricky, and Mandy(financing department) were nothing short of an amazing team! They all worked together keeping the customer (me) as the center of attention and helping in every way that they could. It was a low stress process comparatively speaking on what I had been dealing with through other dealerships that whole week. They worked with me and were so flexible, I still feel so blessed I got to go through this whole process with McCarthy Toyota of Sedalia. I'm very pleased and happy with the turn out and my vehicle. I'm still in contact with these guys and would recommend them to anyone that comes my way! Such great people who really do care, and it shows!

My wife and I went to this dealership to purchase a new truck, as we were needing to trade down to lower our overhead due to overwhelming medical bills. Our first encounter with Mr. Webb was over the phone when we called to see if he could help us with our situation. He said there was a very good chance of this happening for us. I told him that I could not come in for a couple of weeks due to the nature of my work. Since he could not understand what, " I will call you when I am able to come see you." means, He kept on calling me and even sending me e-mail videos to the point of distraction. When we finally did go to visit the dealership and Mr. Webb, we were treated very abruptly when they found out that they were not going to make a fast $5000.00 off of us. I can understand this dealerships need to make a profit, but come on, do you have to gouge us working folks so bad and then be abrupt when we are unable and unwilling to play your game? I wish you well, but I'm not going to let you into my wallet. My family is too important for that. Not only did you lose my sale, but you lost the sale of my two daughters who are looking for their first car.

We purchased a new vehicle by writing a check. We were not pleased that we had to sit and wait for over an hour for them to be able to make the transaction. There was a line of people needing assistance from the person who does the financing/takes the checks. Someone else should be trained to help in this area, instead of having only one person that can help in completing a transaction.Also, neither the sales person nor the sales manager gave us the correct information about the Toyota rebate when we talked to them, and when we signed the original purchase purchase form. They told us the rebate was $1500, when it actually was $2,000. That was caught by the person that took our check. I find that very poor that neither the sales manager nor the salesman knew the correct rebate amount!We also did not like the "game" they played when we made an offer, of coming back and telling us they needed to add additional fees, etc. I feel like they wasted our time and were simply inconsiderate, especially when they then changed their tune when we said we were not interested and then they accepted the offer--which was more generous than we probably should have made in the first place. We had a busy schedule that day and we did not feel like a valued customer. Our time was obviously not important to them.

Devin has got to be the most patient sales persons we've ever dealt with! He was courteous, understanding, professional and yet had a great sense of humor. We'd spoken (phone & email) with him several times before we went in and could tell he was definitely willing to help us eventhough our trade in was a 1989 Toyota 4WD truck. He made us feel good about our old truck and I can honestly say that is a first! We've lived in many different states and have dealt with many other dealers. This dealership has got to be the best as they really do care about their customers. They go above and beyond anything we've personally experienced before in making the whole buying/trading process totally convenient and enjoyable! We actually drove the new truck home that day which is something we've never had happen before with any vehicle we've ever purchased! The only reason we marked the price as "good" is because we wished we could have gotten more discounts but they did the best they could considering our trade, etc. We would HIGHLY recommend Devin and this dealership to everyone.

If you choose this dealer, ensure that what you verbally agree upon and what is in the paperwork are exactly matched...I reviewed the paperwork very carefully, and still missed something that was brought to my attention when I took the title to register the car. If you do not catch a mistake in the paperwork until later, it can cost you significant money and they will deny any verbal discussions you had, and refuse to work with you to fix it. This includes everyone from the internet sales manager, to the finance manager, to the general manager...and if you call to discuss the issue with them, they may just hang up on you. The only person who seemed to want to help me fix the problem was Vanessa Reed the sales associate, but once it went above her head the customer service went out the window. I recommend looking elsewhere for your vehicle purchase. It's not worth the money you will have to pay later.

Went to this dealership under the false pretense of trading in a used vehicle based upon their advertised $4K over Kelly Blue Book television/radio ad. Running a little late, called the dealership and informed sales rep, Dan Gilmore, that I'd be about an hour late. Upon arrival, was told that the add was solely used to draw in prospective customers, and that the dealership would not be able to provide me with a deal on trade. Sales rep could have indicated this prior to my arrival (45 mile trip), as I had previously emailed him on our car interests. Veterans beware, as I had pre-approved financing through USAA; never had a dealership treat me in this fashion and would certainly not recommend this dealership to anyone, including veterans.

Great to work with the employees, make you feel right at home, super friendly. I really loved that they did not try to push a purchase unto me and let me go out for a spin on my own. I'm one that hates pressure and clingy salespeople. So after having some mediocre experiences at car dealerships in bigger cities I decided to try it close to home and glad I did. They made it all about me and even stayed late! Overall, super satisfied and would definetly buy again from them and recommend to my friends and family.

This will be my third purchase at this store and as always will keep going back . Duane who has been there for years took great care of me again and got me a great deal on my new Camry . They have new owners but all the old staff seem to still be there including mark in service who also takes good care of me . I am a widow and don't want to worry about my car etc ...keep up the good work thanks .

Recently went in for service and ended up buying another Camry and trading our old one in. The store has a new owner but saw familiar faces in the service area then we saw Stuart who sold us our last one and he made our purchase easy again. Would recommend them again and glad they have kept all the staff .

seen a truck on line. asked for the price an they dropped it down more an give me a great deal for mt trade an a great loan at 4.8% im in kc mo an they made it more than worth the drive there. they went out of there way to make it a great deal with new tires oil change an the works. when I go for a car for the wife im going to go back to them. talk to greg or andy.

Incompetent or criminal? My parents bought two vehicles from this dealership and here is the story. On the first car they purchased (used Mercury Sable), when they went to insure it, the insurance company informed them that the car was not a LS as it was sold to them but that it was a GS (a cheaper model). The dealer claimed ignorance but I question why they didn't know, most dealers run car fax on a vehicles. The dealer appologized to my parents and returned a portion of the purchase price, making up the difference in the value of the two trim lines. My parents went back to purchase another vehicle from them a couple years later. They bought another program Mercury Sable. They had this vehicle for a couple years when they moved to Florida. They decided not to take it with them and ask me to sell it for them. A gentleman from KC liked the vehicle and wanted to buy it but found that the VIN on the title did not match the VIN on the vehicle. The potential buyer said that he had sold his vehicle and needed a vehicle soon. He would give us a couple days to fix the problem or he was going to have to find another car. When the dealership was confronted, the salesmanager stated mistakes happen, what do you want us to do about it. I asked if they would buy it back for the price the individual was willing to pay and he said no, do you think we are stupid. I said that I expected them to make their mistake right. They did find their mistake, there was another poor lady that had the wrong title for her car. They turned in for a re-issue of the title. When my mother, upset at this point (I think most people would be and had reason to be), told the GM that she had lost the sale, he said that it was a mistake and that he had done all they were going to do. Out of frustration, my mother told him that she should have gotten a lawyer to take care of their problem. The GM's answer was go ahead and get a lawyer lady, do that and you will never get the title. At the same time this was going on, I had my RAV4 in the shop trying to find a leak in the windshield, a leak that occured every time it rained. They could not find it and said it was the AC that had leaked not the windshield. I stated to them that it only happened when it rained and their reply was that they sprayed water on the windshield and no leak. They refused to do anything else. Toyota paid to (not)fix that issue. The windsheild still leaks when there is a heavy rain but now toyota refuses to fix it as it is out of warrenty. This dealership should be avoided. As I stated to start this review, Incompetent or Criminal? Why take a chance and does it really matter, there are other dealers!
