Bryan Aquino is very responsible and great to work with. I have asked him to prepare all the paperwork before we get there that way we don’t have to spend a lot of time in the dealer. It took us less than 30 minutes to get in and out there. He very respectful and professional. If you ever go to mini/ bmw Escondido make sure you work with him if you want a painless experience. Great job Brian

Great experience! Derek was very helpful and polite. Moby in finance was fast and efficient. First car purchase that I left the dealers office in a reasonable amount of time and not feeling like I had been totally bullied and broken by over zealous sales and finance people. Thank you BMW Escondido for a job well done!

Best car buying experience of my lifetime. Derek Quin was pleasant, personable as the perfect sales person. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Trade-in value was fair for my jeep. And Jeannie Thomas in the finance department, didn’t try too hard - sell me a lot of things that I really don’t need. She did note that I drove very few miles per year on my trade-in. And that I may not need some of the extra insurance. I was very thankful and appreciative. Plus, Derek and Jeannie have a great personality and are fun to work with. I shall return for service and my next Mini.

Rod was helping my wife and I during our search for a new Clubman or Countryman. His knowledge and patience was definitely appreciated. We drove the all the trim levels of the Clubman and Countryman. We were also looking at the Fiat 500. After Rod's presentation we decided to forego the Fiat and moved inside to work some numbers on the MINI Clubman S. Unfortunately, we could not commit to the MINI price points. The amount of car was not justifiable for the price. Rod is a great sales agent none the less!

Let's face it, when you need an oil change or routine maintenance any local dealership will do BUT when you actually need anything major repaired this is not the recommended STOP! Let just say that I saved a weeks forth of salary by towing my 2.5 year old car to MINI of San Diego to have the engine replaced. If money is no object this is your place, working middle class BEWARE! They inform you of nothing and explain even less, yes this is possible. I was never unprofessional and discourteous with Allison or James Baumer the service manager and when I decided to take it down south to save $$ my service advisor NEVER acknowledged me! So rude and uncomfortable that it reassured my lack of trust here and so grateful I went with my gut feeling to get it out of there.... This location has a lot to learn about customer service and expectations.

These people are crooks. They tricked me into buying some additional features by telling me they were mandatory. I went home and read the fine print over again and realized the items were actually optional. It's technically my fault for signing the papers, but the saleswoman Iyesha sat there and told me multiple times that the features were absolutely mandatory. Lies!!!

Rod, Victor, Amanda, and the rest of the staff were just wonderful. They were all very friendly and addressed my questions and concerns in a professional and polite manner. I especially appreciated all the help Rod Johnson was, took care of me and my husband like we were family. Will definitely be coming back for another car in a year or so.

Went to take my MINI in for servicing. Brandon Martinez is one of the BEST advisers at the MINI service center. He answered all of my questions and was courteous to me. He was up front and honest with the his answers. I would only COME to this mini servicing because of Brandon. Go visit him!!

By far the worst-run service department I have ever experienced. Service staff was extremely rude and surly. Mr. Martinez apparently thinks that it is proper to shout to a customer from across a crowded room, and then when questioned on his poor behavior, gets even ruder (if that's possible) and walks out of the room refusing to state when my car would be ready. So abysmal was his manners, that it actually took me threatening the General Manager with calling to Escondido Police to get my car. Come to find out, the car was ready, they had not completed the paperwork and apparently did not feel like doing it when I was there. I'll be taking this matter up with BMW and Mini and would never take my car there again.

I originally went to the Mini Dealership in Kearny Mesa. That was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The sales associate was rude and unfriendly, left us out in the rain (literally, it was raining that day) said he would be right back and never came back. We were so upset with the service we drove half an hour away to Escondido Mini. We called them ahead of time and asked if there was someone we could speak to that could answer all of our questions because we have already had a bad experience. as soon as we got there we were greeted at the door and directed to Amanda Perez who was so friendly and personable! This would be the first car we are purchasing on our own and is a very scary and big deal for us. She answered EVERY question we had and answered questions that we didn't even think to ask. She explained everything to us and didn't pressure us to buy anything. My dad had suggested using Costco auto save program and unfortunately Escondido wasn't part of the program but only Kearny Mesa. We thought that we would try and give Kearny Mesa another chance because their price through Costco was cheaper but let me tell you..that was a HUGE mistake. Amanda had kept contact with us via e-mail and when she heard about our situation she immediately asked her manager if there was anything they could do for us. they gave us a very great quote. Unfortunately when we got the e-mail from her we were already speaking to the sales person at Kearny Mesa. he was friendly enough but VERY pushy. we wanted the cold weather package because we might move to the east coast and he made a comment that we don't need that and we should purchase the car we test drove which had premium everything and would have cost us a lot more. he pretty much tried to rush everything and everything happened so fast. next thing i know he's asking me for my card so he can put in the deposit. when my boyfriend crunched the numbers (which by the way he didn't go over anything with us) the price that Amanda quoted us was significantly cheaper than what Kearny mesa was going to sell us the car for even WITH the Costco discount!! I called Amanda and she was really helpful and told us that if we don't feel comfortable that it is OK to stop the process. When we told the sales associate that we wanted to wait, he became mean very quickly. he started shuffling/tossing the papers at us and became VERY rude. we didn't know what to tell him so we said that my dad wanted us to wait. He then said that he knows more than my dad, that we would have to branch out from our parents some time and "hey maybe your dad knows something that i don't, i doubt it since we are the only dealership that does Costco but you can waste your time and drive all around. go ahead and call all of the dealerships." at that point i KNEW we made the right decision to stop business with them. we apologized for wasting his time but it was amazing how shady he was. so quick to change from polite to rude and condescending. Keep in mind this was my first car buying experience and he was not making it a good experience for us. we pretty much ran out the door, tore up his business card and drove 30 minutes to Escondido. We were welcomed by Amanda and her manager who apologized on behalf of Mini for our terrible experiences with Kearny Mesa. I can't tell you enough how terrible it was over there!!! Amanda made everything so much better! She explained EVERYTHING! she went through all of the paperwork, ran my credit report right then and got me the information i needed (which the Kearny Mesa guy said that he won't know anything until later) and broke everything down for us and really explained everything. She even suggested to shop around at other loan places (credit union and my bank) just in case they can't give us the best deal. She even gave me suggestions on which auto insurance to look into. She didn't push anything that we didn't want and would triple check everything with us. THEN she calls me at home to tell me that I do not need a cosigner on the loan and I can buy this car on my own and congratulated me. Every concern I had washed away with Escondido Mini. I can't tell you enough how awesome they are! Everyone..and i mean EVERYONE there is so friendly and would greet us. Do you know how many people greeted us at Kearny Mesa both times? one. ONE PERSON. I was SO happy with everything that I even gave Amanda a hug! Yes Kearny Mesa's Mini dealership is cute with their fancy building but looks are deceiving. If you want great customer service and a great car buying experience overall, go to Escondido! Ask for Amanda, she was great!!! (But I'm sure everyone that works at Escondido is amazing!) Thank you Amanda and the whole Mini Escondido team. You guys really made this experience a great one.. I can't thank you guys enough!!!

My experiance with Brecht Mini service center has been exceptional! When I arrive I am greeted professionally by someone and my car door is opened for me every time; this may seem minor but this small action stands out when compared to other service centers. My service advisor(s) are always pleasant and friendly; one of the advisors even suggested a great resturant for lunch and then offered to print me directions as well. My service is always thorough and so far I haven't had to pay a dime because the service plan is so great. Both Brandon and Brian have been excelent and a pleasure to work with!

I call my Service Advisor, Brian Sanford, the friendliest and the most knowledgeable service advisor. His approach is personalized, my husband and I felt like he is a member of our family. He lets me know ahead of time when my next service is due and what it would entail, no guesswork. I could even ask him for an approximate cost, so no surprises.I feel that Brian is well liked by his peers. In one of my visits, Brian happened to be off, however, another service advisor assisted me as if I were his own.I could go on and on and on about Brian. We live in the South Bay area and could have gone to another Mini dealership for service, but we do not mind driving all the way to Escondido to have my Mini Cooper serviced. It is all because of Brian Sanford. Our experience with him is THE BEST BAR NONE!

I will be back when I need more help and Brian is the one I want to deal with. Thanks again Brian, you ROCK!

He was rude, unhelpful, very "used car salesy", etc.He rushed me.They pulled the old "bait and switch" tactic.Agreed on a car. Agreed on a price.Oh, wait, the car is sold, you can purchase a 2011 - just order what you want.if I wanted to do that, I would have waited until the end of the year.My advice, go to another dealership. This place is a joke!UPDATE...8/25/10I received a call from Jeremy (sales manager). He was very apologetic over Mike/Mark and offered several options for the purchase of a 2010 Mini Cooper.I appreciated his follow-up and follow through with me.

After a few months of nagging, I finally got my wife to agree to go test drive the cars that we were considering. About 10 years ago I got her to step into a dealership and that experience left us buying used cars from friends for the past decade, pushy sales person, constantly leaving to "check with the sales manager," eventually my wife was crying, I was angry, the salesperson was telling us "Thanks for wasting his time" etc.... In contrast, our experience with Brecht Mini and Mike Davis was amazing. We were about 75% decided on the Mini Clubman, but had Acura, Audi and BMW on the list. We had to bring the kids with us (6 and 3 year old boys.) We were not expecting a good day. We drove onto the Mini lot, met Mike, and after an hour or so of switching kids in and out, switching drivers, trying the Cooper S vs. the non-S, we left the lot to go drive the other cars on our list without feeling pressured in the slightest. Not only was there no slick talk, wheeling and dealing, but we actually enjoyed the time that we had spent with Mike. We were surprised at how much we liked the Audi A3 TDI that we drove later in the day, took several days to sleep on it, and decided to go with the Mini Clubman Cooper S from Mike. We would have been happy with either car, but the combination of the car and the experience that we had with Mike made our decision to go with the Mini. Once we had completed the sale, Mike went through the car with us like he had designed the thing himself. He knew EVERYTHING about this car and patiently explained as much as we wanted to hear. I would certainly recommend Brecht Mini and Mike Davis for anyone considering buying a Mini.

I had an excellent experience with Brecht when buying my new Clubman. I was buying at the beginning of the new model year (2010) and, because of that, my price actually went down between when the order was placed and when it was accepted at the factory. I also got a few new model year upgrades at no cost, which was a nice plus. I realize this would probably have happened anyway (since they came from over the dealer's head) but I appreciate that they let me know and didn't try to talk me into more to make up the difference. My MA was terrific, always responded to emails promptly, and took care of everything I asked. It sounds like people have had trouble with the service department, and since I haven't had to bring my car in to date, I can't comment on that. But I can state the the actual buying experience at Brecht, and Rod in particular, was terrific.

there's nothing i dread more than buying a new car, but have to admit i've finally found a dealership and a salesman that i truly trust, and will definitely go back to everytime my family needs a new car. jim wolleson is not only a true professional, he's got a sense of character and honesty about him that is typically not found in the "car dealer" industry. i know there can sometimes be a stigma attached to car salesman, but now i know that is just a stereotype and nothing else. jim is someone i would be friends with outside of the dealership.brecht mini was also a pleasure to deal with on follow up visits to the service dept., too.highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new car....not just a mini either.

My initial experiences with this dealership were positive, so when both of my Mini's needed servicing, I scheduled the appointments back to back with Brecht's service shop. My new Mini had less than 4,000 miles and the water pump was going bad. I took it in for a 7:00 a.m. appointment, but they did not even look at it until 11:30 a.m. and never had the courtesy to let me know the status, even though I was waiting in the customer lounge. I had to seek Brian out just to find out (and over hear) that the car would not be looked at until 11:30 a.m. I did not get a call about the status until 3:00 p.m. when they told me I could pick it up, but I had to get there by 4:00 p.m. Seeing that I live about an hour away, it was cutting it close, but I tried to get down there. Half way to the dealership on the I-15, there was a fatality accident and I called to let Brian know I would be late. Brian did not try to make any accomodation to allow me to pick up the car, even though I was half-way there. I had to turn around once the traffic cleared up for a total waste of time and gas. Two days later I took my second Mini in for brake pads and a look at my clutch. When I explained the problem with the clutch, I was promptly informed by Brian Sanford in an accusatory manner that any evidence of customer neglect/abuse would not be honored under warranty. Of course, that is understood, but since I take very good care of my Mini, his accusation was unnecessary and offensive, especially since I have regularly taken my car in to Brecht for servicing. If they were to find evidence of customer neglect/abuse, then they should bring this up. Not only did I have to hear this "speech" when I dropped it off, but later over the phone twice, again to me and once to my spouse. They determined it was the cable and said they would call me back the next morning after they test drove it. We never got the call back. We had to call several times the next day to find out the status, but it wasn't ready to pick up for another day. In all, I dropped off the car on a Tuesday, and it wasn't finished until Thursday afternoon. If it wasn't for our constant checking about the car's status, I don't know if it would have been ready even then. After they had told my spouse it was the cable, they later came back and said that the clutch cylinder was leaking. We asked for the old parts, but we were not provided with the parts, and after waiting for an hour, I left. No one ever acknowledged their lack of responsiveness or apologized for the accusations about customer neglect/abuse regarding the clutch. I provided my negative feedback on their customer service survey and I received a call on my home answering machine from Brian, when I had indicated that I should be contacted by cell phone. I eventually spoke with James Baumer, the Service Manager. He was completely uninterested in what I had to say and unaccountable for the actions of the service team. My "Brecht Mini experience" would have offended any reasonable person.

I wonder why there is no choice for a ZERO rating for a dealer like Brecht.I took my car for few repairs and a strange issue of black soot like deposits on my pepper white mini. The service advisor told me that they will contact a sales engineer from Mini customer relations and will get back to me. In the mean time they will just clean the car thoroughly to get those deposits off and asked me to drive it and see if the deposits come back. 1. The deposits didn't even come off completely, 2. They did come back within 15 days.3. When I went to pick up the car, I noticed that while cleaning the car, they also made scratches on the driver side door (which is what I was afraid of given the stubborn deposits) and the service advisor agreed to the scratches which were not on the car before Brecht cleaned it. She said I should go ahead and drive it and come back to them for a pending issue of tire replacement which is when they will take care of everything at the same time. Also, they would have heard back from the Mini Sales Engineer by then.Note that they dont give you a loaner if you didnt buy your car from them. I do understand that providing a loaner is a courtesy service from the dealer and therefore, I asked them is there a way I can get Brecht to be my primary dealer since Brecht is my only option for the closest dealership in the San Diego area. I also told them that I did want to buy my car in the first place from Brecht but that time they were not selling convertibles (only hard tops) and that's why I had to go to another dealer. The service advisor told me if I keep coming to them, I will get the loaner previlages. Brecht is itself about 40 miles from the metro city and the closest car rental which is enterprise is swamped due to lack of staff as well as cars. Had already wasted two hours at that car rental during this visit. So, when the paint deposits came back and when the few issues which Brecht fixed during my first visit also came back (service engine light, gas cap light, coolant leak, brake pads), I went back to Brecht after a long wait for a loaner (month and a half). They said they still haven't heard from the Mini customer relations and this time all they did was take pictures of those deposits and said they will call me in a week. I had other service issues in addition to the above, such as bad regulator for window glasses and yet another thing that Brecht had already fixed earlier for me regarding the compressor. The service advisor assigned to me - Brian, didn't wait for me to tell him what services are required and just called the body shop specialist and dissed me for another customer without a word. I kept waiting for him after talking to the body shop specialist. When I finally found him inside, he didn't even bother to acknowledge that he is supposed to clear me first before just going about his other business but just said, "I will tell you what, why don't you bring your car back once we have heard back from Mini customer relations and we can take care of all the issues at the same time." wasted yet another two hours and gallons of gas to hear this. I didn't get any call from Brecht as they had promised, so I called Brian after 3 weeks, and he said yes we have actually heard from the mini customer assistance and they have said they cant do anything about it. I just have to keep cleaning my car. I reminded him about what happened when they cleaned my car earlier, made scratches and thats what will continue to happen more and more, besides Brecht still has to fix those scratches for me regardless, and he said at this point I will just have to talk to Mini customer relations. So I called Mini customer relations and they told me that they will contact the service Manager at Brecht mini and get back to me. The service Manager James Baumer told Mini that he would be happy to look at my car and work with me on the paint issue but at MY cost. Mini customer relations clarified to me that since the deposits are not seen as paint defect, it won't be covered under warranty. I asked them about the scratches that resulted from the dealer trying to get rid of the deposits has made on my car while cleaning it and they said they will make sure to call the dealership and speak to them about it again.I get a call back from Mini in 24 hours and they said that James Baumer - Brecht Mini service manager will call me on this. When James called me, I explained to him the scratches issue, told him that his service advisors Stacey and the Body shop specialist Ralf have acknowledged that these scratches are due to cleaning, but all I heard from James was that he would like me to set up an appointment to bring my car in so he can look at it. He won't guarantee fixing any scratches and won't be able to provide me a loaner. I told him I don't see a point in driving all the way there for him to just tell me they can't do anything about it. I asked him to
