Go to different location. I highly NOT recommended go to Mini of Tempe. Also if you want some Mini free gift , don’t forget before you sign up all the documents. After sign up, suddenly store doesn’t have any free gift for you. Too late!!! Even I wasn’t comfortable at the Mini of Tempe with all the people who doesn’t like us, I still purchase a car. After sign up all documents, They are treat you nothing. We was had great experience at the Philadelphia Mini store, so I was expecting we are the Repeat customers,get better service. I was wrong at the Mini of Tempe. This was bad experience shopping in my life.

They don't listen. I find myself wondering why I bother returning. Every time I leave the facility I am irate. I can ask for an estimate or diagnostics MULTIPLE times and it's NEVER addressed. Poor communication all around. If the customer lists A, B and C as issues... you take note and you address them. You don't ignore the client and not enter it into the notes. Good notes makes for better diagnostics. (Don't get me started on their poor diagnostics. They couldn't keep track of which bulb was in which headlight.) I ended up leaving them this time with MORE issues than I had arrived with. Makes you wonder...Never again.At one point I needed ac fixed and an oil leak. I was quoted well and above my budget and had to regrettably go without AC through the hottest 2 months in AZ. That same night the representative texted me and ask me how much I could afford...like the price was suddenly negotiable. Seriously?

If you like spending $850.00 to repair a window that won't go up or down this is the place for you. Was charged $450.00 by Steve to diagnose a clutch issue, then called a told it would cost $2400.00 to fully complete the repair. I said xxxx no .Went around the block and bought a new Fiat and traded in the Mini.Would never buy another Mini Cooper especially from Mini of Tempe.

Incredibly unprofessional. Beware of Wally Cahill. He comes off as a friendly guy but will take advantage of you if given the opportunity. Don't fall for their "mandatory" LoJack scam add-on for $525. Hint: it's not mandatory no matter what lies he tells you. He got angry claiming they were losing $700 on the deal. Another blatant lie. Once the deal was signed, he turned around, red in the face, and walked away without another word. I could go on and on; just proceed with caution if you must. Remember, he's a car salesman and will say anything to get the deal done.

When we dropped off the Mini after our lease was up the experience was like a " bad break up" . They went over the car with a fine tooth and comb ( which was to be expected). There was no hand shake or introduction . We did not get a thank you at the end of the process, they just walked away . The Mini was fun while we had it! But needed something bigger.

I went to Mini of Tempe for a simple fix of a lightbulb. Its taken the service department four days to try and figure out how to fix the light. Really? Its a lightbulb... The first day i brought it in i was told it would be any easy fix and would only take an hour. As other guests brought there vehicles in for maintenance, i waited patiently for an update on my vehicle while i sat in the lobby. I noticed 2 others who had received an update on the status of their vehicle as i i still waited without any info on what was happening on my vehicle. Over two hours later they finally informed me that they located the problem and would have to hold my vehicle over night because they didn't have the part to make the repair. I understood the situation and they were kind enough to give me a loner vehicle. The next morning they gave me a call that my vehicle was fixed and ready to go. I headed over to the dealership shortly after to retrieve my vehicle and pay for a very expensive fix for a lightbulb. I inspected the vehicle and the light was working. I drove it home and once i arrived i decided to check it again and noticed my fog light was flickering and shortly after my headlight went out again. With a little disappointment and frustration i called the dealership back and they asked me to bring in back in. So i drove back there to give them my vehicle to look over once again without even an apology they took my vehicle to diagnose the problem. The next day they called me back and have the nerve to tell me that they found the problem and that i was a bad lightbulb. They didn't have the bulb for my vehicle in stock yet the knew that it was a bad lightbulb...I informed them that i have a brand-new lightbulb in the passenger door of my car that they can install if they feel that that is the problem. I also mentioned to them though that i know its not a bad lightbulb because the fog light and the headlight were flickering and then both went out. I'm no pro but it sounds like a wiring issue to me. All in all it doesn't seem like they know what the problem is and they are just replacing random things until the problem is fixed. Aren't these trained professionals? Should they know how to fix a simple light problem. If i wanted to play the guessing game i would have tried to do the repair myself. Terrible and unprofessional and extreamly disappointed in the professional work i was expecting to receive.

I'm not sure what is going on with the service department at Mini of Tempe lately, but I have received a complete lack of customer service and follow through from their service consultants. I have been dealing with trying to get my windshield replaced under warranty for over a month. The first response was "we don't replace windshields under warranty", my reply "you don't replace defective parts?" Their response was to have me call Penske glass and have them look at it.... Ok...and then what? So after I nudged them in the right direction they finally sent Penske glass over to our house assess the damage. Once the technician looked it over he agreed that it was a stress crack and would pass on the information to Mini. Fast forward 8 days later, on Saturday morning, I finally received a call from service saying they were going to replace the windshield under warranty and would check with the glass company to schedule a mobile repair. It's now Wednesday at 10:00am, still no call. I called the service department and got and I'm sorry I'll have Penske call you to schedule the repair. The following Monday morning I finally receive a call to schedule an appt., said they would call back to confirm. No call back, called to confirm, said they were waiting on Mini to provide them with a repair order number and the service consultant who had been helping me was out for the week. Long story short, made one more phone call to Mini and Josh stepped up and took care of it. The windshield is supposed to be replaced tomorrow. It's pretty sad, as the customer, I had to bird-dog the whole process while being treated as if my problem was insignificant.

I recently paid a visit tomTempe Mini for service on my certified pre owned 2010 MINI S. with 40k miles. On my 1st oil change I found that the bolt securing the radiator overflow was broken, either by the previous owner or whomever changed the oil last. When I arrived the service advisor informed me of a campaign involving the installation of a turbo heat-shield and that my brake fluid required change. The service advisor told me he would have the tech look at the broken bolt, but he wasn't sure what the fix would be. Upon my return and inspection of the vehicle, I was not at all happy with how the damaged bolt was remedied. The service advisor told me that any other fix wouldn't be covered by warranty and unfortunately the remedy I was looking for would required much more than just replacing the bolt. he told me that with parts and labor the cost would near $1000!!! Needless to say I was not happy with a warranty good until late 2016. I expressed my unhappiness in an email and was contacted the following morning and advised of a meeting with the shop Forman. When I arrived, not only did I have the complete attention of the forman, but also the service manager. They were truly empathic and assured me I would be taken care of, and I was. I was immediately provided a loaner vehicle and 5 hours later my vehicle was repaired to my complete satisfaction! In addition, they noticed one of my windshield wipers was missing a portion of the shroud which they replaced for free. I sing your praises! I truly appreciate the Shop Forman and the Service Manager, they went out of there way to value their customer. Thank You

Recently my wife had to bring her car in for service and was greeted by Doug O Donnell our service advisor he is extremely courteous and professional and explained what was to be done on our car. While waiting we were greeted by Earl Miller the service manager who checked that everything was going ok and updated us on the progress of our repair as did Doug .After the car repair was done we were informed by Rob Jones who is the service technican who did the work on our vehicle and explained all was good to go and what he did.Before leaving I went to the parts dept to buy my wife a gift mini related and was helped by Fernando Diaz the parts coordinator who is very knowledgeable and friendly and got the correct item I wanted.This dealership is very accommodating and go far above to help there customers and make sure you are treated like a part of there family.

Dropped it off w/o a chip on the windshield and told me it was before service. Really? Did a customer walk around without the customer? It doesn't make any sense. Is it a cheap fix? yes but the chip was not there when the car was droped off. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER!

March 4, 2013, Mini of Tempe were all smiles and lies. I even wrote a review below to try to make them look good even though in my heart I would never take my car back to them. I was already told by other dealers that the up-sale in fuel injector cleaner was a common ploy of dealerships. I didn't have to tell them how the car reacted. Car experts told me verbatim what happened to my car because they said it is a story they hear over and over. That being said I wanted to give an update. The dealer promised to refund me the approximately $200 out of the $2,600 I spent to cover the needless fuel injector cleaner. My car's engine was almost destroyed by the sleezy service. It is now April 28, 2013 and there is no check in the mail and Mini of Tempe now is sending my advertisements to bring my car in for more pilfering. In short...THEY LIED! Putting that aside for a moment lets see how my car is doing since their botched service. My car run OKAY and that's it....OKAY. As soon as I can get it up to my Mini dealer of three and a half years, Northwest Mini, Tacoma, I will let them fix it. The car still struggles sometimes to catch its breath. I don't trust the replaced gasket they forgot to put on after the fuel injector service and have zero confidence in their credibility to do the right thing.

This place is as bad or worse than their sister shop in Scottsdale, they act like they are doing you a favor by selling you a MINI. I cant wait until the new Tucson branch opens next week, I hope they really take over the buisness. I you need a great MINI and a huge selection go to Cali or Vegas, thay have twice the choice at a LOT better price on the wallet.

After posting my review concerning Mini of Tempe and asking it be retracted I was told by Cars.com they could not remove the review: "How to Ruin A Perfectly Good Car." I was advised to send an update so here it is. Derrick Carter realized my anger was more about trust and so he went overboard to gain it back. Even though his first attempts to get a refund for the service of fuel injector cleaning failed based on the dismissive attitude of the weekday service manager. Derrick stuck his neck on the line and asked the general manager working on the weekend, Michelle Petrenko. His argument for taking responsibility for the flawed gasket got me a refund for the service. I was not being greedy. I spent $2600 for everything and was only asking for $195 back. The next thing Derrick did was test drive the car everyday and take it home at night and drive it to work. Basically putting the car through a normal routine to see if it was truly fixed. Then he contacted me and drove three hours south to deliver my car with a topped of gas tank. Of course I was skeptical and waiting for a rattling car or any hint there had been a patch job. He got in the Mini with me and we went for a test drive. I GOT MY CAR BACK! My mini was back to the high whizzing purr and idled nicely. Of course I couldn't give Mini of Tempe 5-stars for quality of repairs due to the gasket error but I did retract my negative customer service rating because even though there was an immense time lag from personnel calling with reassuring words...I do believe once they heard my concerns and argument for fairness they stepped their efforts to gain back my trust. That being said, I hope others will give them a chance but I also expect Mini of Tempe to continue the service experience I received at the end of the week long ordeal. Thank you Derrick for making amends.

I have had the most horrific experience at the Mini of Tempe Service Department. I took my 2006 Mini Cooper for its annual oil change and check up upon arriving from Seattle for the first time on 08 February 2013. That check up came with six recommendations: Fuel Filter, Fuel Injection Flush, Oil Pan Gasket, Crank Sensor O-ring and Dipstick Tube O-ring, Lower Control Army Bushings and Alignment...Cost: $2600 I wasn't even officially signed into my new address located three hours south of Tempe and made an appointment for 25 February 2013, 7:00 am to have all of the recommendations done. The condition of my Mini Cooper before the repairs was one of top performer with no concerns whatsoever. The only dealer who serviced the car prior to visiting Tempe was Northwest Mini, WA. I arrived at the dealer at 7:08 on 25 Feb. and the service department was not open. The staff were all in the shop but they did not open on time and I became confused and thought I got the time wrong. The staff behind the glass doors would not acknowledge me with a smile or a "wait just a minute" look and proceeded to continue to walk around the service area with no acknowledgement of a customer standing at the door. I went back to my car to call the service department and speak with the personnel when someone approached my car. They seemed annoyed with me for being on time and asked what did I want. They finally let me in but at the service desk, Derrick Carter, Service Rep had no idea why I was there for service even though he was the one who made all of those expensive recommendations. The staff did not greet me with any type of welcoming smile or good morning. In order to get to my appointment on time I had to get up at 3:00 am and be on the road by 4:00 am because I was coming from Sierra Vista. I believed in Mini dealerships and their service before this experience and trusted their expertise. By 1:30 pm I got my car back. The car was returned to me not with the usual explanation of services rendered I was used to from Northwest Mini. Derrick had no interaction with the customer during payment and did not thank me for my business. These flaws in customer service are minor in comparison to the condition of the car upon its return to the customer. I got in the car and it was shaking and sputtering. I figured it was fuel injection cleaner and drove locally to do errands. The shaking turned to violence. The car began to lurch and idle very roughly. The sounds from the engine were gasps...very loud gasps. The RPM gauge needle was moving up and down vigorously with every gasp of air the car struggled to take. I finally called the dealer who advised I bring the car back immediately. I didn't know if I would make it back. The "check engine" light began flashing and the service lamp remained on. I was trying to hold back the tears. My Mini was dying. Derrick's diagnosis: Bad coil wire to engine causing misfire and possible bad distributor. An hour and half later car is returned and I am about to start a 3-hour drive south. I don't make it three blocks and the car is shaking and struggling to stay conscious. I bring it back and by now it is after 5:00 pm. I am exhausted and have been at the dealer since seven that morning. Derrick takes the car and I am given a loaner because I know I will be stranded on the side of the road with the state of the car. I have never spent $2600 dollars on a car and received it back worse than it was before it went in. Two days pass and Mini of Tempe doesn't even call. They had my car for a week and at no time did they call me to reassure me the car would be okay. I had to call them for updates. I believe they had lost faith in the repairs done to the car. The service department put a gasket back on the car wrong during the fuel injection flush and the cleaner they used was so strong that it left pockets of residue in the lines stalling out the car. My experience with this dealership was just outstanding. I was looking into buying a 2012 Mustang GT and I found it here. The price was great, much lower than other places, and they approved me right away. I drove from Texas to this place and when I arrived the salesman was already waiting for me. They brought me the car right away for a test drive and started the paper work right after. I was in and out of that place withing 90 minutes. My experience at Mini of Tempe was enjoyable. The sales staff, Justin Leininger was very helpful and answered all of my questions. When it came time to negotiate the sale price, the Sale Manager was willing to work with me on a price I thought was honest and fair. The Finance Manager, Chris Bartlit was also helpful in getting all of the documentation filled out that made this purchase very comfortable and easy to handle. I own a 2008 Mini Cooper with 19,000 miles. I have had to visit this dealer for service numerous times. Every time I visit they forget to complete work, due a poor job of completing the work and I have to return my vehicle a second time. Most times I have to leave it more than one day even though I have scheduled an appointment. The Service Advisor is a nice guy but often forgets to check if the work has been completed satisfactorily. Where are the quality checks? Who does them?The most recent visit (4/9), he suggested an oil change (upsell) and then forgot to add it to the work order. My car has been in their shop 3 days (work scheduled Monday, needed parts, needed to keep car one more day, when I arrived yesterday, work was unsatisfactory (bumper had gaps) and oil change was missed, needed to order parts again, one more day car is at the dealership--3 days total). Earl Miller initially indicated "It is the best I can do".When I told the Service Advisor about how many issues I have had with my Mini and how concerning it is, he stated "That is why I own a Toyota". What? Really? I am ready to get rid of my mini cooper just because I cannot get satisfactory service at this dealership. Totally unacceptable.

Every part of my evaluation and purchase experience at MINI of Tempe was super. I had searched online for the MINI I wanted for six weeks and found one there in Tempe. My salesman Smitty was very helpful in supplying extra information about the car and an honest summary of the condition. My business partner was in Phoenix that weekend and was able to see and drive the car to report back to me. When I decided to pull the trigger and purchase it, the process was clear and easy to conduct-including a refundable deposit. I flew to Phoenix with my wife three days later, was picked up by Smitty at the airport and found the car prepped and ready to go when we got to the dealership. We made the 1000 mile drive home a three day adventure -the car was flawless. All in all a very good experience to associate with my MINI as I drive it from here on out-good karma!

I made three visits to MINI of Tempe before I bought one. I had to drive a new one; then I had to drive a used one; and then I needed to bring my wife in to see the one I chose and take a ride in it. In each instance, I worked with Justin Leininger, and hands down, he is the most pleasant and knowledgeable salesman that I have ever worked with. This is the first car that I've bought in the last 10 years, and I was prepared to engage in the traditional, "in-your-face confrontational" negotiation process that had always been the norm for car purchases, but at MINI of Tempe, none of that happened. The whole car buying experience with MINI of Tempe was pretty unique and it was totally hassle-free. As I mentioned above, I came in three separate times for the test drives, and Justin arranged them all. When I came in to make the deal, Justin was the one who did the initial appraisal on my trade-in. When I made the offer, Justin took it to the sales manager, and came back with a reasonable counter offer. After a minor adjustment on their counter offer, the deal was done. Until it came time to sign the purchase agreement and write the check, Justin was the ONLY person at MINI of Tempe that I dealt with. There was none of the old-time "salesman / sales manager" switcheroo.If you're looking for a MINI, I highly recommend MINI of Tempe. Ask for Justin Leininger.

The last person I'd like to highlight is Doug O'Donnell. By far, I've had more dealings with Doug than with any other employee and in my eyes, Doug is the face of MINI of Tempe. I can honestly say that I have never received such courteous, consistent and thorough attention from anyone in any industry. Doug has proven time and time again to be sincere, honest and knowledgeable. When Doug says that he will do something, I know that I can check it off of my list because it will be done accurately, with attention to detail and in a timely manner (his follow-up skills are just icing on the cake). I came in LOOKING for a new car - needing one. Cindy showed me cars in my price range, no big deal there. Next she inquired about my current lease. An hour later (after explaining what she meant) she "bought" my near-to-end RDX, paid off the balance to Honda Finance and used the balance as the down payment on the Mini. I avoided the hassle of the lease turn in - I just gave her the keys to the Acura and she handed me the keys to the Mini, several thousand dollars cheaper (and MUCH easier) than it would have been otherwise.Cindy's job is to make Customers satisfied while selling cars. I hope Tempe Mini appreciates the real value they have in this individual. She accomplished everything Penske expects from her, saved me hours of hassle in the whole lease end horror and put me in a car I absolutely love. She was even nice enough to explain the weird Comfort Access system again the next day. You couldn't ask for anything more. From a dealer or a salesperson.In this case both earn a 6 from me.

We have purchased 7 vehicles, of various types, over the last 7 years. Last weekend, we visited Don Hull at Mini of Tempe. I gave this dealership 5's because they were very friendly, knowledabale and efficient. I was able to make an appointment the same day as the issue I had. They contacted the insurance provider for me and took care of all related paperwork. They gave me a loaner car that was of equal quality of my own. The dealership is clean and well managed. I had some concerns about getting into a John Cooper Works Mini and trading in my previous Cooper S. They took care of all of my concerns and did so in a timely manner. Wonderful service and such helpful staff!!!! I brought my Mini for a minor issue--and they ended up giving the entire car a checkup and went above and beyond in helping me out. Most of all they were nice! Derek even remembered me over a month later when I called.Customer service was quick and helpful. When I picked up my Mini at the end of the scheduled time, it was ready and cleaned and the oil was changed and everything. I only had to work with one individual--Derek--and he was just great. The price was good--and I'm getting my tinting done there now, too, because they just do quality work. I trust them.
