I had a good experience with Nemer service yesterday. It was a fairly simple straightforward service, but it the good service part included the following: First of all I paid exactly what I was told I would pay when I made the appointment and that price was less than what I would have paid at Wal-Mart (it was a simple service so I did shop around). Second, I waited at the dealership and everyone was friendly and kind. I was even offered water. Third, I left something valuable at the dealership and they called me to tell me I left it and to arrange for me to come get it. I was very happy with the service. As a single woman who knows little about cars I really appreciate the honesty, kindness and trustworthiness they have shown.

I went to Nemer VW for a simple State Inspection; nothing else. It seems the service staff can't handle the simplest of tasks. They did not clean the adhesive off of the old inspection sticker; prior to applying the new sticker. They did not remove the electronic reminder to "get an inspection" on my vehicle. If I schedule my time and pay for a service; I just ask that you provide quality work and complete a job.

I contacted an employee at Nemer and requested to test drive a specific vehicle. I had my five year old in tow so I asked if they could have it ready to go when we got there. I walked in and was greeted with a key and a salesman. Allen treated us more like friends than a commission. He was able to answer any questions I had and then some. After we decided on a vehicle and started some paperwork he saw that my daughter was getting a little restless and offered us a gift card to Applebee’s so we could get out for a few and have a snack while they detailed the car and did things on their end. When we got back he managed to wrangle some balloons for her which really helped win her over. My daughter loved him and even asked for me to take her picture with him before we left. All of the employees were awesome. Everyone, especially Allen, made what could have been a really long, miserable day go super smoothly. My little girl was well behaved and I attribute a lot of that to how well we were treated. They have certainly gained a loyal customer.

As always completely honest, efficient service... I had work that needed to be done and while there I asked that my brakes be checked after another shady place tried to tell me while mounting my winter tires to that I needed brakes and rotors. So relieved I didn’t listen and took my car to Nemer who told me I didn’t need brakes yet... I love that they are honest and not trying to sell you something you don’t need. Will recommend them to anyone! Thank you Nemer VW!

When I entered the dealership, I was welcomed with such warmth and the staff seemed so happy to have me there. Bob Catania the salesperson who worked with me treated me like I was a friend of his. He not only helped me figure out the financing, he actually told me where the payments would be and worked to keep it within my limitations. No one has ever treated me so well. Everyone there is fantastic to work with and do I ever LOVE my new Cardinal red Jetta!!!!!! Best dealership I've ever worked with and I've bought many new cars over the years.

I brought my 2013 CC in for an oil change, tire rotation, and clock spring recall. about an hour into the appointment the tech comes and says I need brakes and rotors for the rear. I said ok go ahead and fix it. About a week and a half later I noticed that the only tire that I knew had a slow leak in it was in the same spot meaning they did not rotate the tires. After taking a closer look at all the tires I was sure none of them were moved. I called to alert them that the tires were not rotated- maybe because they noted the brake issue and forgot. Mr Green was very rude and asked why they wouldn't rotate the tires and basically called me a liar. There is no benefit to me to say they were not rotated since I would have to bring the car all the way back to the dealer to just have then rotate them. All I wanted was a little courtesy to say we must have forgot during the appointment and we will make it right. Mr. Green did not do that until after I told him I didn't like being called a liar. I have had a VW since 1999 and will remain loyal to the brand but NEMER will not be the place I buy my cars or for service. Very disappointed in the way I was treated.

Purchased used car, staff was great except for the fact they fudged the state inspection. I have put less than a thousand miles on the car since Oct 31, the back brakes are shot, and the tires are dry rotted, I took it to a local shop and they said there is no way that happened in a thousand miles, I am taking photos and sending a letter to the atty generals office.

Brought my car in for service and they misdiagnosed it. Very rude and never apologized. Almost charged me $800 for a tank of gas! The report came back as a "faulty" fuel pump when in fact, my fuel gauge was off and was showing 1/4 of gas even though it was empty! Wasn't the fuel pump at all. I paid $130 for nothing and they never offered an apology or to make things right :( The service manager was extremely defensive and claimed they ran a fuel pressure test. With all due respect sir...how is it even possible to come up with the number you gave me when the car was bone dry (no gasoline). Nothing even in the reserviour! How did you guys not see that?! Sad to think I may have potentially paid $800 for a tank of gas. Please do not lie to me next time, or anyone for that matter. It's just bad business. That is all.

I brought my 2013 Beetle convertible in for service. I had an issue with RainX washer fluid that was clogging the washer squirters when it got cold. Nemer first tried rinsing it out but when the problem returned they picked the car up from my office, replaced the washer tank and returned the car to me, all at no extra charge. In my mind that showed their concern for a satisfied customer.

I had a limit as to what I could spend and really wanted something with low miles. They introduced me to a 2012 Jetta SE with low miles and in my price range. I'm very happy with the car. I also received a follow up call from the salesperson who sold me the car a few days later to see how I was liking the car and if I had any questions. It was a nice touch. I have called Nemer several times since I purchased the car 8 months ago, just to ask some basic questions and they were always very polite and patient. I just got my 10,000 miles service done on the car. They were able to get me in the next day during an hour that worked best for me. Work was done quickly. The service person that waited on me was very nice and patiently answered a few questions for me ( even though I know she had work to do, I didn't feel rushed ). They have a very nice staff there and that means a lot to me.

I bought a Tiguan when it was brand new in 2010. I always had the car serviced at Nemer since.My car is now over 200000 miles. I had little problems; an electronic module, a coil spring for the back suspension.This car cost me less than $0.17 / mile beside gas and insurance.So I have a good car and it's been well maintained. The service department folks have barely changed since I do business there. They have always offered their best advice and I have always felt free to take it or leave it.Some luxury brand dealers will offer more flashy show room, facilities,etc. I don't feel lost in smoke and mirror at Nemer. The service department always do their best to accomodate me.I sure do appreciate.And recommend others to try.

I have owned a number of VWs- beginning with a 1972 "Bus" , but because of the various electronic improvements,on my 2014 Passat, I have had to make a number of return trips to Nemer to ask- "How does this work?" Carlos, my salesman was exceptionally helpful- if he was available. Otherwise, another person would immediately step up to show me how this or that worked. 60 years of driving will, likely, cause me to pull the car keys out of my pocket for the rest of my driving life- but I have to admit it's a great system- in theory. And by the time I master my keyless car, I may even get the best of the GPS.

They sold me tires at my last service 7500 miles ago, brought car in for inspection fail it because of one of the tires said i must of hit a pot hole and tried to sell me another tire for 167$ when i called the manager on it he started to yell at me told me if i didn't like it to leave and kicked me out of the dealership

I decided to lease a new vehicle to keep my expenses down being active duty Military. I leased a 2013 VW Passat TDI. For a $400 payment they required $5000 down. I was told early termination was simple. A year later I decided to retire out of the Military and knew I couldn't afford a $400 payment any more. Mike O'Toole the Manager there sat me down and told me he needed an additional $2649 to turn in my car that was perfect after a year. Total for one year was $12,449. I had no choice but to put on a credit Card the additional $2649 to terminate the lease so they could turn around and sell it and make even more profit on this deal. That's $1,037.41 a month it cost me by leasing a vehicle with Nemer Volkswagen. Never Again will the get my business or Anyone I know.

In December of 2013 my girlfriend and I purchased a certified pre owned 2010 Tiguan SE from Nemer. During the test drive I did a diagnostic on the car and found trouble codes for the fuel pump. I pointed these out to the salesperson and told them I would not purchase the car unless this was repaired. They agreed, and it was written as condition of the sale that those items would be repaired. A few weeks after taking deliver of the car I did another diagnostic and found the fuel pump codes had returned. This shows that Nemer never repaired the problem, they just cleared the codes and sold the car. So I brought the car to Nemer and explained that they were in violation of the terms of the sale, and they could either replace the fuel pump at their cost or buy the car back. They agreed to repair the fuel pump. So the car was left with them so they could perform the repair. When I went to pick the car up a week later, I found that while in Nemer's possession someone had backed the car into a snowbank damaging the back end. Nemer didn't even own up to the problem, I had to see it and point it out myself... and the damage was significant. Nemer took fault and agreed to repair the damage. So again the car was left with Nemer. A week later I went to pickup the car. Not only had they failed to properly repair the original damage, but now there is ADDITIONAL damage to my car. The new paint is too dark and doesn't match the car, also the paint has an orange peel texture to it. They failed to repair all of the chips on the hatch, and the chips they did repair on the bumper cover... they did not fill in before painting. So the divots can still be seen and felt through the new paint. On top of this poor-quality work they also managed to damage my right rear taillight. The lens has several deep gouges in it now. I was furious. Mike O'Toole offered to fix the car but I told him that I wouldn't let them touch it again since it has come back damaged every time. I told him the only acceptable solution would be for Nemer to pay a body shop of my choosing to do the proper repairs. He agreed. I left and went straight to a local body shop to get an estimate. Now Nemer is refusing to pay for the repairs claiming the estimate is too high ($1800). Mike O'Toole has stated that they will not pay more than "400 to 500 dollars" for the repair. This is completely unacceptable. They lied from the start and tried to pull one over on me with the fuel pump, then damaged my car, failed to repair it, and damaged my car again. I asked for their insurance information so I could file a claim, but they refused to give it to me. Too bad for them I found it out through other means and a claim has been filed. These people are worthless. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!I posted pictures of the damage and their poor repair job on their Facebook page, but Nemer has deleted them and blocked me from posting. Obviously they feel they have something to hide.In attempt to resolve this without court, I filed a complaint with the BBB. Mike O'Toole lied in his response to the BBB and claimed they didn't cause some of the damage, damage he previously took fault for in person. He also claimed that he got me a new tail lamp but I have not received any new tail lamp. No effort has been made by Nemer to get me the part. No one from Nemer contacted me to say it was available.Update - Nemer still refusing to pay the necessary amount to repair the damage properly. Filed in small claims court and won judgement against Nemer. (IF THIS IS AGAINST YOUR TERMS, DEALERRATER, SHOW ME WHERE! I'VE READ YOUR TERMS MULTIPLE TIMES AND THIS DOES NOT VIOLATE THEM. THIS IS A FACT SUPPORTED BY COURT DOCUMENTS! REMOVING THIS MAKES IT LOOK LIKE YOU'RE BEING PAID OFF. IS DEALERRATER A SCAM TOO??) Nemer still hasn't paid. Don't do business with these clowns! Mike O'Toole lies through his teeth!Here's a lie quoted directly from Nemer's website: "#1 Rated VW Dealer in the World on DealerRater.comWow, here's something nobody else in the world can say. Thanks you our valued customers, we are the #1 VW Dealer in the World on independent site DealerRater.com. We have more positive reviews than any other VW Dealer!"They're not #1 rated in the world, not even close. In fact, they're not even an active member on DealerRater any longer!

I was greeted within 30 seconds of arriving-my salesperson was Maria who was brand new to the dealership. 6 hrs later I was driving a new Passat. the car din't have mats or owners manuals and Maria promised she would get them. Six weeks later I still had not heard anything so went over there to find out Maria no longer worked there. Mark took over and got me manuals and car mats and explained a lot of the things that were not explained when I got the car. So far the rest of my experience has been great.

Nemer from Sales to Service is 2nd to none-Everyone is always pleasant we have a 2009 Pssatt that is the best car we have owned no problems just change the oil and filter that's it. 34,000 miles and still have 5/32 of thread left on the tires. the only vehicle we have owned that we can get to Buffalo NY from Plattsburgh NY 420 miles and not have to refuel to get there and still have better than a 1/4 of tank left.

I purchased a brand-new new Jetta Sportwagen from Nemer Volkswagen in July 2013, my first Volkswagen and first new car ever, after several decades of driving/owning used cars, most recently a Saturn SL2, for more than 15 years, one of the best cars ever made! That said, the Jetta Sportwagen I bought from Nemer is marvelous, living up to all high expectations I had for it, and the sales experience could not have been better! Sales Manager Mike O'Toole and my salesperson, Bill Varrone, are first-rate in every respect. While usually no service or repair is required in the first year, I did pick up a nail in one of my tires. The car's notification system told me right away there was a problem, and I took it in to Nemer's service department (Josh Masiglia), where the problem was identified and repaired successfully. I recommend Nemer Volkswagen sales and service in Albany (Latham), New York very highly. The Nemer dealership has made my new car purchase an excellent experience indeed!

Never in my life have I walked out of a dealership completely in awe of the horrible service that was provided. I wasn't treated like a customer should have been treated. We couldn't come to an agreement and things did not work out. In an attempt to leave the building, I was blocked from exiting. I had to walk around the sales person to even reach the door. I was constantly harassed while trying to leave and enter my vehicle. Two sales men followed me out of the building yelling and cursing at myself and another individual who was with me.Nemer VW, is this how you expect your employees to act? Cursing and harassing customers who have been loyal to your dealership in the past? I am appalled at the type of service that was provided. You should be ashamed to allow your employees to act the way they did.

This was the worst car buying experience. The salesperson was degrading and very pushy. Attempted to leave to shop around and the salesperson would not move away from the door. I would never recommend anyone to go here or deal with this dealership. Poor customer service for a business who is required to deal with the public everyday. Please keep this in mind when shopping for a new car.

Today my wife and I were just browsing at Nemer Volkswagon to get some ideas about the VW Jetta. Salesman Dan approached us and asked us if we had any questions and we explained to him we were potentially in the market for a new car or lease and just wanted to browse. Dan said take your time and let me know if I can answer any questions for you. After about 30 minutes of browsing we approached Dan with several questions about the VW Jetta. Dan was very knowledgeable about the model we looked at and explained the difference between buying a new car vs. leasing a new car. My wife and I were very impressed with Dan's no hassle sales approach that we actually ended up leasing a car from Nemer. Thanks for the great experience.

Be sure you are aware of what specific services are to be done and their cost before you sign off on them; ...what you thought was just an oil & filter change could include other, unexpected items .What is listed in your Owner's Manual differs from the dealers' service brochure. Ask questions. i.e.; The BG additives are unecessary in a normal-service passenger vehicle. Dealer should do a better job of communicating with the customer. This is probably the case with many dealers... they are in this busines to make a profit, afterall. Overall, I am please with Nemers' care of my 2009 Tiguan, and would recommend them to others.

have been shopping for a used Acura RDX on cars.com; this dealership had one listed that met my search criteria. Inquired about it via the website and I was quickly connected to a customer relations person at the dealership by email. We then exchanged half a dozen more emails, she assured me the car in question was available (after first stating the Acura MDX was available, she corrected herself quickly when I told her that was not the model I was interested in). I stopped by the dealership after work and had to wait only a few minutes before meeting the customer relations person, who seemed a pleasant and attractive young lady. She lead me to a desk and started explaining that she just wanted to go thru a series of questions to determine what attributes were most important to me in a car, and at that point I stopped her, explaining that I had done all that already and knew specifically what I wanted. That pretty much ended the conversation; although she remained pleasant, she called to a young sales consultant, telling him my name and explaining I had done my own research, and could he show me the car in question. The consultant made a show of pretending to find the keys to the Acura for quite some time before finally admitting it wasn't there and he didn't know where it was before trying to convince me to consider other options they had available. Typical bait and switch nonsense, I wonder how often that works. Had they been upfront or remotely straightforward I would have considered other vehicles they had on the lot, but as it is you leave the place knowing better and feeling used. What could have been a simple sale; I am purchasing within a week, turned into a disappointing and dishonest waste of my time, clearly what I will tell anyone I talk to about it. Won't consider doing business there again -

Fred Jacobs is a good guy to do business with.He communicates the problems from the mechanics in an easy to understand way.He is fair and I don't feel as though he is trying to push extra services like some garages do.I get the feeling that he genuinely tries to help your situation and not just get it done with.

Chris was so helpful in helping me pick out a new vehicle. It was my first experience buying a new car and I was thrilled with the outcome. He wasn't pushy and he let me drive the car around and decide if it was for me. We liked him so much and thought his customer service skills were so outstanding, that we decided to buy a 2nd car for my fiance 2 days later. There was a lot of paperwork and correspondance that needed to go into my fiance's purchase, and Chris stayed on top of it and called every day with updates. He also called to let us know that we had forgotten a "good luck charm" in our old car. My experience with Nemer was amazing and I have recommended you guys to everyone I know that is considering a new vehicle. Thanks so much Chris, we are thrilled with our purchases! They have always been friendly and accomodating in the sales dept at Nemer and the service dept is very good, as well. I enjoy my VW's and the experiences I have had at Nemer VW.

I purchased my new 2011 VW Golf TDI in July 2011. I drive a lot, so I've been in for three service visits, a recall, and a complimentary detail service.My service visits were bumpy to say the least and my recall was fine - once it was actually done.My first service I dropped the car off and when I returned, I went to the cashier's desk where a sales person was using the phone. I stood there unattended for about 15 minutes while he tried to close a sale. After he hung up he asked if I was being helped. To that I replied "no" and that I was picking up my car. He then retrieved someone to assist me and she didn't appear to have any idea what was going on. Apparently I was supposed to go to the service desk and have them walk me to the cashier - a process that no one explained to me. A "welcome walk through" would have been nice so I'd know what to expect upon servicing my vehicle.When attempting to schedule my recall appointment (online) I made the appointment at least two separate times only to receive a call the day before advising that the part wasn't in and to try next week....which I did. Eventually I told them I'm not going to keep scheduling the appointment until you have my part. You call me when its in. That call never came and I had to follow-up again. I finally made the appointment and took the car in. When I arrived I was told it would take about 45 minutes, so I waited. Pleasantly, the service took less time and I was on my way.My 20k service was terrible from a service advisor status. I made my appointment for Saturday morning. I dropped my car off about half an hour early. I was told it would be a couple of hours. So two hours after my scheduled appointment I called to check in. I was told it was in the technician's bay and would be another 30-45 minutes. So I killed a little more time then had my husband drop me off at the dealership. When I arrived, I made sure I told the service advisor that I was there and would be in the waiting area. Another 45 minutes passed before my car was ready. It was at the dealership 3 1/2 hours on a beautiful Saturday - while I was killing time since I don't live close to Nemer. I was incredibly irritated because the service advisor did a poor job of setting expectations. Had I known it would be 4 hours from the time I left my car, I would have gone home and not wasted my day waiting around. to top it off, I had washed my car before taking it in for service and when I got home I noticed grease marks on my car - along both sides of the hood. That was unacceptable.After that service I waited for a survey to come to my email. It never came. So I drafted an email to Anna Halpin, the General Manager outlining in detail the events of my 20k service. Anna responded almost immediately and set up a time to discuss the issues in detail. She assured me that she appreciated my feedback and would take steps to correct the issues. She also offered to detail my car to remove the grease.She made the appointment to detail my car and told me to see Ryan Burkhard when I came in. Upon my arrival, Ryan was ready for me, extremely efficient and had me on my way quickly. He called to let me know when my car was finished. When I returned, we exchanged some small talk and he was very personable. Evan Smith brough my car out for me and it looked fantastic. Anna, Ryan, and Evan went the extra mile to make sure I was happy and wanted me to know I could contact them at any time. Ryan let me know that he would be my dedicated service advisor going forward and he wanted to ensure I was pleased with Nemer's service.Anna followed-up after the detail service to ensure I was satisfied. I let her know that Ryan and Evan were excellent and that I was happy. She gave me her cell phone number and said if I ever had another issued to let her know. She hoped that the changes she had implemented would improve service and was counting on me to let her know either way.I appreciate that they cared enough about their customer to look at the gaps and implement improvements. I assured Anna that I would return for my next service and provide her feedback.Prior to discussing my concerns with Anna I was ready to find another dealer to service my vehicle. At this time, I'm going to stick with Nemer and hope that things will be smooth from here on out.

Absolutely the best sales/service experience. I had been looking for a new car for almost a year when I first went to Nemer, Josh was the salesman who first approached me, I explained what I was looking for and that I had already looked at several other makes of a "smallish" SUV but just didn't really like any of them. He showed me the 2011 Tiguan, I fell in love with it but honestly continued to look a bit more. Not one other vehicle compared ~ I just loved the Tiguan. So my husband and I came in to see Josh a few months after I had first looked. I was so surprised he remembered me .. my husband told him he was more than impressed with the way he treated/dealt with me when I came in. The pricing was so reasonable and the entire buying experience was so easy ~ that day we walked away with my new car!! Needless to say, Josh was great to deal with very knowledgeable and professional. I have since had my "baby" (It's blue ~ my daughters have named her the Indigo Crusader) for just over a year, she has been in for 2 oil changes and a blown fuse in the steering wheel. The Service team has been nothing but great!! The guys in Service have also been so patient with me and the several questions I have had regarding various features on my car ~ they make me feel like no question is ever a bother and certainly not a stupid thing to be asking. Everyone there is always very respectful, polite and so easy to deal with. Every time I have come in I have been met with "good morning" and when I leave, with "have a nice day" And on every one of those occasions Josh has made it a point to stop what he's doing and come over just to say hi...I also got a hand written Christmas card from Josh ~ little things go along way ~~ FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND !! ... Although Nemer Volkswagon is large dealership, from the moment I walked in I didn't feel overwhelmed and insignificant. This dealerships referral policy sounds great but in reality is terrible, they say if you refer customers to them you get a check for $300. We have referred three seperate people who have all bought cars and no referral bonus. After calling to inquire about why I have not recieved any referral bonus, they have numerous explanations for why we are not eligable. All three people we referred there made sure to mention our names and the referral program. I will not recommend anyone else to this dealership.

Well I wanted to buy s new VW and after deciding to buy a 2012 VW Eos, I began the Haggeling process, I contacted two other local dealers with my specifications for the Eos. trim level, color, etc. I then approached each dealer and told them that it did not matter who sold me the car and that it came down to dollars and cents and the best price that I would get for my trade (2008 VW Passat). Nemer would not give me a written quote. and, I might add neither did the other two dealers. I did get verbal quotes from the other two. The deciding factor would be the trade in amount that I would receive. Nemer VW told me to come in with my best offer and that they would beat the competitors offer. Well, I went to a dealership in Defeestville and while I was there the salesman from Nemer calls me and tells me that he will beat the offer that I just got. so here it is late afternoon in rush hour traffic and Nemer wants me back in Latham to "do the deal" as they put it. Now I drive all the way back over to be there before they close. The kid takes my car for a test drive and loves it. He starts to write the deal and then some other guy with a bad attitude comes over and starts to pick apart my trade and say that its not worth the money that was agreed upon! I now see where this is going to go. obviously they were going to attempt to get more money out of me to make the deal. I was pissed at this point and told them this sucked and I left. I went to Langan VW and bought my Eos for $3000 less then Nemer wanted and I got the trade in value that I was quoted. No shady deals no card tricks, just an honest deal, GO LANGAN!!!!!!

Mike is a great guy, he tried to do the right thing the first time around, because I told him I was not playing games. Give me the car for this price we would have a deal, but the first manager tried to get more money out of me. It did not work, but I ended up with what I wanted and needed to get into my new car! Everything went pretty smoothly and they didn't play the games that most dealers do (or as much anyways). The most negative part was that no one offered to show me the car I was leasing until after I had signed the papers. Additionally, they offered me a lease protection program, but not until I was already there to sign the papers, would have been nice to have some time to think about it. Other than those two things, the experience would have been perfect.

I bought a 2011 GTI from Nemer. 2 months later I was in a car accident in which a Jeep Grand Cherokee took out the entire passenger side of my car. I have to say VW really lives up to what they preach. I was amazed with how the GTI ultimately protected me. Long story short, I had a very painful 2 week dealing with the insurance companies. What saved me was a honest man in the Nemer Queensbury Autobody shop by the name of Steve M. If it weren't for his diligence with seeing that my car really was a total loss I would have ended up with a car that had a bad title. Thankfully, I won the battle with the insurance companies and was able to get my car to be a total loss. Sales was (maybe) fortunate to see my shining face again! I decided not to go with another GTI only bc of practicality and living in the Upstate Snowy area. I now have a 2012 Tiguan and it really is so fantastic! The Sales manager(s) were great! My sales guy, Mike G. was awesome. He's cool and down to earth which to me, is a great quality to have as a sales guy. Everyone was patient and was willing to work with me in getting me into a new VW fast!Truthfully, I am so happy to own a Tiguan. It's a fantastic car and Sales made it happen.Thank you Nemer.

This dealer is VERY expensive because they sell so few cars. High pressure sales techniques and inappropriate tactics like a "fake car pricing web site". Awful. I am so discouraged that I bought a car from Nemer Volkswagen. The car is fine but the dealer refuses to make good on ANY of the "We Owe" items that were damaged and agreed unacceptable. Sold the car and completely turned their back on us.

The worst car buying or should I say attempt at car buying experience I have ever had. I thought that I had a verbal agreement with Bob regarding the purchase of a new 2012 Passat TDI that they had on the dealership floor. We haggled over the price of trade in which took hours because at Nemer VW only one person can make a decision and they could not get a hold of said person until late in the evening. We finally came to resolution and it was agreed that I would show up the next morning to sign the papers and take possession of our new family car. My family was very excited and I was looking forward to taking the car on my next business trip which was the very next day. Early the following morning as I was on my way to the dealership which over 100 miles from our house I was contacted by Bob, who seems to be a middle man with everything, that they cannot sell me the car. No further explanation nothing...Sorry have a Good Day. To add insult to injury I received a call later in the day from their credit department asking me why I didnt show up for our meeting so I am assuming that not only did they not sell me a car but decided to run my credit just for the hell of it. I guess they sell enough cars to their current customers that they don't need to communicate with each other on who they are not selling cars too.

The reason I give such a good rating is because of our experience with our sales person Bob Catania. Bob negotiated us the cars we wanted at the price and payment plan we wanted. He was extremely courteous and friendly to my wife and my children. We bought 2 volkswagens. After our first experience with Bob when we bought our Golf, we returned and leased a Tiguan. A return customer should say it all.

There are a couple of reasons why this gave this rating, but the main reason was because of the runaround type of experience I received in which my sales person and the finance person did not appear to be on the same page or in some cases it did not appear that they had even communicated with each other regarding the deal. Specifically I recall having discussed with my sales rep a specific figure that I could afford and really could not move on. At the time my sales rep. appreared to understand my financial standing and said that he could make that happen but that he needed to work things out with the finance department. At this time I went home and awaited his call back. The following day I was called stating that everthing was all set only to show up and have the monthly payment some $60 more than what I had agreed to. Needless to say I did not accept the deal that day. The following day however, with now even more people involved with the deal the initial agreement was reinstated and I did purchase the vehicle. However, once all of the paperwork had been completed and ONLY then was I notified by my sales rep that not only did the vehicle NOT have an owners manual but it also came with ONLY ONE KEY! Both of these were a big deal to me. The manual was an issue because I have never owned this type of vehicle before and the sales rep knew almost NOTHING about the car. It sold itself because I really liked it. In fact he specifically told me that because my Jeep had power windows that the doors cannot come off which is COMPLETELY false I have learned. Moreover, when I asked how I could get a spare key I was told that I needed to go to a Jeep dealer since the vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler and not a Volkswagen vehicle. He then went on to tell me that the keys can be "kinda pricey." Having since then researched it the key for that vehicle is between $150 and $200. This is frustrating for me in that with my trade in I submitted two keys so it should be expected that I too should receive a spare key. Moreover, if it was an issue of cost, the key cost could have been worked into the deal which would have cost me perhaps a dollar or two extra a month, but that was never presented as an option. To sum up my experience I would use just one word. DISAPPOINTED! Disappointed because I had until then always had outstanding service and now feel like I was in some ways taken advantage of or at least with the key issue swindled.

I stopped in at the Nemer Dealership to check out the current lease promotion on a 2011 Jetta. Mr Kaplan was very friendly and helpful with all my needs. I drove two vehicles liked them both and was treated very professionally. Mr. Kaplan knows his vehicles very well and answered all my questions about the cars. Upon my returning the next morning I was greeted in a very nice manner and after discussion with my contacts I have decided to postpone my purchase for awhile. I have not yet had service on my new VW Golf TDI; I took delivery of the car on July 9. The Nemer associates work as a team. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted and they let my sales person, Scott, know I was there. Megan went through the electronics/navigation/blue tooth of the car with us and took us to fuel up the car.The reason I rated overall experience "good" is because we had a scheduled appointment to pick up my new car at 10am. When we arrived, my sales person was out with the car getting it detailed. And another person took us to fuel up the car. Those are things I would have expected be done prior to my arrival, especially since I technically contracted to purchase the car on Wednesday.With regard to price, I did an extensive amount of research online so I was aware of dealer invoice, blue book value on my trade, as well as what a 'reasonable' price to pay for the car was. I had to push to get the price I wanted, but was willing to walk if the numbers didn't make sense for me. In the end, after some negotiating, I got the car for the price I wanted.

I recently bought a brand new Tiguan at Nemer VW and found the experience to be wonderful, from the attentive non-pressure atmosphere, extremely knowledgable sales staff, to the vast inventory to choose from. I called that day and spoke to a sales manager who was able to provide me with the EXACT car I wanted to test drive that night to fit around my schedule! During the test drive the sales consultant was very knowledgable about the car, its features, and answered all questions on the spot that I had about the car. Even after I decided to purchase the car and was filling out paperwork, all of the staff members that helped me during the test drive stayed to make sure that I was able to drive off with the car that night! Even while waiting, you could see other sales associates smiling and asking if I needed anything. I would highly recommend this experience and this dealer to anyone looking for a car!

I bought a 2011 VW Golf from Nemer VW in the end of Dec 11. My experience was very negative and continues to be with their service department. I would avoid this dealership at all costs, as once they sell you the car, their service ends. I put money down on a car 1 month prior to pickup as I was moving to the area. I went to pickup the car a month later and paid the rest of the balance. I thought I could pay by check, but the dealer does not take checks, so I was forced to wire it to them for a $20 dollar fee. Next I was to register my vehicle from out of state, which they were informed about a month prior, I was required to figure out the forms and fill them out myself, although they charge a fee to do this. When I went to get the car, the car was out of gas causing another 45 minute delay, In addition to the fact that the car was missing the floor mats, which they could not find. As a final straw, they had misplaced the keys and when they found them, they found 2 of the three. All in all with paying cash for the vehicle it took 4 hours. Since then we have had engine light trouble and the radio broke. We have scheduled appointments to get it fixed, although when we go to the appointment we wait most of the day to tell us they can't get to it. Now we are waiting for them to get new radio shipped in, as we have waited 2 weeks to get an appoinment. I will say the price on the car was pretty fair, however anything else with this dealership, I would avoid like the bubonic plague of the Middle Ages, as they have absolutely terrible customer service and seemingly don't care. Once we get this problem sorted out, we will drive the extra 5 miles to somewhere else.SMS

Nemer was the first dealership we started our car search at. The bar was set high after leaving there the first day. Josh was very knowledgeable, helpful and more importantly not overbearing. He was very considerate when we told him our situation. We returned the next day to test drive the car as we didn't have time the first day. He had everything ready and set that day and He answered every question we threw at him about the car (which was a lot). The quality of work, friendliness, and customer service at Nemer was a 10/10 compared to other dealerships we went to that weekend. We purchased the car a week later after we went over our options that week. We drove into the dealership in my old car and left with exactly the car I wanted. Nemer/Josh really worked with us to get the price right too. Everyone we worked with throughout the car buying process was considerate and never pushy. It was a great experience for my first car purchase. I would recommend this dealership as well as Josh to anyone looking for a car!

The only Negative I have is that I was left to wait for long periods which I haven't had to do at other dealers. I experienced this before when I looked into purchasing a vehicle at the same dealer (different sales person) last year and it made me leave and go else where. This time I was still left waiting for long periods but it wasn't as bad.

I went to nemer to buy a used jetta and had the best buying experience I ever had. I have bought many cars in my lifetime and by far this was the best place to buy a car. Josh was GREAT, he took very good care of me and my family helping us find the right car. Everyone at nemer was so nice and helpful. I without a doubt am going back there to buy my next car and sending all my friends and family to see josh when its their turn to buy. Thank you everyone for all your help!!!!!!

I have purchased many vehicles over the years. Of all the dealings I have ever had, this was one of the best experiences of all. Martin Nemer VW made me feel like family. The whole staff was very friendly and cordial. It's always great when you leave a dealership and feel that you have been treated fairly. This doesn't happen too often. Martin Nemer VW did it right!Bob Catania is a super nice person and salesman who treated me with the utmost respect. Mike O'Toole, Sales Manager and Bob worked together to get me the best trade in I was offered towards a new Touareg TDI. I had been to other dealerships. Nemer certainly worked out the best deal. My dad and I were met at our car by Josh Masigla. He had an umbrella in hand to cover us from the rain. He greeted us with a friendly smile and handshake. He walked us to the door and held it open for us. I could tell right away that Josh wasn't like any other car sales people I've had in the past. He had a great attitude and seemed very enthused as well prepared. Josh was very helpful and honest with us. I love my Jetta. It runs great, and feels brand new. Most other sales people are only worried about making the sale and moving onto the next client. However not Josh. He made sure that the mechanics looked at it and made sure everything was taken care of. He also gave me floor mats for the car. All in all I would recomend anyone in search of a car to go to Nemer Volkswagon on Troy Schenectady Rd in Latham, NY, and see Josh Masigla. I know next time me or anyone I know aren't going to have to search very hard to find a dealership as great as Nemer Volkswagon, with a person as great as Josh. I was visiting relatives in Albany for several days so I figured it would be a good idea to drop my Jetta for service at Nemer while they looked at purchasing a new car there. There was a problem with the fuel system that was apparently causing the Check Engine Light to illuminate. This would prevent it from passing a state inspection in Vermont, my home state. I was initially promised the car back the same day (Saturday) but it was no big deal if it was not repaired by monday. That day the mechanic advised me that it needed a new catalytic converter and some other work based on problems they discovered. Unfortunately it could not be done that day and would have to wait until monday. Due to problems obtaining parts and other problems it was not ready until next thursday. By that point I had to borrow a car from my parents and return home. No big deal. I was later informed that the car was done -- total bill $1900. I phoned in my credit card number, had my relatives pick said car up. Later on I picked it up and drove it back to Vermont. The day of my arrival, and less than a couple hundred miles out of Nemer's service center the Check Engine Light came back on!!! I took it to a local mechanic who promptly found the problem was caused by a corroded and destroyed vacuum hose in the car. The problem was relatively quick and easy to fix, although I should never have had to take it to the local mechanic because Nemer should have noticed the problem when it was there the week before, especially since corroded vacuum hoses should be easy enough to spot. I don't doubt that the catalytic converter needed to be repaired. If the tech says it did, fine. But why then would they miss destroyed tubing which should be obvious? The car was in the shop long enough to find this problem (Especially at $94/hr!!!!), a visual inspection should have shown this was occurring -- rubber doesn't suddenly corrode on a 200 mile trip to Vermont. I spoke to the Service Manager at Nemer about this trouble. He said that they feel terrible about what happened, but generally unless the code from the machine indicates there is a problem in that particular component they might not see it. No offers of discounts or rechecking it the next time I was in the Albany area. He did mention that I spent a lot of money with them ($1900!!!) so they wanted me to be happy. I do appreciate their apology, but I wish this had not happened at all as it wasted time on my end. Furthermore, Nemer lost out on revenue from repairs they could have made to my car!In conclusion, while the catalytic converter and other work was done properly, the problem was not completely diagnosed or repaired, causing a visit to another mechanic once I got back home. The comments about how the OBD II computer code should be present for the mechanic to look at the part were somewhat sad --- I wonder what mechanics did years ago before computers? A OBDII code should not be required to notice rotting tubing. While the sales people were friendly and knowledgeable, after this service department experience I am glad my parents went somewhere else for their car purchase.

Mr. Catania was very attune to what we were looking for in an automobile. We were not ready to turn in our leased vehicle, but he assured us, but did not pressure us into leasing a Volkswagen. We had been thinking about leasing the Tiguan, and, as it turned out, Bob had located the vehicle which met out needs both in price and options. He went the extra mile to ensure that the deal went smoothly, which it did. He also does not come across as overkill to make the sale. Bob had leased our EOS 2 years ago and was as courteous this time as in 2008. We would strongly recommend other customers have Bob assist them in their automibile purchase.

I felt very comfortable at Nemer VW. Everyone is super friendly and laid back. I didn't feel like I was being pushed into anything, which is how I feel at most car dealerships. The Certified Passat I bought had a defective windshield. They said, "We'll take care of you." In the past that meant nothing. These guys came through - installing a brand new windshield in my Passat and greasing the squeaking doors!I'm now one happy camper!They did lowball me on the trade in but the monthly payment was where I wanted it to be so I did not argue too long or loudly.

Nemer VW has been great, the only thing I am dissapointed in is the quality of brakes in my 2009 Jetta. I know this is a problem with VW, and not with Nemer, but I was really upset to have to replace my brakes after only 20,000 miles and a year and a half of having the brand new car. Brakes should not have to be replaced after such a short time.

I drove two hours to go there and get a new jetta because they had given me a great price over the phone. But when I got there they raised the price by $2000. Bob treated me with no respect at all along with everybody else there. I had a very bad experience there. I would never recommend anyone to go there.

Extremely pushy. Tried to low ball me on my trade. Would not tell me the interest rate they wanted to charge me when I asked about financing. Would only show me the most expensive models in the lot. Still I put a hold on a car by giving them a refundable $1000 deposit. When I got my VW from another dealer (who gave me more than twice for my trade), it took me 2 visits, 2 sales staff and about an hour to get my $$ back.

The waiting area was also suitable with a tv, reading material and a couch. I will come back and trade my current car or purchase a new car from Nemer if I am in the area.

I love the show room. I love the drive and feel of a volkswagon and I forgot, when I was a teenager my Mother owned a vw bug. I even took one of my drivers test in it. It was an orange semi automatic. I loved that car. And!!! I love my new Jetta wagon!!! New it's a year and half old now but it still feels like new to me!! I'm trying to get my Husband to buy a Volkswagon as well. He needs a utility vehicle, something with a tow package so if you want to call us with any deals that are going on....we(you and me) just may be able to convince him to buy a new car. The service staff is always friendly and courteous. I am always able to obtain a courtesy ride to work, and get picked up in a timely fashion when my car is ready. While waiting at the dealership, I am always offered coffee or a cold beverage. Dealing with Nemer has always been a very pleasant experience, which only complements my satisfaction with the quality of VW in general. I have had a VW Jetta or Passat since 1997 and see no reason to change in the future.

I have bought a number of cars from Nemer in the past. The most notable experience I've had was when my son was driving cross-country in his VW Fox and began having major trouble keeping the car running at about mid-point in his trip - driving through the bad lands with no services. I called Nemer and asked them to call the dealer in Fargo N.D., the closest city that my son was driving thru. My son had already stopped at a VW dealer along the way who had the car for a day and failed to properly diagnose and fix the problem. The Nemer Tech rep got on the phone w/ the Fargo dealer, PROPERLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM FROM MY DESCRIPTION, got a new wiring harness just in time for my son's arrival in Fargo, and had him on his way happily and with no further trouble to his destination of Portland OR.Great Job and Kudos.

The car showed the MIL lamp, so I brought it in for check up. Turns out that mice had chewed up some plastic hoses that lead to a vapor problem below the gas tank. The parts were cheap but unfortunately the labor was expensive, which cost me about $1200. What hurt most was that two months prior I had spent another $1000+ to get the CV+boots fixed.

It's VW dealer service, so you have to take pricing with a grain of salt. I think it's expensive - but it's the going rate, and it's fair. I've had mostly positive experience with basic maintenance (oil changes, etc.) and with some minor warranty repair. While I was inconvenienced by having to return a second time to fully address a warranty issue, the return visit had the issue fixed promptly with a satisfactory explanation - one which agreed with the research I had done on the problem myself.All together a positive experience - nobody goes to a dealer's shop because it's fun, but they at least make it tolerable. ;)

Everything went well when I bought my vehicle. Whenever I bring it in for service the guys are always so nice and friendly. The only problem I had was with the paperwork. There were a few errors that needed to be corrected and that was why I gave a 4 instead of a 5. Otherwise everything was good and I had a good experience.

My fiance and I had done quite a bit of research prior to going to the dealership but his knowledge of the Tiguan far surpassed my expectations. Service has been good an New Tiguan has been running like a top since I got it in January. It now has 16,000 miles with no problems. My 2009 Rabbit was in an accident and being brand new I made the decision to have a VW dealer do the work. Although the car looks great and you can not tell it was even in an accident, it took a long time and a lot of back and forth phone calls to get the car back. I was told that the delays were due to the lack of communication between the insurance company and the service department. I believe it would benifit Nemer to improve their policies for dealing with accident claims.

I bought my car from Nemer VW in Latham NY and it was an amazing experience. I walked in and was reccomended the car of my dreams. I could not have been more impressed by the service and sales of the staff at this dealership.Once I moved to FL I experienced some difficulities with the Service departments at the locations in FL. I brought my car in for service and when I left it seemed more things were wrong than when I brought it in. After 3 trips it was finally fixed.

Overall experience was good. Salespeople worked with me to get me the car I wanted at a fair price. There was a bit of confusion regarding the price and terms of the agreement with the purchase of the vehicle, but it got worked out in the end. I bought[leased actually] this car when the free maintenance offer was made and that has made my experience stress free. And that is what makes me tell all my friends about VW. The customer service was almost non existant over the phone. I had to go in to the facility in order to find out what I had to do to replace a rim under their offered wheel and tire replacement package. After they told me they replaced the rim I noticed before I left the parking lot the rim actually had not been replaced rather the burr on the rim had been ground down and the rim moved from the front passenger to the rear passenger, making it appear that the rim had been replaced. After bringing this up the issue was finally fixed and a new rim was replaced by the dealer.Next issue, the hood started to chip in various locations so I set up an appointment and had the hood looked at. It was determined it was a defect and the hood was repainted at no cost to me. One year later the hood is once again chipping and an appointment has been made. This is highly agrevating as the first time they had the car over a week to repaint the hood. On a good note a rental was provided for our use.Our salesman was very nice and we had no issues with the purchasing of the car. The only complaint I have while purchasing is the manager came over to seal the deal and was rather pushy, if my lease on my previous car was not up I would have walked out without buying the car. The only way I will purchase again from this dealer is if they had a great lease loyalty program.

I was looking at the 2010 GTI to replace my 05 BMW 330 and the associate who spoke to me was patient, knowledgable and knew the specs of the car as well as I did. He was friendly and asked mee what type of driving I was going to be doing (commuting, long distance, track days) as I had told him I think of my car as my hobby not just a vehicle. He told me the features of the GTI in a waybthat relate directly to my interests and made me aware of the benefits of front wheel drive over rear wheel here in the NE, the gas savings of the 2.0T vs my inline 6, and offered an instant tradein appraisal of my current car. I would highly recommend Nemer to a friend.

I have been coming to Martin Nemer Volkswagon for more than 30 years. I have had an on again off again relationship with the dealership and the service department. There was a time when the dealers were very aggressive and rude and dismissive of women. However, within the last two years the dealership environment has become a bit more friendly. As far as the service department, they have improved somewhat. The service department is only as good as the customer service people and the quality of the work behind the doors. Recently, I was treated with respect and promptness at the service department.

The dealership overall was a good experience. I was upset with an issue that occured where the complaint that I had wasn't fixed and continued after a $1500 bill. However, everyone was quick to fix the actual issue and was very accomodating and understanding with how frustrated I was. They gave me a rental car free of charge while they fixed the problem and discounted the final bill as muach as they could. They also explained how there was a 3 year warranty on the problem that they had fixed so it was guaranteed. Everyone was very helpful and patient with my complaints.

In every case, work was done very promptly, which is a big plus, as we have to drive 20+ minutes or so to drop off the car. Once we used the free shuttle service for a ride home, which was convenient. Usually, I wait while the car is getting worked on, and the waiting area is very pleasant--appropriate for doing work or reading. Makes the 20+ minute drive worthwhile!

At first, I was lead to believe that the window regulator on my car was still under warranty. But, after further review, I came to find out that it wasn't. The sales person I dealt with was knowledgeable and persevered with the sale even when I had doubts. The sales woman has since left the dealership. As a result I was not only able to get an excellent price on a 2004 VW Jetta but also an excellent VW financing rate. The service department handled two warranty repairs quickly and reliably. These included a loose side molding and a failed clutch. There was also a recall notice I received and the dealership handled it in a very timely manner.

My recent visit for an A/C work was promptly fixed in a timely manner. I want to say thanks to Fred (Service) and Sandy for following up with me. My A/C stopped blowing for 1 week. I had my car inspected on Monday morning and had it back by midday for summary. Part was ordered by Fred same day and it arrived 3 days later. My car was repaired on Friday and my A/C has been working since then. Although Fred was on vacation, Sandy followed up with my recent visit to make sure things were working great. Anytime I have gone in to Nemer I have been welcomed by Fred or Mike in a very professional and timely manner and they have always been able to answer my questions and give me quotes for work that I have had to do on my 04 Passat. The use of a car, while ours was being serviced, made our life much easier. I took the car to Nemer thinking they might not like me since I didn't buy the car there. I visited Nemer VW in search of a new GTI. I found one that I loved but the price was simply to high. My husband and I tried to negotiate and the sales representative kept going to the manager to negotiate. Unfortunately, we were unable to agree on the price that I was willing to pay. WE then discussed the possiblity of a used GTI but after searching the sales person could not find one with the options I wanted. WE left empty handed. The next day I happened upon a 2007 GTI with the options that I wanted at a Chevy dealership. I purchased it right away as I had already sold my current vehicle and was in need of a new one. The next week, I received an email from your dealership salesperson stating that after much discussion your company would be willing to sell me the new GTI for the price that I wanted. Sadly, I already had bought the 2007. Had your company just agreed a bit sooner I would have purchased the newer model.That being said, I was pleased with all of the customer service I did receive while there. Your sales staff were very helpful and definitely worked hard to try to secure the deal I wanted.

I had heard of Nemer VW from a friend who really appreciated their great customer service especially compared to other VW dealerships around the area. After being subject to terrible service from another dealership, I decided to give Nemer VW a try. The people there were great and they gave me a play by play before my car went into service and went through what happened when I received my car back. They were always sure to accommodate me whether or not I wanted to wait it out or grab a shuttle to go back home. The work done was always up to par however the price is a little more here than what I paid in Florida but that may be due to the taxes.

I was out of town in Albany when the fuel pump on my Passat went kerplunk. I thought it might have been the transmission but the guys at your place were great about diagnosing and fixing it quickly. Being here on business, it was difficult for me to be without a car and to find times to drop it off and pick it up. You guys did everything to make that easier. On one occasion i was at the dealership to purchase touch up paint for my 2003 GTI because some rocks from the road must have chipped the hood. When I came in looking for the touchup paint it had to be ordered since it was not in stock. Mr. Jacobs assured me it would be in within just a few days. Sure enough he was a man of his words. I could not believe the paint was so inexpensive. Such a small price to pay to keep the VW from deteriorating. On other occasions I have been at the dealer just browsing for used vehicles the salespeople are always so friendly, usually even giving compliments on the such nice shape my VR6 is in. I love VWs and I would not hesitate to purchase another one. The videos showing vehicles for sale on Facebook is a nice touch. Nemer is really taking a few extra steps and time to show all they have to offer.

Nemer VW was far more helpful and friendly than other local VW dealers. Other dealers were aggressive and abrasive during the sales process. Nemer associates took to the time to take me on a test drive, walked around the lot with me on a cold day and thoroughly explained the leasing process. The employees at Nemer are always friendly and tell me exactly what they are going to do with my car. I've been in for several oil changes, a new auxiliary audio jack, and a 20,000 mile service and each time I was there I had to sit and wait. They try to do a quicker job if you're waiting so I've never waited longer than 2 hours. The only reason I don't go back to Nemer for everything my car needs is the price. I can find oil changes and inspections cheaper at other auto service centers. However, I am still glad that I purchased my car at Nemer, and if I ever need another Volkswagen I know where to go!

I was not impressed with the Customer service when I purchased my GTI from Nemer. I purchased the car in late November and the dealership refused to give me anything but Summer tires. I had specifically requested all season tires, I was told I had all season tires, and it was only when I got the car home and checked that I realized that I had been given summer tires. It is amazing that I did not manage to wreck the car.

Most of the experience was good, but I was given better pricing at another VW dealership - both for sales and service. I am moving into the Schenectady area and would like to re-establish. The other suggestion I have, is that I'd like to see more coupons/savings on amenity parts like car mats, etc. These are so highly priced that I and others often go to the Internet. I've dealt with Nemer VW on many occasions over the years. I bought my first new car from you--a black 1983 GTI. Man, did we love that car! Next was an '02 Passat, fully loaded with the 6-cylinder engine and all wheel drive. We've had Audis and BMWs and lots of nice cars, but we've never gotten as many unsolicited compliments on a car as we did on that one. Our most recent Nemer purchase was a silver Wolfsburg Edition '03 Jetta--find a cooler, more sophisticated car for the money, and I'd like to see it.It won't shock you to hear that car dealers and the automotive industry in general have a pretty bad reputation, and we've had enough crazy experiences over the years to support that feeling. I dropped my car off for 10k service, was greeted in a lovely fashion, was given an estimated wait time and was offered a refreshment. While I knew I was in for a wait, the waiting area was comfortable with plenty of reading material. The service was complete in the estimated time frame. I also got a great blue canvas bag!

We ended up buying a car in Rochester because they had all the features we wanted in a car and it was on the lot ready to go. So, no complaints with Nemer - just bad timing.

Overall Nemer has been good to me. They were always willing to fit me in their schedule. I just wish I was more aware when they had deals on service going on. The only problem I ever had with my service was the removal of my undercarriage dust shield. For some reason on a couple of occassions after my oil change it would not be put back on correctly. I am not sure if this is a service problem or a car design issue.

I would HIGHLY recommend Nemer VW if you are in the market for a new car. Our salesman, Mike was so genuine and honest. He was a breath of fresh air. We left the dealership with a nicer vehicle than we thought we could afford, and felt amazing about it. I visited the dealership to search for a used vehicle, which I didn't end up buying (I'm going to drive my current Jetta into the ground and then buy new). However, the salesman I spoke with was very helpful and did not pressure me at all. I wish I could remember his name. I thought that the prices of the cars I looked at were fair. I have had my jetta serviced at nemer many different times and think that the price of service is higher than it should be but on par with other dealerships. However, the service itself has always been very prompt and I was always satisfied with the outcome. I thought that the service department kept me well informed and explained everything I needed to know in terms I could understand. I'm happy with Nemer as a dealership/service center.

This is not a review of a recent transaction- my last new car purchase at Nemer was nearly 25 years ago. I drove that Jetta for 405,000 miles/ 20 years. I find that it's easy to make an appointment,everyone is accomodating, and if the service is going to take longer than anticipated, a shuttle service is offered.Once, another problem appeared as Iwas driving home from a service appointment, I called and got right back in. My last experience getting my car serviced was wonderful, despite the awful electric blue pt cruiser loaner, which drives fine and was roomy, but has got to be the most embarrassing car I've ever driven. I was in the market for a new car and went to Nemer first. I test drove a couple of cars and asked a lot of questions about why I should buy a VW. I needed a car to fit my lifestyle; I wanted versatility, gas mileage, and pep. Chris Horn, my sales person, was very knowledgeable and steered me in the right direction-- the Jetta TDI sports wagon. He was professional, not stuffy or overly pushy, and patient. I went to other dealerships, drove other cars and spoke to different sales people. None of the other cars, or sales people, came close to convincing me to buy. I ultimately went back to Nemer and went for another test drive with Chris. I'm a hard customer, but I ended up buying a 2010 TDI. When I sat down with Mr. Howard to discuss financing, he too was knowledgeable, efficient, and accommodating, and had a nice way about him. He took time to explain the financing and didn't try to cut things short when I declined to take the extended warranty. Both employees are an asset to Nemer VW. I would buy from them again and recommend them to my friends and relatives and co-workers.

I had gone there in 2006 interested in a Golf and Bill helped me to become more aware of the options I had as far a price that were available to me. Bill is especially charismatic, and seems like a really great and honest person. This year I made a purchase on a used Jetta that Rick helped me out with. Within 5 minutes of being on the lot he came out to help us and answers all out questions: opening up cars to find a comfortable fit, prices, options, everything. He was very personable and even included his own experiences when discussing his options and knowledge about the VW's. Overall the experience was great, just be ready to wait forever when their figuring out the financial information. Love driving my new-to-me used car though!

I've been largely happy with the service at Nemer VW, however I was spoiled by the service that I'd received at my original dealership, Pecheles VW in Greenville, NC. The quality of service has been very good; the one incident that I'd had I was able to work out an amicable agreement with the service manager. Overall, my complaints center around the high cost of dealer recommended maintenance, and that Nemer charges charges for car cleaning (wash and vacuum) where Pecheles offered them as a compliment. I have purchased two VWs from Nemer and recommended both my daughter and daughter in-law to Nemer. Both bought new cars. I have always found everyone to be friendly and accommodating. My car was just there for service and needed some work on the roof and trunk. While the roof and trunk problem seem difficult to pin down, everyone is doing their very best to try to resolve the situation. I love my car (and my girls both love theirs), and I always send people to look at "the Nemer lot" when they are in need of a vehicle. I get compliments all the time on my EOS. The kids call it a "hot" car. The older people tell me it is "very nice" and everyone is amazed at the way the roof operates. I have been to four different VW dealerships and none have treated me with as much respect than Nemer VW. I bought my first VW from Heart VW in Kingston, NY. My salesman there was amazing but he left. A year or so later I was in for service and a salesman had pressured me and pressured me until I would buy a car. BOO them. Then I moved to Troy, NY and visited Nemer for my service. I was so amazed at the difference between dealerships. Nemer was off the charts. The service department was amazing. They helped me every step of the way. Then a year and a half later I was shopping around for a CPO VW. I was in search of a manual GTI about a 2006 or 2007. Nemer had none so I looked at the dealership where I was moving. Burke Motor Group in Cape May Court House, NJ. They were terrible. Absolutely horrible. The service department is very unprofessional and the sales team didn't know what a DSG was! I said goodbye to them. And I went back up, five hours north to Nemer and bought a 2006 VW Passat. I went and I was in and out relatively fast. Kate was great and I really enjoyed my experience with her and the rest of the staff. Now I was at the point where I was driving back to Latham, NY to get my oil changes done! I had another horrible experience with the Rutland, VT VW dealer which made me realize how special Nemer VW was. I will NEVER EVER buy another Volkswagen from another dealership again. Nemer for life!

We visited the dealership to look at Tiguans. The general manager gave us his card, and he was very friendly. He said if we want to make an offer, come back to him. We will. We own a Touareg but have not had service done at Nemer, nor did we buy it there. We were just looking, and still are. We may be ready to buy within the year. I like dealing with a dealership which only deals with one specific brand....VW. There were many certified used cars to look at, which we did and everyone there was very helpful. The GM offered us $500 off the price right as we walked onto the lot because we already owned a VW. That was nice, but we were just looking at the time. Our overall experience at Nemer was excellent and we enjoyed the people there. We'll go back.

I purchased my car from Bob at Nemer after shopping around quite a bit. I needed a car immediately. Bob gave me the information i needed and we didn't waste a lot of time negotiating over the price. Nemer gave me the best price initially the first time i went in. And it was the lowest of the Volkswagon dealers. He worked with me to find what I wanted as far as color and accessories. I have been for service a few times. I have never waited to be taken care of. I have needed a loaner and they have always assisted me with that. One of my requirements I had when purchasing the car was that I needed to have a loaner if my car was being serviced. Bob assured me it wouldn't be a problem. Its never been an issue. I would purchase another car from Nemer and i I have often recomended Nemer to others.

I was promptly greeted upon entering the dealership to purchase my EOS; the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I was probably at the dealership a good 7 hours that day, believe it or not, between the test driving of two different vehicles, discussing my options for financing and payment plans. I went home with my new car that same day! I love it!When I needed the roof mechanism on the EOS fixed, I was given an immediate appointment. The waiting room was sunny and comfortable. The service staff was very communicative with me on what exactly was wrong and how long it would take to fix it.

I first used Nemer VW when I traded my VW Camper Van for a brand new '85 Diesel Jetta. (I wound up having that car over 15 years!) Twenty five years and Four VW's later, I am still with you guys. I always have a good deal and efficient VW servicing through Nemer and plan to stay with VW's and Nemer as long as I am driving. The love of my life (second only to my wife - in case she ever reads this!) is my red convertible beetle with the cream colored ragtop and interior. We bought a TDI Jetta in 1998, and have been happy with the car. The radio volume control went bad, the ignition switch failed, and the manifold had a cookie dough-like carbon build-up that no one seemed to want to tell us about. I have had excellent experience scheduling and receiving both routine and incidental repair service. We have two VWs - one I drive and one my husband drives - and have found Nemer VW responsive to our service requests, fitting us in as soon as possible and providing friendly, competent service. On one occasion we stopped by unscheduled on our way out of town on a trip and they took care of a minor problem with our car right away. As a result of the good relationship we had getting service on our Golf, we bought our used Jetta at Nemer last year and had an excellent experience with the sales department as well.

Overall it was a good experience, although it took a while to be convinced that i want to go in and commit for a long term. The first car they brought out for a test drive was sort of dirty, it did not have the "new look/smell" feeling i was looking for, had broken vents in the back...But we negociated some more, they brought out a car with 9 miles on it instead of over 300 miles, fell in love with it and here i am, proud owner of a VW CC.Staff was a little bit aggressive in pushing for a deal but i guess it s normal for a salesperson.Thank you.

I had recently totaled my car and needed to purchase a used car. I had done my research online and found a number of used vehicles in the capital district area, one of which was Nemer Volkswagen in Latham, NY. I had test driven 2 other cars before I got there, with one more that I wanted to test drive after. When I walked in I was greeted very warmly and was immediately directed to a sales associate named Josh. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the car I wanted to see. The car was a 2004 Jetta with under 55,000 miles (about 30,000 miles than any other car that I looked at). It was in great condition and they had just put brand new tires on it. Josh got me a copy of the car-fax, which showed a flawless and well-maintained history, and even got me a bottle of water to sip on while I waited. They car was very well priced, and was a much better all-around deal than all the other cars I was interested in. Although I was extremely impressed with the Josh's attitude and the Nemer dealership, I wanted to test drive my last option, a 2004 Passat down the road. I explained that I had done all this research and I wanted to follow through to make the best decision that I possibly could. Although this made them a little uneasy, they even put a 2 hour hold on the car for me while a left to check out the other dealership. None of the other dealerships I had visited had made a gesture as great as this. Needless to say by the time Josh called me to inquire as to my experience at the other dealer I was already on my way back to Nemer. My entire experience with Josh and the Nemer Volkswagen dealership was great. They were very professional and made me feel very comfortable throughout my shopping and buying experience. Josh was very personable and helpful with everything. We set up a date the next day to come down and fill out the paperwork. I came back down with my Mom and she agreed that he was a great person and was very impressed with the Nemer dealership. He went through all the paperwork very carefully and explained everything to us. He introduced us to the store manager as well as the store finance manager, both of whom I felt were good people. Everyone that I interacted with throughout the purchasing process was friendly and very helpful. As we waited to get the car brought around Josh took a second to sit down with my Mom and I get familiar with the service schedule of the car. He gave me some business cards of different people from Nemer that I could call to service or get work done on my car. He also gave me his card and even his cell number so that I could call with any questions or concerns in the future. I chose Nemer because I wanted an honest answer to my questions re a new GLI lease. The questions were answered, stating that a 2010 GLI would not be available. However the Wolfsburg was offered as an alternative since it was "close" to the GLI. My 2006 GLI had package 2 and was the best car I ever owned. I am not happy with the new 2010 Wolfsberg. No fog lights, no xenon headlights, the handling is not as good and the transmission (manual) is not anywhere as good as my 2006 GLI. The lack of power lumbar is serious. The only positive things are the new radio/media display and the bluetooth. I am very disappointed with this vehicle, since i was very much spoiled with the GLI. I would hopethat when the new GLI is released, that Nemer will make some accommodation for this. The features of this new WolfsbergI in comparison to the GLI that I had were misrepresented. I is still an ok car, but my night vision requires the xenon headlights and the other differences like that lack of leather and the lack of the power lumbar, are also serious. I hope I will be contacted regarding trading in this new 2010 with less than 7000 miles towards a new GLI.Bob Gardner

The sales staff were cureous, but lacked initiative. I looked at a Toureg and was told that it is larger then a Pilot, which seems incorrect, but the sales person did not seem to push, which was nice, but i needed more information. The Price on the Toureg seemed very reasonable, but again, the sales person was not that interested in trying to pursuade me.I still service my 10 year old Jetta at Neemer and will continue to because the service center is great!

I bought a 2008 Jetta in January and LOVE THE CAR :)I also got the 40K mile service and was very pleased with it! The price is up there, but the peace of mind I now have is well worth it!I will be back for sure for one of the smaller SUV models after I am done with my Jetta. Waiting room was clean and quiet enough to read and make phone calls while I waited. I was told the status of my car and how long it would take for my car to be ready. I was provided with the information to customer service to gain the proper information re: my car. I do wish I was offered a ride and/or provided with a rental as 2 hours was a long time to wait. Typically youre offered water or coffee and I did not recall this information until after I left, again something I wish I was reminded as early in the am would have helped with a cup of coffee.

I've found the service to be great every time and I find it quite helpful when they recommend additional services that are coming up and what one's can wait and which need to be done immediately for safety reasons as well as affect the life of the car.

Once we'd discussed the car options with them we decided it was not the right time for us to buy but they continued to push it rather than establish a relationship for future sales. I think they should have graciously taken our information and maintained contact with us for the future. We will probably purchase from them at some point but not now.

I'm disappointed that my fiance who referred me never received compensation. He was the reason why I bought the $30,000 car and Neemer couldn't even come through with their referral bonus. It's just principle. Although I would not steer people away from Nemer, neither of us go out of our way to tell people to go there anymore. My fiance referred his cousin 1-2 years ago and did not receive a bonus then either. I do love the car, however it's just bad business & a little disappointing. I've mentioned it a few times & nothing was ever done about it. Another one of his cousins is currently researching VWs.

I was travelling in the Albany area and my Jetta developed a problem requiring immediate VW Service attention. I located their name and address on my Blackberry, called, them, and explained the problem. They were able to quickly get my car in (same day), resolve the problem while I waited, and get me on my way. The underlying problem discovered required a scheduled warranty repair part and procedure, and once again, they were able to schedule me in and take care of the work in a courteous, professional manner. The experience of my daughter and I was very positive following an accident that totaled her previous vehicle. The dealership found a way to match other financing we could get and matched the payment. The service department was good in providing the first scheduled maintenance and correcting a problem with a rear door panel that was loose. I purchased my DREAM car; a VW Bug in 2008. At the time the salesman (Vincent-who is no longer there) told me I would have free check-ups every 5000 miles. At 5000 miles I only needed an oil change so I paid for that.When I was in at 10000 miles I brought it in to have all of the suggested work done alone with an oil change. To my surprise the bill was $170.00. When I explained what the salesman had told me, they said I had been misinformed. I was very disapointed. The next day I took the on-line survey that Nemer sends and told of my service. In less then 24 hours Anton contacted me to aplogize and empithize with the problem. He sent in writing a FREE oil change for my next service. I have been please with Nemer since I bought my Bug and with continued service like I recieved from Anton is why I gave the rating I did!!!

I had been leasing a Chrysler Sebring since 1982 and had not considered VW until driving past Nemer and seeing the EOS on display. I stopped in and found Tai Lescinski to be extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about all of the VW's. She encouraged me to test drive the EOS and the rest is history. I have been very happy with the EOS so far, returned to Nemer for the one month followup check - all was well and the service department staff was also very pleasant to deal with. I would not hesitate to recommend the EOS or this dealership to anyone in the market for a new vehicle.

The experience was great in my eyes. Bill helped me out in 2008 and Ric a few weeks ago in 2010. Unlike other dealerships we had been to in the car buying process, someone was out to help us within the first 5 minutes of being there, as compared to another place where we walked and walked around for probably half an hour until WE stopped an associate who quickly passed us some information about their sale then went running along, he didn't even call someone over to help us out, I'd mention names if I knew it wouldn't get erased off the site. Anywho, since my purchase I have been back to Neemer for a few other things and the best part is that they remember you when you walk in the door, this is really important I think in maintaining a foundation of welcomed and respected customers.

We are extremely disappointed with how our deal ended up with this dealership. I would not recommend them and I find their dealings pretty insincere. I understand that things have a way of changing, but they never notified us that our monthly payment was going to be $100 more than what we had agreed upon. We went in to sign the papers and they tried to pull this over on us at this point in time. We didn't think that they were as honest with us as they could have been.

My fiance and i had done quite a bit of research on cars and generally knew what we were looking for before we decided to pay Nemer VW a visit. Michael walked right up to us and inquired our interest in VW and was very knowledgeable about the Tiguan that held our interest. Unlike many other dealerships, the sales staff at Nemer is relatively laid back. Devin McNamara sold us our car and patiently waited while we test drove a large number of candidate vehicles. He was knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Anyone would be lucky to have him as a representative.The only negative experience was that it took the dealership an inordinately long time to detail the car after we'd purchased it. While I understand that they were short on staff at the time, it seemed reflective of an asymmetry between pre- and post-sale helpfulness.

I bought a new vehicle from Nemer - so this was my experience with purchasing somthing NEW, not USED (i make this point, because buying a new car and buying a used car are two completely different ball games):I walked into Nemer knowing exactly what i wanted (TDI model) and told Bob C. Bob searched the inventory and they didn't have the car i wanted so he went out of his way to find the car at another dealership, had someone drive out and swap similar models (i wanted the TDI) and i had my new car within a little over a week. Nemer took care of EVERYTHING. From the time i called them to check inventory to the day i picked up the car, they were courteous, friendly, helpful, and they got me coffee from Starbucks across the street! Who does that? no one. I've dealt with 4 VW dealers in the last year and Nemer BY FAR was the best car dealership i have ever dealt with. They understand money, they understand your budget and do not force you into a situation that you walk away from feel uneasy.

BUYER BEWARE of any vehicle that you purchase from Nemer VW of Latham, NY. Better yet, RUN far away from them as fast as you can and purchase your VW from another VW dealer in the Albany, NY area.I purchased a used 2002 VW Beetle from Nemer in December 2008. The night I picked it up the ABS light came on. I went back in to complain and the Sales Manager, Daryl Bagby, convinced me to take the car and that they would fix the vehicle as it had a "VW Certified Warranty" on it. Two years later and over ten visits to their Service Department and the ABS light and brake problems are still not fixed. They have changed the ABS module, the ABS wiring harness, ABS sensors and countless other ABS parts numerous times and they cannot fix the LEMON. Granted I never had to pay anything for all this work but having the car out of service for weeks on end made owning this vehicle a living nightmare.Countless trips to the dealership to work out an arrangement to return this vehicle proved to be fruitless and they refused to make good and work with me on a purchase of a new vehicle to replace the LEMON they sold me in the first place. Their feeling was that they never charged me for any of the repairs so they did their part in keeping me happy.I finally got fed up with their constant run around and bought my daughter a new 2010 vehicle from another dealership who treats their customers with respect.Nemer VW in my opinion is a terrible dealership and you should consider my story as well as the others on this webpage as testimony to how bad you will be burned if you buy or service at Nemwer VW.

I have taken my vehicle (2007 Jetta) to Nemer twice for the same problem with my brakes. The rear brakes wear unevenly on the same side and this first happened at only 20,000 miles. Again, just like clockwork it happened again at 40,000 miles. Both times I had to argue, fight, and even call corporate to get a good response. The best I got was 1/2 off the price. Complete joke because both times the brakes were so bad it was a complete safety hazard to drive. As a matter of fact the first time it happened they said it was the brakes "cleaning themselves"... a month later I had no rear brakes.Even at 1/2 off I paid far too much. They don't do much to help you nor do they really care when the problem is so bad you can't take it somewhere else. I will not return to Nemer ever again. Oh - and for their "generosity" they kept asking me to give them a perfect review when corporate called me to check on how my experience was and they said anything less than the top score counted as bad. Seriously? I called corporate to complain and they then ask me to make it all better with corporate? Totally unprofessional.

Dis-Honest. I was 100% buying a VW the day I went in. Would not even give me a ballpark price unless I went inside and "sat down". I was looking for either a new or used Jetta. I had some questions about the price of used cars they had, but was told that before they would even approximate a price I had to go inside and fill out some paperwork. When I questioned why, the salesman told me that the price would depend on "different types of things" like "income, financing options, down payment". On a USED car?!?!?!. He asked me, "If I tell you a price that works for you, will you purchase the vehicle today?". "ABSOLUTELY, once I check and see if it is a good deal on my laptop (which I had with me) and be sure it checks out on Carfax.com", I responded. He then told me he could not even give me an idea of price range without going inside. Told me that I should have looked up prices before I came to the dealership.I asked about leases and options, salesman told me info that was not clearly not true. Such as a $179/month lease on an SE Jetta with only $2500 down. He said, "Lets go inside and put some things on paper and then we can see what comes up".I asked in any of the VW's come with remote start and salesman told me that they do not but Nemer could install aftermarket options on a leased vehicle "without a problem". But a remote start will void the warranty. When I asked the salesman about this he said that "We don't really service the warranties, so it does not really matter if a remote start is put in."Bottom line is that I left this dealership and went to another VW dealership in Rensselaer and bought a New 2009 Jetta SE. Nemer VW is dis-honest. Do not go here!!! There is another much better VW dealership in Rensselaer. Here's a tip... never go to a dealership that does not post the price of their used vehicles on the vehicle. They are trying to scam you.Nemer, if your salesman would have given me a price without having to "go inside, sit down, and do some paperwork" he would have sold the used vehicle for CASH (certified bank check) that day.

THE REAL NEMER hi, i have dealt with both sales and service and i would have to say it was nice to buy the car there. they gave me what i wanted for my trade and worked with me to finance a 2006 GTI there new body style they seemed to be so proud of. it WAS a nice car a with the 2.0T and all the nice options. that is where the story goes bad, first i had a problem with the service dept. when i had my first oil change at 5,000 miles. they did not know how to reset a computer that said that i still needed service. i had to come back the next day to have it reset, not so bad though. then came the real problems, iwas driving down the highway and my car just stoped running. i have it towed to nemer, this sucks it only has 5,751 miles on it. takes nemer 6 days to fix my fuel pump modulater,way 2 long to me. so i get the car back and i think oh well a fluke thing, but its not. second oil change 10,000miles, they didnt reset computer again, i had to leave it there for the weekend so not to go over the miles and void my warrinty. im pissed now. i get it back and its all good untill11,000 miles air bag system goes bad, now i could tell you the hole story but its to long. in short 3 rental cars and 1million phone calls later after 3 1/2 months of them fighting with me about fixing it, i am getting a 2007 because i had to threaten them with the lemon law. oh yea the rentals suck i bought a 24K car and got a KIA rio "SUCKS" an 8K car for a rental. had to complain about that untill i got a jetta. the service is slow and you have to wait forever for any results, dont expect to be treated nice if your car is covered by warranty or if u dont have alot of cash to hand to them. not friendly or timley DO NOT GET YOUR NEW CAR SERVICED THERE

Hi!My GF took her 00 Jetta to Nemer for parts/labour estimate for driver's side mirror. Just the cover and the mirror surface had to be replaced as the actual mirror motor was fine. Nevertheless, she was told it was just an "illusion" and she would have to spend $482 for repairs. The funny thing is that I called a few day later and I got a different quote ($72 lower) for the same issue. It means they are particularly bad to female customers. We took the car to Capital Cities VW (www.capitalcitiesvw.com) and got quoted $132 having friendly service and some extra freebies thrown in. Do I need to say more? Don't know much about sales but stay away from service department!
