We purchased a 2019 Chevy equinox May 2019. We got the vehicle regularly serviced by a local body shop we know and trust. About 6 months after owning the car, the local body shop reported oil leakage and provided photos. They advised we take it to a dealership to get it repaired under warranty. We bring it to Richard Chevy and show them photos. They denied any issues. We then bring it back to our local body shop next time the car is due for service. Again, they report oil leakage and to take it to Richard Chevy. We take it to Richard and they again deny any issues. They keep the car for a day to run tests and deny any issues. We continue to service the vehicle from Feb 2021-august 2021 and discontinue using them in august due to over priced service. We bring the equinox back to the local body shop and they again tell us there’s oil leakage. We provide them all we have done and what Richard Chevy has told us. The local body shop took the reigns and brought our vehicle to a DIFFERENT Chevy dealership. This new Chevy dealership confirms the problem and reports the engine needs to be taken out, the block needs to be resealed, and head gasket needs to be rebuilt. Never using Richard Chevy again.

I recieved a call from my sales guy (Howard Schiffres) at Richard Chevrolet and he informed me of some great deals that Richard Chevrolet had. At first I wasn't too interested so I said that I would think about it and call him back. A few days went by and Howard called me back, stating that I should just come in and see the offers that they had and make a decision from there and I agreed. When I arrived the type of pickup truck I wanted wasn't in stock at Richard Chevrolet, but I was told that it wasn't a big deal, cause they could ship it in from another dealer. I really didn't like the idea of that, so I ask what's on the lot. Howard spoke to a colleague and came back saying "Let's take a walk outside" and it was love at first sight, I immediately fell in love with my new truck. Howard and Dan (The financial guy) made sure that my experience was amazing from start to finish and I will always recommend Richard Chevrolet to any of my family, friends or even a complete stranger cause once you're with Richard Chevrolet you're a part of a family. Last week, our Silverado had a message we had not seen before. The diesel exhaust light and the engine light came on. I spoke with Sid and he suggested we put additional diesel exhaust in the vehicle and try taking the truck for a ride on the highway for over a half hour. The light continued to stay on so we brought the vehicle in for service. It turned out that the #2 sensor needed to be replaced on the vehicle. Thank goodness that is all it was!!

I was interested in a used mazda6 and contacted Richards Chevy on Thursday. I was told (1) the car was still there (2) it was recent trade in and therefore little negotiation in price and (3) someone would contact me if there was activity on the car. So far - fair enough. I have a busy travel schedule and was trying to see when I could get up there to see the car. I called on Saturday (less than 48 hours later) to make sure the car was available and was told it went to auction because there was no activity on the car and it had been around for months. Very confusing. Disorganized at best.

I can not thank Jef Dunphy and Richard Chevrolet enough. After totaling my 2012 Ford Focus, I was desperate to replace it ASAP. Debating between another Ford, or a Chevy, I shopped multiple dealerships online and over the phone for about a month before driving 25 minutes to Richard Chevrolet, where I purchased a stunning 2016 Chevy Malibu Premier. New to Connecticut, I knew exactly what I wanted, but did not know a reputable place to purchase the vehicle. I had another dealership, much closer to home, that was willing to match Richard's price. What that other dealership failed to match was the respectful, understanding, straightforward, un-intimidating approach that Jef and the staff at Richard Chevrolet took. They did not flood my inbox, push $25 gift cards, harass me with phone calls, push false advertisements, or pass me up the food chain to get more money out of me. From start to finish, I worked with Jef - who was straight to the point, transparent, and took the stress out of what was to that point such a stressful situation. Two hours after closing, and after a complete walk through of the vehicle and a late-night courtesy drive, I took the car home (and could not be happier). I will absolutely refer anyone looking to purchase a car to Richard Chevrolet.

I had heard of Richard Chevy before, but only browsed their online selection. One of my buddies had recently purchased his truck there through a sales person named Josh, so I called and made an appointment with him. When I went there in person, I really got an understanding of why they have been around for so long. Josh really knows his stuff - young, honest guy who really wanted to make sure he helped get the right truck for me. We took a few test drives and took a look at all my options. bought a demo model and got a pretty good price.. easy sales people to deal with.. however i took delivery on the car w 5700 miles on it and when i left the lot the oil change light came on and i didnt think it should have been my responsibility.. i felt it should have been take. care of prior to delivery.. Also the next day the car said "service stabilitrac" amd the car started skippig and bucking.. brought it in for service and was told they couldnt fix it b/c the light went off and i had to drive it around until the light came back on. wth???

My fiance wanted a new car and I had previously done business with Richards Chevorlet before and I was very satisfied with my experience so I decided to return back to them. I had scheduled an appointment with a sales guy for a certain day and upon my arrival I was told that he wasn't in, at first I was very upset because I ask him if the day I scheduled was ok for him and he stated "Yes". I was then ask if I was interested in speaking with another sales guy, at first I was very reluctant, but it was the greatest decision I had made. I live in Massachuttes and was looking for a specific vehicle with certain amenities. (2014 Chevy Equinox, moon roof and car starter and cloth seats) preferably CPO. I located one approximately 50miles from my home, at Richard Chevrolet. It had all I wanted except it wasn't CPO. After reading reviews on the buisness and coming across several excellent ones for Kyle Gardner, I gave them a call and asked for him. From the first contact Kyle was knowedgle, helpful, friendly an even had a great sense of humor :-) I made an appointment to meet with him that Monday as there was a snowstorm that weekend and he suggested that I wait to come there when it was over..When meeting with Kyle on Monday he was very pleasant, had the vehicle available and ready for the test drive. He answered all my questions and even went to find the answers for the very few that he didn't know off hand! He assisted in trying to procure financing for the vehicle and even gave me a few tips in the process! You could clearly tell Klye loves his job and goes the extra mile for his customers... With a smile on his face! . I knew Monday that I would be giving Kyle the sale that he so digently worked on to help me with. Kyle also worked to get my car certified (CPO) prior to purchase so that I may have the extended GM warranty. Living in a different state Klye also assisted in transfer of plates and registration from my former car to my newly purchased one. Who isn't thankful for a a saved trip to the DMV! I picked up my car that following Thursday and in between I had several questions that Kyle promptly returned emails and phone calls to assist with. I've never had a purchase I've felt so confident in it. Kyle made the buying experience as pleasurable as possible. No pressure, no mis information, no tricks or tactics. If you want a knowledgable salesman Kyle is the guy to go to!! I would absolutely highly recommend him to anyone looking for a car. Hats off to Kyle for a job well done!

We first called this dealership to confirm that the car they had listed on their website was still available. After some time on hold, the assured us that it was. When we arrived in the showroom, the only thing we were greeted with was the smell of body odor. No secretary, salesman or manager came and talked to us as we waited by the front desk for close to 15 mins. When we finally flagged someone down and asked about the vehicle we came to see, they told us it had already been sold. When we talked to the salesman we had talked to on the phone, he told us their system was slow to update, so they didn't know it had sold. All of this for driving 40 mins out of our way. Terrible service.

I had gone to at least three dealerships prior to this one. They all gave me the same old song and dance I have always received. Upon going into Richards I found myself thinking here we go again. I was wrong. Despite several mistakes on my end Joshua Demaio was more than informative and helpful. Not once did I feel like I was being ripped off as I sold my car to them. In fact (now that the sale is final) I totally feel like I came out on top and I never had to haggle. I was given a very reasonable offer on my car and was sold a used one, that after many hours of research I know I was given a fair deal. this is the second and last vehicle i will buy and i will not return. The first vehicle I bought was registered through the dealership and they spelled my street name wrong, so when it came time for renewal the mail didnt make it to my house. Not knowing this I drove around in an unregistered vehicle for about a year until a state cop pulled me over for an expired registration and gave me a $120 ticket, thanks Richard. My new 2015 silverado which cost $42000 doesnt run properly, the engine tachometer surges up and down about 75-100 rpm, I brought it in and they checked for codes, found none and told me it is normal. It is not normal. I told them to escalate my problem up to GM for a fix and they told me nothing is known about my problem. I told them that was unacceptable and they need to address my concern. At this point the service manager and the service writers are not very pleasant and are not accommodating,I will persist until this is corrected or they take it back under the Lemon Law. Last GM I buy!

I was surprised, but they did not want to haggle in the least. So what could have been a good deal if I had gotten them down another few hundred dollars became a lost sale.Salesman Roger was very nice to deal with. I found the car I wanted online and came all the way from Bethel to Richard Chevy. The price was more than fair and everyone was really friendly. They did everything they could to make the price work for me. I would definitely go back for my next car.

I cannot say enough about my experience with Ryan and Dan at Richard Chevrolet and 321 Rebuild. After five years of struggling with bills as a single mom, I recently declared bankruptcy. I didn't have the means to buy a used car with cash and I owed too much on my previous car to trade in. 321Rebuild directed me right to Ryan on a Wednesday at 12:30pm and by 6:00pm the deal was done. I went into Richard Chevrolet to look at a 2015 Equinox. I was quickly helped and met with Angelo Epifano. He sat down with my husband and I and explained the different trim levels and features of each model. We went for a test drive and really enjoyed how the Equinox handled on different road surfaces. When we went back to the dealership Angelo provided us with payments for a lease and finance. I really like how Richard Chevrolet shows you a printed sheet of paper with all the price information from the total cost of the vehicle, rebates, taxes, etc. instead of the magic marker scribble most dealers show you and you can't tell what the price per month is or what the list price of the vehicle is. Richard breaks down the information so you never have to wonder what you really are paying for there is no surprising when you go to sign the papers!! At no point during this process did I feel pressured to purchase the vehicle. Richard Chevy doesn't pressure you in any way. The color Equinox I wanted wasn't on the lot and Angelo said no problem we will locate one for you. The next day Angelo called and was able to locate my Equinox and later that evening I picked up my car. A few days later I wasn't happy with how my seat felt and how the car rode it wasn't comfortable at all. I reached out to Angelo and he offered to go on a test drive with me to see if he could notice anything. Angelo was really helpful and adjusted my seat to see if that would help me. A few days later I received an email from Jill Silverman the Asst Manager asking how my experience was. I explained to her how I wasn't happy with my purchase and she really took the time to listen to my concerns. She immediately said she would reach out to a company and see if they could help me. Jill contacted me back the next day and set up an appointment for me to meet with a company that can customize seats. I went into the dealership this past Saturday met with the company and Jeff Siegal. I sat down with Jeff and went over my options. Jeff was beyond helpful and arranged an appointment for me to get my seat fixed. Richard Chevrolet is the best car dealership I have ever gone to. There is no pressure and they listen to your concerns. I can't wait to get my car seat fixed and drive me new Equinox!! Richard Chevy I can't thank you enough for being so helpful and really wanting to find a solution for me to make sure I'm happy!!! When you go to Richard Chevy make sure you ask for Angelo Epifano.

After talking with the Chevy dealers in RI & Mass, they all had similar trucks but were not willing to work on the price. We did our research and established a target price. A few emails were sent back and forth and shortly came to an agreement for the exact truck/color we wanted. Had a chance to look at several vehicles. We never felt rushed or pressured. Being Friday night we asked for his card and said we would be back Saturday afternoon. When we arrived we had narrowed our search down. He took us inside and we were informed of all the options we had and any questions were answered very thoroughly. After picking out the style vehicle we went for a test drive. Loved the SUV! Went to this dealership to look at a used vehicle. We were absolutely interested in purchasing the vehicle and had a very pleasant experience working with the sales associate. Unfortunately when it came time to discuss trade in value and negotiate a deal with the manager, it did not work out. We received a call that the price was a few thousand dollars away from our bottom line and that was it. We did not receive a follow up call or another counter offer. I wonder if it was worth it to lose a customer over a few thousand dollars.

I needed to get my tires replaced so I had told Richards I needed four done. They ordered the four tires for me, but upon further inspection of my back tires I did not need them replaced. Someone from the service department checked them out too and although he had ordered four tires for me he agreed that two didn't need to be done. He did not try to pressure me into buying something that I didn't need (and really couldn't afford) which has happened at other places. I really appreciated that.

I dealt with Colin Fletcher for the sale of my used vehicle. Colin was very professional. He was patient even though I was still a month from being able to make a purchase, and never felt pressured to make a decision. It just so happened that a month after making my purchase we had a warm day with alot of humidity, so naturally I went to turn on the ac, and it started blowing out warm air. Then later in the week the check engine light came on. I brought the vehicle in on a Tuesday morning. I was never given a time frame when the vehicle would be ready. I finally received a call from Sid around 4:15 in the afternoon saying that the vehicle was all set and that he'd prefer the vehicle stayed overnight so that they could ensure the check engine light wouldn't come on. I arrive on wednesday morning to be told that the vehicle is still being worked on and was asked if I needed a ride back to my house. I was later told that they were waiting for seals to the compressor cause they had ordered the wrong ones. So for the sales aspect, I would say that the staff was friendly and helpful and deserve five stars. Unfortunately the service department drops my rating as they seem lackadaisical since it's an issue that I feel wasn't checked during pre-sale inspection. I spent two full days without a vehicle and spent $40 to rent a vehicle to run errands on the one day I had off. Good thing I'm not paying for the repairs due to the warranty that came with the car upon purchase.Update(6/04/14): Brought the vehicle in to a local place to have the oil changed and was told that the a/c needed to be charged.

I have one problem ! Am looking for a small Pick Up make GM . But I cant find one with good gas mileage .. I wish they would start making a small light duty truck with good gas mileage . Take the C/K 1500 model , make a 500 to add to your line up of Chevy trucks . We need better mileage . Where do I begin. First Jeff in service was very professional and courteous. Our Traverse suddenly flashed the dreaded check engine light. Jeff got us right in and they diagnosed the problem quickly. The repair to fix the problem was to take a couple of days and Jeff put us in touch with Tony in rentals to get us a loaner Traverse. Tony was excellent and got us on our way without issue. Jeff communicated to us the progress regarding the repair and explained the warranty with GM would cover the repair. Jeff worked with GM to make sure we were covered by warranty there were no surprises! Very pleased with the effort by all involved to minimize the impact of being without our vehicle.

I am completely satisfied working with Carrie. I feel that she values me as a repeat customer and was genuinely concerned that I had a faulty part replaced with a faulty part (which is now corrected). I will caution the dealership that when a customer comes in, the people behind the desk should remove scowls from their faces and should be a little more welcoming (not brushing me off before I could get my last name and vehicle model out of my mouth). I colleague of mine is in the market for a new car and wanted to know if I recommended Richard Chevrolet as one of my other colleagues had a terrible experience with you. Truck will have to be returned, transmission recall completed, now there is a noise not noticed prior to recall service!Also, I don't understand how an air filter and cabin filter would need to be replaced at 13,300 miles. This was a demo vehicle with 7400 miles on it. I don't understand why these items were not serviced prior to delivery of a DEMO vehicle! Since, delivery the vehicle has NOT been through ANY driving that would cause the filters to become so filthy they need to be replaced at 13K miles!!!

I would consider my experience with Richard Chevrolet to have been an unpleasant one to say the least. The initial contact and purchase was very good, however, after I drove the vehicle off the lot it appears that I was no longer deserving of their customer service. Below, in quotations, is an email that I sent to the owner of the dealership, Richard Jaffe, after two weeks of getting nowhere with his staff. It will sum up my experience very well."Dear Mr. Jaffe,I regret having to write you this email but I've gotten nowhere with your employees to date and I am requesting your assistance to resolve this matter. Of note, to date, I have spoken with Dan Alkas, Jay Seely, Jeff Segal and George Fogarty. I purchased a 2007 Chevy Suburban LTZ 2 weeks ago. Upon inspection of the vehicle I noticed that a wire was hanging from the rear window. It was at that time that I was told by salesman, Jim Kubikza, that the rear glass needed to be replaced due to a defective window defroster cable. I was told that this would be taken care of on an expeditious basis. Upon inspection of the engine compartment, I noticed that the plastic engine cover was missing, allowing the intake, alternator, etc. to be exposed. When I brought this to Jim's attention, he advised that he would have one ordered and delivered immediately from your parts department. To date, neither promise has been satisfied by your dealership, despite my numerous attempts with those listed above.After calls to Dan and Jeff over the last week, I was told that the rear glass was on order and would be installed by Payless Auto Glass. After much frustration, I again contacted your dealership and was able to speak with Jay on 03/05 who was able to coordinate an install for 03/06 at my house. I received a call from Payless to confirm my appointment and some information about the glass. When I arrived home from work on 03/06, I arrived to find a note attached to my rear window advising " have to come back, wrong glass, need more info". I immediately called the number that was left on the note (203-***-****). The voice mailbox was full and was not accepting further messages. I again called your dealership and spoke with George to explain the situation and my disappointment. He provided me with another Payless phone number (860-***-****). A George answered the phone and advised that he could not help me and provided me with the cell phone number of a Jimmy Martinez at Payless (203-***-****). This number also led me to a voice mailbox that was full and not accepting messages. I again called your dealership and spoke with Jeff Segal. He advised that he is not working on 03/07 but would try his best to assist me; this was as of 6:30pm on 03/06.Needless to say, I am extremely frustrated at the lack of customer service I have received having spent $20K at your dealership 2 weeks ago. Personally, I believe that the vehicle should never have left your lot without the rear window already replaced but I accepted that it would be done quickly based on what I was told at the time of purchase. Having waited two weeks already, I feel that I am well within my rights to request from you that my rear window be replaced today (03/07). I obviously have little faith in Payless so I would ask that you consider using Safelite Auto Glass to perform this work. I have contacted them myself and they have advised that they have my rear window in stock in their North Haven location. Attached is the "WE OWE" notice that I received on 02/22/2014, signed by Dan Alkas. This has not been a pleasant car-buying experience and I am sure that, as the owner, your highest priority is to make certain that your customers are well taken care of and that the promises made by your employees are kept. I mean no disrespect but over the last week I've heard nothing but excuses as to why the glass wasn't in stock and when it miraculously appeared, it ends up being the wrong product. Also, as the customer, I didn't appreciate having to attempt to contact Payless myself considering that this is the glass vendor of your choice, not mine.As I stated above, I personally contacted Safelite and was sent a confirmation email and a work order number that your dealership could use to authorize my installation. Here is a portion of the email that I received:"Interested in scheduling the appointment above? It's easy!Simply call 800-800-2727 and reference work order number 01871-493860. In most cases, we can get you scheduled for service to be completed the same or very next day."I have very limited access to a borrowed second vehicle. I work in Hartford and will be able to use it tomorrow so that my Suburban can be at my home address of *****************. I would imagine that this installation could easily be scheduled by you and completed while I am at work today, 03/07/2014. I would also appreciate you looking into the engine cover as well. I can be reached at 203-***-**** and would greatly appreciate a call from you to discuss the issue at hand.Again, the Suburban will be left unlocked and at my home address all day today, 03/07/2014, and I respectfully request that the installation take place regardless of what lengths you must go to. I chose your dealership to make my purchase and would appreciate the customer service that each of your buyers should receive, and the type of service that I'm sure you strive to provide as the owner.Please contact me after receipt of this letter. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely,Gary ****** " (end quotation)As of today, 03/11/2014, the glass has been sucessfully installed and the engine cover received. I'm obviously upset about the above but what upsets me the most is that the owner, Mr. Jaffe, never even gave me the courtesy of a return email or call. I feel that I was forced to struggle to coordinate things that were promised by the dealership at the time of purchase. I don't expect perfection and I realize that things happen and people make mistakes but after two weeks of calling and speaking with everyone with any authority at Richard Chevrolet, nothing was done until 03/07/2011 after a purchase date of 02/21/2011. And the blatent lack of respect shown by Mr. Jaffe to not respond to a "valued customer" left me with a sour taste in my mouth and I will never return to this dealership for anything nor will I recommend them to anyone in the future. Of note, ironically, I received an email from my initial salesman, Jim Kubicza, yeaterday (03/10/2014) asking me how the window installation went. I replied to him immediately and told him how on Sunday, 03/09/2014 I was left stranded after the starter motor went on the Suburban. Given what I feel was a lack of customer service to date, I asked Jim if the dealership might consider adding the cost of the starter motor on to the 30-day warranty and issuing me some type of reimbursement. I didn't ask for a dime for the tow or the installation of the part. To date, I have not received a response from Jim and given the lack of service/response from Richard Chevrolet, I don't expect one. I anticipate a response from Richard Chevrolet to this negative review and I look forward to what further excuses might be given to justify the events described above. Ironically, I'd be willing to bet that their response to this post will come significantly quicker than any response I've ever received from them regarding my issues.A Very Dissatisfied "former" Customer....

Also, I had been told that if I ever came, there would be coffee and bagels... ( good incentive to get us in! )... which I was offered... but there was only 1 lone bagel, exposed to the air when I looked over.... So was a teeny bit disappointed! The sales experience was very smooth. If I were to compare it to a previous experience I would say it was better than my 2 Saturn experiences (I purchased 2 Saturn vehicles). That is a very high bar to beat.Even though it was the end of the month and was very, very busy (always a good thing) Roger went out of his way to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Chris in Finance was excellent. He was 100% prepped for my arrival on Thursday morning to sign the papers and drive away in my brand new car. He explained every step, summarized the paper I was about to sign and was very patient as I did my own quick review (something my father taught me to do - always read before you sign).On top of all that, I got an excellent price for my trade-in.And as always, everyone I interacted with (both in person and on the phone) was courteous, kind and professional in every sense of the word. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the beautiful, updated showroom and the customer service desk. We were only out to look at the traverse and see what we were going to be able to afford. Angelo was great! He explained all the different options with the different models of the traverse, and gave us a good understanding of how a lease works compared to buying. He answered all of our questions, he was easy going, and above all not pushy. We ended up getting a really great deal that fit right into our budget, and we now have the suv with the space we need for our growing family! Of course, Chris in financing was the one who was able to get us the approval from the bank, and working with him couldn't have been easier. I bought my previous car here in 2003, and had a great experience then, and even better one this time. Richards completely lives up to the positive reputation they've had for years. We love our traverse, and will definitely be back when the time comes again down the road, but until then we will absolutely refer our friends and family!

Received a call during the day describing the working being done and some recommended service I was unaware off that need to be addressed also. I Was able to pick my car up after service hours and everything that was needed to be done, DONE!!! Great service by all!!!

Having to buy a new car was not part of my plan but after having the same car for almost 11 years it was time to say good bye. I knew I wanted a Chevy (cause Im a Chevy girl) and so my search began. I was excited to buy a new car but after dealing with multiple other dealerships my excitement turned to frustration and sadness as each person I spoke with was pushy, not helpful or just plain rude. Those of you who have purchased a car may know what Im talking about. For example the salesman who says repeatedly I can have the car ready for you today after talking to you for only 5 minutes. Or the salesman that calls to say the car you put a deposit on is no longer available but they have another one coming in a different color that doesnt even apologize and gives you attitude when you want your deposit refunded. This was NOT the case at Richard Chevrolet. Angelo Epifano was amazing. He was informative and incredibly helpful. He took his time to really talk me through everything and he turned what was a horrible experience so far into a happy experience. You can really tell he loves what he does but most importantly he loves to help people. He was able to find me my dream vehicle with everything I wanted so I am now the proud owner of a new 2014 Equinox. Words cannot express how thankful I am. I can honestly say I will be recommending Richard Chevrolet and especially Angelo.

I needed a new vehicle after my truck of 14 years finally needed repairs more costly than it was worth. I wasn't even thinking of a Chevy, but my father had bought two from Richard and the wife and I stopped in to look at crossovers. Angelo Epifano came out to meet us and spent some time getting to know our situation and what we were looking for going forward. He showed me the Equinox and took us out for a test drive. He won over my wife first by letting her ride in the front and won over the kids by spending time listening to them in the back seat. After we left I was upfront with Angelo that I was going to be looking at other cars to ensure we were making the right decision. After shopping around I back got in touch with Angelo and let him know that I wanted to lease a new Equinox after he went through the options of a lease versus finance with my wife and I. He was never pushy or frustrated as we went through the fine points of the red tape involved and Dan in the finance office was a tremendous help. Overall the experience was fantastic and I have already referred friends to the dealership. One of which has already purchased a new car. Keep up the good work Richard!

If you do choose to buy a car here, I suggest that you ask for him, he is the best! We brought our four year old daughter with us. If you are a parent of a young child you will understand how hard it can be to do anything that requires you to sit for a long period of time. But Jim walked over to my daughter with crayons, a coloring book and a smile. He even allowed her to watch Thomas the Tank on his I Phone! To Whom It May Concern, My daughter was arriving from Dubai with our 1 year old granddaughter. My Navigator was 10 years old and falling apart. I had to do something about acquiring a safe vehicle. I hadnt proceeded any further than wandering around the internet. The Equinox caught my eye. My sister owns one and it was the best value of 2013. I thought this was a practical car. It had all the bells and whistles that my navigator had but was not a gas guzzler. I spoke with Jason Vianese at Richards Chevy in Cheshire, Ct. I told him my predicament, which was that I wanted to buy a car but I didn't have hours to spend running to dealerships and test driving cars and spending way too much time listening to a sale pitch. I didn't have time to research my credit situation. I gave Jason the information he needed. He told me to go online and put together a wish list of what I wanted in my car. I emailed the wish list to him and the next thing I knew a whole team of people appeared to be working 24/7 to find me exactly what I wanted. It seemed like every day I would get an update on the progress. They did it! It was painless. They put together a loan package that met the criteria I gave them. They found an Equinox with everything that was on my wish list and it was here in time for my granddaughters visit. It was the best car buying experience I have ever had because I didn't have to actually get involved in the car buying experience. I recommend Richards Chevy to anyone who wants a painless experience and a great vehicle.

Prior to writing my original review on here (Sept 4) I had also sent an email to the dealer about my bad follow up experience with my 2007 Explorer. Well today I got a phone call from the service manager with an apology. He went WAY ABOVE and beyond what I expected to make up for the inconvience we went through. They are dropping a loaner off at my house, so we don't need to make the trip back to the dealer and wait around for them to see what the issue is with the car. WOW. That is the customer service I expected the first time, but I am willing to let it go based on their follow-up to make it right. Everybody makes mistakes. I am very please with how quickly and the way they addressed my concern and their desire to make sure I am a satisfied customer. The buying experience was great and now they have showed me they care about me after the sale. They will now be the first place I will go when I need another vehicle, new or used.

Bought a used 2007 Explorer with 50,000 miles. About a month after purchase the Airbag light came on and we discovered the power passenger seat didn't work (hadn't tried to move it prior to that). When we called to ask if anything was covered, they said no, it was out of warrenty. We then asked if they would at least check it out, no charge, and tell us what was wrong. They said yes and my wife set up an appointment. When she got there today, they told her we would be charged for the diagnostic fee, but they would reduce it 50%. Gee thanks 40 miles each way. A waste of a day and gas. I wasn't asking for the world. I understand a Used car can have things go wrong shortly after the purchase. If they were a dealer who wanted my repeat business, they would have at least told me the issues. In my opinion they did NOTHING to go beyond the sale. A 50% reduction in a Dealer's hourly rate is what any good mechanic will charge. I'd rather give my local guy the business as he will go the extra mile so I come back.

Went to look at a used vehicle and took it for a test drive. The older salesman on whom I was pawned off was condescending to me and spoke to my son almost the entire time, although he knew that the car was to be for me. I eventually had to blurt out to look at ME, not at my son! I was deeply insulted. They also refused to budge, even one penny, on the price. I shall never go back there.

While looking for a car for my daughter, Kim, we did visit Richard Chevrolet. The greeting was pleasant and we were hooked up to a salesperson within minutes of entering the dealership. We explained our desires and were given numerous alternatives. We test drove a few autos but were no interested because of monthly payments. We did return to look at a certain vehicle but never talked to our salesperson and ended up leaving..all was great at the dealership and would recommend them to people I know. Thanks Ray

this is the 2nd time i have brought my car in for service, first time i needed engine work, i received absolutely no communication about what was wrong with my car for 3 days, after calling them on the 4th day, they told me that there is a blown bearing and GM was going to determine either to replace to engine or repair it. As of this time they gave me a loaner car. a week goes by still no update, call back and they said they are rebuilding the engine and it should be ready tomorrow, 2 days later it was ready. Fully covered by GM warranty. but as i pull out of the driveway and drive down the road i notice my headlights werent working. so i turned around and went back. Some how they broke the wires going from my ballasts to the headlights and therefore giving me no lights. they were able to get one working till i could get replacement HID's that i had to buy. They chaged me $100 to replace and install new ones. thought that was the end of it. NOPE for some reason they did not adjust the headlights while they put new ones in, so i had one aiming at the sky and left. So back again, took my whole front end apart and 2 hours later, my headlights are adjusted. But now they are low.so my next visit was over the past few days. brought it in for a shaking in the car and a P0420 error with a service engine soon light, per onstar this was the error code stating it was the catalytic converter and they would send the report over to Richard Chevrolet. So i get a call from them stating that it would be $98 charge for diaganose for the error code, i asked why, i gave it to you with onstar and you came up with exact same code? so i have to fight to get some of the fee reversed.so carrie says the tires needed to be balanced at $40, i asked is the vibration/shaking gone, she stated yes. So i pick up the car and low and behold it still shakes. so i look at the report they gave me and it says rear tires abnormally worn and need to be replaced. Now i have a tire and wheel warranty with this dealership. So i called them this morning to ask why i wasnt told about the tires and why was i told the car no longer shook when i drive it. it took several hours to get an answer and i was dealing with Rick. he was very helpful but now i have to bring the car back again on my next day off to get new tires. so yet again, they failed to solve my vehicle issues on one visit and failed to comunicate any and all issues with me.Rick was very nice and helpful, but i should not have to bring back my vehicle more than one for the same issue, nor should i have a new issue arise from a repair that has nothing to do with what they worked on. they are at least making an effort, i will update after my next appointment for my tires.

Recently bought a mustang from this dealer. They wouldn't budge on the price, however i wanted the mustang very bad, so i purchased it. After less than a year of owning it i needed something better on gas so i decided to shop for a new car. After getting an appraisal for the mustang i purchased for almost 14,000 from richard chevrolet, i was informed that the car was worth 5,000 dollars because it was in an accident. Although they did show me a car fax report at richard chevrolet they still sold me, someone with minimal car buying experience, a car that was worth 5,0000 dollars for 14,000 dollars. I expect to get the run around from every car salesman however this was very upsetting to me now that im 11,000 dollars in the hole. I wouldnt trust this dealer.

The transmission went in my 2008 equinox on a Thursday night. I phoned Ruchard Chevrolet the following morning at 7:15 am my car was already being looked at and Carrie the service rep that was handling my car stated she would have a rental car already for me when I got there. I went there Friday afternoon the rental was ready and Carrie had the low down on my car. Carrie phoned me on monday and stated that car would be ready Tuesday. I went to the dealership Tuesday afternoon, Carrie took the time explained to me what went wrong and what was covered under my warrenty. Unfortunetly on Wednesday morning the engine light went on and I phoned Carrie again. Carrie said to bring it right in they would look at it. Apparently when they re did the transmission all the codes cleared and they did not notice the catalytic converter and O2 sensors were bad. The parts were orderd and my car will be going back on Friday to have them installed. I was very please with not only the Service representative but also the technician that looked at my car when I brought it in, the technician explained what was wrong and appologized for them not taking care of this before. I am truely impressed with the all around service at Richard Chevrolet, everyone there was very pleasent and professional.

I called to find an out if they could find a front end noise on my 2007 impala. I was told to bring it in the following day. My service rep Patrick kept me in the loop of possible issues and how much the cost for parts and labor. Patrick called me when the car was fixed and stated the mechanic found another noise and fixed that issue too. Very professional service. The car runs like new.

I just leased a 2012 Chevy Equinox from Jim Kubicza, Account Executive and Dan Alkas, Finance Manager who both made it possible, they understood I just needed a break, a place to start, like so many others during this long time of financial issues. GM was looking to help good people who need an opportunity to lease or purchase their next vehicle. I found that opportunity at Richard Chevrolet, and what a wonderful experience!Jim had come highly recommended by close friends of mine, my friend leased her car, her husband bought his truck there. I had a 1998 Chevy Malibu with 179,000 miles and knew it was time for a newer vehicle before any more car repairs. Having decided to lease; I wanted an SUV, the Equinox was perfect. I was first assisted by Rick who spent time with me even though I had told him I was referred to Jim; 'no problem' was Rick's comment, "I'll be glad to help". The process was started! My next visit was with Jim; who proved he definately deserved the "Mark of Excellence" award! Jim listened to what I was looking for, offered suggestions, information, and never pushed me to make a decision immediately. Jim delivered outstanding customer service, as did all of his colleagues at Richard Chevrolet. After working thru the financial maze; Jim and Dan worked diligently on my behalf to make my Equinox lease possible. They shared my excitement when I was there to sign the papers and pick up my Equinox. Rick greeted me when I came in and put the license plates on my new ride. A true team effort from everyone at Richard Chevrolet; from Nancy at the front desk, to Jeffrey the General Sales Manager and everyone in the sales office. My test drive in the Equinox proved that was the vehicle for me! Jim explained all the buttons, lights, and features in the SUV after the test ride, and again the day I picked up my car. He took the time, a few minutes, to set up the radio (not a big deal to most but it would have taken me much longer), explain XM satellite radio service, provided for 3 months, Onstar service for 6 months. We looked at a used 2003 GMC Sierra on 8/29/12 and agreed to the purchase terms as this truck was being sold as a "wholesale" vehicle. We were informed by the salesman that "wholesale" meant the vehicle were tagged as unfit for the road and if we wanted to purchase the truck we would have to have a safety inspection and have it certified as "fit for the road". We were told that we had to complete the sales transaction within 48 hours. We put down a $200 deposit, of which $100 would go toward the "safety inspection". We used their dealer recommended garage and had over $600 dollars worth of work done to have the truck receive a passing safety inspection. We were contacted several times by the salesman wanting to make sure we would complete the transaction within 48 hours. We called our insurance carrier and had the insurance transferred from our current vehicle (that we were trading in)to the new truck in anticipation of completing the transaction and taking the truck to get it registered. We called Roger from the road to let him know we were on our way up. When we got there Roger informed us there was a small "hiccup". Roger told us there was a payoff on the truck and they did not have the title. Roger told us that we could sign the title to our trade-in over to them and we they would give us dealer plates so we could continue driving. He said he did not want us to be without a vehicle but when we went to speak to Sean in F&I and he informed us that because we did not have collision coverage on the truck they could not allow us to use the dealer plates on the van. He said all he could do was take our payment on the truck. REALLY???? The dealership expected us to pay for a truck that we would not get the title to? We would not be able to register it without the title. Sean informed us they had payed of the loan on 8/20/12 and that it takes the bank two to three weeks to send the title. THAT WAS 9 DAYS BEFORE WE EVEN LOOKED AT THE TRUCK. DIDN'T ANYONE NOTICE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE TITLE WHEN THEY SOLD US THE TRUCK?To add insult to injury on 9/5/12 we received a call from Jeff Segal asking if we were moving forward with the purchase as he had another party that was interested in the truck. Do they not speak to each other? Are their records not computerized?We have already spent over $700 dollars and have nothing to show for it. As of 9/5/12 we are still waiting for the title so we can complete the sale. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone.

Recently I purchased a previously owned 2010 Chevy Silverado LTZ. I dealt with Roger Hill for the sale of the truck. Roger was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and was able to answer all of my questions(most before even asking them). He spent quality time with me after the purchase to show me how options on the truck worked. I felt I was treated the same as is if I had purchased a new vehicle(which I will do when my wife is ready for a car). Everthing was ready on time and everything we talked about was followed through. By the time I left the day I picked up the truck I had no questions left unanswered. We just bought a new Chevy Traverse from Roger Hill, of Richard Chevrolet, and what a wonderful experience!Roger had come highly recommended, and he certainly delivered outstanding customer service, as did all of his colleagues at Richard Chevrolet. Everyone acknowledged us when we came into the dealership, they were all friendly and smiling.Roger assisted us in trying to figure out what the right car was for us. He was informative, and never tried to push us into buying a car. He gave us information and wanted us to make an educated, buying decision.There is a reason that Roger is a "Mark of Excellence" award winner!Richard Chevrolet did not have the exact car that we wanted, but Roger utilized the "dealer locate" option to get the car for us. Roger spoke to the dealer the next day, made the trade and the car was picked up the next day!We had the opportunity to meet the Sales Manager, Jay as well.We also liked how thorough the process was when we picked up the car. The other day I decided to stop into Richard Chevrolet to "window" shop and take a look at different possible SUV options. I was hesitant at first, but was sure glad I did. We were greeted by a pleasant salesman named Roger Hill. He was knowledgeable, professional and listen to what we were looking for. Bought my last truck from Richard Chevrolet 3 years ago and had such a great experience I came back for truck #3. Unfortunately my original sales person was no longer with the dealership so I met with Roger instead. Even though it was late in the day, Roger took the time to do a test drive, go over all the features of the truck and worked on pricing. It took me a week to decide and when I was ready to buy, he put together a great deal for me. Although I have purchased vehicles from other dealers in the past, Roger is the reason that I will keep comming back to Richard Chevrolet. So many dealers don't take a woman seriously however I felt respected the moment I walked in the door.I highly recommend seeing Roger if you are in need of a car or truck and am telling all my friends and family to go see him. And when it is time for me to get another, I will be back to see Roger again.

Four years ago I had brought a 2008 Chevy Cobalt at Richards Chevrolet and I could not believe how great they were to me they gave me a good deal and had me in my cobalt within a day, last week we decided it was time to trade the cobalt in we were so satified with Richards the last time we went back there again we talked to Howard and Jay they answered all our questions and got us a really good deal on a Chevy Cruze which I absolutely love. Driving to work on Jan.29,2012, I could'nt imagine being hit by a drunk driver at 5am, but it happened. My 2006 chevy malibu was totalled. I had just finished making my last payment in Oct. & was experiencing financial freedom that I had been looking for. Right after the accident, all I kept thinking about is how I was going to be able to get another car that was going to be affordable or what I was probably going to have to settle for. a few days later I called Richard chevrolet to talk to salesman Tim Wedge, who I have had the pleasure of doing business with for many years. I have always walked out of Richards very happy and loved every vehicle I ever purchased. I didnt quite know what he would be able to do for me but after that phone call, I was feeling much better about my situation. I met with him at the end of the week and he was able to put me in a brand new 2012 malibu that was EXTREMELY affordable for me and that I just loved. I even picked up the car the next day...WOW!!There was never a doubt in my mind that I would be going back to visit all my friends at Richard Chevrolet. I recommend them highly and I have no doubt that I will continue to do business with them in the future. There is no other car dealership for me and kudos need to go out to all the great people that work there. Thats what makesthis dealership successful. Richard Jaffe should be proud! My experience at Richard Chevrolet was pleasant, I was immediately introduced to Tim Wedge and explained to him that I was interested in looking at a Malibu and the Equinox. He showed me what they had on the lot for the Equinox. I was not to much of a fan for the colors he showed me.(White, Black & Silver). I told him I currently own a grey Malibu. He showed me a brownish color Equinox and took me on a test drive. He told me with the items I specified I wanted in the car he could get it for me in New York. I said okay but would have to see it first. (I was really thinking it would be a color I would get tired of.) The next day Tim called me and told me the car was sold but he went out of his way searching on the computer all day and found another with everything I asked plus it was a new grey for 2012. I said I would have to see it before a final decision, so he had it brought to Richard Chevrolet. It was everything I could ask for.On the otherhand, I did ask to see the Malibu when I came, but never got the opportunity to see any. Tim was keeping me focused on the Equinox. Now that I have had the car for a week, I know I made the right decision. I love it.Thank you Tim.

After a terrible experience at another chevy dealer where we were not kept informed. We were told that the car was ours. We even offered to put 1500.00 down and they sold the vehicle right out from under us. So needless to say we were not happy. Richards Chevrolet took good care of us. My experience at Richard Chevrolet was awesome! Jim made me feel comfortable and confident in the car that I was buying (a Chevy Cruze LTZ). He was knowledgeable about all of the bells and whistles that my car came with and took the time to give me a detailed lesson on the car before my test drive. He did his very best to accomodate any requests that I had and made himself available to me for almost the entire week that I was looking for a car. As a first time car buyer, I did not feel pressure, but happiness each time I went to Richard Chevy.Jim Kubicza's customer service skills are amazing. From beginning to end Jim was great. He was understanding of my situation and was helpful with all my questions and was consistently checking to see if there was anything else he could do to help me through the process or make me happier. I only have one complaint and it has nothing to do with Jim. The dealership received the check for my vehicle the day after i purchased it but did not call me to complete the registration until almost 6 days later and i think that that should be something that whomever receives the checks stays more on top of so the customer isnt left waiting to receive a call hoping to get the purchase and registration so long. Otherwise the experience was fantastic overall and i look forward to doing business with Jim and Richard Chevrolet again in the future.

I was very happy with the service we received from Jim. My family and I went in to look at a vehicle we found online and he was happy to help. Being we had our 3 small children with us, this was a brave move on his part! Account Executive Jim Kubicza was very patient throughout the entire process regarding my purchase of a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu LT. I needed to upgrade my previous vehicle (for which I also worked with Jim, and Stan, upon my purchase of a used 2007 Chevy Malibu (purchased in 2008) Jim took the time to answer all of my questions about the automobiles that I first looked at and took for a test drive. He also showed me potential vehicles for purchase that were in my specified price range. Both Jim and Stan worked with me regarding purchase price, and subsequent increase in the trade-in value of my, then, 2007 Malibu. We decided to purchase a new car to help transport our kids. A Friend mentioned Richard Chevrolet and a salesperson Roger Hill. My wife and I stopped by. We went in and found Roger who is a extremely friendly and knowledgeable salesman. After some discussing our wants and a few test rides we settled on a SUV wanting four wheel drive in this climate. Roger was and is still an asset to us by demonstrating all the options and answering all of our questions. My wife has called a couple of times since our purchase and Roger has taken the time to walk her threw all of her issues ensuring she new the answer to her questions.

I was on the search for a new vehicle I had test drove 10 different cars and was trying to narrow down my search and find that perfect fit. I decided to give your dealership a call to set up an appointment. Jim was very knowledgable and friendly. I called and requested to test drive a specific car at a specific time and he had that car ready and waiting for me. He went above and beyond to build me the car that I wanted and followed up with me a few days later to see if there was any more information that he could give me or if I had any more questions. Unfortunately, I was not able to purchase that vehicle. It didn't fit into my garage. I have since purchased a different vehicle and would not settle for anything less than the superior service that I received from Jim. When I was in the market for a new Chevy, I new the only dealer in CT worth going to was Richard Chevrolet. I worked with Jim Kubicza and at first I wanted to trade my car in for cash for clunkers when that wasn't a posibility he was still able give me a great deal on a new car. He was knowledgeable, friendly and never pushy. He explained everything throughly and honestly. I've had the car for a year and a half now and he even called me a year later to see if I was still happy!
