Saw a suburban on Cars.com that was something we were very interested in. Love using cars.com to see whats out there. Drove to Shottenkirk in Waukee just to look and ended up purchasing the Suburban. Sales staff was very courtesy and accommodating. Will definitely use cars.com for next vehicle purchase and even though Shottenkirk was 2hrs away, will definitely check their inventory.

My wife brought in our vehicle for a problem for the second time and it was still not fixed.. I am very unsatisfied with the service department. I hear the knock in the front end every time I drive it. Also said they rotated the tires with the oil change which they did not...I would rate it wIth zero stars if I could!!!

There are several large GMC/Chevrolet dealers in Des Moines. I have friends at many of them that sell vehicles. I return to Shottenkirk because it has a small town feel and big city options, and because of Jason Waite. He gives red carpet service at a bargain price, and makes you feel valued. After having my car for 12 years, it was time for a new one. I found the one I wanted online at Shottenkirk. The next day I went to them & decided to purchase it. The salesman was great. However, my overall experience has not been great. The salesman was not there the day I picked up the car. They put me in touch with another salesman to finalize the process. Just as I was getting ready to leave, I noticed the key fob did not work. I went back in & they put me in touch with the salesman to help me. He came out & couldn't get the key fob to work either. He then manually unlocked the car & walk off on me. I asked if I did something wrong & he just said it doesn't work. Right then, I should've done something about it but I was thinking I could live with it & anything was better than my current vehicle. 3 hours after I get home I tried to start the car. It did not start. The original salesman was nice enough to come out & help with the situation. My husband did some research & found out there was a problem with the lights. He got the vehicle to start. For approximately the next couple of months, the vehicle ran great & gave me no troubles. Then the light problem started happening again. The problem is a sensor in the vehicle that will not shut off causing the emergency lights to flash every few minutes even when the car is not running thus draining the battery. Shottenkirk said that they would have to replace the body control module & that may fix the problem. It would cost $600 just to purchase that not including labor & with no guarantee that it will work. After reading & researching, we've discovered that the BCM is not the problem. We just want the sensors removed. This is a problem that happened hours after I purchased the vehicle & they should've fixed the problem then. We do not trust that there mechanics know what they are talking about, especially since acted so unsure about the light problem. We feel like we've been looked at like we are "problem customers." We are not confrontational people. We really had high hopes of purchasing a good vehicle through them with exceptional service. Had that been the case, they would've received repeat business from us not to mention friends and family also. I chose to write this review in the hope to inform potential customers of their business practices. ...And one last thing. You have to be firm with the sales manager if you are not interested in purchasing an extended warranty. He tried to sell us the extended warrant at almost half of what we paid for the car. When I said no, he then remarked & asked me if it was a money issue for me. He was paid in full with a cashiers check from our credit union. While that may have been said with good intentions, that remark was unprofessional.

I purchased a 2011, GM certified chevy 2500hd. The truck came fitted with oversized tires and drove great during test drive and for a short period of time afterwards. I started to experience rough interstate driving and brought this issue to the service departments attention. After performing a full inspection they determined that the aggressive tires were the culprit to the rough handling and were no longer good and even though this was not covered under warranty, they offered to replace my wheels and tires with new factory ones. My vehicle drives perfect now and I am thankful for their willingness to assist me and furthermore, compensate me with a new set.

Recently looking for a used car, knew what I want, knew more about it than the salesman as a matter of fact. That's OK, not the primary brand they sell so that's OK. He should have recognized I had researched, so trying to explain the features "look alloy wheels" was really embarrassing. I would suggest a little more tailored approach to a customer. I told him I knew what I wanted, and yet he treated me like I was 18 and buying my first car - when he was the young one. Lots of wasted time, i don't care about your service awards, every dealership I've been in has them. Didn't need to be shown vending machines, or the closed parts counter. In short, gauge your customers needs and tailor your approach, not everyone knows exactly what they are looking at, and not everyone needs their hand held, especially by someone just starting out and not quite sure of themselves. This is for all dealers/salesman, it's time to drop the cliches like "What will it take to get you in this car today" and if we reach an acceptable deal will you drive it home today" Tired sayings that just make me mad anymore. Not a great experience, might go back but most likely not. I realize they may not agree to my terms, they need to accept i may not agree to theirs. sometimes things don't work out, move on.

This is really in two parts. The first part is for the salesman and his manager that I worked with. They were great to work with, and I promised them 5 stars, so they get five stars. The second part is when I went from the sales team to the finance team. They don't deserve any stars, which is why my overall is only 1 star. I have bought cars before, and I understand that every dealership has an extended warranty that they try to sell because they make a lot off it. I listened to his pitch, and then politely told him not interested. But they didn't let it go. It went from being a sales pitch, to an all out badgering for over an hour trying to get me to take their extended warranty. And the entire time, they will say it only costs this much per month, never giving you the full sticker price of their plans. They don't want you to know that the least expensive option is over $4500. I was about two seconds from walking out, which in hind sight I should've. I told the guy I wanted no part of their extended warranty, but the next day when I looked closer at the papers, he had still put on $1000 portion of the extended warranty. Well, I looked at the fine print right away, and what the dealer doesn't want you to know, is that you can cancel it at anytime and be refunded the amount minus the prorated days used. I have already sent in my cancellation notice. The worst car buying experience I've ever had. I will never be buying another car from them again, and don't recommend them to anyone. I just hope the service department is better to deal with.

I called another Chevy dealership to schedule some recall work. They said the work would take a couple hours and I would have to take their shuttle to/from work. The timing of it all did not work well for me. I called Shottenkirk and was told the recall work would only take 20-30 minutes. They were also able to get me in on Saturday at a time that worked for me. When I took it in I actually got there late, but they were still able to get right on it and completed the work, including a car wash, while I waited and browsed around. I was very happy with the experience.

I received a number of e-mails reminding me that there was a RECALL out for my 2013 Malibu, the roof window needed adjusted so last thing on 7th May I rushed out to Shottenkirk's to make a booking for next week. When I drove in I met Jim Millar who took complete charge I said my right front wheel was soft and the wheels needed rotated.He took care of the Recall as well and the whole thing was completed in less than I anticipated and there was NO CHARGE!!! Bought my Jeep here in August and after 2 weeks on the road the check engine light comes on. Had to take it to the Jeep dealer to "fix" it. The same week I find out I bought the car with a broken antenna and the service department couldn't get the old antenna screw out of the base so they tell me i must purchase everything to fix it. Therefore the only radio I can use is my satellite radio. Now 7 weeks into having the vehicle the check engine light is back on throwing the same code and all they tell me is "sorry, hopefully it's covered under warranty." I have had this vehicle exactly 2 months today and in that 2 months it has been in the shop more than any other vehicle I have owned. I will not be going back to this place for future purchases.

Dealerships tend to get a bad reputation on over-charging for labor. But I have had work done at other smaller shops and the work is just not the same. I end up coming back to the dealer because they do the work correctly and thoroughly, and I trust that workmanship. I do feel like the labor is priced more than other places but it's worth it to me. I mean I'd like to pay less but it's a business and I don't think they are trying to rip me off.I like Shottenkirk because they are fair and the people are nice, attentive and answer my million questions. I bought my car there and at the time they had a free oil change for three years if you buy a used car deal. The deal had expired a week prior to me buying my car. I had no idea about the deal but they decided to tell me about it and let me have it anyway. Saved me a lot of $. I've had them do a lot of my service work and they've just done great work.

The only thing I didn't like was the service department couldn't tell me the brand of oil that they were using. All they could tell me was that GM makes it and it's Dexos. From now on I will probably buy my own oil so I know what's going into my vehicle.

When I purchased the car from your dealership I simply left with a poor taste in my mouth. It felt disingenuous when dealing with the sales representative. Had a great experience with Jason Nesbit. He was a great no pressure salesman and I would do business with him again. The only problem that I had during the purchasing process was the two men who kept insisting that I purchase the extended warranty. I heard a "clunking" noise coming from the right front tire well and was concerned; Mike made arrangements for me to bring it right in and had the mechanic go over it with a fine tooth comb. He wasn't able to find anything so Mike asked me to drive my Traverse and call immediately if I heard the noise again and bring it in. When we talked, he thought it was possible that a chunk of ice might have been the culprint but wanted to be sure and had the car washed before returning it. He called me in 2 days just to check since I hadn't been. I told him there was no recurrence & I thought he was right about the ice. What absolutely great service!

Always fast but not rushed. I asked for my spare key to be programmed and this was done without question. All quick lube personnel are nice, efficient and listen to me. If I have questions they answer as thoroughly as I need. I also appreciate the car wash and little extras like that. I could go to get an oil change (as that was all this trip was for) somewhere closer or somewhere cheaper like WalMart. But I like coming here in part because the service is good but mostly because the work done is outstanding and done right.

I brought my car in on 12/26/13 for a quick oil change, which I needed, but also because my in-car tire gauge was reading very low tire pressure and I was unsure of whether or not I needed new tires, nitrogen to fill my tires, or whether the gauge was simply reading incorrectly. I got my car back just over an hour later, with the oil changed, the tire gauge reset and the tires filled, and the car washed. I was unbelievably impressed with the quality of service from Shottenkirk--especially since my car is still in the warranty period for oil changes. Even though I had only requested an oil change (because I believed my warranty was expired), they performed an oil change, 27-point-check, and tire rotation for me after learning that my car was still in warranty. While this was my first experience with Shottenkirk, they are now my first choice for car service.

I stopped in for an oil change and tire repair. The oil change was done before I could get off the phone! I got bad news on the tire. It has a nail on the sidewall which is not safe to repair. I spoke to Jim Miller a couple of times on Saturday, Jim;s day off. It turns out 4 tires are about $1,050. I checked on price at Earle's and could save about $200 for the same tires, but I'm confident we'll come together on this. I truly hope so because I have been a customer for years and want Shottenkirk only to work on my vehicles. Once again, the service was prompt and accurate! I am ben and i wrote my last review on the problems i had with my certified car and how the dealership wouldnt repair it. Shortly after i wrote this review i recieved a call from one of the owners of the dealership. Apparently they had no idea of the troubles that i was going through and asked me to return the van back to the dealership so they could go back through it. They went over it with a fine tooth comb and fixed everything that was wrong with it for free. Not only the things that slipped through the cracks but a few other things that had gone wrong that weren't part of there inspection. Total of 1200 in repairs. Doug was very nice and told me he wanted to make it right. I also recieved my van back super clean on the outside. Living in iowa in the middle of winter that was hard to do in itself and probably took 3 trips through the car wash and some hand scrubbing as well. All and all i am pleased. Like i said in my earlier review, this company has always been good to me and i was very surprised when it turned out the way it did. I would recommend this dealership to people again just want them to go through your used cars better :o). Thanks for making it right Shottenkirk. Ben

I have been a customer for a while at shottenkirk and they have always done me right. But the last vehicle i purchased has me shaking my head on there loyalty. I have always recommended shottenkirks sales and service because i was very satisfied. Now there not perfect like most dealerships but they have guaranteed my business for the last 8 years. My latest purchase was a certified used car the cream of the crop on used cars. So when the alignment was off on the 1st test drive i asked them to fix it before i bought it, no problem they said. Well that got pushed to the way side over and over again so finally the vehicle had been bought and a month had passed. It was around that time i started noticing a coolant smell. Apparently the water pump was leaking, which they replaced under the waranty they gave us. Did i also mention the blower motor was squealing really bad also. Again they replaced it for free but why did it not get checked or missed. So then after a few months and only 4kmiles since we bought it i finally get it in to have it aligned. It had chewed up a nice set of tires i switched out from my old van so i was going to get a couple of tires as well. They come back and tell me that the tie rod end is out. Now here is my problem, i know cars and something like that doesnt just fail all of a sudden. My problem is that since i have purchased a CERTIFIED used car those are the cream of the crop of used cars. Those are the most looked after with 1 owner and checked over to make sure they fit that standard. How did these things pass, how could you miss a weeping water pump and a bad tie rod end. How do you miss a blower motor that sounds like a cat dieing. It did that right when we turned it on. And that is my problem, were not talking a year down the road or even a ton of miles down the road. Just in a few months its has had repairs. When asked about this i kinda get a shrugged shoulder look. Im not a rich man and i understand im not buying a new corvette or even an impala but i chose to spend my money there because i trusted them. I do not trust there ability to either fix there used vehciles before putting them on the lot or honor the products they sell. I hear the treat you like family bit on the commercials all the time, well i must be the stepcousin who never gets a phone call. Thank you for what you have done for me in the past but this note has left me sour and i no longer wish to do business with you. Im going to take my heap of a purchase and pray nothing else got (missed) in your certified inspection.

My husband and I stopped by Shottenkirk just to look around and maybe find a good deal on a used car. I hate shopping for a vehicle because I always feel pressured. Shottenkirk was the fourth dealer we had been to on that day. Travis was very helpful, wanted to know exactly what I was looking for so that I didn't waste my time looking at inventory that didn't match my needs/wants. He was not a pushy salesman, was very likeable and friendly. Justin was awesome in the finance department. Everyone made us feel very welcome from the time we stepped foot on the lot. I ended up going home with a new car that day. I will definitely recommend to friends and family to shop at Shottenkirk!!!

My overall experience with Shottenkirk in Waukee was tremendous. I was not pressured to purchase a vehicle the first night I was looking at possible options. The customer service was great. Immeadiately after pulling onto the lot I was greated by a salesman (Jake P. Brown) and began looking at a specific vehicle. They continually mentioned how they wanted to work with me to provide the best price, and thanks to Justin Saiz and Ra Shaan Long they did indeed. After the deal was all said and done my car was already washed, filled with gas, and ready to take home. The overall process was a great experience and I will definately recommend Shottenkirk in Waukee to friends and family.

I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. The experience started off very nicely with Travis the salesman. Very nice and friendly. He was not pushy and let us find the car we felt worked best for us. He went to bat for us to get the very best deal possible. When Travis had completed his steps we were passed off to Justin. And unfortunately this is where the experience went down the drain. Justin was rude and not sensative to our budget restraints. He kept trying to pressure us into a bunch of add-on stuff for the loan that simply made things too expensive for us. Once we finally got a deal negotiated and all the paperwork signed we left feeling like we had a good deal in place. We returned the next day to drop off the car we had traded in. When we did so we were blindsided by Justin who told us we needed to make a larger downpayment. Now all paperwork had been signed at this point already and a deal in place. Justin tried to explain it was an issue with the bank but would not tell us whom the bank was or what the specific issue with the bank was. He was very shady about the whole thing. We agreed to pay the larger downpayment as we love the car. We again left thinking things were ok.Then 3 days later we are called by Colin. He was very nice much like Travis was at the beginning. He explained they were still having issues with the bank but would not clarify. He is doing his best to rectify the situation but we still are strongly considering returning the car and going to a different dealership. Travis and Colin are very nice and friendly. They are true assets to the dealership. Justin is very rude, arrogant and pushy. Overall the experience was horrible as we felt pressured and actually signed 3 sets of papers because they couldnt get something straight with the bank. i feel like we got ripped off. Because off all of that i would not recommend this dealership when there are several other choices very close by.

I went in to Shottenkirk after my college graduation to buy a new car. I left with a 2012 Malibu at drastically low clearance prices. My dealer, Scott, was very knowledgable and friendly to work with and he was a straight shooter when it came to pricing/negotiating. I found Shottenkirk on an internet search because I was interested in test driving a Chevy Volt. I was contacted the same day by Dave in internet sales. Dave was friendly and fun to work with. I knew as soon as got behind the wheel of the Volt that it would be my next car. The Prius and Leaf were the other cars I was interested in, but the volt was much more entertaining! I had given her the information of what we were looking for and she had everything ready. We were test driving the vehicle in less than 5 minutes. She knew all of the details about the vehicle and how everything works. Made us feel right at ease immediately. I had been dreading the negotiation part of the deal and it was painless. She presented me the numbers, I countered with what I could work with and they came back with a deal I could live with. While I was meeting with the financial gentleman, the other associates entertained my children. We drove away with a new vehicle. After trying other dealerships we took the trek out to Waukee. My Step father had bought a vehicle there and had been very happy. It was late on a Thursday night. Ed met us out front. Did an amazing job of listening to what I was looking for and finding something that would work. He never seemed to be "ready to leave" or pushy to make the sale. Actually at one point he said, "The car will still be here tomorrow if you need to think about it." That told me a lot. Ed was great! I went into the finance office and I was told that they were able to keep me to the payment that I was looking for with the rate that they got. My big issue with this part was that they never told me that there was a possibility that the bank would not be able to get me the rate that they quoted me. There was no option to void the contract if the bank came back with a higher rate (which is what another family member, that I recommended to them, got when he went in late one evening). I signed all of the paperwork and drove off the lot. The following Monday I got a call from the finance department saying that they were not able to get the rate that they quoted, they switched banks and got me another rate that was not as good as they quoted but better than what the original bank came back at. It was not a huge difference in my payment, but to me it was the principle. I was asked to come back out to sign a whole new set of papers. I took the 30 minute drive out and re-signed the papers only to get a call a couple days later to say that there was one form that they forgot to have me sign. So I drove out again. During my first trip back I had told them that the stereo had a short in it and it sounded like one of the speakers was blown. They told me to bring it back out. They told me they would find another stereo and replace it. After telling me that, the stereo worked just fine, but the speaker still didn't work. I told them this and they decided to replace the stereo anyway. Mike told me that he would have to check if the speaker would be covered under my extended warrenty and "the guy" that he needed to talk to was gone for the day. He originally was going to give me the paperwork for the stereo when he found out about the speaker the next day, but before I left he said "why don't we just close this out now" as if he had already decided that they weren't going to replace the speaker. He called me the next day and told me that they weren't going to change it under the warrenty and it would be $150. I told him that I wasn't going to have it changed. Then I find out about a week later that the CD player on the newly installed stereo doesn't work.In summery: overall good experience. Ed is awesome, ask for him. But be careful with the finance and service departments.

I went in to purchase a new 2012 blue topaz Chevy Volt. I put down $500 to hold the vehicle so that I could make sure my job was secure because I had just started a new job. My job worked out but during that time of 3 weeks my parents told me not to trade in my current vehicle and they would pay me for it so that they could get it back. I told Shottenkirk this and the response I got was can you still do the deal I said I would try and I pressured my parents to give me the money for the vehicle but they would not so in the end I wasn't able to purchase the Volt and Ra Shaan Long told me that it was company policy to keep my deposit of $500 because they held the vehicle for 3 weeks. I was never told this in the beginning. As time went on they got very pushy and even tried to get me to buy the Volt without my full down payment which I was not comfortable with. So all in all they still have my $500 and have sold the Volt that I was originally interested in.

Worst service we have ever received. We have had our used car in 9 times in the first year. We have had to have the same rattle fixed 4 times and it is worse than ever. Post service, our vehice was never test driven and we had to take the car right back. Eventually, they acted like we were a burden and we just wanted to get our car fixed. Jim wont return calls and we usually get sent to voicemail. DO NOT take your vehicle here for service. We ended up taking our vehicle to someone else and most of the items that were supposed to be repaired were actually never touched. Very dissappointed. Be warned

Absolute fiasco...bought a "certified" used GMC Yukon Shottenkirk. Had all sorts of issues, returned the vehicle to the dealership 9 times in the first three months to have all sorts of nuisance repairs done; dash gauge cluster had to be replaced, door handles that fell off, many of which should have been caught by the "certified" check that apparently probably never occurred. To top it all off I went to trade the truck in 10 months later for a Denali XL and realized the truck didn't even have a spare tire on it. Please tell me how a $40k truck passes a "GM" certified inspection with NO spare tire!!! it also took them 6 weeks to get me the right manual, they originally gave me a manual that was two years older than my truck! Way better options for ethical car dealerships in the Des Moines metro area I suggest avoiding these guys!!

I purchased a "certified" used Yukon from Shottenkirk and had nothing but issues. The car was back to the dealership 9 times in the first three months. It had broken door handles, dash gauges didn't work and had to be replaced, side view mirrors needed to be replaced, electrical issues and it took them two months to get me an owners manual. On top of all this they removed the spare tire from the car, which I didn't realize until I traded it 10 months later for a Yukon XL. Stay away from this place!

One of the cars was a total loss but still got great money for it and the other one was a caddilac that was a part of my grandfather's estate and still had money owed. Justin took the time to listen and found me a car that I absolutely love and new from the start. He was easy to get along with and wasn't pushy at all. I also have to say that Scott Brown is very easy going as well and when he gave me the price out the door with trades he honored it even after the computer forgot something. Highly recommend that you go there.

Love this dealership!! I am a women going into a car dealership and wasn't feeling real good about going in without my husband. My experience here was so enjoyable I will never go anywhere else!! I will tell all my friends and family that this is the place to go!! I did comparison shopping on the internet before I headed out. When I went to these guys I realized real quick that they had better prices than any of the other dealers I was looking at, plus the condition of their cars was so much better. Walked inside the door and immediately could tell what a friendly atmosphere it was. No pressure sales here.. which I had been dreading. My salesman was very knowledgable.. could answer all my questions for me, plus told me everything I needed to know.. things I had forgotten to ask. I am so excited that I have found a dealership that I can enjoy going to for all my car needs!!

STAY AWAY FROM JASON, THE FINANCE MANAGER!We caught Jason being intentionally deceitful. Near 8pm, family was exhausted but we politely sat as he attempted to set up the sell of some warranty. I anticipated the close, but it never happened. There was no "This is the product. Would you like it?" He simply presented us a stack of papers and proceeded to tell us where to sign.Three documents in, was the warranty. He says something like "this is the power-train warranty." I skim the document and sign. He gives us cards for a towing service that came with the warranty. Then it clicks. I don't remember being told the vehicle came with a warranty?! He is about to slide me the contract for the Disability Insurance he mentioned earlier and I say "Wait.""Does the vehicle COME with this warranty or is it extra?" I ask. He says it's included with the price. I attempt to clarify, "does this come with the van, or is it extra?" He says "It's included with the $363 payment." He PURPOSEFULLY avoids answering the question! A WILLFUL ATTEMPT AT DECEIT! I am incredulous, my wife is looking at me as if we should leave, and my kids are really ready to leave. But I give the purchase another shot. I told him I want the vehicle and nothing else. He tries to sell me on the services again. I am put my hands on the desk and tell him I don't care about how the services lessen the impact of unforeseen events, I just want the car.Watch out for this guy or maybe all the Finance Managers there. I hate to think of how many people he suckered before me. The cost of the package he was pushing was more than additional $1,000 over the vehicle price. Their website espouses values like honesty and integrity. I experience something very different.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Update:Turns out that JASON, the Finance Manager was just a bad apple. Doug, co-owner apologized and gave me a discount on the previously agreed to price. Ra Shaan was my Finance Manager today and his performance was ideal.

I scored the staff at Shottenkirk Chevy all 5s because they made my car-buying experience as stress free as possible. The car was bought as a gift for my husband so I was quite nervous. Everyone was incredibly friendly and worked to make me feel comfortable. The facility was clean and bright. We had a wonderful experience and I would buy another car from them. Shottenkirk has earned my loyalty by exceeding my expectations not only in the new vehicle purchase, but also in follow up and their service Dept. AAA rating in my book.. My most recent dealings with their service department is where they went above and beyond, and honored warranty work on non original factory equipment. My experience in the past with other dealerships would have been "tough luck buddy".The true difference is Shottenkirk does not view me as a Customer of GM, but as their customer and it shows in every dealing I have with them.

Stopped at the dealership looking for a new car for my wife. Salesmen Dave Balke greated my wife and I and asked what we were interested in.He gave us a wide range of vary nice vechiles to choose from.He never made use feel pressured and was vary patient with use thru the buying process.Before we were done we ended up buying two cars from him that day.Even after the sale he was as helpful as before we even looked at anything. We purchased a new Equinox from Schottenkirk -our first time at the dealership. We didn't realize we would leave that day WITH the car! We had a unique situation in that we were trading in a vehicle that we just purchased two months prior and realized with regret did so with severe buyer's remorse! So we had no equity and other dealers told us they could not do anything for us. But Josh and Justin got it done! We love our new vehicle and had a great experience with Schottenkirk. They didn't focus on our negative situation but rather on what they COULD do. We have already referred friends there. I hope all follow ups with this dealership are as positive as our initial visit. We look forward to purchasing our next vehicle with them!

The overall experience was very good. Justin was very helpful and knowledgable on the vehicle I was looking at. He went the extra mile to send me additional photos of the vehicle so I could show my wife and followed up to make sure I did not need additional information.When I came back to purchase the vehicle he was there throughout the entire process. He did not just close the deal and pass me off to someone else. He followed it thru to the end and beyond.The follow up a few days later was nice to know that I was not just another sale, but a real customer.

We had a great experience in our purchase of our certified used car. The only issue we ran into was the technitions that certified the car should be a bit more careful. We were missing the antenna and the rear washer fluid hose was pinched in the air cleaner box lid. Everything was taken care of and we are very happy with the car.

This was definitely the best experience we have ever had buying a car. Our salesman, Art, was great! He was friendly and courteous, not at all pushy, and answered every question we had. We really didn't know exactly what kind of car we were looking for, and he helped us narrow down our choices. He took us for test drives on the two vehicles we were interested in and even took us on a tour of the whole dealership. Before we left he gave us a free oil change coupon, put some gas in the tank, and most importantly took the time to show us all the features on the car and set up our OnStar. Jason in finance was great too, very friendly and knowledgable, and he took the time to explain the finance process in detail. Overall, a fantastic experience! We never thought the car buying proesss could be fun, but it actually was! We highly recommend Shottenkirk!

Our family has purchased 2 vehicles from Schottenkirk, and has continued to use their service dept for routine oil changes, etc for the past few years. We have been customers with them as it has grown from a small dealership into a large one; however, the people who work at Schottenkirk have kept that small dealership feel. I know that Jim & Scott will help me in the service department, and that Dave & Yodi will work with me to find the car that I want, at a price I can afford. (Our last vehicle from Schottenkirk was well within my budget, and exceeded my "wish list" of features.) I also appreciate that although I am at the dealership every few months for an oil change/tire rotation, the sales staff will wave and say hello, but are never pushy about showing me what's new- happy to answer questions if I have them!, but never pushy. The service waiting area is also very comfortable with Internet access & a separate children's play room.

Purchased a 2011 equinox and they took their time to explain all the features the vehicle comes with. The salesman was polite and repectful to me, being that I'm a women. He didn't talk down or over my head in anyway. The new building is really nice too. Absolutely one of the best experiences buying a new vehicle we've had, and it wasn't an easy one because it was an out-of-state purchase. Staff went above and beyond to make it happen. Vehicle was better than advertised. Drive to the dealership from out of state was well worth it for the customer service and selection. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. My experience was excellent. When i first entered the lot someone came to me within 5 minutes and was very friendly. They weren't too pushy like most the dealers and salespersons i've experienced in the past. When i selected the car that i wanted they did everything to help me try to finance it and got me the lowest rate possible. When i have needed to have work done they are quick and the work is always excellent quality. I plan on buying my next car with this dealership.

Goes the extra mile and makes the customer feel that they are Number 1. I have used other Chevolet, Ford and Lincoln Dealers, and this group exeeds them by a mile. SUPER PUSHY AND HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS. THEY WILL GANG UP ON YOU IF YOU SAY NO! I went to Shottenkirk to look at an SUV they had listed on their website and trade my truck in. After waiting 3 days for one of the employees to bring it back in from their house, I was able to test drive the vehicle. The price was $500 over the book value, (KBB and NADA). The check engine light was on, the ABS light was on, 2 of the windows didn't work, the seat heater didn't work, the sunroof didn't slide, one of the speakers was blown, the rear main seal and rear end gasket were both leaking, when it shifted it shimmied and shook the whole truck and it ran horribly. Suffice to say, it was in poor shape. They appraised my truck while we drove around. The salesman assured me that they would fix all of the problems to earn my business. They appraised my truck at half of the blue book value for trade-in ($6000 when trade in was $12,500). My truck is super clean, low miles and runs better than brand new. My truck was worth more and they wouldn't even trade straight accross unless I agreed to fix all the issues myself. When I spoke to the "sales manager" he stated he would work on the numbers, but it was really close to where it needed to be. He stated "we gave too much money on trade for the SUV and have to recooperate the original costs". They said they would call me the next day. I did receive a call a week later from the salesman asking me if I was willing to trade straight and give them $1,000 cash too. I asked if they were going to fix the SUV problems, he stated he would have to call me back. Its been 6 weeks and no return call.
