We travelled to Highland, to check out a car for our daughter that was on the Steve Schmitt website. BJ was our salesperson and he made it the best car buying experience we had ever had. He was very knowledgable about the Chevy Cruze that we were Interested in. He answered all of our questions and explained all of the features before allowing us to test drive it. The car impressed us and so did BJ. There was no pressure to buy and we had all the time and information we needed. We decided to buy the car and have been very satisfied with it. I found it online at this dealership. I sent an email to see if the car was still available. After 10 years of owning a Toyota decided to try something new. My husband and I researched several new cars and decided to spend an evening looking at cars and sitting in a few of them. Steve Schmitt Chevrolet, and especially BJ Shelton catered to our unique process of sitting in cars and then two days later actually taking them for a test drive. We had planned on starting at Steve Scmitt and then we were going to go to the Ford and eventually the Chrysler dealer to test drive some of their vehicles, but as it turned out I fell in love with the Malibu and never made it to the other two dealers. For the past 13 years I have driven 62 miles a day to and from work and I have found that since purchasing the Malibu my daily journey has become more enjoyable than ever. The smooth ride, roomy seating, and convenient access to the hands free phone controls continues to impress. I have had several friends and even strangers stop and ask me about my new car, it must be the big smile on my face that they notice as I exit the Malibu.

i have been doing business with steve schmitt for over 20 years. i have never had any problems.everyone is very pleasant . my favorite sales person is jeff croak, i like him very much. he is always the person i see when buying a car. six years ago he sold me a gmc terrain, i love it. i called jeff regarding tires for my car and he checked out what was best for me and when i came into have my car winterized the tires that jeff recommend were there to be put on. jeff is a people. he treats customers the way he himself likes to be treated. ashley barnett way very nice when i paid for the work done on my car. she went over the entire bill to make sure i understood everything. my grade on all my visits to steve schmitt would be A+

Ashley Barnett and Gary Heim helped me choose the right car for me. It was a scary and new process since this was my first car. They were very helpful and even let me know when someone else had looked at the car. When I went it for my first oil change I had told them I needed it back by a certain time the next day for work. I never received a call and so I called them back 2 hours before I had to be at work. They still hadn't gotten it done or even looked at it. Apparently they didn't write down that it needed to be done. This is the only complaint I've had so far. Hopefully the next oil change goes smoother.

Buying a car is never been a pleasant experience for me until a few years ago when I first bought a car from Steve Schmitt Chev., Highland, IL. I had always disliked going to a car lot and being hounded by a sales person but here they were totally different. My first purchase was my company car and I talked with Chris Martz and John Touchette. I told them what I wanted to try and they would bring each vehicle to me until I ended up with a beautiful 2014 Impala, then they would come get the car for servicing............I was majorly impressed!!!!!!! I now needed a car that was good looking, reliable and great gas mileage because I was going to be driving about 100 miles a day. My first contact was to Chris and John, I told them what I wanted and they sent me a list, with photos and stat's for each car. I really liked everything about the Chev. Curze and John brought me one to try, which I fell in love with. John sent me another list and I found my Red, 2014 with very low mileage......again perfect. All this happened within a couple of weeks, I did not have to go to the dealership until the end and that is when I met Ashley Barnett, business development center specialist, another extremely professional person on the Steve Schmitt Team. I cannot tell you how happy I am with these folks and the hole team of professionals, I would and will recommend them to everyone because they give you the felling of a small, family owned business that wants to cater to you, not the bottom line. In fact I will be contacting John soon to start looking for a chev pick up truck to replace mine. Thank you all!!!!!

I went to the dealership to buy a new car. BJ Shelton was the salesman. Once we made a deal to buy the car things went downhill. Even when we went to pick up the car all we heard was how "busy" he was and we waited about 45 min. Never got a full rundown of features of the car or how to use them. Looked most of it up online. Later when I called back he recommended YouTube videos. Very disappointed with the whole process.

I walked in to Steve Schmitt on July 3rd around lunch time knowing it was the day before a holiday. Everyone was extremely busy, but Todd Cange saw my wife and I and said he could help us. He made time for us and did not rush us at all. I know how busy he was, but he took the time to walk us through the process, took us on test drive and then explained the features of the car. He made sure that we had everything worked out that day and we were able to walk out the same day with a great 2015 Malibu. Steve Schmitt is a class act all the way from the beginning of the process where we worked with Ashley Barnett online to Todd to Vince in financing. I have lived in Highland, Illinois for almost twenty years. When I first moved here I started to have them do my service to my old Chevy Lumina. When it was time to buy my very first new car, I worked with Gary Heim and he helped me select and buy a brand new silver Pontiac Grand Prix. Gary made it easy--he treated me professionally but also understood how excited I was to buy my first new car. Well, I kept that car for many years and would always get it serviced at the dealership. Gary was never pushy, but kept reminding me in a friendly way, "Hey Tami, that car isn't going to last forever, you are going to have to get a new car someday." In my years with the Grand Prix, it only had one mechanical issue and when I brought it in and told them I really needed the car fixed quickly, they worked with my schedule to get my car fixed quickly. Well, finally after about 130,000 miles I saw the new Chevy Impalas. I went in and Gary helped me again buy my second dream car. Gary is just great to work from selecting a car, to financing, to trying to teach me how to use the radio. :) Ashley Barnett has also been helpful in my dealings as has the outstanding service department. I love my two year old Chevy Impala, but when it is time to buy another dream car I know that Gary will help me again! Thanks!

We went shopping for a used van and found one we liked at Steve Schmitt. BJ was our salesman, he was very friendly and helpful. Some hang ups we had were trade in values.. Originally we discussed one price for our trade in after researching it on a website, then when it came down to sale time, we were offered significantly less on our trade, being told that "That's what we can buy this car at auction for." Our other hang up is that the van we bought has a minor cosmetic damage that we were promised would be fixed (Even had one of those "We Owe" when we set up the sale). I asked BJ when we could expect to get that taken care of and was promised a call back, that was months ago. Partially my fault as well though since we didn't follow through with them either, but you would think a company big on taking care of local customers would remember to take care of small details like that.. Will probably use them again, though just to support local

I was looking to replace my worn old GMC Suburban. I love the suburban's because I need that room to carry my firefighting gear and family. I searched for weeks and found one that had just been traded in at Steve Schmitt's. It had not even been processed or cleaned yet. I worked with John Touchette and we came to terms and I purchased it the same day. Being used it had a couple minor repairs needed and was told that they would take care of them. I needed the truck right then. I latter made arrangements to take it back and worked with Ashley Barnett in service. Everything was fixed as promised and no charge. The person that did the paperwork was not nice at all to me, trying to tell me what I did and did not need to purchase when signing papers. He also over charged me for my license plates but they did finally refund me that back, but it took them a little over 2 months to do it.

We went to Steve Schmitt shopping for a new car for my wife. She opted for the GMC Terrain over similar Ford and Nissan models. A large contributing factor to our decision was the service we received at SS. Our sales rep, Todd Cange, had an excellent knowledge of the product line that made the decision easy. A huge factor that can make or break a deal for me is how the sales person conducts themselves. If I feel pressured or rushed I would just assume walk out than waste more time feeling like I'm being coerced into spending my hard earned dollar. This was not the case at all with Todd. He was very helpful in answering all the questions we had about the vehicle then gave us our space leaving us to make the decision on our own accord. He helped us through the entire purchasing process and continues to provide excellent customer service with any maintenance needs we may have for the vehicle. We have have purchased 3 used vehicles and 2 new vehicles and all have been handled with great service. We have also had multiple services completed there as well as body work. The service and work have been completed in a timely and professional manner. Todd has been the sales professional to assist us for every vehicle and has been very informative and very flexible. Buying a new GMC Sierra from Steve Schmitt was probably one of the easiest and no hassle vehicle purchases I have had. Even after the sale, the sales staff has gone out of their way to make it easy and convenient to have oil changes and tire rotations. I recently needed a tire repair, and could have taken care of that closer to home, but I took it to the Schmitt Service Department because they have been so accommodating.

Great service and happy with vehicle purchased. Able to schedule all of the recalls at one time which was convenient. The replacement car helped due to the long timeframe of recalls needing to be checked since GM is making sure everything is ok.

More than a little disappointed in the condition of my car. I truly did not expect to have to spend almost $2000. in repairs in less than one year ownership. Ether the car was not inspected or it is of poor quality to start with. I fully understand that when you buy a used car there may be some things that are not perfect, but when you spend $10,000 dollars one would hope to be able to drive it for a while without spending a lot of money. Blake Bircher I mentioned to Gary how I felt about the condition of the car and have not heard back from anyone. So I can only assume that you do not care. I will thou let anyone who asked about the car what my experience has been. I know I may be a little naive about cars but I thought by going to a dealer I would be getting a higher quality vehicle than a buy here pay here type of lot.

I had a good experience while working with the sales force at Steve Schmitt Auto Group. Bryan Horner was the salesman I worked with and I found him to be easy to work with and willing to answered all my questions. Blake Bircher in the Business Development Center was also very easy to work with and explain all the paperwork in good detail. I have some issue with the vehicle that I purchased and have already been assured that they will be taken care of with no questions asked. They just told to bring it by and they would be taken care of. That is what every person who buys a car wants to hear.

I bought my GMC Denali through Steve Schmitt the owner (this was my second car bought through him) and he has held up to all deals. Anything I might have had an issue with was handled with good service. I have done a lot of in inquiries with BJ Shelton and he has always been very helpful. I would highly recommend him to buy a car from. And if I buy another GMC, it will be through BJ Shelton. I have had very good service with my car. I have taken it to be serviced here since I bought it new and it is a 2008, still running great. I would recommend this dealership.

They do the service requested and check out anything I tell them about. If I need additional work done they always explain it all to me and give me a cost before they start any work. I talk to Bryan Horner about the kind of car I was looking for, one that got good gas mileage and was fun to drive. He talked to me about the Chevy Cruze and took me for a test drive in one. I bought a truck in November. GM sent me a rebate that I had to use before the end of November. They didn't have the truck that I wanted - I wanted a big bed, but they found one for me in time so that I could use the rebate. I also bring it for all my service. They gave me some free oil changes after I brought it in for an oil change and they found fixes that needed to be done for the recalls.

After communicating with dealership for several days, I drove out on Saturday and the vehicle had been moved to a different dealership. Try to say it was my fault because I wouldn't give out my home phone. If they knew I was coming out and had a set appointment...why would they move it. I had to drive almost an hour just to find out it had been moved.

Service department is superb. I've had a nagging issue with my remote key FOBs and they've been diligent in resolving the issue. Unfortunately they had little beneficial help from GM to diagnose the problem and we've had to utilize resources outside of GM to finally fix the issue. I'll buy my next vehicle from Schmidt as long as I am still in the area. Great folks in sales and service both.
