I bought a Volkswagen Jetta sport TSI. I was upside down on my Mini Cooper. Suncoast took the time to find the best option to meet my needs without putting me in a payment that I couldn't afford. Sales people were extremely friendly,and easy to speak to. Look forward to a long relationship with this dealership.

Just bought a new 2016 Golf Sportwagen. Mark Perfetto, our salesperson, was terrific. Took a lot of time with my wife and I including an extensive test drive. Initially, we couldn't quite come to terms on a deal. So we thanked him and left disappointed. Shortly thereafter Mark contacted us at home and offered us a better deal. We were still a little bit apart. Next thing I know the new sales manager, Chuck, calls us and offers us a fabulous deal. Couldn't refuse this one. All in all, a great experience thanks to professional, courteous and more than fair people. I will definitely recommend Sunset VW, especially our salesperson Mark, to friends.

I had done some research on Jeeps, but my husband encouraged me to test drive the VW Tiguan. Driving along Tamiami I saw Sunset VW and I pulled in with my 12 year old BMW X3. The Beamer had served me valiantly but strange things were starting to happen. I met with Dario Taranto who was very nice and very friendly. We talked for a bit about 'stuff' and after a thorough description of the car, a test drive, 5 bottles of water and what I believed to be a good offer for my BMW, I owned a new Tiguan...It was that easy.This was night and day different than my husband's purchase experience of a Rogue that he uses for business. Everyone that I encountered was smiling and friendly. Not once did a Sales Manager strong arm me into making a decision. There was little of the typical back and forth price negotiating. We had a number and simply massaged it into something that I would deal with. I have driven German cars for 30 years and was afraid I would be disappointed in these 'new' cars. Needless to say I was not. The VW held the road and the steering was tight. I was very impressed with how solid the car felt and all the standard features. I was looking for a fun car to drive and the Tiguan is that car. Once again my husband was right.I never went to the Jeep Dealer. I still cannot believe what a wonderful experience I had at Sunset Volkswagen.

I recently purchased a pre-owned Jeep Wrangler from Suncoast Motorsports. Granted, they sell Porsche & VW, but I searched the entire Southeast US for this car and was lucky to find this pre-owned vehicle at Suncoast. My salesman, Chuck Kennedy was personable, honest, professional and courteous. He quickly responded to my initial email and sent me additional photographs upon my request. He even sent me a video walk-around. The vehicle was accurately listed on the internet and the pictures were detailed and honest. My experience with Chuck was awesome. Chuck Kennedy and the folks at Suncoast Motorsports, Sarasota, FL has rejuvenated the "dealership" experience for me...... or they have set the bar so high that all other dealerships will fail miserably! Two Bad Experiences... First one, we brought car in for noisy brakes (new VW-bug) under warranty; car makes the noise 24/7. Brought it in for service to check this out and they said they could not duplicate it. Picked car up, and found a manager before we left parking lot to tell him the problem and LISTEN to the problem...which of course, the brakes were still squeaking and he acknowledge but told us there is nothing they can do, because they all do it!!! ALL!! But he would check with Volkswagen to see if they would install new brakes. Never happen....At the Second visit, was to install the door handle that was peeling. We brought car in; they told us it would be at an hour, waited 3 hrs, car sat outside/never serviced it. Finally brought car into service area 15 minutes before closing. They took door handle off, and shorted out passenger window switch in the process, then lied to us about why the car wasn't ready...Long story short 5 days later, we get our car back after several calls to service director with NOT one return call from management. However, the service advisor, Joe was really stuck in the middle and should be commented.

Purchasing my Audi from Suncoast was a pleasure. Chuck Kennedy facilitated the process in a non-pushy, informative, and thoughtful way. Both him and the sales manager were transparent in their pricing for the new vehicle, and after some negotiation we arrived at a trade-in value that I could be happy with for my old Mazda. Chuck followed up after the purchase in a timely manner to check how everything was going, and even remembered to send a missing driver manual. Will definitely be back in the future!

Furthermore, when I forgot some CDs in the Jetta I had traded in, Ro took them out and held them for me until I could return to pick them up - thereby saving me an extra trip.

My Toyota Camry was totaled in a car accident. Although, I liked my Camry I did not want to buy another Toyota. There was no particular car that I wanted more than others. So, I set my requirements including price. While looking for the cars on my list I was driving a rented Passat. Passat was out of my price range and not on my list of possible cars. I stopped in this dealership as I was curious to find out whether a brand new Passat was equally loud as the one I drove.When Marcus Kohout approached me, I was truthful about the purpose of my visit and was adamant that Im not a buyer. I spend much time driving so comfort and features I needed in Passat came with too high price. Marcus was knowledgeable and pleasant not only about VW, but also about other cars that I was looking into. But, most importantly he was kind and treated me with respect as if I were the most valuable buyer. So, I decided if I was ever to buy VW, Ill buy in Suncoast Motorsports and work with Marcus.Several days later, I drove all the cars from my list and neither matched my requirements completely. Running out of options and wanting to get out of a rental car, I stopped at Suncoast Motorsports again looking for Marcus. I knew that his goal was to sell me the car. But, I also trusted that it was not his only goal. Marcus is not a car salesperson. He is a customer relationship representative. He didnt want to make one sale; he wanted to earn my business. So, I felt good about discussing temporary solution with him. Once again, we both knew Im not a buyer. Im just a window shopper. Once again, Marcus treated me with respect as if I were his most valuable customer.So, when following day advertisement for the right priced Passat popped up on my computer screen at another dealership, I sent information to Marcus. He matched the price and I drove the car that evening.In all my previous purchases Ive spent over 4 hours in dealership. In Suncoast Motorsports, I spent just over an hour. I spent 10 minutes with Erik Francey, Finance & Insurance Manager, signing all the papers and receiving my new registration card. (The matching license plate magically appeared on the car.) The rest of the time I spent with Marcus in my new car. He introduced me to all of my new car feature, helped me set default value to my car computer and register with car-connect. Wow! That was an unmatched experience and true customer service. They didnt just take my money and run. They gave me a car and kept me there until I learned how to enjoy its many top notch features while driving in safely.Needless to say, I would recommend this dealership to everybody. Thank you Marcus, Erik, and especially VW Brand manager Cranston Scott for running Suncoast Motorsports in such a customer focused manner.

The product knowledge of the sales representative was impressive. I had been defending the dealership after several people I referred complained to me. O.K. now I will stop doing that and take my car to another dealership for service. Every time I bring it there it is a new disappointment. The first service after purchasing the car should have told me what I would be in for, left the cap off my radiator oops and left the CD in my car from a navigational upgrade. Each time I brought it there, 3 in all, there was a disappointment attached. We truly enjoyed the buying experience there but the service was less than stellar to be kind. Husband called to see about some lingering issues that the rep told me they did not have time to do on a Saturday at my last service appointment and that I had to bring it back another time but told my husband that I never mentioned anything about the leaking sunroof or the fact that my car would sometimes tell me the key was not in range when I would be sitting in the car with it in my hand. Seriously? Do not like being lied to or about. Won't be going there again so when we trade the VWJettasportwagon in this year we won't be buying that Audi from Suncoast. Sorry guys, your service department blew it!

The numbers were sent to me prior to me picking up the car, which gave me plenty of time to review them. No game, no misrepresentations like so many dealers do. When I picked up the car everything was ready and all was in order as promised to. The car was immaculate, paper work ready to sign. A very nice young man spent as much time as was needed to train me to use all many many features. I will come from Fort Lauderdale without hesitation to buy my next car.

I just wanted to take a moment to bring to your attention an uncharacteristic experience my mother (and myself) recently had at one of your dealerships, during a simple service call.My name is John Rutherford and I live in St. Helena, California. My 72-year old mother recently moved to Venice, Florida from California. During the move of her 2009 VW Beetle Convertible, the rear tail light lens was damaged.Upon arrival in Florida, she located the closest authorized service center/dealership, which turned out to be Suncoast Motorsports - Volkswagen. We made an appointment, and took the car to them on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. We were greeted in the service bay by Ken Levine and informed him of the damage. Mr. Levine advised us that it would be a short repair, so we went to wait in the waiting room. After about an hour, Mr. Levine came to the waiting room and informed us that the turn signals were not working, and the satellite radio was inoperable as well. We did not realize, nor believe this at first as both the turn signals and the satellite radio were operable on the way to the dealership, but taking his advice, agreed to the now over $600.00 in repairs. Mr. Levine seemed to get agitated when we questioned him about the sudden repair.After the repair was completed, Mr. Levine returned. He had a very dismissive tone, and was downright rude to my mother. It was very uncomfortable, and uncharacteristic of experiences my mother has had in California at her previous dealership (experiences that have made her a longtime loyal Volkswagen customer). In fact, we were walking around the dealership with the thought of purchasing her a new car there that day, but are now very doubtful this will be happening with your establishment from our extremely negative Suncoast experience.Now with an inoperable satellite radio, and subsequently discovered Bluetooth connection, my mother took her car and left. The following day she took it to Best Buy to have them look at the satellite radio. In a very short time, the technician there informed us the reason that the radio (and the Bluetooth) were not operable was that the wires to it had been cut and/or disconnected.You can draw your own associations to what has happened here. In the end we were charged $40.00 by Best Buy to install a new radio. We were also charged for fixing the broken signals by your team that I feel were unnecessary since I remember seeing them work on the way to your dealership that day. A dealerships service quality and customer service are vital to its customers and to its business. We now have to find another dealership with which to take her car! We felt it was important to inform all of you of our experience in the hopes that another customer does not experience this.

For quite some time I have been searching for a used BMW Z3 with low miles and in very good condition. When I saw one listed at Suncoast that sounded like it fit the bill like so many others that I have looked into in the past three years I said to myself "Here we go again" expecting that the car would really be only half as nice as advertised. After contacting Chuck on the internet and receiving a very quick and informative response on the phone I felt that this just might be different than my past experience with other dealerships in South Florida. He spoke in detail answering all my questions in a way that made me feel like he was sincere and honest in his appraisal of the vehicle I was interested in. I work on average approximately 65 hours a week so it is not easy to find time to make a 2 1/2 hour trip to get to a dealership to see it first hand. I decided to take a vacation day and make the trip based on my phone conversation with Chuck without telling him I was coming. I waited until Friday as I knew from an earlier conversation that he would be out on Thursday but he had offered to set me up with another salesman if I decided to make the trip. I wanted to see the car myself before speaking with any salesman knowing what I had been through in the past at other dealerships. WOW! What a surprise the car was exactly as described and exactly what I was after. Chuck worked diligently with us and his general manager to finally reach a price that was affordable to me and acceptable to the dealership. The paperwork went smoothly and quickly and we were on the way back to Ocala in the car I have searched for over the past three years. If my wife needed another car tomorrow I would not buy anywhere without at least checking the inventory at Suncoast VW. Great car with a great experience.

After the salesman and I agreed on a price the finance guy got involved and changed the deal by raising it $1,000. I protested mightily and feel that because I am both femal and older they thought they could take advantage of me. After all sorts of finagling we came within $470 of reaching agreement and even though the salesman said they would never lose a deal for several hundred dollars that is what they did. I really wanted to buy a car from them and they made it impossible. I was treated nicely and politely on the service but their treatment of me was insulting.

Bringing in two cars - both VW's - to trade for a new vehicle - we were told by the sales man (Marcus) Sun Coast would give us $11,000 for one of the cars in trade, with an additional $5,500 for the 2nd, an older vehicle... Liking what we were quoted we explained, we'd return home, make the financial arrangements and be back in a few days with the $ and cars to consummate the sale... Upon returning to Sun Coast some three days later, with us now sitting there with the cars to trade and money in hand we were then told, '...no, we can only give you $2,500 for the 2nd car. The sales manager told us the sales person should not have quoted us such a figure. Why then have salesmen???? I found the folks at Sun Coast to be dishonest and unscrupulous. I would not recommend anyone utilize their services. The folks at Sun Coast are the reason people joke about cars salesmen being dishonest' and in this case, rightfully so. The folks at Sun Coast cannot be trusted. Owning my own company, if I had employees like the ones we came across at Sun Coast I would appalled and certainly ashamed I had such employees working for me both the salesmen, along with sales manager.

Bought a used VW Beetle, within 48 hours had multiple issues. I reported the issues to the dealership immediately. One of which is the passenger air bag sensor doesn't work, I've been waiting for a fix, the other...the back window on the convertible top is coming "unglued". Great! Seven months later and after numerous attempts to work with the dealership the issues have not been resolved and I face paying at least $2500 to fix. The manager admits I was overcharged and that VW Beetles made in 2006,2007, 2008 were crap, but is not willing to do anything about it. His advice was to come back and buy a more expensive used car that has a warranty. No thanks!BTW...Beetle is a 2007 with 32,000 miles.
