Very timely with inquiry responses provides additional details for vehicles. Very knowledgeable about inventory and transparent with information. I have not visited in person or purchased a vehicle..yet :)

I spent thousands and thousands of dollars on a vehicle from Jake. I did not receive a spare key at the time. I am now in need of one and was hoping that the dealership I bought my car from would be more than willing to help considering I gave them business. However, that's not the case. Jake will not provide me with a spare key because we did not agree upon that when I bought the vehicle. As I always thought Jake and his business were respectful, it is disheartening that he will not help a customer with something that is so minor to a shop that should have been done in the first place, providing a spare key. Considering I even drove all the way from Iowa to get the vehicle, I would expect a little something back, I even offered to pay for the shipping of the key. It's very disappointing and upsetting that this business cares more about saving a couple bucks rather than satisfying a previous customer. It is obvious that the "care" for the customer is done once the vehicle and customer leave the lot.

Great customer service. Jake is a nice guy, honest, helpful, and forthcoming. I would highly recommend using and trusting them, even though they are not your typical big dealership.

Found a Jeep Warngler listed at Sure Fire Motor, called and visited with Jake about the condition/pricing. Jake was very upfront with the condition of this Jeep that had been in a collision and repaired. Even provided pictures before it was repaired. We drove 420 miles, one way to buy this Jeep. Once we arrived Jake immediately told me it was missing one critical option that was listed on the description. Jake took full responsibility, apologized and we made the decision not to purchase it and left his facility. Jake called me and wanted to try and work something out, we visited, came to an agreement and we went back to his lot. Test drove the Jeep and made our deal. In this fast paced world we live in, it's easy to miss something small and make an honest mistake. I appreciate Jake owning up to it, doing everything in his power to make it right, not giving up on the deal and making a customer happy. Hats off to you Jake for your honesty, integrity and willingness to make this deal right.

I bought a Subaru Outback from Surefire motors back in 2010. Jake and Bet have been there for me every time I've had needed maintenance. Wether it's been breaks, timing belt, head gaskets or a windshield. They have always backed up their work and even had a loaner car for the day till the maintenance work was finished. Soon I'll be looking for a car for my son and I wouldn't consider anywhere else but Surefire Motors.

As we pulled into Surefire Motors, my dad and I had some reservations about buying a salvaged vehicle. However, after driving a 2014 Subaru Forester rebuilt by Bat, we started to change our minds. The car handled like a...well...like you would expect a practically new car to handle. You would never know that it had been it a wreck--frankly if Jake hadn't provided the before photos it would be hard to believe. Not only did the car run like a dream, but while we were looking it over the officer in charge of the inspections on salvaged vehicles mentioned to us that Surefire Motors does some of the best work that he sees. Bat was great and took us through his whole process, and by the end I was convinced that he was the kind of person to go the extra mile to ensure quality work. No one ever pressured us into purchasing the vehicle (the work spoke for itself), and when I decided to do business with them the asking price was so fair I didn't feel like negotiating. They also offer a 90 day %100 warranty. What's more, Surefire is a small operation run by the kind of people you'll trust doing business with. As a recent grad a salvaged title was my best bet for getting a low mileage vehicle at a price I could actually handle. Thanks you guys, Ill be driving my Subaru for a very long time:)

Stellar service! They are honest and fair and we got a great car. We drove in from Steamboat to get our car here and it was absolutely worth it. I will be purchasing my next car here too. We had one small issue with a tire and Jake went out of his way to fix the issue. I could not ask for better service, and we love the car!

We purchased a Subaru Forester from SureFire Motors in October 2015. We found the quality of their cars to be very good, and prices to be very fair. Jake, in particular, was superb. We would certainly consider buying a car from Jake again, and would recommend the same to our friends and family.

I was looking for a reliable AWD vehicle for my daughter who attends college out of state and is driving in the winter. I found a Subaru Impreza that Jake and Bat had purchased and repaired. They gave me a copy of the repair invoice, showed me the pictures from before, and encouraged me to take the car and have it checked out. I did so and a thorough inspection revealed nothing new. The car was just as advertised. What's better though is that Jake and Bat were 100% transparent, honest, and responsive. I even had a few small followup items and they called me back quickly and were very helpful. I'd highly recommend these guys. You'll have a good experience and save some money too!

You'll get a a quality car with an honest disclosure of what's been done. They won't kill themselves to sell you one. That's good because there's no pressure. What's not as good as that it can border on feeling as if they don't care all that much if you buy it or not.

Bought my 2003 VW Jetta Wagon there a year ago. I dealt primarily with Jake. He worked on my car, and new it inside and out. There was no pressure, and lots of patience as I asked tons of questions, (it was my first time buying a car). Love my car. It's 10 years old and has 125k miles, It still looks super sharp. After negotiating some repairs it checked out A++ for a pre-sale inspection by my own VW mechanic Jake was great to have let me take it to my own mechanic for an inspection, other used car dealers didn't allow that. I would buy here again, but hopefully I won't have to for a while : ) I gave customer service 4 stars because sometimes it took them a while to return a phone call, but that was because they were busy working on cars, which is totally understandable. Makes you feel better actually that they spent more time working on cars instead of watching TV in their office. Once the sale and transactions were underway, they were always available on first ring. Oh- it's not a glamorous office, it's not in a glamorous neighborhood. The people that work there really care about cars, not about making you feel warm and fuzzy. I read reviews that said don't let the mechanic-vibe of the place deter you. After all you want to buy a car from people who like and care about cars, not about the waiting lounge decor. Jake was great and sells an honest product. I totally recommend Surefire Motors.

Went to Surefire about 3 months ago and looked at a '02 CRV. Jake was up front with the work done on it and had no problem with me taking it to a mechanic for an inspection. He was negotiable on price, and finished up the work he had in progress on it. He even did a couple more things on it that I hadn't even noticed. Have had no problems with it, so didn't have to take him up on the 3 month warranty he offered - this was a big selling point for me, as most places don't provide that on used vehicles (I considered going to CarMax, but their prices were so much higher for similar vehicles, and their warranty is only for 30 days). A no frills office, yes - but friendly service and nice vehicles for sale at good prices. Happy with my nice little CRV! Definitely check them out!

Bat was really helpful and personable. We missed out on the car we wanted, a communication mix-up, and we ended up in a newer year, same model...less miles! Same price! I don't ever write reviews, but i always read them, and this is part of the reason we took a chance on a salvage/rebuilt from them. we were skeptical they had so many perfect reviews, but I honestly can't think of a way in which our experience could have been better.

I bought a 2003 Audi Allroad from Jake at Surefire. He warrantied all the work he had done on the car and stood by those repairs. He also really helped me out when I decided to replace the airbag suspension with traditional coil springs. I couldn't be happier with the transaction. Buying a car from Surefire Motors is much much better than buying from a private seller.

It was nice to deal with a real person and not some slick salesman asking me what kind of payments I can afford. I knew exactly what I was getting with the 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca Jake sold me even though I had only looked at it online. Jake was very upfront with the previous body damage the vehicle had and provided me before pictures. They did a good job fixing it up and sold it to me at a very fair price. Jake suggested a third party pre-purchase inspection. They did find a few minor things wrong with it and Jake took care of it. They were very prompt in getting it fixed and actually cared that they were selling me a good used vehicle that worked. I live in ND, but Surefire has earned my future business. They will be the first place I look when buying another Subaru. Jake is actually searching for a Baja for me right now. My son is getting his license soon and we will be looking for his first vehicle with Surefire as well. It is worth it to travel that far when I know I am getting great service and a great car. I would rather travel 700 miles and buy a vehicle from someone I trust than travel 7 miles and deal with a typical used car salesman. The Tribeca drove back to ND with zero problems and has been working great. My wife is loving it and loves having a Subaru again. Thanks Jake.

After going to several dealerships around the city looking for a good used car, we were very apprehensive to visit even one more dealership. However, after reading the reviews on cars.com and looking at the selection, we decided to go to Surefire. The reviews were spot on! The place is at the end of an industrial area, so definitely park on the street. Jake and Bat are wonderful and easy to work with. They do not pressure you in any way, and have some amazing cars for sale. They also offer rebuilt salvaged cars which kept me skeptical for a while. So after calling my insurance company three times to reaffirm the ability to get a rebuilt salvage title insured, we were ready to buy! The entire experience taught me that insurance companies will total out cars with little damage (especially older models). So, now I am the proud owner of a great car and have paid much less! Additionally, I feel like I have found an honest dealer and repair shop that I plan to go back to from this point forward. However, one thing to keep in mind is that they turn over cars quickly due to their competitive pricing and ease of service. So, if you find something you like there, put some money down for them to hold it. Otherwise, you will probably loose out on the deal.

We have now had four dealings with Jake and the people at Surefire Motors. First, we bought a 4Runner a few years ago and it was great and such a good deal. The experience was so good that the first place we look is at Surefire's website. Twice we've had major repair work done by Surefire and appreciate their knowledge and honesty. So, when we happened to see a car on their website recently, we decided to go down and buy it. We knew that the description would be accurate, that they would be honest about the car's condition, that they are knowledgeable, and that the transaction would be easy and trouble free. It was. We bought It and have driven it a lot during the last five weeks and it's just perfect. I should mention that Surefire has the best deals anywhere. I recommend Surefire Motors any time buying a car comes up with friends and family.

I should start by saying I did not buy a car from them because something else came up. However, after dealing with them and talking to them about what they do, I think it is a good option for anyone in the market for a used car. Nothing was hidden, they were up front about the status of title and were willing to discuss any of the repairs they made and show pictures.

The car I bought three years ago from surefire is still working great but I was in search of a second car. The first place I went to look was surefire. I decided to look at a 2002 wrx; it had a salvage title. I was a bit apprehensive about buying it but after looking at the car and test driving everything looks great, no issues. Now I've had it for a few months now and still no problems. If you are thinking about buying a used car and don't want to deal with the usual sleazy used car salesmen check out this place. On a side note if it is your first time to surefire, park on the street before you enter the complex area and walk over.

My husband and I own a 2008 Subaru Forester, purchased from Surefire in late July. The price seemed fair to us and they explained the work they had done. Shortly after purchase, husband drove up to Grand Lake and got a check engine light plus non functional cruise control. Oh no, we were gullible, we thought! Surefire stood by their work. After we got a computer reading to explain the error, Surefire fixed the problem and gave us a car to drive while they worked on it. The car has been to Grand Lake and back without trouble since then. Surefire's approach is to buy at auction cars that have mostly body damage, then fix that and whatever else they find. Our Subaru had a new head gasket installed, and I learned on the internet that it's a problem with those engines. They dealt with it before it was absolutely necessary. Preemptively. Jake, Bat, and the rest of the crew focus on just two or three makes of cars, because they believe they are good quality. If appearances matter to you, Surefire is not the dealer to try. They are located near a lot of scrap metal dealers, cars are mostly just parked out front, and the office is messy. We were warned not to sit in the chairs near the desk. Not slick. But they stand by their work, which is far more important to me. PS Our previous Forester hit an elk. Elk suffered, so did the front of the Forester, but the driver had no injuries and the passenger cabin had damage. That's why we shopped for another one like it.

I bought a 2009 Toyota Corolla with a salvage title from these guys. I knew exactly what I was buying, so I made them aware I was going to get the car checked by a certified mechanic, when I get it home to Nevada and would call them back if I find anything major. Because I told them I was driving it home that day, they helped me check all the lights to be sure they work at night and other safety checks. By the way, they also helped a friend with her car door free of charge, when I was doing the paperwork. I got the car home without any problems. My mechanic did not find anything wrong with the car. It was a pleasure dealing with them. I think some of the feedback is unfair, when you deal with guys like these you have to understand you are buying a car from a gear head not a salesman...with time they probably will shift into the salesman mode, but I would rather buy a car from these guys than a sleek car salesman any day. If you do your research and know what you want or are getting into you will be happy dealing with them.

Im going to start this review with the same sentence Ill end it with: SureFire Motors is THE place to get a car, period. To elaborate, I had been in the market for months before checking out SureFire Motors. I knew exactly what kind of car I wanted (down to make + model), with what kind of mileage and what kind of price. I looked at several dealers and independent sellers, but couldnt find a good mix of value and car. Jake and his crew had it exactly, and were completely honest and upfront about the car and its history. They were literally the only dealer I could find with it. I ran an independent Carfax (even though they provide a different, similar service at the shop) and everything checked out. I then did my homework on the car, and asked about everything error codes, the work they performed, and what I could expect as an owner. As an FYI, they warranty all work done by the shop, which is awesome, and they answered every question I had. Anyway, I was ready to buy, but wanted to do a timing belt job (elective the original functioned but I wanted it replaced). Jake was understanding and responsive, and agreed to do the work. Unfortunately, part-way through the job damage was done to the engine. I was definitely worried, but heres the kicker: Jake not only agreed to cover ALL of the damage done as part of the ELECTIVE service, he did the work himself and didnt charge me - absolutely unheard of for a dealer. I just picked up the car a few days ago, and couldnt be happier. Im telling everyone far and wide, this is the place to get a car. The shop isnt much to look at (basically the end of a strip of warehouse-type buildings), and neither the sales area, but who cares. Im not purchasing the look of the building, what Im interested in is a reliable car with honest service. Thats exactly what I got at SureFire. As a final note, I plan on brining my vehicle back for any service needs for the foreseeable future. Bottom line: SureFire Motors is THE place to get a car, period.

Jake sold me a Honda CRV almost 4 years ago. It had been in a crash, and Jake told me about the crash, was honest about the car's history and even showed me pictures pre-repairs. He encouraged me to take it to my mechanic and did not hard sell me at all. In fact, he said to ask my regular mechanic to really check the A/C compressor because it didn't sound right. My mechanic said that the compressor sounded fine, and gave me a few minor items to fix, but said he would buy the car if he were me. Jake fixed the issues and I told him the compressor was fine, but he seemed skeptical. He also gave me a 30 day powertrain warranty, which surprised me since my car was 8 years old at the time. Five months later, the car was running great, but the compressor broke! I took it to a Honda dealership who told me I needed to replace the whole A/C system for $3,200!!! I called Jake instead. He checked it and said I only needed a new compressor, and found one for me and did the work for $500. The A/C has worked great for more than 3 years since, and I have had no other issues with the car, which is now 12 years old. I would definitely buy from him again!

You get what you pay for. . .great car and no gimmicks, no frills no thrills. I was a little concerned when pulling into the place (not your typical auto dealer parking lot) but still extremely eager and optimistic because I had done my shopping beforehand and knew I was looking at a great deal if what I came to see (2011 Impreza) was advertised truthfully. I was pleased to find the car (after test driving) just how Jake had it listed. Now almost two years later, I continue to drive a reliable car that has had zero issues. Jake and his crew saved me years of payments on a virtually new car. I like it when the dealer has a confidence that says, "take it or leave it. . .someone else will be right on your heels for a great deal" and backs it up with, "bring it back for any reason if you have any problem". Me and my wife bought a 2007 Toyota Prius from Surefire motor and it was an excellent experience and a great choice to go to them. Their customer service is very friendly, straight forward and honest. It was like we were actually dealing with human being for once in the car dealership business. Perhaps they are not the neatest when it comes to their workspace but you got to look past that because all you are taking home is the vehicle. The buying process was also very smooth. I bought a 2009 Forester from Surefire about 2 months ago and would definitely buy from them again. They gave me a significantly better price than anywhere else on a great car. They were very pleasant to deal with and made the buying process very easy (I had a limited amount of time to make the purchase and they worked with me so I was able to get it finished in time.) The car was very clean and ran well. As other reviewers said, they were a little difficult to find and their office was not the cleanest place, but I was more concerned about getting a great price on a great car than the atmosphere. The only downside is that while they put a new timing belt in prior to selling the car, my mechanic said the job was not done properly and had to be redone, so I ended up having to get some work done (which frankly I expected with a used car with some 80,000 miles on it. Other than that, my mechanic said the car was in great shape and should last for years. So, I would definitely recommend buying from Surefire - although it always makes sense to take a car to your own mechanic to check out before buying.

I noticed a great looking Subaru Forester on the Surefire Motors website. I checked the Carfax on the vehicle and it became apparent that the car was in a wreck at one point. When asking what repairs had been completed to a 2003 Forester, this is what I was initially told: "Look at the pictures you can make your own list up. There was no frame we put new tires on it and got a four wheel alignment done on it. It looks and runs great. If you can't make the trip I understand Thanks Jake" Thanks but, NO THANKS. This should speak for itself. Shady Business.

First off...The place was not the easiest to find(luckily my G.P.S. picked it up). It's, pretty much, hidden in an industrial/warehouse area, no signs pointing in the right direction. Anyway, I was overly optimistic, based on the previous comments I read. The fellow who first started talking to me didn't even introduce himself nor tell me who he was or his position! So, we go in 'the office' to talk. Let me mention-if you're gonna have a place open to the public, at least clean it up a little and make it look somewhat appealing! :( Random Joe asks me what I'm looking for. I tell him a '98 Subaru which I saw on their website. "Oh, that one sold already. We've got another Subaru that's gonna be available on Saturday." I proceeded to ask him about an Audi from the website also. I asked to see the "Carfax" report, as is shown on the Cars.com website. "Oh, we use a different site, but it's almost as good as Carfax!" I told Nameless Bob that I was interested in trading off my Jeep Renegade. Rather than asking for details, or even going out to get a VIN, he asks me...."How much is it worth?" I tell him, the Kelly Blue Book value is right around $4900. Now, please note, HE NEVER EVEN ASKED TO LOOK AT IT OR ANYTHING! His response, sight unseen.... "Oh, you'll never get that kind of money out of it!"During our negotiations, this fellow had some friends or acquaintances walking in and out and they were speaking in a foreign language. I am one of the least prejudice people you will find. I DO get offended when I am trying to conduct business and someone else is interrupting. And, in a language where I can't even recognize what is being said! When I told Phantom Salesman that I was not being treated fairly and I stood up to leave, he didn't even ask any questions and just allowed me to walk out on my own. REALLY? Then I returned about an hour later. NOBODY even resembling a salesperson was there. Another 'random guy' proceeded to tell me...."He had to run some errands, he'll be back later."The bottom line-A VERY disappointing attempt at a buying experience. And, it's too bad, cause they may have some decent vehicles in the inventory.

I purchased a Subaru WRX from Jake at Surefire Motors. His honest approach to selling and servicing the customer, and going beyond to meet the customer's needs is very rare in the Used Car business. Most want to move cars quickly, get you out the door and not care much after the sale. Certainly not the case with Jake. Honest, works with the customer on any mechanical issues, and does not provide the high pressure sales pitch. If you are looking for an economical used car at great prices, you should check with Jake. He provides warranties on power trains, which is very unusual for cars over 10 years old.
