1 hour 45 min oil change they had to do twice because they put the wrong type in the first time. Slow and no attention to detail.

Do not waste your time with this dealership or service department, especially with GUY PERKINS. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to either Bozeman or Missoula to do business. I have always had my vehicles serviced by an authorized toyota dealership from Texas (Patterson), Louisiana (Lakeside), Illinois (Groove). I've never encountered a place like TOYOTA OF BUTTE that was so hungry to MAKE A BUCK today, they were willing to lose future business to just make $50. In the last three weeks, I've had my brakes, rack and pinion, left and right cv boot, and tie rods replace, totalling close to $6,000 worth of work. I visited Toyota of Butte Service Department (working with with GUY PERKINS) on 8/24/2016 for a small complainant of wheel balance / alignment issue, after driving back to Montana from Texas. Guy Perkins had the audacity to still charge me $50, to just re-check my alignment after explaining all of the work that was just completed, 15% of which was a MISC fee for supplies and fluids. I was left speechless. That was followed by GUY PERKINS encouraging and recommending me to come back in a few months and have my suspension (shocks and struts) replaced for another $1,800. This dealership lacks the common touch of customer service to a loyal Toyota customers, who has had several 4runners over the years and looking to purchase a brand new 2017 4Runner in the coming months. And now if that wasn't enough, I followed up with Guy Perkins the following day to inquire about his 15% MISC fee. He stated it was industry standard; we finally ended the conversation, with him stating, "I don't believe you're the type of customer our dealership would like to do business with if you're going to fight me [Guy Perkins] over a $50 service bill." Who says that?! Clearly, not an honest or customer oriented service department. Like I said, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! This service department doesn't see that sometimes you need to extend a courtesy, especially to customer, who's paid a considerable amount of money, to build the a lasting relationship that will bring more business in the future. A sad day for customer service.

We bought our 2010 Tundra at Toyota of Butte and have no complaints about the salesman, who no longer works there, or the purchase experience. We are very happy with the 0% financing that Toyota offered, and we like the truck. We bought a three year service package, so all scheduled service was pre-paid. The first time they didn't replace a cap, it was the radiator cap. Because I had no reason to look under the hood, it wasn't discoved until the next service. They told me I would have to order a new one since they didn't have any in stock and pay out of pocket for it. I refused since it was obvious what had happened, demanded they take one off a truck on the lot, order one to replace it and pay for it themselves. They did with very little argument. The next incident left us stuck in the mountains. It was fortunate we had another vehicle. They took the caps off the battery (for some strange reason) and didn't replace them. We discovered it when we killed the battery camping and went to jump the battery only to discover a lot of corrosion and half the battery acid gone. The service manager of course denied that they had doneI but no one else ever even pops the hood. Just yesterday, having learned a lesson, we checked all the caps after the service was complete and found the engine air filter unclipped. It just happens way to often for me to be comfortable with these people tinkering in my truck. They aren't careful, don't pay attention to detail, lie about their mistakes rather than be to accountable. That's just not acceptable. As a side note, as a grown woman, I find it demeaning and insulting to be called 'dear' or 'hon' by the service guy at the dealership when he goes over the checklist with me. Or when he tells me to let my husband know about particular things so 'he will take care of them if he knows ok dear?', especially when I can't explain away the demeaning mannerism through age since the guy is only a few years older than me at most. A simple 'miss', 'ma'am', or calling me by name would be preferable. I hope Toyota Corporate steps in and fixes these failings, reading other reviews it's not just me, and I've been dealing with it for 5 years. Not good Toyota.

This dealership has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. In July, 2013 we brought in our 2003 ES 300 because the air conditioning light was flashing and the a/c no longer cooling. The mechanic concluded that the air compressor was weak and required replacement. Since the estimated cost to replace the unit was $1200.00 in addition to the $180.00 they charged to diagnose the problem, we opted to hold off getting it fixed at Toyota of Butte and sought an independent a/c shop in Las Vegas, our holiday destination. It's a good thing we did! When in Vegas we had a shop that specialized in a/c repair look at it, and they quickly determined that the problem was electrical in nature and had nothing to do with the compressor. After cleaning a few connections the a/c was working fine. The problem reappeared this spring and this time I did some research online to see what might be causing it. I was surprised by the number of people who had experienced similar problems with their 2002-2006 Camrys and who had been told by their Toyota dealerships that they needed a new compressor. From my research I discovered that in many of these cases, mine included, the fix was a simple magnetic relay switch, a $13.00 item that I bought on ebay. This summer, we once again headed south and when visiting Idaho Falls we stopped at Teton Toyota and had them install the magnetic relay switch. In conversation with their mechanics they made it clear to me that this was source of the problem all along. So on our return trip to Canada, I stopped at Toyota of Butte Montana and told them that I would like a refund for the money I gave them to misdiagnose my car. They refused on the grounds that their mechanic had spent time trying to determine the problem and that I would have to pay them for that. I told them that I wasn't interested in paying for their time, but rather for their competence. If they got it wrong, well then the cost of getting it wrong should be bourn by them and not the customer. If I went into a restaurant and ordered a cheese burger and the waitress brought me a cheese omelette, should I be expected to pay for the omelette? No way! I appreciate that the cook spent time and resources making it, but mistakes happen and that's part of the cost of doing business that any respectable business must absorb. Anyway, after much bickering and few choice words, the service manager a Toyota of Butte did agree in principle that I was possibly entitled to some kind of refund, however I would have to provide detailed documentation of the work done in Las Vegas and in Idaho Falls. I have given Toyota of Butte the name of the Toyota service manager in Idaho Falls and have encouraged Toyota of Butte to call Teton Toyota to confirm that they did install the magnetic relay. I have also forwarded Toyota of Butte copies of the receipts from the work done in both Vegas and Idaho Falls. Thus far Toyota of Butte has done nothing about this problem. If this is the kind of stuff they do to keep a mere $180.00, I hate to think what they would do to keep larger sums. If you're thinking of buying a car, or having work done on your car by this dealership, you might want to think again.

My wife and I went there this past weekend to trade in our 2011 Corolla and we were shocked by what we were able to do. We needed a bigger vehicle and wound up getting a 2014 Sienna. The dealer worked with us to get the vehicle within our budget and i have not had this great of an experience with a dealer in years. I highly recommend this place and talk to Wayne, he will hook you up!

I recently purchased a used Toyota Tundra from Toyota of Butte, in Butte, Montana. My sales agent, John Gillespie, was wonderful to work with. He and his team made me feel comfortable, and the atmosphere provided made it enjoyable to buy a new vehicle. Other dealerships I've had experience with often made me feel like if I didn't make a decision immediately, then the vehicle would either be sold to someone else on the spot, or I wouldn't have another chance to make an offer. John and his co workers have a great way of dealing with the public, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new or used car.Justin

This was our second time when we went to Toyota of Butte for an oil change on our Toyota vehicle. We had no problems the first time. This time however, after they finished changing the oil and air filter the car was driven for only 2 miles and the CEL came on indicating a faulty O2 sensor. We asked questions of what could have happened, but we were repeatedly told that the O2 sensor was broken and that it was just a coincidence that it broke right at the time of service. They insisted that the sensor needed to be replaced, and that the whole thing would cost in excess of $400! It's hard to put in words the disappointment, particularly when the very people that are supposed to fix your car cause more damage to it. I'm not sating that this was something malicious, as I am very well aware that in life accidents do happen... however to insist that this was a coincidence (BTW the internet is full of similar stories, with dealerships claiming coincidences). The saddest part is that we will not be able to service our car at this place in the future.

We had a agreement to buy a 2012 Toyota Tacoma, signed Purchase Order and they sold the truck to someone else without even telling us. If they wanted more money, don't send us a contract to sign, then back out of the deal and ignore our emails.Just be open and honest with the customer. I did not expect this from a Toyota dealership. Usually this happens when dealing with the lesss desireable places. Would think that a Toyota dealership would have a Code of Ethics. Guess not.

Thank you Adam for all your hard work! My husband and I are very happy with our Scion IQ. Adam was by far the best salesman I've ever worked with and the most "HONEST"! Adam stayed late on Friday night in order for me to drive from Helena to Butte and have my new car for the weekend. Adam you're the best! Sincerely, Tal and Wendy Redpath

The purchase went smoothly compared to most dealers I've done business with in this area. Salesman was knowledgable and patient with my questions and requirements. Toyota and dealership asked for a lot of personal information even though I paid cash which made me uncomfortable. Bottom line is the vehicle is great so far and was delivered in a professional manner for the most part.

We stopped really with no intention of buying a new car but looked at the RAV4 and really really loved the car, so in the end we took it home with us and both of us really love it. The people we worked with were superb and really interested in helping us buy the car. We give you a ten and will definitly send anyone we know your way for a great shopping experience.

We purchased a Toyota a few years ago from Butte Toyota (at their old location) and were impressed at that time with the friendliness, lack of "pushy" sales people, and the ease and speed at which the buying process was completed. As our recent visits have shown, this business has maintained that unusual, high level of customer satisfaction. We had an older Toyota van repaired a month or so ago and were very impressed by the Service Dept and Trevor Schmidt. Trevor took the time to sit down with us and go over the repairs and the future repairs that would be needed. When we returned to have an estimate done for another problem with this older Toyota van Trevor did the same. Meantime, we looked at some used Toyotas and ended up purchasing a new 2011 Corolla. I am brand loyal to Toyota (I've owned 8) and dealership loyal to Toyota of Butte--excellent people in both the sales and repair departments.

I recently went to Toyota of Butte on Feb. 17th to be exact, and purchased my 2008 Chevy Uplander. My sales rep Adam was very helpfull, and nice. I purchased the vehicle that day and had a problem with the light for the tire gauge going off, they tried resetting it, and told me to come back if it doesn't reset itself. I did go back and they sent me to butte gm to get the problem fixed. I then had another problem with it and they put air in tires. They were very proficiant as to the customers needs.
