A heads up to anyone not from NC. When you pay for tax, title, tag...you will still get a bill when you get your tag!!! WTH?! I have only purchased vehicles in New York state, the dealer registers the vehicle and you do not receive a (hundreds of dollars)bill until its time for registration renewal. If the car is awesome and the service department is transparent and competent, life will be good!

I went to get my Camry serviced and the customer service was great! I can't remember my service advisor's name but He was welcoming, (told me I could help myself to some coffee) respectful and woke it was a 7:30 appointment😊 They completed my 45 K service and a State Inspection. Keep up the good work, I was only there about 40 minutes!

TLDR: the service department in this dealership recommends unnecessary work and charges more than they should in my opinion. I am unhappy with the service department of this Toyota dealership. I brought in my Prius v because it seemed to have an electrical problem. I called ahead of time and scheduled an appointment and the person I talked to said that I could use a loaner car. When I got there, there was no loaner car available and later someone explained to me that they don't reserve it ahead of time. I didn't plan on taking the whole morning off of work so I would have preferred if they had told me that it was only a possibility of getting a loaner car. The problem with my car ended up being the 12 volt battery needed replacing. So I ended up paying $418 for the battery to be replaced. The estimate that they gave me included $115 for diagnosing the problem, $266 for the battery, and almost $500 worth of services that had nothing to do with the battery (that they recommended without knowing any work that has been done on my car). I had them replace the battery only, but as I was leaving I realized that they charged me more than the estimate. When I brought it to their attention they did refund me $35 because they overcharged me for labor for installing the battery. They did also give me a $25 discount which I am not sure if it was for not having a loaner car or if they could just see how shocked I was by the price. I knew that the 12 volt batteries in a Prius are more expensive. But I did some research after the fact and while they did charge me the correct price for the battery and for the labor to install the battery (in the end), the $115 to diagnose the problem seems incredibly high. The dealership charges $120 an hour for labor so did it take them almost an hour to figure out that the battery needed replacing? All the people that I interacted with from the service department were perfectly pleasant and answered all my questions. I don't think that any of them did anything wrong other than follow the policy of this dealership to have people pay as much as possible. When I got my first car, I was taught the car dealerships might be more expensive than other mechanics but that they were trustworthy and would not try to get you to do work that was unnecessary. If you don't know a good private mechanic, go to a dealership. Not anymore. I love my Toyota but after my experience buying it at the Jacksonville dealership and today's experience, I will avoid Toyota dealerships at all costs.

Do not drive out of your way to get here!!! I spoke with Jenny Valentin on the phone literally ALL day about a used vehicle. She went back and forth with me on a price and we finally agreed on an out the door price. They are over an hour away. She ASSURED me that she has four kids and that she's a trustworthy person so I wouldn't be wasting my time if I drove there. I have a 15 month old. So driving anywhere is never really that pleasant. We went to the bank and got the loan for the amount she said. Mind you under the VIN she gave us. She told us it would be detailed and ready for us when we got there for our 630 appointment. When we walked in no one had any idea what we were talking about. Jenny had left for the day. I double checked to make sure we were even at the right dealership. We were! The car (which by the way is a $40,000 SUV) wasn't pulled up and most certainly wasn't detailed. When they went and got it it looked like someone was living inside of it. There was dirty bottles, change everywhere and shirts in the back of it. It was a mess. We were toldIt had 9000 miles on it and some change. When we got there it had 10, 000 approaching 11,000. Something was for sure off. But I was again assured that it wouldbe detailed and ready for me to go. They had me drive it. Then sat me down and quoted me literally thousands more that what Jenny and I agreed on. I was both flabbergasted and very angry. They took my phone with all our texts and came back with it. Their response? "Sorry Jenny is new and doesn't really know what she's doing so she was in the wrong telling you this." If I could share screen shots on here I would. We literally were texting all day. And she most certainly was talking with her sales manager. Why make her look like an incompetent little girl? Oh that's right. Because they never intended to honor what they said to begin with. And this was all a ruse to get me there. I don't care if they call me and tell me they'll honor below what I was initially offered. I'll never go back to this place again. They are untrustworthy and a great way to waste your time. I can't imagine that the vehicles they sell are not lemons. It's likely just a lucky shot if you get a good one.

Recently purchased a new SUV at Toyota of New Bern. Bruce Smith was our salesman and he was excellent. Patient, straightforward, easy to deal with. Once we had reached a deal, I was turned over to "finance". This basically consisted of signing papers and having extended warranty pushed on me. I found this to be obnoxious. The reason I bought the Toyota was for its reliability. Then the finance guy starts telling me that I will need this coverage and how everything is so expensive to fix these days. I felt like saying "well if this vehicle is going to be such a maintenance headache, then forget the deal". If it were not for the interaction with finance, I would have rated the experience a ten.

My rating is based on the professionalism the minute I pulled up. Knowledge of the product that I was purchasing, and the whole team at Toyota of New Bern went above, and beyond to make me feel right at home. I drove over 4 hours to get there, and will drive it again on my next Toyota purchase. I was not very knowledgeable about the technology in the car but, my sales person Chad Smith was very patient with me teaching me every aspect of the vehicle. Also, Chad gave me a tour of the facility of the service department never had that done at any other dealership in the past. This is my first Toyota but, not my last. Impressed from beginning to end.

I would recommend this dealership to my grandmother, neighbor, and my friends. They have a staff that ranges in age from early 20's to your veterans. A fully certified sales team that has s professionalism that is unfounded in today's age. They have a Business Development team that is very prompt in their phone call replies. The New Bern Toyota was by far the best Toyota Dealership I have dealt with in 20 years. I currently reside in Jacksonville NC where car shopping became a game of cat and mouse. You cannot pull into the dealership without being ambushed by sales trying to get you to talk numbers before even knowing what you are looking for in a car. My wife and I decided to take a drive to New Bern and what a great experience it was. We were able to walk around the lot without the stress of having a salesperson hover over us trying to get us inside to talk numbers. When the time came we entered the dealership and was met by Michael Moore. He took the time to find us the car we were looking for. I told him what I was able to pay and he very easily worked out a deal for us. It was such a easy process, there was no going back and forth playing the numbers game. I would highly recommend visiting Toyota of New Bern before checking anywhere else in the area. Ask for Michael Moore.

I am now the owner of a 2014 Toyota Tundra 4x4 TRD package thanks to the great folks of New Bern Toyota! This make my 6th tundra. The previous 5 were leased through Toyota. The trucks were great and a joy to drive. My salesman experance from 2000 to 2014 has grown to the pleasure of dealiing with Bruce Smith whom has helped me with the last couple leases and two purchases one for my wife and myself. He has been great without the high pressure tactics and pushiness that some can use. Bruce always asks, "what are you looking for and how can I help?" Bruce has been a great help! Then there are the two finace guys. I have had the pleasure of meeting both. Each time they were very polite and not pushy at all. The last one Tony was probably the best guy ever to have gone over finace papers and explain in detail what I was signing and helping me to make sure I understood. Last week I contacted several dealerships from Raleigh to the shore because I needed a new car in a hurry. I didn't have a gob of free time to shop around and I had specific needs regarding this new car. I am happy to report that the internet/phone representative from Toyota at New Bern, Kimberlee N., was by far the most polite and professional person I spoke to from any of those dealerships (you know what I'm referring to if you have been contacted by some of these so-called customer service reps...) Because of her courteous and thoughtful demeanor I felt comfortable booking an appointment with their sales staff. I was not disappointed, in fact I would have to say that my entire experience at Toyota of New Bern was top notch. I found every person I met there to be pleasant and helpful, so much so that I would highly recommend these folks the next time you need a new car. In fact, I have recommended them already ;)

Update 11/11/13: Daniel called back tonight and apologized very thoroughly. I appreciated him getting back to me and for the sincere apology that was made. The service technician that was responsible was written up and Toyota refunded the entire amount. Daniel ensured that I came out of this experience with a positive reflection on Toyota. Original: The only reason I gave Toyota of New Bern a 2 instead of a 1 for Customer Service and Friendliness is because of the shuttle drivers who picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. They were great and the negative review is only for the service department. I dropped my car off for service before I was flying out of town so that everything could be done by the time I got back from vacation. My car was shaking at high speeds so I figured my tires need to be rotated and balanced. The service advisor, Trudi, called the next day with her recommendations. Along with the rotate/balance, she said my brake system fluid, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid needed to be changed due to being BLACK! She also recommended I have an oil change since it was overdue on the sticker and quite a few other things. Less than a couple of months ago, Family Tire in Morehead City had done both the transmission and brake fluid flush so I couldn't believe it was already black. Trudi once again stated that they were black and she wasn't trying to imply anything but "you can never trust those small places since they don't know your car as well as Toyota does." I went ahead and approved the transmission since I figured that was very important but told them to hold off on the brakes. When I came back into town, I paid the $400+ for the work and took my car home. I called Family Tire in Morehead to basically ask them what the heck and get my money back for the services and they asked me to bring my car in so they could see the fluid themselves. I brought my car to them and they took me out with it and opened my hood, opened the brake fluid cap and stuck her finger in there to prove it was clear. She also allowed me to take a test strip and test it myself and compare it to the card. It barely even turned light pink! So I called Toyota and spoke with Daniel, the Director of the Service Department I believe, and he asked me to bring the car in to be checked by Tom the foreman and Scott the lead service advisor. He wanted to verify it for himself and then rectify the situation if needed. So I took time out of my busy schedule to bring it up there. The foreman opened my hood did the check and saw that it was completely clear. He also said he wanted to go ahead and check my oils and said that I was good on that and didn't need an oil change-funny, since two weeks ago they had recommended I get one. Scott, who Daniel had told me was in charge wile he wasn't there, told me he couldn't do anything and that Daniel would have to call me back on Monday morning. Also, he couldn't assure me that I would not have to physically go back up there for the refund "if that was the agreement we came to." So now something that was supposed to be taken care of while I was gone has required two trips to different places to verify and time out of my life and still hasn't been resolved. Not only did they recommend services that weren't even needed, but they flat out lied to me by saying the brake fluid was black. I personally don't know much about cars and I feel taken advantage of as a woman by the Toyota Service Department. I feel as if they assumed by my questions and the fact that I had no clue that they could try and get as much money off me as possible. My husband is currently deployed and if he, knowing cars as well as he does, had brought my car in, I don't think they would have gotten away with having me spend money that wasn't needed. Just in my immediate family, we have bought 5 Toyota Corollas since 2007. I'm a loyal Toyota customer and have heavily influenced friends to buy from the Toyota brand. I fully intended to buy another Toyota when mine finally gave out. But this experience with Toyota of New Bern has left me doubting the integrity of the Toyota brand. They will no longer be receiving my business.

In the process of getting my vehicle, I was promised a piece of equipment to be given to me by the dealer. I was told it would take less than a week. 2 weeks later I start calling the dealer about it, and keep getting the "I'll call you back" answer. 3 weeks later, I speak to a manager, and miraculously, the order, which would have taken a few hours/overnight to fulfill, is ready after a month or so of having the vehicle.

Salesperson was very knowledgeable and courteous. He worked with us on establishing a sales price that was agreeable to both parties. We just contacted our insurance company and were informed that Mr. Emmers had not contacted them regarding our new vehicle. He had indicated he would do this on Monday, and today is Tuesday. He also told us to come by on Monday morning for any questions we may have had on the new vehicle; however he was not at work. While we understand that situations arise that may be beyond his control he could have called us at home to let us know when he would be available. We drove all the way from home to the dealership (apprx 20 miles RT) and did not get answers to our questions regarding the vehicle's navigation system.

We went to the New Bern Toyota dealership looking for a used car to replace our Jaguar which we had sold to our son for one dollar. We met Tommy Jones on the lot where he was working. He impressed my wife and I for his friendliness and efficiency. He also impressed us with what he was not: rude, pushy, disdainful, or rushed. We did not see what we had in mind as it had been sold the day before; so we left. I did further research on the internet looking at both used and new vehicles. We decided that we could obtain what we wished by buying a year end model. We called Tommy and set up an appointment. While we were not in a rush, we felt we could continue our investigation and had plenty of time before the new model year. We were again positively impressed with Tommy. He is friendly, knowledgeable of his products, a listener, customer oriented, and unrushed. Needless to say he produced a deal which satisfied both of us. We closed the deal that day. Tommy, then showed us what a pro he was by taking care of the registration and insurance. The piece de resistance was to deliver the car to our house before we had returned home. If all the employes of the dealership are as professional and good as Tommy, the dealership ranks among the best we have ever dealt with in buying over 12 cars. He made the buying experience a pleasure and not a hassle.

We were contacted by email and telephone prior to our visit. We were welcomed on arrival at the dealership. We were interested in purchasing an Avalon and discussed our preferences for specific model, color and options with the salesman. A suitable car was in stock and the salesman demonstrated features of the car and provided a test drive. We were introduced to a member of the service department. The salesman briefly discussed price with us and introduced a member of the business department. We discussed prices on the new car and our trade-in. We agreed on prices for each and documentation for registering the car was completed. We were asked about financing the automobile and assistance with transfer of the insurance but declined both. Our personal gear was transferred rom the old car to the new and we took possession. We were given telephone numbers to call if we had questions. We found the vehicle by driving passed on the highway. When the salesman approached us he was not pushy or manipulative. He offered information and allowed us time to make our decisions without pressure. The vehicle was clean and ready for sale. The salesman, Michael Moore was professional, friendly, and sincere, unlike my previous experiences with car salesmen, We felt he was honest and interested in our opinion about the vehicle. He did not try to convince us of anything rather he was factual and understanding. The financing was well handled but as usual a lengthy process. They took care of all the details efficiently. He was really nice showed me the car i wanted and i was in love with it. i told him my budget and he said he can work something out. The only thing i didnt like about the car was the color. Gray told me since it was the last one and a new one wouldnt be in for a while he can give me a discount. i thought discount, great, ill learn to love it. Then he said id get the military discount so im my head im thinking discounts discounts discounts. I tol dhim my budget in the beginning and when it got to paperwork time he came back about 3 times with an amount that was way higher than my budget. i mean i could still afford it but i was going to be tight. i was so into the car i had my fussy son with me i trusted him. he never really told me the real price id be paying. Weeks later when i finally decided to look at the receipts i noticed im going to be paying soo much for the next couple of years. I analyzed numbers more and i didnt get ripped off per say but with all the discounts and rebates i was told it was going to get i feel like i did. I am now living paycheck to paycheck. I am not blaming anybody but i definately feel like i got cheated. I dont think he was a good salesperson ive been to other dealers trying to trade my car and they were all definately better they tried to find something that worked for me and my budget. They didnt know about my trade in. It was basically the worst mistake ive ever made going to toyota of new bern.

This is the third car that we have purchased from Toyota of New Bern and we have never been disappointed with the process. Our extended family has four other Toyota of New Bern vehicles. We trust Toyota of New Bern. We think that speaks for itself. Thanks to some prior internet research, we knew that we wanted a Prius V. The test drive, negotiating the price of the car, and the value of our trade in, all seemed quite straightforward. The only time that we felt a little rushed was actually taking delivery of the new car. We expected to have some time at home, both to arrange for the payment, and to go through our Camry and make sure that all of our personal items had been removed, before making the exchange. The dealership was very helpful in both cases but older people need a little more time to adjust to these types of changes. Our salesperson, Brett Emmers was very easy to talk to and answered all of our questions. Even days after we had purchased our new Prius, Brett was still willing to help us with some of the computer programing necessary for the telephone system in the new Prius. The price I was quoted for a car I was interested in was listed at a considerable amount Less on the website. When I called to talk with the sales manager about the discrepancy his answer to my question about it was "I don't know." It seemed to me he (the sales manager) wasn't interested in listening to me since I had not actually bought the vehicle, he was talking to people in the background and kept saying "I don't know what to tell you." He did not seem to fazed by me saying he'd lost a customer either. *If* I *had* bought the vehicle and found listed for $2,000 LESS on the site that I was quote (and had agreed to pay) he'd've gotten more than a polite phone call from me. Needless to write, I am not impressed at all.I don't think Toyota is going to be much impressed about this, either.

I came to get an oil change on my 2011 Camry and just wanted to check out the sport model's prices as I had recently rented one for 2 weeks and loved it. I was curious about the price difference and Michael was SWIFT to take me for a test drive. I told him that he didn't need to sell me because I was already a fan, just make the #s right. He was unable to finish the deal due to an appointment, so Tommy took over and was able to make the #s match with what I was thinking. From start to finish it took 3 hours. I would have liked that to have been a bit shorter, but overall I was pleased with the attention and service. I have owned one used Corolla and now 4 new Camry's. I waiting for my free one.

Toyota of New Bern was flawless to work with. I had planned on buying in early May, so I visited the dealership in late March to see what model of Tacoma I wanted. After I decided on which model I wanted I just had to wait. In late April I contacted Gray Beasley and told him what I wanted. He was straight forward and didn't mess around. It just so happened that a model very close to what I wanted was on the lot. I made an appointment with him and went back to the dealership on May 2nd. Upon my arrival I was given a very friendly greeting and had some coffee, then Gray came out to speak with me. He and Bob showed me the truck and Bob took me on a test drive. I knew I wanted the truck after driving about 100 yards. After the test drive and the estimate on my trade in, the process was smooth as could be. There was no haggling as the sales price I was given on the truck was way below what I expected to pay. Bob made the whole process fly by and then handed me over to Jason to finish off the paperwork. Jason was very polite and professional, especially in explaining the extended warranty to me. The extended warranty is an awesome value and lasts a lot longer than I thought it would. I had my truck for 14 years and I have never bought a brand new vehicle. I am very happy that I chose Toyota of New Bern to purchase my first brand new truck. They treated me like I was family and I appreciate that very much. I will definitely recommend Toyota of New Bern to anyone. When it comes time, I will definitely purchase from them again.

The price was fair, I got what I needed for my trade-in and everything went very smoothly. Got the truck that I wanted as well. Overall, it was relatively easy to purchase a new vehicle because things were very straightforward regarding price, trade-in and the small amount of negotiation that was had. If purchasing another Toyota in the future, I would return if in the area and would recommend the dealer to others for their Toyota purchase.

Not long ago, I brought in my Tundra for service and a Road Force balance. On checking out, I was told that 2 of my 4 tires wouldn't balance correctly, despite paying more than $90 for that component of the service. I was displeased, to say the least, and wrote about my experience through DealerRater.That evening, I was contacted by the general manager, Mark Genereux, who claimed that he wanted to ameliorate my feelings. By doing so, he only made things worse as the conversation soon spiraled downhill. I found him to be rude, arrogant, and contentious. The first rule of customer satisfaction is "Don't tick off the customer," so in that, he failed horribly.At issue was the balance job. My Tundra drove worse than before I had brought it in. Genereux claimed that the tech told him, "my tires were old and wore out [sic]." I bounced down the road for a few days considering that possibility.I shopped around for new tires at several places. All of them told me that I don't need new tires, and, in fact, they look quite good. As it turns out, there was only a bit of tread wear, and they were certainly not "wore out." I went back to one of these places for a standard balance and... guess what?... the truck is driving very smoothly now, on tires that will likely last another 25-30K miles.When I combine my recent service experience with earlier horrid experiences with sales at Toyota of New Bern, I cannot recommend them at all. In fact, I think it's the rudest, most incompetent car dealership I've ever encountered. I'll go back to what I had been doing for years: Driving to Kinston to a dealership that respects its customers. How ToNB stays in business is beyond me.

We were very impresed with Paul Stokes with his thoroughness in regard to assisting us in describing the features, differences, and capabilities of the various Corolla models. We feel that we got a fair price for our Camry trade-in and were especially pleased with the final negotiated price of our beautiful new gold Corolla LE. As a result, we cancelled our plans to also go to the Toyota dealership in Greenville, and made the purchase at Toyota of New Bern, NC Thanks to Paul Stokes and the dealership staff. I would like to express my total disgust with this form. I have done it four times and it won't accept. I have no intention of puting my name, etc. in any social media.

My wife had purchased a 2012 Forester from Bruce Smith and it was a great experience in and out the door. So when I decided to replace my truck I called Bruce.(I got his contact information from a birthday card Bruce recently sent my wife.) I asked for an out the door price which he gave and it was very fair. I wanted a specific color which was being delivered to the Greenville store and I asked if it was possible to trade one of New Bern's incoming Foresters for the color I requested.Bruce said he could and that the car would be in Friday.He called on Thursday to let me know the car would be in later that afternoon. I picked it up. The paperwork was done in a timely fashion with no hassle at all.I was given a tour of the facility and Bruce walked me through the Forester's set up. This was much appreciated. All in all both purchases were painless and I will highly recommend Subaru of New Bern and especially Bruce.

I requested additional information about a Toyota Highlander. I requested the additional information because there was only a picture of a steering wheel on the website. Why list the vehicle on the internet if you are not going to post pictures of it? I would have preferred not to speak with anyone, looked at the pictures and moved on. Instead, I had to enter my info and request pictures. I was contacted by Paul Stokes (multiple times) who left me voicemails requesting a call back. I had been busy and was not able to respond for a day or two. He called again today and when I called back he was not available so I left a message for a return call. When he called back I found quite possibly the rudest sales person I have ever encountered. I am a professional sales person and deal in B2B sales. I have to overcome competition in different markets and in different states on a daily basis. We discussed that I was in the process of selling my 2011 Toyota Tundra and that I intended to buy "2" yes "2" vehicles.I advised that I was just in the beginning stages of my car search, and when I began to ask questions about a specific vehicle he countered with questions never answering my own and with an extremely rude attitude. I continued to explain that I was located out of town and was shopping for a vehicle for my wife. I advised that I had found comparable vehicles in VA and charlotte. He proceeded to tell me that it was bad enough that he had to compete with dealerships in neighboring counties but to have to compete across state lines was ridiculous. He followed that by stating that if I wanted to drive to Arkansas to buy a vehicle more power to me. I have to say, you are a horrible excuse for a salesman, and it is time to wake up and step into the 21st century. The internet is real and people use it. We research purchases and want our money to go as far as possible. You may not want to argue over $100 but its my $100 and I will spend it where I want. I do not owe it to you, you my friend have to earn my $100. I find it hard to believe that you sell 17 cars a month with the condescending and pretentious attitude that I got. I can guarantee that I will pay more for a vehicle before I will ever step foot on that dealership. I can only hope that the owners don't not know that these types of interactions are taking place at their establishment, because if they condone it, they deserve reviews like this.

My experience at Toyota of New Bern was the best experience I've ever had at any dealership I've ever purchased a vehicle from. Paul Stokes contacted me once I made an inquiry online and we agreed on a day and time for me to visit your facility. When I arrived, Paul met me at the door and from that moment until the sale was complete, he was professional, yet peronable. I described to him why I was there and what I was looking for and he knew exactly where to start. We test drove a Corolla S model once he demonstrated all the features the vehicle had. Once we got back to the dealership, he realized that I was looking very hard at the Corolla S showroom floor model so we started the process with that vehicle. From the very beginning, I let Paul know that I was also considering the Dodge Dart as well. So once I finished getting the offer from Toyota of New Bern, I was gonna visit the local Dodge dealer and inquire about the Dodge Dart. Although Paul and Erin tried digilenty to talk me out of it and to go ahead and take the Corolla, I promised my wife and son that I would compare the two before making the purchase. I left Toyota of New Bern and drove straight to the Dodge dealership. I did test drive one of the Darts and I quickly made my mind up that the Corolla was superior and the price was better as well. Just as I was leaving the Dodge dealership, Paul called me and I told him that I was on my way back in to sign the paperwork. They were very fast and efficient once I returned. The finance manager was very thorough and expidited the process. To top off the experience, they delivered my new vehicle to my home in Greenville NC and the two gentlemen that delivered it were very friendly too. This dealership is very impressive and I look forward to dealing with them in the future. I will refer my friends to Paul Stokes at Toyota of New Bern.Sincerely,Ross Simmons

This dealership is completely crooked. I was looking to possiblely downsize from my 09 Highlander to a Camry with consideration that I am a family of five. I was told by the salesman that if it did not fit my family I would be able to come back the next morning. I returned and told him this car was not going to work for my family and needed my highlander back, not only did they not return my perfectly good Highlander, they ended up replacing newly purchased Camry with a 2013 Highlander model that had none of the items they promised. They were supposed to honor my 15500 trade in with incentives that made equaled my trade value of 18000. It seems if all they cared about is making money off my trade. I never saw the remaining incentives and when I asked all managers, Marc, Chuck, and Jason were extremely rude and Paul played as if he was an innocence victim. Marc told me I needed to puchase my incentives on my own after the transaction. How these people stay in buisness is unbelievable. I was held on three consecutive days for a min of three to two hours while they made excuse after excuse. They did not honor thier word and if you ask me my opinion...they are nothing but trash. I have been buying Toyota's for 10 years and have NEVER been treated so poorly. Do not buy from them. Take the drive to Massy in Kinston. They give Toyota a bad name. I have notified Toyota corporation and filed a complaint. They told me to rate them "poor" on the survey when it is mailed to me. It will hurt thier awards and bonuses.

My husband and I recently purchased a car there. I was trading on my 2007 rav 4 for a new car that was on perfect condition. We were not on the market because we needed a new car but because we WANTED a new car. We told our salesmen that we just wanted to look and get some pricing. We were there for three hours!!!!! We could not even leave because they had taken the keys to our vehicle when we allowed them to test drive it for pricing purposes. The only offered 10000 on the trade in and only offered the new car at msrp. My husband finally retrieved our keys and we left. The next morning they tried calling both my husband and I multiple times while we were at work. Telling us that they had made adjustments to the car and that they were willing to work with us. However, they were not willing when we returned a few days later to make the purchase. This dealership does not have the goal to sell cars. After we finally threatened to make the drive to another dealer we were able to get the car at a price we liked. But that was not the end of the awful customer service and poor business practice. A part of the deal was to title the car in Indiana which is where I reside. A week after our purchase we had not heard anything about getting the car registered and plated. When we called we were told that they were not going to allow us to title it in Indiana because I was on another car loan with my ex husband at the address I had given. I was not in fact on another car loan with an ex husband rather my baby brother who also lives in the same household. The dealership had gotten things all mixed up and had done the paperwork incorrectly and was just to lazy to fix their own mistakes!!!!! This was hands down the worst sales experience I've ever encountered.

I stopped in this dealership to get a price on a new vehicle. I was upfront with Paul Stokes when I told him I was pricing New Bern and other dealers in the area and intended on buying before the end of the month. I simply asked him for his best price. He refused to give me a price and simply stated: " I sell 16 or 17 cars a month. I don't need customers who nickel and dime me over $100." then tried to hand me his card and walked off.I have no idea if the other salespeople there are that inconsiderate but how New Bern Toyota allows that type of attitude is beyond me. After this experience, I would rather pay more from another dealership than do business with New Bern Toyota and Paul Stokes.

I'm surprised this dealership can stay in business when they apparently really don't want to sell vehicles! They started out by offering me the Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) on a 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, to which I countered with the Edmunds.com True Market Value (TMV). It was clear to them that I had done my homework before my test drive. Instead of the TMV being the beginning of a negotiation, they completely shut me down, communications ended. Three other dealers indicate they might be able to deal at that price but I'm going to have to travel the distance to one of those dealerships to get the deal I want. Ridiculous! With their apparent bad reputation for automotive service, and now not even trying to negotiate new car sales, I would imagine that they would go bankrupt soon - at least I hope so!

This is the worst dealership I ever had to deal with in 30 years. The lying, cheating, unfriendly crooked staff is unreal. The service manager takes the prize. I wouldnt trust this dealership for anything. I took my truck in for an oil change and while it was on the lift they told me that my water pump was leaking and it needed to be changed oh yeah and while the water pump was being changed I might as well change the timing belt. Total bill for repairs would have been over $1200 I told them just change the oil and give me back my keys. Held my keys hostage for 45 minutes while still trying to talk me into the repairs. I take great care of my truck I knew the water pump was not leaking. Its now been 8 months and 8000 miles and still no leak. UNREAL. I would never go back to them. Sooooo, Im traveling for the past month for work and my wife decides to take the truck to the dealership for an oil change about 4 weeks ago not realizing I wasnt ever going to use them again and once again after the oil was changed the service tech comes out and says there is a light on the dash and they ran a diagnostic test and one of the 2 catalytic converters was bad and it needed to be changed. Truck only has 85,000 miles on it. Once again, held my keys hostage while trying to talk my wife into the repairs. No lights were on when my wife brought the truck in. Simple fix I knew the catalytic converter wasnt bad, so I disconnected the battery and let the computer reset. Since then the light has been out for over a month, the truck is running great and nothing is wrong with the catalytic converter. Another $1100 bill they were trying to stick me for. I also know a few people in town who had the same issues as well as other issues with this dealership. THE WORST DEALERSHIP OF ALL TIME AND I WILL TAKE THE TIME TO LET AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN TO STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM TOYOTA OF NEW BERN!!!

This salesman tricked my 70 year old mother into cosigning for a vehicle loan that she absolutely did not want to do. As a result, I (her Power of Attorney) have spent days trying to get her name off the loan and to no avail. This unscrupulous and deceptive behavior will ultimately result in a default on the loan. It sickens me the length some salesmen will go to make a sale. The dealership's stance has been "too late, the deal has already been made." Now I am left to deal with the pending collections agents, bad credit, etc.Buyer Beware!

Before the final transaction was made I was told one thing and when it came to make a payment I was told something totally different. I tried to confirm it 4 times to make sure my payment method was fine and I was told it was but when it came to pay day they said they needed all of the money today. I had no problem paying all the money at one time with a check but don't you think they should have told me that to begin with. Then one of the employees was extremely rude to me after I confronted him that I was told something totally different. Also, it was such a hassle trying to get information because they said they would call me back and never would and I always found myself calling them back and there excuse was they were busy but every time I went there all I saw was people walking around not being busy. This business was also not organized at all. I delt with three different people and all three different people were giving me a different story. I felt like I was getting the runaround and when buying a $30,000 vehicle I feel that should not have happened. I see one of there saying on there website says, "If you are looking for a stree free buying experience then you are in the right place." Well I feel like I encountered too much stress after this.

My mother bought a used Toyota 2 months ago and was told by Tommy Jones that she had a 90 day all inclusive warranty. Her battery went bad and they refuse to honor the "so-called" warrenty. We read her paperwork and there was no warranty; Tommy had lied to my mother and her son when she bought the car. In addition they made my 85 year old mother wait 3 hours and put in an overly expensive battery. Terribe dealership. They are too big for their britches. We will be spreading the word to everyone we know. My sister-in-law called concening the whole incident and management has not retuned the call!!!

Have had my cars serviced (also purchased) since 2001. Am very impressed with all service employees, but especially Daniel E===, he is very personable, interested in your satisfaction with the service of this dealership. Also, my most recent service was handled by another young man, he recalled a phone call we had 2 years ago concerning my vehicle, and quoted my concerns at that time. I was impressed with him, I think his name was Keith, but I'm not sure.
