My husband and I made a two-hour trip to Richmond to look at a pre-owned Lexus. Lou Stewart was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Rather than pressure us into buying the car, he allowed the car to sell itself. Our finance officer, Cynthia Roe, was very efficient, warm, and friendly. In less than two hours, we drove out of the dealership with the car we wanted at the price we wanted.

I was a little leary of online car shopping, found a used vehicle at toyota south on cargurus and decided to send a message from the site. Zach Dunn emailed me back very quickly willing to help and get me the deal I needed. Very professional and tentative to buyers needs. I couldn't make it to the dealership so they delivered the vehicle to me, the driver was very courteous and patient with me. Matt in finance was fast and easy to deal with. For about the last six months performed research on the new restyled Tacoma. For the most part used True car, Auto trader, USAA, CARS.COM and several other sites to gain insight on the specifics, vehicle options and other persons product reviews. I already owned a 2013/Tacoma Excess Cab and was thoroughly happy with the vehicle, only desire and interested in a new purchase to accommodate family and hauling/training of my GSD. I was fortunate to have Dutch Moore as my sales representative. Dutch was both receptive and open-minded regarding my multitude of questions regarding pricing, product options, and availability. He provided me with several options and packages on the Off Road, Sport, Limited models. He made sure I was well-educated on the Tacoma prior to purchase found vehicle in my color choice and desired options. In the end I got the best fitted Toyota product for my family for today and future use. From the sales to service department I feel that Toyota South is setting the standard for other dealerships to attain.

I just bought a used Juke from Toyota South, and Clarence. I do have to say, this was the best experience that I EVER had buying a car!! They were very quick (the fastest I ever bought a car) and very friendly. Not pushy at all. I needed another key made and one of the seats fixed. By having this done, I had to take the car back to them. I picked the car up, when it was promised and it was detailed and FULL of gas. The seat was beyond what I had expected. I, to say the least, was very happy with the overall experience. Clarence was awesome and the dealership itself was a pleasure to deal with. I drove over 85 miles south to look that this car, and ended up buying a different one. It was worth every mile I drove to get the service and the deal that I received. I would definitely buy from them again, and recommend them to anyone!! Great Experience!!! Thank You again!!

Troy Holmes really kept trying to get the price that I was willing to pay for my car. Eventually I ended up getting the price that I was willing to pay. Although they kept saying that they couldn't go down anymore Troy kept going back to them with my offers and didn't give up. That's what a real salesperson is all about. I really appreciated that.

I just finished with a lease of a 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid and leased a 2017 Toyota Sienna XLE. It was a very smooth transition without haggling. Within approximately 90 minutes I drove off with the Sienna. Zach Dunn demonstrated maturity and helpfulness in getting me acclimated to the new vehicle. His pledge to continue to support me in the event I may need future assistance with the car meant a lot. He effected the transfer of the Xirius account from the old car to the new one with ease. I have consistently been pleased with this dealership and have relied on them to properly service my formerly leased car as well as an owned Toyota Camry Hybrid (2007) used as a trade in. Good folks, and Zach has been superb with me. Matt was very efficient and I was pleasantly surprised at the monthly lease rate which was lower than I had anticipated.

Having a good idea of what vehicle we wanted and about how much we wanted to spend, we found Leo's approach to car sales very refreshing. I HATE to shop for cars! After emailing with Zach he immediately made it a personal, not just a business email. He make me feel comfortable so I thought I would go look at the car there. As soon as I walked in the door the experience was so different from any other car dealership I've been to. Not a lot of sales people ready to pounce on me right at the door. One gentlemen opened the door welcomed me, then asked If I was looking for somebody or could he help me. When I told him I was there for Zach he went to get him. I've been to dealerships when I told them I was looking for another sales person I would see the look of disgust.

Buying, no problem. Service until free maintenance ran out, good. Then, check engine light came on in Corolla and I was told something nibbled an evap line. Fixing would be costly replacement of gas tank since line was welded to tank. No, warranty wouldn't cover it. I'm waiting for them to post funny YouTube video of this thing nibbling my line since that's only way they could be so positive that's what happened. I've driven a Toyota vehicle for 14 years. When I get another car it will not be a Toyota. Saddened by this experience. I hope I wasn't treated this way because I'm a women.

Family members and friends had purchased vehicles here and had nothing but great things to say about Toyota South, so it is where I went when interested in 2016 Highlander. Jimmy answered all questions regarding vehicle and David King was helpful with rates, finance info. I initially had some trouble deciding on model, etc. but once I did, they were able to find exactly what I wanted. I appreciated the honesty and transparency throughout the deal and finance process, and the time Jimmy took to make sure I knew all of the features of my new Highlander. I even had a question about a feature once I returned home with the vehicle and John Gibson and Jimmy both were helpful in that situation. This was my second purchase from a Gates dealership, as I previously purchased a Nissan Pathfinder from Gates Nissan. Both were good experiences. I will return to Toyota South when it is time to purchase a vehicle again.

Fear, dread, and loathing. These words would describe my feelings in anticipation of buying a new car.My wife and I truly felt overwhelmed in approaching this experience, something we only do once every ten or so years. Our sales person was a very knowledgeable, accommodating, polite, and tech-savvy Chase Freeman. From the outset, he was both informative and respectful. The various texts and phone calls that were volleyed his way were always answered in a timely and professional manner. We made at least three separate trips to Toyota South to test-drive the 2016 Avalon XLE that we finally drove home on Saturday, April 9th. Each of those occasions was met with the same courteous service and well-informed answers to our questions.Not only was the entire sales process a pleasure, but in the next leg of the journey we were met with perhaps the most knowledgeable, honest and credible finance manager I've encountered anywhere--Cynthia Roe. She assisted us in skillfully navigating the financing, maintenance and extended warranty options. With clearly superior background and training in the world of finance, she made honest recommendations that showed us respect for our own current needs and future plans. Sales manager David King also assisted behind the scenes in working out a tremendous value for our needs, one that we anticipate much enjoyment with in months, and yes, years to come! We still have our 2001 Toyota Sienna, still going strong at 229,000 miles. However, when the time comes to part with it, we will be coming back to Toyota South. Long-term customer satisfaction, personal service and solid people selling a superior product: what more could you possibly hope to have?

Prius, Camry, Corolla, new, preowned. My review is a little mixed. I knew exactly what I wanted and the incentives I wanted to use. Unfortunately, the incentives listed for this new 2015 Prius were not for the C, but for the regular Prius. This was a website issue. I did, however, walk away pleased with the price advertised, the car I came in to buy and a decent interest rate. I love the car and although I wasn't planning on buying a car for another 2 to 3 years, I couldn't be happier with it.

We have driven Toyotas for over 25 years. We have bought 4 Toyota cars..., 1 Camry, 1 Avalon and 2 Hybrid Camrys. Three of these four vehicles were purchased at Toyota South. So when we decided to purchase another new car, we automatically were thinking of purchasing a Toyota. We did not know Zach Dunn. We met him because he responded quickly to our on line inquiry about hybrid Toyotas. When we went to look at new cars in person we naturally asked for Zach. He was every bit as knowledgeable and pleasant in person as he had been on line. We have had all kinds of experiences over the years when going to look for a new car. This was one of the most cordial, pleasant, courteous experiences we have had. Zach not only was knowledgeable about the different models and features but he was also "low key" and patient. Not at any time did we feel pressured to make a purchase. We went back several times to look. And from the time we made our decision regarding model, color and the options we wanted to yesterday when we picked up the car Zach remained the same courteous, friendly Toyota South staff member that he had been on line. Our car was actually delivered to the dealership round the first of February. But, because of snow and inclement weather, we postponed getting the car several times. Zach was extremely patient and understanding in our wanting to delay picking up the car. We appreciated this very much. We simply cannot say enough positive things about Zach!

They were not pushy with pushing a sell and wanted to make sure that I got a car that was within my budget and that would fit my needs. Even though I would rather of not had my original car troubles, I was able to get what I feel is an excellent car and they made the experience as good as it could have been. I have bought 4 cars through Toyota South and the last 2 from Derrick Amburgey. He is great to deal with and very helpful and knowledgeable. He is by far the most honest car salesman I have ever dealt with, as far as to tell you if a vehicle that you are interested in has mechanical issues! Steve Gates (owner of the lot) has been absolutely unbelievable pulling strings he didn't have to. And Cynthia Rowe is a very calming and professional finicial manager. I know first hand that each of the 3 people whom I've mentioned genuinely cares for their customers and definitely goes above and beyond needed tasks to bring the most possible customer service. They have always negotiated to great prices on their vehicles, they have offered by far the best rates. I had a transmission go out of a used vehicle I bought there 6 months after purchase with no warranty, and they paid half of the rebuild bill. On my final visit, I came into their lot horribly upside down with a terrible interest rate from Manns chrysler. They erased an extreme amount of interest and got us into a much nicer vehicle with a good rate. After negotiations on monthly payment amounts, we finalized the deal. Cynthia Rowe called the following day to let me know she voluntarily contacted the bank and still got everything us even better rate and much cheaper monthly payment. Steve Gates has voluntarily helped me out monetarily one as a young teen, and yet again. These kind of things are simply unheard of, and they've earned my business forever!!!

Stay away from this dealership. They will do anything they can to screw you. I traded my car in for a new rav4. When they sold the car I traded in they removed items from the car and told the guy that bought it that I had removed them. Which I didn't. They also flat out lied to the guy about the cars ability and told him I had given them that info. I guess they didn't expect us to communicate. Also on the new car they entirely screwed me over on taxes. I advise to stay away. I expect bad experiences with dealerships but this one is really shady.

All three sales workers were friendly, informative, and not pushy. They explained the financing, warranties, and the operation of the car thoroughly. They left us alone while we discussed everything. They worked with us some on the price. It was a comfortable experience. They will pick the car up in Winchester to do service and oil changes during the warranty period, and leave us a vehicle to borrow.

As I was fresh out of graduate school and completely unfamiliar with the details of an automobile leasing agreement (other than my personal research)-- I naturally chose Toyota for the general practicality and quality of product. As I mentioned, I was slightly unfamiliar with the leasing process-- that is until I paid a visit to Toyota South and met Chase Freeman. Off the bat, he was friendly, informative, practical and did not maintain the typical grandiose, keeper of all knowledge car salesman personality-- that most attain. After narrowing my selection down to the model that I wanted, Chase even helped find my preferred color-- which I ended up with the barcelona red Corolla S Plus. After that, it was down to business for the tough part-- negotiating trade-in value and payment price (but this is typical business practice). After nearly an hour of negotiating both trade-in value and payment price, both Toyota and myself agreed upon a very good deal. Needless to say, Toyota treated me very well as a first time car buyer / lessee. I truly appreciated the more-than fair trade-in value that I was given, as well as the professionalism of everyone involved. Toyota South has their ducks in a row and they are without a doubt, a great place to do business with! I love my new car!

This time we came to Toyota South because they had the Camry in stock that we wanted and I had been unsatisfied with the way I was treated in Lexington. From the first phone call, Chase Freeman was exactly what you want in a car salesman. Helpful, polite, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on customer service. The facility is great. Very comfortable and welcoming. Toyota South matched the offer from Lexington but went way farther with customer service. We used the Costco car purchase method to get our new Camry Hybrid, which seems to be the easiest way to get a really good deal. There is no negotiation, and the prices are stated up front, so there's no worry about haggling or worrying if we should have been tougher in negotiating, as happened when we bought cars in the past. Zach was knowledgeable and patient - he even showed us a feature on our 2011 Prius that we did not know about! Also, in the financing phase of the deal, there wasn't the usual pressure to buy a lot of extras, like at some other dealers. Such options were presented, briefly, but that's because they're required to do it. We were thrilled to get the deal settled in such a short time!

I was suppose to get a satelite radio with hands free phone, but the sales person told me all the radio's came with satelite ready , but this was not true, and I had to pay an additional 125.00 to have it put in.Overall the sales person was good.

A normally painful process was absolutely made easy by Tom Appleton (Sales and Leasing) and Matt Willis (Finance). We have bought several new cars in the past but were in the market for a used vehicle just to go back and forth to the office. Not only did I find the one I wanted but Tom worked with me to get an acceptable deal and Matt worked out Financing to an acceptable level. I bought the car AS IS but found a few minor things that needed attention. I asked if they could be taken care of and even though I purchased the car AS IS they were quick to say "No Problem". I have an appointment Thursday for the few repairs needed. That is Excellent Customer Service. When we are in the market for another Vehicle "Toyota South" will be our Dealership of Choice. Where do I start. I recently purchased a new 2014.5 Toyota Camry back in May. My wife and I decided that we wanted a suv, so we thought to trade for a new Toyota Rav-4. With my experience of trying to deal with the dealership, needless to say, I was more than disappointed. The sticker price was of the Camry SE was $25,700, with all options. As of right now, the Camry has 1600 miles. I came in to trade to a Toyota Rav-4, with the sticker price being approximately $27,700. They offered us 15,500 for our Camry. The clean retail on our Camry is $22,600. I guess they take us as being less intelligent and thinking that we would make such a trade. In doing the math, all they were doing was paying our car off and us buying the Rav-4 outright. Now, what kind of sense does that make and what of kind of dealership and managers conduct their business. If you want to trade and deal with Toyota South of Richmond, Kentucky, and want to just give your vehicle away, Toyota South is the place is to go. I have had very bad experience with 2 of the large dealerships in the area were I was made to feel less than accepted because of my situation. At Toyota South, they understood and were able to help me, keeping a friendly and positive atmosphere. I was able to purchases a great car at a price and monthly payment that were well within my budget. John Gibson is very knowledgeable and his understanding of the car buying process streamlined it, and in no time I had my new car. He took the stereotype out of car salesmen and has made a new customer for life.

John responded to my email within 5 minutes of my first request. I called him, he is very professional while at the same time down to earth. No pressure, he answered all my questions, took fresh pictures and texted them along with a link to the auto check for the specific vehicle I was looking at. We drove 350 miles from Missouri to test drive the truck and were greeted by a friendly staff. This was a very pleasant visit after a long drive. Great job, John!

Had reservations about buying the new Camry Hybrid. But John Gibson answered all our concerns vs the completion out there and why the Camry Hybrid was the best choice. John made our overall experience a pleasant one. He worked with me to achieve the right deal, pricing and terms for us to buy our dream car. Waiting time was minimal. There was no pressure put upon us to buy and he made us feel very comfortable. After we purchased the vehicle, we were really made to feel like one of the Toyota family. There was genuine concern for us.I would highly recommend to my friends to buy from this dealership as we will in the future.

Our entire experience with Toyota South was very easy and non-stressful. John Gibson was very helpful, answering all of our questions via email, without being pushy. He was very flexible to our work schedules, and even though they did not have the particular car we were looking for on the lot, he had one there for us in two days. I felt that the price we agreed on was very fair and because John had been in contact with us so much over email and phone, we only had to spend about 90 minutes on the lot to finalize the deal and sign the paperwork. He even helped us out with our trade in (which he didn't know about until we drove onto the lot). I would definitely recommend this dealership and suggest that anyone in the market for a Toyota vehicle give John Gibson a call.

This was our 2nd pleasant experience with a Gates auto lot (we traded our Nissan Pathfinder for our new Toyota Highlander). John and Jimmy were both friendly, low pressure salesmen. They were also very knowledgeable about the vehicle we purchased and took the time to answer all of our questions and show us all of the features of our new SUV. We would definitely recommend Toyota South and John and Jimmy to our friends and family members looking to buy a Toyota or Scion.

From the first time I spoke to John Gibson of Toyota South on the Phone, I knew I was going to enjoy working with him! He is without a doubt the best car salesman I have ever worked with! He was knowledgeable about his products, friendly, courteous, conscientious, and he made buying a used car fun! I was able to get a VERY good deal through him. The rest of the sales staff and Manager types we met were also super courteous and the Financial Person was great as well... He helped us get a super low interest rate and great warranty on the vehicle. I love my "New to Me" Lexus RX 350. It was everything he said it was on the phone. I drove to Richmond/ 30 minutes... from my home to the dealership which was actually easier than driving across town in Lexington, being that it was all highway driving. Thank you John!!! I will be telling all my friends to give you a call when they are in the market for a car! Great Job Toyota South!

We did almost everything online except the test drive and payment, which was a great help to me. John Gibson, the internet salesman, was 100% upfront in all our interactions. After buying the car I got to talk to Steve Gates, the dealership owner. He is an amazingly down to earth nice guy. A nice touch was when I pulled off the lot, the car had a full tank of gas.

John Gibson was very friendly and had a solid working knowledge of the vehicle we were interested in. We purchased a 2012 Tacoma, which was in great shape and very clean. We didn't feel pressured on the sale, and felt that we came out with a fair price on a very good vehicle.

Jimmy is an excellent salesman!!!! I would refer anyone to him. Great buying experience for me. The last car I bought I sat at the dealership for over 5 hours before the deal was complete. Jimmy is very patient, not pushy, and goes above and beyond to make sure you the customer is leaving happy.

This company has went above&beyond the call of duty. Deirk has been the best to work with after purchased and I live 2hrs away and could have purchased my vehicle from a dealer that is 15 minutes from my home. I started my purchase via Internet search and found that Toyota South made the extra step to earn my business. I decided to drive two hours to purchase the same car I test drove 15 minutes from my house. Better price better service!!! It's all about customer satisfaction at Toyota south. I would recommend them to anyone looking to purchase new or used!

Jimmy was extremely helpful from his initial vehicle recommendations on through till the final sale. He was very easy to negotiate with on pricing and he and the entire Toyota South team worked very hard to get us a great interest rate. Im not sure if Ive worked with a more patient salesperson. Jimmy remained very calm and professional as we drove what seemed to be every car on the lot (Twice) before finally deciding on the Prius V. He made buying a car much less stressful and made sure we were satisfied with our Prius V even after the purchase.

Let me start off by saying that the sales crew at this dealership are very friendly and professional and made me feel very comfortable. Kevin explained every step in the process of buying a new car and made sure that i was aware of all the figures that went into my bottom line price. I had previously done research and found out that the trade-in value of my trailblazer was approx. 5800-6000, the dealership could only offer me at best 3500. When I questioned this figure I was told by sales mgmt. that it was all that my trade would bring at natl. auction. Later that day I went to a neighboring dealership where I got my trade-in value. Regretfully I couldn't do business with Kevin and the guys at South but otherwise have nothing but praises on the way I was treated there.

I really like the friendliness and willingnees to work with me on the purchase of my car from the staff of Toyota South. They helped me get the deal I was looking for without a lot of hassle. At all time during the transaction every step was explained clearly, options to completing the sale were pointed out, and I never felt like being taken advantage of. I went into the dealer with a target price in mind and they worked with me to get to that price. I am very satisifed with my purchase, my new Prius, and the whole experience in general!

My overall experience with this company was excellent. They know what they are doing when it comes to pleasing customers. They have positive attitude as well as extra friendly. I have never been to a more experienced car dealership where I have been so satisfied. The service was the fastest ever with the pricing and financial needs. Mr. Gates and his son have created a welcoming environment at Toyota South. The staff is extremely freindly, ensuring all customers are comfortable and placed at ease. John Rakestraw is an outstanding sales representative. Rather than pushing a product, he listens to the customer, offering options and focusing on getting the correct vehicle for the client. John was very patient and understanding, when other salespeople may have been at wits end. The vehicle he knew would meet my needs was not on site, but he coordinated with Dan, the sales manager, and found the exact vehicle to fit my requirements. I was given a very fair value for the vehicle I was trading - and the price of the new one was in my budget.Steve and his father both keep their finger on the pulse of activities at this site. They are avaiable to customers, engage them in conversation and ensures each persons expereince is a good one. This is very refreshing and professional. If you are in the market for a new or used Toyota, give Toyota South a visit, you will be pleased.

WOW! This is the best description I can give the entire staff at Toyota South. I can honestly say without a doubt, I have NEVER been treated better than I have at Toyota South. The guys go out of their way to accomodate you and your schedule when you need your vehicle serviced!! They have always been courteous, very friendly, honest and they really listen to you when you talk. When I have my vehicle serviced, they pick up my car, leave me with a new loaner, bring mine back serviced and looking better than when they took it. They even sent the most beautiful flowers to my wife's mothersfuneral a few weeks ago! My wife and I both have the same thoughts, we have been treated so good, we are customers for LIFE! Thank you Toyota South!!!!

My wife and I were interested in (2) used cars in this dealer's inventory. We were looking to trade our current vehicle as part of the purchase. When my wife stopped by the dealership to test drive the cars, the salesperson had their "appraiser" inspect our vehicle. The salesperson told my wife that the appraiser had noted that our vehicle had "extensive hail damage" due to the presence of a total of (2) small shopping cart/car door dings on either side of the car. They agreed that there was no damage to either the hood or roof of the vehicle. Funny how that would work with hail, or how only (2) small marks would qualify as xtensive damage.The salesperson also proceeded to tell my wife that the vehicles we were interested in were to be sent to auction within the next two days in an effort to bully her into a commitment on the spot. It is interesting to note that nearly a month and a half has now passed since that time and both cars remain on their lot. Truly unprofessional behavior verging on the unethical would not recommend.

We were able to negotiate a very fair price with this dealership (better by $100 or more than any other dealership in the area)and acquire a 2011 Avalon Limited with the features we wanted. The entire process was very efficient and took us no more than 2-3 hours including the financing. We were also offered special treatment of the paint and upholstery at dealer cost and full tank of gas. Mr. Lou Stewart was our sales respresentative and he made the entire process work very efficiently. This is our third Toyota and our first new one --- this dealership was not only local, fair and efficient but very friendly, as well.
