Very sad, took my wife's car in for an oil change that i bought from VanDevere on Odom was told I had to bring it in for the 6 month oil change or my lifetime warranty was no good , my wife works at home so we are lucky to put 2,000 miles a year on our cars, after schedule change we had to go to the vanDevere on Market st. Well first my wife told them the radiator fan was making noise and please look at it, we were told that they don't have anybody there after 4 pm that can do that only oil changers, then my wife asked them to save her oil from the oil change because the vandevere on odom said they can put it it a container for her to take because there were so few miles on her car, we told the guy that and he said he was leaving but would tell service. We waiting 2 hours in their waiting area and it is a nice waiting area with coffee and snacks, problem is we saw 9 people go in and out of the doors where we were and no one person smiled or said hello. The lady came out and said they can't save our oil and we should not have been told we can have it back.After the person pulled my wife's car out we watched him back it in the space outside and thought ok good deal we are done, we go outside and see 2 white marks on the front bumper, my wife went back in and got the lady that we just payed $140.00 - $101.00 oil change and $39.00 for engine filters, my wife said you got to be kidding me your guy hit a white car and said nothing, then she stated I am very unhappy and the lady from VanDevere said I understand you are unhappy I am very upset also, I am her after hours and need to pickup my nephew with a disability, and told us she would have the service manger call us because there was nothing she could do everybody was gone, and she said we could bring back to get it fixed. My wife said this is ridiculous we live 2 hours away. She said she would tell Manager 1st thing in morning, next day I waited until 3pm and asked my wife if anybody called, she said no I called and they said the Manager was in meeting and would relay my message to call my wife.No call and next day, I called back and left voice message with Manager and no call, my wife called back 3 hours later and got the lady that said she would tell her Manager to call 1st thing, and she was busted out and after my wife got the Manager she found out the lady did not tell him. The Manager said he was very upset with the service we got and the next time we are in he wants to sit down with my wife and talk to her.VERY BAD PLACE-BAD SERVICE, I don't understand how they have gotten that big of a dealership with this kind of treatment to people. GM ask for a report of the dealership and I am going to let them know what kind of dealership is selling their cars.

I expected to be pressured by a pushy salesperson - Eric was the total opposite. He was friendly, accommodating and probably the most enthusiastic salesperson I have ever met! I picked up my new car on a Thursday (the next day was my birthday). Eric surprised me with a bouquet of balloons tied to my new car to help celebrate my birthday. Balloons were even in the trunk- what a guy!The entire process was easy, and Eric made my experience at VanDevere very enjoyable. I purchased a used VW Routan from VanDevere almost 2 years ago that came with a "warranty forever". Part of the warranty agreement is that all scheduled maintanence be completed according to the owners manual. I have done that, however some of the maintanence was completed by the VW dealership per VanDevere's suggestion because there was a remaining factory warranty. My fuel pump went out last week which is covered by the warranty however, Warranty Forever will not honor the claim because VanDevere did not complete all schedule maintanence. When I spoke with service at VanDevere they said "their hands are tied" - they are not standing behind their own warranty company. I was told to "take it up with the warranty company". I am refusing to pay the $750.00+ to replace my fuel pump when it is clearly covered by the warranty and I provided proof of all scheduled maintanence by certified mechanics.

August 24, 2013I have been shopping for a new minivan for the past few weeks, and found a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan for sale at Vandevere Buick at 300 W. Market St. in Akron, OH that I was very interested in purchasing. I contacted the dealership via their website around 9am on Thursday, 8/22, and had a chat session with Kristi Stevens, a Customer Care agent at Vandevere. I told her specifically which vehicle I wanted to see, and she informed me that it was available and she would put me on the "VIP" list to see it in person. I told her I would be traveling over an hour to come see the vehicle, and she assured me it would be there when I arrived. I called the dealership that same day around 5:30pm, before I left my home to drive to Akron, to verify it had not been sold during the day. Once again, Kristi reassured me that it was there waiting for me, and I would be welcomed as a "VIP" when I arrived. I hired a babysitter to watch my 3 small children, and drove from Hermitage, PA to Akron, OH with a blank check in hand to visit the Vandevere Group and see what I expected to be my new car. When my wife and I arrived, we spoke w/ Randy Browne and told him why we were there. He checked with one of his associates, Zachary Lawrence, and Zachary told Randy and us that the car was "missing". They have had other inquiries, and have not been able to locate it for 2-3 days. I was shocked that I could call twice on the same day I am coming to see a vehicle, have the dealership put me on their "VIP" list, and that whole time nobody bothered to check if the vehicle was actually there. I expressed my frustration to Randy for having wasted over an hour of my time driving there, the money for gas, and the money for a babysitter, only to have them tell me they don't know where the car I wanted to see is. He made no concessions for the inconvenience. He even went as far as trying to strong-arm me into making a downpayment on the vehicle, telling me that when they did find it, it couldn't be held for me to come back and see if I didn't make a downpayment. I was disgusted that after the experience I had, he would try to talk me into putting money down on a vehicle he didn't even know if they had!!!If this is how Buick allows their dealers to treat potential customers, I want no part of ever purchasing a vehicle from any of your dealers. Furthermore, I am expecting compensation for the gas and babysitting money I wasted due to Vandevere's deceptive sales practices and/or incompetence. I spent approximately $20 on gas and another $20 for the babysitter. It is very difficult for my wife and I, both working full-time and having 3 children, to get out for a night and look at cars. As I stated earlier, I had a check in hand and ready to buy. All I expected the dealership to do was take 5 minutes to ensure the vehicle they were advertising online, and told me by phone they had in stock, was still there before I arrived!!! Vandevere has found a new meaning for "VIP", as they made me feel more like a Very Inconvenienced Patsy instead of a Very Important Person.

I appreciate the no-nonsense, no pressure, kind and considerate approach. Working with Steve was like working with a long time friend, not a person so focused on sales that they miss the person in front of them. He focused on both me as a person as well as working with a commitment to do everything he could to do to help me find the right vehicle I needed at the right price.As an example of this, I stopped by briefly on the day prior to my purchase and began the process of looking. Steve and I began working together and I let him know that I would need to be at work by a certain time. The next day I came back to continue the process. Unknown to him I had the day off. At one point he mentioned that he wanted to make sure everything was taken care of so that I could get to work on time, specifically mentioning the time that I would normally need to be at work. I was amazed that he remembered. A small thing like that helped me to feel very much listened to and valued as a customer.Initially Steve recommended an excellent car for me, but it didn't fit my price range. I was not met with pressure when I said that I wanted to move on but a willingness to hear what I had to say and find what would work. We found just the right car and I am VERY satisfied with my purchase. Will I return to VanDevere for service and for my next car (in hopefully a long time from now! ) ? In a heartbeat!Will I recommend personally Steve as a GREAT person to work with? It's less than 12 hours since we completed the sale on my Altima ... and I already have to someone who will be looking in the near future!Not only was Steve's service spectacular, but the entire staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I had a great experience at VanDevere. Randy Browne was great and was able to get me the car I wanted for the price I was able to pay. I had been driving the same car for 12 years and had never bought a new car on my own before. He made the process easy to understand and painless. I've only had my car for about two weeks so far but Randy and the dealership have already gone above and beyond my expectations. They continue to stay in touch and I know that I don't need to hesitate if I need anything or if I have any questions. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and the way I was treated.

I worked with Tom Fiala, super nice guy. I have bought many cars over the years from probably 6 or 8 dealerships and i have to say, this was the best experience so far. The sales process was direct and to the point. They priced their cars in such a way that you don't need to haggle like crazy, because the price they're asking is already fair. I did my homework on the internet to see what the best prices were for the vehicle I wanted, and theirs was the best price. But even beyond the asking price of the car, there were many other things I liked about the process. For one, the Trade In Value they offered is straight forward. You can even do it yourself before you go in. They used the AutoTrader.com tool to establish your trade value. AutoTrader.com's trade estimator said my trade was worth $7997, and that's exactly what they gave me. Fair, and straightforward. Conversely, we also went down the street to another dealership, and they only offered us $6000 for the same trade. The other company's salesman seemed to indicate 'well, maybe we can do better'....but why bother! At Vandevere, you get the fair and best price on the car up front, and the fair and best trade value up front. Why kill yourself with all the haggling elsewhere?On the car we ended up buying, Tom indicated that it was a fresh trade and it hadn't had its mechanical inspection yet by the service department. So, if they found anything, they may need the car and extra day or two to remedy any items they weren't happy with. So, the next day when I called, Tom told me that they felt the brakes were under tolerance, so they were installing new rotors and pads at no cost to me. Did you hear that? AFTER we already closed on the deal, they put on new rotors and pads at their expense, because it was the right thing to do for the customer. Who else does that? When we closed on the deal, we had indicated there were a few items we would like fixed before deliver. Minor items, a loose piece of trim, broken knob...stuff like that. They didn't give us any issue, and fixed everything right the first time, and it was right when we picked up the car.The finance department was very helpful. I had actually already arranged financing in advance and had a blank check in my hand from my bank. The terms of the deal I struck with my bank, would have required me to put about $2000 down on the car. I could have done that, but didn't really want to if i could help it. The finance manager asked if he might see if he could get a better deal with one of his banks. Within 10-15 minutes he can back with 2 offers from their banks, better than the one from my bank. I ended up saving half a point on interest, and didn't have to put any money down. That half a percent will certainly add up over the years, and I'm glad I let him check before just using what I brought.At the end of the deal, everyone here is up front and to the point. No messing around. I will buy here again.

The customer service was absolutely excellent! Having called prior to, once we arrived at the dealership, Randy helped us immediately by finding another sales associate, Patty, to help us because he was already with another customer. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly by answering EVERY question we had and making sure we understood every detail about the lease and warranties for my amazing, new Kia! I needed a new (in my case used) car. My old one was clearly starting its path down the road of deterioration. I called a few dealers and this was the first that wasn't cramming numbers and crap down my throat. They didn't push me out of my comfort zone and helped me get into the car I wanted, not the one they did. I would go back in a second and I will be for the free car washes. Randy was personable and took care of everything. I was impressed and happy to have met him. I feel comfortable that I can contact him anytime in the future and he will do all he can to help. I purchased a vehicle from the Auto Outlet in December 2010, they were friendly and had great customer service. I had heard a problem in the front of the vehicle in December and took it to the Market Street Customer Service Center to have them look at it. I researched online and saw there had been some problems with the ball joints which what I asked them about. They stated they found no problem at that time. Now they state the left ball joint has gone bad and they want me to pay $649 to fix it. I have not had the car for a year and they want me to pay that, when I stated There was a problem with it months ago. I know my vehicle was not brand new,but I did not except to have to put that much money into this vehicle this soon. I have recommended my family and friends to vandevere, but I will not recommend vandevere anymore. If I could I will give the vehicle back and take the loss. I am very disappointed in the treatment I received.

From the time I called till I drove away in my new Optima Steve Sabitsch took great care of me. Steve listened to what I was looking for and found the vehicle in my price range. I never felt pressured! Steve then took me to the service center and introduced me to Lisa Kerlee. Steve and Lisa covered the warranty and the advantages of seviceing my car at Vandevere. Then Steve took me to Jim Zurzolo who went over the details of my financeing. Steve had my car cleaned and filled with gas when I was ready to leave. He answered my last few questions and went over the location and operation of the lights, shifter, steering wheel, mirrors and sound system so I would have a safe and comfortable drive home. VanDevere seems to be a good dealership. The owners seem to be reputable people. But if you want to be treated right, ask for Dave Canavan is the ONLY REASON we go to VanDevere. It is hard to find salespeople who you can trust but Dave is not a just a salesperson....he is interested in truly helping people;in changing his little corner of the business as he likes to put it. Dave will guide you will listen to your needs and concerns and guide you through the process to buy a car. In the end, I walked away feeling like all my concerns were addressed and I had made a wise buying decision. No regrets!

vandevere is a great dealership. randy was very nice. he was honest and genuine he got me a great car at a great price. they give you free carwashes for life and they got me in and out in a brand new car in just a few hours. it could not have been easier.

Randy Browne provided a professional, courteous and pleasant buying experience. This may not seem special or out of the ordinary for the VanDevere sales team...but, this is not my typical experience with auto dealers. Randy did not over-promise or under-dealer he provided guidance and wisdom and allowed us to purchases not only the vehicle we needed but the vehicle we wanted. I had been looking for a vehical for my wife. She does not like to car shop. I found a vehical on your web site. I stopped in at your Arlington Ave Lot. I talked with Nelson. One topic of interest was the life time power train warrenty. I went home and discussed with my wife. She and I returned. My wife did not like the vehicals I had selected. Nelson showed her a 2005 Ford Explorer Eddie Baurer that she really liked. She test drove a couple of cars and decided on the Explorer. We sat down and did the necessary paper work. I believe that it was Chris that filled in to finish all of the paper work. We had not planned on buying a car that night but things went pleasently and quickley. We actually had a nice time.Frank H. I appreciated the great length they went to help me with the credit process, since i had a recent bankrupcty to deal with. Overall, my experience at VanDevere was very good. All of the associates of VanDevere were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to make me feel as comfortable as possible while I waited during my visit at the dealership. I came prepared to the dealership by utilizing the VanDevere website. After showing the salesman my desired vehicle purchase, the salesman did not pressure me to choose another vehicle but provided the additional information I needed about my desired purchase in order to help me finalize my decision. VanDevere is the only dealership that I have experienced a true customer satisfaction atmosphere.

Buyer Beware! They don't sell the cleanest used vehicles, but price them comparably to extremely clean cars. I found several problems with the vehicle I purchased immediately after driving off the lot. They had no interest in repairing any of the $500.00 worth of issues. This would be expected from a private seller, but not from a "reputable" dealership. Just be careful!
