I was ready to give up on Vic Canever because our last used car, purchased from them was needing repairs continually! I didn't think we were getting a fair deal initially on our trade-in, so we discontinued our transaction. We went back and Mike Prieur went out of his way by offering us a fair trade-in price and helping us get into a lease on a 2016 Cruze. I brought my vehicle for an oil change. Even though I had a maintenance plan where the oil changes are free, the paperwork I first received had a charge. The service associate quickly fixed the bill and I was on my way. I had requested that my vehicle receive the complimentary wash, but it was not done. I told the associate who immediately, without hesitation, took the vehicle through the car wash. I am impressed at the immediate response and fixes I received, but they should not have happened in the first place. Perhaps some fault is mine because I should have mentioned that my oil change and tire rotation were under a maintenance agreement. Anyway, I was on my way quickly and am satisfied with the service. The waiting area was clean and offered a good choice of beverages and freshly popped popcorn.

Lou is a phenomenal salesperson who is very knowledgable, friendly and projects a very positive image for your dealership. Lou makes you feel comfortable and enhances your desire to purchase. I brought my truck in to the service department because of a grinding noise coming from my driver side tire. With in minutes they had in the back and started to diagnose the issue. Turned out to be the hub. Was offered a free loaner for a few hours and with in 4 hours my truck was fixed and ready to go! Excellent service from the top to the bottom! I highly recommend this dealership for all your vehicles needs!

I find all of the Vic Canever employees to be exceptionally helpful and friendly. I had a check engine light on my dash last week, so I took my car in for service. Had to leave the car, received a rental car, and the repair was performed in a timely, painless manner. Chris, in service, helped me. He was very patient and professional, and answered my questions not only pertaining to the repair, but in regards to body work and a few other fixes that I may need. Every time I visit this dealership I am impressed. They are patient and answer all my questions, and go out of their way to help me with any concerns that I have. Whether I am in for service or browsing the showroom, this is an awesome dealership and I always recommend them to my family and friends. Cannot wait to buy another Volt from them next year!

From my initial email... to the drive out of the parking lot with my new truck...I had a great experience. Jamie Smith, handling the online leads, contacted me immediately after my send. When I walked in the door at my appointment time she was there to great me. She handed me of to a Joe or Joel I believe it was, as my sales person, however about 10 minutes I was there, Tony Crimi walked out of his office an old buddy of mine from a past job. I hadn't seen him in 15 years, and I didn't know he worked there. After seeing us catch up, actually Joe(l) my assigned sales person handed me over to Tony. Not something you see everyday when dealing with commissioned sales. Tony finished up the sale brilliantly, handled all the paperwork, introduced me to my new vehicle, and even put the plate on the truck. I would definitely buy/lease another car from VC, Tony, and team again!

Took my car in to get Trans work done. When i got it back It started making GRINDING noises that wasn't there before. Took it back and wanted to know what it was, they called and made up a story about how it was sloshing noise from the Trans fluid. Went to go drive it with Steve Clement the "service manger", heard the grinding noise right out of the parking lot. 6 weeks later we go in there to get an update because we got no phone call. Was told that the Trans technician was backed up so we waited patiently. We had been told it was done for 4 weeks. Got told by the writer that they drained some Trans fluid out. They couldn't find my keys or the repair order. Once they found the keys we test drove it and noise was gone, got told to talk to Steve Clement "the service manger". He didn't know what was going on, told us it was nothing that they did and there's nothing they could do it just makes that noise when you accelerate harder. Then told us it wasn't on them to call us when the car was ready. Told us to have a nice day and walked away. We have a gm car and a gm truck that I need work done on, but why would we go back. Found out Steve Clement is not the manager but an assistant.

Larry Lewis is awesome!!! My mother was in and wanted a new car, hers had been in an accident and it was a total loss. I couldn't be back in town until this Friday so she would of been left for over a week with nothing to drive... My father has Alzheimers, she is the one that takes care of everything and without a car she would not of had a way to get out if there was an emergency. Larry had your F and I manager call me and get all the paper work done over the phone. He even went and picked up my 84 year old mother at her home, so she could have her car a few days earlier!!!!!!!! That service is above and beyond what anyone could of been asked for! You cannot ask for better service then that! Thank you so much for having such a wonderful caring person on your staff! I have a 2009 chevy avalanche and bought a 6 yr. extended $0 deductible 100,000 mile warranty. on jan. 2nd check engine light came on. I immediately took to the dealership, i was told it was a cold start fault. The only way to diagnose the problem, i would have to leave the vehicle overnight. I told them i worked 3rd shift and would need a vehicle. I was told no vehicle was currently available until jan. 8th. so i made an appointment. I showed up on the day of the appointment and was told no vehicle was available and patrick said he would see what he could do. while i was waiting ( over a 1/2 hr.) a loner vehicle came back, and i was given that vehicle. Patrick wrote up the loaner vehicle on the paper for 2 days, so i brought it back on sat. jan 10th. However,Patrick said my vehicle was not done and to correct the problem i needed a fuel injection cleaning. also he said i had a bad battery cell, and i was probably buying gas that was rated 83 or 85 octane that added to the problem.(even though michigan does not sell gas less than 87 octane, the difference in gas is the detergents added) To correct everything,the total would be about $330.I asked what the price would be for just the fuel induction cleaning and was told it would be $180. so i told him to do it. because i had to have the vehicle.I ended up keeping the loaner vehicle till monday the 12th. It took 4 trips to the dealer but i finally got my vehicle back. At work i was talking to my fellow employees about my truck and what needed to be done to correct it. Several people said that it seemed like the cleaning was quite expensive. So ii went back and checked my invoice and saw i was charged $48.63 for the check engine light which was part of the cost.Even though i have the extended warranty, I was told because it was a maintenance issue it was not covered. However, at the time they did not know if it was a warranty or maintenance issue until they performed the check. (catch 22). I brought this to duane the manager, he said the only thing he could do is offer me 2 future oil changes. I declined because I do not want them doing any maintenance on my vehicle again. When i buy another new vehicle it will not be here, as i do not want any work done there. on any vehicles i own. I work at the truck assembly plant in flint and i intend to spread the word to as many of the 2500 employees there about my experience. I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU GO TO SOME OTHER CHEVY DEALER. THIS WAS NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.

I was charged $185.00 for a part with 12 months/12,000 mile warranty. I can buy same part with lifetime warranty for $68.00. Then I was charged for 1.5 hours of work when anyone could do it in less than 30 minutes. I questioned all of it but have no recourse other than to let others know to research first and use an independent shop! I will NOT return to Canevers for any work though the person I dealt with was very nice and helpful. Pretty sure they will remove this!

Went to test drive the car I wanted to buy, got in the car and the fuel light was on. Stood and waited to let the sales manager know it needed gas and listened to him talk to this other couple for 20 minutes about migraine headaches while we were ignored. He gave us a voucher to fill it. We test drove it and I really wanted this car. Brought it back waited 40 minutes to be told that someone put money down to hold it and it was no longer available. The sales manager seemed to know nothing about that. They offered me no other options and said they would call me. Nobody called me, the car is also still there. Never again !!! Not sure what kind of scam they are pulling but that's at least how I feel, I will not be back nor will I recommend them to anyone.

Traveled quite a long distance because the vehicle we had been looking for was in stock. Initial greeting was friendly but after the test drive all bets were off. Waited over an hour for a sales person to talk to us again because he was closing a different sale. No other sales staff was willing to help us once we had spoken to this salesman,.. After finally sitting down with the salesman our info was taken and a final price sheet was shoved in our faces, asking us to sign.. No apology for the long wait, and certainly no interest in concerns for loan terms conditions or price..... Condition of used vehicle"s" were very poor DIRTY several had rips in the seats stains moderate to major paint flaws. Most annoyingly the vehicle we were waiting to negotiate on had been given to three other customers to test drive during our wait!

The engine on my 2010 Equinox blew at 50,000 miles leaving me stranded roadside 75 miles from home. The Service Dept. Mgr, Duane Curto, stayed after hours on a Saturday, facilitated the towing of my vehicle and had a loaner car waiting for me. My car remained in the shop for 20 days and if not for Duane, I would NEVER consider another Equinox or buying from this dealership.

Smooth transaction, professional, was dissapointed when discovered with my sales person that the 2014 Malibu LS was NOT equipped with XM radio service. Would not have every thought in the day and age GM would put that level of a car out with out XM. Our salesperson, Dana Kinsman, is top notch. We did not feel we were being sold a vehicle. We felt that Dana listened to our needs and proceeded, very diligently, to find us the vehicle we wanted. We felt her communications to update us on things from available vehicles to the final arrangements to purchase were phone calls from a friend rather than a salesperson who was only in it for the sale. We lease every 2 to 3 years, and have never in our many years had an experience like the wonderful one we had with Dana. She made us extremely comfortable, made the process easy and was always available. If she didn't have the answer to a question, she was not too proud to say that she did not know, but would find out. She answered all of our questions to total satisfaction. Dana is honest, down to earth, respectful, intelligent and a joy to work with. We love her sense of humor, also!! We recommend Dana highly! We also enjoyed the experience with each of the folks we had the pleasure to encounter at your dealership. What a refreshing change!! Our family gets manufacturer pricing from other car companies, but our experience with Dana and this dealership has made us re-think why go anywhere else. I went to a FAST CHANGE OIL PLACE with their coupon for $19 but then they said that it would cost me $50 so I left there fast. The next day I went to Canever Chevrolet and they changed my oil and rotated my tires in a little over an hour and they only charged me $40 for everything. I know my tires need replacing. When I received the list of findings from the mechanic - he reported that my tires are good. the customer support guy actually went out and measured the tires - they should have been marked poor - replace soon! Thid doesn't give me much confidence and trust in the mechanic! If he really didn't check the tires, what else is he not checking? Was the oil really changed? Its simple for me to come here. I drop off my keys and head to the lounge and use the free wifi to work. It allows me to "hide" from distractions related to my work and really get some stuff done. There are never distractions in the service lounge and there is free popcorn!!! Plus everyone who works here always says hi when they walk by me. That doesn't happen at most places. I really feel this dealership cares about the people they serve and that makes for a better experience.

As a young adult purchasing a car for the first time, I was unsure what the car buying experience was going to be like. I visited 7 dealerships and test drove at least a dozen cars looking for the best fit and deal for my limited budget. Vic Canever was hands down my favorite dealership I encountered and that is why I chose to do business with them. From the moment I walked in the door, Dana, my salesperson, went above and beyond to make my car buying experience a positive one. She actually listened to me when I told her what I was looking for in a car and what my budget was. Unlike other salespeople I encountered, Dana worked to find me exactly what I wanted and to get me the best deal possible. I could not be happier with my Cruze! Even when there were a few hiccups, she contacted me right away to let me know what the situation was and also to let me know how Vic Canever would work with me to find a solution. I cannot say enough good things about Dana! Tom, the sales manager, was great as well. He worked with Dana to get me an amazing deal, helped my family and I figure out how to take advantage of the GM Legacy Program, and was more than willing to answer any questions or concerns that I had along the way. Mark, the finance director, was amazing too, helping me get approved for my lease without a co-signer, and making sure I understood the financial aspects of my lease. My only negative comment is, I don't think they tried hard enough to convince the insurance company that this repair was the result of a recent run in with a deer. We had no problems with the power steering until the accident. I think the collision with the deer knocked something loose in the power steering. But, I'm not a mechanic.

The girl that answered the phone wasn't the best.... She didn't take my word that I saw the coupon for a new costumer discount and made me bring in my iPad after I said I didn't have a smart phone or a printer as we just moved into the area. She didn't seem friendly or welcoming. The first guy I met as I pulled in, however was great! He was warm, welcoming and was glad to give me a "new costumer discount "without making me pull out my iPad . The waiting area was nice, I loved the popcorn and found a quiet place to study my book. The first spot I choose was windy and cold as people kept going in and out, blowing my stuff everywhere. Once I moved to the "cafe" area it was better. My husband recently retired after 40 years with GM.. (from the Ren Cen in HR) and we choose to settle in Fenton closer to family... He currently works on a contract basis. We asked around and heard you have a good reputation with your service. The guy at the check out to pay was also very nice... When I came back an hour later looking for my lost glove he and another gentleman stopped what they were doing and got out of their seats to assist me.. That was awesome and even better, I found my glove! Thanks. Marie C.

I think my experience would have been perfect if I wouldn't have had to put my own gas in the car that I bought then in the loaner car when they fixed the new car. I was used to a Dodge 5 star dealer and they always took care of everything. It's the little things in customer service that counts.

fan on front heater quit working. stopped in and danielle made an appointment to have it checked next day. dropped it of next morning and received about an hour later. danielle explained the problem, cost of repair, and how long it would take. car was done when promised with my heater working. temp was -9 this morning making the cost of repair look even better. nice job everyone.

I was an 11/2 from home and my car needed to be serviced. I left my car at Vic Canever on a Sunday and had to rent a car. When I called I spoke with Chris who told me it would be early afternoon before they could get my car in to be evaluated. Less then an hour later, I received a call from him that they had diagnosed the problem and would get it fixed ASAP. He also went above and beyond in helping me get my rental car returned. If I lived closer, I would definitely use their service department on a regular basis. Thank you!

Everything went fine. I had an oil change & tire rotation. They said I had a tire sensor that was bad & could be replaced anytime. It wasn't urgent, but now I have a light that comes on that says to "Service Tire Monitoring System." If this sensor was bad prior to this visit, how come the light did not come on then?

Our 2007 Chevy Trailblazer hit a deer and it destroyed the front (grill, headlight assembly, fender, radiator, and a lot more). We took the car in on a Wednesday, and got it back in about a week. It looks beautiful. As of right now, I have no complaints. I would gladly refer my friends and family to this dealership. We've bought several vehicles and use the service department most of the time. It's our first time using the body shop. Everyone was so nice and helpful. We'll gladly come back again, if needed.

I came in for an oil change. Also visited with my salesperson, Dave Moreno. When leaving, my salesperson, Mike, told me I need new tires. I'd prefer to buy them, rather than sliding around on all the ice. I'll get them soon. I was very pleased with Mike's handling of the service I needed. What a great guy.
