This is most likely the best service department I have ever encountered in my 55 years of owning automobiles. This particular visit was a simple NC Inspection, but I was treated as if it was a major event. Greeted quickly by a service advisor, paperwork completed, etc. At the end, had a little trouble getting my registration card back. Couldn't find it, and service technician himself came out and helped me find it. Resolved.....One of the reasons I will lease another VW after the emissions settlement will be the efficiency of this department.

our visit was occasioned by the recent court settlement of the vw emissions case. following up on a visit made the week before, we were able quickly and efficiently to complete necessary paperwork to buy a replacement vehicle and get set up for the next phase of the process. From the first minute Danielle introduced herself, until we purchased our new VW, we knew we were with the right person to guide us through the process. Her knowledge, patience, ability to listen, and warmth made us feel at ease. We weren't used to a sales person who wasn't pushy and manipulative and this made it comfortable for us to take the time we needed to consider the information she gave. When we called Danielle the next day, she kindly answered our questions, and invited us to call her as often as needed. We recently had our Touareg in for the 30k service and it was noted tires had 4/32 tread left. (Side note that a 65 thousand dollar car should have better tires than a 30k Goodyear on it) The service personnel suggested tires and we asked for a price and if they price match and the dealer does! We then set up for new Michelin tires for the following week and did some price comparison with the caveat that SAMs/Walmart sometimes are quoting tires that aren't the same product so be very careful when price comparing at those locations. We did find a better price at Clarks Tires in Waynesville and with a manager ok they matched and we were thrilled! It's also noted that we had a $500 goodwill VW card that expired and so we used it at Harmony. The car rides better than new and the balance and alignment were perfect. Phillip was our service person but another in the service Dept finished us up. We are very happy with Harmony and hope to do our next trade with them if the Q7 comes into play in diesel.

Essentially, the salesman found the car with the features I was looking for and worked efficiently to help make the purchase successful. I didn't feel there was unusual pressure to purchase even though the car was attractive and would probably be sold very soon to another buyer. Being one of the first of the new models for 2017, the discount was not as much as I anticipated but was acceptable and over the long run will not be very costly as I tend to keep cars for a long time. This is my third Passat and the first two have been excellent cars and have met my needs.

I talked to a salesperson about buying a used Beetle. I was told a used one just came in and it was $9,000. She was fired so I lost contact. I then talked to someone who took her place. He was very nice, but the finance person was rude and awful. That same car never made it to their lot, but the new price was $11,000 and was out being fixed. Then another one came up on their site. It never made it to their lot either, but I was told it was in transit and the other was sold. This one was 4k over book value and then they told me that instead of 20% down, now it was close to 50% down for this car, however they could put me in a subaru for less than 10% down. I was never interested in a subaru and they knew this. I believe they list cars in their inventory they will never have to get people in the door. They also tried to put me in a 2016 Jetta. They only want to get rid of 2016's because they 2017's were in and will do a lot of shady stuff including bait and switch tactics on imaginary inventory. Go anywhere but there. Go to another state if you want a Bug.

First time purchasing a vehicle at a dealership. Contacted Ron the night before to make sure the vehicle was still available before making a 4 hour drive the next day to check it out. Ron answered all questions and made sure to cover everything. He also set me up with financing that was lower than my loan I had acquired for the purchase. Chris went over everything with the title, financing, and extended warranty with me and also answered all questions that I had. While I was with Chris, Ron went and got t-shirts and bumper stickers for us. The experience took a little longer than expected, but my case was also unique and it had no impact on the sale or my view of anyone. Dealership was clean and had refreshments. Every customer that came in was immediately addressed by an employee. Thank you Ron and Chris for the experience.

Our situation was a bit unusual in that we own a 2014 Jetta TDI diesel which we plan to return to VW in November for a settlement payout. We loved our TDI and wish VW hadn't cheated. But we appreciate their reaching an agreement with owners. Meanwhile, we needed to think about a new car and our research led us back to the gas powered Jetta as one of the best compact cars to chose from. We also discovered VW offers some of the best lease deals going, and as we are in our 60's it made sense for us to think about leasing. We needed a second car, too, because our 2001 Saturn is no longer reliable and we'll be donating it. Harmony Motors was great to work with, and Josh Mitchell was super. He made us an offer we couldn't refuse! He even picked us up at home (30 miles away) after we decided to lease two 2016 Jettas they had on clearance since we would be switching license plates with our other two cars. So, we now have two Jettas (the S and SE models), and while they're not quite as quick as the TDI and lack some of the extras, they are almost as much fun to drive and handle just as nicely. The only downside is the 36 month care package that came standard on our TDI is now an extra cost on new VWs. This can add up depending on the coverage you choose.

I unfortunately had a very disappointing visit to the Asheville VW service department. I brought in my 2016 Golf R which I purchased there to have the subwoofer (VW part number 000051419) installed. I arrived a little after 8, and when checking the car in I asked the service advisor to give me a price quote on the install. He went and got the installer to come talk to me. The installer said he hadnt done one before and would have to open it up and look at the scope of the install and then have the advisor get back to me. In the meantime I waited patiently in the waiting area. Over an hour later he finally found me and told me it would be a 6.5 hour install at a cost of almost $750.00. I gasped in surprise and asked why so much. He said it was a long install and a lot had to be done. I asked if there was a way they could cut me a break given Id purchased the car there, and also given the inexperience of the technician not having done this before. He said no, that the service manager had quoted that price from what they had looked up as far as warranty. Luckily I had priced the install with several other dealers just in case there was a big difference. I got quotes from other dealers who had experience installing this part between $350 and $400. I asked if they would match the price and was told no. Given that is almost a $400 difference I made an appointment at another dealership and will have to drive 80 or so miles to get it done. Wow, this was some not so great hospitality being shown to a loyal customer. I mean why should I be made to pay a premium because of the inexperience of their technicians, and obviously comparably expensive labor costs? Makes me wonder if I was also taken advantage of when I bought the car initially. So, I left the dealership, disappointed and frustrated after having had to take the morning off work for nothing. I also had to schedule the install elsewhere which will mean more time spent. It is unlikely Ill ever go back to Volkswagen of Asheville to service my Golf R or purchase another vehicle in the future after this exasperating experience as this does not sound like the level of service that should be offered to a loyal VW enthusiast.Update: The management at the dealership contacted me and offered to match the install price from the other dealership.

They addressed my main issue which turned out to be a piece of metal in my tire. But Charles also does a serious inspection of my car, and noticed where someone must have hit my front end in a parking lot. The damage was barely noticeable to me until he pointed it out. I had not hit anything or been in an accident so it had to have been a parking lot somewhere. He explained what would need to be done that should allow them to pop it out, which I will do later.While I was upset with the diesel news that came out 2 weeks after buying my car, I do love the car. And the service has been outstanding. If I get a reasonable buy back, I will probably trade up to the same car with a couple more extras, but a regular gas car.

I took my Passat diesel in for an oil change. I had been there about an hour. Thinking that was a bit long for an oil change I went out to the service manager to ask why it was taking so long. Turned out the shop computer was down. The car had been ready for 30 minutes and they were waiting for the computer to come up so they could do the paperwork. WHAT!?? Have these people become so enslaved by technology that they can't do receipts by hand with a pencil or pen. THIS IS NOT CUSTOMER BASED SERVICE ! Finally, they just let me take the car sans paperwork which they said would follow when the computer came up. I guess it never did because I have yet to see a the paperwork. This is the SECOND time this has happened to me at this dealership. BOO HISS ! Nice people -- very shoddy customer relations.

Since we moved to Asheville five years ago, we have taken our vehicles (a 2003 EuroVan and at that time a 2000 Audi A6) to Harmony. Never once has there been a problem with scheduling or with service. We swapped the Audi for a 2014 Passat TDI SEL and have continued to have good service for both the EuroVan and the Passat. We are confident that such excellent service will continue, especially with the likes of Charles Bishop and Jack Thill on the service desks.

I drove 1.5 hours out to this location per APR's recommendation. The drive up from Clemson to Asheville on those back mountain roads is simply amazing! The customer service here was excellent. My GTI screams after the Stage 1 tune. Acceleration is so much more aggressive and responsive. The overhead that's available on these TSI motors is incredible. I'm getting better Mpg some how too lol. I will definitely make future trips back to Harmony Motors for future APR products and services as well as other aftermarket service installs. They have a brand new Outlet Mall within a mile of the dealership.

I've never purchased a brand new car before and Brent Curvin not only held my hand through the entire process, but made purchasing a new car, not so intimidating. Harmony was able to loan a similar vehicle to me for 24 hours to ensure I wanted to purchase the vehicle. They arranged for the specific color I wanted to be delivered, pricing was fair and easy to negotiate. I test drove a similar vehicle on Friday, my vehicle was delivered on Monday, and I drove away in my 2016 VW Golf Sports Wagon by Monday afternoon. While I was waited on my vehicle to get washed, waxed, and fully fueled, Chris Nelson walked me through every word of the 0% financing agreement and Brent taught me every thing about my new car from front bummer to rear end. Experience transmission issues outside of Asheville, NC on our way to Lexington KY. Was warmly welcomed by sales associate on arrival and shown to service center. My car was taken into service and problem diagnosed within an hour. Was given regular updates on the status. My car needed to cool down overnight and staff gave us hotel and restaurant recommendations and drove us to hotel. Car ready in a.m. and we were picked up from hotel. Everyone was friendly, efficient and professional. Would HIGHLY recommend this dealership.

Took my Tiguan in for oil change and 20,000 mile check which included tire rotation.Also had a little problem with the gas cap getting stuck, which they replaced withno charge under warranty. Only complaint is that the place stays pretty busy and italways takes a bit longer than estimated.

Had my car towed into the dealership as the steering column froze while I was in Asheville on a business trip. Ended up that my ignition column seized up and needed to be replaced. Due to cost, time, age of car and need for a rental, I decided it would be a better option to purchase a new car. When I let the service person know, he connected me with Josh. Josh was phenomenal, patient and kind throughout the entire process. He met my needs by finding me a Tiguan, in a color I wanted, at the price point I needed. My service appointment at Hamorny Motors has been a pleasant experience from setting up the appointment on line and on the phone with Brittany Courtney to the actual appointment with Jack Thill who in fact is a great person to work with and with the follow-up finish with Philip King. Everyone who I had a encounter with was nice. The staff at Harmony was AWESOME - very friendly and knowledgeable. I had been to 4 other dealerships that day, and while everyone was nice, I was really drawn into this particular one. Love the bright, inviting, unique showroom... cool vintage gas pumps and cars. While the GTI itself was the reason I ultimately bought the car, I really appreciated the people who work there (Andrew, Ray, Ossie, & Chris!) The paperwork was painless and you can never go wrong with free tie-die t-shirts, as you drive away in your new car with the sunroof open and music cranking!

I really appreciated the follow-up reminder by email for my 2012 VW Tiguan 30K appointment. My ticket was ready when I got there and there was no waiting to get started. I decided to wait for my car and it took 4 hours, which wasn't great. I did change my ticket to get new tires after Philip told me they were getting pretty worn, so that took some extra time. I agreed with his assessment, and liked his polite ways. Fortunately the waiting area had coffee, snacks and comfortable chairs.

This is the second time I have paid for my car to be detailed. The first time was an excellent job. This time I had to return to the shop and three of us had to wipe down the car that was covered in a speckled film, including the mirrors, windows and chrome. The windshield continues to have a greasy film on it that isn;t removed via windshield fluid and wipers. When I got home I noticed that the inside of the car, especially the dashboard and doors had not been cleaned completely. There were stains and crumbs that I wiped off.I think you need to hire more detailers so that they are not pressured to finish quickly and thus increase the risk of not doing a good job. I paid $200 for the detail and I can assure you I will take my business elsewhere.Thank you ,Sharon Wallace

2nd car I bough there in 5 months due to an accident.Both times they were a bit reluctant to get the exact car I wanted, as it was nothing they had in inventory (specific color and option package on 2016 GTI).They did finally agree to get the car when I stated it was that or nothing.Both times buying it took far too long when picking the car up. The finance person seems to be the constraint on both occasions, even though I had an appointment both times.It took about 3 hours the first time, and well over 2 hours the 2nd time.They were not prepared to handle the refund of the previous cars extended warranty, even though I had specifically discussed this in advance. Found a loose razor blade in the interior apparently left by the detail person.Car was in great shape outside.

I began looking for my car online one evening. Another area dealer had the exact car in the exact color and trim level I was looking for, so I put in an inquiry online about the availability and what the price was. Not wanting to eliminate the local dealer so easily I also put in an email to see if perhaps VW of Asheville might be able to locate the vehicle for me. Stephanie Dilts contacted me quickly and went to work with Nate Nunn to find a car for me. In the interim the other dealer was making attractive offers to lure me to purchase their car. Stephanie worked hard for the sale and around the time they were getting ready to pull in a car for me the exact car with the desired trim level and color came in on a truck. Jack Thill was a straight shooter with me which I appreciate that . He didn't try to twist my arm into services that I didn't need immediately but let me know of things that my car could benefit from. I bought the car from Harmony in 2014 and had my first issue in 2016. I have a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. I love the car but was disappointed that right after the warranty was out that I was having sputtering issues. It turns out to have been my spark plugs and wires. I went in to have an alarm system installed by the service department. They were prompt for my 10:00 appointment. I was only there an hour for the service. I enjoyed some quite time in there lobby. Also got to see my salesman DJ Roberts again. I live 90 miles away but I am considering driving up there for my services and oil changes.

I took my 2012 GTI in to check on what sounded like grinding. A service person rode with me and agreed that there was a noticeable grinding sound. They took the car back into the service area out of my sight, but when the car was returned, it had been washed, and the service person said that they had performed a thorough inspection and found only that there was uneven tire wear likely resulting in excessive road noise. He said that the tires were still within safe wear limits, but suggested an alignment when new tires ere bought. There was no charge, even for the car wash. I drove off reassured that my car was okay and happy with the level of service received.

I called to have what I thought was the starter replaced. I was told I needed to make sure this part was ordered before I could make an appt. I ordered it. I assumed you checked to make sure I needed this part, it was replaced. It cost almost $600. A day later the same issues continued, the problem wasn't fixed. I brought the car in a week later (cause making an appt is almost impossible when you need it), was given a loaner. A week later my car was done, it was the ignition switch. The cost, over $400. I was shocked! I just paid $600 for something I didn't need and it didn't even fix the problem. I talked to Philip and Charles, they couldn't resolve my issue, so I then spoke to the service dept manager. He was horrible. He was rude and called me a liar. I asked to have the part removed or the labor removed from my bill, he declined. I gave you guys $1000 for something that cost roughly $400! I thought you guys cared about your customers but you don't. I'm loyal, never been anywhere else and I go there often, my car is 16 years old. But I don't need to be treated like a liar. I deserve better.

Brent Curvin was my sales person and followed us through the process with friendliness, knowledge, and caring attitude. With followup services that were needed, Brent worked hard to make sure appointments were arranged and time well spent. Brent was awesome and I appreciate his personal attitude and wonderful help. I never met either of the management representatives so I cannot comment on his help. Although we finalized the deal late in the evening, I was not impressed with our finance representative. He was very matter of fact and almost offended that I was asking questions.

The service department quoted me $91 for an alignment (fair price) and $126 for a brake fluid flush (also fair). They called and said I needed a new reservoir because something was clogging it. I thought no big deal it's just a little plastic container. The cost of the brake flush went from $126 to just under $550. I'll never go back and NEVER recommend them to anyone ever again. Stay away unless you like getting ripped off.

Only issue I have with your service department is your billing. Had our 2013 Touareg in to get a new key programmed. My wife picked up the car, and paid the bill. I noted that you had the usual $7.95 fee for "Environmental and Shop Supplies". Call Zac and pointed out that there are no Environmental or shop supplies used in programming a key! He informed me that the charge automatically appears on every bill, but would be happy to cred it our acct. (I have taken him on his word.) I know that most customer don't even pay attention to that charge and just pay it. However it has to be a valid charge. I work in the Financial Services industry, which is so regulated, we have to disclose all our charges and what they pertain to (which you have done), but, the MUST BE RELEVANT TO THE SERVICES BEING RENDERED (or you, and I, will get sued in our line of work.)

Staff is always pleasant and accommodating. The waiting area is nicely appointed. Only complaint is the wait period seems always to be 2 hours or more, no matter what the reason. However, this time I did ask for a shorter wait, and was accommodated. It still took an hour and a half, though. I would understand if it were a trouble-shooting situation, but a checkup and oil change shouldn't take that long. In their defense, they do offer a shuttle to areas within a reasonable distance in lieu of waiting for the work to be done.

Both buying the car and service under warranty I have run into issues with honesty. I was told buying the car that I had to sign a promise to buy BEFORE I could run my credit to find out about financing. They said that they would tear it up if I decided not to buy. Why would it be necessary? I of course declined since I could not sign a promise to buy if I was not promising to buy. They tried to convince me they couldn't move forward with financing a few times so I started to leave. Then it miraculously was no longer a requirement. The car came with one key and they gave me an IOU for the second key however they said that my 2014 Jetta did not come with a valet key. Now, I have learned that was not true but what can I do about it?I asked them to change the alarm to not beep every time the car locked or unlocked and they said that they could take care of that for free when I brought it in to make the second key. After it was completed they apologized and said they were giving me a discount, charging me $67 for the programming (I watched them, it took 3 minutes) . When I said that they had offered it free and even if it wasn't free, the time to mention this was before it was completed. They just asked if I had it in writing!I just called about a warranty issue (my iphone connector never worked right and now does not work at all) and they kindly offered to take care of it. Since I've had so much fun with them before I asked nicely if there was any possibility of this costing me money. They said that their diagnostic fee was $59 and if there was found to be any "outside influence" they would charge me the diagnostic fee and NOT fix it or I could pay for the part and the labor. So I asked if I could perhaps get a NC inspection included in the Diagnostic fee but they said that they would have to charge for that seperately since it goes to NC. That doesn't seem reasonable to me so I called Greenville VW. Of course, they said they would take care of it. If there was gum or water in it naturally it wouldn't be free but I could pay $60 for the new cord installed or just do without for nothing. So my options are $59 for nothing in Asheville or $0 for nothing or $60 for a solution in Greenville. What scares me though, is that if I had just brought it in without asking so many questions I would have been paying $59 for nothing without any warning and with how things have gone in the past....I am sorry to make a bad review, especially since everyone who works there is very pleasant to talk to but I feel that their business practices are concerning and I would like to help others. I felt pressured by the Sales Manager into giving them a good review to VW when I purchased and I have regretted it. Greenville, SC is much nicer to deal with. Especially if you need any service done it is worth the trip. If you must go to Harmony, get everything clearly in writing every time.

I visited this dealership in June 2014, and i was in the market for a new Audi. I had previously looked at the A3, and the A4. My mind was practically made up when my eyes saw the Audi TTS. I loved everything about this car. Although the dealership was nice with helping me with my previous interests in models, they were not too keen on helping me with this model. The dealership never had an TT/TTS/TTRS models even in stock or at the dealership. When they finally got something close, they got in a 2010 Used TTS. This TTS had about 39,000 miles on it and was priced at $36,999 which is actually a price markup from what it originally was. I saw this car a month previous at Skyland Mazda/Mercedes, etc. It was the exact same car, but was only $32,000, a much better deal. I was actually planning on buying this car the exact day i came. When i was outside looking at the vehicle on the lot, my usual salesman came out and i began to ask him details on the car. I was so interested in this car and i was so ready to buy it, until the salesman said, "You're wasting your time." i was dumbfounded. I was so offended and so upset that i left the dealership and never returned. I figured to myself, "If a salesman is going to be that rude, not help me, and look down his nose at me, then he doesn't need a commission and the dealership doesn't need a sale." I am still extremely dissatisfied with how Harmony Motors handled my interest in one of their vehicles and i will think twice before i return to look at any of their vehicles again. This was the worst car dealership experience i have ever had. I am now enjoying my new 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS that i purchased from Cape Fear Porsche. Sorry Harmony Motors! You had your chance and you blew it big time. I wouldn't waste my time or money at this excuse for a building they call a "car dealership." Save your money and go somewhere else! Avoid this place and their terrible and rude customer service! -Peace

We just bought a pre-owned BMW and couldn't be happier. My sales associate went WAY beyond my wildest expectations as did the sales manager. Not only did they work with me on the price of the car, but they allowed for a little travel contingency (we purchased the car through the Internet, phone, texting, etc) AND they were the highest for our trade-in. There was a small issue with the car and both worked with me very well to get it resolved. I'm a VERY happy customer! Further, the dealership is very clean and a pleasure to be in.

I visited this dealership for the "sign then drive" VW event, but wasn't feeling too positive about getting an acceptable deal as my visit's to other dealers were not successful. Happily, I purchased a 2013 VW Beetle! Macon Cutshall, my sales consultant, and Derek Ryan, the general sales manager both worked hard, and even stayed late to work out a great deal for me. They are great people to work with and I would highly recommend anyone looking for a vehicle to take a trip to Harmony Motors. I couldn't be happier with my deal or with my Beetle.

I can't believe they were able to keep my payment the same as it was on the Honda I traded in a year early on the lease. And I get full roadside assistance for the whole term of my lease for free!! I give this dealer a very low rating because they advertise on their website that they give "dealership service at small garage prices". My experience was just the opposite. The check engine code told them what was wrong with the car. They then charged me $400 plus to diagnose and dig into the problem. Still unsure they replaced the timing belt $1600 plus. After replacing the timing belt plus the time spend on so-called digging into the problem (which the malfunction code had already told them) the tech noticed then the issue. $2100 later my car is still not fixed. Waiting to pick my car up I hear another service consultant playing the same game with a customer. Beware. Do not take your Audi here for service. Plus $95 hr shop rate is not small garage pricing - that is just misleading.

Very pleasant to work with, love the certified used car warranty. We had several small items on our 6 year old Jetta that we bought there, and they were all repaired, no questions asked.
