I needed a 7-passenger SUV. l decided to look at a Volvo and went to Volvo White Plains. (I had already looked at other SUV brands on the market) It was a very positive experience learning all about the 2017 XC-90 Inscription. No pressure, its features were well explained. I met with Tom VanDuyne, sales manager, Stefan Zungoli, product specialist, and Marco Buceta, the client consultant. They were all very helpful and knowledgeable. .I ordered the car, I was kept informed about its arrival in the US and when I could pick it up. There is so much to learn about the XC90 but everyone at White Plains Volvo has been willing to answer my questions in person and via phone or email. I had a wonderful experience buying this car. I highly recommend this dealership and the staff I met.

In one word - AWESOME! We leased a 2016 Volvo XC90. Rick Blackwell, our rep, was simply amazing. He was honest, up front and very helpful. He completely understood our requirements, and did not try to sell us anything more than what we were looking for. More importantly, he worked with us on our bottom line. He was able to get us all available discounts, including giving us a good discount on the car itself. Tom, the manager, was very courteous and helpful in explaining all the required ppwk and any questions we had regarding.the price. Once the transaction was completed, Stephan Zungoli, another rep at the store who was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the XC90, walked us through the ins and outs. He literally gave me the complete run down on my new car. In his words, "we want you to drive this car like you have known it for years....by your first week". And trust me, there are SO MANY bells and whistles in our car that I didn't know existed, and would never have known to even inquire about them....he told me EVERYTHING I needed to know. And also told me I could call him if I forgot something (there was A LOT of info!!). Everyone at the dealership was very friendly, including the rep who helped me out to set up the oncall (don't know his name) and front desk receptionist :). A big Thank you to ALL of you!

The total experience was outstanding. Form first sitting down with the salesman to the delivery of the car, twice! That's what made it even more exceptional. I apparently was first given a car that had electronic issues. I drove it out of the dealership and ran into a problems. The dealership and service staff took care of it right away, I brought it to service. They gave me a loaner, they stayed late so I can pick it up and when I got home I still had a problem So the dealership gave me another car. I was astonished. No other car dealership has ever done this (and this wasn't the first time a drove a new car off the lot and ran into problems right away) They did a great job.

My 2016 XC90 needed a new tire and I wanted a hitch added. In addition to those items, the service team gave it a thorough "walkthrough" to see what else as needed and covered under warranty -- not charged anything. Helene and the rest of the crew at the front desk (at Old Tarrytown Rd service ctr) are AMAZING and on top of getting your car back to you ASAP. There is also a free shuttle that runs from the service center to Metro North. The dealer (located on Main St) is also fabulous at getting involved even AFTER they sold you the car, to help move things along if needed. A+++++

Very nervous buying a new car with all the updated technology. Test drove various cars in Manhattan. Only 2016 models available in show rooms. Felt very pressured and unhappy. Traveled to many Volvo dealerships in the metro area - NY, CT and NJ, - and have dealt with a lot of sales representatives. Volvo of White Plains in Elmsford was certainly one of the best. Professional - straight forward. Only two things I would change - 1) The website needs to be properly directed as sometimes it gets a Privacy Error 2) Parking and Cert. Pre-Owned vehicle showing area is at separate lot - would be more convenient with a bit more space.

Eloy Sanchez was very professional. I never felt pressured by him. When I was finally ready to buy my Volvo, Tom VanDuyne, the general manager and Stefan (sp,), the recently hired product specialist who clearly loves and knows Volvos inside out, helped me with the vehicle I ultimately chose when Eloy was out for the day, with Eloy setting me up at delivery so I could be on my way effortlessly. These guys are incompetent, they lie, they make mistakes, they lie about their mistakes. We had problems making the order, problems with the delivery, problems paying the taxes, problems getting the license plate. Through it all, never any apologies, never any ownership of the crap experience, just excuses and lies. I've never spent so much money and gotten such amazingly bad service. I would prefer to never own a car again than do business here again.

I came in assuming the S60 was going to be out of my price range. I met Gene, who is incredibly friendly, and applied absolutely no pressure. He answered my questions, he ran some numbers to show me that the car was in fact very much in my price range. The process was a bit long because I still had to deal with returning another car that was on lease. He couldn't have been more friendly and helpful throughout the process. I also checked the price I got at two other Volvo dealerships, who both told me that I should take Big Dee's deal immediately, since there was no way they could match it.A great experience with Big Dee -- and 2 months in, the car is absolutely awesome!

this was by far the best experience i have had leasing a car.i have leased 5 cars each time was miserable.Feeling unsure and always getting hit with a bunch of lies and nonsense. at big D our salesman was honest straightforward. he did not play a high low game or try to use his manager as leverage. his initial offer was fair. he was knowledgeable about the vehicle we were interested in and we had a fair negotiation that was mutual for both sides. painless stress free NO NONSENSE. i would recommend big D to anyone looking for a Volvo.

Not a friendly environment!!! When I walked into the service department I didn't even get acknowledged. When you enter a business you expect to be acknowledged. I wasn't and I wonder why?!?!?! I felt the tension once I entered. I went in for the parts department so I had to bypass both people at the service desk who didn't even ask if I needed assistance or acknowledge me. They saw when I entered but continued to keep their head down and totally ignored my presence. I proceeded to the cashier and very pleasantly spoke to her and she did not have a polite response after I said "hello how are you", but she told me very frank "IF YOU ARE HERE FOR PARTS GO OVER THERE AND JUST RING THE BELL AND SOMEONE SHOULD BE WITH YOU IN A MINUTE OR SO..." I must say that the gentleman who assist me after ringing the bell for some sort of assistance, his demeanor and professionalism wasn't that great either. Even though I live in the neighbor, I would rather travel over the Tappan Zee Bridge and do my business with Palisades Volvo where I purchased my vehicle and where they treat their customers with dignity respect and are very professional. I wouldn't dare return!!!!

Gene Skelton was very rude to me via email when I got back to him informing him that I received a better price from another dealer and if he could do better in price I would surely like to give him the business because up to that point he was courteous.He basically told me that because I didn't show up in his dealership as promised that he would not sell a car to me, that I was not man enough---in spite of the fact that I had a family emergency and couldn't make it that particular day I emailed him when I got home---seems like he has been doing this too long and has forgotten the fact that the customer is always right--and he very much needs training in customer service on how to deal with prospective customers--and I was going to drive out of my way --when there are Volvo dealers that are closer---his boss should know that because of his ego/attitude he lost the dealership business---then he tells me that he could have given me a better price-just doesn't make sense--he would have had me if that was the case

We gave these ratings because of Gene! He was terrific. We have been Volvo owners for many years who were generally happy with their 2004 XC70 and 2005 S80 cars. Until, they both hit around 100K miles and both transmissions started slipping. My wife and I found it ironic that both would have problems with their transmissions at about the same mileage and being driven by two different drivers with different driving styles who made sure the cars were maintained well. We weren't happy because we believed Volvos to be dependable and had a reputation for long lasting and safe vehicles, To be honest we had our trepidations about purchasing or leasing another one. But "safety" out weighted everything else, especially for my daughter's first car. Anyway leasing a XC60 is our way of testing he waters again. Granted we don't expect to hit 100K miles in three years. But we'll see how it goes. Regarding Gene; he did an outstanding job in convincing me and my wife Volvo was the way to go. He was honest and earnest with his recommendations, did not pressure us into options or models we felt wasn't right and made sure whatever dealer or factory discounts we could take advantage of was given us. During the pricing discussions he took his time, ran through several options with different models in inventory and generally made sure that we were comfortable with the final arrangements and price. When delivering the car he took a full 45 minutes to explain all the options to my daughter, kept emphasizing the safety features. A true professional.

Spent a a long time explaining all of the new features in the car after we purchased and set up our blue tooth pairing for both our phones. Bill Bosshart (sales consultant) and Bill Whited (sales Manager) have earned my praise. The total experience at Big D Volvo was Relaxed, with none of the High pressure, buy on the spot Sales pitches I had recently experienced at several other Dealerships, both Volvo and other Luxury Brands. Bill Boshart answered all questions, and received straight forward information on both the Vehicle (S-60 T-5 AWD) and on the Terms of the Lease. NO hidden costs etc. My wife and I came back to Big D several times over several weeks, and upon each return Visit we were were greated by a most helpful greater at the door, Just to say Hi and welcome. No roadblock or intimidation! If Bill Bosshart was not immediatly available, another sales rep. greated and offered any help till Bill was available. Bill Whited would also come over with a warm welcome handshake, offering any assistnce. We never felt pressured to buy/lease, were never asked when and if we were going to do a deal. It was never difficult to leave the Showroom, and in fact we were encouraged to come back any time with questions and additional test rides, when WE felt we wanted to.NEVER any pressure to "Close the Deal" as we experienced at other Dealers!When we made up our minds to Lease the Volvo, Bill held to the price we had discussed weeks before, without the typical the deal changed etc. All paperwork was handled by him, without the Office jumping to finance, final approval by manager etc. Delivery went smoothly, Bill took his time explaining all the electronics to us. I had decided that the 2013 Volvo c30 was the vehicle for me, which was the first step; but shopping different Volvo dealerships was the second. Big Dee Volvo and specifically Bill Bosshart made the buying process quite easy for me. In the past my buying experiences had always been somewhat of a pain, filled with a lot of stress, questions, and pressure. Big Dee Volvo did not make me feel this way at all. From the minute I walked in I felt more relaxed than I ever had when looking at a vehicle. There was no pressure. There were no empty promises. There was no rush. Bill Bosshart made every effort to see if he could find what I wanted and for the price that I had mentioned as my cap. He was working for me. Oftentimes I find that I'm the one who seems to be doing most of the hoop-jumping. And if I'm the one footing the bill then why should I have to do all of the work as well? I shouldn't. But it didn't stop there. Mr. Bosshart was excellent at communicating with me throughout the car buying process. I always spoke with him, emailed him, etc. With other dealers I've felt as if I've had to deal with 2, 3, or even 4 different people. This is a waste of time. I felt taken care of at Big Dee Volvo by my sales representative. And when you're making a huge purchase like a new car you ought to feel taken care of. I can't say that same thing for a lot of other dealerships. In summary I'd just like to say that Big Dee Volvo is what you want your car buying experience to be like. Calm. Informative. Professional. Hands on. One on one. Patient. Fair. And they don't just drop you once you've made your purchase. Mr. Bosshart has answered any/all questions that I've had since my purchase. the people are a bunch of crooks. i had my volvo services and they busted my radiator and gave me back my car as if nothing happen. they also tried to sell me a new cilynder for my brakes. when a took it back the next day they said the damage did not happen there. they also wanted to charge me to fix the car, like i am a fool. i took the car to another shop and had the radiator fixed for one hundred and fifty dollars less. i was also told that i did not need a new cilynder for my braked.BIG DEE VOLVO IS A BUNCH OF CROOKS.

While on vacation a month after purchasing my second Volvo (used '05 V8) I got the counter balance shaft breakdown on I-95 and 800 mi. from home. If this story doesn't explain a HORRIBLE dealership, then I don't know what does. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!My husband brought our car in last week for its 75k tuneup & new front breaks. As he was leaving the dealership he heard a noise coming from the back tires. He brought it back in & the staff was extremely rude to him saying they heard nothing when they drove, that the car was fine & he had to pick it up that day. He picked it up the next day & drove it home & it sounded ok. I drove the car from NYC to Boston this past weekend. Luckily I was stuck in 25 mph traffic most of the way, if not I might not be here to write this note. About 50 miles from Boston I heard a horrible humming noise & the car started shaking. Thinking it was my bike on the roof I pulled over & took the bike off. Got back on the highway & felt the steering was off. Went extremely slow the rest of the way to Boston, by the time I got there the car was making the worst screeching noise I've ever heard. I looked at the back driver side tire & was STUNNED to see that 2 lug nuts had fallen off the tire, & the tire was sticking out from the car ready to fall off! I called AAA & they came & said I was lucky to be alive & he had never seen anything like this. Had I not hit traffic the tire would have fallen off as I was going 75 mph on the highway. I would either be dead or seriously injured. Luckily they put the tire back on, put an extra lug nut on & I was able to bring it to a mechanic the next day. They too could not believe the story & said that I was very lucky. He said the inside wheel was completely scratched up, but fortunately no real damage. We paid $930 to get our car fixed at the dealership, we were treated horribly & then had to pay an extra $110 to get something fixed that should NEVER have been an issue.

I brought my Volvo S40 for service twice thinking it would be more convenient because I work in Tarrytown. Wrong. 1) No internet option for working professionals, 2) was not told in a timely manner when the work was completed and 3) loaners are not available if you haven't bought the car from them. Overpriced services, sub-par customer service. If you live in Connecticut I would highly recommend Danbury Volvo.

I have lease 3 new Volvo's from Big Dee. I always get the best deal. They are very nice to do business with. I had a 2001,2005 and now a 2007.I have reccomended all my friends and family to them.My father bought his car from them in 1969.If you want a new Volvo this is the only place to go.

This guy is an idiot. Insulting your intelligence and always making excuses on why items are not covered and why I have to bring my XC90 in 8 times for front end work. I have now replaced the entire front end parts from tires to sway bars to shock tower, brakes, alignment all done in the first 20 K miles.

Run, don't walk away from this place. I bought a Pre Owned Volvo from them and had to ask for a copy of the PreOwned Checklist, which they are supposed to put in the glovebox with all other paperwork. Or should I saw TWO checklists, as the first time we picked up the car from the dealership it had a faulty catalytic converter and began emitting black smoke. Delivery is only allowed to take place at certain times of the day, because midday on a Saturday a POTENTIAL customer is considered more valubale than someone who already spent money on a car. Not to mention that the inside of the car WAS NOT CLEAN upon delivery ad there were stains, markings and even some black goo on teh driver's seat adjuster. Also upon delivery we were not informed of any minor defects to the car, such as the torn seats or scrapes on the back bumper. My only option now is to have this car RE-INSPECTED at another Volvo dealership, which will cost $$$. I don't thrust teh mechanics- how can a car with a bad catalytic converter pass a NY state inspection?!Sales managers I spoke to were nothing but rude and had serious attitude problems. I got the impresion that just b/c I was not purchasing a $50,000 Jaguar deemed me not as important of a customer.They need some serious customer svc training at this place, as they are making Wal-Mart look competant.
