In 1970, Land Rover upped its road going game with the first Range Rover, now referred to as the Classic, which soldiered on for an impressive 25 years with only incremental changes. In 1995 the new P38 Range Rover was introduced raising the bar for on and off road capability while at the same time emphasizing luxury and creature comfort that has become the standard that every Land Rover upholds today. The P38 was short lived, retired in 2003 by the all new BMW designed models that were in every way were more refined and up market yet short on the charming character and quirkiness of the P38 and Classic Range Rovers.
